“you’re right but i wanted you to feel better about it,” she hummed with a slight shrug and a soft smile before raising an eyebrow at the male with his next words. “how quickly you change your tune,” lily mused. she knew that even if they had a fight, greyson was not letting her go anywhere and that comforted her deeply, “what? you don’t want to live with my roommates or my parents?” as soon as he mentioned their home, she immediately begun thinking of prime real estate, “near the falls or closer to the town centre?”

Greyson only shook his head with a small laugh, stealing a glance to Lily. “I think you liked the whole chase of it.” He hums. In all honestly, so did Greyson. Girls and women usually came easy to him, there was no challenge to it. But Lily was a challenge and it’s what drew Greyson in, furthering his advances. “As lovely as they are, definitely not.” He chuckles with a shake of his head. “Can’t really walk around in the nude with your roommates or parents around.” He jokes before answering her next question with no hesitation, “The falls sounds nice, what do you think?”

“you definitely went after what you wanted. as much as it pained me to say no, i did think you were cute but i am a professional,” she hummed with a soft grin as she placed her handbag on her shoulder, taking a hold of his hand, squeezing it back whilst rolling her eyes fondly. “i was actually planning on raising the baby with someone else so a perfect suggestion,” lily teased with a slight grin before humming softly in content, “so you would willingly move?”

“Oh it pained you, did it?” Greyson asks with a laugh, thinking back to the time he first saw her. “I don’t know... didn’t look like it pained you to me.” Greyson’s shoulder comes up in a shrug as he laughs. “Oh yeah, no.” He shakes his head at the joking idea, “No, no, no. We’re not gonna do that.”  While Greyson loved the house he was in now, it came with a small problem and even more now, Greyson didn’t want Lily to deal with it. “As long as we find our own place, yeah. My house was getting a little crowded anyways.”

“well, technically, if you didn’t pursue me multiple times, i don’t think we would have ever gone out,” it was the truth after all; lily had said no while he was being treated in the hospital and then no when she found out he had become mayor. greyson had won her over. the blonde squeezed his hand gently before smiling warmly, “i know we haven’t eve discussed the future; we live separately and haven’t even discussed the idea of marriage but i’m happy. as cheesy as this is going to sound but for me, you’re it,”

“I’m a guy who goes after what he wants.” Once his eyes were set upon Lily, he knew she was the kind of person he wanted in his life. And something his mom and dad have taught him growing up is to go after what he wants, without crossing some lines that made it borderline creepy. “What were those words again though?” He pretends to think about it before suddenly, he “remembers” “Ah right! I told you so.” He shoots her a playful smirk. The whole “Future” talk was a big talk in a relationship, it was one he hasn’t touched base with with Lily but it was something he’s been thinking about. “So we’re going to continue to live separately when you have the baby right?” It was a joke, and it was only proven when Greyson cracks a smile with a laugh. Walking out of the cafe with Lily in tow, he stops and turns to look at her, taking her other hand in his free one. “In all seriousness though, you’re it for me too.” He hums, surety in his tone. “I want this.” He nods, “I want you, and I want our baby. Under a nice house of our own together.”

“sometimes i wonder how different our lives would have been if you weren’t interested in me,” she hummed with a slight furrow of her eyebrows as she imagined the scenario in her head. definitely not one she ever wanted to imagine. “maybe some pasta and cheesy garlic bread and i mean a lot of it as well,” after all, lily was now feeding for two. freezing in the spot, her brain short circuited as his words processed in her mind, “um… surprise?”

“That’s a life I don’t want to think about.” Though, if things with Lily and Greyson never really panned out, Lily wouldn’t be put into the position she was unwillingly and unknowingly put in because of his ex. A part of him hated himself for that. “My life is brighter with you in it.” It was the truth, after the accident Greyson had some pretty dark days but something about Lily shed some light into it. “Yeah I’d say.” He offered with a laugh, looking around the little cafe before back to Lily, “I’m guessing you didn’t mean to tell me that like that?” He hums before reaching for her hand. “How are you feeling? About it, I mean?”

“You’re not supposed to point out the flaws in my logic. You start doing that and soon enough it’ll become a full time job.” Coming up with something on the spot had never been her forte, she usually placed her bets on people not caring enough to question it. “Too bad we can’t get to the eternal life thing without dying first, seems like that’d be a bit of a downer. Why can’t we have all the good without the bad? That’s totally how life should work.”

