Зато Нокс умудрился поймать молнию!

Пришлось возвращаться в лагерь, чтобы перевести дух и отмыться от копоти. После целебной грязевой ванны Нокс почувствовал себя невероятно уверенным и готовым к любым подвигам.

Переодевшись в любимую рванину, Нокс с новыми силами продолжил заниматься собирательством и рыбалкой.

И вторая молния за этот день. М-м-м, как бодрит!

Сразу после этого у Нокса появилось желание восхищаться природой. У природы нет плохой погоды!

Когда я переключился с Нокса на Лилит, то обнаружил, что она тоже успела отхватить свою порцию электричества. А еще — наконец-то поймала дзен, перепачкавшись копотью.

Пока Нокс жарил пойманных окуней на гриле, Лилит абсолютно самостоят��льно отправилась на вечернюю прогулку по окрестностям лагеря. Что с тобой, Лилит? Я тебя не узнаю...

Судя по всему, у Лилит наступила стадия принятия неизбежного. Почему бы и не поиграть под дождем, если ничего другого не остается?

Welcome to Summer Friday in the Chill Valicer Save! Where, as stated in the final post of the last update, we have the gang sending off summer with a party that has always given me trouble for some reason. Let's dive right into it --

-->I started with the gang bumming around the house, as they do late at night – Smiler and Victor in the barn by Victor's cauldron, and Alice upstairs sitting at Smiler’s computer (she HAD been working on her next book, but the interaction had canceled out when I loaded back in). Deciding to start off right with some sweetness, I had Smiler give Victor a nice shoulder rub to help work out the kinks from all his potion experimenting, while Alice got to pet Shadow before being sent out to have some zoomies to lower her burgeoning Fury. Though, of course, the minute she got outside, it started raining. *shakehead* Sorry, Alice! She did have her umbrella, though, and she seemed to enjoy her jog even despite the miserable weather. :)

-->As she was leaving, though, I spotted two things on the front porch – a visiting Lilith Vatore, and a VERY angry red specter! As I’d put Smiler on “making computer chips” duty again (gotta save up for that Servo!), I had Victor go and take care of both after emptying his cauldron of his experimental liquid. First, he gave the specter a potion of good fortune to calm it down – fortunately, the angry little blob was very happy with its gift and gave him a Specter Sip in return before vanishing. He then said hi to Lilith and got to know her a little bit (apparently she’s fond of the color brown) – I was planning on having him invite her in so Smiler could chat with her once they were done making their computer chip, but right after the “what’s your favorite color?” question, Lilith decided she was done hanging out and super-speeded away. XD Well, okay then! I didn’t really want to deal with visitors right now anyway. :p

-->With Lilith gone, I put Victor back on experimenting with potions (he had to learn a few more recipes for his Potion Purveyor aspiration), and had Smiler tune up both the gardening bots (I was GOING to have them make a cybernetic arm, but first they didn’t have enough salvage parts, and then I realized “wait, that will waste items I want for the Servo, never mind”). Alice arrived back from her zoomies as this was going on with much lower Fury, but I figured dropping it even further wouldn’t be a bad idea and sent her upstairs to meditate (with her arm glitched in the “permanently holding an umbrella” animation, annoyingly – I had to reset her later to get it to unkink). After all, the main thing I wanted to do in this playsession was to have Smiler throw a party to celebrate the end of summer! Once she was settled, I thus had them open the calendar and look at the parties available –

And while I was tempted by the kegger, I realized that the better, more seasonally-appropriate option would be to have Smiler retry The Dreaded Weenie Roast. They've done one of these before at the house, but only managed to get Silver because they weren't able to complete the main objective of roasting weenies (because, at that time, I didn't know the stupid campfire doesn’t work correctly on a lot with the “Simple Living” lot trait). Having increased my general store of knowledge, though, I now knew they could get a Gold rank if I just had the party off-lot. So I had them invite their friends Cletus, Aleah, Sara Scott, and Knox Greenburg, designate Victor as their “grill master,” and set up the shingdig to start at Totter Park in Copperdale at 5 PM. :) With that settled, I set about having them finish off their bot tune-ups –

-->Only for the house to start making spooky noises again and knock everyone out of their assigned activities. I was a bit annoyed at first –

But then I realized I had an OPPORTUNITY here. I immediately had Victor and Smiler use their teleports to get up to the séance room (Alice was already in there, as that’s where her mediation stool is), then had them and Alice light all the sacred candles I’d set up around the séance table while I extinguished the lights in the room. With everything in place, I had them all sit around the table –

