Shanks always said that if the path to what you want seems too easy, then you're on the wrong path.
#roronoa zoro#one piece#zolu#monkey d. luffy#oplaedit#it's about zoro drifting on the sea without a purpose to the point of letting the marines capture him. but still having that dream#and with luffy seeing a chance to actually accomplish that. by his side. and by the end of s1 they have a whole crew!#its about zoro being always lost but within a few days of knowing each other the directionless sense points him towards luffy.#its about zoro seeing how serious luffy is about his own dream. how stubborn and determined he is to become the pirate king no matter what#and how luffy and zoro knew each other only for a few hours/days but already understood so well what the other is about!!#like zoro knowing the garp thing wasn't that big of a deal if luffy didn't want to tell them at first#and luffy knowing enough about dreams to not discourage zoro from fighting mihawk. not standing in the way of his dream.#and how much it hurt luffy to think he wasnt a good captain.. but he had zoro! like in the early days -#it was just the two of them (even if more here but lets just say.. zoro was always the first. the anchor. the stability to luffy)#why am i emo about opla again#uhh captain and his first mate#one piece live action#mine#gif:one piece#gif:opla#opgraphics

So I've finished the live action!!
Gonna start with what I didn't like personally I feel the Arlong arc was a bit weaker than in the manga/anime, it got a bit contrived in a way. The other arcs were fine even with the changes just this one didn't super convince me although it was still good. Nami's desperation did hit and that's what matters lmao
A pity we didn't see Hachi but maybe they just couldn't figure out how to make the octopus thing work which is understandable if a bit disappointing. Also a pity we didn't see Luffy bite the shark back they were cowards for that
Garp is... interesting. It's like I see why they went with this interpretation of him but it's not my favorite interpretation y'know? Also he's a bit too serious
That being said the other characters were great. Again Luffy is def not baseline Luffy but he's still amazing. Love the instant Sanji/Zoro hostility, also Sanji was just so cute???
THE SLUTTIFICATION OF MIHAWK I SWEAR
"I could still take you" IN A FIGHT SHANKS? IN A FIGHT?
Zeff and Sanji had a great relationship I loved it
USOKAYA
I've seen some people have issue with the pacing but personally it wasn't too big a deal for me. Yeah some things were a bit wonky but it wasn't enough to bother me
I did like how they spent more time angsting on Zoro's injury! Bit disappointed about the lack of Johnny and Yusaku tho. But that surgery scene? Chef's kiss
The barrel scene aaaaa I died
Flashbacks were a bit hit and miss imo? Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp were really good. Zoro and Nami kinda hit more in the manga/anime, Nami especially didn't feel as heavy
Coby was adorable. Helmeppo was just the right amount of fucking unsufferable
Buggy babygirl <3 They know what the people wanted
THAT CAMEO AT THE END AFHJRHGJTTG I'M FUCKING FERAL GIVE ME THE BASTARD
