It was hard for him to get away, there was always something or somebody that needed his attention. He was always exhausted upon returning to his room, barely having the energy to undress. After he weakly threw his boots against the door, he fell back on the mattress. 

“Geshu Lin.” He didn’t even look up when you called his name, busy deflating into the far too firm bed. He listened as you stood his boots up properly, but only opened his eyes when the bed dipped beside him. “Pick up after yourself.”

Geshu Lin rolled onto his side, facing you with golden eyes partially obscured by his bangs. Though his tense posture relaxed when your lips pressed against his. He reached up, pushing some of his hair out of the way.

The long days, the battles, they were all worth it when he got to come back to base and kiss you. It was even better when you could both actually sleep together. Geshu Lin let you help him out of his gear, straps, bandages, his heavy outside clothing.

He relaxed against the pillows underneath the blanket, soon joined by you at his side.

It was his turn to lean down and kiss you, arm wrapping around you.

Geshu Lin tensed when he heard loud steps behind him, but relaxed when he saw a flash of your colour scheme. Your arms wrapped around him from behind, your head resting against his back.

“I'm working.”

But his reminder was met with a shrug.

“I finished unloading all the supply boxes. I deserve a break.” 

“And I still have to assign teams to the two nearby outbreaks.”

You slouched, bending your knees as you essentially fell down his back. “You're no fun sometimes, Geshu.” 

“Yes, yes. Just the worst. I'll make it up to you later.”

You straightened out and Geshu Lin turned his torso to properly look at you. He gripped your chin with his gloved hand, bending down to quickly kiss you. One that you eagerly returned with a smile.

You got to see a different side of Geshu Lin than others did. And it was this side of him that made your cheeks heat up and your heart skip a beat as you left him alone with his work.

You woke up with a start when somebody pounced on you. But your eyes met a familiar face and you relaxed, exhaling and rolling your eyes. But you couldn't help the slight smile pulling at the corners of your mouth.

“It's late, Geshu Lin.”

“I'm aware.” Geshu Lin snuck his way under the blankets, but he stayed on top of you, resting against your chest.

You tried to go back to sleep, but he started to trail kisses along your neck, each one warmer than the last. You sighed softly, tilting your head back for him. 

His hands ran up under your shirt, head lowering further to tug at the thin skin of your collarbone. The sensation elicited another soft sound and you could feel his smirk against your skin.

Best to use all the free time you got.
