CHAPTER 4 - A GIRL NAMED NATALIE [wattpad link]

The next morning, Leslie awoke in their own apartment. This was normal, considering they fell asleep in their apartment. What wasn’t normal was the necklace, which they seemed to have forgotten to take off.

“Oh! Silly me!” it chuckled. “Guess I’ll take this off now.”

Leslie attempted to take the necklace off. It did not budge. It tried everything it could think of: using scissors, burning it, yanking it.. but it still didn’t come off.

“That’s strange.” they mumbled to themself. If the necklace didn’t come off for Leslie, chances are it didn’t come off for any of their friends either. One glance at their phone would confirm that. They had over 50 notifications from the night before.

Cherry: this stupid necklace wont come off :/ Nora: wdym it wont come off Cherry: it won’t come off what more do i need to say Kalani: mine isnt coming off either 🤼‍♂️ Juniper: same Juniper: wonder if it has to do with that magic book we found yesterday Cherry: i swear if we get cursed by these things im gonna be so mad Cherry: im trying to get a bachelors degree i dont have time for curses

Leslie yawned, turning their phone off. “Oh, well. Might as well get ready for the day.”

It entered the living room, flipping on the TV as it started preparing breakfast. They usually liked to listen to the news while waking up, so typically their TV was always set on the news.

As Leslie was whisking the eggs (it was making an omelette), the news reporter on the TV started speaking.

“Good morning, Cincinnati! Today we have a peculiar story for you: the disappearance of many citizens. Over the past two days, a few hundred people have gone missing. Investigators have been looking into it, but they haven’t found anything yet.”

Missing people? This piqued Leslie’s interests. They poured the whisked eggs onto the pan as they looked at the TV.

“& it’s not just people, too. Bananas from the local supermarkets have also been reported as stolen. Some people have reported that they’ve seen a couple of the missing people with the bananas, but nobody can be too sure if they’re related or not.”

Bananas being stolen? Now this was just getting confusing to Leslie.

But then it thought back to the day before. Leslie & its friends had gone to that new banana restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant HAD to be related to the banana thefts... probably. Maybe it was all a coincidence, but nonetheless, Leslie was determined to figure it out.

They had to get to class first, though. They were a college student, after all.

Leslie walked into the seminar room approximately 15 minutes early. They thought 9 AM was way too early for a class to start, but it’s not like Leslie had any control of that.

Despite only being 15 minutes early, Leslie was one of only two people there. Another girl (who just so happened to sit next to Leslie) was there too. From what Leslie’s overheard from attendance, this girl’s name was Natalie. Leslie & Natalie usually didn’t talk much, for they were too entranced by whatever they were doing in class. They were both in the school play, though, but that’s really the only time they had interacted outside of class.

“Hey.” Natalie said, reaching for her bag. “Oh, uh.. hi!” Leslie waved. “Cool necklace.” “Thanks! I, uh.. got it from a friend.” “Neat.. Do they come in purple?” “Uh... I don’t know. I’d.. have to ask.” “I see.”

Natalie took a book out of her bag & placed it on her desk. Leslie got a look at it. It was the exact same book that they found yesterday.

“Nice scythes, by the way. They look badass.” Natalie grinned.

“You.. saw that?” Leslie asked. “Uh, of course I did. Why else would I have your book?” “Why were you even at an abandoned Pizza Hut in the first place?” “To smoke weed.” “Ok, fair.”

“Anyways,” Natalie continued. “Let’s cut to the chase. I want to be in your magical girl group.” “Oh, uh..” Leslie mumbled. “Don’t magical girl groups usually fight evil?” “As if it’s not painstakingly obvious you all are new to this. Of course you haven’t fought anything yet.” “Ok, well, um.. once you have a prophetic dream that gives you a necklace like ours, you can join-”

Natalie rolled her eyes. “Well, if that’s how you wanna be, then so be it.” she huffed, crossing her arms. “If you won’t let me be a hero, then I have no choice but to become a villain.” “I don’t think that’s your only choice-“ “PREPARE for your downfall- what’s your name?” “Oh! Uh.. Leslie!” “Thanks. Anyways..”

Natalie cleared her throat.

“PREPARE for your downfall, Leslie!” “Alright. Whatever you say.” Leslie chuckled.

It was around 4 PM, & everyone was done with their classes for the day. The group decided to get some lunch at the mall. It was just your average run-of-the-mill concession food. Nothing worth getting into detail about. They all sat at one of the open tables & started chowing down.

