Based off of one of your posts. I hope you like it.
Hold up...a concept...Queen Essence's handmaids or fashion designers singing "Upgrade U" by Beyonce when working on a teen Quincy's wardrobe and making him over for dinner with Essence and her parents.
////////////
Essence shifted from foot to foot as she waited by her apartment for Quincy. They have been dating for almost two years. She never realized how serious the two had become until he sang lead for his first song and he asked if he sang well enough now to be her king. Essence had told him he’d have to meet her parents, but he was on the right track. After that, she realized it was time for him to meet her parents and made a reservation for their favorite homey restaurant in their hidden section.
The only thing to take care of was Quincy’s
eccentric outfit choices. Sure he could pull off the loose side tie, and long footless socks, the messy hair was adorable, but that wasn’t going to cut it to meet her parents.
Five minutes before she told him to meet her at her apartment and she saw the walking fashion disaster. He had tightened his tie, slicked his hair back, and changed his socks to bands. Essence knew she made the right choice in having him meet her early.
“I’m not late, am I?” Quincy painted.
“Nope, early as always,” Essence kissed his cheek, “I hope you had a snack first because dinner is in a few hours. We need to take care of something first.”
Quincy smiled and started blushing when Essence led him into her apartment by his tie. The smile fell and eyebrows crinkled together when he saw a group of four girls in her spacious apartment. “I didn’t know you had roommates.”
“They're my handmaidens, they help me get ready for big events and make my clothes. Today, they're helping you,” Essence pushed Quincy into them and they circled around him, picking at his clothes and hair, “ladies, this is my fashion disaster boyfriend, Quincy.”
“I thought you liked my style,” Quincy pouted as one of the girls started measuring him and another took off his tie.
“It’s adorable, but this is the king and queen of funk, your adorable won't cut it,” Essence grabbed the tie that was tossed to her, “besides, why would you think a straight cut tie and slicked back hair would look good?”
“We’ll take good care of him,” the lead waved Essence off to her own bedroom as the girls ushered him into the bathroom to get out whatever gunk he put in his hair. “You should be flattered. Essence seems to really like you. I mean, no boy has lasted a month with her before. She has talked to us about you and it seems the only upgrading that needs to be done is singing and fashion.”
“Which is a far cry from the king if I remember right, Queen Starr had to teach that man some manners,” a second handmaiden chuckled as she turned on the music.
“Let us upgrade you,” The leader smiled and started taking out the braids on half of Quincy’s head, straightening it so the multi colored hair stuck out.
“How you going ta upgrade me,” Quincy took a step back, only to get his head pushed up so one of them could trim his fur.
“Daw, he has an accent when he’s nervous,” they cooed before they started singing and working on his makeover.
“Come harder, This won't be easy, Don't doubt yourself, Trust me, you need me,” the leader tossed the arm bands aside, “This ain't a shoulder with a chip, Or a ego, But what you think they called me for?”
“You need a real woman in your life,” the leader held up some hair clips.
“That's a good look,” the girls chorused back.
“Taking care of home and still fly,” they tackled his eyebrows while another fixed up his growing beard.
“That's a good look.”
“Believe me.” the leader pat his face and they took a step back. They dragged him back into the main room.
“Partner let me upgrade you, Audemars Piguet you, Switching necktie to purple labels,” Essence had left the discarded tie on a chair. The leader waved it in his face before tossing it. They slipped some rings on his fingers and out came the tinsel. It was only a few shimmery neck pieces, nothing terribly fancy, but Quincy took a step back. Only the high class, lead singers, first rate funk trolls wore tinsel and Quincy was hit hard with the realization that he had somehow charmed the princess of funk. He was so out of his league as a third rate backup dancer.
"Upgrade u, I can up, can I up, Let me upgrade u, Partner let me upgrade u," the leader smiled at him, her hand on his shoulder. She nodded before clasping the tinsel bit around his neck. Only a few more tweaks were done as the song continued on.
When the song ended, the handmaidens appreciated their handy work. "Not a bad look for a walking fashion disaster, lets see what Essence has to say about it. "
The leader sauntered to Essence bedroom and knocked. Essence came out, straightening her own silver tinsel and stopped when she saw Quincy.
He still had his beard, Essence was ecstatic they let him keep it, but it had been shaped. His hair was now half dreads and half straight, Essence was already fantasizing running her fingers in it. It took a minute for her to even see the tinsel they put on him, she was too busy mapping his face, "gold nice." Essence went over and kissed Quincy on the lips, "sorry I sicked the wolves on you, but you look great."
"You better be planning on marrying me," Quincy chuckled and nuzzled her, "I'd hate to think this work going to another girl."
"Try not to make a fool of yourself at dinner and you can almost guarantee there will be a wedding in our future," Essence kissed his cheek before walking to the door.
"To each other, right?" Quincy raced to open the door first.
The handmaidens laughed and cooed at him.
"With the effort I've put in you? I won't let another reap my rewards."

