I think pigeons judge us a lot. Like I know many other animals does as well but pigeons have a knack for it. Like their entire facial expressions are there just to make us feel inferior.

my GENUINE, UNBIASED opinion on class 2A’s hero costumes!! (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE NEWEST MANGA CHAPTERS AND STUFF. DONT WATCH IF NOT FULLY CAUGHT UP!)
Momo Yaoyorozu
•the colours are cute!
•but I imagine it’d b VERY easy for villains to like find vital organs and whatnot considering how revealing it is..
•I get that she needs that space for her quirk but I think a zipper would work fine as well??
•also why is there random books on the back😦I don’t think shes gonna have time to read those while fighting!!
•overall: 3/10
Tenya Iida
•how does he move in that😨wouldn’t it be heavy??
•I mean at least it’s protecting all the areas a villain can easily attack and/or kill you at!! (MOMO.)
•I just think it’s super boring i’m so sorry tenya my son
•overall: 6/10 (for practicality!!)
Katsuki Bakugo
•I don’t want to rate bakugo’s costume honestly because I HATE HIM SO SO SO SO SO MUCH. but I promised to be unbiased so😁😁
•I think it goes well with him and like I love the decorations/characteristics of the costume (like the gauntlets and weird um the weird black and orange thingies next to his head
•and also!! practical!! like no villains can get to your organs there!!
•but it’s also not really my style🙁🙁
•overall: 7/10
Izuku Midoriya
•practical!!
•this is actually such a cool costume like I love how the colours go together and match with all of it and stuff!
•not much to say really☹️
•overall: 8.5/10
Shoto Todoroki
•I also DISLIKE. Todoroki’s character for like reasons I can’t even remember but they’re there!!
•practicality! yes!
•idk much about any of the costumes but I imagine his would be like fire proof or whatevs
•but like also kinda boring!! (not my style :(()
•I DONT HAVE MUCH TO SAY ABOUT ANY OF THESE COSTUMES😖😖
•overall: 4/10
Tsuyu Asui
•I like the um the head bit..
•and it fits with her!!
•and it’s practical!!
•but like..not my style at all :((
•also I don’t know if the um feet parts are supposed to look like a frogs or not idk but they look a bit weird
•I love you tho tsu!!
•overall: 6/10
Kyoka Jirou
•oh.
•I disliked jirou’s character for a bit but I can’t remember why at all?? :(
•maybe it’s because she once called dark shadow “stupid bird” or something like that while fighting😡😡😡😡
•but yeah why’s it so like..casual??
•I’d rather it be more like alt or like punk or something
•and what are the things on her hand for??
•I like the jacket tho!!
•overall: 4.5/10
Mashirao Ojiro
•I mean it fits him definitely!!
•in the costume pic that i’m looking at he’s showing a bit of chest so villains could probably get to his organs or something?? idk :(
•it’s SO boring..
•overall: 3/10
Minoru Mineta.
•I feel so sorry to those poor civilians who’ve gotta be saved by IT.
•”i’ll be a hero to get girls!!” then shows up with THAT
•literally what am I looking at here??
•WHY does he have like a UFO looking thing
•and what is with the purple and yellow combo..
•I physically can’t keep looking at this thing
•overall: 1/10 (for practicality)
Mezo Shoji
•okay shoji I love you like such a gentleman and stuff and such a good friend (needs more screen time!!)
•but what is TAHT.
•the mask kinda looks cool…😕
•someone compared it to a clown and I wholeheartedly agree!!
•does it even have any functions besides making me want to dip my eyes in bleach??
•overall: 2/10 (MILES better then Mineta’s though.)
Koji Koda
•oh. like in the most flabbergasted way ever. oh.
•HE LOOKS LIKE HE’S GONNA START SERVING THE VILLAINS MCDONALDS
“oh hey all for one!! what can I get for you today :))”
•HE MUST BE LIKE NEEDING GLASSES OR SOMETHING CUZ HOW THE HELL DO YOU THINK “I need a costume that’s practical and hero like!!” AND COME UP WITH THAT.
•THE MASK ISNT DOING ANYTHING FOR YOU.
•WHAT THE HELLS THOSE WHITE STRAP THINGS AROUND HIS ARMS, WHATS THAT DESIGN ON THE CHEST, WJY ARE YOU WEARING SHORTS AND LITERALLY EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE WRONG IS WRONG
•overall: 1/10 cuz i’m nice!

•atlwast it has practicality!!
overall: 3/10
Ochaco Uraraka
•BEST. HERO. COSTUME.
•the colours go together!! the little characteristics of it go together!!
•it fits her quirk and personality!!
•it’s practical from what I can see!
•genuinely no more words. AUTOMATIC 10/10
•overall: 10/10
Fumikage Tokoyami (MY SON🤩🤩)
•I really wish I can be biased I really do
•I’ll go through the positives first!!
•I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wristbands and the utitlity belt!!
•and the fact that you can’t really see where his body parts are like arms and stuff cuz of the cloak!!
•AND the cloak helps shade dark shadow so they can recharge energy!!
•ALSO very gothic I think!!🤯
•now…fumi my son I get that it’s like good to be practical but my omigosh
•why’s it ALL black. like maybe the boots could have had some coloured laces or something or the cloak could’ve had like cool bat or bird or whatver design on it just to give SOME colour
•without the cloak though it’s so so so pretty!!
•and it fits his character A LOT
overall: 5/10
Eijiro Kirishima
•I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!!
•the colours all go well together!!
•the sleeves are super cool!!
•I like the “R” and like the little cape around the waist thingy!
•but..kiri my boy is the revealingness with the chest like for your quirk😕villains are gonna get to your heart and stuff!
•but actually one of the best costumes in class 2A!
•overall: 8/10
Toru Hagakure
•I always get confused on how to spell hagakure :((
•but what do I even say about this costume??????????????
•if I were her I would’ve just went full naked 24/7 tbh cuz like no villains are getting me then!!
•but genuinely what’s the reasoning behind having gloves and shoes?? making sure class A can see you? :(
•I don’t even know what to rate this one cuz can I even??
•overall: I DONT EVEN KNOW?😰
Hanta Sero
•okay I mean like I like the mask and stuff!
•and the colours do go well together unlike some of the other costumes (KODA. MINETA.)

Yuga Aoyama
•AOYAMA MY BOY!!
•honestly i’ve seen some people dislike his costume and I get it cuz why is it like armour?? how does he move!?
•but like nice shiny cape!! and purple!! and like super cool glasses that remind me of hawk’s wings (I have a personal grudge against hawks for multiple reasons but you know!!)
•overall: 6/10
Mina Ashido (MY 2ND FAVOURITE IN CLASS A!!)
•i’ve seen people hating on her costume and like I get it there are stuff that can be changed but it goes so well with her!!
•like the purple and turquoise go surprisingly well together and are like acid stuff!
•and the beige yellow colour of the jacket and boots goes with her horns!!
•I do think the jacket and boots (mostly boots) could be changed but you know!!
•overall: 8/10
Denki Kaminari
•I LOVE his hero costume!!
•like it’s cool AND casual (sort of)

Golden Analyzes 2002 Nominees “Ice Age”
Tumblr media
*Have Seen Prior*
Starting off the 2002 Oscar Nominees, we’re going in alphabetical order.
We JUST have to watch the first one for this. We don’t have to watch any of the atrocious sequels. THANK GOD.
I’ve seen all the movies. I’m pretty indifferent to their existence. But in terms of objective quality, the sequels are quite shit. BUT the first one I remember being fine.
And I am predicting of the five we have to watch, this one will be the weakest. I mean, when competition is Lilo & Stitch, Spirit, Spirited Away, & Treasure Planet… yeah.
And by the way, unlike last year, I have seen ALL five of these movies before. (My GF hasn’t seen the two spirit movies)
Let’s get going…
Reaction:
Bold is my GF’s words
“I like how the streaming service title screen has the squirrel front and center, which makes me think Scratt is the main character.”
“Oh look it’s the main character!”
“I was always confused why he’d want to put the nut in the ground. Don’t they do that in the spring?” “It’s Ice Age. THERE IS NO SPRING.”
“That’s not how ice works”
“He has nature itself targeting him. Op, you broke our land, now you suffer eternally… Ice Age is secretly hell.”
“They never see him either. He must be a god.”
*You can play extinction later!* “So they’re playing dead?” “That didn’t look like they were playing dead that looked like they were swimming in… not gonna say.”
*Animal falls off the cliff and dies* “How did that get past the censors?!” “Died of stupidity.” “How did that get scripted and animated and no one said ‘hey maybe this implies something and we shouldn’t have it’”
“Oh yeah I forgot about this” “I always feel so bad for Sid. His family abandoned him and does not love him. They came back in the fourth movie just to drop off his grandma cause they didn’t want her either. It’s so messed up.”
*Isnt there anyone who cares about Sid the Sloth?* *Nope* “That’s depressing.”
“I survived Shrek. I watch Total Drama. It’s grosser than this. I can manage.”
”He’s just like me.”
“Kicks him off.” “😂”
“This is literally just Shrek again.” “Yep.” “Im not saying they’re ripoffs.” “Yeah, considering they get another guy and a baby and theres no women.” “😂 There’s no women?!”
“Oh, Manfred? I thought it was Manny for the longest time. I didn’t know he had a full name.”
“These humans models do not hold up.”
” I just feel so bad for Sid. His family abandoned him. They tied his hands and feet and barricaded the cave door and covered their tracks so he couldn’t find them- THAT IS MESSED UP!!” “…I was just focusing on how he wasn’t even covered by the rain.”
*Scratt Appears* ”Oh hey it’s the main character.”
“Nature HAS to actively be against him. This is secretly Hell. Ice Age takes place in hell.”
*Jumps off the waterfall* “…they’re both dead.”
”They also tame wolves, I don’t think these humans are the good guys. Don’t hurt animals.”
“Because we’re so much more complex and capable of doing whatever, we tend to make a lot of bad choices. Cats for example don’t have existential crises. They just want to roam around and nap.”
“I’m sorry, we’re you expecting me to jump off a cliff?!”
*you’re an embarrassment to nature, you know that?* “😂”
*You two are a bit of an odd couple* *There is no us* “😂 This movie is these three forming a polycule. That’s it. That’s the plot.”
“I just realized how many fat jokes they make with Manny.” “He’s a mammoth. He’s supposed to be that size.”
”Oh this is hell right here.” “Yep.” “Ice Age is hell.”
“This is me with babies. Everyday.”
“…I think I would die if that happened to me.”
“We always quote ‘the last melon’ in our house. All the time.”
“I thought dodo birds were a seventeenth century thing.”
*dodo casually dies* “WHY ARE THRY SO CALM ABOUT THAT?! A DUDE DIED!!”
“This is how the dodos went extinct.”
*unison* “The last melon.” “The last melon.” “😂 I’m sorry I had to.”
*Dodo bites Manny* “I DONT REMEMBER THAT. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!” “What?” “The flipping bird went up his anus!” “…he bit his tail. What are you talking about?” “Didnt show it!”
“And then he smashes it.” *smashes it* “Yep.”
“Actually, that was the best thing he could’ve done with that melon.”
”A tree is better than you Sid. A TREE is better than you Sid.”
”Hey look it’s the main character!”
“They CAN see him. Who would’ve thought? Or is it ‘Huh, this invisible force is wrestling my face!’”
“Thats how I sleep.”
“Ooh the eyes.”
“…what?????”
” I don’t like how those lady sloths look…”
“🫣” “WHAT?!” “Excuse me, what?!” “You want to make babies with a guy you just met?!”
*You just keep marinating and I’ll be right back* “🫣” “MARINATING?!” “I don’t want to be here anymore…”
*It’s hard to find a family guy* “THIS HAS TO STOP. How many movies are gonna break me?!”
”Two bros chilling in the hot tub five feet apart cause they’re not gay.”
“Just breaks his neck and kills him.” “Yeah.”
“Wait is he actually gonna kill him?!”
*I don’t eat junk food* “OOOOOOOHHHHH” “That’s actually a great roast.”
“Why is there a gizzard in the Ice Age?”
*I don’t care who started it I’ll finish it!* “Me and my family in a nutshell.”
“Hey look it’s the main character!”
“If that’s all it takes to cause an avalanche of that size…”
“Oh it’s a museum… a museum of corpses.”
“Uuuuuuhhhh… what??? It’s the Ice Age. Excuse me?”
“Reminds me of something from Ninjago Season 5.”
“Hey look it’s the main character!”
“That looks painful! Grinding your nails on the ice… UGH…”
“Hey look its the main character!”
“That doesn’t look like tag. That looks like something else. And I don’t want to finish that suggestive sentence.”
“Why is that the best scene in this entire movie?”
“I think they completely forget about this in the sequels and never bring it up again. It’s part of the canon that Manny had a wife and kid that were killed.”
“How is there snow if there’s hot lava? It’s hell. There’s no other way. Ice Age is hell.”
“Three bros chilling in the lava, five feet apart cause they’re not gay.”
*Why don’t you make it realistic?* “Why are there so many fat jokes in this movie? My gosh.”
*Hey lovebirds* “😂Come on…”
“Oh god it’s moving. It’s coming to wreck havoc on us all!”
“Hey look it’s the main character!”
“It’s an acorn. How does that work?”
“I think he just killed all of them…”
“Uh… I think that tigers dead since he can’t get out of there.”
“OH… that’s actually a brutal death. We all talk about how gruesome Disney Villain deaths are, but never anything else…”
“…you know that if there weren’t any more sequels, Diego would’ve stayed dead. This was so fitting to end off his story.”
“You just see a giant mammoth holding your baby and you’re just like ‘okay’.”
*I got nine lives* “Yeah, sure. I like you and I wish you were dead.”
*Global Warming* “Yeah! We’re in hell!!”
“Hey look! It’s the main character!”
“I’m sorry, WHAT? Two thousand years?! How’d he even get in ice? What?!”
“How long does this take? How does he not DIE?”
“Okay, I can get it when it was ice, but ROCK-it’s a cartoon, what am I saying?”
“And that’s your confirmation. Ice Age takes place in hell.”
“I can’t believe the main character was barely in the movie. SMH.”
Review:
Tumblr media
Ice Age The Movie’s main setting is HELL and I will not be convinced otherwise. This is THE TRUTH BEHIND ICE AGE.
BUT HEY, THSTS JUST A THEORY-
During this movie, me and my GF made these two running jokes. One was that the movie took place in hell, and that the main character was Scratt. Because the main streaming service page where we watched this heavily advertised THE SQUIRREL as the main character. It was funny.
Idk why this squirrel is even in the movie, he serves absolutely zero purpose or relevance to the story at all, but you know what? He is epic and that’s all that matters.
Ice Age is known NOW as the franchise that won’t die, and I’ll bet in ten years it’ll give The Land Before Time a run for its money.
Btw, if you want my opinions on the sequels: I stopped after Collision Course and didn’t see anything after that. And all the sequels are atrocious dumpster fires that add NO value.
Can we go back to the days when this was just one solid film?
Subjectively, as someone who hates babies, I am naturally bias against this movie. I’m kinda half joking. But other than that, this movie is just a very simple story about these three animals trying to get a human baby home, and along the way becoming a polycule-I mean found family.
That’s all it needed to be.
And without all the irritating characters from the sequels, the movie can focus solely on its meme worthy comedy and it’s central characters.
The comedy’s kinda a mixed bag for me personally. You can tell Shrek had some inspiration. It’s that way for a lot of movies. Some bits are memes for a reason. Others kinda had me scratching my head.
“Yeah! Global Warming! We’re all gonna die!! We’re in hell!!”
There’s A LOT more jokes about DEATH than I remembered.
I mean, I never actively cringed at anything like I thought I would, so that’s impressive.
I also think this found family dynamic works. It helps that the movie takes its time to explore all three of these guys and their distinct personalities. I totally buy that they’d bond the way they did.
Diego’s probably my favorite character in the movie. I mean if you don’t count the ironic side of things (SCRATT ALL DAY BABY). I think his redemption was very natural and well built up to, and his sacrifice was decently touching.
If there weren’t any sequels, you know he would’ve stayed dead.
Or not. Kids movie. Idk.
Tumblr media
Sid just very casually has this really F’d up backstory and family life and it drove my GF insane a couple of times.
At least in this movie, while he’s not a top tier comic relief character, he was never awful or irritating. I can use those adjectives for a bunch of other comic reliefs.
There really isn’t too much to say about a movie as simple as this. With other movies, there’s more of a psychological thing to talk about in either it’s theming or characters. But this movie’s simplicity is just that blatant. Not saying it’s a bad thing.
And the animation is… well… it’s 2002, whatcha gonna do?
The animation is the ONLY thing that is superior in the sequels. In this first movie these are some very blocky models and some really bland backgrounds. The humans do NOT look right.
The scene where they animate the cave art to tell Manny’s backstory is the highlight of the movie for a reason. At least for me.
Very well done scene where the art style and animation tells the story. No dialogue. No words. You see it and you understand it.
It’s nice when a kids movie respects the kids and understands they can pick this sort of stuff up for themselves. Kids aren’t stupid.
It’s BAFFLING to me that the sequels completely forget about this very vital backstory of Manny’s and never being it up again. BUT I DIGRESS.
What? Is taking death seriously crossing a line? Don’t wanna make the kids sad. That’s not the brain rotting mush you want in sequels.
This first movie is actually a lot darker when you think about it for more than five seconds.
The story is about these starving sabor tooth’s that want to eat a human baby, and then the mother of that baby falls to her death to save him. We witness the dodo’s extinction. And quite possibly one of the most underrated villain deaths in an animated movie in terms of gruesomeness. Like DEAR GOD…
It’s not very chill.
But I appreciate a movie that doesn’t shy away from death as a concept. Again, respectful to the kids who shouldn’t be treated like morons.
I really appreciate this movie’s existence and what it’s done. And I feel SO BAD for Blue Sky.
BUT WHAT ABOUT SCRATT?! THINK OF SCRATT!!
Tumblr media
Anyway, continuing with 2002, Lilo & Stitch is our next movie.