And cue Victor leading a BOSS-looking group ceremony to increase the house’s spiritual serenity in the light of the sacred candles, the soul scraps on the side table, and the moon salt lamp on the bizarre idol shelf. :D It was really freaking cool –

So cool, in fact, that I ended up taking some video of it. I mean, I just couldn’t resist – and besides, it’s hard to properly capture the flickering house lights effect in a screenshot. Unfortunately, when I uploaded it to YouTube, it ended up being rather blurry (top quality is apparently 360p – what I get for using the in-game video capture tool!), but if you still want to watch it, you can do so here: A Valicer Seance. As per the previous, there is a bit of flickering from the house lights, but I don’t think it’s enough to cause anyone any problems. Especially with how blurry the damn video is. Enjoy what you can!

Late Valentines post, but I decided to make it anyway. I've seen these posts and articles claiming there are seven different words for love in Greek, and I don't know if it's accurate, but personally I find the concept very appealing: different kinds of love, all equally valid and important 🥰

A verrrrrry festive post, yes! Gotta love these modern Love Day traditions, such as un-aliving nearly all of your ancestors, right? Right?

This post contains lots of descriptions and rambling so: info about the Owl family’s under the cut! (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

I really enjoyed building the lot! I published it with the empty building on the Gallery back in February so you can download it without any of my game’s influence - except for the Villareal family graves, but they don’t mean anything if they’re alive in your game! The lot looks kinda wonky on the Gallery pictures but the idea was that there’d be a biiig space for proper graves for the Owl family, a small area for pet graves (also made with platforms), and a place for the spouses (they deserve to be close). The rest is just props for other dead Sims. Bury them, remember them, celebrate what you had together!

So, it was finally time! All 12 generations - from Valentina to Aurelia - are gone. It took me around two full Sim days to OOF everyone - toddlers and pets included. I didn’t have that much patience or desire to do it naturally so I let myself download a Command Center mod and just end them this way. It didn’t always go as planned and the death options were kinda limited but you gotta do what you gotta do. The post limit is 10 pictures but I picked some of the ‘cooler’ ones, though I admit I wasn’t documenting it as much because after some time it felt very grotesque; even if it’s just a game, it felt a bit disrespectful. ๐·°(⋟﹏⋞)°·๐

In the end, nearly everyone is finally at peace - tho Max Villareal didn’t drop his urn after dying! I think one of Delphini’s kittens didn’t get a tombstone either since technically pets can’t die until they’re adults, at least from what I remember. Speaking about peace and eternal rest, most Sims who were connected to the Owls - so the Vatores, Behrs, significant friends etc. are gone too! As I mentioned in this post, I want to give more space to random Sims and try be somewhat consistent with who is still around in the world. They might be friends of the Owl family but none of them is immortal - not anymore at least! That means that when Ariel’s time eventually comes, her friends from her chess club will have to go too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Generation 13 and later ones (so starting with Hendrick and his descendands) are still alive, and I’m gonna keep them around until the next generation. I think I’ll do it in a way that the latest generation can have great grandparents - they’d just exist in the background, not to be seen that often, best case scenario. I like the idea that they’d come to birthday parties and what not, examples being Wren and Ariel’s birthday, Hendrick and Curtis’ wedding, and Deryn and Vanessa’s birthday, just to name the few! But I’ll really try to limit how many generations can be around - great grandparents are really pushing it so anything beyond this point is instantly gone.

It’s also tricky for me because I like to keep everyone in the same household as one entity but also go with generations - so for example I wouldn’t un-alive Hendrick and Curtis if Vanessa can’t go, but I don’t want Vanessa to go yet because I wish Deryn to go at the same time since they’re the same generation. But then what with Maria, also the same generation? And Ariel? I’ll have to think about it again soon, maybe I’ll go with households instead of generations after all - it just makes more sense... in a way!

So, that was a funny post! Pretty fitting for a mood before my defending my MA thesis this Friday. I cannot believe I managed to synchronise this post like this, I had a huge backlog of screenshots since early February! The timing is really hilarious. Well, maybe I’ll post a second “part” of this post after my exam to showcase how, uhm, cool (???) this cemetary looks. I think I did a pretty good job, it gives me this familiar vibe - Poles are pretty serious when it comes to the deceased etc. Please, look forward to it and pray for me on Friday!!

Townie Baby Challenge

Using a matriarch (or any sim that can get pregnant) try to have a baby with every single pre made townie in the game and raise those children to adulthood without them dying or being taken away. As more packs come out more townies and babies will be had.

Rules

Must have at least 1 baby with every pre made sim. This doesn’t count sims from the trailer on the gallery that gurus or maxis post. These sims must be already in the world and in everyone’s game.