“I’m pretty good at handling full time jobs.” He teased with a chuckle, “But for the sake of you, I’ll just let you have your logic.” Greyson looks around the store before his attention is drawn back to Courtney. The sudden shift in the conversation drifting to a more serious tone. “Yeah that’s a pretty heavy con.” Greyson would have rather not died, but it wasn’t something he could change now. And he’s had three years to get a handle on it. “I think it has something to do with balance? Yin and Yang? Or is that more logic?” he hums with a laugh.

“but i’m not normal people plus i was hungry,” the blonde hummed with a small smile and a shrug of her shoulders. “only if you stay and cook me some of that amazing food you make,” lily enjoyed cooking and baking for people but there were times where she enjoyed being the person receiving, “way too dangerous. if our child has your eyes, we are in for a ride,” not even realising what she had said as she stood up.

“Yeah I kind of knew that since day one.” One of the many things he liked about her. “Easy. Done. But you have to promise to leave that poor pastry alone.” He points to the torn up croissant. “What are you in the mood for?” Being the oldest usually meant Greyson did a lot of babysitting when his parents went out, which meant he did a lot of cooking for his siblings. Following her suit, Greyson went to reach for her hand before he froze. Did she even just realize what she said? “Our what?” He heard her, he just needed some kind of confirmation that he heard right.

“do you want the truth in an sweet or rhetorical tone?” she teased slightly with a raised eyebrow, “i like to think that you know me well enough to know that i have not gone home,” they had been dating for two years now and if greyson didn’t know lily by now, it might be time to rethink their relationship. shaking her blonde head softly before letting out a soft laugh, “no wonder you won mayor. just flash all the women and men that charming smile and we are all putty in your hands,”

“You know, when normal people are done with a twelve hour shift the first thing they do is go home to rest.” He gently teases her with a soft chuckle. “Come on, let me take you home so you can get some sleep before you have to pull another twelve.” He nods his head towards his car. “I had an inking I was elected for that very reason.”

“Last time I checked, Eve was at home hiding under blanket.” She quipped, it wasn’t a complete lie - her twin had been a little off lately, not that she knew why exactly - twin telepathy was apparently failing them lately. “You should be thanking me for hiding, nay, the town should be thanking me for hiding - I had a pretty nasty bug, can’t go around getting the mayor sick, can I? I doubt sick days are as fun when you’re missing a lot more important than math class.”  

"I’ll have to call mom and make sure she pours some cold water all over her then, I mean it’s only fair.” He teases with a laugh. “I think the town would have survived, cause you know, the Mayor can’t get sick.” Not unless he was poisoned and honestly, he wouldn’t be surprised if that happened. “Guess there is some pros to this eternal life thing.” He chuckles.

blue eyes blinked in confusion a few times before a warm smile graced her face as she realised who it was, “well, i did come off a twelve hour shift at the center,” lily hummed with a nod, “just a few things. nothing for you to worry about right now. how are you?”

“Have you... gone home to get any sleep?” The answer seemed like an obvious one, but Greyson could be wrong on an off chance. “You didn’t drive did you?” More than likely, Greyson would drive her home to make sure she made it home okay, and not fall asleep behind the wheel. “Right now?” Now his curiosity was on edge, but for the time being he let it subside. “I’m... okay.” he nods before flashing her his charming smile, “Better now.”

“Trust me, I know a thing or two about that doppelganger business. My dad has something to do with that mess. Do you happen to have one running around and is he single, and, hopefully into guys?” Alex questioned, dead serious. His sister’s baby daddy might be off limits, but there was nothing in the rule book about his doppelganger. It was hard to relate or sympathize when he would trade places with Greyson if he could, but he still tried his best to offer a comforting smile. “What problem? You can tell me. I love gossip, and also, I’m here for you and yada yada.” He gestured his hands as he spoke. He snorted, “The good kind of trouble, though. I wouldn’t mind some of those baby blue problems.” His whole body stiffened a little and he readjusted his posture, pondering on whether or not to open up. “Well, lately I’ve been–” He paused as he remembered the other’s position in the town and how he would be in serious trouble and shook his head. “It’s nothing. Just got ghosted by another guy, same old. Men are dicks, except for me, I’m lovely.”