Dude this is absolutely AWESOME! KICKIN! JUST SO DANG GOOD!

How do you think how Ori would do as a villain?
In my view, Orihime’s pathway to villainy would be using her powers to reject all the events that get in the way of her getting what she wants (which is to say, mostly Ichigo). In other words, going Full Spooky Galadriel and deciding, “In place of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen! [
] All shall love me and despair!”
Now, she could settle for the present where Ichigo already knows Rukia, and Aizen and Yhwach are off the board, but we already know what that yields because of 686: a universe where Ichigo is at his absolute happiest when he just sees Rukia again and argues with her, rather than when he marries Orihime or she gives birth to their son, or whatever typical things might be cited as the happiest moments of one’s life. And, honestly? From Orihime’s perspective? That must really fucking suck.
So, if Orihime is going Full Spooky Galadriel (Orihime Untethered), why would she settle? Surely she can do better than that. And the simplest way to do better would be deleting Yhwach and Aizen at the right times in history.
The right time for the former would be during the late 1980s or early 1990s, and would keep Masaki alive and fundamentally alter Ichigo as a character (probably significantly dulling his focus on protection and removing his disaffection), and removes future problems associated with the Quincy coming back.
Doing the latter could only be done in the latter-half of the 1980s, after Ichigo had been conceived, but before Aizen set any of his other plans in motion. So the Visored and Urahara Shop would still be around, and Kaien and Miyako would still be dead. Regardless, doing this would keep him from doing what he did with Rukia.
Trouble is, the Hougyoku is already in Rukia’s soul by that time. And it seems highly likely that Aizen did not “send” Rukia to Ichigo, but rather that the Hougyoku bent Aizen’s machinations so that it happened. (Why would Aizen be immune to the Hougyoku’s effects?) In other words, the Hougyoku being stuffed in Rukia’s soul makes it seem likely that Rukia would still encounter Ichigo eventually, regardless of how normal and happy his life was, because their encounter is essentially fated. (Kaien more than likely reminds Rukia of Ichigo, in a non-linear framework, rather than Ichigo reminded Rukia of Kaien.)
So the trouble for Orihime Untethered is that she has to:
Delete two of the most powerful dudes in the series (admittedly not at their strongest) to get a lock on the guy she wants (i.e., by removing “incentives” for him to not want to be human, and to remove her main competition) when her powers don’t work on any sufficiently powerful reiatsu.
Her main competition still having a reality-altering device shoved into her soul which may or may not be beyond Orihime’s powers to mess with even if she could kill a merely Shinigami Aizen and a comatose Yhwach. (As it was never made clear whether she actually could destroy the incomplete Hougyoku with her powers, and it sure seems like Aizen is impossible to destroy with one in him in the present.)
So the question here is: where does Orihime Untethered get the kind of monstrous power that would be necessary for such feats? And the only place she could reasonably get it from would probably be if Uryuu decided to somehow lend her the power by going beast mode in a reishi rich environment.
Whether Uryuu is stupid enough to do that for her without knowing what she really intends, for the sake of making her happy even if he’s not in the picture at all, is an open question. (Perhaps yes, because Uryuu can be dumb like that.)
So, Aizen and Yhwach get deleted and the Hougyoku is plucked out of Rukia. (I feel it’d be going a bit far for even Orihime Untethered to delete Rukia, and I really don’t think Uryuu would agree to that.) This of course means it is never around to be in proximity to Orihime herself and Chad, so she is also retroactively keeping herself from getting powers in the first place.
Oh, that’s a problem. It’s a one-way ticket. This isn’t Donnie Darko or The Butterfly Effect: if your powers get deleted from the timestream you can’t get them back and you’re stuck. Ooh. So maybe don’t delete the Hougyoku from Rukia, even if you can. But doesn’t that then mean you’re relying on encountering her
?
Masaki would probably teach Ichigo about Quincy powers once he was of age, so he’d probably have noticed and gravitated toward Uryuu in school?
But the thing is, even if Masaki (and Kanae) didn’t die, Souken still did. So Uryuu would still become bitter toward Shinigami. Maybe he would turn Ichigo onto that way of thinking too? So they probably still become embroiled with Soul Society.
Okay, so Orihime has to have deleted Mayuri too now, to keep Souken alive and keep Uryuu and Ichigo from fighting against Shinigami. Uryuu in the present giving her the power to change shit carte blanche would probably be cool with that.
So, Souken is alive too. His big thing was cooperation with Shinigami. Working with them to eliminate Hollows in a non-destructive way while protecting humans. His proposal seemed to have been working at least a little.
