listen I don't disagree with "if something is upsetting/triggering you you're allowed to stop reading it" but everyone immediately making 3000 posts like that any time something bad happens when no one is even saying "Hey you should read this and educate yourself about whats happening" it comes off as.. Your Feelings Hearing About It Are More Important Than The Lives Of The People Who Actually Experienced It

TW: General idiocy, mentions of racism
Tumblr media
Just because you take publicly posted things too personally does not mean you can judge an entire person based off a FICTIONAL story. And it does not mean you can speak over the voice of a person of color (aka me and NUMEROUS other POCs who support M). It's a little hypocritical to say our words aren't valid because they aren't your experience, don't you think?
Perhaps you're not aware because you have either blocked or been blocked, hence your lack of tag, but they have apologized and are editing the "controversial" scene.
In all seriousness (though it is hard for me to take this ask seriously) I guess I can kind of see why the scene could have rubbed some people the wrong way. However:
1) What does dogpiling accomplish other than drive someone further against whatever point you're trying to make? Other than making you pat yourself on the back for being a "better person".
2) "White people shouldn't speak about experiences they will never have..." um... why are you in a fanFICTION community about kpop idols who have no idea who the fuck any of us are?
Literally all any of us can do is try our best and I still don't get why people are raising these giant pitchforks for such a tiny, subjective strand of hay. Judging by the similarity of your writing style with numerous tea blog posts and the ask you also sent @sailoryooons this morning, you don't actually care about racism or educating a well-intentioned but ignorant person. You have some weird vendetta against M you can't let go of.
If you ever experienced actual hardship this situation is likely something you wouldn't spend so much time hyperfixating on because real life is a thing. If you have the time and energy for this, then check your own privilege dude. Holy shit.

I do not have the energy or care to spend any more thoughts about the CK situation but there's something that has been bothering me. I wish to start off that I do not support Tom, I haven't supported him for quite awhile before this happened because of other actions he did. However, even though I do not like Tom, I do not approve of people sending him death threats and causing him to leave. Do I think some of the things he said were shitty? Absolutely! Especially the stuff about racism and his hispanic/latinx ocs that are walking stereotypes! Do I think people should have gone to the extent they did to harass him? Fuck no. Goodness, we are a community, for the most part, of adults. Start acting like it, and if it truly bothered you so bad then just block his account and tags (when he was here)
As a POC, it's really bothered me that people have glossed over the things like how uncomfortable his only two hispanic/latinx character's were very fetishy and becoming insulting stereotypes but at the end of the day what can I do? Oh right, move on from it because there are other important daily life things to worry about than random people on the internet that have no direct contact to me and don't interfere with my real world life. Does it suck? Yes. Should I spend every waking breath breathing into my mic raging? No. I just can't fantom this behavior from either side, this isn't pointed at one side by the way, its at both because I quite frankly think people on both sides are acting ridiculously to internet drama we should be moving on from/shouldn't have let it come to this. That's all, I'm quite frankly tired of it because it does suck but it's a tumblr fandom, I have to keep reminding myself it's always been like this since joining this website 9 years ago it'll end up falling into the toxic internet culture bag. By the way, congrats on figuring yourself out with genderfluidity!
Anon...... I love you, take this ✨️👑✨️
In all seriousness, I have a high HIGH respect for you, and thank you for taking the time to do this. I completely agree and understand where you are coming from! I still stand by saying that this all should have just been handled privately, not just from the person who made the post but Tom as well. Like you said, we are all adults here, and this was all just the wrong way to handle this situation. We are all adults and this is one of those times that should have been handled privately first instead of out in the open where some people didn't even take the time to read the posts from both sides and just took the chance to threaten and harrass the opposite side. (Idc if you agree or not with someone, harassment is never okay and I'm sorry if you dealt with any of that anon) It's going too far at this point and just tiring to see both sides threaten one another over this. This happens. It's life, and people move on. As someone that I have talked to on here said, people mess up and make bad decisions. It happens and it's life. If you aren't happy or comfortable, then no one is stopping you from leaving. Your comfort is a top priority, and it's the internet. If you don't like something, then block or leave it. You, my dear anon, have said it so well that I don't even know what to add! UwU
As for the racism part of Tom's post(s), that was one of the things I did not agree on. I didn't take it personally(I am a white as fuck irish person who has only heard the "Lol alcoholic potato" jokes)and I can't even imagine how some people felt. I feel like I have no place to comment on it because I don't want to act like I know how it feels. It wasn't okay, in my opinion, and besides saying that I didn't agree with that, and it was upsetting to read. I wish I could add more, but you seriously said it a lot better! TwT
(I genuinely wish I could add more, but holy shit did you make such a beautiful and inspiring post, Anon! ^^ Thank you for taking the time to send me this, and I hope you have a wonderful stay here, we love and appreciate everyone here, my friend, SO YOU BETTER ACCEPT IT!!! ❤️ >:0)
(P.s. Thank you so much!!! Also, you dropped this ✨️👑✨️)

