Y’all why the heck do I write things that hurt my own heart
#kay speaks#writing the mersupials#just thinking about#how anxious dick is because no one took five minutes to *explain* things to him#like this kid got pregnant and shipping hundreds of miles away from his dad without anyone telling him why it was happening#it just makes me so sad#he was so scared#and an explanation wouldn’t have taken that fear away#but he would have at least known that he wasn’t being outright kidnapped and that everyone around him was trying to help him#someone could have at least let him call his dad a few times#like at this point he doesn’t even know if Bruce is alive#let alone if he will ever see him again#and that’s his dad 😭#I know I did this to him#but I’m angry at the author#>:(

Song Girl - Part 8 - Sungjin Fan Fiction
Song Girl Masterlist
Part 8 - First Date
Summary: first date jitters and fluff and traces of smut.
The next Saturday, Sungjin and Ella got ready for their date.
Ella tried to swallow her nerves while she got ready. She had to pick something that could transition from forty degrees outside to fifty degrees outside. She wanted to be girly, too. Usually she had a strong preference for jeans or leggings before skirts but this was a date and a skirt would help it feel more special.
She ended up picking a black pleated skirt with black tights and black heeled boots that were more comfortable than they looked. On her upper half she had on a white thin sweater tucked into the skirt, a thin tan coat that ended just a couple inches longer than her skirt and a red scarf. She twisted her dark hair into a flirty bun and did soft grey make-up on her eyes.
Meanwhile, Sungjin was trying to get ready with four other guys trying to “help” him.
“So where are you going again?” Junhyeok said, sitting on the top bunk in the room with Wonpil.
“Myeongdong and Itaewon.” Sungjin said from where he stood facing the wall of clothes that he and Wonpil had.
“You’re just going shopping?” Jae said from his spot on the bottom bunk with Brian.
“And out to eat.” Sungjin said, flashing a glare at Jae.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Jae said waving his hand. “Wear good fitting jeans.”
“What does that mean?” Sungjin asked growing frustrated.
“Not skinny jeans, but not slouchy jeans, somewhere in between.” Brian said with a smirk.
“Aigo,” Sungjin sighed turning back to his clothes. “What do you think she’s wearing?” He asked Jae.
“Are you asking me to text her about what she’s wearing?” Jae asked him with raised eyebrows.
“I don’t want to be under or over dressed.” Sungjin said and Jae sighed.
“Oh hey, she snapchatted me. Oh my little girl is growing up.” He said with a hand over his heart. “Ok so like are you going for a matchy thing or complimentary?” Jae asked while Sungjin tried to dive for the phone but Brian blocked him.
“Complimentary.” Sungjin said and Jae nodded, pushing himself off the bed.
“Alright, wear these.” He said pulling out a pair of dark jeans and putting them into Sungjin’s arms. “And this.” He added a white t-shirt. “Then this.” He added a red flannel. “How cold is it?”
“Forties to low fifties.” Brian said after checking his phone.
“And this.” He added a black jacket.
“Right…” Sungjin said going into the bathroom and getting changed. “I swear if you are going to try and style my hair, I will hurt you.” He said when he returned.
“She likes your hair tousled.” Jae said and the other boy sighed.
“Do you have enough money to pay?” Junhyeok asked.
“I have money…” Sungjin said and the others nodded.
“You’re taking the train right?” Jae asked.
“Uh huh,” Sungjin said gathering up his stuff - wallet, phone, metro card.
“Shouldn’t you be leaving to pick her up?” Brian asked.
“We were meeting at the station.” Sungjin said and they all groaned.
“Pick her up!” they said pushing him to the door.
“And get coffee too!” Jae added as they pushed him straight out of the apartment. So he did what they suggested, getting coffee at their cafe on the way to her apartment, this time walking and missing his car.
“Sungjin?” Ella said when she ran into him leaving her apartment.
“Good morning, here, this one is yours. I’m pretty sure the barista recognized me and your order.” He said handing her one of the cups.
“I thought we were meeting at the station?” She said pointing toward Gangnam station.
“We were, but I was scolded by the boys for not picking you up.” He said as they started walking. “You look very pretty.” He added, catching himself eyeing her legs in her skirt.
She giggled. “Thank you, I thought I should step it up and wear a skirt.”
“I like it.”
“I like your look too, it’s very boyfriend.” She said with her smile growing as she touched his arm.
“What does that mean?”
