I have figured out what Most of the pokemon evolved from! It only took uh, lemme look at a clock, a week or three!

For those not interested in clicking a link, it's a pokemon/dc crossover but pokemon is straight up just a Gotham thing. Like, the flora and fauna and everything else have become corrupted/ mutated/ adapted, etc into strange creatures with stranger abilities thanks to the chemicals, magic, death pits, curses, and everything else all mixing together.

I'd like to start off by thanking you for taking the time to take a wander through my life's work.

That said, allow me to formally invite you to the experience that is my clusterfuck of a comprehensive Pokemon Field Guide~

My name is Marrow A. Honeysuckle, and I am a Field Researcher who specializes in any and all variations from standard Pokemon phenotypes. I am in the process of creating an illustrated guide of the multitudes of different variants one may encounter across the World of Pokemon.

My main focuses are on the more obscure alternate appearances Pokemon may exhibit. Right now I've been really interested in the phenomena of Ability Forms, where a Pokemon's appearance is effected by their natural ability, as well as documenting the various unique differences in Pokemon such as those classed as subspecies.

This blog will serve as my digital archive for whatever observations, illustrations and experiences I may gather, create and encounter on my journey.

Name's Marrow, sometimes they call me Field Researcher Honeysuckle. Who's "they"? fuck if I know lol

I use any and all pronouns: with Masculine, Neos/Neutral, and then Feminine being in order of preference from most to least frequent

I'm 27 and grew up in Kalos, I got my starter around the same time I started working under Prof Sycamore in my mid-teens

The last several years of my life have been spent in Galar, interspersed with trips back to Kalos for shit like conferences and whatnot.

I'm currently in transit to Paldea I have arrived in Paldea after I received some forwarded correspondence the Prof Sycamore accepted for me from a Professor by the name of Sada. he apparently got it[and accepted it on my behalf] like 6 months ago and hadn't gotten around to sending it to me till last week BUT WHATEVER I GUESS

Luckily I was able to stop by my partner's place[aka, home sweet home] since I pass through Kalos on the way. Which meant I could see them for a sweet little rendezvous and drop off some of the Pokemon I gathered during my time in Galar.

I also carry with me an orphaned forever-Snom whom I've named Girasol. He doesn't fight and prefers to ride on my head so I don't count him in my party

I've been told there is a 'mon waiting for me when I arrive in Paldea. They said her variation and appearance has made it difficult for them to adopt her out as it "gives the new trainers 'bad vibes' despite her rarity". They have refused to give me more info. So that's great. I have collected the 'mon. She is an adorable, mostly blind, super fluffy Sprigatito with an un-identified variant subtype.

Just a bit more about me:

I'm a mostly nocturnal bitch, the sun bothers my eyes[and the insane insomnia doesn't help my case lol] and I'm a nomadic researcher by nature.

If you stumble across me in the field during mid-day I'm more than likely to be piled up sleeping with my Pokemon, usually without even a shelter to cover me. I don't mind being in towns/cities but I'm always [just passing through] usually I'm just stocking up on supplies or delivering something for whatever reason

Oh! And I like sweets. But the more "light" ones, not the "heavy" rich ones. Think sweet lemon over chocolate mousse

This is a slice-of-life AU where Liko and Chloe travel together to discover their dreams and taking care of the feelings of the Pokemon they meet.

Chloe's pokemon:

-Yamper. He is very loyal to her, to the point he only eats the food given by her. When Chloe expressed the wish to travel alone, her father gave it to her.

-Eevee. Represents Chloe's infinite possibilities. This Eevee can copy other Pokemon's moves and it's able to Gmax and being still able to evolve.

-Ponyta. Met in Glimwood Tangle.

Liko's pokemon:

-Sprigatito. was the first pokemon given to her in the Indigo Academy. She is usually seen outside the pokeball. -Terapagos. A mysterious pokemon whose past is unknown. Its dormant state was in a pendant Liko got from her grandmother.

-Hatenna. Can pick up the emotions of both people and Pokémon. Very shy, likes to stay into Liko's hood.