#someone PLEASE make an addition explaining all these (via @corvoattanobignaturals)
#if someone would give me a list of all of these i would love that tho lol (via @drum-bot-brian)
Okay, here it goes, links are in bold and colored, putting it all under a cut because it is long. CW for racism, transphobia, and incest.
the one who deactivated and gave up spn because they became catholic: this is former spn blogger carrotfricker. they made all sorts of cool graphics, then got religion and left the fandom. They still have a main blog where all they post is nature art. general fandom consensus is that it was catholicism that did them in, but all I can find in the archived pages is references to an unspecified branch of christianity. maybe some other people who followed them more closely know for sure it was catholicism though.
Wincest Nancy: nancylou444. one of the the ringleaders of a particularly annoying group of wincesties. if you're on here long enough without blocking her she WILL appear in your notes unless you block her, i haven't done that because i think it's honestly kind of funny and i like complaining
the one who deactivated after writing a "diverse spn fic" that was just racist: princesshamlet, who decided to make supernatural suck less by turning everybody into different minorities whether they knew what they were doing or not. In their own words, they were "a white person writing nonwhite characters who has spoken to people of the identities they want to represent". And by "spoken to" they meant they used POC for ideas and information, didn't give them anything in return for their time and energy, and also didn't even listen to them most times. Not going into detail because it really doesn't need to be spread around again but basically everything they put in this fic was heinously racist, homo/transphobic, and misogynistic on the same level with the original show or worse. And apart from the racism, they were also just a really bad writer. After getting called out by fans of color on their racism they did not apologize or delete but tried to defend what they did in various ways. Like saying that other fans of color had told them what they wrote was fine, or bringing up that they're a jewish lesbian, or trying to claim that they were third culture. The "#down with big ph" tag became a thing since it was really clear they weren't sorry and had no intention of even trying to make up for what they did. Eventually they did give up on being defensive, deleted the fic and apologized multiple times badly, then deactivated. For awhile someone had claimed the blog url and turned it into this
Tumblr media
but now it looks to be completely abandoned. rest in pieces princesshamlet, you sucked and nobody misses you. Sidenote: If you're reading this and going wow that's fucked up fans of color shouldn't have to deal with this kind of thing, consider finding a POC's gofundme to donate to.
everyone involved with the "spirit of steve yockey" incident: oh good, i get to show you all my favorite video on the youtube. welcome to spn tumblr 2021 by jimmycoded
the one who wrote the "jared padalecki is a physical and sexual behemoth" post: Former j2/wincest blogger go-diane-winchester. This is the person behind banger posts such as "hellers have so many different ship names because they're a psychotic cult" and "misha collins is a scam artist who chose his name because it is gender confusing and he wants to use that to tap into the liberal community" but mostly for this post. I think they did have some valid points about misha collins acting way more progressive than he is but it's really undercut by the fact they think j2 is better than him and that they use their bachelor degree knowledge to write sentences like "He can barely top his wife, let alone Jensen Ackles."
whoever sent me an anon ask saying they want to fuck eric kripke: if you hang around the spn fandom long enough people will start sending you asks about how hot they find the creator of spn. or at least they will if you're me. i love the fact that someone looked at my blog and went "yeah she'll appreciate this, this is a safe space to admit i want eric kripke carnally." if you guy ever want to tell me things like that on anon go ahead, the worst that's gonna happen is i put you in a poll like this.
the prolifer who wrote fic where the winchesters homeschool jack*: prolifejackkline. a christian (protestant) prolifer who was in the spn fandom, they're still around but under a new url and they don't really blog about spn anymore, but like a true protestant they did discover zionism though. at some point they were writing a fic where the winchesters homeschool jack, i believe it was also a baby!jack fic. I know this existed and several other people have said they remember it too but i can't find it anywhere online so it may have been deleted.
'*i have searched and searched for this fic and cannot find it anywhere, they may have deleted it but i DO remember it existing

have you gotten into 911 fandom/fanfic yet, or are you going to absorb the show fully first?
I wanted to catch up before I started following the tags and reblogging gifsets
I don't think I'll read many if any fics because I just don't read fics often
Because if I wanna read something I'll just write it myself
As far as fandom goes I'm back in my anti-fandom phase just because the Criminal Minds fandom made me want to shoot myself in the past few months and I've blocked so many former mutuals
And a show like 911 with POC characters I doubt this fandom is gonna be any better
People just keep resorting to racism and not even in the blatant saying a slur way
Just microagressions
A lot of people who don't understand what they are saying is racist so I know they're not malicious but I just don't have the fucking energy
And I never get taken seriously because I'm white passing so I stopped fighting anyway and just started blocking
If I have to see anymore discourse where someone says non-white instead of POC I will start cutting people and go to jail
SO
I'm just gonna reblog gifs and clips
And share my thoughts
But I won't interact with other blogs unless I get asks
I have a few scenes of a Chimney fic in my phone
I have ideas for a Buck/Eddie fic
But we'll see if inspiration lasts

#DARKLYPSE - an independent, highly selective & plot - driven multi for characters from the last of us. twenty1+ only. BY BRI, 26, SHE/HER.
Tumblr media
muse list › tess servopoulos › general multi › van palmer
all muses featured are heavily headcanon based while aligning specifically with game canon events. only minor influences from hbo's adaption will appear. * this blog is trigger heavy, dealing with gore, death, crime, and the nitty gritty of living in a world turned wasteland. all triggers will be tagged in the following format: tw / although i ask if any of these make you uncomfortable on the whole then please do not follow. it is also fair to note that this blog is low activity and extremely plot - driven.
GENERAL RULES -
001. i do not claim the rights to any media found on this blog. i am not apart of naughty dog nor do i have any hand in the creation of these characters on the whole. what i do take pride in, however, are my portrayals therefore i'm making it known that i do not tolerate stealing of any kind. while i don't think i'll have an issue with this — i have in the past so i like to get it out of the way. if you do steal from me, i'll approach privately.
002. i do not follow everyone back. i've been on tumblr for many years now and have learned how best to curate a space for myself that i am happy to be in. it would be a disservice not only to myself but to everyone if i acted as though i could keep up with a quick moving dash by interacting with every single person. for the most part, i tend to follow people back within twenty four hours if i can see us writing together. otherwise i do make sure to softblock unless rules state you'd prefer to be hardblocked to avoid confusion.
003. if you support or condone racism, homophobia, transphobia, white-washing, suicide baiting, bullying or bigotry of any kind i will immediately block you. this also goes for zionists. we have nothing in common and i do not want that energy in my space. this is your one and only warning.
004. in terms of callout culture: i do not partake in it just for the sake of it. i typically do not reblog or engage with callout posts, but if someone is actively harmful to the community as a whole then of course that's different. i'm not interested in watching anyone to try to chase somebody out of a community simply because they don't like them. i am an adult with a mind of her own who can make decisions for herself. just because i don't interact doesn't mean i don't see it nor does it mean i'm supporting or not supporting it.
005. to reiterate my blog-view intro as well as the above: this blog is plot-driven. it's less of a suggestion and more of a hey, if we're going to be mutuals, you need to know that i am going to approach you to plot at some point. i do not follow people who i do not wish to interact with. i'm somebody who enjoys getting the ball rolling. whether this plotting is getting in deep on the in's and out's of a thread or just laying out a general dynamic for our muses and where + how they interact — i am open to either or. but there needs to be some form of communication, especially if we are going to have multiple threads. i will always respond to random starter calls and i may even drop a meme response without any plotting but just be aware that it's coming. this is becoming a pretty non-negotiable thing for me. i'm willing to do the work, so, if you follow me i am taking it that you are also willing. 50/50 effort, but 100% pay off for writing fun we will both enjoy.
006. lastly, if you're here because you want to blow steam up n*il dr*ckm*n or tr*y b*ker's ass then let me break it to you now: this is not the place for you.