"Wasn’t really his mess from what I’ve heard.” He just so happened to be born into it. The entire thing was far too messy for Greyson to really pay much attention to, it wasn’t his thing and it was something that was long over. “Not that I’ve seen... yet. You never know.” The laugh emits, “If I do though, you’ll be the first I tell -- after I process the fact that there’s a carbon copy of me strutting around.” As Alex is offering an ear about his problem, Greyson is already shaking his head. The last thing he needed to do was drag more people into it, give Ali the leverage she’d need over his head. “I’m sure you’ll hear all about it if I decide to go to the station about it, deputy.” Greyson shot him a small smirk. Though Greyson was sure if he went to the station about it he’d try to keep it on the down low as much as possible. He really didn’t need it getting back to Lily. “You mean to tell me that your own baby blues don’t get you into trouble?” The laugh falls as Greyson teases Alex playfully. While Greyson didn’t really buy him being ghosted as his actual problem, he didn’t prod. If it was something Greyson needed to know, or something Alex wanted to tell him -- he would have. “Hey.” He fakes offence, his hand going over his heart, “I’m fucking fantastic.” He chuckles before lightly pushing against Alex’s shoulder. “So fuck him.” Greyson shrugs, “Literally or not, your choice. But you don’t need anyone around that can just ghost you.”

“It’s weird to think about that– people living paralleled to us. Somewhere in that other dimension, some other dashing fella like me is having ice cream with the mayor.” he said half-jokingly. Alex finished his cone and wiped his slightly stained fingers on his deputy uniform. His mind often wandered to the tales of this other dimension and, sometimes, the supernatural. They were part of his life, but he never felt like a part of them. He was an outsider looking in and he worried someday he’d have to choose between his own kind and theirs. “Like you would know about problems.” he scoffed, then quickly added “Sorry, that came off a little ruder than I meant. But, come on, dude, your life is perfect. You’re the mayor, your eye are baby blue and you’ve got your shit together. We’re not the same.” He shook his head at the question but scrunched up his nose. “Nah, but it doesn’t matter. Everything is never okay. I’d be worried if it were.”

“You think that’s weird just wait until you run into two people who look exactly like each other down to every freckle but from different worlds entirely.” He knew about doppelgangers of course, his aunt was one of them. But they were all from the same world. He often thought about if everyone had someone looking exactly like them, just in a world they weren’t able to access. At Alex’s scoff, Greyson is lifting a brow in his direction with a laugh, shaking his head softly. “You only see that because that’s what I let people see. I’ll admit, my life isn’t terrible but there’s problems I have to deal with nearly everyday. Or more specifically a problem.” A massive one, but that was just small details. “These baby blue eyes happen to get me in trouble more than you know.” He offers a laugh then. “Well if it’s worrying you, or stressing you out it does matter.” Greyson comments, “You sure you don’t need help with anything?”

She’d spent the morning giving herself a mental pep talk, knowing she had to go outside considering if she tried to hide in her room much longer someone was bound to say something. So she painted her usual smile on her face, and headed towards the boutique. Busing herself with fixing the display, she glanced up when she heard the bell indicate someone had come in. “Hey! Do you need help with anything?” She called out before being able to really see who it was. @aeternumstarters​

Greyson was hardly the guy to go shopping for clothes or anything of the sort for Lily, that was something he did when she was with him. He’d just tell her to pick something out that she liked and he’d buy it no problem. It was easier that way. But today he didn’t have Lily with him, and he also wasn’t shopping. He just knew his sister would be in today so he thought to check in on her. “Ah I’m just looking for someone.. About five feet tall, blonde hair, likes to hide.”

lily was never the type of person to complain about what was happening in her life or even about her job but for some reason, today was different and all she wanted to do was hide under her blankets for the next few days. but the blonde sat at an empty table at the town house cafe, sipping on her hot chocolate and picking apart a croissant. the blonde was still clad in her scrubs and was far away in her thoughts that she didn’t notice someone in front of her before it was too late, “so sorry! were you saying something?”

The laugh is vibrating through his chest and emitting past his lips as he takes a hold of the back of a chair pulling it out before he takes a seat. “I was saying you look exhausted.” The second he walked into the cafe his eyes fell on Lily where she was staring blankly at the croissant that she had picked apart. “What’s on your mind?”

“Do you think they had soft serve back in that other dimension?” he mused as he took a lick of the dessert. Alex let out a long sigh and shook his head a little dismissively, embarrassed to have even brought up that topic of conversation. “Sorry, that was stupid. I just think about it sometimes– I wish I could go there. A clean slate sounds like heaven right now.”

A frown was set deep between Greyson’s brow as he was stuck in thought with his current problem. The question that hung in the air between the two was innocent enough to draw him out of his mind and offer Alex a half smirk as he looked over to him, “Probably. From what my mom said they got the town down to every little detail, I imagine food is the same.” And if they didn’t, they were missing out. Being Mayor, Greyson was approached daily with questions about being able to leave, or defeat the Salem witches and forcibly leave. People have tried, and people have gotten hurt because of it. It was always something Greyson would decide against. “I’m not so sure it would really be a clean slate.” He offers, “Problems just kinda.... follow you around.” That was putting it lightly. “Everything okay?”