Okay so lore time:

Visions = Pokéballs

Archons and other ancient beings, depending on their stories - some of them (at least Venti and Zhongli) - were “Divine” Pokémon that took on human forms once their species died out and now can train Pokémon like regular people 

Unlike other regions where Pokéballs are all over the place, Teyvat only has “Vision Balls” which are gifted to people by the Divine Seven. It’s tricky to explain, but trainers whose Pokémon use Vision Balls can power-up their partners further than just their Pokemon traveling around by their sides 

But because training Pokémon like this was invented by the Divine Seven in this region, the Raiden Shogun is seizing all Pokéballs from her area of jurisdiction so that no trainer may become as powerful as she, the Divine Gym Leader

Of course, other people can have Pokémon without Vision Balls, but those who have been gifted Pokéballs are said to be the most powerful trainers in the region

And then there’s the Traveler who can use the effects of a Vision Ball, but without one

Delusions could be like artificial Vision Balls that boost Pokémons’ abilities a fuck ton, but at the expense of their energy and potentially life force

Vision Balls boost the bond between trainer and Pokémon, Delusions exploit this

I’ve planned that the Abyss Order is corrupting Pokémon across the region using psychic type moves for their own purposes

Teyvat as a region is a giant melting pot of different Pokémon

The Fatui want to bring glory to the Ice Gym, the Abyss Order wants to restore their lost power

And Dainsleif was cursed when the Divine Seven had Khaenri’ah destroyed, just like Genshin lore

My honest review for Pokémon Horizons (without watching it...)

Since it's the newest generation of the Pokémon Anime, I'll watch that episode later, but here is my honest review of this episode WITHOUT watching it:

So we begin with Liko going to school with a bus. Then she meets a student with a fang. But I didn't except that the starters are random rather than By Gen. The student gets Oshawott and Liko Sprigatito, which is bored asf.

But the student telling haven't you heard of Pawmi surprised me. I didn't except why she have to said that. Anyways, they fight, Liko draws and they slept.

Liko wakes up and have an adventure of her own. Then that guy fights with another guy's Cerulege (idk their names yet, sorry...😔😔). And yeah, Pawmi & Fuecoco was UNEXPECTED... It's like making another relationship rather than Quaxly, and with Sprig and Rockruff it reminded me of Eevee, Pikachu, Yamper and Sobble...

Quaxly was just... Ok... I don't have any opinion on this duck

I'll watch it later because I don't have Nord VPN and do a better review ok? C'ya!!😄😄

I have been figuring out how pokemon essentials works by recreating Kanto (I'm in the process for that, but the things left are the events and I can't do a lot of them if I want to do something different to the original story, as is the case), and I got the idea to choose pokemon at random and change the original story to fit the new pokedex, but if it was completely random I could end up with no starters or legendaries, so I decided to use the original kanto dex to create categories and put every pokemon after that in the one that fits it better. There are no problems classifying starters, mythicals, legendaries and pseudos, but the rest are more difficult. I decided some because it made sense, some because they had similar vibes and some because of a mix of both. The problem is that it's easy to forget a category and put one in other that fit's it less, so I'll show you my draft so you can judge me.

(I will add more pokemon than the ones that this says if it makes sense, like more ghosts so pokemon tower doesn't feel too monotone. The ones with a / between them go together, I will probably not add regional variants, and joltik is with the pikachus because I say so. Also, there aren't a lot a single stage evolutions in gen 1, so all of the ones that don't fit are in the closest thing because it's hard to match the number of evolutions and the types.)

And Bow Kid's is Skitty, Espurr, Sprigatito, and Alolan Meowth

All baby pokemon, all absolute powerhouses that can and will fuck you up if you let your guard down. They're both strong and capable trainers, but Bow likes to focus more on her contest career, while Hat Kid likes collecting badges and league battles

So like hat kid were a trainer she'd have an eevee and bow would have a skitty, right? Like, we've all agreed on that?

New pokemon coming up in Scarlet and Violet and my thoughts on them. TDLR; they're all hits for me.

Sprigatito, we've all seen him! Literally so cute, you can't fuck up a cat pokemon

Fuecoco is so cute and doofy. A great spiritual successor to totodile honestly, I love these guys so much. The middle and final evos will decide for me whether I get him or sprigatito.

Quaxly isn't a favorite because I don't really like pokemon that look like they're wearing clothes and the feathers on his head look like a Waluigi cap to me. BUT he is still pretty cute, I wouldn't be sad about having him on my team.

Koraidon, tbh, at first I wasn't thrilled with the legendary designs, but they've really grown on me! I know the motorcycle thing is kinda goofy but that's fine. I don't mind a little goofiness in a game made for children tbqh. Koraidon's head design is VERY nice tbh

Miraidon, I like his vibe tbqh. Nintendo loves airplane looking pokemon??? It's funny. The engine legs ruin it a little bit for me, I think it'd actually be really sick if Miraidon was a serpent, you know? Top half is good tho, no notes.