to clarify for new moots:
i'm neurodivergent, i have severe adhd and we're checking out the possibility of me being autistic as well (we think i am)
i am not white, i'm indigenous, and i will call you out if you call someone chief or use "savage" in a derogatory manner
i use they/he pronouns, but don't mind any pronouns really. just avoid calling me she/her and it/its, those make me uncomfortable.
i am a little. this means i age regress sometimes. if you don't like that, that's really not my problem. it's nonsexual and it's a coping mechanism i picked up, it is what it is.
i don't like drama, keep it away from me, but i also will get involved if i need to
i'm a gemini, i don't apologize for this, it's weird to hate someone for their zodiac sign.
i'm agnostic/possibly atheist, i'm still trying to figure it out.
i'm a witch, i like crystals and sigils and that type of thing.
i don't tolerate any form of hate or weird behavior on my page. racism, transphobia, homophobia, p*dophilia, etc.
i'm pretty chill once you get to know me
if you make me uncomfortable at any point i might not respond to you often
if i don't have energy, i probably won't respond to you at all until my energy is back
i have someone i am interested in and involved with, if you hurt or harm her, you are automatically on my bad side
i am unironically a little yandere. i know it's weird or whatever but it comes from having attachment issues and a lot of trauma and neglect. i don't really apologize for this.
do not talk shit about me, i always tend to find out, i'm a very highly intelligent person when it comes to intuition and i tend to piece things together, and i also have a lot of friends and connections. i really don't want to sound cocky or pretentious, but pretty much all my close friends and people who know me irl can tell you that i'm very intuitive
ageless/blank/bot/spam blogs are blocked on sight and i don't apologize for that
i'm a writer
i'm also a musician
i have a lot of random interests
i don't respond to yelling or sarcasm well, i have anger issues and i get aggressive if you start getting aggressive with me. i may not start the fight but i will indeed finish it.
i might sound cold or scary, but i really am a big fluff ball at the end of the day. i'm really kind to those who are equally as kind to me or reciprocate my energy :)
also i use :) and :)) a lot, they're not meant to be intimidating— consider them a /pos or /gen, or occasionally i use them for sarcasm, but it's usually pretty obvious when i'm being sarcastic
if you're under 18, block this tag:
pengu — hard thoughts
this is all i can think of rn but yeah

To the person who sent me an extremely vitriolic ask this morning: I wasn't making JKR's transphobia into a whataboutism. The fact is that nearly every form of popular entertainment has some kind of inherent violence against BIPOC. While it's good and right to point it out as it happens and ask people not to line the pockets of people who do direct harm to our communities, and feel angry and unsafe around people who engage with that media anyway, those feelings aren't an accurate metric to judge their moral character or whether they care at all about us. It's unreasonable to demand that everyone prove they care by stopping engaging with it at all, to send hate to and ostracize anyone who likes it wholesale and decide that liking that media individually does direct harm to us. Most older BIPOC understand this, because if we refused any form of popular culture mired in casual racism, white supremacy or propaganda for institutions that harm us, we wouldn't be able to enjoy 98% of all popular entertainment, and would also hyper-police each other into oblivion. It's simply not fair to call anyone who likes cop shows or music or Lord of the Rings, Narnia, The Mummy, Indiana Jones racist and complicit in violence towards us, and not fair to our own people, who should be allowed the agency to enjoy the same things white people do. It's also the opposite of helpful in addressing the actual systems underpinning those forms of media and their appeal, and making people aware of them while we continue to enjoy them. Still, this takes a heavy psychological toll on BIPOC over time, to constantly have to tolerate it, to internalize that we will always be valued less, to minimize ourselves and manage our own sadness and justified anger. To accept the fact that popular entertainment will always be a mechanism to empower the institutions that level violence against us. It's the inescapable trauma of systemic oppression, and there are no easy fixes to solve it. I hope you can understand then, how BIPOC feel when you demand that we stop engaging with Harry Potter at all if we care about trans people (yes, even if you yourself are BIPOC). Especially trans people of colour who grew up with HP and can't leave behind the world that helped them escape their childhoods. People can't simply just sever emotional connections that way; it's not how hearts and minds work. And it's deeply unkind to mire them in guilt for having those connections and wanting to share and pass down that part of themselves. It's also very concerning when this kind of anger empowers racists who use it as an excuse to go after us. Being minorities makes us extra vulnerable to this kind of hate and policing. And even if someone is white, they shouldn't have to endure paralyzing guilt for loving what they do. Guilt is the absolute enemy of constructive change; it begets self-hate, defensive anger, paralysis, hyper-awareness - all emotions that keeps you absorbed in your own mental state rather than focusing your energies outward to what minorities actually need from you. Especially in the current climate, where well-intentioned kids of every colour start out absolutely traumatized by being made to think that liking the wrong things or the wrong way makes you a bad person. The first step of any kind of activism must be the learning how to listen to anger without seeing it as blame, and this kind of absolutism makes that even harder. You're allowed to be angry, to blacklist tags and block people and give them wide berth. But that doesn't divorce you of the responsibility to be aware of the harm you can cause through this kind of anger, including to your own. Just as everyone else gets to love something and indulge in it, but it doesn't excempt them from the responsibility of critiquing it and any minimizing harm by engaging with it. Lastly, performative justice is weaponized justice. Just as corporations slapping on a rainbow flag every June is just white liberal exploitation and deflection from taking initiative for real change, demanding that everyone who shares
your ideals conform to your wishes is literally fundamentalism, whose
leftist iteration is radical feminism. Fundamentalism isn't real resistance or reform; it's creating a fear of out-groups, casting people as undersirables and social pathology responsible for our oppression and trauma, instead of systems that we are all complicit in propping up because they're so deeply embedded in our lives. Fundamentalism is only interested in circling wagons around and isolating minorities from the rest of the world, and then using that isolationism to build a power base through the threat of exclusion and intra-community violence. It pits minorities against each other and encourages horizontal oppression. It's not resistance to white supremacy, it's a cog in the wheel of the status quo.
Now I know you aren't going to read all of that. You're not interested in my positions or explanations, to you I'm just a JKR apologist and transphobe who uses my own oppression as a racial minority against you. But I like to think that maybe there's an off-chance you might, once that anger has simmered down. Or maybe this post will just stoke it back to a boil, I don't know.
What I will tell you is this - I'm not upset or angry at your ask. I am sincerely sympathetic. I can't imagine how cornered and unsafe and unheard you must feel to be angry enough to send it. I know that anger, I have felt it myself many many times, I know how it feels to have to carry that within you with no place to put it, to be afraid of losing it because it feels like the only thing that makes you strong even while it burns you from the inside out.
So listen. If nobody else in the world will care about you, you need to care about you more than anyone else will. You're hurting more right now than your anger could ever hurt me, for far longer. Definitely more than JKR or her supporters ever will. That's fucked up. Don't make your sense of peace and safety incumbent on the opinions of people you can't hope to change. You deserve kindness, you deserve peace, you deserve happiness. The world is very ugly, but it's also full of good things. You deserve not to miss out on them.
Take care. Love and peace.