What’s to say that Rukia isn’t sent as Soul Society’s representative as part of that program? Or one of the people sent? Or that she isn’t sent to walk the beat in Karakura anyway, since it seems to be the 13th Division’s responsibility? Especially so if she still has the Hougyoku in her, warping events around to take her to Ichigo?
So, there’s Quincy Uryuu and Quincy Ichigo (with latent Shinigami and Hollow powers
) working with Shinigami, including maybe Rukia. If Rukia didn’t have the Hougyoku, and turned up like this, Orihime would have no ability to get her powers back and keep up. If you can’t get powers then can’t keep up if Ichigo and Uryuu start getting adventurous in this new, happier Bleach with more functional familial and friendly relationships. So she needs the Hougyoku to still be in Rukia no matter what.
She can’t remove the Hougyoku from Rukia, let alone delete her even if she wanted to, and her having the Hougyoku means she is almost assuredly going to show up. (Plus, even if you could delete her, karma is a bitch. Who’s to say she wouldn’t reincarnate even if you did delete her? Especially if you do it too early? She might just Senna her way back. Hell, even if it works, maybe Senna herself shows up to take her place! Especially since a lot of the filler is now being treated as semi-canonical.)
So, we go around in circles with the real problems.
The first real problem for Orihime Untethered is ultimately that Rukia is absolutely necessary to her own ability to have a role in Ichigo’s supernatural nonsense. Meanwhile, she can’t really strip Ichigo of powers because they’re fundamental to who he is. So there is no way to really undo things when it comes to either of them directly, just the things around them. Ichigo and Rukia are effectively “status locked” in a fashion similar to Doctor Who’s “time locked” concept.
The second real problem is that even without Aizen and Mayuri, Soul Society is still its corrupt self and likely to draw the Kurosaki and Ishida into its shenanigans. And even if Yhwach is eliminated, Wandenreich is also still out there. As are all the Espada. So some version of supernatural nonsense is basically guaranteed to happen, no matter how many other pieces you knock down.
At the end of the day, Ichigo and Rukia are going to meet. They are going to have adventures. They are going to develop a rapport. And her only real solution is going to be social engineering, not her powers. And the truth is, Orihime isn’t really that great at the Mean Girls game, and I doubt Orihime Untethered is either.
I see her trying to force, as much as possible, the series into being a slice-of-life school comedy series, and it kind of playing out like Groundhog Day as she selectively undoes things and redoes scenarios, and it just never works out. And that leads back to the fundamental issue she’s encountering: she is trying to fuck with something that is more or less written into the fundamental laws of the universe itself.
Even if she gets Ichigo, it’s always going to be some form of settling for less. She is always going to be the second-place prize. And she is also likely to be only a temporary one, because if souls are kicking around at a rate of aging ~30 years per 2000 years that pass, an awful lot can change. And that’s before taking into account the confirmed mechanic of reincarnation.
(And this is, ultimately, why 686 is stupid in addition to being a non sequitur: okay, IH and RR had kids. So fucking what? Divorces happen. People can change, grow apart, and move on. As I said once before, what is “five lifetimes” in comparison to like, 5000 years? Or an infinite cycle of maximally 5000 year reincarnations? Barring their souls being killed somehow, Ichigo and Rukia are going to be around for longer into the future than we are now from when the Pyramids were built. You think some possibly expedient marriages are going to keep them apart all that time? Or into their next lives? Yeah, no. That’s the thing: their story isn’t over even if Bleach is. That’s yet another reason that ending is so shit beyond its character assassination and ass-pull pairings: literally anything could happen beyond it. It is not definitive because these are not normal-ass normal people.)
So what does she do, trapped in this hell of her own creation? As I see it, she has three options:
She goes completely crazy and decides to delete existence itself or massively restructure it a la Yhwach. I also really don’t think Uryuu would agree to that and I can see it ending rather tragically.
She decides to just accept being second-best with a smile until it eventually burns her out, at which point she probably tries to find someone who actually appreciates her. (One guess as to who that is.)
She skips being miserable and instead grows up and realizes that Ichigo is never going to be as happy with her as he is with Rukia, and that she needs to find that person immediately rather than wasting everyone’s time, including her own.
So we’ll call (1) the really angsty ending, discard (2) because it’s just a drawn out and angsty version of (3) which admittedly a lot of real people fall into, and we’ll call (3) the happy ending because hey, at least Orihime’s selfish efforts to rewrite the timeline would have improved the pile of shit that is life in Bleach by restoring some sense of family bonds and healthy relationships.