“Damn, I haven’t had mall food in a loooong time!” “When’s the last time we got this, anyhow?” “Uh.. two weeks ago.” “Two weeks is a long time!” “Not really, but ok.”

“Anyways,” Leslie spoke, taking a bite out of a burger. “Did you guys see the news this morning?” “No, I was busy sleeping in.” “Ah.. well, apparently a lot of people have been going missing lately.” “Huh. Weird.” “You know what’s even weirder? Bananas are being stolen from stores as well.” “Bananas?” “Yeah!” “What could one person need with so many bananas?” “One can only wonder. But I have a theory!” “Oh? Do go on.” “I believe that this is all related to that banana restaurant that opened up recently!” “The.. one we went to yesterday?” “Yup!”

The group kind of looked at each other.

“What makes you think that?” “C’mon, don’t tell me you don’t see the correlation! BANANAS are going missing? That Pim guy obviously spent all his budget on painting the walls, he’s gotta get ingredients somehow!” “Ok, that does sound a little reasonable.” “Yea, so that’s why I’m gonna break into the restaurant later to get some evidence.” “You’re gonna WHAT?!”

Leslie took another bite out of its burger. “You heard me. I’m breaking into that restaurant!” “You can’t break into a restaurant! You can barely muster the courage to kill a bug!” “Well, that’s different. Bugs are living creatures. Restaurants are not.” “The Mystery Flesh Pit would say otherwise.” “I don’t think you know what the Mystery Flesh Pit is, Juni.” “I’ll be fine! Don’t you worry! We still have that.. magic thingy anyway, so-” “THE BOOK!” Nora slammed her hands on the table. “We left the book at the abandoned Pizza Hut!” “I knew we forgot something!” “Well, let’s go back &-”

“Looking for something?”

The group turned around. Natalie was standing there, book in hand.

“Oh.. hey, Natalie!” Leslie chuckled nervously. “Hey.” “You know her?” “She’s in a few of my classes. Also she spied on us yesterday at the abandoned Pizza Hut.” “..& you didn’t think to TELL US THAT UNTIL NOW?” “I wasn’t SPYING on you! I was just there to get high!” “Like.. on weed?” “Yeah, what else would I be getting high on?”

The group shrugged.

“Whatever. That’s beside the point. Here’s the deal: you let me join your magical girl group & I give you the book back.”

Leslie groaned. “I already told you. If you have a prophetic dream about a shadow creature that gives you a necklace, then you can join.” “As if they give out prophetic dreams to anybody.” “Isn’t that the point of prophetic dreams?” “No???” “I’ve only gotten 1 prophetic dream in my lifetime, so I assume it’s not just for anyone.” “You’re getting off-topic. Am I joining the group or not?” “We don’t even know who you are!”

“Your loss.” Natalie said, walking away.

The group looked at each other.

“Should we go try to snatch the book from her?” “Count me out. I want to finish my fries.” “Well, count me in!”

Juniper, Kalani, & Nora hopped out of their seats. “Let’s get ‘er!” Juniper announced as the three of them started rushing after her.

Cherry sighed, looking at Leslie. “Hey, Les?” “Ya?” Leslie replied, mouth full of burger. “You think I could help you break into that restaurant? I don’t trust that banana guy myself, honestly. Plus, you don’t have a car.”

Leslie’s face lit up. “Of course!” “Then let’s do this thing.”

Someone hug Inui from behind making him snap out of his daydream. He turn around from his chair to see a familiar face that create a tint of blush on his cheeks.

“Y/N why are you here this early?”

“Early? Look around you dumb ass.” KoKo said as he comes into the class.

Inui lazily look around him to see the class empty. He must had fallen asleep.

“Oh.”

“Wht do you mean “Oh”? Pack your stuff or we’re leaving you behind!”

“KoKo don’t be so harsh on Inui, he’s just tired from his part time job.”

KoKo got a frond on his face when you defend Inui. Inui on the other hand blushes while putting his things in his back.

“Oh yea? For a person who sleeps around in class of cause he’s going to work in that shabby motorcycle shop.”

“Hey.” You warn Koko. Both of you look each other and inspect Inui’s face.

Inui is used to the constant slanders and being beaten around by Koko, It’s not that he’s a bully, he’s just like that. He would apologies later about it but what he said is true. Koko is a smart kid who get all A’s in his class. He’s the brightest kid in their little friend group. So, the brightest flower catches the most beautiful butterflies, and that butterfly is you.