Loki Masterlist
~~~~
Your nose was red as you made it back to the cabin were you and the team had decided to vacation for a little down time, of course it wasnt your normal run of the mile cabin not with Tony bank rolling the whole thing. It was a rustic 4 story cabin with 3 rooms on each floor, a huge fire place that literally sat in the middle of the house (you didnt really cared how it worked you just knew it looked cool), a huge kitchen and living room sat on the first floor.
"I cant believe i let him talk me into that." You mummbled making your way to the fire place. Clint, your wonderful older brother had decided that the team should have a snow ball fight, you know "team building exercise" as he called it. You had of course been on opposing sides since it would be fair for two Bartons to be on the same team as Tony had said.
"You should know his tricks by now y/n, you've only known him all your life." Nat laughed walking in the door after you shacking snow from her hair.
"I didnt expect him to peg me in the side of the damn head. OR tackle me to the ground and shove my face in the snow." You grumbled. "Hes lucky he ran before I could get up."
"I'm pretty sure he's hidding in a tree somewhere." She laughed again.
"Good, the bird can stay in his roost for all I care. I'm going to go take a nice hot shower and a nap. Let the others know please." You walked off toward the steps that lead to yours and your boyfriends room. "Hey Nat, try to make sure the others are nice to Loki? The only reason hes here is so that he could try to get closer to them."
"Yeah, him being able to spend as much time with you as possible was not his intentions at all." She stated rollingbher eyes.
"Thanks." You went and took the hottest shower you could stand enjoying the steam as it enveloped you before you got out wrapped yourself up in a big fluffy towle and made your way into the living area. This was another nice room, hell every inch of this place was nice though. It wasnt like your "mini apartment" as you liked to call your room at the tower, but it still had a seprate smaller living area with a couch and a recliner, the bed was on the oyher side of a patrician looking out of the floor to celing window. You didnt want to lay there because it was so bright so after digging around in your bag and pulling out a pair of black shorts and one of Lokis green pullovers you decided to crash on the couch. After a few minutes of watching some random cooking show you dozed off engulfed in your boyfriends sent lulling you to your dream world.
You woke with a start when you felt something pressong aginst your forehead, you felt like you hadnt been asleep for very long, lookinh atound you realized first that it was dark outside, and second your muscles all over was sore and stiff feeling.
"Shhhh, Its just me, my darling." Loki ran his hand down your cheek softly. "I came to check on you, I realized you must not be feeling good when you were whimpering in your sleep." You then noticed that your throat was sore.
"I dont whimper." It came out horse, youtried to clear your throat as much as you could.
"You did, it was adorable." He smiled. He walked around the couch to take a seat next to you. "Your not feeling well. I can feel it." He had a look of worry. He always went on and on about how vulnerable mortals were and you wasnt doing anything to prove him wrong at this moment.
"Loki, I promise the worst this is is a cold that I technically caught from my idiot brother. Ill be fine in a few days. The only thing that aucks is I'll be stuck in here while the rest of you are out having the time of your lives." You huffed pulling the pillow under your head better.
"The rest of you? My dove, I can promise there is no rest of you if your not going to be there. The only reason I came on this dreaded team building experience is because of you." He offered you his hand and helped you stand so that he could guide you to the bed. "Lets lay here and watch the snow fall." He pulled your side of the blankets down and help you under them.
"That sounds like a plan Loki. Although I am a little hungry." You sat in bed as you watched him strip from the clothes he had been wearing all day and changing into a pair of black sleep pants. He started digging again. "I have your hoodie on." He looked over and shook his head with a smile.
"It looks better on you anyways. Of course I should have known that you would try to get me naked." He laughed. "Your brother saod he would bring something up in a bit. I had text him and told him you wasnt feeling all that well."
You stared in shock, "Textjng my brother? Looks like you have made some new friends."
"I wouldnt go that far, he said that he was afraid of you even if you were sick and I was probably the safest one in the room. He is going to vring a peace offering though." He pulled the blankets up around him as he settled in bed.
"The hawk shouldnt have flown his roost. Ill kill him once I get to feeling better." You grumbled.
"Sleep now my darling, get some rest. When we wake in the morning, of you are feeling any better, we will plot domination over your brother then." You felt him wrap his arms around you and kiss the top of your head before drifting off once more.
Inextinguishable Fire | Chiluc Week Day 1
Fake Dating/Accidental Confession/Roommates AU
Chiluc Fluff
Tw: Mentions of a Stalker
★━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━★
“Ajax! I need your help!” He chimed, his pale knuckles knocking lightly on the door. The sound of creaking soaked through the door, floorboards cried under his weight as his shadow shifted beneath the door. The faintest sound of a groan resonated through the door as it was slowly opened.
The sunlight from the apartment began to creep into his dark room, it’s darkness swallowed around the tall, pale figure before him. The veins in his hands moved as he gripped at the door and it’s frame, his muscles stretching as he curved his back in a weak attempt to pop it. Whatever he had done last night must’ve been eventful, bruises littered his knuckles as cuts and scratches tore at his skin with every breath.
“What’s up Sparky?” He groaned, the sound reverberating through the quiet hallway as he yawned, his bed head unruly as it curled and stuck out in different directions, his sleepy tears rolling down his freckled cheeks.
“I have a problem and I need your help.” Diluc had muttered, determined to fix his gaze upon those ocean blues that drowned him shamelessly with every look. They’d look down at him, up at him, study him and care for him. An overwhelming tsunami sure to swallow him whole and send his head underwater, taking away every breath he took.
“What kinda problem?” Ajax was intrigued. A problem? Whatever this problem was it obviously stressed him out a great deal — his hair was a frenzied mess, curls displaced down his back and along his shoulders from where they had been agitated; probably from where he had been running his fingers through it. Even in his sleepy haze, he could see his fingers were irritated, most likely from scratching, and his lips were chapped, his bottom lip with patches of raw skin, swollen and bleeding. He’d been chewing and pulling at the skin of his lips.
“So you remember why we’re rooming? Because I had a stalker on campus?” He worried, starting to scratch at his neck, most likely from anxiety.
“Yeah…I remember very well. They tried to break into the dorm you shared with that Albedo guy. I chased ‘em off,” he groaned, rubbing at his face, trying to rub his drowsiness away, “What about ‘em? Do I need to beat the shit outta them?” He murmured as he studied the man before him.
“Well…no, not yet I don’t think. That’s not…”
“What’s wrong Diluc?” He whispered gently, his voice deep and raspy from having just woken up. His voice alone was enough to send a shiver down Diluc’s spine.
“I’ve been invited to a double date and the people who invited me think I’m dating you and I don’t know what to do so I came to you thinking you’d know what to do and even though I know how to protect myself I’m still not comfortable knowing there isn’t a restraining order on that stalker so I figured —,”
“Diluc, slow down. You’re rambling, I need you to have mercy on me here,” he laughed as he reached for a t-shirt, “Look, I get this is making you anxious. Why not just tell them you don’t feel up to hanging out right now? Better yet, invite them to the apartment, I don’t care.” He slipped the tee on, the collar hang forward from where it had been stretched out.
The idea of asking another friend’ really wasn’t much of an option for Diluc. He had far too many trust issues and the only reason why he’d hung around Ajax was because he was there the night the stalker had broken in, talking pictures of him and stealing precious items. Had it not been for Albedo’s attempt to stop him, Ajax wouldn’t have heard the ruckus.
“Look, I need you to calm down before you tell me. I can’t keep up when you anxiety ramble,” he smiled softly, nodding to the living room, “Go sit on the couch and wait for me, I’ll brush your hair out and you can go from there okay?” For someone as flamboyant as Kaeya — maybe even more so — he was rather calm in the mornings whereas Kaeya would be loud and dramatic.
Striding along their shared apartment, he sat on the couch as he listened to the winds howl and the birds chirp. He remembered telling the pair he had online classes to worry about, the classes becoming stressful, only adding to his exhaustion after the stalker incident. Feeling the sofa dip behind him, he relaxed instinctively as he sat behind him, pulling his hair behind him before he gently brushed at the hairs, careful not to snag a single strand.
“So start from the beginning for me,” he said calmly, his fingers carding through his hair with each stroke of the hairbrush.
“I was invited to a double date…,” he whispered, slumping forward just a bit as he fiddled his his fingers.
“By who?”
“By Albedo.”
“You’re old roommate?” Diluc nodded as best he could, his weight sinking into the cushions beneath him.
“Why not just invite him and his partner here?”
“I tried but he said he doesn’t want to be a bother and he’d rather pay for coffee down the road.” He sank into his touch as he lightly massaged his scalp.
“And you said he thinks we’re dating?” Diluc hummed, tilting his head back, melting under his touch.
“Yeah, I couldn’t get a word in over the phone, I tried to tell him we weren’t and he didn’t believe me.” He sighed, some of his tension leaving his body.
“And you’re worried about that stalker again?” Diluc hummed again, his eyes closing as Ajax braided the sides to pull into a small ponytail, draping the rest if his tamed hair over his shoulders and down his back.
“Then we’ll go and just call it a fake date.” He shrugged, his hands leaving the tamed red locks his fingers were busied with.
“The two of us on a fake date?” Diluc had thought of it, he just hadn’t expected for him to have the same idea, “What would we even do, how would that —,”
“Dont stress about it too much, just follow my lead,” Ajax soothed, brushing a piece of his hair behind his ear. It was brief when Diluc looked away, Ajax’s eyes stealing a glance at his red lips, his gaze lingering a moment longer than he would’ve liked as the other stared off at the pristine, white wall.
“Look, if it bothers you that much then I’ll just go as company alright? No need to worry your pretty head Aphrodite,” Diluc’s skin burned violently as his mind began to crash, he could feel himself drowning once more, water filling his lungs and his throat as a light kiss was pressed to his temple.
“Why did you —,”
“We’re fake dating right? We gotta make it believable Rosebud, might as well get a head start,” he chuckled as he walked back to his room to get dressed, “Let me know what time we’re leaving,” he called down the hall, his voice bouncing and echoing down the cramped space as Diluc sat mindlessly on the sofa. God, he could be so insufferable sometimes. His fingers feathered over his temple, the ghost of his lips setting his heart aflame as he scoffed. Sure, he helped when he was needed and slept most of the day because of his night classes, but he could be so…so annoying.
An hour had ticked away along the clock’s hands, Diluc looking on in severe distaste at the basic tee and jeans Ajax had chosen. It was so basic Diluc couldn’t help but roll his eyes as he drug him back to his room, rifling through the other’s wardrobe, desperate to find something better for him to wear.
“Take that off, before I rip it off you,” Diluc’s tone was bitter, as he glared at him.
“So forward Diluc,” Ajax snickered, pulling the t-shirt off slowly, teasingly, loving the irritated noise that squeezed itself past Diluc’s throat. His touch against his skin was scalding as he took his shirt off for him. It made his heart flutter and burn like a forest fire in his chest with each breath, becoming far more dire with every inhale — dire for the need to touch him delicately, to let his fingers gingerly trace the underside of his jaw and press chaste kisses to his neck. He swallowed thickly, knowing his pale cheeks were burning with his hidden passion, the tips of his ears must have been burning as bright as the other’s hair. If they had, Diluc had chosen to ignore it, surely.
“Put this on.” Clothes were pushed to his chest, an assortment of colors that worked beautifully together, “I think a slate grey would look better, it’s softer,” he started to ramble, right, he was studying to be a fashion designer, he was also a minor in art, “No, no wait,” he went off, fingers gently skimming against his clothes, “Try this instead,” he handed him another outfit, taking away the sweater and pants he had handed him previously.
“Diluc, it’s a fake date…,” he whispered slowly as Diluc went back to looking through his clothes, “Why are you dressed like it’s a fancy outing, wearing heels, and going so in depth with clothes?”
“Well, Ajax,” he hummed with a swift turn of his heel, his hair spinning as he lifted the other’s chin with his finger, sending Ajax reeling from his spot on his bed. Don’t even get him started on the way he said his name like that, “One, it’s called having a taste in fashion and being a minor in art. Two, they aren’t heels, they’re dress shoes,” he leaned in closely, a smirk danced uncharacteristically along his features as his breath fanned over his lips, “We gotta make it believable…Seerose.” Had it not been for rooming with him for four months his German would have been rough. He…he called him Water Lily in German. The perfect payback really. Ajax laughed lightly as the finger slipped from his chin as he stood up.
“Alright alright, I’ll be out in a moment.” Diluc had been grateful he had the other by his side, his heart hammered in his chest.
“How do I look Firefly?” He chimed, a cheesy grin on his face as he walked back into his room.
“Better,” Diluc was pleased with the outfit. It had gone silent rather quickly, the incessant buzz of the AC being the only noise that had filled the room, “Hey…I have a question.”
“Shoot Sparky,” Ajax relaxed, slouching back just a bit as Diluc eyed him, watching his every move like a hawk.
“Did you want to go on the double date with me?” Ajax’s face flushed. Yes, yes he absolutely wanted to…but how could he admit that so casually?
“Just thought it’d be a cool idea, that’s all.”
“A cool idea?” Diluc had doubted that with every fiber of his being. He could tell by the way he spoke and the way his body had tensed up there was something up.
“Yeah, pretty much.” He shrugged, his body going rigid.
“You’re lying.”
“What?”
“I said you’re lying.”
“Yeah, I heard you the first time but what makes you think I’m lying?”
“You’re too tense.” He said simply, stepping closer eyes cut to examine every bead of sweat that formed on his face, every freckle and every line in his forehead, “Why did you propose the idea of a fake date, and be honest.”
“I am being honest!” He panicked, he could feel his body begin to flare with heat as Diluc walked closer and closer.
“No you aren’t Ajax.”
“Why does it matter?” Ajax argued, as he took slow, consistent steps back.
“Because I’m the last person you should love—,”
“So what if I do?!” Ajax’s voice echoed within the dark room as sunlight streamed through the curtains as he was backed into the wall. His heart raced in his chest as it clicked. He…he just admitted to loving his roommate. The very roommate he saved four months ago and offered to go on a fake date with. He hadn’t meant for it to be so raw, so unromantic that he himself had to groan at his own stupidity.
“…So you’re actually in love with me?” Ajax’s lips pursed shut, as he looked away, embarrassment settling in his bones, flooding every crevice of his body.
“Ajax?”
“Yes, Diluc, I’m in love with you, for fuck sake.” He groaned, his head thumping against the wall as he threw his head back. He was dizzy, his eyes wide as warm hands cupped his cheeks with a forceful kiss pressed to his lips — desperate. Everything in this moment was a blur to him, he just knew he tasted sweet, like sugar and pastries. He could feel the quiver of his lip and it felt right. It felt so, so right.
“C-call, call it off,” he groaned, melting into the kiss with every touch as his lithe fingers traced the veins in his neck, “Call off the meet up—,” he whispered thinly, pulling him impossibly closer as he kissed him feverishly, passion burning in each press of their lips. Diluc gasped as he was suffocated with every gentle kiss pressed to his skin. He pulled at the hairs of his neck, allowing himself to be dragged down to the bottom of the ocean. Lightly, he pushed him away to breathe, laughing lightly at their disheveled state as he cleaned them both up as best he could.
“Or, we could actually make it a date instead of a fake one,” he proposed, hands busying themselves with bronze curls.
“Yes. Fuck yes, I would absolutely love that,” he whispered as he went back to kissing him over and over, grateful for his stupid mouth talking too much.
“A date it is then,” Diluc mumbled against his lips as he allowed himself to be devoured by the other’s warm embrace, “A date it is…” Ajax sank into his touch, feeling his fingers hold him closely by his jaw as his lips met his over and over, his warmth scorching his skin, a fire that could never be extinguished…a fire that could never be extinguished.
Grocery stores are a cursed place. Horrible. You might have guessed that if there were to be a special layer of hell to be reserved for you (which you sure as hell wished there wasn’t) it would likely be a grocery store.
Firstly, they are one of the messiest places that you could ever experience. Have you seen the ways that those beige-y grey floors get caked with dirt and smudges from who knows what? Have you seen the dirt and grime that hides under those produce shelves? Secondly, why is it that everyone always feels the need to get so close to eachother crammed in those isles? Why is it that you have to do that awkward shuffle when your cart and someone else’s cart gets in each other’s way and you have to do the “no you go first” and “no, you go first.”
You prayed that you had been good enough in this life to escape some kind of grocery-store induced hellscape.
Partly it was Bomi’s fault. Temperamental nuisance. Three days into her newest bag of cat food and she suddenly decided to go on a hunger strike. The internet  had told you that perhaps she just didn’t like the flavor. Little did the internet know that you had nearly already tried every other flavor there was, even the expensive ones.
You stared down to your crinkled up list filled with the ramblings of an attempted grocery list and other absentminded doodles.
DONT FORGET STUPID NEW CAT FOOD
Under the reminder, you had drawn an angry little cat face with Bomi’s characteristic calico facial splotches.
“Damn cat. You’re lucky that I still love you.” You uttered under your breath.
The wheels of your cart screeched as you turned the corner into the pet isle. Of course, you were the lucky one that had to pick the cart that had only three functioning wheels and whined like your mother over the phone. You cringed to yourself, bearing through the sound and the two glances from a mother and her child throwing an obscenely large bag of dog food into their totally normal cart.
You didn’t need to, but you mouthed a tiny “sorry” to them as you passed them.
The tall metal racks appeared to touch those flickering fluorescent lights above them as you perused them, glancing over all of the brands which you had undoubtedly purchased one time or the other.
Tuna, salmon, tuna and salmon, tuna and veggies, salmon and veggies...
What would it be that Bomi would tolerate this time? Was it grains that she didn’t like? Wet food?
Merely looking at the prices for the canned cat food sprung such a headache that you wished you hadn’t looked at them at all. But, if it was what your princess would eat...
On the highest shelf, your gaze caught a brand that you hadn’t seen before, so you summoned your strength to stand on your tip-toes, stretching up your arm as far as you possibly could, teetering just a little...
“Al...most--”
“Here, I can get that, let me just--”
“--Oh no, it’s fine, I can reach it, thank you--”
“--It’s alright, I’ve almost got it...”
His elegant fingers got tangled up with yours. Had your determination been any weaker, he would have snatched it up all himself, but...
He chuckled a little. “Are you sure?”
You turned your head to affirm, “Positiv--Minho?”
“Y/n?”
You had finally had the little can in your grasp, only to feel it slip out of your fingers in your shock.
The terrible sound of the aluminum can hitting Minho’s head and glasses bonked between your fumbling arms, working just too slow.
“Ssss-OW!”
Minho’s hand went immediately to rub at the top of his head with eyes tightly shut.
“Oh my god!!! Are you okay?”
Instinctually you swooped in to see if any harm had been done.
“Ah-I’m fine, don’t--I’m fine.”
Your neighbor patted down his head, trying to craft a smile for you under his painfully crossed brows.
“Are you sure? I-I’m so sorry. God, I’m so stupid and clumsy, don’t you think that you have a concussion or something?”
He laughed out a sharp chuckle, then winced at what the action did to his head. “I don’t think so.”
“Are you sure about that?” If he could have heard, he would have noticed your heart anxiously beating at a hundred times per second.
“It’s okay, really, I’ve had worse things thrown at my head.”
“What the hell could be worse???”
“You don’t want to know.” He maintained his hopeful grin.
Even after being assaulted by cat food, he was still just as beautiful as you remembered.
“Oh! Your glasses!! Where did those go??”
Frantically, you spun around, shoving your cart aside with another startling screee. Quickly you found them nearest the bird seed.
“Here. Here you go, I hope that they’re not broken.”
“Mm-doesn’t look like it.” Minho inspected them.
“Oh thank God.”
He huffed out one more little scoff-sounding laugh. “At least you’ve got the cat food that you wanted now.
“Yeah, but at what cost?”
“I said don’t worry about me.”
Minho fluffed his hair back into place, likely hiding another rub to his throbbing head.
What even does one say to someone who you nearly wrecked with cat food?
“You uhh--what are you doing here?”
“The same as you, getting cat food.” Minho snatched a bag of food from a lower shelf. “With three mouths to feed you tend to run out pretty fast.”
“Oh! I-uh...can imagine.”
“Weird shopping here like I live here now...never thought that would happen. I’m still getting used to everything around here; never knew that I would end up back living with my mom...and at my age.”
“Don’t-don’t feel bad! It’s a nice area around here! At least I think, and it’s a... nice grocery store...”
You did not think that it was a nice grocery store, but it seemed like the right thing to say.
Minho smiled back at you warmly, just as he had done back on your doorstep, tabby cat in his arms. You had wanted to see it again.
“-Guess that means I’ll be seeing you around here more often too then.” He took the cat food can--his ex-assailant-- to drop into your cart.
“I guess so...and sorry, again.”
“Really don’t worry about it!” Minho rolled up his hands into little sweater paws on the handle of his cart. “I’ll see you later then.”
“See...you...”
Your words trailed behind him, seeing as he had already started wheeling away. As soon as he was out of an earshot, you cursed yourself out terribly--another habit you had developed since living alone; you really were your only company.
“God, Oh god. Now he thinks that I’m a recluse and a wreck, oh god--”
“--Hey! Watch where you’re going!!”
An old man with a newsboy cap griped before you nearly collided with him and his cart full of diet sodas.
“Sorry!! I’m so sorry!” You bowed profusely in apology while removing yourself from the isle as fast as you could.
Grocery stores really were your own kind of personal hell.
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
The cold metal of the bus stop sign dissolved into your sweating forehead while you watched the springtime sunset fade out before you. It really was pretty, and it was just enough to distract you from how weighed down your backpack and numerous reusable bags felt. Had your hands been free, you would have taken a picture.
What time is it even?
Your watch was restricted by the number of straps around your wrists. Sometimes stepping outside of your home and onto the sidewalk was draining enough to make you feel like scurrying back inside. Big trips like this however, had you falling asleep in those uncomfy plastic chairs in (also) disgustingly messy buses.
To your right, you heard the usual hum of the number 10 bus wheel up.
“Wait! Wait!! Hold the bus!!”
Hurried footsteps came patting behind you, followed with shallow running breaths.
Hair bopping and cardigan flopping a little like wings behind him, Minho sprinted to the doors.
“Take a seat ma’am.” The bust driver snapped you out of your embarrassment over seeing him one more time than you would have liked.
“Ah-sorry, I will.”
You shuffled your way near back of the bus and attempted to hide your face behind your bags decorated with none other than flowers and cartoon cats.
“Please don’t see me, please don’t see me.” You chanted under your breath while your neighbor looked for a seat.
“Y/n? Heh, I just keeping running into you don’t I?”
“Minho!!!!” You piped, just a little too animatedly. “Huh! Didn’t figure I would see you here...too...”
Minho slid into the booth across from you. “I mean, it makes sense, we’re going to the same place basically.”
“Don’t you...have a car or something?”
“I do, but I figured that the grocery store was close enough, although, I didn’t really factor in how all of this would weigh a ton.”
“Hm, I never really do as well.”
A pair of older lades glared over at the two of you, clearly displeased that you were disrupting their peaceful bus ride. Minho cowered under their piercing and aged brown eyes, then stealthily slid into the seat next to you.
His washed out jeans brushed up against your leggings, and you felt your hairs stand on end. If there was someone out there who decided if you went to a hellscape grocery store, they must have also been able to mask the smell of your sweat. You hoped that they were listening to your pleading requests.
“It’s a really a nice evening isn’t it?”
Minho peered out your window at the little shops and bustling streets beside you. The sidewalks were decorated with little skinny trees here and there which had just started to bloom with the buds of leaves and flowers. There was a peaceful air about the scene that reminded everyone that the cold would soon be gone for good, and the sky swirled into pinks and purples.
“Oh! Yes, yes it is.”
You tried your best to ignore the fact he was leaning into you slightly.
“So. What else do you do besides be a cat parent and a part-time chucker of canned goods?”
You wanted to crawl in a hole once you saw his adorable grin once more. “I-I have a job, a couple actually.”
“A couple? And what are they?”
“I teach online college courses in creative writing and English.” your glasses fell a little down your nose bridge, so you adjusted them accordingly, “I also edit for a small publishing company--but that’s more of a side thing.”
“That’s...a lot of writing and things like that.”
“Well, it’s what I went to school for, and, I don’t mind...although my mother--”
“--Have you written anything yourself? Anything that I could read?”
You felt your cheeks set ablaze with heat. “You?! Oh no no no no.”
“What?” A mischievous grin overtook Minho’s adorable one. “Do you write provocative content?”
“No! I do not!” Your tone turned more defensive than you had intended.
“Well, what do you write? Even if you did write that kind of stuff, I wouldn’t mind. Provocative contents are trendy these days.”
“I didn’t even say that I write in the first place!”
“I just assumed seeing as you seem to do other things in this field...so, what do you write?”
“It’s embarrassing, and I don’t owe you the knowledge!!”
Minho reached over your fuming body to pull at the bus cord, letting out the little stop requested tune.
“What is it that you do then?”
“Something boring and business-y that you wouldn’t care to know about. It’s definitely not as interesting as what you do I’m sure.”
Your neighbor gathered up his bags while the bus slowed to the stop.
“You coming?”
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
[19:07]
me: seung, i’m such a fool. you will not believe
seungmo: should I even guess? what? Bomi yack during your online lecture again?
me: no, worse.
seungmo: i’m listening.
i guess i don’t really have a choice though don’t I?
you’re just gonna tell me anyway aren’t you?
The cat in question purred in your lap, permitting you your usual one hour of cat-attention a day like she would during the evenings. After your day of embarrassment, you had hunkered down on your favorite place on the couch, swaddled in blankets with the TV playing some nature show that you had been trying to pay attention to. Somehow, the thought that Minho living just doors away made it all seem even worse; you were bound to see him again.
You bit your lip and started tapping away at your phone screen, regaling the entire tale to your best friend--who frankly had enough of your awkward “you-isms.” However, no matter how socially insecure you were, Seungmin appeared to stick by you. In fact, it was one of your “you-isms” that had brought the two of you together.
Four years ago at that pet shelter where you had got Bomi, Seungmin was there too looking for a dog. It was Bomi’s skittish self that leapt out of her cage and into Seungmin’s arms when his dog started barking. Bomi had nearly destroyed Seungmin’s sweater by the way that she had clawed into him. Of course, you took her crime upon yourself and insisted on buying him a new sweater. After an exchange of phone numbers, he hadn’t gotten bored of you yet. Bomi had always liked him more than you--the traitor.
[19:18]
me: ...and then he showed up on the bus, just as I had thought that I had escaped, and then started berating me about what I do for a living.
seungmo: are you sure he wasn’t just asking questions, NOT berating?
me: it felt like it.
seungmo: and why are you telling me all of this?
me: bc I wanted you to give me some comfort?? or reassurance?? isn’t that what friends do?
seungmo: what do you want me to say? I’m sorry, that was really embarrassing? get over it? stuff like that happens to you all the time y/n, I don’t know why you are making such a big teal of it.
*deal of it.
me: wow, you’re being of such help.
seungmo: you’re overthinking it. as always.
me: but i’ll have to SEE HIM again.
Seungmin’s little three writing dots disappeared, and you waited in silent anxiety for what he would say next.
[19:24]
seungmo: you’ve got a crush on him don’t you
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
The evening sky had darkened, and you felt the air temperature begin to drop. It wasn’t unbearable however, and you had prepared yourself well with your giant sheep-like blanket wrapped around your shoulders. The cold wire chair that you sat in was undoubtedly pressing shapes into your bare legs crossed up on it, but you never seemed to mind it.
Bomi yowled behind the sliding glass door to your backyard, so you allowed her to exit, making her a much happier cat. The two of you enjoyed these nights together deeply--they almost felt like a brief escape from life. Bomi would sneak around the edges of the fence, sniffing and looking rather suspicious when her green eyes would glow in the light of the house. Your glasses likely looked the same reflecting the light from your computer screen.
You took one more sip of tea, then opened up your internet. A couple clicks, and you found the notification screen on your page.
Your eyes scanned over the little paragraphs that some of your readers had written for you. It made your heart swell with immense joy seeing the way that they had analyzed and picked apart every little part of your prose and how they would write IN ALL CAPITIAL LETTERS about how excited they were for your next chapter.
~
I can’t wait for the next chapter! I’m DYING to know what was in that chest!! I really hope that Bomi can trust Davers. He just seems a little shady to me >////<
YOU’RE INSANE FOR THIS. The fact that Bomi could fight off the dragon while Blaze was confessing his feelings for her??? I could never lollll
 P L E A S E protect little Herbie. He’s such a cutie. I wish that hedgehog companions were real, I would take one with me everywhereeeee
N/n, your writing is so so pretty!! I felt like I was right there in the scene with them! The way that you described the enchanted fountain had me drooling ahhh you’re such an inspiration to me as a writer!!!
Blaze fanclub?? i’m trying to see somethin’
~
“If Blaze were real, I’d be the president of that fanclub.” You laughed out to yourself.
Suddenly, you found you thoughts shifting from your dreamy Blaze to someone much less fictional.
Crushes on boys who were real was much better than one’s who weren’t. It was nice admitting it to yourself at last.
“Ahhhh” You sighed out, doing a little happy dance in your seat, then opened up the chat box to return to the replies.
After responding to as many as you could, you opened up a new chapter.
Chapter 22
Blaze wiped off his sword, stained with the steel blue blood of the dragon, still steaming with heat underfoot. His disheveled deep black trellises were coated in his own sweat but it didn’t make him look any less dashing--per usual.
“Princess Bomi, you still haven’t answered my question.”
Bomi sheathed her own sword, then inspected her wooden shield for any more damage. For a moment, she thought that the claw marks made it look even more beautiful and intimidating.
“Blaze. You know that I can’t talk about romance at a time like this, have you forgotten that the kingdom as stake?”
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
Bomi perched at her usual spot in the window, eyes fluttering closed before she would take her nap that would last for nearly the whole afternoon. You would have been lazing with her, but that would have to wait another hour or so: with your newest paycheck, you had decided to deliver some new flowers to yourself for your garden.
The little array was spread out before you: yellow and purple pansies, pink tulips, fuchsia and baby pink peonies, and dainty while lilies of the valley were arranged where you had planned to adorn your front lawn. The aroma of the flowers lingering in the air was enough to make you feel as if you had transported yourself to the very magical gardens that you would be writing about that evening.
A pair of songbirds chittered past, carrying their whistles behind them. For a brief moment, the sun shone directly onto your arms spotted with dirt and filled your whole body with warmth. Nothing was more peaceful than this. You took to work, crackling them out of their plastic pots, and digging at the earth in holes to hold them down. After a while, you felt the dew from the grass start to soak into your work-jeans, but it was a welcome little cool feeling. Next, you popped up to hose them down with your little attachment that made the water cascade like a rain-shower. You admired for a moment how the water would create little rainbows from the spray.
“Ahem, uh-hi there!”
You choked out a gasp before swinging around, aiming the hose like your sword to the startling voice.
“STAY BACK!!’
You pointed the stream directly at them, only in your horror to see your neighbor, trademark cardigan and all, soaking wet from your weapon.
“GOD! That’s cold.”
The fabric hung onto him, adhering to every part of his body which was much more toned than you had expected.
Minho looked absolutely bewildered as the water dripped off his frame with sad little pat pat pats on the concrete sidewalk.
“Oh God. Oh God. Minho, I’m so so sorry. I-I can’t believe that I keep doing this to you--”
You nearly felt like crying, but for fear of embarrassing yourself further, you decided to turn around quickly in search of your rags. They were garden rags, but dry nonetheless.
“Here, here, I-I think that these should help.”
You dabbed at his body, although it was clear that this wasn’t helping in the slightest.
“Stop, stop,” He pushed your hands away. “I just live next door, I’ll live being a little drenched.”
“You realize that's an oxymoron right?” Your nervous hands continued dabbing.
“A what??” Minho kindly laughed at your frantic hands.
“It’s a...writing thing. Sorry...”
“I really need to be careful around you don’t I?”
Your mouth crinkled into a flustered line. “M’sorry.”
“Can you quit apologizing?? Here, I came over to give you these, my mom made some extra side dishes so she wanted me to bring them over to you.”
“Oh.” He handed you the little bundle of Tupperware containers. “Thanks.”
“She also, or--I mean--I wanted to invite you over so that you could meet my cats...and! my mom. My mom too.”
“You want me to come over?”
“I did mention that I wanted to a little while ago didn’t I?”
“Oh! You did...”
“Does next Saturday work? Around 5?”
“I-I can do five.” You brushed your muddied hand across your sweating brow.
Minho scoffed, “You’ve...got something...on your...”
“Oh! Oops.” You tried your best to wipe off the dirt, but you didn’t know you had only made it worse.
Minho squeezed out his soaked sleeve to carefully raise it to your forehead. “Here, like this.”
This close to you, his brown eyes deeply shone with the color of coffee, chocolate, the bark of forest trees after a spring rain, and a million other things that your writer brain could compare them to.
“There. It’s all gone.”
For a moment, you wondered if you really had fantasized him, or if he really was real. For you, you wouldn’t have been surprised if he was some kind of figment of your imagination: they usually were.
[1 missed call, Mom, 09:12]
“Y/n are you there? Why is it that you never pick up your phone? I’ve told you so many times that you should pick up when I call. What if it’s an emergency? What if someone’s died?? Nevermind, I wanted to call and tell you my friend’s daughter is getting engaged and I’ve been invited to the bridal party. I think that you should come with. It’ll be good to get you out of that house.
Why is it that you haven’t gotten yourself married yet? You know that you aren’t getting any younger?? Either way, call me back. You’ll need to bring a gift too. Its impolite to show up without a gift.
Ah, I almost forgot. Your brother got a promotion at work; I’m not sure if he’s told you. We’ll be having dinner to celebrate this weekend. Can I count on you to be there?
Also, how is the job search going? Your father has some more connections for you to speak to. You need to take advantage of every one of them. You’re so close to getting something that really matters. I can feel it. Ah, I just feel like you’re wasting away there sitting at that computer with those silly classes. It’s like, barely any contribution at all. You could be making so much more money.
Anyway, call me back once you hear this.
love you sweetie, talk soon.
i know that its tuesday and i said I would publish on mondays shhh just pretend I published this yesterday ooP
hiiii can u plz do a kuroo first time blowjob?? thanks i love your blog!!!!!
hi sorry i was too busy playing animal crossing but im back
First Time Head with Kuroo
It was a bad idea that popped into your head, a terribly devilish thought that you were sure would get you in trouble-- but it was worth a shot, wasn't it?
You were the Nekoma volleyball team manager, and also the captain's girlfriend. What a wonderful world you live in; the team adored you, your boyfriend thought you were as sweet as sugar. The truth be told, you and Tetsurou had only gotten to first base the entirety of your eight month relationship. You were shy when it came to physical affection, and you had a bad habit of getting too nervous when your boyfriend's hands started wandering further than your shoulders. He was always the perfect gentleman when you had to stop due to your erratic heartbeat, and while you profusely apologized every time, he took it in stride and never pressured you to do anything you weren't comfortable with.
It wasn't that you didn't think he was attractive, it was quite the opposite. He was Adonis-- tall, lean muscle, abs, strong jaw line, hair that you wanted to run your hands through. He was too perfect and it intimidated you. Other than the physical limitations you had set, it was a great relationship. The two of you could talk for hours, joking and laughing. His personality fit yours, he didn't get upset at your sarcastic quips, he actually enjoyed then and retorted back with just as much sass.
"Y/n, what's the problem? Why do you look so nervous?" your friend Aimee asked once class had been released for lunch.
"Yeah, and you look really sweaty..." your other friend Sayori mentioned, motioning to your red face.
Fanning your face with your hands, you admitted, "I'm going to do the deed today, that's why I look like a hot mess."
The two girls grinned and squealed, gaining the attention of the few stragglers in the classroom. You hushed then quickly, hiding your head in your arms. "Guys, please! This is already a stressful day! I don't need you all screaming and making a big deal of it." you mumbled into your arms.
Someone patted your head and ruffled your hair. "You really must be nervous if you're scolding us instead of screaming too."
"You may be right, Sayori-chan, normally Y/n is the first one of us to scream about something exciting."
You lifted your head and glared at your friends while trying to hide your growing smile. Aimee grabbed your cheeks and squished them together while Sayori hoped with excitement, "You're finally growing up! You put on your big girl thong today!"
"Oh my God, please don't ever say that again!" you groaned, trying to push the brown haired girls hands away from your hurting cheeks.
Sayori stopped her jumping and put her hands on small hips. "But it's true, you're going to be be the first one of us to actually put one of those things in your mouth."
Aimee stopped her assault on your poor face and rebutted, "Hey! I almost did!"
"Yeah, but then you woke up from your dream and realized Morisuke wasn't actually there." you teased light heartily.
The three of you laughed and you finally stood from your desk, stepping out of the classroom with your two best friends. Your trio hiked up the steps to the roof, opening the door and scoping it out, making sure no one had claimed your lunch spot for themselves. The warn sun caressed your face and the breeze carried the scent of the freshly bloomed flowers with it, pollen included. It was a gorgeous day, barely any clouds in the sky and birds happily perched on the edge of the roof, singing songs in hopes of finding a mate.
Plopping down on one of the benches, you confessed, "I've never seen his... you know what in person, what if I hurt him?"
Sayori tied her red hair in a messy bun before responding. "I've given a hand job before, they're surprisingly durable; you're only going to hurt him if you bite him or something like that."
Before you could respond with a smart ass comment, the devil named Tetsurou texted you.
 Volleybitch (4) unread messages
Hey doll face (Ф∀Ф)
 You rolled your eyes as you responded.
yeah we're still on!! the fams gone for the weekend so we can actually use the big tv in the living room
 just promise to take a shower before we leave bc i dont want u sweating up my couch you stink
literally all the time
nasty sweaty man
Putting your phone away, you focused on your friends who were still more excited about your nights rendezvous than you were. It was true that you didn't want your boyfriend making your house smelling like a gym, but you didn't want to put your mouth on him when he was just running around getting sweaty. You had standards, and smelling and tasting sweat was not apart of those standards
"You ready to ditch this popsicle stand?" Kuroo asked, tossing his water bottle in his gym bag. His hair was slightly damp from the quick shower he had just had.
You rolled your eyes and replied sardonically, "With you? Never."
 "You're right, look at that eligible bachelor over there waiting to watch a shitty movie with you tonight." He walked over to you and flipped you, pointing at volleyball pole that was being put away. "That handsome man wants to take you to dinner, but he can only afford McDonalds. So sad, Y/n, you can only get something off of the dollar menu."
 You raised your eyebrows in fake consideration. "Perhaps, but he doesn't have any muscles, so it's a hard pass. Sorry, mister pole, but you're still single."
Your tall boyfriend laughed and guided you towards the gym doors, his hand on your back. You bit back a blush when he rubbed your back slightly. You're about to give this man a blowjob and you wanna blush when he touches your back? You were hopeless.
Your tall boyfriend laughed and guided you towards the gym doors, his hand on your back. You bit back a blush when he rubbed your back slightly. You're about to give this man a blowjob and you wanna blush when he touches your back? You were hopeless.
"So what movie have you decided on? It better not be anything related to Minions or Legos, or I promise you I will cry." Tetsurou deadpanned.
Humming, you grinned. "It's a surprise."
The ten minute walk to your house felt like an hour. You and Kuroo talked about the tournament coming up, but all you think of was the fact that you were going to suck this hot man's cock. The thought made you blush and salivate. Ideally his shirt would be off, letting you see how his work out regime gave him a delicious torso. You wondered how big he was, how thick it would be; would he taste good, would he be shaved? What if he didn't want you to suck him off? Would he find it repulsive?
"Y/n? Hey, dollface, we're at your house, stop walking or you're going to end up at your neighbors front door," Tetsurou's voice brought you back from your daze.
"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking of a strategy for the team and I guess I got lost in thought." you chuckled nervously, forcing your blush to evade.
Unlocking the door and stepping inside, your heart officially started to race. How was this going to start?
Right, start a movie!
"I'll start a movie if you wanna go get us something to drink from the kitchen," you suggested as you made your way towards the living room.
You shut the blinds in fear your neighbors would end up looking into them and seeing your lewd actions and quickly double checked to see if you locked the front door. Call yourself paranoid, but you didn't need anything interrupting.
Tetsurou returned with two glasses of water and a smirk. Once he placed the two glasses on the coffee table, he sink into the couch and gazed at the TV. "So, I see the decision is The Breakfast Club. Again."
"You know it's one of my favorite movies!" you argued, sitting beside him.
The movie started, and twenty minutes into the movie, it was time to start your plan.
You took a deep breath, exhaling through your nose. With a shaky hand, you ran it down Tetsurou's arm idly, gaining his attention. You could see his eyebrows raise in question as he gazed at your fingers brushing against his bicep. You wet your lips and kissed his cheek, traveling to his mouth.
This caught him completely off guard.
He didn't complain, though, shifting his body to make it more comfortable for the both of you. Feeling confident in yourself, your tongue brushed against his lips, asking permission to enter. He happily obliged, opening his mouth and letting your tongue graze his. His hands wandered to your shoulders, rubbing them as your tongues battled for dominance-- in the end, Tetsurou was victorious.
Your lower stomach was getting hot, you could feel your panties begin to dampen with arousal. His hands trailed down your shoulders to your arms, rubbing them softly. Your hands went to his hair, running your fingers through the tresses. The black haired boy groaned in your mouth, making you clamp your thighs shut. Feeling a burst of confidence, you broke the kiss and climbed into his lap, shocking him.
His eyes were dark with lust as he panted, "This is a nice surprise."
"Hush, or I'll stop." you murmured, going back to his lips with newly found gusto.
You've never been this aroused, your panties were soaked and threatening to spill onto your inner thighs. You knew your face was flushed brightly, but kissing Kuroo and feeling him harden beneath you was making your brain numb. It buzzed with lust and you could only focus on how his hands moved to your sides and how they felt like hot fire, his finger tips leaving warmth.
Experimenting was never something you thought you'd do, but you swiveled your hips in his lap, earning a heartfelt groan from the man beneath you. Breaking the kiss once more, you gazed at him with glossy eyes. Remembering your research, you stepped off of his lap and kneeled in front of his sitting form, peering at him through your lashes.
You'd never seen Kuroo blush, but seeing you on your knees, flustered, hair tousled, and lips plump from kissing, you'd think he'd passed out.
The tent in his shorts were impressive, no matter how baggy the shorts were. Licking your lips once more, your shaking hands tentatively rubbed up his thighs, nearing his growing cock. He stuttered and swallowed harshly. "What do you think you're doing, doll face?"
"I'm going to suck you off, Tetsurou," You swore you heard him groan. "Unless you have a problem with that?"
He shook his head. "Not at all."
Swallowing the sudden nerves, you helped him pull his shorts and underwear down, releasing his cock. Your eyes widened once you saw how impressive it was. Would that fit in your mouth? Licking your lips, you stuck your tongue out and grazed the head of his swollen member, enticing a hiss from your boyfriend.
"Fuck, Y/n..." he muttered, bringing one of his clenched fists to his mouth, biting it.
Gaining the confidence back you had originally, you popped the head into your mouth, sucking it lightly. Tetsurou stuttered out a moan, whispering your name. You went down his shaft a bit further, gripping one of his thighs for leverage. Kuroo was very vocal, giving you praises and groaning every time you sucked your cheeks in. Your other hand went to grip the rest of his cock that you couldn't fit into your sore mouth. He was girthy, your jaw was beginning to hurt from the unusual strain. You bobbed your head with more speed, glancing up at Tetsurou who had his head thrown back in pure bliss. Your neglected, throbbing sex was growing more aroused with slick, this boy was going to be the death of you.
His hips started thrusting shallowly to meet your mouth, one of his hands going to your hair. His moans were becoming louder and the grip in your hair was growing tighter.
"That's it, Y/n, don't stop. God, who knew you had such a good mouth," he praised.
Kuroo Tetsurou was coming undone before you and it was sexiest thing you've ever seen.
All because of you.
hey!!! guess who's done!!! it's me, knull anon!! also fair warning for a 3k word fic thag I just made in two part today!!
p.s., theres also a bonus at the end!!! dont miss it!!
_____
Driving past the beautiful buildings and apartments, you rested your elbow on the car handle where you almost laid your head against the window had it not been for Mercy. “_____, you can’t sleep here.”
You mumbled out something strange before you rested your head on the head of your seat. You really wanted to sleep, as you couldn’t feel your feet when you got into the car, but you knew that your bed would be a lot more comfortable in the long run.
You turned to look at Lex, and he was on the phone with someone. You didn’t even notice him, probably because he was whispering in an exasperated voice. You didn’t try to tune in, as he would probably notice either way, so instead you kept on looking out the window. You saw shops, restaurants, even other gala places like the one you were just at. You even saw the Lexcorp tower.
One thing you remember from your past life was that someone… Was it your mother or father? It was both, right? Anyway, either one would always take you on a night drive every month, usually on a Tuesday for some strange reason. You would usually listen to music on these drives, and the lights in the towns and cities were always so pretty. Even now, it was pretty to you, since there weren’t many people this late at night and the shops were still running. You looked up to one building noticing the bright lights that accompanied the sign. But your attention turned to the top of the building.
There seemed to be two people, one who was extremely tall, with two… sticks in his hands. And the other had a cape and a hoodie, who was shorter than the other man. This one also had a katana. You tried to get a better look, but the car started to move again, and you again tried to look back. But Mercy noticed.
“____, what are you looking at?” She asked, looking where you were watching. You looked back, but there was nothing there. “... I guess there was nothing there.” You whispered to yourself. “What?” Mercy asked. “Nothing. I thought I saw a person on the roof.”
Mercy didn’t say anything and she went back to looking around to make sure that the driver was going the way they were supposed to.
~~~~~
“Dick, what the hell?!” Damian whispered to his older brother. Currently, they were hiding behind a wall on the building you were looking at. Dick sighed before he said, “Well, you were there too, so don’t just put the blame on me!”
“I’m not tall and I don’t wear bright colors!”
“Oh really-” Dick then noticed that Damian was not in his normal yellow and red suit, but instead he was in a more stealthy color.
“The only thing I have is a bluebird on my chest!”
“A big blue bird-”
“Can you guys just… try to follow the car?”
Tim was at his breaking point: he was really at his breaking point. Damian was heard arguing with Dick for a few more seconds before Tim just decided to follow the car himself. Which somehow worked.
“Does anyone have a tracker on that thing?” Duke asked, also following the car. He wasn’t as tired as Tim, but he understood where he was coming from. “Yeah, I’ll send the location to you in just a sec.”
~~~~~
Driving up to the big gates, you felt really tired when you felt the car stop, but at least there weren't any paparazzi you had to run over. You got out of the car and started to walk with Mercy to the elevator, when you thought you heard something from the other side of the empty parking garage. You turned your head, only to see empty space and columns. You tried to look around more, but Mercy had started to lead you towards the elevator already.
Getting into the elevator, you stood with Mercy to listen to the almost silent beeps of the elevator getting higher into the building.
“Ah, I almost forgot, I’ll bring you your dinner to eat in the room. I understand your exhaustion.”
“Oh, what did the cook make?”
“Honey glazed ham with mashed potatoes and gravy.”
You remembered that from before you got here. Your mother would make that every day if you asked her to. You also started to notice how… nice mercy was being towards you. You remember when you first met her, she did not like you at all. In fact the only thing she would say is… well, nothing really. However, that was months ago. Now, she greets you and gives you small talk. She even gives you little presents if you’re good.
When the elevator chimed to your floor, and the doors opened, you were expecting more guards then you saw. Usually there were more than 5 there, but there was no one in the hallway. Even Mercy looked a little shocked. However, she just took your hand and led you through the halls back to your room, where she then opened your door and pointed to the drawers. “You should probably change into something more comfortable. You aren’t going anywhere for another couple weeks at least, so that's a good thing.”
You nodded and walked over to the dresser to change. You picked out a pair of pajamas that were extremely soft before you walked to the bathroom.
~~~~
Getting out of the bathroom you heard strange music coming from below you. It wasn’t ugly, or loud, just… rumblings of sad music. It sounded nice. You walked over to your overly plush bed and you crawled in, ignoring the strange feeling that was pooling in your mind. Something telling you to be alert, but you were too tired to care. Tossing and turning wasn’t helping you either. Finally you decided that it was getting unbearable. It was then you noticed that you never got a knock on the door from Mercy for your food. Groaning, you climbed out of bed only to notice how cold it felt. You slipped on some slippers that were also extremely soft and warm, before you walked to the door and tried to pull on the handle. It was locked. Of course it was. It's never open in the first place. You sighed and wondered where everyone went. You still felt the rumbling beneath you from the music, so you knew someone was down there, but you just didn’t know who.
Instead of freezing to death, however, you bundled yourself in many different blankets, most soft, fuzzy and warm. Waddling over to the bed you stumbled into your mattress and groaned. You wanted to just fall asleep, but something was keeping you awake. It was a nagging feeling like you just weren’t alone. You crawled your way so that you were leaning against your wall and you also had a view of the room to make sure that there wasn't anyone in there with you.
You were about to crawl back down but then, there was a noise at the door. It was unlocking, you thought, it was probably Mercy finally bringing you your food. However, when the door opened, it was not Mercy. In fact, it was a… boy. Probably a new servant, but still a boy.
He looked to be about your age, and he was wearing the usual uniform that the servants would wear. He was also carrying a tray.
Looking at you bundled up in almost all of your blankets, he gave you a small bow, as to not drop the food. You looked at him up and down, before you asked, “Who are you?”
He stood there, before he coughed a little, and said, “I’m the, uh, new butler assigned to bring you food.”
You gave him a look. “I thought Mercy was supposed to bring the food? Where is she?”
The boy looked a little surprised. “She’s, um, a little busy. With Luthor.”
You gave a nod before he brought the food to you. You unwrapped yourself from the blankets and leaned over to him a bit. He had a tray underneath his arm, and he brought it out so he could lay the food on your bed. He then placed both the tray to carry your food and your food itself onto your bed. Opening the cover, it revealed, just as Mercy had said, honey glazed ham and mashed potatoes and gravy. He gave you two cans of Arizona tea- Arizona tea?
You checked the labels again, surprised that Lex would even give this to you. Usually he gave you a better drink, and something “better”. You did miss the taste of Arizona tea, however, so you didn’t object to getting the tea. Eating your meal, the boy stayed with you while you ate. He didn’t seem to care about you for a minute, before he asked, “What's your name?”
You looked at him to see him close to the bed. You gulped down a piece of ham and said, “____. What's yours?”
“... Damian.”
“Oh, nice. So. When did they hire you?”
Damian did not answer you, but instead asked his own question. “When did you decide to join Lex Luthor?”
You gave him a look. “You must be new around here if you’re asking that.”
Finishing your ham, you moved to the mashed potatoes. “I don’t know why I’m here to be honest. I was taken here a few months ago. I was only found out by a colleague of his a few days ago when they saw me. Or was it a few weeks? I don’t know. I don’t have a calendar. I don’t even know what's going on in the world.” You laughed a little at the last part. However, you saw him start to ask something again.
But then, you had a bright idea. “Hey, speaking of which, what’s happening outside, around the world? People never tell me anything here.”
Damian gave you a look before saying, "Well, Wayne Enterprises is gaining more stock, and Lexcorp isn’t too happy about it."
Putting another piece of potatoes in your mouth, you laughed. "Lex was yelling about that yesterday. Talking about loss of money."
For the next 20 or so minutes, you talked with Damian and laughed with him about different things, and he would also tell you things about the world outside your luxurious penthouse.
Finally, after you finished your food, you put your dishes and trash on the food tray before you gave it to him. "Well. Thank you for keeping me company. Usually only Mercy is allowed to do that.” he nodded and took your tray before he placed it back on the nightstand next to you.
He gave you his hand, before asking, “Lex asked for you to be walked around tonight. He said you haven’t been out of the house for awhile.”
You gave him another look before telling him, “Damian, you do know I was at a gala today for at least 6 hours, right?”
His facade slipped then. You realized that when he stood tall, and he let his arms go to his sides instead of behind his back. At first, you thought he was going to attack you, but instead he pulled something out of his back pocket and he put it on. Then he took off his uniform and-
Oh, shit.
This was the kid you saw at the top of the building.
“I’m sure you can tell who I am by the look on your face. My name is Robin, and I’m here to take you away from here.”
~~~~~~
Sneaking past the large doors was easy enough, especially considering the fact that Damian knew what he was doing. He led you through the place like he had lived there, and before you knew it, you were almost to the parking garage. But when you both reached the elevator, instead of going down, he went up.
Giving him a look, he quickly explained. “People know you’re out: They think you’re alone, and since you don’t know of the rooftop area, they’re all gathered down there to get you.”
“How do you know that-”
“SHHH!” Damian gave you a look and turned to the left corridor that led to the large double doors that led to a lounge. He turned back to the elevator, and when he realized there wasn’t enough time for the elevator to come down, he quickly dragged you over to a large statue and hid you behind it along with himself.
You tried to listen but being pressed up against a statue was kind of difficult already. However, you did recognize the steps of the person walking. Pride, power- anger. Fast moving, loud, rage, it all sounded like Lex Luthor himself. And he sounded like he was carrying something.
Mercy was with him, you quickly realized, and she sounded a little muffled.
“-the little bitch got me right in the nose, and then I got knocked out, sir. He took one of the uniforms in the closet, he has black hair, he's short, and he doesn’t have his registry on him.”
“Tell that to the guards around the perimeter. Tell them that no one is going to leave this damn place until both ____ and that fucker are found.”
And with that, you heard someone reload a shotgun before heading into the elevator that was now there.
“Where do you think they’ll be?”
“She only knows the way to the parking garage, so we should look there first, sir. I don’t know how much the other one knows, but-”
When the elevator started to head down, Damian grabbed your arm and started to drag you towards… somewhere. Mercy was right, you had no idea where anything was. You only knew the way from the parking garage to your room. However, Damian seemed to know where to go.
“Uh, where are we going again?”
He turned back to you before gesturing to a large metal door. Stairs.
“We’re going to go up there and escape. We have to hurry, though: they will realize you aren’t in the parking garage.”
~~~~~
You were almost out of breath when you finally reached the rooftop. It felt like you were running for your life. It was so thrilling, and yet, the only thing keeping you going was freedom.
It wasn’t like you weren’t unappreciative of the things given to you by Lex, but you missed being able to walk around and be wherever without having 16 guards surrounding you.
Damian said something, but you didn’t hear it due to the blood pumping to your head: It sounded almost relaxing if it wasn’t increasing.
Dragging you around a bit, he whispered something into his comm, and again, you couldn’t hear it, but from the looks of it this entire thing was almost done.
Suddenly, something dropped seemingly from thin air. A rope.
Looking up, you saw a small, but fairly large ship floating right above you. Damian grabbed you by the waist and started to pull you up. You tried to help yourself, but not going anywhere really put a toll on your body, so he did most of the work. As you were halfway there, though, you heard a shot through the air, and turning around, you saw Lex holding a shotgun with multiple guards surrounding both you and Damian. Mercy was with Lex, and she looked pissed off, even with a bloody nose. Damian was also looking around. You heard something from his ear, along the lines of, “Plan B?” to which Damian responded, “Yeah, plan B.”
Suddenly, he cut the rope you both were hanging off of, and while falling, he got you over his shoulder and started to run towards an area where guards weren’t as plentiful. You were able to look up from your spot, but the only thing you saw was Lex reloading and Mercy yelling something. More guards started to chase the both of you, while Damian seemed to be choosing where to go. He suddenly changed directions, sprinting towards the edge of one building. Realizing what he was going to do, you asked, “That’s a 6 story drop, you know!”
He didn’t listen. He instead jumped and while you expected to die, you were glad that you were at least free of the strange man who kept you here. However, you landed on something: hard. It was the ship that tried to get you earlier!
Bringing you inside, you realized he must have jumped onto a platform. He brought you over to a table where he tried to see if you were injured, however, a gunshot made you both duck. Looking out of the closing platform, you saw Lex continuing to shoot at the ship, trying to take it down, but failing.
You turned back to the occupants of the ship itself and saw three more people besides Damian: One was the one who was standing with him on that rooftop, with two sticks at his sides, one who was tall and had a bright yellow suit on him, and one was at the front of the ship where it was hard to see anything.
The yellow suit guy came up to you first and offered his hand.
“Hi! My codename is Signal, but you can call me Duke. What’s your name?”
______
wow!! that was fun to write!!! I might write a third part but that yanpapa starro anon... ur on to something. Also I need to start on part 3 of "how symbiotes stole you from one another that led to that one trilogy about toxin playing uno with you to getting drugged by cletus kassady". yay! anyways, love you so much, with lots of love,
- knull anon
Bonus:
Lex was beyond pissed. His guards failed at the one thing they were supposed to be good at, and they failed. And it cost him his daughter, too. Mercy was the only thing keeping him from going on a rampage, telling him that the batkids probably had many hiding spots, that they manipulated you into going with them, all other things.
“I want you to find out where they took her and why. Oh, also, if you do find the one who took her?” Mercy nodded, awaiting orders. “I want him alive. I want to kill him myself.”
She nodded again and walked out of his office. As Lex started to walk back to his desk, he noticed there was still reminisce of glass on it. He looked at the broken window where Mercy said she had thrown the strange boy who had taken _____, before he climbed back up and knocked her out. Sighing, he let his hands curl into fists, before he grabbed the chair and threw it across the room, and then he flipped the table.
Rage was all that he could feel at the moment. No one knew of her existence: Who would’ve known? Who had met her and had such an interest that they had to take her from him? What happened-
Suddenly remembering the gala, Lex felt his face become hot and red. He was feeling more furious than he had ever been. He stormed over to one of the beautiful statues he owned in his office, before he pulled out another shotgun from the leg of the stone. He walked over to a different statue holding something in its hand, just in his reach, and picked it up. It was ammunition, and reloaded it so it was full. He stomped out of his office, ignoring glass that cut into his shoes.
“Bruce Wayne…” Luthor whispered to himself, getting his phone to call Mercy.
“I’m going to kill you.”
Oh, wow! You’re really something, Knull anon! This was exceptional! *chef’s kiss* 🥰😍💚💕💖