Ongoing Undeclared Naval War
Jay’s Treaty Explained: US History Review
During the administration of President John Adams, the United States was engaged in an ongoing, undeclared naval war with France over neutral shipping rights. French naval vessels and privateers seized hundreds of American vessels, like the frigate Philadelphia pictured here, while the United States struggled to build a navy capable of defending its commerce.

The Partisan Effects Of War And Peace With France
Jeffersons prediction was accurate: Adams presidency turned out to be one long and thankless struggle to settle American differences with France. In the end, Adams was successful in his efforts to make peace, but his hopes to keep the presidency above party battles were disappointed, since his efforts were rewarded with electoral defeat in 1800 by Jefferson, who was willing, by then even eager, to make the presidency subject to all the vices;and virtues of the new kind of partisanship. Adams presidency was the first one-term presidency in American history. Indeed, it was the only one-term presidency until his son John Quincy matched this experience in 1825-1829.
Adams never had illusions about the chances for successful republican government in France. He judged these to be about as great as the chances of a snowball surviving a week in the streets of Philadelphia under a burning sun. But in his Inaugural Address, Adamsin addition to reassuring everyone that he harbored no desire to change the presidency or Senate into more permanent offices clearly stated his intention to engage France in amicable negotiation. And Adams persisted in this intention throughout his four years in office, even in the face of the French governments maritime aggressions and insulting and duplicitous treatment of American diplomats.
Chapter : Foreign Affairs Delay The Republican Victory
Republicans believed they had won the House elections of 1792, and hoped that this would be sufficient to achieve their goal of ridding the federal government of anti-republican policies, and therefore that principled partisanship would not need to be repeated. But things did not work out that way, so Republicans not only had to repeat their victory of 1792 in later House elections, but also had to gain control of the presidency and the Senate, before they could achieve this aim. From 1793 to 1800, foreign policy disputes and their domestic repercussions erupted onto the scene even before the Republican-controlled House produced by the elections of 1792 convened. This eruption showed that the Republicans had to make a more sustained and more comprehensive partisan challenge to Federalist control of the federal government. The events of 1793-1800 had the effect of making this partisanship seem more necessary, even though these events also made both parties more deeply and bitterly opposed to each other.