Armarouge, this is my first time seeing this guy. I like him! I like the hair-made-out-of-fire thing he's got going on with the top of his head, it's always a very good design thing to me. Not that I know much about design, but I vibe with it anyway! Mask is very nice too. Ik I said I don't like pokemon that look like they're wearing clothes but I think because Armarouge is so humanoid it gets past that for me.

Ceruledge's design fucking SLAPS. Dual arm swords are SO good and the blue fire hair, MWAH! Looks like a playable character in a fighting RPG and I would choose him in a heartbeat. A very good counterpart to Armarouge and honestly the better one for me.

Cetitan, LOOK at him! He's such a huge boy, a great boy, I love him!!! His mouth has such a fucked up shape but I literally love him for that.

Cyclizar, I'm going to cry, look at him. I do wish he didn't have the wheel neck pouch and just a normal looking one and then he'd be perfect for me, but over all! Very cute. A little goofy, but it's ok.

Fidough, absolutely NO NOTES. Such a cutie. A little close to yamper because of the color, but not bad. I love fairy types. I want to gnaw on his doughy ears.

Grafaiai, based of the Aye-aye, going off the name? Yes looks like so, anyway, I love him! Cute little gremlin design, very very nice.

Klawf, oh my GOD Klawf. He's such a weirdo. I don't want him on my team but I can appreciate a doofy design.

Lechonk, perfect, beautiful pokemon that's prolly gonna evolve into one of those absolute units. As soon as I get the game, I'm gonna form a party of 6 with little names like "Chonkers" and "Lil Chonks" and "Babe".

Paldean Wooper, just look at him! Cute as wooper already is, not much to say. I like him a lot.

Pawmi, the pika-cousin of the Paldea region. Tbh I love all the pika-cousins, they're very cute and very friend-shaped. Pawmi is no exception.

Smoliv, perfect, no notes. I'll take 20. Did you know that Spain produces almost half of the world's olive oil?

Wiglett, I love for his shape AND for what he represents. At first he looks like a regional diglett form, but actually he's a completely separate species, so I really enjoy the implications for pokemon adaptation and the nods to real-life evolution, how sometimes animals form similar characteristics even though they're completely unrelated, and sometimes when animals are separated for long enough, they change into completely different species. Wiglett is a LITTLE unnerving the way he stretches out of the ground but, since he's based off a garden eel, if you look at pictures of those things, they're ALSO a little unnerving actually. I love him. I want to kiss his smooth head.

Chloe realizes that she changed a lot from the day she found an injured Ash on the stairs and Goh found a new friend.

She is secretly grateful to them and to all of the other people she met, who improved her life and her view of the strange creatures who live in her world.

She came to know of a lot of careers including them, like battler, catcher, coordinator, gym leader and go on. But also the not pokemon related ones.

She has on her side the loyality of her Yamper (her father gave her him) the cheerfulness of her Eevee and the mysterious Ponyta who visits sometimes.

She has also a shared Pokemon with Mika, Clefairy (named Sakura after her), and befriended Alcremie and Cherrim,along with other Mika's pokemon.

But her heart asks for more, there are still more things to discover in this vast world.

For her 11 birthday, something new finally happened.

After her mom noticed her talent of taking good photos with her phone, gives her a camera,asking her if she wants to do it as a hobby. No worry about the future, not a definitive goal, just a hobby for the present.

The same day a mysterious egg came in the Professor Cerise's lab. He explain that it came from another region and is a gift from a professor who lives here.

Ash and Goh suggest that Chloe is ready to take care of it, like they did with Riolu's one (here the egg chronicles are canon). Yamper and Eevee are curious of what will be and they take turns to watch over the egg.

Between school, fossil studying and thinking about possible goals (present, past and future) Chloe came to accept herself and that, even if her friends will have different careers and will be distant, they will still be here for her.

Mika visits her more frequently, to study together and also because of curiosity, and wanting to be friend of the new pokemon too.

Mika's mother finally accepted her love for pokemon and let her keep Pichu, who evolved, and Clefairy, but she has to do well at school. Also she doesn't have the financial possibility of catching them all, so she has just to befriend them.

The mysterious egg finally hatched and a little, green kitten was born. Its name is Sprigatito.

The girl became curious about the region it came from and what if she wants to visit it?

What other adventures will call her there?