Y,know how I said I had another au, and had a small oneshot for it:)
Well here's the oneshot, and bonus very out of context because I haven't talked about it yet. Hyrule meets Legend scene! Au is still being put together and is not really thought out much, but it does include the other under-appreciated links, such as Picori (whose also in this small written piece), Spirit, and Tempo. (Will add more if I find out there's others)
Pre-warning I don't know how to do the undercut thing with posts, so it's very long.
Enjoy:)
---------------------------------------------------
Okay, at this point Hyrule knew he was lost. Very lost.
The further he treked through the thick foilage to find his way back to the fountain. The weaker it's magic became, he was getting further away from it with each passing second.
He knew his sense of direction was terrible but this was just ridiculous.
He tried to call out to any fellow fairy or family that could hear him, to no avail.
It was almost dark, as the sun descended beneath the trees. A few stars making themselves present early. His faint glow making itself known in the growing dark. A pale green.
Pushing through a few more bushes, he comes to a small clearing. Taken up mostly by a decently large pond. It looked pretty deep too.
He felt no fairy magic emanating from the waters and with a disappointed huff sat down beside the ponds rocks.
There was a different kind of magic in the pond though, at the bottom. It felt safe, and somehow he knew it wouldn't hurt him.
Staring up at the stars once more, he sent a prayer to whatever goddess was listening that he'd find his home soon, his mother must be worried sick he hasn't come home before night fall.
He was tired, straying so far from his mother's magic had taken a toll on him. Placing a minor protection spell on the small clearing, he dropped his travel bag on the floor and pulled out a blanket. Nestling himself into a comfortable position using his bag as a pillow of sorts.
"Goodnight mom." He whispered, as he let his eye lids finally close to get some rest.
---
When he woke up it was to a shadow looming over him. He groaned as his eyes slowly opened to meet with a pair of violet ones.
A pale face that looked at him quizitivelly from above. This figure tilted there head at him with a curious glint in there eyes. Short pink hair swept to once side dropping slightly. His long pink bangs swaying beneath his face to the gentle wind.
His eyes widened as he woke up fully, staring at the one above him, whose eyes also widened.
The boy (as he guessed) lept into the pond with a graceful splash and pained gasp. Hyrule rushed to get up. Packing his blanket away and comfortably getting his bag on. He sensed pain was on the boy. He was hurt.
He jumped to the waters edge and peered down to look for the other, finding nothing. Until they peeked there eyes out of the water, brows forrowwed.
"I-im sorry for startling you. I didn't mean to scare you like that." He apologised sitting down in his spot.
The other looked away for a moment before peeking his Head out further so he could see his mouth.
"It's okay. I've just never seen one of your kind before." He replied. His voice was smooth and kind.
Never seen a fairy?
"I've only ever read about fairys in books back home, but fairys were written to be smaller. Your like a very small great fairy, why is that?" The boy asked with a tilt of his head.
"Oh, that's because I'm a great fairy in training." He answered slowly. His eyes trailing to the faint red in the water. The wound.
The boy seemed satisfied with his answer, a small hesitant trust being formed.
"I couldn't help but notice your hurt. Would you mind if I healed you?" He asked, wringing his wrists.
This took the boy by suprise and with small slow nod, he swam closer and reached his arm out of the water. There was a few scars here and there, and what looked like a golden fin across the back of his arm. The boy looked away at first, but once the fairy started to let his magic flow he watched in awe. As the green magic knitted the bloody cut on his arm back together.
When Hyrule pulled his arms away, cutting the magic off, the boy admiring his newly healed arm.
"Did you hurt it on the rocks when I startled you?"
A knod, before the other perked up.
"I'll be back in a second." At that the boy dove under and after about a minute or two he came back up with some cut fish in hands.
"For you." He dropped them on the ground beside Hyrule, awaiting a response.
For a moment he just looked between the other and the fish, before giving an akward smile.
"Oh thank you." He chuckled nervously.
The boy just continued to wait patiently.
"What do I do with them?"
"You eat them, its food."
Glancing down at the fish, he curiously picked one up and went to take a bite.
"Wait y-you cook it first. You were gonna eat it raw?" The boy exclaimed with concern.
Oh.
With a snap of his fingers a small flame appeared in his palm. Growing by the second and so he started to roast it.
Once done (although he burned it in a few places). He finally took a bit. It was juicy but dry, no doubt his own doing. And tasted plain but salty. The burnt bits tasted bitter. But all in all it satisfied him. After his first bite, he set it down and cooked another, holding it out to the boy in the pond.
"I realized I never asked for your name, I'm Hyrule." He spoke, as the boy gingerly took the offered fish.
"I'm Legend." He took a bite and grimaced at first to the taste but settled.
He packed the rest of the fish away in his bag after asking if the boy wanted anymore.
Crossing his legs and resting his head in his palms.
"Hey, ive been meaning to ask. Why do you stay in the pond?"
The boys face frorrowed, his eyes traced the rocks instead of the fairy, and lifted what the fairy assumed was his version of legs. A large white blotched amareanth fishtail, lined with golden fins, some tattered near the end but not much.
"Oh you can't go that far." He spoke sadly.
"Yeah, no legs means no land travel. Fish tail means water travel only." He said simply.
"Do you live in this pond, have any family around here?" He asked a pit forming in his gut.
Legend shook his head,
"I was dropped here on accident by poachers after the few days travel they had me. I've been stuck in this pond for almost a whole week now if in correct. I lived in Hylia lake, with my uncle."
Lake Hylia!
That was at least a few days travel from his fountain, how far did the poachers go to abduct him?
He wanted to help he really did, but what could he do?
...
Then like a blessing from above, an idea popped in his head. Details would be thought of next. But he had an idea, and he was going to help this weird hylian.
Hyrule brightened immediately.
"Hey, what if I took you home? Act as your guide across the lands." Hyrule suggested.
Legend looked at him as if he grew two heads.
"How are you going to do that?"
He didn't know but maybe he could carry Legend to his fountain when he found it and ask his mother for advice. She always knew what to do.
"I could take you to my fairy fountain and find out what to do from there." He suggested, with a shrug and nervous smile.
The pink haired kid, tilted his head in thought before giving a nod.
"That could work. Better than being stuck in here till the day i die."
Thankfully a thought on what he could do came to mind. An friend could possibly help.
"Perfect! It's settled then!" At that Hyrule brought his point finger and thumb to his mouth and gave a shrill whistle.
He waited a full minute or two before a small willow bird swooped in and perched in his hair.
A small mouse like creature getting off its back and peeking over his forehead from his hair. The creature no bigger than a hylians thumb.
"Hyrule! Long time no see!" The small thing squeaked cheerfully.
They clung to a curl of hair and dropped onto Hyrules waiting palm. The fairy chuckling at the small person?
"It has, hasn't it?" He laughed. Before the small mouse caught eye with Legend.
"A hylian in the pond? And it seems they can see me?" They chittered.
"I dont think hes a hylian. Either he isn't or he is and hes a weird one." Hyrule whispered.
"I'm a mer, deffintly not hylian. And what is that thing in your palm." Legend asked from the water resting his arms on the sand dirt edge.
Oh so that's what he was, he was going to ask mother about that later.
"This is Picori, of the Minish. He's been my best friend, since I could even walk. He may be able to help us with our problem." Hyrule smilled.
"That explains the pond, hylians tend to hate getting wet in clothing." Picori huffed.
Hyrule hummed before, leaning closer to the Minish in his palm. Whispering something Legend couldn't hear or understand with the change in Hyrules language.
Hyrule backed up, and Picori seemed to hum before saying something to the other.
"Alright, Legend I'm going to need to carry you for this next part, would you be okay with that?" Hyrule looked over to the mer in question expectantly.
"Where are you taking me, exactly?" He asked, pulling himself out of the water.
And now, could Hyrule so the rest of him properly. He had what looked like a black tunic like shirt, long sleeves folded above the elbows, and a collar he now folded up, hidding the gills on his neck.
A black and silver belt wrapped around his waist and bottom half of the tunic.
The metal emited no familiar heat, safe.
"Cori has a solution to our problem." He chirped, putting Picori on his shoulder, and reaching to pick Legend up.
Abite difficult and painstakingly Hyrule managed to carry him bridal style, in the directions Picori instructed.
Being meet with a tree stump, that radiated the same magic Picori did.
"Place him on the stump and me on his shoulder." Picori instructed.
Hyrule nodded gently and put Legend on the stump. Next reaching a hand for Picori to climb on and let him onto legends shoulder.
"Tell him not to freak out with this next part, they always do the first go around." Picoris muttered, Hyrule relaying the message.
"Okay now I'm worried, what's the small guy on my shoulder planning." Legend asked nervously.
Hyrule lifting hands to gently take the bird from his head, placing her down on a nearby rock with a pet.
"You'll see in a second." The fairy smiled with a tilt of his head, hair falling with the motion. Before he shrank in the blink of an eye. To a normal fairys size, Legend could only blink dumbly as Hyrule fluttered in place, waiting he noticed.
Picori chittering something from his shoulder, before he felt a strong magic pull him. He landed with an oof on giant mushrooms inside a what looked like the inside of the stump he was sitting on.
Wait-
A small thumping alerted the presence of the Minish, who was now almost the same size as himself (Almost, he was still tiny compared to the others), as he scampered over and helped the merman down from the fungi, and over to a waiting Hyrule by the exit of the stump. The minish and fairy sharing a quick tight hug, before the merman was picked up and held again.
The minish handed Legend a small pale brown thing that looked edible, smelled bitter, but nice. And was told to eat it by Hyrule.
It was an uncomfortable mess with his hearing, a soft static and deafness before it settled and he could understand the mouse guys greeting.
Getting a good look at the world as it was now that he was smaller. It looked huge, and so much more different, things he'd never notice before in full view now. All though he'd never really seen what the surface had to offer anyway. Intill the poachers of course. But still.
"I better grow again before I'm returned home." Legend smirked.
Getting a short laugh from Hyrule.
"You will when when we get to my fountain."
Picori blew a quick whistle with his pinky fingers at a higher note than Hyrules from before. The willow bird peered up, and flapped over. Awaiting it's riders to board.
"You do know where my fountain is, right Picori?" The fairy asked with a nervous chuckle.
The minish nodded getting on the birds back.
No one needed to know he was lost, and add to his reputation. So it went unsaid.
Once they were all situated and Legend was held securely. The bird shot up into the sky at Picoris gentle command.
End
Good day/night whoever read this, hope your doing good^^