Tags list:
#important tag (for information posts)
#always reblogg (for support posts)
#signal boost (self explanatory)
(i also have tags for other peoples art, writing, cosplay etc. and tags for animals and trigger warnings/content warnings but theres a lot so i wont list em)
note i dont always have the energy to tag everything so if i dont tag something important that fits the bill for the tags above, its not because it isn't important/good enough! i just dont always have the energy to do so ;w; but if i dont forget, ill try and go back to the posts to add the tag later!
small disclaimer but i tend to hyperfixate on problematic media but i know how to not support people and content that have these issues, and i know how to seperate the art from the artist/the persona from the person etc.. ive just accepted at this point that nothing is pure and that I'll try to avoid the worst stuff ;w;
if youre unccomfortable with anything i seem interested in because of this, dont feel bad about unfollowing and/or blocking me! take care of yourself first and foremost, you deserve to feel comfortable in your own space.
(that being said please dont judge me poorly when you do so ;w; my anxiety over these things is incredibly debilitating and genuinely makes my mental health spiral- but im working on it)
Please Do Not Interact if you perpetrate, defend or support:
"M4P/NOM4P"s (p3dophilia)
z0ophilia

1ncest
rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse
other forms of assault and abuse
animal abuse (this includes P3TA)
anti v4x
pro l1fe
homophobia, transphobia, queerphobia in general
cringe culture
DNI (unless you're ok with having a chill and healthy debate**)
exclusionists (this means aphobia, if youre against he/him lesbians and she/her gays, if you're against bi/pan lesbians and bi/pan gays and if youre against mogai/neopronouns/neogenders)
trumeds
anti-kin/anti-therian
ableist
against self dx'ing (of course please take care and be sure to heavily research depending on the diagnosis but otherwise I'll usually assume you have and/or won't really be bothered either way)
pro ship (im not an anti shipper cuz i find the debate pointless, but i trust anti shippers a little more than pro shippers)
singlets or systems that are really big into endo syscourse. Most of my other system members and I believe in "you do you, just try to be nice to people and please be respectful of traumagenic systems if you're endo". That's about it
*if youre a t3rf or a t3hm i AM willing to have a conversation about the unethical nature of trans exclusion, but (as stated below) i may not respond if you're rude or if im too tired
**if you're rude or I'm too tired don't expect me to respond
Also just an fyi I probably don't have everything on these lists so im sorry if i missed anything!
and if you catch me perpetrating anything on this list it's definitely an accident due to ignorance; I'm nowhere near perfect so please let me know if it seems like i messed up! I'll be sure to look into it when I can.
That's pretty much it! Sorry for the long pinned post but yeah, enjoy my blog i guess :'D

- various thoughts that enter my brain (tagged charlie.txt)
i try and trigger tag anything obvious, such as violence (especially towards minorities and marginalised groups), mental health issues, and other topics many people find triggering, but if i haven't tagged something that you need tagged just ask me and i'll see what i can do.
if you ever want to message me, please do! but please understand that due to unmanaged adhd and general personality things, i can come off as aggressive or cold over messages. if i do, dont be afraid to ask for clarification - 99% of the time, im not actually angry! it's just very difficult for me to express myself over text.
lastly, if you ever see me post or reblog something you find troubling or offensive, feel free to tell me - i was raised in a very conservative/right-leaning household, and it has been a long road to get out of it and im aware that i make mistakes. i am always willing o humble myself and learn. however - if you don't have the time or energy to educate me, do not ever hesitate to unfollow or block. it isn't your job to teach me to become a better person - it's mine.