For the first time in his life, he craves for someone and that someone is you. He misses you 24/7. Always wanting to see your face, hear your voice and feel your touch. He even goes as far as going to your house one night after work to see you. But unfortunately, you were asleep. It doesn’t matter much when he climbs to your window to see you sleeping so soundly.

You can call him a psychopath but he’s just making sure your save by hacking into your phone and looking through all your social info and private messages.

You can call him a creep for following you around at night making sure no wolfs can catch a cute bunny like you.

You can call him a sociopath for lying to you as he only sees you as a friend when he craves to feel more of you then your hands.

He doesn’t care what you call him, he’s doing all this to keep you save form the dangerous people out there or to feed his desires.

Now you both are in a hotpot restaurant. Koko apologies to Inui by treating hotpot and BBK to both of you. All of you talk about school life, how hard to weekly test was or gossip about that one kid in class that reminds the teacher about the homework. Noting goes into Inui mind as he’s too focus on you and Koko interactions.

Koko is talking about these facts he knows of, and you listen to him with wide eyes. Then he whispers something in your ears making you blush. Inui clench his jaw seeing that. Koko looks proud that he’s getting all your attention to himself. On the other hand, Inui watch Koko and you with a sad look with a dash of jealousy.

“Oh, look who’s jealous.” All the spotlight is now on Inui making him slightly uncomfortable.

“Why are you all looking at me?”

“Oh, we all know you’re the jelly one here.” He teases as you switch your seat near him.

You close your space between you and Inui, your face so close to his, a slight movement from him can make him go for a kiss. Your eyes half lid and tease him as you trace his collar with your slender fingers. Not touching him but so close to. Inui’s breath become heavy, his head even feel cloudy to the situation, both of you look at each other’s eyes with lust.

“Tell me baby.”

He just wants to push his head forward and give a deep long kiss, but Koko’s clap snaps him out of hid fantasies. You giggle and hop off Inui’s lap and go sit beside Koko.

“Koko did you see that?”

“Yes, you did a great job.” He said as he places his arms around your shoulder.

“What’s going on?” Inui looks confused.

“It’s a prank! Got you!” You shout and laugh with Koko. In that moment Inui felt both embarrassed and mad. It’s definitely not your idea. Your inexperience ass would never. It gotta be Koko’s.

I was always told that Ksoo said he wished he was a professional actor and singer but to not be famous! Like we rarely saw any pics of him outside not before military nor after. And this been happening for years now since debut (I mean the issue of rarely getting updates and pics about him in the streets or restaurants or hanging out with friends) wdym SM is putting him in the dungeon for once debut?? No! Sorry he was the most promoted member and the first one to start a solo career as an actor ONLY 2 years after his debut when he was still a rookie, he has always been the most promoted among all the members even before Jongdae and Baekhyun ! 🤷🏻‍♀️

To put it up in another way: Ksoo doesn't like working with sM anymore and all the members too as they're all now going to leave and not renew so they mostly accept few of the projects suggested to them to make profit from them and stay active in the lights in the mean time before they decide what to do later. So they will not risk taking big opportunities with big companies or shows and sign big-long term-contracts for a long period with big acting or variety companies coz they can't do much projects now in the name of SM since the contract is nearing its expiration, so as long as they r still labeled as SM ARTISTs and still under SM contract so SM would still take their fair share of the profits, So since their contract is nearing its end..they can't do big projects that require long period of time such as accepting deals for long term positions in a show such as "Official MCs" or "Fixed cast member in a show that would last for years" or to "sign with an acting company coz most of them have the bare minimum for a contract is 3 years i guess (idk i don't remember) or to sign with any company that obliges a long-term contract " etc.. coz SM would still take their profit even after they leave as the contract was signed with those companies when Exo's contract with sm was still on. And that's the last thing they want.. is after leaving your shitty company, they would still take profits from you.

Also most companies don't suggest you big and long term projects when your contract with your company is nearing its end! That's why most if the members now are jobless only getting few short-termed projects, Coz these companies are not only working with the idol BUT they're working with their company as well. As it's the one who decides most of the the idols opportunies and decisions and does everything for them.

So if you don't like the truth and don't like to hear things that don't go along with your fantasies about your Oppa then that's not my problem 🤷🏻‍♀️ Go Fix it .