You woke up and Will was gone. You must have fallen asleep on the chair beside his bed. You started to panic which had become a much too familiar feeling. You got up and started to walk around. You thought about asking a doctor or something but didn’t want to worry anyone but yourself just in case it was nothing. You walked through the halls, peeking in rooms for your boyfriend who slept walked more often than not these days. You got to the room of the girl who had been under your bed and Will was inside.
“Will?” you whispered. He turned around.
“Hi. I didn’t want to wake you.”
“Dont’ worry about it.” You glanced at her. She looked so much better than you had seen her last considering.
“I don’t think we’ve met properly,” she said. “Georgia.”
“Y/N.”
“I’m sorry, I heard I kinda crashed under your bed.” You shook your head and laughed.
“No worries there.” You turned to Will. “You should come back to your room.” He turned to Georgia sarcastically.
“Helicopter girlfriend,” he teased.
“Yeah I wouldn’t have to be if you slept through the night,” you confessed. Georgia laughed and you grabbed Will’s pole that he was holding. He nodded and waved goodbye to her before following you out the door.
You walked out of the room and he turned to you.
“She said they would never figure out what’s wrong with me,” he whispered.
“She’s not a doctor.” He glanced at you and then the ground as he shuffled along.
“You’re optimistic.”
“I gotta me. You’re pessimistic,” you whispered teasingly as you made it back to his room. He nodded.
“So you think they’ll figure it out?” You shook your head softly.
“I hope they do. But honestly, I think you’re too complicated for them.”
-
Will woke up later to a light conversation. You were sitting on the bed and Hannibal stood at the edge of it.
“Well it is complicated,” Hannibal was saying quietly.
“What’s complicated?” Will asked. You looked over at him and smiled comfortingly.
“Nothing.”
“You keeping secrets now?” Will teased, sitting up.
“We were talking about how to make this soup. Y/N said she couldn’t quite cook and I was sharing the recipe,” Hannibal explained.
“He’s brought food,” you said happily.
“Smells delicious.”
“Silkie chicken in a broth. A black boned bird prized in China for its medicinal value since the 7th century. With wolfberries, ginseng, ginger, red dates and star anise,” Hannibal explained.
“You made me chicken soup,” Will said and Hannibal offered a supportive smile.
“Y/N says you’ve been wandering.”
“I was awake. And wandering with purpose and good intentions,” he promised. You nodded.
“Just visiting around,” you promised.
“Visiting that unfortunate young woman suffering from delusions?”
“She’s my support group,” he joked. You hit him gently. “You are also my support group. Relax.” Will got out of bed and sat down at the table while the three of you ate the broth together. “Could all of the things have been the fever Hannibal? Like the hallucinations or the sleepwalking, the loss of time,” Will asked as he sat down.
“It’s possible.”
“What else is possible?” you asked.
“Fevers can be symptoms of dementia. Dementia can be a symptom of many things happening in your body or mind that can no longer be ignored,” Hannibal said.
“Does Jack know?”
“That this could be a fever? No I haven’t told him,” Hannibal said.
“He wouldn’t do anything about it either,” you muttered bitterly.
“But shouldn’t you?” Will asked.
“I believe Y/N may be right. Additionally we don’t know for certain.”
-
Will walked with you into the room of Georgia who you felt as though you had just spoken to. Her charred body laid across the burn tank.
“Hospital speculates a short circuit could have ignited the fire,” Jack muttered.
“Unit looks well maintained. No exposed wiring,” Price said.
“Don’t know if she suffocated or burned to death. We’ll look for soot in the lining of her airways,” Zeller commented. Will lets out a shaky sigh and puts his hand almost protectively on your arm.
“Horrible way to die,” he whispered.
-
Will woke up with a start and it woke you up. It was odd not to be laying beside him but you were sitting in the uncomfortable chair beside the bed. He breathed heavily.
“Do you need something?” you whispered. Will grabbed your arm and pulled you to the bed. He wasn’t sweating and didnt’ feel hot. You wrapped your arms around him and he put his head on your chest.
“Sleep here,” he whispered. You nodded
-
The next day you walked into Abigail's room. It was the first time you had been away from Will since he had been admitted to the hospital. Hannibal had urged you to leave but not come back to work just yet although you would be back the next day.
She looked up and let out a sigh of relief.
“I thought you were Freddie,” she muttered.
“Or Alana who is also watching you like a hawk?” you asked. She nodded. She knew you knew and that was a good thing when it came down to it. She didn't feel like she had to hide with you.
“Just anybody else,” she murmured. You walked inside and sat at the window sill with her.
“How have you been?”
“Do you know that Hannibal is in love with you and Will?” she asked. You choked on the air at the change of subject. She was a teenager. But still.
“Excuse me?”
“I thought it was weird when I noticed. I wanted to know if you had noticed,” she said. You shook your head.
“Will, Hannibal and I are close friends,” you said lightly.
“But you and Will are dating,” she suggested.
“Yeah so?”
“Hannibal loves the two of you as a unit I think,” she said. “I told him I thought of all of you as a weird parental group and he got oddly happy.”
“Abigail-”
“It’s just an observation,” she whispered. “I’m fine.” You laughed at the change of tone.
“Good to hear.”
-
When you got back to the hospital Will was gone. You were notebally pissed. You walked right into the building where he worked and up to Jack Crawford's office. You could hear Will’s voice from down the hall.
You opened the door aggressively and they both turned around.
“Did you do this?” you asked at Jack.
“He checked himself out. I told him to go back,” he said honestly. You walked up to Will and put your hand on his forehead. Still warm but not boiling like he had been.
“Why did you-”
“Jack thinks she killed herself. I think it’s the copy cat of Garret Jacob Hobbs.” You blinked twice. Even for Will, that was a stretch. But you trusted his instinct more than your own.
“And you can wait to catch them. It’s been this long,” you said, removing your hand. He shook his head.
“I have to do it now. I’m thinking clearer, I’m finally thinking clearly.” His eyes pleaded but they still looked undescribingly broken. You glanced at Jack who clearly didn’t believe Will at all. “Jack also thinks Abigail had something to do with the murders.”
“What?”
“I’m not explaining this to you. You don't’ work for me,” Jack said.
“Neither does Will! He’s not on a payroll is he?” you asked. Jack let out a sigh.
“Will go talk to Hannibal,” Jack said simply.
“Finally something I can agree on,” you murmured.
-
Will ran up to you. It had been a few days since he released himself from the hospital and you were still annoyed about it. You turned to him, raising an eyebrow as he came out of the office of Hannibal's place.
“The copycat,” he said. You nodded, curious to hear what he had to say. He rarely talked to you about any kind of stuff with his work. “Was planning to frame me for the murder of the doctor.”
“He wouldn’t have been able to do it. I was there,” you said.
“But you’re unreliable,” he said.
“Excuse me?” He shook his head.
“You’re my girlfriend. You would have been accused of lying,” he said. You shook your head.
“I am very reliable. Why are you telling me this?” He shrugged.
“You need to know.”
-
First day back at work. This was a mistake.
You ran your hand over your head and Jack Crawford walked in. He thought about asking you what he was about to ask Hannibal but decided against it.
“You don’t have an appointment,” you said bitterly.
He opened the door anyway. You were still working when Hannibal and Jack opened the door quickly. Hannibal looked at you and you thought about what Abigail had said. That he was in love with you and Will. You pushed it aside when you saw the pity in his eyes.
“Where’s Will?” he asked.
“At home. Hopefully. Why?”
“Will Graham is at Garett Jacob Hobbs house with Abigail,” Jack said. You scoffed.
“You on something?”
“Where was Will on the night of Marrisa Schuur’s murder? ‘
“Again, at home presumably.” Hannibal stared at you. Hard. “What?”
“Will dissociates into other personalities. Whose personality is it?” Jack asked. “Will got close enough to Hobbs to think he was him.”
You scoffed again.
“Sorry, what the hell is your point?”
“Will is going to kill Abigail. And he killed the girls before,” Hannibal said. You stared in Hannibal’s eyes.
“You can’t be serious.”
“I’m serious.”
“Hannibal you know him! He trusts you to know him,” you seethed, standing up from anger and audacity. You pointed a hard finger at him. “Will Graham didn’t kill anyone he didn't’ have to.”
“The evidence suggests-” Jack started
“Hey Jack, I don’t really care what you’re about to say and so if you say it I’ll have to hit you or Hannibal or something.”
“I’m going to get Abigail,” Hannibal said. Jack walked out of the room but your gaze stayed steady on Hannibal’s.
“You don’t think he did this,” you said.
“A statement and not a question?” You shook your head.
“He didn’t do this.”

The Dating Game
@fandom-goddd and @bakablyat
[Chapter One of my Shinsai Salmon Mode fic, Dm me for the Ao3 link. Nothing Explicit BUT some implied V3 spoilers]
"... A dating game?" He echoed the bear's words as he lay on his dorm room's bed. It was already strange to wake up in a locker, introduce himself to fifteen other people, and have a mechanical bear talk about how the 'original program changed' and this was 'a different mode'.
[Something about a killing game... Shuichi would rather not think about that too hard]
It was quite frankly... a mess. He should probably get to talking to people if he expected to find love. At the same time, how was someone supposed to find love in ten days?
[However there was an undeniable feeling and even partial truth that he knew these people. Like when Momota (who instituted on being called Kaito), someone he supposedly never met, called him 'sidekick' and it just felt right. Or how Akumatsu, the girl he woke up in the same classroom as, commented she was proud he took off his hat... it was odd to be with familiar strangers]
A knock at his door brought him to his senses. He opened, cautiously peering out until he saw the enthusiastic Piano Player.
"Hey! Shuichi!" She gave him a motivated greeting, her smile wide.
"Oh, hello Akumatsu," He returned her smile, though his not nearly as big.
"You know you can call me Kaede, but nevermind that. So, come on tell me, who do you have your eyes set on," She gave a teasing poke to his shoulder. He only stepped back, face flushed red.
"E-eyes on?" She hadn't already begun this 'dating game', did she?
"Mhmm," All of sudden her eyes went wide "You have started talking to the others, right?"
"Umm, No But- Hey!" He was grabbed and now being dragged out of his room.
"Nope, come on! Let's find you someone nice to hang out with," Soon he was released and following behind her.
He really was being dragged into this, huh?
*
"Hmmm, I see Kaito is with Maki. Kiibo is over there talking with Rantaro while Kokichi is spying on them. Himiko is being fought over by Angie and Tenko. Well, at least they look like they're having fun," Kaede talked about his 'potential suitors' (her words not his), her arms crossed as she carefully considered everyone. The detective only looked over at whomever she was talking about and began to feel tension in his chest. "Ooo maybe- wait no Tsumugi is taking a rest in her room last I knew. We were running in the gym, to try something new for the both of us, and I think I wore her out".
"Um, I don't want to be seen as being too pushy but maybe we can hang out?" At least comparatively she seemed very approachable, and he already felt semi-comfortable talking with her.
"I would love to! But... well actually, I'm about to go spend some time with Kirumi. However, Miu wanted something to eat first and I wanted to see how you were doing so it worked out. But, I don't think we'd have enough time to 'hang out' 'hang out', make sense?"
"Yeah, that does..." A little disappointing, but he wasn't going to be upset at her. Really, he should be thankful she's making an effort for him otherwise he'd probably still be contemplating in his room.
"Hey! Anyone not busy!" She called out and Shuichi really wished he had his hat to hide under. "Well that didn't work- wait! Shinguji, are you with anyone right now?" Her energy knew no bounds as she spun on her heels and headed toward her attended 'target' dragging the other teen behind her.
She was speaking to the long haired teen who'd been sitting quietly on the bench; from what the detective could recall his full name was Korekiyo Shinguji, and his title was the Ultimate Anthropologist. He was a bit strange, but he had no obvious qualms with him.
Korekiyo's eyes looked up from the book he held in his hands and glided from Kaede to lock with Shuichi's. His golden eyes piercing, and though he couldn't see due to the black zippered mask on his face he could imagine a smirk to go along with it. As if the detective was something to study-
He blinked his thought away, not sure exactly where they came from. Afterall, he'd hardly had a conversation with him. How could he guess if he was smiling much less what his thoughts were.
[At the same time, the idea in his head remained. And though it wasn't up and fore front it hadn't fully left him]
"With anyone? " He repeated, turning back to her.
[How.. How long were they looking at each other? Was it not really long at all? Was it in his head?]
"Yeah, for the game we're currently in," She replied, hands on her hips.
"Kehehe, no. I'd been reading, and when I wasn't I was just watching all around. This place is truly beautiful isn't it?"
The pianist in reply bit her lip, and Shuichi couldn't help feel the response was slightly... strange. Well, all people were different. Just because someone talks differently then how you expected didn't mean they were bad or anything.
"It is a nice day out, and you know who you can enjoy the day with! Shuichi," She splayed her arms out like the woman showing a prize on a quiz show. And before Shuichi could tell her anything else she raced off.
Well, she gave him no other choice. At least, despite his odd demeanor, he didn't seem cruel or crude [There were many crude people he decided against... dating]. Actually, sitting and reading a book was quite a common thing that he liked to do himself.
[He could hear Kiyo reading aloud. A text he couldn't focus on due to getting lost in his voice. Another odd, sudden, thought that he pushed back with anything else of this nature that appeared in his mind]
" I believe your friend just 'set you up' with me" The anthropologist brought a hand up to his chin, resting his palm against it.
"D-dont phrase it like that! Makes it sound so sinister..."
"Oh, really? Kehehehe..." His laugh trailed off.
Great, they were sitting awkwardly in silence. Not something you'd do just trying to meet someone, and especially not someone you were attempting to speed date.
"So, what book are you reading?" Certainly this was a good starting point.
"The Necronomicon," Or not.
"The... what?"
"Kehehe," He laughed. Oh, he was joking? With how serious he sounded he didn't even realise.
Then he turned the book around, for the title to be showcased. It read "The Necronomicon". His mind blanked, was he supposed to laugh too? Was he to question this book? Would he be offended by his shock?
"Not that I believe this book to be factual..." Oh thank- " While spirits are real, you can not just bring the dead to life. Though, it Is amusing in a way to read."
Shuichi felt like he was getting hit by a pillow only to turn around and to get a swift kick to the gut. It wasn't necessarily painful to talk to him, but he couldn't keep up with these constant surprises that blindsided him.
"Where did you find it?" That can't be too outrageous, nor have him completely confused by the answer.
"My dorm room. Monokuma, which refers to itself as headmaster, told me it was a reward. Though for what he did not specify. Curious don't you think? I've never met before yet he implies he knows me well and that I'm deserving of this for something I've done in the past. If it is a present due to my talent... Well I don't see why since my Ultimate Lab is enough."
Once again they fell into silence, though this one was more thought provoking. An intermission, so to speak, to pull the clues together and to start bouncing theories off each other.
"Maybe, it's not that we've been here before but that they've tracked us? After all, I walked past Kaede's Ultimate Lab and it was completely customized to her. And they took us from various places..." Shuichi said, already feeling ridiculous. This probably wasn't what the guy was aiming for, to make actual theories. They were just here for a simple conversation and now he was making him ponder their odd (and slightly horrifying) situation.
"They did kidnap us all for a purpose, and made sure we are Ultimates... They did mention this was like a reality show? Perhaps us being Ultimates, and teenagers, is supposed to draw in the viewers. Make them believe this is something extraordinarily ordinary. Ridiculous really, romance is romance and human romance has beauty in all forms. Whether it be the start of one, the end, or even the middle it holds a plethora of emotions; romance is celebrated in all cultures in some way, whether it be marriage or otherwise. Did you know about the Celtic wedding tradition that later was adopted into Christian ones? You see, they used to throw rice at the newlyweds. It is still done today, albeit rarely due to it affecting birds. The rice was to symbolize growth, expansion really, of the family. So... beautiful. Food has always been so precious but love triumphs that."
The anthropologist rambled on, and he couldn't help but feel enraptured by each word. It was fascinating, and to hear someone he first thought wasn't talkative at all... well it lifted a weight off his shoulder that he would have to lead the conversation.
"You seem to know a lot about romance. Do you read romance novels?"
"Know a lot... ah, you have misunderstood. This is simply what I've gathered from careful observation and analysis. Not from novels, though, if from any books they'd be nonfiction. Those are my prefered choices after all," he looked at the book he'd brought with "And I'd hardly call this a usual book for me... do you like to read, Saihara?"
"Oh yeah, I read from a lot of different genres. Though, as cheesy as this sounds I prefer detective novels. If it's a good one I like to try and put the clues together before the protagonist can,"
"Very cliche as you put it. But what is expected of a detective, you must constantly be prepared,"
"I'd really hardly call myself a detective, I just enjoy puzzle solving. For example, I couldn't solve a murder case in real life or anything but a book I could... I only solved one missing persons case, it was originally my Uncle's and..." Shuichi could already feel a wave of shame and guilt come over him; he didn't deserve this "Ultimate" he was just a glorified puzzle-solver. He ruined someone's life and now he was living in a dream-like world where his only goal was to find love.
"There is nothing wrong with preferring puzzles, nor nothing wrong with only solving one case. You have a talent, and if that is evident in the academy then it doesn't matter what you've done and rather what you will do,".
Shuichi wasn't sure he wanted to do much of anything more with being a detective but... well he appreciated the kindness in the other's words.
"... Observation," Korekiyo stated, as if it made sense on its own.
"Huh?"
"You would make a good anthropologist, or at least it may interest you slightly. It is all about observing, and to solve something you must do some observation," Though his eyes were looking at him, they seemed not to see him. As if looking beyond him "Would you be opposed to being taught about the subject?"
He froze at the question. That was... quite a sudden leap? Although, looking at his fellow classmate, it was as if that is what had been on his mind the whole time. He didn't have anything against learning, knowledge was something he always enjoyed, yet he felt something stop him from immediately saying yes.
Why did his hands suddenly feel so sweaty, and why did his mind buzz with sudden anxiety? He would never deny that social situations were not his strong suit, but something like this hadn't happened before.
Swallowing his fear (and the dryness in his throat), he responded.

"Well, you are an expert on the subject! I think learning more on it could be interesting, especially if-"
"Excellent!" Korekiyo blurt out, and for the first time Shuichi saw his emotions shine. It was a sudden burst of energy, one he quickly composed himself to cover up "...this evening, after meal-time, meet me in the library. Preferably around seven and no later than nine. The books will, hopefully, be more informational than the one in my room. I will see you later, Saihara. Be prepared for your eyes to be opened upon seeing the beauty of humanity."
Without another word, or a response, the anthropologist left him.
He certainly got himself into a commitment...
*
It was lunch, and Kaede proposed they sit together.
"Do you wanna sit with Kirumi? Oh, unless your, uhh, date didn't go well?" Shuichi asked, the bouncy girl shook her head.
“We were fine! But she's serving everyone food, and I wanted to sit with you. Y'know," She gave a wink and a smile "I was wondering how you and Korekiyo hit it off."
"You make it sound so... official," His face reddened and she laughed "I think it went well? We're going to meet in the library at seven," He explained, trying to pull at a hat that wasn't there.
[He couldn't remember ever taking it off... but he also remembers it being in his room...]
"Oh? Really? That's so exciting! See, a date!"
"Well, we all are going on dates... that's the point of this all," He mumbled out.
"But he wants to talk to you more, that's promising! Unless..." her voice trailed off "Do you like him Shuichi? If not then obviously you don't have to-"
"I-its nothing like that!" He cut her off, immediately feeling regret doing so "It's... I'm not sure what to think of him? I've only known him for a few hours. He seems nice, but what if...what if he's just a friend type?"
"Well, I guess you'll have to find out!" She gave her companion a pat on the back. "Don't stress too much, this situation may be strange but it isn't the worst. Keep your head up high, and get to know some people. Even if you are nothing more than platonic, it will be worth meeting him, right?"
"... You're right! Thanks Kaede."
"No problem! Now let's get something to eat!"
*
"Perfect timing, Saihara," He stepped into the library, the smell of mold already hitting his nose. It was a dirty,dingy place, it couldn't even be argued that it was old in the "cute aesthetic way". His eyes scanned, seeing the piles upon piles of books that were stacked not only on the shelves but the floor.
Korekiyo was sitting in the corner, a small table and a pile of books beside him.
He wondered, silently, if the stuffiness of the area even bothered him slightly.
" How many books is that?" Shuichi sat down across from his, drumming his fingers on the table.
"Hm, just twelve. But they are merely for reference or in case you want to study a topic further. I prefer explaining things myself," His golden irises didn't even seem to dim in the dingy room, as if they were glowing "But where to start?"
He felt more in a college lecture, than on a date. If lectures were between two people, that is. Maybe more of a study group... well it certainly didn't feel romantic. Somehow, that eased his worries. This was to get to know each other, he didn't have to prepare himself for hand holding nor kisses right away.
" Well, I know that anthropology is the study of people, but how about you give me your definition?" This would certainly get him talking.
"Hm, that certainly is a good place to start. Anthropology studies the thoughts behind traditions and customs. It delves into the topic of folklore, and the way differnt tales from all over have similarities. Or even how the same story has differences. It is all based on how people interrupt as well as putting one's own feelings into the tales. It's not just with folklore, though certain anthropologists only study folklore, you would be able to do the same with customs. Anthropology is a truly human study through and through, so your definition isn't wrong just lacking in the specific details, " One would find it hard to read someone's expression when half thier face was covered, But where he lacked his hands flowed in joy. It wasn't overtly distracting, otherwise his point would be null and void, instead in tune with how he spoke. " Anthropology is everywhere, and is constantly changing, which is why my studies will never be fully done. It is why I must observe and research continuously- It may be hard to some but it is merely routine for me."
Hearing him talk about something so passionately piqued his interest. He'd never thought of anthropology as a topic of interest besides mild, but if Kiyo was leading the discussion he sure he wouldn't mind.
The conversation continued to flow; with Kiyo's long rambles and Shuichi asking questions which would either continue the topic in more detail or the conversation to move to a different part of the vast subject.
"Shuichi, have you ever traveled before?"
"Traveled? What do you mean?" That came out of virtually nowhere; though he was discussing field work in different countries, he hadn't suspected being asked himself.
"Taken trips, whether they be on your own or with others. Or, do you tend to stay in one place?" Shuichi was about to explain before a noise cut off his sentence.
"Ding, Dong, Bing, Bong," An almost chilling chime played on the speakers.
[All he could remember was blood splattered on the shelfs, and pooled on the library floor. The victim lay- Wait, what? He wasn't a homicide detective...]
"It is 10 pm, officially nighttime," Monokuma's announcement rang through, the Monkubs chiming in once and a while to add on with little remarks.
"Hm, I suppose we should leave and retire for the night... we shall resume tomorrow, at the same time? "
Tomorrow as well? Well, he could hardly refuse, and he was still curious about the topic.
"That sounds good; well I'll see you then, it was really interesting talking about anthropology with you," He gave a smile, and the other looked pleased.
They went their separate ways, and Shuichi was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the "date". Whether he'd become friends... or... either way he could see his relationship growing positively.

city of love
hello friends! happy wednesday! this is a request fill for NoaAvrahami6 on Wattpad, who requested the art freaks going on a long vacation/ road trip, and there's a scene to fill a request from aster-alpine on Wattpad (@deadbreadrunning here) who requested them swimming with dolphins :)
also, quick note, I have done absolutely nothing they do in this story, so I apologize for any inaccuracies. I have definitely learned the lesson that is 'write what you know'. I did as much research as my brain could handle and now I know more than I ever wanted to about the Venus de milo.
quick tw for panic attacks, but otherwise, enjoy.