The Significance Of Jays Treaty
Jays Treaty of 1794 would have great significance in shaping the United States over the subsequent years. Although the Jeffersonians were defeated in their opposition to the treaty, the group showed organization and coordination on levels unseen before.
Many historians believe the outcry and protests over Jays Treaty are what moved the political sides further away from each other. Whereas before political parties were loosely defined and unorganized, the treaty provided the grounds for partisan divisions and for the political parties to become more organized.
The timing also coincided with the 1796 presidential election, the first one without George Washington. Though Washington warned against a two party system in his farewell address, the dissatisfaction with Jays treaty is believed to have aided in the establishment of the long-lasting dynamic.
While the uproar over the initial terms of the treaty were somewhat justified, the arbitration commissions appeared to work out quite well for the United States.
It would take nearly a decade, but Britain would eventually pay the US ~$11.7M for the interference in American shipping. The US also agreed to pay Britain ~600,000 pounds for pre-revolution debts. The northeast boundary was also officially settled in 1802.
Jays Treaty also had severe ramifications for the US relationship with France. The treaty all but nullified the American alliance with France signed in 1778 following the 1777 Battle of Saratoga.
The Citizen Gent Affair And Jays Treaty
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 1793, the revolutionary French government sent Edmond-Charles GenĂȘt to the United States to negotiate an alliance with the U.S. government. France empowered GenĂȘt to issue letters of marquedocuments authorizing ships and their crews to engage in piracyto allow him to arm captured British ships in American ports with U.S. soldiers. GenĂȘt arrived in Charleston, South Carolina, amid great Democratic-Republican fanfare. He immediately began commissioning American privateer ships and organizing volunteer American militias to attack Spanish holdings in the Americas, then traveled to Philadelphia, gathering support for the French cause along the way. President Washington and Hamilton denounced GenĂȘt, knowing his actions threatened to pull the United States into a war with Great Britain. The Citizen GenĂȘt affair, as it became known, spurred Great Britain to instruct its naval commanders in the West Indies to seize all ships trading with the French. The British captured hundreds of American ships and their cargoes, increasing the possibility of war between the two countries.
Jays Treaty confirmed the fears of Democratic-Republicans, who saw it as a betrayal of republican France, cementing the idea that the Federalists favored aristocracy and monarchy. Partisan American newspapers tried to sway public opinion, while the skillful writing of Hamilton, who published a number of essays on the subject, explained the benefits of commerce with Great Britain.

