Okay okay OKAY I was rewatching the jackie death dream and the lottie mall scene because these seem to be to most hmmmm this really feels like a ghost realm scenes we have right?? (Cabin guy, like why would Jackie OR shauna imagine cabin guy, shauna being shown as waking from it, indicated dream share, laura lee shoving lottie back into reality etc are you with me?) So of course I’m reeling about the Alice in wonderland ism of Lottie’s scene BUT but Jackie is offered hot chocolate and she TAKES A SIP and when she looks back to the group after that our ghosts appear and she’s cemented in death!! Laura Lee offers lottie food and she’s watching lottie anxiously and she says WAIT when Lottie’s about to eat and lottie doesn’t get a bite and Laura Lee has a sudden change in tone and she stands and she pushes her and lottie DOESN’T EAT!!! Alice and eat me and Persephone and pomegranate seeds and DO YOU SEE WHAT IM SAYING HERE CAUSE I FEEL INSANE ABOUT THIS

i’m not a dumbledore hater (i think he’s a complex individual doing what he thinks will save the most amount of people) but his decision to leave harry at the dursley’s was dumb af and not just for the obvious/most pressing reason of child abuse.

but for someone who tells harry time and time again that he’s so different than tom riddle, by leaving harry at the dursley’s, he actually created more parallels between the two. because of their awful home lives in the muggle world (where they were attached to no one), they both view hogwarts as their one true home and would do anything to stay there. we see in cos, when riddle’s diary shows harry the memory of hagrid’s expulsion, that harry relates to riddle asking to stay at hogwarts over the summer/riddle’s distress at hogwarts potentially closing (ofc it’s riddle’s fault that that’s happening).

like dumbledore is really lucky harry’s awful childhood didn’t keep him from developing empathy/attachment to others like riddle. like I get the point of leaving harry at the dursley’s was so harry would feel so grateful for hogwarts/the wizarding world that he would be willing to sacrifice himself + the blood protection, but I mean dumbledore was already 0-1 on the outcome of an unloved magic child who could speak to snakes growing up in the muggle world so he was kinda rolling the dice.

but I guess the question is would harry have grown up to be the kinda person willing to actually go through with sacrificing themselves to save everyone if he hadn’t grown up in the dursley’s household?

hi just so you know. if you’re like me and you’ve accepted ghost jackie into your heart and soul. just so you know, she’s fighting with god right now. in the 96 timeline’s right now, jackie taylor is literally arguing with god. whatever god exists in their world, whatever speaks for the wilderness, whatever hears them and they hear, whatever comes to them in near death dreams. that god. that god is getting an earful from one jackie taylor, who wants to care that shauna has done all that she’s done but can’t. not in any significant way. not in a way that stops everything in her from screaming to get back to her. because shauna needs her. jackie never failed to be there when shauna needed her. and she really doesn’t plan on starting now, so god is just going to have to figure it out or make an exception or fast track her in ghost-mortal communication education. whatever. but just know, that while shauna is burying her baby, while she’s sobbing for jackie in the meat shed, while she’s beating lottie to near death, while she’s sinking her knuckles into the snow, jackie is screaming at god.