“Like not super stylish model, something non-trainees would wear, and with a flannel I’d want to steal from you.” She confessed.
“Steal?” He said brushing her hand with his before taking it and lacing their fingers together.
“It’s soft and it’ll smell like you. That’s the cost of a girlfriend, they steal your clothes.” She said nudging him with her elbow.
“Oh well, I’m sure there are benefits.”
That’s when she got a little devilish, leaning into his ear as they rode the escalator into the station. “Like me wearing the shirt with nothing else but my bra and panties?” Then they both flushed red.
“Is that something that would happen, cause I’ll give it to you now.” he said playing along and starting to take off his jacket.
“No, you don’t have to!” she said laughing.
“Just let me know.” He said kissing her cheek.
“You got it, so did they give you more advice about this date?” She asked as he ditched his coffee before she drained hers.
“They suggested I get coffee, and Jae picked out the outfit…” He confessed while they waited on the platform for the next train.
“You have fairy godfathers.” She giggled before leaning on his arm.
“What can I say? I had to get to the ball to meet the princess.” He said kissing her temple just as the train arrived. Since they were only going one stop, from Gangnam to transfer at Seoul National University of Education, they stood in the car, holding onto the same pole and facing each other.
“But no other advice?” She asked leaning into him, making her eyes big.
“Are you trying to get my secrets?” He asked leaning into her in turn.
“Yes, particularly your dance moves.” She said and he laughed.
“I’d be happy to teach you.” He said starting to dance in the aisle of the car, making her laugh and almost double over. He bowed to the smattering of people in the car who’d watched the impromptu performance and turned back to her.
“Please, and singing.”
“Talent is not transferable I’m afraid.” He said with a smirk.
“Darn, then what am I getting out of this relationship?” She replied.
“My undying devotion.” He said with a winning smile as her eyebrows shoot up - that wasn’t what she was expecting. Her cheeks flushed, deep enough that it was noticeable through her makeup.
“And you think I’m straightforward.” She said, more to herself than him, as they exited into Seoul National University of Education Station before getting on their second train - this one they would ride for six stops.
“I do,” He said with a roll of his shoulders.
“And you are, too.”
“Perhaps.” He said running his fingers over her arm while they rode, once again standing.
“I want to hear about your family.” She said moving closer and tucking herself to him.
“I love my mom, she’s the one who first taught me music and convinced my dad to let me audition, then to let me become a trainee.” He started, rubbing his hand over her back as he talked. “She’d like you. She always said she wanted me to end up with a good girl.”
“But being a little bad is fun.” She murmured suggestively.
“It can be.” He conceded.
“Anyway, your family.” She said shaking her head and looking back at him.
“My dad works in a company in Busan, a shipping company but he just sits at a desk all day. He wanted me to go to college, complete my enlistment in the Navy, like he did, and then go to work for the same company. I was supposed to stay at home.” He continued, feeling guilty. He was their son, he was supposed to be there for them, but instead he was a couple hundred miles away.
“Do you have siblings?”
“A sister, she’s still in Busan, too.”
“Older or younger?”
“Younger, she just started attending university down there.”
“Oh that’s cool! What’s she like?”
“Stylish and rebellious.” He said and she laughed.
“My cousin, Bobby, said that I’m only just now hitting my rebellious phase. It’s good for girls, provided they come out without having a kid, an STD, dependency on substances, or in a horrible relationship.”
“I need to call my sister.” He said looking at her with horror in his eyes.
“I’m sure she’s fine. Don’t you talk to your family regularly anyway?”
“Yes, but I haven’t thought that she might be becoming an addict or getting pregnant before.” He said knocking her gently on the head. “You’re horrible.”
“I’m sure she’s fine. Who knows, maybe you’re the one getting into the bad relationship.”
“Nope, I don’t believe that.” he said stubbornly as they once again switched trains.
“I could be an expert manipulator.” She protested.
“Oh yeah? I’ve seen you try to lie.”
“Touche.” She said as they continued to tease each other for the rest of the trip.
“So do you have a particular book in mind?” He asked as they started the walk to the shopping district, holding hands once again after getting off the train in Itaewon.
“Not really, I just like books.” She said with a laugh.
“Color me surprised.”
“We can probably find body paint here.”
“I’d never be able to show my face in the dorm if you painted my body.”
“You’re no fun.” She said with a fake pout.