And I hope you won't drop Ksoo after discovering something about him that you didn't like to admit he has 💁🏻‍♀️ he doesn't like yall to know things about him and he doesn't like interacting with his fans that much through social media. (Except for the pics with chanyeol at the airport and just coz chan was there if he wants tI doubt we would have got pics of ksoo at the airport leaving to japan) And he went straight to military after that with no update nor a goodbye Party nor anything! Just a plain letter in which he said he will enlist and after that he disappeared for 3 years (6 months before military and 1 year and a half of military and 7 months after discharge💁🏻‍♀️) Heck He even went and told the member that he will enlist without hesitation coz he is like that and members said they were shocked when he came and said he is enlisting all of a sudden like he just told them he was going to play football or something 🤷🏻‍♀️ He didn't want to make a goodbye party for his enlistment like how XIUMIN did, and why again? for the same goddam reason 🤷🏻‍♀️ don't you ask yourself why we rarely get any news about him 🤔 it's COZ HE DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW. 😂

OK, so typically when I see AUs surrounding Kai working under Chen for the entirety of the tournament they usually have Chen take him in after Ray and Maya are kidnapped by Krux. (I've only seen one where it follows canon up until that point.)

(I'm going to try getting a rough idea of how my version of this AU would work? Will probably workshop this a bit later)

(Also, I'm putting everything under the cut for once so I don't clog up people's feeds.)

-In between s3 and s4 Chen (or at least his followers) found Kai when he was at his absolute worst. He was fighting in the Slither Pit, drowning his emotions out in alcohol, and suffering from survivals guilt.

-Chen decides that now would be a great time to try and get one of ninjago's protectors onto his side (and on top of his current state, the emotional ones were already easy to target).

-He sends Skylor to the Slither Pit to try and gain his trust, and after a week or so of sharing drinks and banter, she's successful in doing so.

-Skylor is also able to get a bit more information on Kai, like how he has a fear of being weak and his repressed jealousy towards Lloyd (he didn't outright say that last part, but it was heavily implied).

-In his state, Kai is somewhat easy to manipulate. Skylor's made his days a little brighter, but he still feels horrible and wishes he could've done something during their last battle.

-This is when Skylor brings the possibility of Zane being alive up, and after a bit more discussion, Skylor tells Kai to meet her at the docks the next day.

-This is where he meets Clouse, and is told about Zane being stuck in Chen's custody. Clouse offers a place among Chen's ranks in exchange

-He immediately reacts with anger and attempts to attack Clouse with his fire, but Skylor counters with her own fire.

-Skylor tries to reason with Kai while he's in his shocked state. She tries negotiating with him, offering things like the power of the Anacondrai and Zane's safety. All the while Clouse might be casting a spell to sort of sway Kai and guarantee that he will stay with Chen throughout the tournament? Maybe?

-Normally, this type of spell wouldn't work when somebody's at their peak mental and physical health, but Kai? Kai's basically at rock bottom. Zane's dead, his friends split up and left him alone, and somebody he trusted led him to, well, this.

-Kai's swayed, but the spell is only meant to tempt. So he's not completely under Clouse's control, but whenever he seems like he's going to betray Chen they bring Clouse in to set Kai straight.

-Kai asks to see Zane as a way for him to be %100 sure they weren't bluffing about him being rebuilt. Of course, Zane doesn't recognize Kai but Clouse reassures him that with time he'll regain his memories.

-This happens a lot due to how devoted to his family Kai is.

-Kai is forced to get an Anacondrai tattoo.

-When Chen's cultists over in Ninjago catch wind of Lloyd getting back in contact with Jay (and was also heading to where Cole was located), they sent Kai back right away so they wouldn't get suspicious of his absence (they of course had Skylor watch over him to make sure he didn't slip up).

-Lloyd finds Kai at the park by Zane's statue, and their interaction is relatively less "it should've been me" "gah stop being so selfish" and more "are we even a team anymore if theres bad blood between a good portion of us?" "wdym of course we are".

The whole Clouse manipulation thing is a little self indulgent, but I think it'd make for some good angst? Like maybe after everythings done and the spell finally wears off Kai has to deal with the thoughts Clouse had shoved into his head?

Anyways I might try getting into what happens during the tournament at a different point in time, but for now I'll leave it at that! (I'm sorry if none of this makes sense or if anything seems ooc. Also, if you have anything specific you'd like to see expanded upon maybe send in an ask? 👉👈)

Hi Lia! Hope you are doing well. I don't know if you are taking requests at the moment, but before I blabber out anything let me just tell you that your blog is one of my comfort blogs, like whenever I feel dejected (which is often), I just come to your Kuroo writings and get a fresh dose of serotonin, endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, no matter how many times I re-read them.