Janis is scheming.
Cady is a week away from completing her PhD in mathematics. All she has left to do is defend her dissertation and publish her work, and then she’ll find out if the last four years of work have been worth it. She deserves presents.
Janis has two ideas. The first, is a dog. They have a cat, which Cady had agreed to adopting as a get-well present when Janis had broken her arm several years ago. Elvira is well-loved and very spoiled, but Cady has been begging for a dog. No time like the present. Janis found a reliable rescue breeder who recently had a litter of golden retriever puppies, and would be taking Cady to pick one soon.
Her second idea is a trip. Cady loves to travel, but has been so busy for the last several years that they haven’t gotten an opportunity to go any further than their trips back home to Illinois since their honeymoon in Kenya. Janis has family on her father’s side in France, that she also hasn’t been able to see in several years.
So, she’s booking a flight, also deciding to let Damian come as a surprise. He had recently landed the lead role in a revival of Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway, so he deserves a present too. He doesn’t start rehearsals for another few months, which gives Janis the perfect window of opportunity.
She finds a flight with a few seats available for the evening Cady will (hopefully) receive her degree; a miraculously non-stop flight to Marseille, where her family lives. Janis figures they’ll stop there for a few days, and then travel to Paris to see some of the more iconic sights.
Janis books the tickets, figuring it’ll either be a happy surprise or a consolation trip, and knowing it’s very likely to be the former. She clears her browser history after, in case Cady gets an urge to snoop. Then, she figures she should probably let Damian know to prepare for an international trip in a week.