V Rights And Compromises
Although debates continued, Washingtons election as president cemented the Constitutions authority. By 1793, the term Anti-Federalist would be essentially meaningless. Yet the debates produced a piece of the Constitution that seems irreplaceable today. Ten amendments were added in 1791. Together, they constitute the Bill of Rights. James Madison, against his original wishes, supported these amendments as an act of political compromise and necessity. He had won election to the House of Representatives only by promising his Virginia constituents such a list of rights.
There was much the Bill of Rights did not cover. Women found no special protections or guarantee of a voice in government. Many states continued to restrict voting only to men who owned significant amounts of property. And slavery not only continued to exist; it was condoned and protected by the Constitution.
The ban on the slave trade, however, lacked effective enforcement measures and funding. Moreover, instead of freeing illegally imported Africans, the act left their fate to the individual states, and many of those states simply sold intercepted enslaved people at auction. Thus, the ban preserved the logic of property ownership in human beings. The new federal government protected slavery as much as it expanded democratic rights and privileges for white men.14
The Partisan Effects Of The Jay Treaty
Confounding Jeffersons assurance, the long delay between the elections and the resulting congress again introduced a new issue that weakened Republicans both in congress and in the country. A furious public outcry against the Jay Treaty began even before the Senate had approved it and its contents were fully leaked to the Republican press in June 1795. For several months, the treaty was very unpopular, because its settlement of issues between Britain and America seemed too favorable to British interests, and because it ruled out the Republicans favored option of starting a trade war with Britain. Threatening crowds assembled around Washingtons house in Philadelphia, demanding war with England and support for France. Other cities witnessed similar passionate scenes. Jays effigy and copies of the Treaty were burned; rioters attacked the British ministers house; Hamilton was hit by a stone when he spoke in favor of the Treaty. The Senates approval of the Treaty was condemned as proof of the existence of an American aristocracy organized on the basis of Hamiltons funding system.

Us Response And Politics
The American public was outraged, especially by Britains seizure of American ships, cargo, and impressment of sailors. In Congress, Thomas Jefferson demanded the passage of a declaration of war. James Madison, however, called for a trade embargo on all British goods as a more moderate response. At the same time, British officials made matters even worse by selling rifles and other weapons to the First Nations Indian tribes near the CanadianAmerican border and telling their leaders that they no longer needed to respect the border.
American political leaders were bitterly divided on how to respond. Led by Jefferson and Madison, the Democratic-Republicans favored aiding the French in its war with Britain. However, Hamiltons Federalists argued that negotiating for peaceful relations with Britainespecially trade relationscould turn the British into a lasting and powerful ally. President George Washington agreed with Hamilton and sent Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Jay to London to negotiate an all-encompassing treatyJays Treaty.
Jays Treaty And Indian Rights
Jay’s Treaty and John Adams’ Presidency Screencast
Article III of Jays Treaty granted all Indians, American citizens, and Canadian subjects the perpetual right to freely travel between the United States and Canada, then a British territory, for purposes travel or trade. Since then, the United States has honored this agreement by codifying its provision in Section 289 of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, as amended. As a result of Jays Treaty, Native Indians born in Canada are therefore entitled to enter the United States for the purpose of employment, study, retirement, investing, and/or immigration. Today, Article III of Jays Treaty is cited as the basis of many legal claims filed against the U.S. and Canadian governments by Indians and Indian tribes.

What Were Thomas Jefferson And Alexander Hamiltons Views On How The Us Should Develop
Thus they favored states rights. They were strongest in the South. Hamiltons great aim was more efficient organization, whereas Jefferson once said, I am not a friend to a very energetic government. Hamilton feared anarchy and thought in terms of order; Jefferson feared tyranny and thought in terms of freedom.
The French Revolutions Caribbean Legacy
An 1802 portrait shows Toussaint LOuverture, Chef des Noirs Insurgés de Saint Domingue , mounted and armed in an elaborate uniform.
Unlike the American Revolution, which ultimately strengthened the institution of slavery and the powers of American slaveholders, the French Revolution inspired slave rebellions in the Caribbean, including a 1791 slave uprising in the French colony of Saint-Domingue . Thousands of slaves joined together to overthrow the brutal system of slavery. They took control of a large section of the island, burning sugar plantations and killing the white planters who had forced them to labor under the lash.
In 1794, French revolutionaries abolished slavery in the French empire, and both Spain and England attacked Saint-Domingue, hoping to add the colony to their own empires. Toussaint LOuverture, a former domestic slave, emerged as the leader in the fight against Spain and England to secure a Haiti free of slavery and further European colonialism. Because revolutionary France had abolished slavery, Toussaint aligned himself with France, hoping to keep Spain and England at bay.

