Like she trusts him and he doesn't trust her but he also sort of does and he hates her but doesn't want to ruin her rep and it confuses me.

he’s also like… he’s all about that “convict everyone so that no possibility of a bad guy walking free exists” philosophy but he also wasn’t trained by von Karma or anything so he’s not a career-ruining asshole

he really doesn’t want to make more enemies than he already thinks he has, so he doesn’t get much worse than “you suck and i’m the real attorney here” in court or out of it

he also doesn’t much like Lillian because she’s snotty and a defence attorney, but he did work this one case with her and i guess he sort of… respects her?

and then of course she defends him on his own murder charge which brings up a lot of conflicting feelings

in short, Prosecutor Prick isn’t an evil nasty prosecutor so much as a grouchy paranoid one. after all, it’s still phoenix deep down in there, somewhere.