Cheats can be used to change pregnancy ability of different sims.

Must start with average funds and build up house from there.

Cannot have a baby with the same sim twice.

Cannot marry until matriarch becomes and elder.

If child dies or is taken away, another baby with that child’s parent is needed. (If you have twins and one dies no need to do this).

Matriarch cannot get a job.

Toddlers must get all skills to level 3 to age up.

Children must get two skills to level 5 and get an A in school.

Teens must get an A in school and have two skills at level 5.

Skills should relate to parents traits. (Parents from a certain pack’s children should have skills from that pack).

Must wait until underage sims age up to young adult to have a baby with them.

If matriarch dies before finishing this then youngest daughter (or impregnable child) completes the challenge.

Нокс и Лилит не стали откладывать свадьбу в долгий ящик и решили пожениться через пару дней после начала их совместного проживания. Свадебную церемонию было решено проводить прямо во дворе домика Гринбергов, который будущие молодожены украсили разным живописным хламом, добытым на ближайшей свалке.

Гостей на этой свадьбе можно было в буквальном смысле пересчитать по пальцам. Были приглашены Тина и Ясемин Тинкеры, приятель Нокса Клет Гаррис и (внезапно!) Анжела Новосельских. Лилит позвала сестру на свадьбу исключительно затем, чтобы заставить ее чувствовать себя максимально неловко в окружении разных сомнительных личностей.

Какие же они сладкие пирожочки!

Сама церемония получилась очень красивой, трогательной и нежной.

Любуясь тем, как целуются новобрачные, гости последовали их примеру.

Изнывая от эвергринской жары, Анжела сменила коктейльное платье на легкий летний сарафан. А вот выражение ее лица при этом осталось без изменений. Ей не нравится эта свадьба, не нравятся эти персонажи, не нравится этот торт...

Ей вообще ничего здесь не нравится!

А в это время Лилит Гринберг усиленно налегала на шипучку. Быть молодой женой — нелегкий труд!..

Посреди танца Лилит вдруг остановилась и деревянной зомби-походкой зашагала в направлении столика с шипучкой. Я проверил ее мудлеты и не обнаружил там ничего, что могло бы хоть немного прояснить ситуацию. Женщина-загадка!

Давайте же выпьем!

Упс! Кажется, кто-то явно перебрал...

Кое-как придя в себя через полчаса, Лилит на последнем издыхании доползла до кровати и немедленно провалилась в сон. Ей совершенно точно было не до «Кролика общения»...

Бедному Ноксу ничего не оставалось делать, кроме как погладить червячка.

Типичная картина того, как выглядит место проведения свадьбы после окончания банкета.

Все гости уже давным-давно разошлись, и только Анжела Новосельских продолжала стоять, как истукан, возле стола с протухшими остатками блюд. Судя по всему, она ждала момента, когда проснется Лилит, чтобы высказать сестре все накопившиеся за этот день претензии.

Но вместо этого Лилит сама дала понять Анжеле, в каком направлении той следует поскорее убраться.

Вишенкой на этом свадебном торте вполне могла бы стать драка двух сестер, но, к счастью, до этого дело не дошло. Зато Лилит узнала о себе кое-что (относительно) новое.

Определенно, свадьба Нокса и Лилит — самая лучшая и правдоподобная из всех, которые когда-либо были у меня за все годы игры в The Sims!

Нокс: Жена рожает! Что делать?! Помогите!!!

Пересилив панику и собрав всю волю в кулак, Нокс вызвал такси и отвез Лилит в больницу Виллоу Крик.

Процесс пошел!

Когда рожала Джейд Виллареаль, ее муж Хьюго в это время играл в компьютерные игры, желая снять стресс. Нокс же изучает содержимое мусорных баков, вооружившись увеличительным стеклом.

И кто только пустил его в операционную?

В какой-то момент врачебное оборудование забарахлило, и я даже успел испугаться за судьбу роженицы и ее потомства.

Наконец-то мне удалось заскринить этот трогательный момент!

Лилит благополучно родила дочек-двойняшек — Джинджер и Бриджит (кто угадал отсылку, тот молодец). А еще у нас теперь есть новый памятный сувенир — картина «Счастливое детство».

Нокс уболтал жену на то, чтобы провести медовый месяц на природе.

Нокс: Помнишь прошлогодний День влюбленных? Лилит: Забудешь такое!.. Ты зачем-то потащил меня в лесную глушь и мы всё время ели сосиски с фасолью. Нокс: В этот раз всё будет гораздо круче! Середина лета — самый сезон для отдыха в Гранит Фоллз. Тепло, солнышко, свежий воздух — красота! Лилит: Так и быть, уговорил.

