I recently had an idea that I should start to programme, or start to learn programming. I chose Python as my first programming language, as I have done some research and come to a conclusion that it is the best for beginners, such as myself. I am doing this activity on my own, and I have decided to take a few hours every week and dedicate that time to developing this new skill.

⌨️Reflection⌨️

Although I am interested in logic and its application, as well as in some subjects related to coding (im AI, for example), I have never learnt how to write a code. I did do it in primary school, though, but the language we used to work in is not at all contemporary or applicable nowadays, it was rather used to show us some basics of how the operating systems work. So, since I'm planning to pursue my college studies, and my career eventually, in STEM sciences, I figured learning how to programme could be of great importance and benefit to me.

Coding seems very complicated at first, and many would say that you need to be a math expert in order to gain knowledge or experience in this field. But none of this is true! Anyone can, relatively easily, understand what needs to be done in order to solve a problem given, after some time invested in learning and practicing one of many programming languages, and write a few lines of code that will do the trick. Even though I am still a beginner, I am glad to notice I've made some progress and the fact that I become more and more eager and motivated to continue learning after every successfully solved problem, bring me much joy.

Well... to say that, would be a lie. It wasn't exactly as normal.

Two beasts hunting at once, Halloween Town painted red with blood. Everyone else had long since fallen, leaving the two Stunners alone. They were huddled in one of the houses, specifically in the bedroom due to it being the only enclosed spot.

Builderman had pushed the bed in front of the door to barricade it, and he was pacing the room relentlessly. He knew it wasn't a matter of if the beasts would find them, only when.

Avarice, on the other hand, had curled up and seated herself in the corner of the room. Her Firebrand lay discarded, kicked away from herself as she pulled at her own hair.

If she closed her eyes, she could still hear the screams. She hated it so much, she hated knowing she couldn't protect them.

"Ava," she heard Builderman call, "can you still hear me?"

Hazel eyes darted up to meet the Dev's own. He had knelt in front of her and taken one of her hands.

"I can." She nodded, though her voice wavered.

He smiled a bit, and she almost forgot what was happening.

"You did well this time." He praised, and she shook her head. This prompted him to gently pry her out of the ball she'd curled into. "You did, okay? The odds were stacked against us. That isn't your fault."

"If I'd done better, if I were more like you-" She started, but his other hand raised to press a finger to her lips. She hadn't noticed that he'd ever put the Ban Hammer down.

His gaze was stern, yet traced with some other emotion that made her heart flutter. In this hellscape, that sensation was entirely unfamiliar.

"Can I do something?" Builderman asked. "With your locket, I mean. I don't want to do this without permission."

Though she was confused, she nodded all the same.

His hands gingerly cupped the golden heart, and a soft smile graced his lips. One of his fingertips traced along the surface- gently at first, then with a little bit of pressure.

As he traced and pressed, the locket changed just a bit. The surface seemed to yield under his touch, and when he pulled back, BM decorated the golden pendant in scratched, yet still intricate carving. Oh, her stomach was in knots now.

"Did.. you just brand me?" She joked lightly, though it came out breathless. It made him chuckle.

"If you want to think of it that way," he shrugged, "call it whatever you want. But I'm using it as a promise. No matter what happens, we'll always come back to each other, okay? That's the only good thing about these repeated matches."