Republican Party Christened By James Madison
In September 1792, James Madison coined the term Republican Party in an essay, A Candid State of Parties, published in the National Gazette of Philadelphia. Although the Jeffersonian-Republican Party drew strength from the Anti-Federalists, no one had more claim to the authorship of the federal Constitution than did Madison, one of the founders of the Jeffersonian-Republican Party.

Effects Of The Treaty
Traditionally considered a diplomatic failure or a bad bargain by most scholars, Jays Treaty has never seemed to overcome its initial unpopularity. Recently, however, historians have argued that Jays Treaty was a notable attempt by America to avoid war and long-term instability until the nation was prepared for it. As a fledgling republic, the United States had no effective navy and only a small standing army, and was isolated from the entanglements in Europe that had led to wars and violence throughout the Atlantic. Indeed, the controversial aspects of the treaty revolved not around the give-and-take terms that were to be expected from any diplomatic compromises, but rather around the outbreak of political hostilities between Federalists and Democrat-Republicans. Their polarized views of Americas foreign presence proscribed any agreement on international conduct during this tumultuous period.
George Washington Commander In Chief
George Washington , a Virginia planter and veteran of America’s frontier wars, was revolutionary America’s only commander of all military forces throughout the eight-year war for independence. His leadership during the Revolution led to his election as the first president of the United States .

Don’t Miss: How Many States Are Controlled By Republicans
International Issues Driving Jays Treaty
After the American Revolutionary War ended, tensions between the United States and Great Britain remained understandably high. Specifically, three main issues remained unresolved even after the 1783 Treaty of Paris had ended military hostilities:
Goods exported from America were still being blocked by Britains wartime trade restrictions and tariffs. At the same time, British imports were flooding American markets, leaving the U.S. facing a significant trade deficit.;;
British troops were still occupying several forts on U.S.-claimed territory from the Great Lakes region to modern-day Ohio, which they had agreed to vacate in the Treaty of Paris. The British occupation of the forts left American frontier settlers living in those territories open to recurrent attacks by Indian tribes.
Britain continued to seize American ships carrying military supplies and force or impress the American sailors into the service of the British Royal Navy to fight against France.
When France went to war with Great Britain in 1793, the long period of global peace that had helped the newly-independent United States flourish in both trade and revenue ended. Americas intent to remain neutral in the European war was tested when between 1793 and 1801, the British Royal Navy, without warning, captured nearly 250 American merchant ships carrying goods from French colonies in the West Indies.

Jay Treaty
Within a decade of deciding to move the new federal capital to the banks of the Potomac River, what became known as Washington, District of Columbia began to emerge out of partisan politics and a tidal marsh. The federal city had just begun to take shape when the government moved here in 1800. This engraving provides a view of the waterfront at Georgetown, then a suburb of Washington.

Amending The Body Of The Constitution
A committee of the House of Representatives appointed by James Madison originally envisioned that amendments on individual rights would be incorporated into the body of the Constitution, not appended as a supplement. This July 28, 1789, committee report presented by John Vining of Delaware clearly shows the incorporation plan with the rights scattered throughout the Constitution.

Impact And Legacy Of Jays Treaty
Historians generally agree that in terms of modern international diplomacy, Jay got the short end of the stick, by having achieved only two minor immediate concessions from the British. However, as Historian Marshall Smelser points out, Jays Treaty did achieve President Washingtons primary goalpreventing another war with Great Britain, or at least delaying that war until the United States could become financially, politically, and militarily able to fight it.;
In 1955, historian Bradford Perkins concluded that Jays treaty brought the United States and Great Britain from within a swords point of war in 1794 to the brink of the true and lasting friendship and cooperation that endures today. Through a decade of world war and peace, successive governments on both sides of the Atlantic were able to bring about and preserve a cordiality which often approached genuine friendship, he wrote.;

What rate hike? Fed may have to cut if Trump can't boost economy
The Federal Reserve didn’t raise interest rates on Wednesday, but it is still likely to do so at least one (if not two) more times this year.
Or so, Wall Street thinks.