Лес встретил наших туристов холодным, неприветливым ливнем.

Едва увидев палаточный лагерь с удобствами на улице, Лилит впала в беспросветное уныние. Еще и этот дождь...

Первый семейный скандал.

Лилит: В какую ...опу ты опять меня привез?! В прошлый раз я едва не сошла с ума от холода и укусов гребанных насекомых! Неужели нельзя было арендовать хоть какой-нибудь вонючий домишко?

Высказав Ноксу всё, что она думает о нем и об их медовом месяце, Лилит отправилась дуться на мужа в палатке.

Что до Нокса, то он чувствовал себя в дождливом Гранит Фоллз буквально как рыба в воде.

Походный быт.

С каждой минутой, проведенной на природе, Лилит все отчаяннее рвалась домой.

Нокс: Прости меня! Обещаю, я сделаю всё для того, чтобы тебе понравился наш медовый месяц...

Устав от безуспешных попыток ободрить жену, Нокс отправился в одиночную пешую прогулку по лесу, прихватив с собой зонтик.

Чтобы всё это безобразие закончилось как можно скорее, Лилит решила проводить как можно больше времени во сне.

Дикие пчёлы! Какой восторг!

Что может быть лучше физических упражнений на свежем воздухе?

Устав от бесцельного лежания, Лилит выбралась из палатки и присела рядышком. Снаружи было всё так же гадко — дождь, насекомые, отвратительный запах из находящихся поодаль кустов...

В надежде обрести дзен Лилит прилегла на промокшее до нитки пляжное полотенце, позволив дождю свободно омывать ее скорбное лицо и страдающее тело. Рядом с ней свернулась клубком какая-то беленькая лисичка. Песец, не иначе!

Через минуту выяснилось, что лисичка пришла... умирать. Вот уж действительно — полный песец.

Лилит решила достойно проводить бедно�� животное в последний путь и исполнила грустную песню, аккомпанируя себе на гитаре. Мрачному Жнецу песня понравилась, и он дал девушке немного чаевых, после чего растворился в воздухе.

А в это время Нокс вернулся с прогулки и принялся как мог развлекать свою печальную жену.

Безудержное веселье...

Решив по мере возможности освободить Лилит от хозяйственных хлопот, Нокс самостоятельно приготовил изысканный ужин из того, что нашлось у него в рюкзаке.

Оказалось, что любимый напиток Лилит — коктейль «Кровавая Маня», от которого большинство персонажей испытывает тошноту. Конечно же, Лилит не оказалась исключением и весь остаток вечера промучилась желудком. А еще она постоянно хотела валяться на мокром полотенце под дождем, и я едва успевал отменять это действие...

Нокс: Дождь меня мочит, дождь мне как душ! Лилит: Нокс, что ты делаешь, прекрати...

Нокс возлагал большие надежды на то, что страстный ву-ху в палатке поможет Лилит проникнуться первобытным духом свободы и хотя бы чуть-чуть полюбить природу.

Увы, результат оказался прямо противоположным — Лилит окончательно убедилась в том, что все эти телячьи нежности совсем не для нее. Начало медового месяца стало первым серьезным испытанием для молодой семьи Гринберг...

А если дела обстоят именно так, то почему бы не начать новую главу жизни с чистого листа?

Конечно же, при выборе нового места жительства не обошлось без споров и разногласий: Лилит хотела жить в Винденбурге, а Нокс присматривался к Хэнфорд-Он-Бэгли. В конце концов Гринберги пришли к компромиссу, остановив свой выбор на крошечном городке под названием Мунвуд Милл, расположенном неподалеку от дикого леса. Нетрудно догадаться, что в Мунвуд Милл Нокса привлекла хорошая экологическая обстановка и близость к природе, а Лилит — возможность проводить свои дни в уединении, тишине и покое.

Мунвуд Милл окружает дикая местность, а сам город может похвастаться редкой фауной и флорой вроде лунной рыбы и луноцвета, так что это место обязательно понравится всем любителям природы.

Эти слова, прочитанные Ноксом в «Симпедии», стали решающим аргументом в пользу приобретения собственного дома в Мунвуд Милл. Он будет изучать экзотические растения, Лилит — писать свои потрясающие картины, а девочки смогут вольготно расти на свежем воздухе. Пролистав объявления о продаже жилья, Гринберги остановили свой выбор на небольшом семейном домике с поэтическим названием «Новолуние».