I guess this is technically a callout post but none of this is new stuff, it’s stuff that’s already featured on my blog that I’m just collating together and explaining. I am not doing this to try and stir up drama or expose this person or bring them down or whatever. I’m just tired of myself and other poc getting told we’re overreacting or deluded or reaching when we call someone out on their shit and so I wanted to make an actual record of the reasons why I am against this person that I & others can can direct people to rather than having to repeatedly explain ourselves. If you read this and still decide that we’re wrong and overreacting then feel free to unfollow/block me.
@/ayeforscotland brands himself as a progressive left leaning “woke” person but fundamentally the thing he really cares about most is Scottish independence, and he weaponises progressive causes to support his own agenda. He has a long history of downplaying racism in Scotland and Scotland’s own imperialist history. He has somewhat changed after being called out for doing these things on several occasions but instead of recognising that he was wrong in the past and only changed his tune when people called him out, he lies and pretends that he never tried to whitewash Scotland at all even when there is obvious evidence to the contrary. (I don’t have more specific sources on his downplaying racism in Scotland/whitewashing it’s colonial history but poc on here have been talking about it for a while so if anyone has any links please lmk!)
While he reblogs antiracist posts and publicly denounces racism, he also seems to only care about racism when it furthers his own arguments. While I don’t have receipts for every single post, I’ve seen multiple occurrences of him trying to link racism to being pro-England/anti Scottish independence. As well as the previous post linked in which he he posted a video of white supremacists but made it all about how terrible the English are (while ignoring similar occurrences in Scotland) here is another example of the type of post I mean (warning for antiblackness) - making posts in the BLM tag literally trivialising racism and treating it as a joke to dunk on the unionists. It is really disgusting for a white person to be weaponising the racism of people who don’t agree with them to garner support for their own cause. While I think AFS may genuinely believe himself to be antiracist, he is clearly very performative and that he ultimately only truly cares about his main agenda of Scottish independence and is happy to use the experiences & suffering of English and Scottish POC as a tool to push his own agenda.
He is also incredibly disrespectful towards POC who call him out for the above. In this same thread linked earlier, he repeatedly tone polices after being called out (for purposefully inciting people to be racist on his posts/in his inbox so he can “expose them”, which is obviously disgusting in itself).
As well as the tone policing, in that thread he also gives a perfect example of being performative and not actually caring about racism: he basically expects that instead of calling him out when he does something wrong, we as poc should be expected to have a constructive chat with him and walk him through what he should and shouldn’t say. He says that he’s “happy to have a chat with [her] and learn about how [he] can improve in the future”. How gracious of him to be “happy to” have her to spend her time and energy walk-in him through how not to be racist in a perfectly friendly deferential way 🙄. He’s not willing to do any of the labour to actually learn or read about racism himself (if he was, he would know that inciting racists to spew hate speech and sharing it on his blog is not good allyship, and neither is expecting poc to personally educate you), he just expects poc to calmly educate him every time he messes up so he can learn not to do that same thing again, while never actually engaging with his own role in racism. My post here goes further into this topic. Furthermore, he has since blocked both me and @pakisstani for calling him out for his racism in all of the linked threads. Blocking the POC who repeatedly call you out for racism is really not a good look for a self-proclaimed ally.
AFS would no doubt profusely deny that he is a racist person. However, his actions and words in the threads linked WERE racist and until he takes responsibility for them and makes any effort to educate himself he has absolutely no business building up a platform marketing himself as progressive ally. If you’re a white person who still supports him after seeing all this then I don’t trust you any more than I trust him.
(+ bonus: this post isn’t racist but it is an ignorant and weird perspective, implying that people labelling themselves as from the UK/British because of the negative connotations are somehow shirking the blame of colonialism and responsible for enabling white supremacists to claim the label of English (completely ignoring the fact that there are plenty of poc living in England who do not want to claim the label for obvious reasons...). Maybe not particularly relevant to this post but I feel like it helps paint the picture as a whole.)
ETA: some things from others rbing this post, obviously I don’t have sources for these things but I have also seen similar occurrences and they fit into the attitude I’ve seen from AFS in the past (before he got called out and then pretended he never did those things).

Make love, not war: The anti- OBX drama edition
Okay kids, listen up.
I’m too old for all of this drama and I’ve been on this hellsite for way too long to just keep watching it in silence so this is gonna be my only, long ass post about this mess that has occured/is occuring. I’m trying to get my thoughts out and and maybe talk some sense into the last three braincells some people have left.
These are my thoughts. My opinion. It’s totally fine if you disagree but if you feel strongly offended or called out by this, you might be part of the problem.
I’ve been watching the drama for a while now and normally I’m just someone who’s on the quiet side, grabbing a box of popcorn and watching how y’all tear each other to pieces but seriously?
Some of you really need to get a life.
Fandom life isn’t always easy, fandom life can be messy, some people are not what they seem, yadda yadda.
But seriously, did you lose all the respect you had when you’ve signed up on this website or social media in general?
Tumblr media
First: The Rudy “drama”
Someone, a really sweet and nice to everyone person, stated a theory based on an anon ask who based their ask on a social media website. A theory. A worst case scenario of what might have happened. They wanted to be nice and answer to every anon they’re getting but guys.
Guys.
It was a theory. A mere idea of what might have happened because someone asked, nothing else. It was not facts, there was no evidence and the ask that caused all of this was not based on facts either. It can totally be fun to speculate about things. You’re allowed to believe what you want. Rudy’s a dick, Rudy’s a sweet angel, Rudy is a blue alien in disguise, everyone is allowed to have an opinion on something but oh my god.
Don’t make facts out of theories.
Don’t look at three emotes and be like “oh my god they have to be dating!”
Don’t make a drama out of two actors not liking each other’s posts on Instagram like what the heck.
When did Social Media take over your life so much that you interpret everything in those little things? There’s a real life out there, ya know?
We don’t know anything for a fact so let it go. Wait until someone says something official which probably won’t happen.
More importantly, stay out of actors' private lives as much as you can. Seriously. You’re welcome to state your opinion about them, make theories, stuff like that but tbh, it’s better to stay out of it because at the end of your day, it’s none of our business. Celebrity stalking is not and never will be cool. Don’t waste your time and energy of trying to figure something out they clearly don’t want you to see. Best example for this are like, baby news.
I know it can be exciting to figure stuff out. I know you can be totally curious because you like that person and want to find things about their life but don’t blow it out of proportion.
Actors are humans. Actors are not their characters. They have their own private life and if they want to share, that’s cool. If not, then that’s also cool. And tbh, the OBX cast is feeding us a lot more way more than other actors from other shows/movies, god bless them.
But who the fuck do you think you are that you’re sending them, the actors or the people talking about it, hate based on a simple theory on a website that has a life on it’s own and things that happen on here should stay on here? That’s not cool, it’s a shame for other people in the fandom. Why would you want to make a person feel bad because I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like to feel this way either.
They’re grown ups, they can do what they want. You don’t have to like it but for the love of god:
Have some respect for a human being.
Tumblr media
Second: The Chase Thing aka #chasestokespartyisover
That last sentence totally applies here too.
Have respect for a human being.
Boy made a tweet over ten years ago where he said something that was problematic. Was that cool? No. Did he apologize? Yes. Is it time to let it go? Totally. Was his hacking excuse true or not? WE DON’T KNOW.
You know what’s not cool tho? Some people taking their time to scroll down TEN YEARS AND MORE on a timeline to get some tea on them that you can use and complain about.
I know quarantine can get boring but jfc guys. There are more things to life than obsessing over an actor, ya know.
We all said shit in our youth, that’s a fact but people change. They grow. Don’t compare a teenage boy with a grown ass man.
You know what’s also totally 100% not acceptable? People photoshopping fake screenshots to show what a big mean white boi Chase is, trying to fuel the fire of hate. What the fuck is wrong in those minds?
Cancel Culture is a toxic phenomenon that should be the only thing getting canceled. You can’t cancel people, ya know. It’s fucking toxic to say something like that and just...don’t, man. I barely have any words left to describe this stupid thing.
Make love, not war. Spread love, not hate.
Tumblr media
Fandom is not a place to rip each other to pieces. Not everything in this world is about race, sex/gender or problematic things. Just because someone doesn’t reblog a lot about Madison it’s mostly not because of racism or because she’s queer. Sure, that’s probably the case for some people but you know, those people aren’t worth it then.
Fandom is not a place that should spread hate around, especially not on anon, sending people asks filled with hate. There’s a bunch of younger kids on here, especially in the OBX fandom from what I’ve seen so far and it’s not okay to tell a 15 year old girl to tell her to go kill herself because she likes Rudy more than JD or shit like that. It’s never okay to something like that but it hits the younger ones even harder. Maybe it’s their first fandom and people ruin that experience on the spot, feeling powerful while on anon.
Fandom should be a place where we come together and have fun. Make friends and share things. Gifset, fanfics, theories about the new season, things like that. It should be a place to freak out over new teasers, new pictures from the set, the cast sharing stuff on their platform of choice and just things we enjoy.
There are different ways to block and blacklist on Tumblr, especially if you’re using it in a browser on your laptop/pc. Use that to block toxic people, tags you don’t wanna see and create your own little bubble where you’re happy in. Do this in case you feel uncomfortable with some people around here, so you only see what makes you happy.
Please remind yourself about the fact that behind all those blogs, there are real people. People who all have their own lives, own opinions, own ideas. Same goes for actors. They’re not there for your personal entertainment, they don’t have to share their complete private life with you. They’re human, just like you and me and it’s unacceptable to send them hate, no matter what they’ve done. You don’t have to like them but keep it to yourself or talk about it with friends, I don’t give a shit but leave it out of their sight.
Please remind yourself that we want to have a good time here and especially during times like these where we spend more time on here than we probably should *laughs*
If you made it to the end, thank you for your attention and taking your time and remember:
Be nice to each other, the world is cruel enough.
-Captain out.