But what happens if President Trump is not able to push any meaningful legislation through Congress this year?
In particular, if he’s unsuccessful in getting tax reform done, is there any chance the economy could keep growing at a healthy rate?
Or will the U.S. be doomed to another few quarters of sluggish and subpar growth like the meager 0.7% annualized rate that the economy put up in the first quarter?
It could be difficult, if not impossible, for the economy to rise anywhere near the 3% rate that many in the Trump administration are hoping for, without tax reform.

And it may be even more of a challenge to get to that level if Trump and Congress are unable to repeal and replace Obamacare, undo the Dodd-Frank financial reform laws, or pass a stimulus package that boosts infrastructure spending sometime this year.
Enter Janet Yellen.
The Fed chief might have to hop into a phone booth (assuming she can find one) and change into her Super Central Banker costume.
Bruce Bittles, chief investment strategist at Baird, argues that the Fed may need to slow down the pace of rate hikes in the event that Trump and Congress fail to do anything soon.
Bittles added that the Fed may even have to start cutting rates again if the economy suddenly loses steam.
The encouraging news though is that many consumers and businesses have expressed more confidence in the economy since Trump’s victory.
But the bad news is that these good economic vibrations aren’t giving people enough excitations to start buying more just yet.

The so-called soft data — readings about sentiment — are improving. But hard data, such as actual dollars spent, continue to lag.
“Economic data is a bit weaker than expected,” said Quincy Krosby, a market strategist at Prudential Financial.
“We’re trying to figure out the disconnect between the soft and hard data,” she added. “To get the next leg up for the market and economy, we need the Trump agenda to really kick in.” That might mean the Fed has to be really careful with its rate hike plans.
But would the Fed really want to lower rates just yet? It would be a signal that the central bank thinks the economy is in much worse shape than many thought, and could set off alarm bells.
The Fed is also being helped by the fact that long-term bond rates, which are often used as benchmarks for mortgages and other consumer and business loans, remain low despite the recent Fed rate hikes. That makes it cheap to borrow money.
So there’s really no need for Yellen to hit the panic button. Growth may not be as good as it could be. But it’s likely to gradually improve — and nobody is fearing a return of inflation just yet either.
“Low long-term rates say to me that the bond market does not think inflation is a problem,” said Mary Ann Hurley, vice president of fixed income trading at D.A. Davidson & Co. “What does that mean for the Fed? More rate hikes are coming.”
Matt Schreiber, president of WBI Investments, agrees that the Fed still has time to wait and see what happens in Washington before it takes the bold move to shift gears.
Related: Economy grew at slowest pace in 3 years during the first quarter
But he said it’s not out of the question that the Fed may need to reverse course in 2018.
“Could the Fed have to intervene to stimulate the economy? If you don’t get tax cuts, infrastructure spending and other things that could stimulate the economy, the Fed may have to step in,” he said.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that it will be Yellen’s decision to make come next year. Her four-year term as Fed chair ends on February 3, 2018.
Many Fed watchers have assumed Trump will want to appoint his own Fed chair — especially since he criticized her on the campaign trail for keeping rates too low.
Trump alleged Yellen was doing so to help Hillary Clinton’s chances of winning and make President Obama look good.
Related: Reminder: Tax cuts don’t actually make the economy soar
But Candidate Trump and President Trump don’t seem to share the same opinions on many things — including Yellen. Trump recently said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that Yellen was not “toast” as widely thought.
“I like her, I respect her. It’s very early. I do like a low-interest rate policy, I must be honest with you,” Trump told the WSJ.
With that in mind, Bittles thinks there’s now about a 50% chance that Trump will opt to keep Yellen for a second term — assuming she wants it, of course.
Writing a book for big bucks, taking a high-paying consulting job or retreating back to the world of academia might be a refreshing change of pace. Just ask former Fed chairs Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke.
