Maybe this is controversial but I think a lot of y’all reading whale weekly just don’t really like Moby Dick. Which is fine! It’s a very specific style that most people probably won’t enjoy! But if you are complaining about Ishmael going into every detail of whale and whaling and tangents upon tangents and long asides and stories within stories then you’re missing the point. If you don’t enjoy the tangents you don’t enjoy Moby Dick.