“Hey, Peanut, how was your day?” Janis asks gently. Cady lets her exhausted glare answer. “That good, huh? Do you want snuggles?” Cady nods, but signs that she wants to take a shower first. Her day must have been rough if she won’t speak. “Of course, baby, go ahead. I’ll wait for you in the bedroom.”
Cady signs a thank you in return, pecking her gently in greeting and scratching Elvira before heading into the bathroom. Janis decides to go the extra mile today and lights a nice candle in the bedroom, and pulls out a book to read to her. Cady loves the sound of Janis’ voice, so whenever her day has been especially tough they have story time, squeezing in as much of Janis’ voice and good snuggles as they can.
Cady doesn’t return until nearly 45 minutes later, in a set of Janis’ pajamas and with her hair neatly braided over her shoulder. Janis reaches for her, pulling her into a tight cuddle and squeezing gently in case she’s also having a sensory overload.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” She murmurs softly, scratching Cady’s scalp gently in the way that always makes her practically melt in Janis’ lap.
Cady sighs, burying her face in Janis’ chest further. “Just... a lot, today. I have a lot to do, and a lot is riding on this week. I’m gonna be stressed until Friday. And maybe after that, if I don’t make it.”
“You’re gonna make it, baby. You’re a genius, you did two degrees in the time most people do one. And you’ve been working so hard and carefully, I know you’re going to do it. And if you don’t, everybody at that school is catching these hands,” Janis replies.
Cady chuckles at that, finally poking her face out. She grunts slightly as Elvira suddenly jumps onto her back, joining their cuddle puddle happily. “Thanks, Bluejay. You’re... you’ve been the best partner I could’ve asked for, through all of this. I wouldn’t have even made it this far without you.”
“Yes, you would have,” Janis says. “But I’m glad I could be here for you. I love you.”
Cady inches her way up to Janis’ face so as not to disturb the cat snoozing on her back, but makes it and leans in for a kiss. “I love you too. Are you gonna read to me?”
“Yeah, if you want,” Janis replies. “Figured it might cheer you up a bit.”
Cady nods happily, cuddling into her and resting her head on her shoulder. She’s sound asleep before Janis even reaches the third chapter, so Janis sets an alarm and joins her in an impromptu nap.
————-
Cady barely speaks for the next few days, frantically studying, rehearsing, and proofreading everything. Janis is worried, but knows there’s not a lot she can do. She stays out of her way and brings her caffeinated teas and snacks from time to time.
The day before D-Day, Janis makes waffles for dinner, Cady’s favorite. Cady is still at the desk in their bedroom, where she’s been for nearly six days straight.
“Hey,” Janis says gently as she comes to drop off her plate. She usually eats her own dinner on the bed, spending time with Cady as she studies. But this time, Cady snatches her wrist once she sets the plate down and won’t let her leave. “You okay?”
Cady hasn’t looked at her yet, but doesn’t let go of her arm. She just stares at her massive book, clutching Janis’ wrist like a lifeline, like it’s the only thing holding her to Earth. Suddenly, she lets out a choked sob.
“Baby, hey,” Janis says softly. “What’s the matter?”
“I can’t do this, Janis,” Cady cries desperately. “I-I dont-I can’t-“
“Hey, shh,” Janis hushes. “Come here, get away from this for now.” She picks Cady up from her chair and carries her to the bed, letting Cady lock tight around her and sob into her shoulder. “What’s going on?”
“I can’t do it,” Cady wails. “It’s not good enough, and I’m- and I’m out of time, I can’t- I can’t do it!” She suddenly starts crying much harder, and is practically gasping for breath in between sobs.
“Baby, hey, look at me,” Janis insists, cupping her cheeks to look into her eyes. They’re wide and frantic, she looks terrified. She’s having an anxiety attack. Janis quickly tries to remember what she does for her own. The countdown strategy pops into her head, and she decides it’s worth a try. “Focus on me, okay? Tell me five things you can see.”
Cady chokes another sob and clings to her desperately, but manages to splutter out a reply. “Um-um... you-your face, and um-and... um... cat, and... the-and your p-painting, and the cl-the clock, and your tattoos.”
“Good, Butterfly,” Janis says gently. She holds Cady’s face again gently when she tries to look back to the desk. “No, hey, don’t look over there. Tell me four things you can hear.”
“There’s a-there’s a siren, outside,” Cady sobs. “And... and a bird, and... um... you talk-talking, and the-the cat. Chat-chattering.”
“You’re doing good, angel, breathe,” Janis says. “Three things you can feel.”
“Hold-holding me, you-you holding m-me,” Cady chokes. “And the-the bed. ‘S soft. And-and your hair. Tickles.”
“Another breath, baby. Two things you can smell,” Janis coaxes gently.
“Dinner,” Cady whimpers. “And you-your shampoo. Apples.”
“Almost done, baby, what’s something you can taste?” Janis asks, holding her tighter.
“Tea. From earlier,” Cady sniffles.
“Good job, Butterfly. Are you feeling any better?” Janis asks quietly, laying them down and squishing Cady on top of her. Cady nods slightly against her shoulder.
“A little,” she says quietly. She’s still crying, but sounds much less frantic. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry, angel, you have nothing to be sorry for,” Janis says as she kisses her forehead. “Can you tell me what’s happening now?”
Cady takes a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts. “I’m scared. I’ve had years to get this right, get it perfect. It’s not. I don’t... I’m scared to defend it, what if I mess up, or... stutter or stim too much and I don’t pass?”
“If you don’t pass for stuttering or stimming during your speech then everyone grading you is fucking ableist and I will fight all of them,” Janis growls protectively. “But we can figure something out later if it worries you. And I’m positive your dissertation and thesis are wonderful. You’ve been working so hard, non-stop, for years. It may not be perfect, but if you’ve been doing anything but your best work all these years I’ll be stunned. You’re going to pass, and you’ll be Doctor Heron, and then I have a surprise for you to celebrate.”
“A surprise?” Cady asks quietly with a sniffle. “What did you get?”
“It’s a surprise, Peanut,” Janis chuckles. “You’ll find out tomorrow. But I think you’ll like it.”
“Okay,” Cady says so sadly that Janis wants to spoil everything now. But she manages to resist, knowing her reaction tomorrow will be better. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, baby. Eat with me, you need a break,” Janis says as she grabs Cady’s plate from the desk. “Bed picnic.”
Cady reaches for her just barely warm waffles. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Janis says as she leans over for a kiss.
“Can I try to guess what you got?” Cady asks with a bit more energy.
“Sure,” Janis chuckles. “But even if you guess it I’m not gonna tell you.”
Cady groans. “I wanna knoooooow.”
“And you will know tomorrow,” Janis giggles. “Guess away, Butterfly.”
“A puppy?” Cady asks.
Yes, Janis thinks. “No.” She says.
Cady pouts. “Um... did you paint me something?”
“Nope,” Janis chuckles as she takes another bite of her waffles.
“Hm... a... can you give me a hint?” Cady pleads. Janis tries her hardest to resist the puppy eyes.
“Fine, one hint,” Janis groans. The puppy eyes still haven’t lost their magic. “Think bigger.”
“Bigger... um... two puppies?”
“No,” Janis laughs. “Just eat. You’ll find out in less than a day, you can live with not knowing for that long.”
“Fine,” Cady grumbles. She finishes her waffles quietly and cuddles back into Janis. “Can you stay? I need to proofread it again but I don’t want to be alone.”
“Sure, Kitkat. Let me wash the dishes and I’ll be right back,” Janis replies. She rushes through scrubbing their plates and everything clean, then grabs her easel and joins Cady in the bedroom. She paints away while Cady reads, both of them working in comfortable silence. Janis has always loved these moments, where the silence doesn’t need to be filled, and they’re both content to just be with each other.
Cady finishes several hours later, closing her book with a deep sigh. “Jay?”
“Mm?” Janis hums in reply.
“You said we could figure something out. To stop me stimming,” Cady says as she turns to face her.
“I never said I’d stop you stimming,” Janis says, stepping around her easel. “I just meant that we’d find a way to make it less obvious, if you’re so worried about it.”
“Oh.”
Janis reaches for her. “Why are you so worried about it?”
Cady comes to nuzzle into her embrace quietly. “I dunno. It’s... it can be embarrassing, sometimes. I’ve done all this stuff, I’m hopefully about to get my PhD, but I still have to... curl my toes a certain way or flick my hands or fold myself up like a pretzel to get my brain to work like everyone else’s. And people stare, you can tell they think I’m childish.”
Janis hums sadly. “I get it, but it shouldn’t be something to be ashamed of. It doesn’t make you any less professional, or brilliant, it just helps you regulate, right?” Cady nods against her chest. “Yeah. You have all this knowledge in your brain now, it makes sense it needs a little wiggle to help kick it in gear and sort it all out.”
Cady chuckles. “Thanks, Jayjay.”
“And it feels good, remember when I tried all your favorites?” Janis says. “Satisfying.”
“Oh, yeah, it feels so good,” Cady laughs. “But what plan do you have?”
“Pick what you’re gonna wear tomorrow and make sure it has pockets,” Janis replies. “Big ones.”
“Where are you going?” Cady calls as she roots through her closet.
“Nowhere, hang on!” Janis calls back from the living room. She comes back with a necklace, a small cube, and a few other small stim toys she had ordered. Cady looks at them curiously as she pulls out a formal blue jumpsuit and blazer from the closet.
“What are those?” She asks as she rests it on their bed.
“Stim stuff. I made this one,” Janis says as she holds up the cube. “Julie sent me some of her old Legos, and then there’s a spring inside so it’s a little button. And it doesn’t make any noise or anything.”
Cady takes it curiously, pushing the button in the center a few times. “You made this? For me?”
“Yeah, of course. I made this too,” Janis says as she hands over the necklace. “I ordered the charm, it’s a chewy one, and then put the beads on so it’s not, like, obvious it’s a chewy necklace. I figured you could have it on if you wanted, it might help.”
Cady takes the necklace too, gnawing on the charm gently to test it out. Janis thought ahead, the chain is one she can handle. “Thank you, mpenzi.”
“And then I bought these. You can have them in your pocket and use them there, nobody would know if you didn’t want them to. They’d just think you were holding your hands in your pockets,” Janis says rapidly. “Oh, and you can borrow some of my shoes so you have room to move your feet inside, that won’t be noticeable either.”
Cady throws herself at Janis, knocking her backwards onto the bed and kissing her hard. “I love you so much. You’re perfect. Thank you.”
Janis kisses her back just as hard, tangling her hand in her hair and resting the other just above her bum. “You’re welcome, Butterfly. I love you too.”
Cady kisses her again gently, brushing their lips together a few times. “I’m sorry, by the way. I know I’ve been ignoring you this week, you don’t deserve that.”
“Babe, you’ve barely slept this week, and you only eat when I bring you food, I’m more worried about that,” Janis chuckles. “I get the rest of my life with you, wifey. I can handle a week for you to work every now and again. After tomorrow we get to spend more time together again anyway.”
Cady smiles at her. “We’ll do something special. I’m gonna shower, but I wanna cuddle you all night tonight. You’re right, I need more sleep anyway.”
“Okay, Kitkat. Have fun,” Janis says as she pushes her wife towards the en-suite. “I’ll be here.”
-
Janis remembers she forgot to feed Elvira her own dinner when she comes to plop onto her lap.
“Sorry, Ellie, I forgot to feed you,” Janis chuckles as she scratches her ear. “Let’s go.”
Elvira trots off to the kitchen, Janis following quickly behind her. Ellie meows at her when they finally reach the fridge, stretching up to peek in as Janis opens it.
“Hold on, you get a new can tonight,” Janis says in response to Elvira’s questioning chirp. She heads to the closet to grab one, noticing the air mattress on the top shelf they had bought for a camping trip. “Hm.”
Janis scoops out some of her food into her bowl and puts the can in the fridge, then grabs the air mattress from the shelf along with the pump for it.
“God, why is this thing so loud? Some of us have mattresses to blow up in secret,” Janis hisses. Once it’s done, she realizes she probably should have done it outside as she tries to shove it through the door. She grabs some sheets from the closet and the blankets from their bed, making a lovely little nest on their balcony.
Cady comes out of the shower as she’s fluffing the pillows, calling for her as she brushes her hair out.
“Jay? Are you okay? I heard noises,” she says as she comes out wrapped in her bathrobe. “What happened to our bed?”
“I’m fine, put on something warm and come here,” Janis calls from the other room.
“Okay,” Cady says nervously. “What are you up to?”
“God, you set a bunch of chickens loose in a school one time and suddenly you can’t surprise anyone anymore,” Janis jokes. “Just come here, you’re gonna like it.”
“I like your surprises, but you can be a little extra sometimes,” Cady teases. “Oh my god.”
“You like it?” Janis says. “We haven’t been able to do this for a whi-ack!” She grunts slightly as Cady leaps into her embrace, smooching all over her face.
“I love it, and I love you,” Cady says. “So much.”
“I love you more,” Janis teases as she carries her outside.
“No, I love you more,” Cady responds as she’s laid down gently. “I love you most.”
“Mm, you can’t win this fight, Peanut,” Janis hums, getting cut off as Cady pulls her down to kiss her hungrily.
“Then let me show you.”
————-
The next morning, Janis wakes up with Cady (very early) and makes a special breakfast with lots of fruit and protein. Cady eats happily but silently, once again giving a last proofread of all her materials.
Janis gives her a big hug and sweet kiss before she sends her out the door, Cady dressed in her fancy outfit, Janis’ shoes, and with her pockets full of stim toys.
Janis has to pack quickly once she’s gone, carefully but hastily packing their suitcase and carry on bags based on a list she’s incredibly thankful she had the foresight to make.
-
In the late afternoon, Janis picks Damian up in their Uber to Cady’s school to surprise her. He puts his suitcase in the trunk along with what looks to be a poster.
He shakes with excitement as he climbs in next to her, and they both chat excitedly about their plans for France. Before they know it, they’re at Cady’s university and ready to surprise her.
“Aww, you made her a sign?” Janis asks as she finally hugs him.
“Yeah, duh,” Damian says, showing off his ‘Congrats Doctor Heron!’ poster. “And it’s reversible in case of disaster.” He flips it around and shows it says ‘Good job anyway!’ on the other side.
“She’ll love it,” Janis says as she starts bouncing anxiously. “She’ll be happy to see you, too, she doesn’t even know we’re here.”
“Aww. I’m excited to see her reaction, do you remember when you threw that picnic before we graduated high school? That was nothing compared to this and she was so fucking excited,” Damian says.
“Yeah. She’s so cute,” Janis says. Her phone starts ringing suddenly. “Oh, it’s her, this is it.”
Damian squeals as she picks up and switches to speakerphone.
“Jay, I did it!” Cady calls loudly through the speakers. “I did it! I got it, I’m a doctor!”
Janis and Damian both start jumping up at down at the same time. “Congratulations, baby! I’m so proud of you!” Janis says. Damian stays quiet but is visibly trying to hold back his own comments. They see her come bursting out the doors then, running down the steps. “Hey, look to your right. No, other right.”
Cady looks to see her wife and best friend waiting for her and bouncing to get her attention. She runs towards them, laughing happily. “What are you doing here?! Oh my god, you made a sign and everything!”
“This is your surprise!” Janis laughs as her wife jumps into her arms. She spins her around a few times before Cady reaches out for Damian, so he pulls her into another tight hug to congratulate her.
“My best friend is a doctor!” Damian calls loudly as he also spins her around before wrapping her up protectively.
“Why do you guys have suitcases?” Cady asks confusedly, slightly muffled as her face is squished against Damian.
“Because we’re going on a trip!” Janis answers. “I told you to think bigger yesterday, this is it! Our flight is in a few hours, we have to go to the airport.”
“A trip?” Cady squeals happily. “Where are we going?!”
“France,” Janis tries to answer, barely getting the word out before she’s cut off by the most adorable squeal she’s ever heard and her wife leaping into her arms again. “Are you excited?”
“Yes! Of course I’m excited, oh my god!” Cady shrieks. “This is the best day ever!”
“Good! I packed a comfy outfit in your carry on, you can change at the airport,” Janis laughs happily as Cady kisses her over and over.
“Okay, come on! Let’s go, let’s go let’s go! I wanna go to France!” Cady calls, lugging them both towards the parking lot.
Janis and Damian both laugh as they’re dragged away. “Peanut, slow down, we have time.”
“Oh. Oops,” Cady says sheepishly. “But come on, I’m excited, let’s go!”
“We can tell, Cads, just slow down,” Damian pants. “Be excited at a reasonable speed.”
Cady’s bouncing now that they’ve stopped walking, having to get her excitement out somehow. “Janis, carry me, I can’t slow down.”
“Okay, come here,” Janis laughs, carrying Cady piggyback to their next Uber.
————-
Cady heads into the bathroom once they’ve passed security to change out of her formal outfit, but she leaves the necklace on and has the stim toy Janis made for her in her hand. She’s trying to gently stuff her poster in her bag as she walks back. She insisted on keeping it, even though Damian said she didn’t have to. Miraculously, she manages to make it fit without too much damage.
She tugs her carry on backpack back on as she approaches Janis and Damian again. “Where are we going in France?” She asks once they’re back together. Damian also looks at Janis curiously, she hasn’t told him either.
“Marseille, first. My family said we can stay with them for a few days, they have a huge house with tons of rooms. Then we’ll go to Paris and look around there,” Janis says. Cady gives yet another excited squeal and hugs her again. “Do you want Cinnabon’s? They’re right over there.”
“Oh, can we? I haven’t eaten since breakfast, I’m starving,” Cady says. She’s still bouncing and her hands are flapping happily, but she’s calmed down just a touch.
“How-wha-how do you have that much energy on just breakfast?” Damian asks with something akin to awe.
“I’m excited!” Cady almost yells, prompting several glares from those around them. She shrinks into herself slightly in embarrassment. “Oops.”
Damian chuckles. “Let’s go, my treat.” Cady perks up a bit and tugs her wife after them. She happily scarfs down her cinnamon roll and chatters excitedly about France.
They head to their gate to wait for their flight for a while, when Cady suddenly realizes something and scrambles for her phone. “I forgot to tell my parents! What time is it?”
“Almost exactly six,” Janis says. “So five for them.”
“Okay, they should both be home by now,” Cady says with relief. She dials her dad’s number, and he picks up on the first ring. “Hi Dad! Is Mom with you?”
“Hi Cady, she’s in the other room. What’s up?” Her dad replies.
“Get Mom, I wanna tell you together,” Cady insists.
“Okay,” her dad says, slightly confused. “Honey, it’s Cady, she says she has something to tell us.”
“Hello Cady,” her mom calls loudly through the speaker. “How are you, dear?”
“I’m good Mom! How are you?” Cady chuckles. For tech savvy people, they never quite got the hang of speakerphone.
“Good, hon. What’s this news you have?” Her mom replies.
“I got my PhD today! I’m officially a doctor!” Cady says, and quickly has to block the phone speaker with her arm to muffle the volume of their cheers and congratulations. Once it stops vibrating quite so much, she pulls it back to continue talking. “Thanks! Oh, and I won’t be able to call you for a little while. Janis surprised me with a trip to France, we’re going to see her family. And Paris.”
“Oh, that sounds lovely,” her mom sighs. “Take lots of photos for us.”
“I will. I love you guys, bye!” Cady calls, and hangs up before either of them can get off on a tangent and keep her there for an hour. “There.”
“Everything handled?” Damian jokes.
“Yep. Oh, that reminds me, Janis, can you... give me a rundown of your family again? I haven’t quite gotten everyone down,” Cady says shyly. To be fair, Janis has a lot of relatives and their names sound quite similar in a lot of cases.
“Yeah,” Janis chuckles. She knows Damian probably needs a refresher too, the last time he got to come visit everyone was in high school. “My homophobic great-grandma finally died when I was in college so we don’t have to worry about her anymore.”
“Jay! Be nice,” Cady scolds. She’d heard bad stories about the woman, but speaking ill of the dead still doesn’t sit right with her.
“I’m just saying. Anyway, Nana Annette is her daughter, my grandma. She’s, like, eighty-five, but she’s chill. She might say some offensive stuff because she’s either senile or just old, but she means well most of the time. Her husband died when I was a baby, I barely remember him, so hopefully he won’t be around. Then there’s the aunts and uncles.”
Cady pulls out her phone to take notes, this is where things get dicey.
“Jean-Luc is the oldest, he’s the funny one. His wife is Béatrice, she’s... tense, but nice. The next one is Charlotte, she’s the single one who I’m convinced is a closet lesbian, you remember? She’s hella rich and just shows up sometimes with presents. Anyway. Next is Gabrielle, and her husband Charles, he’s the English guy. My dad was next, then Phillipe is the youngest, and his wife is Jeanne.”
Cady blinks, already terrified. “And your cousins?”
“They’ll understand if you don’t remember them all, don’t worry,” Janis chuckles. “Jean-Luc and Béatrice have Josephine and Jacques, they’re twins. Then they had Annalise, and then Luca, they named him after my dad. Gabrielle and Charles have Bella, Celeste, and Clara, Celeste is a bitch but the other two are nice. Jeanne and Phillipe have Emile and Sylvie.”
“Jesus Christ,” Cady groans, trying to keep everyone under wraps.
“Some of my cousins have babies too now, do you want their names?” Janis teases. “Don’t worry about it, guys. They’ll understand and I’ll make sure you learn everyone’s names. And we probably won’t see all of them, either.”
“Oh, babies? Yay,” Cady says. “I might as well learn them too.”
“Yeah, there’s a few that are still actual babies. Josephine and her husband just had Hugo a few months ago, and then she has Anabelle and Charlise, they’re like... four,” Janis says. “And then Bella has Benjamin, he’s a year old or so.”
“Aww. Okay. I’ll have to study on the plane,” Cady says, sending her list to Damian and shutting her phone off.
“Little Slice, no, I’ll study for us and fill you in,” Damian says. “You’ve studied too much in your life. Doctor.”
Cady smiles at the reminder of her new title. “Fine. Oh, is that us?”
Janis listens to the voice ringing out over the PA system. “Yeah. They’re not boarding us quite yet, but we should be ready.”
“Oh, yay!” Cady says happily.
—————
Once they finally board, Cady begs to have the window seat. Janis and Damian are both afraid of heights and let her have it willingly.
Cady wiggles happily as the light comes on to fasten their belts, looking happily out the window as they prepare to take off. Janis pops some gum in her mouth, and offers a piece to both her travel buddies. Cady takes hers and then takes Janis’ hand, squeezing it to comfort her. Janis squeezes back thankfully.
Cady offers her one ear of the headphones she has so they can watch a movie together. Janis takes it and rests her head on Cady’s shoulder, flipping up the arm rest and cuddling into her wife. Damian flips up his own and lies down over both of them, his head ending up in Cady’s lap as he does his own thing on his phone. Cady just laughs and plays with his curly hair.
After three movies, Cady falls asleep with her head on Janis’ shoulder. They’re about four and a half hours into their seven hour flight, and it is now around Cady’s bedtime. Janis finds Damian also asleep on their legs, and decides to let him stay even though hers are going a bit numb.
She turns her head slightly to kiss Cady’s hair, thinking about the events of the day. Twenty-four hours ago she had fallen asleep on an air mattress on their balcony after a wild night, held securely in the arms of her favorite redhead. Now, she’s several thousand feet in the air, cuddled up with two of her favorite people on their way to another country. Life is a hell of a thing.
—————
Janis is startled awake by the announcement that they’re about to land, and wakes Damian and Cady so they can fasten their seatbelts again. It’s about two in the morning according to their body clocks, so they all blink groggily and rub at their eyes.
“Janis?” Cady asks suddenly as they start to descend.
“Hmm?” Janis hums exhaustedly.
“Who’s watching Elvira?”
“Aaron,” Janis yawns. “He just wants chocolate as payment.”
“Mmkay,” Cady hums. The plane finally touches down and she gives an exhausted “Yay.”
Janis chuckles. “Come on, my cousin is picking us up and then we can sleep in a real bed for a while.”
“Which one?” Damian yawns.
“Annalise,” Janis replies. “She’s a morning person, she’s the only one they trusted to come get us.”
They trudge through baggage claim and out of the airport, down a long line of cars waiting to pick people up. Suddenly, a clear “Janis!” rings out with a brisk French accent.
Janis greets her cousin, who laughs at their exhausted faces. “Bonjour, Anna.”
They have a quick catch up in French as they load all their bags into the car, and Damian’s eyes suddenly go wide.
“What happened?” Cady asks in concern.
“Nothing,” Damian says hastily. “I... forgot they’d actually speak, like, French here. I thought I was just too tired to understand them for a second.”
They both laugh as they climb in, Cady squished in the middle since she’s the smallest. She’s not complaining, this way her head will land on someone’s shoulder when she inevitably falls asleep again.
—————
She wakes up several hours later in a soft bed in a room she doesn’t recognize, spooning Janis. She checks the adjusted time on her phone and finds it to be about one in the afternoon, which isn’t terrible. They have a few hours left in the day to get things settled.
She leans down to kiss behind Janis’ ear as lightly as she can, murmuring a quiet “J’taime tellement,” into her ear before cuddling back into her wife. Apparently she wasn’t quite gentle enough, because Janis stirs and turns to face her with a grin.
“J’taime aussi, mon papillon,” Janis hums as she leans in for a kiss. “How did you sleep?”
“Pretty well, I don’t even remember getting here,” Cady replies.
“I carried you in, you looked exhausted,” Janis says. “What time is it?”
“Just after one,” Cady says as she strokes through Janis’ short hair. “I still love this haircut.”
“I can tell,” Janis chuckles as she cuddles in closer. “You don’t miss the blonde, though?”
“I do,” Cady hums thoughtfully. “But this length is so satisfying to play with. And your shave is in an easier place to reach now.”
Janis had continued sporting the side shave, and stretched it to an undercut at the back of her head as well when she cut the blonde off. Cady loves running her fingers over the buzzed areas, and Janis certainly doesn’t complain.
“Guess I’ll keep it like this then. Should we go get Damian?” Janis says as she leans in for another sweet kiss. “Can’t let him sleep too much longer.”
“Yeah. Are we doing anything today?” Cady asks as she follows Janis out of bed.
“I don’t really have anything planned from this point, I just figured we’d walk around and if you find something you want to do, we’ll do it. But maybe we should start tomorrow,” Janis replies. “Nana’s definitely gonna throw some family reunion type thing tonight and make a shit ton of food, we should save our energy for that.”
“Aww. That sounds fun,” Cady says. “But also tiring, you’re right.”
“They are usually pretty fun,” Janis hums. “And Charlotte is coming, she tells good stories, you’ll like those.”
“Is she the one who told that story about the time you fell into that lake and came back to a picnic totally drenched and told me to watch you around water at our wedding?” Cady asks.
“Yeah,” Janis mumbles sheepishly. “I can show you that lake, if you want. It’s nearby.”
Cady nods excitedly. “Of course. Oh, and hey, guess what?”
Janis turns from the door she’s approaching to leave their little room. “What?”
“I love you,” Cady says, pulling her down for a kiss. Janis has to fight a squeal.
“I love you too,” she replies after a second. “I’m so proud of you.”
“Thank you,” Cady whispers against her lips. “I don’t say it enough, but I’m proud of you too. I want this trip to celebrate all of us. Not just me and Damian. You deserve this too.”
“Okay,” Janis whispers back. “Thanks.”
Cady chuckles. “You promise you’ll tell me if you see something you want to do, too?”
Janis kisses her soundly one more time. “I promise.”
“Good. Let’s go get D,” Cady says with a final peck.
“Okay.”
—————
“Damian!” Janis calls as she leaps onto his bed.
“Cheese and crackers!” Damian yelps, throwing himself to the ground. “Janis!”
“Jay, I swear to god,” Cady groans from the doorway. “That is not what I meant by ‘wake him up’.”
“It worked though,” Janis says as she helps him up. “Morning!”
Damian glares at her. “Hello, Jan. Is it actually morning?”
“No, it’s almost two in the afternoon,” Cady replies. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Damian says as he brushes himself off.
“Good. Janis says there’s gonna be some sort of big dinner thing, can you help me study everyone?” Cady asks.
“Yeah,” Damian answers.
“Oh, hold on a second,” Janis says, running from the room. She returns with a framed photo of her whole family from a few years ago. “Here. It’s old, but everyone looks pretty much the same.”
Janis sits in between them and points everyone out so they can match names to faces. Cady looks a bit overwhelmed, but eventually can point everyone out.
“I’m gonna go shower, if you stay here nobody will bother you guys,” she says once her part is done. “Have fun.”
-
By the time Janis is put together enough for a family gathering, Cady and Damian know all her relatives by name and how they relate to one another. Janis is kind of touched that they both put so much effort into learning everyone in her family.
She hadn’t quite been expecting every member of her family to show up, but they all make an appearance at some point. Cady isn’t big on crowds and Damian hasn’t spoken French since high school, so they both stick around her throughout the meal.
Her aunt Charlotte shows up fashionably late as always, with gifts for the three of them. She greets Janis with a hug and hands her a set of incredibly expensive oil paints, and then looks around for Cady.
“Where is the doctor one?” She asks in fluent but heavily accented English. Cady peeks up from where she’s crowded by all of the younger cousins, coming over to say hello.
“Bonjour,” she says shyly. Charlotte greets her and hands over her gift, which looks to be a tasteful diamond bracelet. Cady frantically leans in to whisper to Janis. “I can’t take this, this had to have cost at least a thousand euro.”
Charlotte, evidently, hears her whispers and laughs. “Nonsense, Cady darling. You are smarter than anyone here, you deserve my money even more than my dear Janis. I am glad she is spoiling you.”
Cady blinks a few times, before begrudgingly accepting her beautiful gift. “Thank you, it really is beautiful.”
“But of course. Now where is darling Damian?” Charlotte responds. Damian comes over from the kitchen to say hello as well, and gets a very soft cashmere sweater.
-
Janis struggles to guide her wife and friend through a family dinner, and Cady collapses on their bed by the time they’re excused.
“Did your dad actually punch your great-aunt in the stomach?” She asks with a slight chuckle. “Just, like, no warning, full force?”
“I’ve heard that story from a minimum of five relatives, so I think it’s probably true,” Janis responds. “But he was only about five. And I think the stories explain a lot.”
“Do you miss him?” Cady asks quietly. “Your dad?”
“Yeah,” Janis says. “But I don’t think I miss him in the same way you miss your brother. Like, I wish I had gotten to know my dad, and I wish I had grown up with a decent father figure. But I didn’t really get to know him well enough to miss him as a person.”
Cady hums empathetically. “From what I’ve heard, you’re a lot like him anyway. But I wish those things too.”
“Thanks,” Janis mumbles. “I’ll take you around town tomorrow, we can see all the places from the stories.”
“Okay,” Cady grins. “J’taime.”
Janis smiles back as she cuddles into her wife. “J’taime aussi. Bonsoir.”
————-
The next morning, they both wake around eleven, starting to adjust to the time difference. Janis takes both Cady and Damian on a walk around the nearby area.
Cady laughs happily as Janis explains stories and where they happened, pointing out the shop where her mother met her father, the lake she had fallen into as a child, the tree her aunt had carved every family member’s initials into.
Cady stays behind for just a second at the shop, brushing a hand over the wall to thank it for sparking the events that gave her her beloved. She can almost feel the history inside.
For the time of year, it’s a remarkably cool day, and once they’ve stopped for a quick break Cady and Damian both ask to keep going. They go a bit farther than they had anticipated, into a larger area of the city.
Damian wanders off for a second, having spotted a sign on a building nearby. “Cads, come here, you read French better than me.”
Cady approaches, leaving Janis behind for a moment to join him. “Swim with... I don’t remember this word.”
“Dolphins,” Janis says suddenly from behind them, making them both jump.
“Swim with dolphins?” Cady asks. “Oh, that sounds fun! Can we, Jayjay? Pleeeeease please please?”
“Of course, Butterfly,” Janis says with a grin. “I’ll see what they have for tomorrow.”
“Oh, yay!” Cady squeals, hugging Janis tightly. Damian just cocks an eyebrow at them and joins the hug.
—————
Janis has to pin Cady to the bed to get her to sleep that night. But somehow by morning, their positions are reversed. Janis wakes up to her wife happily straddling her back, drumming her hands against her cheeks to wake her up.
“Caddy. What are you doing?” Janis groans sleepily.
“It’s dolphin day! I’m waking you up,” Cady responds far too brightly for eight in the morning. Janis grabs and pulls her back to cuddle.
“Go back to sleep,” Janis grumbles. “G’night.”
“Fine,” Cady chuckles. She should’ve known better, Janis never would’ve woken up this early anyway. She’s too excited to go back to sleep herself, so she rolls onto her side and watches Janis sleep. It’s rare that she’s awake when Janis isn’t, so she tries to memorize the way Janis looks while she sleeps whenever she gets the chance.
-
Janis finally stirs about two hours later, smiling as she sees her wife looking at her. She kisses her gently before she stretches. “Did you go back to sleep?”
“No,” Cady says. “I’m too excited.”
“You’re too cute,” Janis says, voice still rough with sleep. “It’s not ‘til three, babe.”
“Ugh,” Cady groans. She rolls on top of Janis again, straddling her front this time. She leans down to squish her face against Janis’ neck. Janis feels more than hears the words, “I wanna see them. Dolphins are so cute.”
Damian comes in then to get them up for breakfast. “Y’all-whoa! Okay bye.”
“Dame, come back! We’re not doing anything,” Janis calls. “I’m not that stupid.”
“I wouldn’t put it past you,” Damian grumbles. “Breakfast is ready, your grandma made crepes.”
“Ooh!” Cady squeals, flying out of bed to get ready. Janis follows quickly, pushing Damian out the door so they can get dressed.
-
Cady eats more happily this time, now that she’s not surrounded by quite so many people. But now Janis has to keep her occupied until they get to go to the dolphins.
Cady is chattering excitedly, and poor Damian still looks exhausted. Janis knows he’s excited too, dolphins are his favorite animal, but he’s very much not a morning person. Janis isn’t quite awake herself. Time for some drastic measures.
“Peanut, do you want to look at some old pictures? I know Nana has some around here somewhere,” she says, griping internally.
“Like baby pictures?” Cady says excitedly. “Lemme at ‘em.”
“Stay here. I’ll be back,” Janis grumbles. She returns a few minutes later with a photo album. “This is from just before we moved to America, I think.”
Cady makes grabby hands for the book and flips excitedly to the first page. Damian perks up a little and sits on her other side. Cady coos when baby Janis makes an appearance.
“Your little cheeks! Oh my god,” Cady squeals.
“Have you not seen any old pictures of Janis before?” Damian asks in confusion.
“Not this little, the only ones she’s let me see are from five and up,” Cady says as she turns to the next page. This one features baby Janis chewing on one of her feet. “Oh my god, look at you.”
“I’ve seen them, Cads, I’m good,” Janis chuckles. Cady flips the page again to one of her dad holding her.
“Is this your dad?” Cady asks quietly. Janis nods with a grin.
“Yeah,” she says. Cady looks back and forth between the photo and her wife.
“You look like him,” Cady says after a moment. “Dame, look at their jawlines. And-oh, Jay, smile. See? Exactly the same.”
“Shit, yeah,” Damian says, looking back and forth. “And the... is it their noses?”
“Yes! That’s what it is,” Cady says. Janis is confused, but happy that there’s such a strong resemblance. “My god, you were so cute!”
“Were?” Janis jokes.
“Oh, shush. You’re always on my case for calling you cute,” Cady says, gently flicking her ear.
“Yeah, yeah. I need to go shower, y’all can keep looking if you want,” Janis says, gesturing to Damian behind Cady’s back to keep her busy. He nods.
—————
By the time they’re outside the dolphin place, Cady and Damian are holding hands and bouncing up and down in excitement.
“Come on, dorks, let’s see some dolphins,” Janis says as she leads them into the massive building. It spans the area of several blocks, and a vast majority of it are large tanks and pools.
A lady welcomes them at the main desk and introduces herself as Bernadette, handing over their life jackets and taking them on a short tour. Upon seeing the slight confusion on Damian’s face, she switches to English and explains how they take care of the dolphins.
Cady looks relieved when she explains that the only dolphins here are ones that wouldn’t survive in the wild, and that they do rescues to help injured ones to eventually release back into the ocean. The tanks are absolutely massive with plenty of room to swim, and the water is kept at the perfect temperature.
Finally, they’re lead outside to one of the massive pools, and Cady gives a quiet squeal when she sees the dolphins swimming around happily. Damian follows Bernadette into the water first, yelping at the cold temperature.
“Ooh, it’s cold!” Cady squeals, walking around on her tippy toes until she gets used to it. The three dolphins suddenly swim over, sort of circling around her curiously. “Oh, hello.”
Janis follows after Cady, but the dolphins won’t leave her wife to greet anyone else.
“They seem to like you,” Bernadette chuckles. She swims over to introduce them. “This is Poséidon, and Daphné, and this here is Corail.”
She gives a command and one by one, the dolphins pop up on their tails and wave to them. Cady squeals when she gets splashed as they go back down, but claps for them at their impressive trick.
Bernadette guides them over to Damian with a bit of effort, and gives another command for Corail to pop up and kiss his cheek. He gasps in surprise since the command was in French, but chuckles at the sensation. “Aww! Bonjour, Corail!”
“Is that the first girl you’ve kissed, D?” Janis jokes.
“Actually, yeah,” Damian says. “Except you.”
“Whoa whoa whoa, what?” Cady insists. “When did that happen?”
“We were like, eleven, and trying to work out if we were actually gay so we kissed one time,” Janis explains quietly. “And we agreed not to talk about it again, Damian.”
Cady is laughing so hard she’s only held up by the life jacket, forgetting to tread water to keep herself afloat. “That’s so cute. Oh, bonjour!” She says when the dolphins return to her side.
“You may pet them if you like,” Bernadette says, pretending she didn’t hear the story. “All of you can.”
Cady happily reaches out to brush a hand over their smooth backs, in awe at the sensation. “Ooh! They’re so smooth! That’s so cool. Guys, come feel them!”
Janis and Damian swim over to pet them too, and Janis yelps a little when she first makes contact. “Oh, that’s weird!”
“They’re so cute,” Damian coos. “It’s a really nice feeling.”
“Their skin regenerates almost every two hours to help maintain the texture,” Bernadette explains. “Much faster than humans, to say the least.”
“They feel like wet rubber,” Janis says. “They are cute though.”
“Many people say that, that is a good way to describe it,” Bernadette laughs. She gives another command and Poséidon pops up and kisses Janis on the cheek. Janis yelps slightly and jumps back, but swims close again when Cady reaches for her. “Oh, I should have warned you, I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine,” Janis chuckles. “Bonjour, Poséidon.”
He pops up again, seemingly waiting for something. Bernadette laughs. “He wants you to kiss him back.”
“Little man-whore,” Janis grumbles, but leans in to smooch his beak. Cady leans in on the other side too, prompting an excited chirp as he swims a happy lap around the pool.
Corail and Daphné seem jealous and also pop up for kisses from Cady, who obliges with a delighted laugh. They chirp happily and kiss Cady’s cheek in return.
“Aww, you have competition, Jay,” Cady coos.
“You’re gonna leave me for a fish?” Janis calls.
Cady gasps indignantly. “They are mammals.”
“Whatever, they live in water and don’t have legs, they’re close enough. You’re gonna leave me for a water-dwelling mammal?” Janis pouts.
“Of course not,” Cady says. “Come back, they’re sorry.”
Janis swims her way back over for a kiss from her wife. “You taste like dolphin.”
Cady laughs. “So do you, fish face. What happens now?”
“They can tow you around the pool by their fins, if you’re interested,” Bernadette offers.
“Does it hurt them?” Cady asks worriedly.
“Not at all, they actually seem to rather enjoy it,” Bernadette responds. “You only add a touch more pressure to the fin, if you don’t grab it too hard.”
“Oh. Yeah, that sounds fun!” Cady cheers. Bernadette shows them all how to gently hold the fins, each of them getting their own dolphin. Damian gets Poséidon, Cady gets Corail, and Janis gets Daphné. Once they’re all securely but carefully holding on, Bernadette gives a cue and the three of them set off. They go slower than Janis had thought they would, but she’s grateful that she’s not getting splashed or lugged underwater.
“Ooh. This is nice,” Damian says, cuddling into Poséidon a little closer. “Relaxing.”
Janis paid a fair sum for this experience, but she thinks it’s worth it for the tow. It is quite relaxing, and Cady is laughing brightly the whole way.
“That was so fun!” Cady calls when they’re done.
“I’m glad! If you would bid the dolphins a quick adieu, we can now move on to the shore activities,” Bernadette replies. She leads them out of the tank and offers them each a towel, and they return their life jackets as they dry off.
Once they’re not dripping anymore they follow Bernadette inside to a kitchen area, and are immediately confronted with the smell of fish. Damian has to tap out and waits for the girls outside. Bernadette greets and has a quick chat with her co-worker in French before grabbing a couple buckets of prepared fish and heading back out of the room.
“My apologies for the smell, but you get used to it after a while,” Bernadette says to Damian. He nods shakily and follows them back to the dolphins. They all rush up when they spy the buckets, almost begging like little dogs for a treat.
“Aww,” Cady coos. “Water puppies.”
Janis links their fingers together and leads them to the edge. Bernadette explains that she’ll have them do tricks, and then if they want to, the three of them will get to feed them the fish as a reward. Damian sits far away from the smelly buckets, opting to just watch.
Bernadette gives the first command and the three of them all hop up and wave their fins, and they wave back happily. Cady and Janis toss each of them a few of the small fish. She gives another cue and they turn away, facing lengthwise down. They pick some speed up and suddenly leap into the air, diving a couple times.
“Holy shit!” Janis yelps at the height they can get. “That’s impressive.” Cady and Janis toss them more fish.
Bernadette continues giving cues, prompting the dolphins to dance, come up for pets, shake hands, give more kisses, and even hop up next to them on the shore for a split second. Cady even gets to play fetch with Poséidon for a while with a small ball.
Once they’re down to about a quarter of the last bucket of fish, Bernadette stops giving the dolphins commands. They swim around the area contently, calming down after the exercise.
“Now, I understand you are an artist, Janis?” Bernadette asks, heading to a nearby cart.
“Um... yeah,” Janis says anxiously. “Kind of.”
“Nonsense,” Bernadette chuckles. “Your wife tells me you are very good.”
Janis looks at Cady in confusion. “Does she?”
“You are! You teach art to kids, for the love of god,” Cady says. “Just wait, this is awesome. You’re gonna love it.”
Bernadette chuckles and heads to a nearby cart of supplies, returning with several pieces of paper, brushes, and a few colors of non-toxic paint.
“Our friends here enjoy art as well, you all get to help them create their next masterpiece,” Bernadette says. Janis looks very excited. She got to paint with elephants in Kenya, so she’s excited to do art with another animal.
Bernadette places the brushes into a sort of hoop shaped thing, and instructs them to pick what colors they want for the paintings. Janis picks purple, blue, and grey; Cady picks yellow, pink, and green; and Damian picks black, pink, and orange.
The colors are squeezed into pallets, and they dip the brushes into the paint. Then, the hoop attachments are slipped gently over the beak of the dolphins, and they’re instructed to hold the canvas over the dolphins’ heads. All three wag the brushes back and forth, making bright streaks on the canvas.
The process is continued until all three colors are used up and the canvases are mostly covered, then they turn to see the beautiful works of art the creatures have made for them. It’s rather abstract, obviously, but they are very beautiful.
Unfortunately they now have to say goodbye to the dolphins. They kiss and pet each one before they have to go, waving goodbye sadly. Janis buys all of the photos taken of their experience, and also buys each of them a commemorative shirt and a stuffed dolphin from the gift shop.
Cady and Damian are both still shaking with adrenaline as they head home, chatting excitedly about their favorite parts. Once they get there, though, they start to crash. Cady’s almost totally asleep by the time they make it through the door.
Janis carries her up the stairs, Damian following closely behind them. He slugs his way to his own room, all of them deciding to take a nap before dinner. Janis has to wake Cady to get her out of her swimsuit, and Cady just tugs on Janis’ dolphin t-shirt and flops into bed, crawling under the covers and cuddling her stuffed dolphin.
Janis changes into other comfortable clothes since her shirt was stolen and crawls in after her, spooning her wife gently. She’s not quite tired enough to sleep, so she contents herself with holding her girl and remembering all the fun they had.
——————
A few days later, they head to Paris. Janis’ grandmother threw yet another dinner for them to celebrate, and insisted they come back for another visit soon. Cady promises they will, and Janis agrees.
Janis’ cousin takes them to the train station to see them off that afternoon. It’s about a six hour trip, so they’ll be at their hotel at around seven in the evening. Cady looks out the window the whole way, and Damian looks a bit green. He’s never been great with motion.
“So what do you want to see in Paris, Bluejay?” Cady asks, munching happily on the croissant she had gotten off the cart.
“The Louvre,” Janis replies instantly. “More than anything. And the Eiffel tower, I guess.”
“Oh, I would love to go to the Louvre,” Cady says happily. She’s interested in the art there, of course, but she loves seeing Janis in her element. “I’m excited to eat.”
“You’ll get plenty of opportunities,” Janis chuckles. “What about you, what do you want to see, Peanut?”
“I want to see the historical stuff. Like the Palace of Versailles and the Arc de Triomphe and stuff,” Cady replies. “Dame? You okay?”
“Mmhmm,” Damian hums. He’s looking better now that he’s eaten. “I just want to go to Disneyland.” Cady suddenly looks very excited.
“I forgot about Disneyland! That would be so fun,” she squeals. They’ve managed to get Cady caught up on Disney movies and shows, but haven’t had a chance to take her to any of the parks yet. Now they have to go.
Finally, a lady’s voice announces their stop, so they all hop up and grab their bags. Once they’re above ground again, Janis barely manages to get them a cab to their hotel. Cady gets stuck in the middle again, but keeps leaning over them so she can see out the windows.
“It’s so pretty,” she sighs happily. She spins around as they’re dropped outside their hotel, staring up at the sky. It is rather beautiful, with the city bathed in the light from the setting sun.
Janis leads them in and checks them in to their rooms. She’d booked Damian one on a different floor, for his own sake. They are in the city of love, after all. Janis plans to make full use of it.
Cady enters the room first, immediately rushing over to the window. “Jay, come here.”
Janis comes up behind her, kissing her cheek and hugging her from behind. “It’s beautiful. That’s the top of the Eiffel tower over there.”
Cady turns in her embrace. “It is beautiful. But not as beautiful as you.” She giggles as Janis blushes. “I love you so much. Thank you for bringing us here.”
“I love you too, Butterfly. I’m glad I could. What did you think of Marseille?” Janis asks, pulling Cady next to her on the large bed.
“It was beautiful,” Cady replies. “And your family is... so lovely. I loved hearing all the stories and seeing the places that are important to your family. It was wonderful.”
“Good,” Janis grins as Cady leans up to kiss her. “Should we get D and find somewhere for dinner?”
“Oh, yes! Can we walk? It’s so nice out,” Cady replies, dragging Janis up by the hand and towards the door.
“We should change first, but sure, baby,” Janis says. “Come on.” They put on fancier clothes and Janis switches their positions, running down the long hallway towards the elevator and hauling her laughing wife behind her. The doors close behind them as they both try to catch their breath. Janis brushes her hands through Cady’s curls to smooth them back down. “Have you ever had escargot?”
Cady pulls a slightly concerned face. “No. Those are snails, right?”
“Yeah. They’re not bad, though, I think you’ll like them,” Janis replies. The doors open when they reach Damian’s floor. Janis leads them to his door and knocks. “D, we’re gonna go get dinner, do you want to come?”
He answers the door already wearing the hotel robe and with a sheet mask on. “Can I have a second?”
Both girls laugh and nod. Janis sighs when the door closes again. “We’ve been here for ten minutes.”
“It’s Damian,” Cady giggles in reply. “And skincare is important.” Damian comes back fully dressed and sans mask. Cady grabs his hand as well and leads them both back to the elevator.
Janis finds a restaurant within walking distance that has very highly rated escargot. She knows Damian hasn’t had it either, and wants to know what they’ll think of it.
-
They get to the place right as dinner service is beginning, and are led over to a table.
“They’re all so close together,” Cady says, having to wiggle her way in.
“They have a lot of people to fit in,” Janis replies. “Just how it happens here.”
“I’m glad we changed. Everyone here is so fancy,” Damian mumbles.
They continue making light conversation as they wait for the food Janis ordered to arrive. Finally it arrives, and Cady and Damian look more than a little concerned.
Janis pops some of the snails out of their shells, eating one herself and offering the others to Damian and Cady. They take them, looking to each other for confidence and eating them.
“Oh!” Cady says. “Thats way better than I thought, that’s so good! Way better than snake meat.”
“I told you,” Janis laughs.
“It’s like ravioli,” Damian says as he reaches for another. “But... snails.”
“Yeah, that’s a good way to put it,” Cady giggles. “How do you get them out?” Janis shows her how to use the fork to pop them out, and Cady follows suit once she knows how.
-
Many hours later, Cady cuddles up to Janis in bed, finally ready for sleep. “How long are we here, Jay?”
“We’re in Paris for a week,” Janis replies.
“A week?!” Cady says in shock.
“I wanted to make sure we had time to see everything you both wanted to,” Janis says. “And I have another surprise when we get home. But that’s kind of for both of us.”
“Jay, you’re spoiling me,” Cady whines. “Can I know the other surprise?”
“Nope,” Janis hums. “But I’ll tell you right once we’re back in America. And you deserve to be spoiled, Peanut. You’re a doctor, you’ve worked so hard.”
Cady grins at her. “Fine. Will you tell me what we’re doing tomorrow?”
“I don’t have anything planned,” Janis says. “What do you want to do?”
“The Louvre,” Cady replies with a smile. “I want you to tell me all about everything. I won’t even need a tour guide.”
Janis smiles back, leaning down for a kiss. “Sounds like a plan.”
Cady cuddles in close, nuzzling into her chest. “I love you, darling.”
“I love you too, Butterfly. Sweet dreams,” Janis replies, holding her closer.
————-
Janis wound up being the one with trouble sleeping that night, struggling to fall asleep and waking up early. She decides to return the favor Cady pulled on the dolphin day.
Cady, as always, is asleep on her belly, so Janis rolls to straddle her back at her waist and drums on her shoulders. Cady gives a sleepy groan and pops an eye open to look at her.
“Jay.” She grumbles crankily. “Wha’ you doin’.” Janis leans down to kiss her cheek and around her ear.
“Good morniiiiiing,” she hums. “It’s Louvre day, I’m waking you up!”
Cady groans into her pillow. “Go back ‘sleep.”
“No, I’m too excited!” Janis says. “Come on, don’t you at least want breakfast?”
“Wan’ sleep more,” Cady moans. She shifts and Janis falls off her with a yelp, thudding to the ground.
“Hmph. I see how it is,” Janis grumbles. “Fine, you can sleep in, cranky pants.”
“Thank youuuu,” Cady calls into her pillow, and is snoring gently again within minutes.  Janis giggles and slides back into bed, stroking a curl away from Cady’s face and watching her sleep. She is actually too excited to go back to sleep, so she decides to make slightly better use of her time.
She heads to her carry on bag and pulls out the sketchbook and pencils she had brought along, before opening the window to sketch their view. She flips past the ones she did of Marseille to a blank page. The rooftops seem to stretch for miles, and she can just spy the top of the famous tower a ways away.
Cady groans sleepily behind her as she’s finishing shading in the skyline, rolling over onto her back and throwing her arms over her head. Janis decides she needs to work on sketching people more. She perches herself on top of the wardrobe and sketches her life, smiling lovingly at the little snuffling noises she makes every now and again.
“G’morning,” Cady groans as she finally wakes up, stretching and yawning before rubbing her eyes.
“Morning, sleepyhead,” Janis chuckles, hopping down as Cady reaches for her. “How did you sleep?”
“Good, until someone sat on me,” Cady says, glaring at Janis.
“Just returning the favor,” Janis chuckles. “Let’s go get breakfast.”
“No way. You haven’t kissed or cuddled me yet, you’re not going anywhere,” Cady demands, pulling her back.
Janis laughs and cups her face, leaning in to press their lips together. “Can that hold you over until we eat?” Cady leans in for one more sweet kiss.
“I suppose.”
—————-
Janis takes Cady and Damian to a nearby bakery for some breakfast croissants. All of them eat outside, enjoying the way the whole street seems to smell like fresh bread and baking sweets.
Cady asks to walk again, wanting to see as much of the city as she can. Surprisingly, Damian agrees, even though he’s never been one for much physical activity. The Louvre isn’t particularly close by, but Janis also agrees to a walk. Saves having to pay for a cab.
“Shit,” Janis murmurs in awe when they finally reach their destination. “It’s big.”
“It says here it’s seventy-three thousand square meters,” Cady says, holding up her phone. “So yes, it is very big.”
“Very astute observation there, Janjan,” Damian teases. “Let’s go in, come on.”
“They have tours, should we do that?” Janis asks, pointing to a sign.
“We don’t need to,” Cady says, lacing their fingers together. “We have you.”
-
Once they’re past the impossibly long line to get in, Janis instantly heads off, hauling Cady and Damian behind her. She follows the signs to the area with the Mona Lisa first, knowing there’s going to be a large crowd for them to work through to see it up close.
“Wow,” Damian says when they make it in. There is a massive crowd in front of it, but they can still just barely see. Except Cady.
“Hang on,” Cady grumbles, grabbing their hands and somehow weaseling her way through all the people until they’re at the front. “There. Short people tricks.”
“Nice, babe,” Janis says, staring in awe at the famous painting in front of her. She rattles off all the facts about it she can remember from her years of study, before they move on to look at other things.
“Oh, that’s in Animal Crossing!” Cady says happily, pointing to a painting nearby. “What is this, lovey?”
Janis laughs at her excitement over finding the real versions of something from her favorite game. “That’s called The Summer. This guy did a few like that, with the faces made out of fruit and stuff.”
“It’s... nice,” Damian says confusedly. “Why did he do that?”
“Hell if I know. Most of the people who did these paintings were probably on some drug or another,” Janis says in reply. “Neat though.”
Janis leads them from area to area, explaining and listing facts about whatever Damian or Cady point to. It works well enough for all of them. They get to see all the famous works, Janis gets to see everything she wants, and Damian and Cady get explanations and extra facts from Janis.
“Wow,” Cady says when she spies the Vénus de Milo. She breaks away from them and wanders over to get a closer look. Janis follows her and leads Damian after them, since Cady is small and easy to lose.
“That’s the Vénus de Milo,” she hums in Cady’s ear. “She’s supposed to be one of the Greek goddesses.”
“Which one?” Damian asks.
"Nobody really knows,” Janis replies. “Most people think Aphrodite. Venus was her Roman counterpart, so that’s where the name came from.”
“Her dress is falling off,” Cady mumbles distractedly, making Damian and Janis laugh. “What happened to her arms?”
“Fell off,” Janis shrugs. “There’s a lot of theories about that too. They probably were just too heavy and broke away at some point. Some people think it was a shipwreck or something, I can’t remember specifically.”
“Hm. That’s interesting,” Cady says. “Oh, her foot is gone too.”
“Yeah, she’s lost a lot of stuff over the years. She had jewelry and stuff originally,” Janis replies. “Just lost to time one way or another.”
Cady leans back against her and turns her head to kiss at Janis’ jaw. “You’re so smart. I love you, art freak.”
Janis grins. “I love you too, math nerd.”
“Okay, time to move on! Chop chop,” Damian insists, wanting to get as far away from their sappiness as he can.
—————
“That was... really fun, Bluejay,” Cady yawns once they’re finally back in their hotel room, freshly showered and ready to sleep. “I love seeing you with art.”
“I’m glad you had fun,” Janis replies as her wife spoons her. “Go to sleep, Butterfly, we have to be up early tomorrow.”
“Why?” Cady yawns again.
“I’m not gonna tell you, or you’ll never sleep,” Janis says. “It’s nothing terribly exciting, but they open early. We should be there pretty soon after it does.”
“Oh. Mmkay. G’night, love.” Cady mumbles, seeming content with Janis’ surprises for once. Janis had toned it down slightly, they were going to Disneyland Paris tomorrow. She’d talked it over with Damian, and agreed that he got to pick what they do tomorrow.
“Goodnight, Princess,” Janis says, secretly giving a little hint.
——————-
She kisses Cady awake the next morning around eight. “Good morning, Butterfly.”
“Good morning,” Cady yawns. “Where are we going today?”
“I’ll tell you in a bit,” Janis replies. “I made sure we had cuddle time today.”
“Good,” Cady replies, pulling Janis down on top of her. “How did you sleep?”
“Good, actually,” Janis replies. “I think I’ve finally actually adjusted to the time shift. How did you sleep?”
“Good,” Cady says. “Nobody sat on me to wake me up today, I much prefer kisses.”
“Noted,” Janis chuckles. “For the record, so do I.” Cady gives a chuckle that says she already knows but has chosen to ignore that information.
“When do we get breakfast?” Cady asks after a long, peaceful moment.
“On the train,” Janis replies. “My cuddles not enough for you?”
Cady flicks her nose gently. “Yes, they are, but unfortunately I can’t live on cuddles alone. The train. That means somewhere pretty far away.”
Janis checks the time, it’s been about a half hour since they woke up. They should probably get ready now. She sits up, and rolls off of Cady so she isn’t thrown to the ground again.
“Dame and I decided we’re going to Disneyland today,” she says gently. As she expected, Cady flies out of bed with a delighted squeal and starts dancing around the room. Janis just watches her with a smile, until Cady leaps on her from above and kisses everywhere she can reach.
“Disneyland! Let’s go, come on, we have to get ready!” Cady calls, lugging Janis out of bed to shower and get dressed. She’s almost as excited as she was when she found out they were coming to France in the first place.
“Baby,” Janis says lovingly. “Breathe. You have an hour long train ride to get through first, we can’t have you leaping out the window when we’re going several hundred miles per hour.”
Cady comes back down to Earth a bit then. “Oh.”
“Come on, let’s get ready, Peanut,” Janis coaxes, turning the shower on.
-
Half an hour later, both ladies are showered and dressed in loose clothing and good shoes, before they head down to meet Damian. Cady leaps on him before he can even open the door all the way.
“We’re going to Disneyland!” She squeals when he yelps in surprise as a small redheaded rocket suddenly barrels into him.
“Good morning, Caddy,” he chuckles affectionately. Janis grabs her wife back, picking her up to carry her to the elevator.
“Come on, Peanut, let’s go,” she tuts lovingly as Cady clings to her with a delighted giggle. “Gonna have to get a leash for you.”
“Kinky,” Cady teases. “I’ll calm down.”
“No you won’t,” Janis retaliates. She doesn’t really want Cady to calm down, anyway. “I know you, wifey.”
“Fine, you’re right,” Cady agrees. “But I won’t run away. I need you guys to show me around anyway.”
“Happily,” Janis says as she finally sets her down.
—————-
Cady is already spinning around in awe when they’re finally outside the gates. Janis links their fingers together as she buys their tickets, and Damian grabs Cady’s other hand before Cady tugs them forward.
Janis buys their way into the park and squeezes Cady’s hand. “Where first, babe?”
“Oh, I don’t know! There’s so much,” Cady says happily. “Oh, can we get ears?”
“Sure,” Janis says. “Well, you can.”
“You don’t want ears?” Cady pouts. “They have a bunch.”
“Under no circumstances am I wearing Mickey ears,” Janis replies. “But you pick some, they’ll be cute on you.”
Ten minutes later, Janis is wearing ears. Cady has some on that look like Simba’s, Damian has a pair designed to look like Mulan’s costume, and Janis has been coaxed by her wife into a Maleficent themed pair. Cady takes a selfie of all of them with their ears, making kissy faces at the camera, and one with their normal smiles.
“Yay! Okay, I wanna see the castle,” Cady cheers as she puts her phone away.
“There’s a dragon too,” Janis says.
“A dragon?” Cady asks. “In the castle?”
“No, underneath,” Janis says. “This way, come on.”
Sure enough, the shortcut Janis takes leads them to a very large animatronic dragon deep in the belly of the castle.
“That’s so cool,” Cady says as she watches it move. “Look, you can see it breathe.”
“The wings move too,” Damian says, pointing to one. “And its feet.”
“Wow,” Cady says. “Can we go in the castle?”
“I think so,” Janis replies. “Line might be a bit long, but we can if you want.”
“It’s so pretty,” Cady sighs happily. “The waterfalls.”
Damian leads them inside and up to the second floor, where there’s a series of large and beautiful stained glass windows depicting the story of Sleeping Beauty. Cady leads them around to peer through each.
“Oh, it’s so beautiful up here,” Cady says. “But let’s go ride stuff, we can come back here later.”
“I wanna go on the Ratatouille ride,” Damian says quickly. Cady nods rapidly, and Janis is also intrigued, so Damian takes their hands and leads them that way. “It’s super cool, they’re not on a track. It’s all computers.”
Cady looks more than a little apprehensive at that. “And they don’t crash into each other?”
“No, they all have programmed routes, every car is different. Don’t worry,” Damian replies.
“Oh. That sounds fun,” Cady cheers. The lines are usually decorated with some sort of theme to match, and Cady looks around excitedly. Janis contents herself with watching her wife until they’re led onto the ride.
Janis has to admit that it is more fun than she had anticipated, it actually makes you feel like a little rat running around. But the best part is still Cady and Damian’s laughter throughout the whole thing.
“Where do you want to go, Jayjay?” Cady asks once they finish, still giggling slightly.
“Hyperspace Mountain,” Janis says immediately. “I don’t know if you guys would like it though, it goes pretty fast.”
“I’ll try it,” Cady says.
Damian says, “Hard pass,” at the same time. “You guys go, I’ll just look around.” He holds their ears and bags as they go to wait in line.
“Cads, are you sure you want to come? It’s a roller coaster, you didn’t like them last time,” Janis asks once they’re in line.
“That was almost ten years ago, love. Maybe I’ll like this one,” Cady says. “I’ll try anything once. And anything for you.”
Janis grins and leans in for a chaste kiss. “If you’re sure. I love you.”
“I love you more,” Cady retaliates.
“No, we’ve been through this!” Janis insists.
“And we’ve never reached a conclusion, so what’s your point?” Cady says with a chuckle. “This could continue until the end of time.”
Janis kind of hopes it does. They continue bickering until they’re fastened in. Cady goes quiet when she realizes where she is. She’s excited, but still nervous. She doesn’t have a great track record with roller coasters so far. Janis takes her hand and kisses her knuckles to help calm her down just before they shoot forward.
Cady’s hair is entirely poofed out by the time they get off, and she’s shaking slightly.
“Did you like it?” Janis asks as they head back to Damian.
“Uhhuh,” Cady says shakily.
“Are you lying?” Janis asks, knowing her wife.
“Uhhuh,” Cady says again. Janis laughs, but hugs her gently once they’re out of the way.
“You don’t have to come with me on anything else, it’s okay,” Janis chuckles as her wife clings to her. She seems better this time, she’s not shaking quite so hard and doesn’t look near tears. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Cady replies. “Just... maybe shouldn’t go on anything for a little while. I’m a little overwhelmed.”
“That’s fine, baby,” Janis says. “I’m hungry anyway, let’s find something to eat.”
“Oh, yay!” Cady cheers, always excited to eat. “Oh, Damian has something.”
“Hey guys!” Damian says as they finally reach him. “I found crepes.” He hands each of them a Nutella crepe he had gotten off a cart. “Nice hair, Cads.”
“Thanks,” Cady says, knowing she resembles a lion. She grabs her Lion King ears back to complete the look, before she ties her hair back in a ponytail to make it more manageable. “Ooh, this is good!”
“Yeah, for Disney it’s not bad,” Janis agrees around a mouthful. “Where d’you want to go now?”
“There’s a little Alice in Wonderland maze thingy over that way, it looks cute,” Damian says as he finishes his own snack. “And would be a good way to recover from the coaster.”
“Yes, please, let’s go there,” Cady says, already setting off. Janis and Damian hurry after her towards the maze.
They decide to split up and see who makes it out first. Cady winds up winning, jumping up and down as her wife and friend come out after her. “I win!”
“Nice, Cads. Must be some Kenya left in you,” Damian congratulates, ruffling her hair. “Where now?”
“There’s a pirate thing over that way, I can’t remember if it’s Peter Pan or Pirates of the Caribbean,” Janis replies. “That’s pretty chill.”
“Oh, that sounds nice,” Cady says. Janis leads them over to it and hugs Cady tight as they wait in line.
“Are you having fun?” She asks quietly as Damian sings along to the music playing.
“Yeah, I really am,” Cady grins. “Are you?”
“Yeah,” Janis says back. “I am. I love you.”
“I love you too,” Cady replies.
-
By the time the sun is starting to go down, they’ve gone on everything they wanted to, eaten almost every food offered around the premises, and taken pictures with just about every character they could find.
They have enough time to stay and watch the fireworks before they have to catch the train back. Cady has exerted all of her energy, so Damian and Janis switch off carrying her piggyback around as they finish doing what they want to.
Janis has her as they watch the fireworks, bundled cozily in the matching Mickey Mouse hoodies they had bought when Cady got cold. Cady squishes their cheeks together as they both look up, their Mickey ears clacking together gently.
“I love you so much, Janis,” Cady says quietly as the last firework pops off in the sky. If Cady wasn’t so close Janis wouldn’t have heard. “More than words can say.”
“I love you too, Cady. More than any language can say,” Janis replies. Cady nuzzles into her neck and drifts off to sleep, so Janis just adjusts her grip and chats with Damian as they head out towards the gates.
—————
A couple days later, they head out to see the Palace of Versailles. They’d taken a day to recover from Disneyland, just staying in their hotel and spending quiet time together.
Cady has read up on the history of the palace, and is rattling off facts about each area they visit. Janis is very interested in the beautiful murals on some of the walls and the gorgeous statues scattered about. Damian is more interested in hearing about the royals who built and used to live in the palace. Cady tells them about everything they want to know.
“What if we had a garden like this at home, Jay?” Cady asks as they stroll around the sprawling grounds. Damian had wandered off and got stuck on a tour, so they’re waiting for him to be released.
“We would be very tired trying to maintain it,” Janis responds. “It’s so big, I’m tired just looking at it.”
“True,” Cady giggles. “But I think if we were rich enough to have something this big we’d be able to pay someone else to take care of it. Just think of how much hide and seek we could play here. I’d never run out of hiding spots.”
Janis laughs. “That’s why you want such a massive place? Just to play hide and seek?”
“Why not? What else are you supposed to do with it?” Cady asks. “Just walking around it must get boring after a while.”
“I don’t know that it would, it’s so beautiful,” Janis hums. “You could take a different path every day.”
“You could paint a different part every day, too,” Cady says. “And it must look different in every season, you could do four for each part!”
“You want four paintings for each bit of this place?” Janis chuckles.
“I always want your paintings,” Cady says quietly. “They’re part of you.”
Janis is almost stunned silent. “Thanks, baby. That’s why I love everything you make.”
“Even that shitty plate I tried to make you?” Cady giggles.
“It works! It’s a plate,” Janis insists. “I can still use it. The lumps are good for holding salsa and stuff.”
“And you say you’re not cute,” Cady responds. “I wonder how much this has changed since people lived here. Like, someone from two or three hundred years ago could have walked this same path.”
“I don’t think it’s changed much,” Janis says. “Maybe we walked it before. Past life, or something.”
“Could be,” Cady hums pensively. “You think we were together in a past life?”
“I don’t see why we couldn’t have been,” Janis says. “I definitely feel like I’ve known you a lot longer than I actually have.”
“I feel that way too, I just thought it was a cheesy ‘our souls are connected’ thing,” Cady giggles. “Oh, there’s Damian. Poor thing, he looks so confused.”
“I don’t think that tour he got stuck on was in English,” Janis laughs as they wave him over. “I told him he should keep studying French, but no.”
“How was it, Dame?” Cady asks as Damian finally makes his way to them.
“The bits I could understand were quite interesting,” Damian replies. “Lot of walking though, this place is big.”
“It’s massive! And everything is so detailed, I think I could walk around here every day for ten years and still miss something,” Cady says happily.
“Right? I almost plowed some people down because I kept staring at the ceilings,” Damian chuckles. “Anyway, have you ladies seen what you want to see? I’m hungry.”
“When are you not?” Janis jokes, earning her a whack from her wife. “Ow!”
“Be nice,” Cady scolds. “I’m ready to go, I’m hungry too.”
“I’m nice! This is just how we treat each other,” Janis insists. “You’ve known us for ten years, come on!”
“Yes, and I’ve been constantly exasperated with you two ever since,” Cady sighs lovingly. “Now come on.”
—————
They head to a chocolate shop on their second-to-last day in Paris, so Aaron can get the freshest sweets possible. Janis is slightly worried that they won’t be able to bring them on the plane, but she decides to cross that bridge once they get there.
“So what kinds of chocolate does your boy toy like, Dame?” Janis asks, looking at a small bag of truffles that she’s very interested in for herself.
“Anything, really, he loves candy,” Damian says. “Where did Caddy go?”
“I dunno, she said she wanted to see something,” Janis replies. “She went that way.”
“Hm. Okay,” Damian says suspiciously. “God, everything smells so good.”
“Fresh chocolate,” Janis responds. Familiar arms suddenly wrap around her waist from behind. “Hi, Peanut. What have you been up to?”
“Nothing,” Cady hums in a tone that says she’s definitely been up to something. “Did you pick something?”
“Damn, why is this so expensive?” Damian asks suddenly, holding a case of chocolates of varying flavors. “All of the stuff here is.”
“Because it’s handmade,” Janis says. “They make new stuff every day.”
“Jesus,” Damian sighs. “He’d like this, though.”
“Done,” Janis says as she takes it, working her way over to buy them with her wife still clinging to her. “Now, what did you really get up to, Butterfly?”
“I might have signed us up for an eclair making class,” Cady mumbles. “They said we get to eat the rejects, I couldn’t resist!”
Janis laughs. “That sounds fun, babe, it’s okay. When is it?”
“Now,” Cady says shyly as a man suddenly emerges from the back and greets them. They’re led to wash their hands and put on gloves and hairnets.
The chef gives the instructions in French, so Janis translates as quickly as she can. “Oh, shit.”
“What? We haven’t even done anything yet, what could’ve happened already?” Damian asks frantically.
“He says if ours are good enough they’ll sell them in the shop,” Janis explains. “Or at least use them as a display.”
“Ooh,” Cady says excitedly, paying even closer attention.
“Why is a little bread thing so complicated?” Janis asks in slight fear, as the chef adds flour to a milk mixture and cooks it out.
“But they’re so good,” Cady says, restraining herself from eating all the caramel ingredients and tasty chocolate within her reach. “It’s worth it!”
The chef instructs them through the process of making a sort of caramel custard while the eclairs bake. Damian has started taking notes on his phone.
They’re set loose then, to replicate what the chef has taught them from scratch. Cady starts what she remembers from making the pastry, adding milk and a few other things to a pan. “This already doesn’t look right.”
“Shh, no, it’s fine,” Janis says quickly. “Just keep going, it’ll be fine.” Miraculously, she’s half-right, by the time everything else has been added and combined it almost looks like the one done by a professional.
Damian helps Janis load the dough into the piping bag, Cady watching anxiously off to the side. Janis gets to pipe them out on the bakeware, trying to remember how the chef did it.
She butchers the first one. It turns out sort of lumpy and misshapen, but for her first try it’s not terrible. Unfortunately, the improvement for the others is rather minimal.
“What are you doing? The fuck is that?” Damian calls as she pipes one and twists the end the wrong way.
“My best! I’m doing my best,” Janis calls back. “Look, we can fix it, it’s fine!”
“It’s not fine, oh my god,” Damian says. Janis suddenly hits an air bubble, making one of the eclairs much shorter than it was supposed to be.
“And you’re not helping!” Janis says, piping a little more out. Cady is bent over double laughing at their interaction. “Get the egg wash ready, dork.”
Damian helps Cady get the wash ready, brushing it over the piped pastry and shaping them back to something approaching decent.
“There,” Cady says as she brushes tears of laughter from her eyes. “Good job, guys.”
Janis huffs as she rests the piping bag down and glares at Damian. “Thank you. I tried very hard.”
“I never said they were bad,” Damian defends as the chef helps them clean up to prepare to make the filling. He’s also laughing, apparently having understood most of the recent conversation. “I just criticized your every move.”
“And I appreciate that so much,” Janis says sarcastically. “You fixed them, they’ll be fine.”
Cady gets to make most of the filling, with the chef watching protectively nearby in case of disaster. For her first time making caramel, she does remarkably well. She yelps a little when it puffs up as they add the cream to make it a custard, but recovers quickly and keeps going.
“There, see? Much easier,” Cady says, looking meaningfully at her wife and friend. The caramel is only slightly burnt, but the chef tasted it and said she could get away with it. That was her goal all along.
The eclairs come out of the oven looking remarkably good, and Cady helps Janis prepare the piping bag for the filling. The chef watches them in amusement, and Cady suddenly realizes they’ve made a terrible error.
“Jay?” She asks as Janis fills the bag, blissfully unaware.
“What?” Janis asks.
“We’ve made a mistake,” Cady mumbles, trying to hold back laughter.
“What? What did we do wrong?” Janis asks sadly.
Cady giggles hysterically. “When is the tip supposed to go in?”
Janis’ eyes go wide, and Damian bursts out laughing.
“Shit. Um... how do... what do we do?” Janis asks.
“Take the filling back out so we can put it in?” Cady suggests. Janis takes the bag and scrapes the caramel custard back into the bowl frantically while Cady hunts for the piping tip. “There, problem solved.”
“How are we so bad at this?” Janis mumbles as Cady puts the tip in and holds it for Janis to refill.
“We’re American,” Damian answers. “And eclairs are, like, famously tough to make.”
Once the filling bag is properly constructed, Cady hands the bag to Damian so he can pipe the eclairs full.
“You’re doing it wrong,” Janis teases to get him back. “Look, you have to fill them more! What are you doing?”
“Okay, point proven,” Damian grumbles as he pipes in more on the other side. Cady covers them with the same custard once they’re all full, and then a piece of chocolate is rested on as decoration.
“Yay, we didn’t do that bad!” Cady cheers. “They don’t look that different from his.”
“Yeah, but how do they taste?” Janis asks. She grabs what is clearly the worst looking one and takes a bite, and her eyes go wide when it’s actually quite good. “Oh, shit. Guys, try it.” Cady takes a bite too, and she dances happily at the taste. Damian goes next, giving a surprised hum.
The chef tries one of his own, hiding his surprise well. He informs them that they’re not quite good enough to sell, but they look good enough that they can pick one to put in the window. They pick the best looking one, and get to take the rest home.
“Well that was certainly an experience,” Damian chuckles. “Nice pick, Cads.”
“Thanks! That was fun,” Cady says happily. “And we get eclairs!”
Janis chuckles at how cute her wife is. “Let’s go eat them all.”
—————
On their last full day in Paris, they finally get to go up the Eiffel tower. Damian and Janis are more than a little anxious, since it’s so high, but Cady promises to keep them both safe.
The sun went down a few hours ago, and the stars are out in full force. Cady leans up against the railing and looks out over the rooftops of Paris, thinking back on all the experiences she’s gotten to have over the last week and a half or so.
Janis comes up to hug her from behind as she spies Notre Dame, making her jump. They were warned about pickpockets, so they gave everything important to Janis to keep in her inner jacket pockets. Cady still gets startled.
“Sorry,” Janis says quietly. “Just me.”
Cady leans back against her and turns to smile up at her. “Just my favorite person in the world.”
Janis chuckles. “You’re pretty high on my list, too.”
“Good, nice to know,” Cady giggles in reply.
“Was this a good trip?” Janis asks, kissing her cheek and looking out. She can see the candy shop they got Aaron’s thank you present from the day before, and their hotel. It’s all lit up, and very beautiful.
“A great trip. I loved every minute,” Cady replies. “I don’t want to go home.”
“I don’t either,” Janis says. “We’ll come back soon.”
“We better. We can actually go places now that I’m not in school anymore,” Cady replies. “Thanks for bringing us here.”
“Of course. Dame, come here,” Janis says, reaching for him. He comes to join the cuddle, forming a group hug.
“I love you guys,” he says quietly. “Thanks for the trip, Janjan.”
Janis sniffs, crying slightly. “Both of you stop it, this is too mushy.”
“Aww, Jellybean,” Cady coos. “Come here.” She pulls Janis and Damian in tighter, both of them bending down slightly to cuddle into her shoulders. “I love both of you so much.”
“I said stop,” Janis whines. “God, I love you guys so much.”
“We are in the city of love, Jan, you can’t stop it,” Damian chuckles. “I don’t even want to think about what you two did in that room.”
“Damian Hubbard!” Cady scolds. “Behave.”
“Sorry,” Damian says sheepishly. “I’ll give you guys a moment.” He heads to the other side then, looking out over a different part of the city.
Janis pulls back from her wife and wipes her eyes gently, Cady cupping her face and running her thumbs over her cheeks.
“J’taime tellement,” Cady whispers, leaning up to press their lips together. Another thing to check off their bucket lists, making out on top of the Eiffel tower.
“J’taime aussi,” Janis replies between kisses. “Tellement.”
“We’ll come back someday,” Cady murmurs gently, ghosting the words against Janis’ lips. “We do have to go home.”
“Do you want to know your other surprise?” Janis asks. “Make going home a little easier?”
“Yeah,” Cady says excitedly. Janis grins.
“Remember how when you were trying to guess what I got you in the first place, you asked if we were getting a puppy? And I said no?” Janis asks. Cady nods. “I lied.”
“Really?” Cady squeals. “You’re serious?”
“I don’t kid around about puppies. I found a breeder who just had a litter of golden retrievers a while ago, once we get settled back home we’ll go choose one,” Janis replies, giggling as Cady kisses her passionately again.
“Oh, golden retriever puppies are so cute, yay,” Cady says, bouncing happily. “Elvira gets a sibling.”
“Oh, she’s gonna hate that,” Janis chuckles.
“She’s still young, she’ll learn to like them,” Cady says. “She’s only two.”
“Yeah, that’s, like, a lot of cat years,” Janis says. “She’s a moody teenager.”
“God, yeah,” Cady chuckles. “Sleeps all day too. Oh well, we’ll pick a puppy with a similar personality.”
“I think you’re right, though. They’ll get used to each other eventually,” Janis says.
“We’ll work on it,” Cady replies. “Good job, love, now I almost want to go home.”
“Good,” Janis laughs. “But for now, kiss me again.”
“Gladly,” Cady purrs, popping up on her tippy toes again.
————-
A week later, they’re back in New York and almost adjusted once again to the time change. Time for a puppy.
They’d gotten all the supplies they would need the day before and set up the living room, deciding to keep Elvira in the bedroom until they were ready to be introduced face to face.
Cady shakes with excitement almost the whole way, frantically fiddling with a few of the stim toys she’s recently added to her collection.
When they enter the shelter, they’re immediately swarmed by a flock of puppies, wagging their tails happily and sniffing their shoes. One hops up on its hind legs to sniff Cady better.
“Oh my god,” Cady squeals, in a higher pitch than Janis has ever heard from her. “Oh, you’re all so cute, how am I supposed to pick?”
Janis sits down and laughs as several clamber onto her lap, trying to kiss her face. Cady follows suit, shrieking in surprise as about seven suddenly swarm in and knock her onto her back. One makes it to her face first, sniffing curiously at her nose before settling in on her chest for a nap.
“Oh. Who’s this one?” Cady asks, waving the others away from her face and cradling the one resting.
“That’s Salt. You can change her name if you want,” the breeder replies. “She’s the smallest, and pretty lazy, but she’s very gentle.”
Janis comes over carrying three others in her arms, trying to keep them off her lap. She extends a hand for Salt to sniff and chuckles when she chomps gently on her fingers.
“What do you think, baby?” Janis asks, looking at her wife.
“I love her,” Cady says happily. “Look at that face! We have to go now or I’ll take all of them, get me out of here. I want this one.”
“Sounds good, Butterfly,” Janis laughs. “Come on, let’s go get everything sorted.”
“Okay,” Cady says, scooping up her puppy and following them. “Bye guys! Oh, god, all of you are so sweet.”
“Okay, Salt here is already spayed and microchipped, mostly housebroken, but she’s not trained in any other way. She’s also had all her vaccinations to date, and here’s a recommendation for a vet,” the breeder says. “We notify on our social media whenever one gets adopted, so if you’d ever like to meet up with any of her siblings you can get in touch with their families that way.”
“Aww, that’s great, you’ll get to see your brothers and sisters again,” Cady coos. “Now we get to take you home!”
Janis manages to wiggle the puppy into her new harness and clip the leash on, leading her wife and new addition out once the puppy has said her goodbyes.
“What should we name her, Cads?” Janis asks as the puppy sniffs at a tree.
“What was the name of that shop? From Marseille, where your parents met?” Cady asks.
“La Jonquille,” Janis replies.
“What does that mean? I forgot,” Cady says with a chuckle as Salt runs out of leash and falls down.
“The Daffodil,” Janis says.
“Aww! What about Daffodil? That’s cute,” Cady squeals. “And we could call her Daffy.”
“I like it,” Janis replies. “Come here, Daffy! Come here!” Daffodil comes running over and bumps into Cady’s legs. “Aww, she likes it too, she responded to it.”
“Yay,” Cady says, picking her up and laughing as Daffy licks her face happily. “Oh, goodness, we love you too.”
“Okay, you ready to go home?” Janis asks, scratching behind Daffodil’s little ears.
“Yeah,” Cady grins, taking the leash and holding hands with her wife with her other hand.
But I’m always home with you.

