I’ve had nothing to do all day, watched tspotting and got bullied for it and now I’m having like a mild crisis I wanna go home lads

i’ve had a day to absorb what the hell happened. so here’s some rando incoherent super extra thoughts about t2 and sr ***spoilers:

i still can’t believe sick boy and renton are endgame ? and people who haven’t seen the movie are asking us for the details, and i literally cannot bring myself to spoil them abt it.. the whole movie is such an adventure and where it ends up exceeded all of my expectations??

i’m such a tspot stan, and i am completely satisfied with what happened. there’s been mumbles about t3 happening, and i’m like ??? well there’s no need to. the movie completely diverted off of canon... and i’m genuinely shocked at how okay i am that there won’t be another movie.. i’ve invested yeaaaars of my life into the trainspotting series and characters and i cannot stress how much it has meant to me. and their cinematic stories are completely done now. and i am okay. it’s all thanks to that ending man!!

j and i desperately wanted porno to happen, regardless of how shite it was. regardless of how miserable we were about it.  like, in terms of sickrent, if you read porno, it had such an abysmal ending.. *SPOILERS warning again he runs off with the money. again. leaves sick boy by himself. and sick boy cries. and smashes his face in. good content for angst fics, but sickrent is obviously not endgame. and the subsequent books Confirm that they don’t cross paths again. (irvine ships franco x mark tbh)  and i hatelove mark so much because he’s despicable and that’s why he’s sick boy’s perfect match he didn’t learn a single thing in those 10 years. and Everybody Hates Simon ™

so imagine my face when i saw veronika getting the money + mark and simon sitting on that couch together. perfectly content in each other’s company. bless ewan cause he says he really likes that shot.

simon and mark can do what ever they want now. money’s gone, but that hasn’t stopped them in the past!! 

overall, i was fucking moved by simon and spud's forgiveness. despite the years apart and the ultimate betrayal, they still saved mark’s life. if i have to describe t2 i literally would say it’s about friendship and love lmfao.

also my only real t2 wank as a stan is: in the original trainspotting movie commentary, it was confirmed sick boy’s narrative was cut . porno IS simon’s story.. and here we are once again, t2 isn’t centralized around him.  but don’t get me wrong, i think t2 was definitely stronger for the whole cast collectively. 

tl;dr i love that they left it open ended enough for fans to fill in the gaps and in that regard, sickrent is canon.