Okay so here's the thing! It's kind of comfort/self-indulgent of sorts. So, like the scenario is that the reader is insecure that maybe they are too smart, studious/nerdy and independent for Kuroo. Like normally they are indifferent and doesn't even bother what is happening around, but at times they feel slightly sad when all the girls flock around Kuroo, to help them with studies or any other tasks. They know very well that some of them purposely come to him to see him and to spend time with him (Like he is so charismatic!!). But Kuroo being a sweet and helpful senior can never deny them. So reader has thoughts like "I wish I were dumb and stupid", which of course somehow Kuroo gets to know and consoles them. Like you know saying stuff like "I love your beautiful mind", "only you can find the stupid faults in my pickup lines", "genuinely laugh at my chemistry jokes", "you are my partner-in-crime" etc etc.

Feel free to shorten this request and add more characters if you feel like, as per your convenience but I am not over with my rant yet. I hope you won't mind, I just needed to vent out.

So basically the thing is I am a NERD and there are many reasons on why I love Kuroo but most importantly I feel like I could have mentally stimulating conversations with him since he is an officially recognized chem dork by the fandom. And um since I am passionate about chemistry along with every other subject under the sky (Nerd things, yeah!), so you know. But usually in most of the fics it is shown that the reader is not good at studies, and asks him for help and him being cheeky, and helping the reader out by tutoring them, like nothing wrong in that but at times I feel left out because I honestly don't need any help with my homework or any tutoring in study dates. I am at top of my work even though I procrastinate a lot. How about discussing cool stuff about the subjects that we study over such sessions? Another pathetic thing that I have observed is this disastrous pick up line used in Kuroo fics (I am sorry if you have ever mentioned it or liked it. I don't mean to hurt you) is that - "Are you a compound made up of Beryllium and Barium because you are a total BaBe"..... Like ughhhh give me a break! Beryllium and Barium have the same oxidation state of +2 , so they can't really combine to form a compound duhhh!!! Or maybe I don't know, probably Kuroo won't like a smart or studious s/o?

omg hi there! i get where you're coming from!! and to answer your question, he'd most definitely love having a nerdy s/o who'll geek out over things that stimulates his brain! to be able to have complex talks and arguments with you is one of his favorite past times :) he'll talk about the things that he wonders about to you and whenever he comes across a trick question/puzzle, he'll go to you like "can you figure this out? i've been stuck on it for ages!"

I HAVE to ask, but why do so many people ship Cheetor and Dinobot in the new War for Cybertron Netflix series? I want to know the precious context, but I can't find specific clips of the two of them, and I just **cannot** bring myself to watch that series. (with the pacing, voices, animation, etc.)

er...i'll be honest i don't ship them at all in WFC, i ship them in Beast Wars LMAO. they didn't really interact in WFC like at all they have a lil bit of chemistry going on in TAAO! including where they gave each other gifts in the Christmas special as for BW though...honestly i mainly ship it bc of the size difference, and also bc i like both of them (as opposed to dinotrap, which...i do not like that ship bc i can't stand rattrap fhdlkJFDKS NO SHADE ON ANYONE WHO DOES LIKE IT THO) i'm sure there's like, actual stuff in BW to support it, but its been so long that i actually don't remember most of their interactions. i need to rewatch it soon lol as for WFC Kingdom though.....it actually isn't that bad, honestly, i enjoyed Kingdom a LOT more than i did Siege and Earthrise (meaning...that i enjoyed it at all), the pacing and voice acting in it isn't nearly as bad as Siege/Earthrise tip for watching Siege and Earthrise though: if you can, set it to 1.5x speed. it makes all their dialogue sound normally-paced, this is, no joke, how i got through 2/3rds of Earthrise also wdym so many people....where can i find these other ppl i only know like 2 other ppl besides me that ship dinobot/cheetor LMAO

you look for the fake you at the back of the school, and now the Giorno theme is playing in the background sksk

you never remember them interacting at all since the very time you see them in the same scene is when you went to have your mum’s cat checked up in the vet and Atsumu was there with their dog too

fast forward to dismissal, you’re quite thankful you werent in trouble, same as Atsumu since he managed to tell the other students to not tell anything to the teacher that he has a cat in school kdjsk sum rotten power he holds

but you decided to ditch him again and look for fake you

you found her talking to the spirit cat that she said,, so naturally you demanded said spirit cat to give your body back to you