Hi it’s the person “making assumptions”. Not making assumptions, but when I see someone being praised for using a condescending tone in relation to something that I, as a black woman, care deeply about I take issue. Didn’t say people were right to send hate, but his response was poor and misjudged. Just making my judgment off the behaviour I see as we all do. I do expect better from a white guy with power who demeans the legitimate concerns of those who were asking for more politely. Be kinder.
Hi anon, while I appreciate an important discourse, I am surprised that you’ve come to my blog when I see that the same message you seem to have copied and pasted into multiple asks in the skam tag and have gotten support for your claims. just so there’s no confusion, I’ve copied you entire message to Chris below. I’m also kind of riled up today so this will probably be stupidly long.
_Not true, when people with approx 400 followers post links on social media for protests it usually generates 3 more signatures. Imagine if someone like Maxence, with 500k followers, posted a link to a petition. His silence is privilege, his silence is choosing the side of the oppressor. He stands for no one but the white man if he can’t do the bare minimum. Coming from a black girl who works in charity, and knows first hand the impact that social media can have on protesting. Don’t make excuses.
(2) I’m just real tired of white people excusing themselves with “I was learning” (axel) when the black community don’t have a CHOICE. This is our reality, and you’re either with us or against us. Silence means you’ve chosen the side of the oppressor, to paraphrase Desmond Tutu. Not aiming this just at you, but all Skam fans defending their behaviour. It is bad. Don’t excuse white men for being lazy and ignorant.
(3) Maxence wants to scold people for not going to a protest? His tone is condescending, and shows more of his privilege and ignorance. Oftentimes it’s unsafe for PoC and queer people to go to protests. His safety is guaranteed, he’s a straight white man. The whole point of BLM is to fight for the safety of the black community globally, including France which is racist as fuck (Burka ban?!), so for a white guy to not realise why some people don’t go to protests is just ignorance. Educate him.
(4) it’s not shifting responsibility btw. People are allowed, especially minorities, to ask for white people to do their bit. People with large influence should do better, especially if their career is made on a show that supposedly address social problems through TV (mental health, islamophobia, homophobia etc.) you really can’t sit there and scold people for asking for better. Sometimes the language and approach is poor, but the point is often correct. Please think before you defend them.
no one is excusing maxence, especially when he did exactly what you asked: posted a link to a petition for all of his followers to see. that’s not silence. I’m east-asian and I have a masters degree in media studies and communication. while I agree social media can be a great tool, I would argue that posting on it is more of a ‘bare minimum’ than anything else; without anything actionable (petition signing, donating, self-educating, voting) then it’s just virtual signalling. it’s not concrete. since maxence was literally at a protest tonight, he seems to be on the right track with his support. he’s not against you.
the systemic and historical roots of racism around the world are awful. no one denies that, including in france. canada in particular is no exception. I agree that the pasty men of the world have more work to do. but to deny them the time and opportunity to educate themselves seems counterproductive. I’m not sure what sort of timeline you have that everyone must meet, but it takes a long time to learn new things, and longer to unlearn everything you thought you understood about an issue or yourself. I literally have cerebral palsy and I knew so little about disability studies and activism prior to taking a class on it. am I a bad cripple? I didn’t start coming out as bi till last year and don’t do much activism there yet either. am I lazy and ignorant?
more precisely, how are you or I supposed to dismantle racism or oppression without their help? in my opinion, your tone here is equally if not more condescending towards them, and chris. quite frankly, if I were maxence I would’ve probably said something very similar. I don’t know how it feels to be inundated with strangers telling you what to do, and how to feel, and how much of an asshole you were being because of something as ridiculous as instagram posts.
I’m a former teacher of junior high and high school. that’s not education. it’s being a dick because the internet protects you from real repercussion. the person axel replied to wasn’t asking, they were demanding and being rude as hell about it. you’re free to dislike his or maxence’s tone as you will, anon. but you are assuming that maxence doesn’t understand why people may not attend protests. he’s not an idiot; all of s5 of skam fr was dedicated to disability awareness and representation. he literally plays a queer, mentally ill character. pretty sure he has basic human decency and knows not everyone can go marching into physical danger. to call him ignorant because he’s not writing an academic essay in his stories about the struggles of every minority group is a bit of a reach and frankly just mean. you also seem to assume he’s not done anything else because...what? he didn’t post about it?
I also have to disagree with the idea that  “sometimes the language and approach is poor, but the point is often correct.” you’re not going to get anyone onside by belittling and insulting them. that’s just a fact. just as you didn’t draw chris onside, you’d never bring maxence if he wasn’t already here, protesting. if you allow all these people on his socials that grace of a poor approach, why do you not give it to maxence in his response? because he’s right. copy/pastes and hashtags are not enough. there is more work to do and everyone’s capable of it. I truly respect your position and I empathize deeply with the enormous struggles that you and your community face daily. you’re free to expect whatever of maxence, but it doesn’t mean you’ll get it. he does not have to document and prove his allyship to anyone. if you’re unhappy with it, then I’d suggest stop following him or blocking his name. venting your anger at other people doesn’t affect him.
your anger at him in general doesn’t really affect me either, despite this essay. you ordering me to do or feel things doesn’t seem kind. but I’ll never have the same stake in this fight as you do, so it’s not up to me to tell you what to do or how to feel. you came into my inbox expecting a response, so here’s mine. I hope that this renewed rage and energy around the world is the turning point of all of this. I’m sorry you even had to send any of these asks in the first place.

