every day my youtube recommendations are inundated with 40 minute videos titled "the rise and fall of ____" where ____ is something that is very much still alive and thriving 😔
#i like 20 min to 10 hour videos where someone talks about some random shit for a long time but i am PICKY#u have to take it seriously. jokes are fine and good and some things are goofy but u still have to take it as it is u know!!#like u cant just look at some niche hobby community that had like maybe 1 thing blow up a bit outside the community a few years ago#and say its dying just because nothing else has gone big in the mainstream. its a niche hobby community for a reason#i dunno im sorry to be pretentious but i am in a constant state of that clip from parks and rec where the dude is in the home depot#like. i know more than you. clicks the kebab menu and presses remove from recommendations#i dunno for real people are constantly obsessed with calling niche mediums and hobbies and movements dead just because they personally#havent looked much into it. its a tale as old as time but now we have the internet and u can just like look at a forum or something#and find a very alive community still around so its like. come on 😔