Anon: Bakugo,Sero,Hawks, + Mirio react to accidental confession
SideNote: This is my first ask!! Thank you thank you thank you!! And I would love to do this!! Hopefully it’s good for your liking!!💓
➽──────────────❥
-Accidental Confessions-
HeadCannon
Tumblr media
➽──────────────❥
Warnings: Fluff!! Angst, Fem’Reader!! Aged Up(18+)
Characters: Bakugo, Sero, Hawks, Mirio
Code Words: Y/N=Your Name, E/C=Eye Color, S/C=Skin Color, etc.
➽──────────────❥
Bakugo Katsuki
Tumblr media
As harsh as he seems he’d be frozen. Just standing there like “🧍🏼”
Oh that’s when that shit eating grin pops up/You just boosted his ego by A LOT
So now he’s gonna get back at you or such an “abrupt” confession
He secretly liked you too anyway-
The only thing snapping him into reality was you ready to dash off
It started with You, Mina, and Asui
You were outside in the common room Friday evening talking to Mina and Asui while laying on the couch. “So you do like someone huh?” Mina started teasing..”Ribbit, it’s obviously someone from our school~”Tsu adding on. “Yeah..maybe-“ you looked away trying to think of a way to change the subject when Denki had walked into his dorm. Mina and Tsu looked at each other before looking back at you, “DENKI!?” They shout in unison, the howl making you whip your head back around with a confused look, “What about him?” You ask innocently, “You like Denki-“ Mina whispered, your face began to heat up. “N..no, not even close.” The stammering didn’t help jus ugh your case...”Oooooh Denki!!” They shout out to him, enjoying your reaction. Bakugo was walking down the hallway into the common room, turns out he forgot an assignment on his way out of your dorm while you two studied. “UGH I DONT LIKE DENKI I LIKE BAKUGO!!” Everyone froze, dead quiet..crickets. Bakugo frozen, Mina and Tsu just paralyzed. “Run that by me again?” You hear a voice behind you making you jump. You roll your eyes thinking it was someone messing with you. “I said I like Ba-“ words cut off. You were in absolute shock. Every nerve you held onto just exploded. You immediately turn back around and got up..”Kill me now-“ you mumble under your breath. Looking down and speed walking towards your dorm. A warm hand stopping you as it pulls you in from your waist. “You said my name? Now I’m here. What is it y/n?” Bakugou’s voice neutral for the first time, you pause sucking in the last bit of courage you have left and letting it all out. “I like you..a lot. I have for a while.” You bite your lip afraid of what was next to come when suddenly your body was lifted up in the air. “Well why didn’t you just say so earlier, I’ve been wanting to take you on since we first met” Bakugou’s words soft against your ears as his hands met your thighs holding you tight. “Katsuki-“ you mumble, “She’ll be right back guys, that’s if she can still walk” you shot your head up your body getting goosebumps from the thought of his words.”Katsuki!!” You scream down the hall, Mina and Tsu looking at each other. “It was obvious she liked him, I just wanted to hear her admit it” their laughs fill up the room and the night falls over..💛
Sero Hanta
Tumblr media
Unlike Bakugo he’s more..mm shy about it that’s until he sees how embarrassed you are.
Mans saw you stand up and run off had him activate his quirk real quick
Now you were face-to-face with your crush
And no way was he gonna let that get past him
All started when he borrowed your number to meet up for a group party after school. You had it at the bottom of your contacts, assuming you wouldn’t ever need it but hey..it’s your crush why not keep it. To be fair many people were unsaved numbers, so one day your walking down the hallway during lunch ready to meet up with Momo and Toru, you were texting them on the way. “What!? You like someone!?” The ding from the notif sending vibrations to your phone seeing it from Toru in the group chat. “Since when!? And who!!” Momo follows, “Omg we must know him right?”..more texts snd texts follow as your phone dings repeatedly. Texts from others too, you got sick of it and just decided to confess..only to the wrong person-You clicked Sero’s name cause he texted you for an assignment and his was at the top you open it not even paying kind to the text and quickly going “I like Sero!! I have since school started!! Happy now!?” The aggressive text sent, you sigh hoping that would end the notifications only to here one more. “What now?” You scoff, you nearly dropped your phone when you read the text-“Damn that’s one way to confess, usually it ends with a kiss” your hearty DROPPED. Fear ran through you, how could you have been so stupid you quickly turned around trying to make a run for it when you turned around and rammed into Sero. Him off all people why now? You got up apologizing before turning back the other way when he grabbed you with his quirk and had you inches away from his face. “You like me?” He asks, subtle. You walking died right then and there..”Yeah.” The shakiness in your voice from one word unbearable to hear..you were so ready to end it all before he said..”Then I’ll make it worth your while mi amor~” followed by a kiss on the cheek and him holding your hand. Your phone dinging again, “Where are you?!!” Momo asks but you left the chat open forgetting your worries and following along with Sero, a smile piercing your face...🖤
Keigo Takami (Hawks)
Tumblr media
You two worked at the same agency so it was bound to happen
But sheesh his reaction was worth the way you confessed
You were talking to yourself (which doesn’t even help the situation chile-😭)
Man...The expectation vs reality never ever gets old especially with Hawks
It was 7am Wednesday morning when you decided to get to work early. Usually your the only person there but you never mind having the place to yourself. You always made everyone coffee and made a special one for Hawks, not that he minded. It was sweet and cute if you to do for him, even if it wasn’t intentional. So as usual you made his coffee and went to go set it down in his workspace. You walk in as you normal but this time you notice a big pile of papers, “Um what the fu-“ you let out a loud sigh placing the coffee on his window sill before gathering up all the papers. “This is so unexpected of him..” you say aloud, “Usually his workspace is so tidy and spotless, what do I see in him sometimes?” That’s when you were met with a dark room, you thought the lights went out when you turn over only to see your winged lover next to the window. “See in who birdie?” He coos, you dropped the paper you were holding ready to shut the window before he quickly got in. Oh shit..A million and one thought cross your mind. “What are you stalking me for?!” Your only reply since you had nowhere to flee too, “I don’t know, why are you in my office?” He asks, inching closer and closer your heart threatening to pop out of your chest before he placed a hand to your waist and the other grabbing your wrist pulling you in. Leaning down he whispers to you “If you like me so much, come stop by my place around 8pm.” That’s when his door opened to one of your co-worker. “O..oh sorry I’ll go-“ he murmurs out of embarrassment, “Ah no it’s okay kid, come on in what did you need?” Hawks quickly replies, “It was about those files you wanted?” The co-worker responded. “Yes yes, thank you..I owe you one I’ll get right with you once I’m done with my baby bird here” his voice cocky. My. The word imprinted in your mind, you scoff a slight smile covering your face. “You are really a mystery, Keigo.” 🧡
Mirio Togata
Tumblr media
Oh if you felt shy already be prepared
He would totally tease you about it at first
Don’t get me wrong he’s shy too but he loves seeing you try and hide from him it’s cute
I guess you didn’t learn the first time from Bakugo but you shouted it out with your friends
Oh man oh man, what great timing since he appeared right through the wall nearly giving you a heart attack
You and your friends were on top of the school roof during lunch break. (One could teleport, although theres a door that leads up there) “What’s new with you guys?” One of your friends asks. “Not much, I just got a job” your other friend replies and you both congratulate her. “How about you y/n?”..”Me? Same not much I just have a crush on someone” there food dropped. “A CRUSH!?? WHO!!?” They shout in unison. “Uh—I would rather not say” the butterflies in your stomach cause you to set your food down on the plate. “Aww come on!! Can I guess?” Your friend perks up, “Definitely not!! You’re the worst with guessing.” You bark back. “Fine then tell us” they both tease you. “I like Mirio.” Jaws dropped. “Repeat that y/n?” “I LIKE MIRIOOOOO!!” You shout sick of their child play and that’s only the beginning of your issues. “Y/n?” A soft spoken voice behind you. “Oh shit-“ you groan looking over to see Mirio. “That’s our cue-“ your friend says before grabbing the other one and getting away. Now it was just you and Mirio..and the thought of his name being screamed at on the top of a building. It lasted about 5 seconds before you tried to make your way off the building ready to just sacrifice yourself-.”Hey wait!!” You pause turning around and meeting his intense gaze. “I like you too.” His voice is so delicate it makes your stomach flip, he walks over to you and takes you off the ledge. “You do?” You ask him..”Of course, who wouldn’t fall in love with someone so gorgeous.” You smile, eyes lit up with joy..”But next time..try not screaming that from a building but maybe in my room.” You slap the back of his head playfully before grunting at his statement. “I’m kidding!! Sort of-“ as you two walked back downstairs..he placed a kiss on your cheek. “Cute”💛
Hope you enjoyed love!! Thanks again so much for requesting I hope it’s what you were looking for!!🥺💜💜