*Important FAQ*
Aka questions that pertain to what I usually post about or stuff I don’t like getting asks about but continue to get asks about regardless.
[Insert any invasive question about my ethnicity/race]
I’m Ghanaian American. My parents were born in Ghana and I was born here in the US. I’ve seen it more on twitter and tumblr, but Black Africans don’t like me because I’m American, and black Americans don’t like me because I’m African. So I’m stuck in the middle lmao. I’m what you’d consider a First-Generation African, my parents are Continental Africans, and if I have children, they will be considered Generational African Americans.
First Generation African: A black person born in the US to parents who were born in Africa
Generational African American: A black person born in the US to US-born black parent(s)
Continental African: A black person born in Africa to parents who were also born in Africa
Non is just a prefix, black people don’t have a monopoly on the term! I suppose you think nonbinary people are racist huh?
Yeah sure it wasnt coined by black people but the context it’s currently used as was predominantly used by black people. ALL people who are not black benefit from and contribute to antiblackness, even if they are marginalized themselves. That kind of dynamic doesnt exist in other contexts (unless we’re talking about transfem + transmisogyny, but that’s something you’d have to talk to someone who is transfem about. Plus they have their own word for  “non-transfem”). Using it in contexts outside of antiblackness is appropriative (Yall are annoying as fuck with the “non-aspec” “non-lesbian”(this term also has anti-bi roots btw) “non-bi” shit etc, stop it. You also can’t complain about the “replacement terms” lumping yall with oppressors when “non-x” does the exact same thing you’re so worried about. “Cis” puts cis gays with cis hets, cis disabled people with cis abled people, cis white people with cis poc, I could go on.)
Plus we’re talking about marginalized groups here. Black people are a marginalized group. Binary people as a whole are not so the term nonbinary isn’t appropriate at all.  I dont take issue with terms like “nonamerican” or “nonwhite” because (obviously) whites + americans as a whole aren’t oppressed for being white or american.
Basically using "non-x” in contexts to talk about oppression bad, everything else good.
Follow up: If we can’t use non-[marginalized group], what can we use instead?
There are other words to describe the people you’re talking about
non-transfem- TME
non-LGBT- cishet, or people who aren’t LGBT
non-trans - cis
Black people don’t have a monopoly on the acronym nb! I’ll call myself nb if I want to!
At this point I dont really care, go on your antiblack crusade elsewhere and out of my inbox, I’m always gonna mean nonblack when I use the acronym nb.
And yes, you’re antiblack as fuck if you think black people telling you “nb” stands for “nonblack” is the same as exclusionists claiming “aspec” is for autistic people.
Is x AAVE?
I have a tag dedicated to what is and is not aave and how harmful it is for nonblacks to use aave given its history. I know some things overlap with southern culture but others are specifically for black people. A lot of “stan twitter” language/slang is just repackaged AAVE. No, I can’t tell you how to stop using AAVE. Don’t tell me you’re going to try to stop using AAVE, I don’t want to hear it.
Why don’t you like the n-word being compared to LGBT slurs?
Race and Sexuality/Gender aren’t comparable topics because each deals with a different history of oppression. I don’t care about slur discourse that much because I don’t even use/reclaim any myself except the n-word.
I have a problem with nonblack LGBT people co-opting black culture and struggle(like they always do), especially for trivial online discourse.
And to be honest it goes deeper than slur discourse. Every other day someone is weaponizing the oppression of black trans women, or comparing “cishet aces/aros” in the LGBT community to white/nonblack people invading black spaces (you know, something that ACTUALLY takes resources away from the people who need it, see the cultural appropriation of Black African and Blac American culture in literally any nonblack community while black people get demonized for said culture), or tokenizing their black friends to get away with something blatantly racist. And that’s not even getting into how a lot of gay slang/stan culture is just repurposed AAVE/black culture.
And I’m not gonna lie, I’ve seen this more with exclusionist accounts than inclus accounts, but it’s still not excusable for inclus to do that either. We get erased as black gay/trans/queer/aspec people up until it’s time for discourse accounts to bring us up to one-up each other
Can you give me advice on x?
Most likely not, because I’m not an expert or an advice blog. I’ll try, but don't take my word for it. I’m also tme, able-bodied, not Jewish, singlet, etc, so I’m not able to accurately answer questions about transmisogyny, (physical?) ableism, antisemitism, “sycourse”, etc.
I might be able to give advice on school-related stuff since I just graduated high school, but remember that students are not a monolith, and what worked for me may not work for someone else.
Can I follow if I’m nonblack/a minor/cishet?
Nonblack and/or cishet can follow but watch your step, minors blacklist the #minors dni tag before following
Why do you hate Ao3?
*long sigh*
I don't, I have a problem with the fact that it allows racist and (frankly voyeuristic) pedophilic/abusive/incestuous content to exist on its platform. It’s a good concept overall, but the devs are complicit in allowing “underage” and “noncon/dubcon” fics on their platform.
And there's the fact that they somehow need donations every year despite exceeding their goal several times over each year?
What’s wrong with Hazbin Hotel/The Ships/Vivziepop?
[WIP, as I have to go into extensive detail about this and I currently don’t have the energy for it]
TLDR: Viv made a half-assed apology for supporting racists (one of whom did blackface [yes the mask was used to do blackface shut up] to mock black activist) and drawing gross content. Her current projects including Hazbin Hotel are full of anti-gay/trans/aspec (Angel Dust, Vaggie, Alastor), antisemetic (Mimzy), and racist (Vaggie again, that yellow cyclops character that I’ve forgotten the name of) content under the guise of humor. If you’re into that shit, whatever, just don’t follow me and don’t whine when I make posts criticizing it.
What’s wrong with Hamilton?
Aside from the fact that it’s very obviously glorifying slave owners and made people worldwide believe the founding fathers were good people, LMM, the creator, is nonblack. This isn't his story to tell at all.
Can you tag x?
I have a list of things I usually tag because they come upon this blog a lot. I cannot do catch all tags, as I have way too many followers for that. The closest thing to that is the “ask to tag” tag when there’s something potentially triggering but I’m not sure what it is. Everything is tagged as “x tw”. If something is extremely triggering, I’ll tag it as “major tw”
Do you tag slurs?
I tag slurs I’m not able to reclaim at all (i.e., d slur, f slur, t slur) or slurs I can reclaim but are being used as a slurs. I don’t tag the n-word, as I reclaim that one. I always tag the r slur
Can I message you about something/someone?
Unless you’re a mutual, most likely no. My DMs are only open to mutuals.
Do you want to be mutuals?
I don’t usually follow back people who follow me, especially if you’re under 16 or post things I’m not interested in.
Why is it important to have byf or about?
1) So I know gross people aren’t following me. This is not up for discussion
2) So I know someone’s not speaking out of their lane, which tends to happen a lot. (i.e, someone refusing to disclose that they are tme when discussing transmisogyny, someone not having their race listed when discussing racism)
3) Some people don’t want to interact with people under 18 or over like 30 or something.
Yeah, yeah, people aren’t entitled to personal information and all that crap but I have a serious problem with people speaking on topics from a place of privilege. Not to say they can’t talk about those things, just perhaps add a disclaimer that you’re privileged when talking about these things and be open to criticism, and NOT blocking people of the said marginalized group when they tell you something you’ve said was problematic.
I also have a problem with people who are intentionally vague about their age. There’s a difference between interacting with someone who’s 20 and someone who’s 29. I don’t want to say it’s the opposite for minors but at the same time there’s a difference for saying something racist at 13 and doing so at 17, and keeping your age vague makes it harder to determine how to deal with something like that. (Not that 13-year-olds shouldn’t know better, it’s just I don’t feel whole ass callout posts and receipt blogs are necessary for someone of that age).
Also anyone under 16, I can't stop you from following, but keep your interaction limited, please. This isnt an 18+ blog but I do rb suggestive jokes from time to time
I sent you an ask and you never answered it!
It’s likely that
I never got it
You were blocked
I’ve already answered this or it’s been answered in my faq
It’s a random positivity ask (which I appreciate but not sure how to respond to those)
You were rude in your ask and I didn’t feel like answering
I forgot until it was too late, which happens when my inbox gets a lot of asks at a time.
You sent it to the wrong blog (I.e, sending asks about my ocs to this blog instead of @ochood )
Hey, the op is [insert post] is [someone on my dni]! I usually double-check myself, just to be sure.
Have you heard about [someone who is mutuals with someone I’m loosely connected with]?
Most likely, no. And unless they’re an immediate danger to someone or they’ve got my name in their mouth, I don’t care.
Do you know who [x person/group/thing] is?Most likely no. Not to sound like a hipster but I don't usually keep up to date with trends. If I do hear about something, it’s most likely from twitter or Instagram.
Why am I blocked? Check here.
Why do you continuously move mains/change URLs/update themes?
I’m inconsistent. And sometimes there are posts on my blog that I no longer stand by.
Can I tag you in posts I think I’d like?Of course!

