While Riley, Xander, and Lindsey all read very much as repressed bisexuals, it's important to note that they're all three different flavors of repressed bisexuals.

Xander doesn't even know what bisexuality is. He clearly wants Spike (and also Angel and Riley to some extent) but he likes girls so he can't be gay... right? He just has no clue that being bi is possible. I think if Giles (elder bisexual) sat down and explained bisexuality to Xander, he might Get It. Then again, he's also got some internalized insecurities about his own masculinity, but I think with time, once Xander figured out that he was bi, he would be able to accept himself, and be happier for it.

Riley knows that it's possible to be bi, and probably knows full well that he wants Spike (and Angel... and Graham...) but he just. Does not want to believe it. "I'm not into men. I'm not gay. I'm not gay. If I say it 100 times it will be true. I'm not gay." I don't think Riley needs it spelled out for him like Xander does. He really just needs time to accept it. Riley is fighting demons and the demons are bisexuality.

Lindsey knows that he wants to screw Angel. He wants it so bad. He probably knows what being bi is. Lindsey to me reads as the epitome of "Yeah I'm probably bi but I have a job right now so i dont really care about that." (the job in question is trying to get into Angel's pants beat Angel). I actually think Lindsey might be the least repressed of the three, I think he's fully aware of the fact that he wants Angel, especially by S5 of AtS.