Note
Hi! I heard your requests were open and I wanted to request how the DMC boys (Dante, Vergil, Nero, V) would celebrate after their s/o accomplished something. I'm a week away from graduating and it's been stressful but I'm so close! Thank you in advance.
Awww yeah!!! Glad your getting ready to graduate!!! I'm happy for you! I hope you take some time for yourself, and relax! Hope you enjoy this! I kinda winged it, and assumed you were talking about college. Sorry if that wasn't what your moving on from.
Dante
The moment you burst into the shop, ecstatic, your boyfriend picked up on this
He hopped up, as you strode in proudly, holding your certificate of completion
"I did it! I finally got it!"
Dante held his arms up in the air, waiting for you to tell him what you got
You put the paper in his face
He backed up abit looking at the paper, taking it in his hands
"Sweet! You passed.... college?"
You rolled your eyes, "Not just college dumb-dumb, I passed my classes and got my degree. I can be a doctor."
Dante scratched his head, "Well... what do you wanna do?"
You looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully
Your big dummy waited for you, with big eyes
"How about just a movie night? You'd been working alot lately."
He smiled at you, "Sounds good to me!"
You both spent the next few hours getting snacks, drinks, pillows, blankets and movies
Now, all snuggled up, with your personal devil heater
You both spent the night watching movies
Eventually getting to the point, where Dante fell asleep
His head in your lap
Every so often letting out a content purr, as you stroked his hair
Overall a good indoor celebration, just to two of you
Vergil
He had been waiting for the good news
You walked in, feet dragging
Your friends wanted to go out and party, but you declined, knowing that Vergil was waiting for you
He looked up as the door opened
He stood to greet you and noticed your demeanor
"Well?" He asked, raising a brow, like an expecting father
You smiled at him, holding up your certificate
"Right here." You smiled at him
For one of the few times in his life, Vergil gave you a genuine smile
He gave you a kiss, then turned you around and pointed at a bag
"Get dressed. I have something planned for you." He left you alone, opening a portal
You made a face, confused.
Vergil always had a thing for the flare and dazzling
You shrugged, getting dressed
It was a glorious blue dress/suit (I aint gonna describe it, it can be whatever you like)
After you where dressed, Vergil returned, taking your hand
"Come. Our arrangements are finished."
He led you through the portal
You were greeted with the sight of Nero and Dante dressed like waiters
You giggled at Dante who was fussing with the bow tie
Nero gave you an awkward smile, pulling out your chair
The pair served you both and left you two alone
"Im proud of you." Vergil spoke, "I know you worked very hard for it."
You nodded your mouth full, the food was good
Vergil looked at you, despite the food stuffed in your mouth, he smiled again
'Boy,' you thought, 'I must have hit the metaphorical lotto.'
You swallowed. "Your smiling awfully alot tonight, is something in your mind?"
Vergil's smile dropped, and his face flushed, just a bit
You leaned over your food, "Verg? Are you ok? Are you going to leave again?"
He had a habit of leaving alot... and then coming home whenever
His gaze shot up to you
"Actually what I'm about to ask you will keep me from leaving so much..."
He stood up and walked over to you, getting on both knees
He looked you in the eyes and took both of your hands in his
"I wanted you to ask you to be mine."
You cocked your head, "What? Vergie, we're-"
You where hit in the head by something
You turned your head to see Dante, wide eyed and pointing at Nero
Scowling you looked at what was yeeted at your head
It was a small black box
Your eyes widened, slowly picking up the box
Vergil gave another smile, "well? Do you-"
He was cut off by you grabbing him and pulling him into a kiss
Then a hug, staining his suit with tears
"I suppose this is a yes..."
Dante gave a wolf whistle
Nero
You woke up the day after graduating
But you weren't at home...
Nero looked at you smiling, a big smile
You rubbed your eyes
"Nero, why are we in the van? And why did Nico let you take it?"
He didn't say anything, just turning back to the road
Your doofus had been driving all night
You walked to the passenger seat, opening a drink
Which you spit out, you saw the signs headed to Six Flags!!
"Hey! Not all over the dash! Nico is gonna-"
You cut Nero of letting out an excited squeal
"BABE!! YOU SHOULDNT HAVE!!"
Nero gave a chuckle, "But I did. And we've got a hotel for after. We'll be here for a few days, to relax and have fun!"
He hopped out of the van, slamming the door shut
You followed, rushing to the gates, sadly sadly line was starting to grow despite how early it was
Nero grabbed your hand, flashing some VIP passes at you
He pulled you to the non-existent line for the VIP's
You pulled ahead of him pulling in to the first ride you saw, the Superman
You both strapped up, you wiggling excitedly
Nero laughed at your excitement
This is how you both spent the day
In the hotel, Nero ordered out and you guys laid around resting for the next day
"Nero, what brought on the va-kay?"
He shrugged, eating another gummy worm
"You'd been working hard for your degree or whatever, so I figured you could use some fun." He answered, nonchalantly
You smiled at him
He always acted like a punk, but you knew he really cared
"Thank you..." You sat up from your laying position and scooted over to him
He looked away from the TV and at you, raising his eyebrow
You gave him a sweet kiss on the lips, which he returned happily
V
V attended your graduation with your family
Even the dinner following it
He lovingly held your hand, taking your shared nighly walk
"Well? What's next for you, Love?"
You pondered the question, not sure
Shadow padded next you, letting you pet her smooth fur
Griffon scouted ahead, just in case, "Look kid, you gotta wanna do something. You didn't work all that hard work, for nothing."
V silenced the bird with a look, then turned his kind gaze back to you
You bit your lip, in thought
You already knew the answer, but you didn't know how V was going to react
"Love?" Your hand started to shake in his, he took notice of this and it made him nervous
"I... I want to stay here. With you." You whispered
V raised his eyebrows, this surprised him
"But I tho-"
"Well I did but... I dont want to leave you behind..."
He stopped walking, stepping infront of you, he pulled out a key
You looked at him, "Wha-"
"This is for our apartment. It's still here in Red Grave. But... I know you still wanted to study more, so I relocated us to the other side of the city... Closer to the school you wanted to study at..."
He looked abit hurt, he really wanted you to achieve your dreams
And didn't want to hold you back
You looked at him, "Already?"
He nodded, looking at your hand still holding his
You stood on tip toe, kissing his lips
Then pulled away, "Thank you so much. I didn't think i-"
V smiled, "Dont. I can see it in your eyes how grateful you are. Come. We need to go home. I want you to see the apartment."
Once you both made it home, you opened the door
It... it was decorated like you thought V would decorate
Very Modern Victorian style
It even had a fireplace!!
You gasped, walking in the apartment, feeling the velvet couch and recliners
You looked and saw a bookshelf, smiling
The rest of the bedrooms even the bathroom had the same vibe
V really put did himself
"I love it."
V smiled and wrapped his arms around you
"Im glad you do. And we're not that far from the shop or your schooling. But I can think of something that will make your feel better."
You laughed at him, planting a kiss on his neck
"Im sure you could~"

taehee in america!!
Tumblr media
— i can’t find a gif from one of their interviews :// also the events aren’t in sequence,,whatever i remember watching will appear here so if i missed something, u guys can tell me!!
okay so taehee’s like
different
like most of the tweets were ‘american air changed taehee’
like in korea she’s chill, semi-shy but still chaotic
but in america it’s that but x82848, minus the shy part it’s like gone now
and she’s more interactive with czennies so that’s probably why (*^_^*)
like in one of their interviews someone asked, “okay, so i have a question from tumblr...do you know tumblr”
“yes i know tumblr ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)”
and she loved doing rpd with them it’s so cute
she kept hyping them up and dancing in the sidelines
but when cherry bomb comes on
she was like: this is my song. must. dance.
and she was center for the nananananana part so it was p e r f e c t
when they did flinch she was paired with doyoung
james was trying to talk to them but they were mODELLING
let them do their work james
“oh i see how it is now”
her eyes flinched a bit when the fruit came out but they didn’t notice....hopefully
anyways youngtae won
speaking of interviews
awkward faces. disgusted faces. bored faces. fake smile faces.
‘oh shit did they just say that?’ faces.
“so how’s it like being the only girl in the group?”
in her head she’s like: stfu i didn’t go to america for this ಠ╭╮ಠ
but outside she’s like: hahahaha looks like i gotta answer this ∩^ω^∩ gotta pay rent u know?
the genius interview oh god markhee was a MESS
they kept pinching each other when they had to explain the s t e a m y parts of the song so johnny did it for them
in the end they just gave up on explaining so she said “you don’t have to take the lyrics word by word, line by line. you can take it however you want and the feelings aren’t just limited to a significant other. it’s just love between two people and that could be a friend, a partner-“
inside they’re like “good job, taehee. good job,” until she says
“-your mom.”
and when they were teaching cherry bomb she couldn’t keep her mouth shut
“okay so you spread your legs like this” - johnny
“that’s when you feel the air coming in” - mark
and when doyoung thought it couldn’t get any worse
“oh, really? i don’t” - taehee
and yuta, taeyong, johnny, and mark just try to hold their laughter
doyoung @ the rest: just smile and wave boys, smile and wave

@trademarked-but-not-really and @aestheticallytiredandpathetic I have finished prompt three! I'm working on number 2 and 5 rn so they should be out soon!
In the meantime, enjoy!
Just a note that there will be abuse mentioned in this, relating to the old angsty fic I wrote? Yeah I explain more about the abuse here. Be warned!!
Denki swore as he hit the wrong note again. Jirou snorted as Bakugo yelled, having to restart for the fourth or fifth time that night. Momo came in with a tray of tea, accompanied by cookies.
"Satou made these for us! He made them specifically to each of our tastes as well!" She set the tray down and handed the treats out. Jirou thanked her, and gulped down her water. Tokoyami sat back, his fingers hopping from chord to chord.
Bakugo scoffed. "You still trying to learn that rift off? It's been three weeks, birdie." He said around a mouthful. Tokoyami let his head fall back. "I'm well aware of that, but thank you for pointing it out." He grumbled sarcastically. Bakugo shrugged and messed with his drumsticks.
There was silence as they ate. They got back to work, trying once again to get past a particularly difficult part of the song they were working on. Denki was clearly getting more and more frustrated, and he failed more as a result. Eventually, Jirou tried to call time-out, and Denki snapped.
He threw the guitar down, and it barely missed Tokoyami's head. Bakugo growled at him to watch it. "Sorry, mister perfect! I'm not good at this bullshit!" He yelled, turning away. Momo carefully made her way over. "No one's perfect, but that doesn't mean you can give up! We're all trying to learn this." She attempted to reassure him. Tokoyami nodded in agreement.
This appeared to make Denki angrier. "It's not the music!" He pulled back and faced the door, arms crossed. Jirou looked confused. "Then what is it?" Denki grumbled something. "Speak up, Spark Plug." Bakugo said.
"That! That's what's bothering me!" Denki spun around, tears threatening to fall. "It's the fact that your quirks are so cool, and you're all so talented! And what am I?" He scrunched up, tears falling down his face. "I'm nothing without your help..." The room was quiet after Denki's outburst. Momo's hand retracted.
The silence was deafening. Bakugo spoke up. "You idi— Denki. Look at me." Everyone's head snapped up, clearly taken aback by the correction. Bakugo continued. "No one actually thinks they're any good—" Denki shook his head, not letting him continue. "You say that, but your quirk is awesome! You don't count!" He said stubbornly.
Yamomo spoke up. "He's right. I dont think I'm good enough to be a hero either." Bakugo, Tokoyami and Jirou looked at Momo in shock. Denki buffered. "But, your quirk is amazing—" Momo cut in. "That doesn't matter if I cant put it in action effectively." She spoke calmly, but her hands shook.
Jirou looked away. "You saw me when we talked about music the first time." She said dejectedly. "I didnt think it was useful at all." She chuckles, though there are now tears in her eyes too. "Well, I still dont think that music is useful. Not really." Bakugo looked between them. This clearly wasnt what he was expecting.
Tokoyami shifted his weight from one leg to the other. He felt like he needed to share something. "No one ever really thought I could be a hero." He said quietly. The groups attention was on him. Tokoyami swallowed his nerves. "People always told me I'd be a villain, so after a while I started to believe them..." He stared firmly down at the ground. There goes his 'never cries in front of people' facade.
Bakugo looked between them. This was bullshit. How could they not think—?
Denki sniffed. "People only really used me as a phone charger or a back-up generator in middle school. My brain fried a lot, and people made fun of me." Denki sat down, telling his life story.
Yaomomo followed. "People used me for money, and when they had finished with me, they publicly embarrassed me in front of the school." She explained. Jirou shook her head angrily.
"People never made fun of me because I never told them." Jirou said. "I didnt have a lot of friends, and I got kinda lonely." She shrugged. The group looked up at Tokoyami, who still hadn't sat down. "If we're sharing..." he reluctantly said.
He sat down cross-legged. "People bullied me because of my animal head, and would force me to show Dark Shadow to everyone simply because he was 'different'" He told them, petting Dark Shadow softly. "And because I was so small, they would shove me into the tightest pace imaginable." Tokoyami shivered at the memories.
As the group shared their trauma, Bakugo tried to find a way to fix them. Denki was chatting, and they all gave their opinions, when the question popped up.
"Hey, what're your parents like?" Tokoyami froze. Yaomomo spoke highly about her parents, talking about the fun they had. Tokoyami was confused. Jirou talked about how her parents helped her learn all her instruments, and Tokoyami couldn't help but ask, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"You're parents helped you with that stuff?" The group was stunned to silence. Denki laughed nervously. "Yeah dude, didnt your parents do normal things?" Tokoyami shrugged. "My mom died when I was young, and my father..." Tokoyami didn't wanna think about him.
"What about your father?" Yaomomo asked softly. Tokoyami toyed with the edge of his collar. "Mr. Aziawa told me I'm not supposed to talk to him or any of his associates anymore." And for that Tokoyami was grateful. The group grew concerned.
"Why?" Bakugo asked bluntly. Tokoyami faltered. "It's complicated..." He sighed but decided fuck it. They had shared so much with him.
"My father used to... hit me a lot when I was younger." Tokoyami blurted out. And it was like a dam had opened, he couldn't stop talking. "Sometimes he'd use his fists, and sometimes he'd use something sharp. Either way it hurt. He used to shout. Loudly." Tokoyami hand brought his knees to his chest, breathing going a little haywire.
"He'd lock me in a closet for every rule I broke, and he defiled my mothers grave—" Tokoyami choked on his tears, getting angry. "He let his friends—" he couldn't say it, he couldn't get the words out. "They used to..." Nope, his confidence was gone, and the memories were back.
He fell back, head buried in his arms, shaking. Jirou panicked, and being the closest, threw her arms around him. Tokoyami froze, but when Jirou's hands stayed firmly in one place, he relaxed. Yaomomo joined swiftly, and Denki came from the back. Tokoyami felt oddly warm, and safe. It wasnt a feeling he usually experienced when hugged.
Bakugo stood, and made his way over. Wordlessly, he joined the hug. They stayed like that for a while, until there was a knock. All Might poked his head in. "Sorry, but Aziawa wants you to– oh." He saw them hugging. Bakugo jumped back, and Tokoyami scrubbed his eyes furiously, trying to stem the tear flow.
All Might stood back. "Aziawa, what do I do?" He whispered nervously to the man standing at the door, fuming. "Kick them out, fucking—" he looked in and saw the mess. "Oh." The kids were still kicked out, but no one got in trouble for staying up as late as it was.
The next morning, Tokoyami walked downstairs. He had had a nightmare after the fiasco that was band practice, and instinctively was heading for the closet. He approached the door, and someone blocked him. "Sorry, could I just—" He looked up. "Oh, Bakugo. What—"
Bakugo grabbed his wrist and dragged him towards the bathroom. "Wait, wha– Bakugo, where are we going?!" Bakugo dragged Tokoyami through the common room, and everyone was confused as to what was happening. Kirishima was going to step in, but Denki stopped him, and turned the conversation away from the two.
Bakugo brought them into the bathroom and splashed water on Tokoyami's face. "Wha—?!" Bakugo snapped at him to shut up. "You look like you havent slept, and you were heading for the closet." He muttered. Tokoyami tilted his head, confused. "You always do that after a bad night, right? I didnt know why till last night."
Oh. Right. Tokoyami had completely forgotten he'd said all that. Bakugo continued. "Well, your not doing that shit anymore. You're gonna be a fucking hero, and your stupid dad can shove it." He shouted, gaining the attention of those outside.
"Why's Bakugo yelling at Tokoyami?" Mina asked, spoon still in her mouth. "He better not be starting a fight!" Iida chided loudly. Yaomomo laughed. "Tokoyami looked tired, it must be about that." She said, knowing damn well that wasnt the problem. She, Jirou and Deni had seen their friend going for the closet. They were all grateful to Bakugo for pulling up on it.
They all noticed it. Bakugo was still an ass, but stopped calling Denki stupid, or any variation of the word. He instead told him he 'didnt do as bad a job' and pat his shoulder. Denki's self esteem rocketed upwards quickly. Bakugo thanked Yaomomo more often for using her quirk, and drank her tea when no one else would. Jirou wasnt excluded either, Bakugo got her water after every practice and told her that her music was cool. And everytime Tokoyami seemed too distant for Bakugo's liking, he pulled the bird-headed teen away from the crowd for a little while.
Bakugo did little things to help them. Like staying up to help Tokoyami through another nightmare, or take care of Denki when his brain fried. Small things that meant the world to the rest of the band.
And they returned the gestures, Denki always plugging in the extra controller even though Bakugo said no. Or Yaomomo making a note of what tea Bakugo liked and making it for him on a bad day. Jirou giving him headphones when the noise was too much, and Tokoyami letting Bakugo have one of his extra fluffy blankets whenever he'd have a bad night.
They all helped each other on their own ways. Aziawa noticed, obviously, but found it sweet. Those kids needed each other. Hell, there would come a time when they may have to depend on the other. And Aziawa knew well enough there would be times they would break.
He was glad to know they had each others back.
This one was short and sweet, hope you enjoyed! :D