Now, more than ever, we need to be consuming our media critically. While this applies to anything we consume to keep up with real events, this post is mostly to talk about fiction.
No, before you get defensive, I'm not telling you that you can't enjoy things. If you don't have the energy to be critical of everything, that's okay. If you need something you can just enjoy without heaping the bad things on top, that's totally fine.
That doesn't, however, mean you can just ignore and excuse things that are glaringly wrong in media.
If you're actively consuming something like Hazbin Hotel, South Park, etc. and saying everything they do is just fine because it's supposed to be dark and edgy humor, that's not okay. If you're ignoring blatant bigotry, or worse, playing it off as funny, that's really fucked up. Shows shouldn't target and make fun of specific minorities while they're still actively being targeted by the rest of the world. It's not fucking funny.
Examine what you consume and consume it critically. This even applies to shows such as Steven Universe. You can like the show, and that's perfectly fine. Leave them be. You can also dislike the show and that's also fine. Leave them be.
Also- on a related tangent- Steven Universe fans, when you come across crit blogs, be mindful of what they have to say. If you don't want to hear it, block the tags. I rarely see crit blogs putting things in the main tags. Think about the fact that most of the people running these blogs aren't white and calling out racism, and most of the people who make fun of and fight against them ARE white. We need to do better.
And another thing. If you say you don't watch a show or want others to watch a show because of the various bad things about it, that's completely fine. If you harass fans and say "oh your show is cringey and you're cringey" then you're a piece of shit. This mostly applies to Steven Universe, Sanders Sides, etc. Do they have flaws? Yes. Are they just completely 100% terrible and bad just because you don't like it? No.
Also, if I ever see you making fun of little fucking kids for liking something you don't like (such as Fortnite), you can bet on catching these fucking hands. Let children enjoy things, you fucking pricklords. If it's harmful, steer them towards something better instead of attacking them.
If you don't want to engage with a particular fandom, just don't fucking engage. Tailor your online experience to suit what you like. Tumblr has provided you with the means to block even certain subjects instead of tags only. Fucking use it.
Oh, also: pedophilia, incest, and abuse are bad, even in fiction. Fiction can have these topics in it, but you cannot fucking glorify or normalize it. So your pro shipping bullshit fucking counts as glorification and normalization. So many anti-antis are fucking adults in their goddamn 30s, and most antis who are actively antis are fucking children. They shouldn't even be having to have these arguments. They shouldn't have to say why your grossness makes them unsafe.
Please just be fucking decent to people, I'm so fucking tired.