“I’m sorry, but you’ve seen my dancing and I know that’s a lie.” He said and she laughed, her eyes lighting up and scrunching up.
“Maybe we should go out one night to the club.”
“Have you been to the club or to a party?”
“The one party I went to in college that was like that was the one I found my boyfriend cheating on me in.”
“I can see why you didn’t go to another one.”
“Oh yeah, but it was fun until then.”
“And he was in a band?”
“Yep, he played guitar too actually.” Then she looked over at Sungjin who was giving her a look. “Beyond that you’re not a lot alike. He was Italian American, for one. And a stoner, which begs the question, what was I thinking?” At this he was laughing.
“What did your parents say when they found out you were seeing an Italian guy?”
“He was Italian American, so he was not Italian, he couldn’t speak Italian. But his mom was a great cook. And my mom just clicked her tongue and told me a Korean boy would be better and my dad just looked at me like I’d grown horns.”
“Who is a better guitar player?” Sungjin asked with narrowed eyes.
“You, and he was pitchy in his singing. I love your voice.”
He nodded, satisfied.
“So is there anything else you need while we’re out? I’m here as a second set of stronger arms.” He said as they entered into the shopping district.
“A thousand kisses?”
“That’s not happening in the street.” He said quickly.
“I didn’t think so. I mean, there’s nothing particular I need. Just books.”
“Are you sure you even need books?” He teased.
“Blasphemy.” She said as they finally reached the bookstore.
If Sungjin had to give a visual representation of awe, it would be Ella’s face entering a bookstore. Big eyes, big smile, a picture perfect definition of awe. He couldn’t help slipping his phone out of his pocket and snapping a picture of her expression.
“Is it weird that I want to embrace the table?” She asked, turning to look at him.
“I’d expect nothing less with you.” He said before he followed her through the shelves. After forty minutes, she’d moved through the whole store and had a stack of six books. Her eyes were bright; she was salivating over them as she headed to the register.
“Wait…” Sungjin said reaching for his wallet but she stopped him.
“This is my addiction, I’ll be the one to feed it.” She said pulling out her own wallet and giving the clerk her card.
“A guy is supposed to pay on the date.” Sungjin said, frozen with his hand still on his wallet.
“You can pay for lunch, then.” She said, her hand dropping to his upper arm while her other held the bag.
To be fair, he’d balked a bit at the cost of the imported books; part of him was relieved he hadn’t paid that bill.
“Yeah, works for me.” Sungjin said before slipping the bag out of her hands.
“So, we went to a store for me, now it’s your turn.” She said as they stepped back out into the street.
“I just like shopping with you, and there’s nothing I need.” He said squeezing her hand.
“I have a slight shopping problem.” She said and he chuckled.
“I think many girls share that.”
“Hmm, oh stationery, can we go in there?” She asked, squeezing his hand.
“After you,” He said walking up with her.
Once again she got that awestruck expression while she moved through the notepads, pens, and pencils. Once again, he couldn’t resist documenting it, or the pretty smile she gave him over her shoulder - a kid in a candy store.
After moving through Myeongdong, they stopped in a cafe.
“I want to document our first date.” Sungjin said abruptly while they waited for their food.
“Document how?” She asked, her drink suspended halfway to her mouth in her hand.
“Selca.” He said reaching again for his phone.
“Why do you need more pictures?” She whined, her cheeks already coloring. She had eventually caught onto him.
“This one will be of both of us.” He said turning the front camera on while he put his arm around the small of her back.
“So many pictures…” She said, scooting close him and giving a smile to the camera.
“Relax...be yourself…” He whispered, putting his nose in her hair above her ear. And he gently tickled her side, just enough to make a laugh and smile burst out. That was the image he snapped.
“Nice,” She said peering at it over his shoulder.
“Can we go up north a bit more? A few more metro stops? That’s where all the music stores are.” Sungjin asked as he slid his phone away.
“Of course, you tolerated book and stationery stores for me.”
“It’s not like it’s a chore.” He said just as their food arrived.
“Still, thanks and thanks for lunch.” She said, scooting away from him to give herself space to eat.
“You’re not going to feed me?” Sungjin teased as they both found themselves looking at a couple at the next table who were doing just that.
“Nope, I am not.” She said and he laughed.
“Good, I don’t like being fed. Especially if it’s crumbly food.” He said and she giggled.
“I remember Wonpil chased you once trying to get you to eat a cracker.”
“Of course that’s something you remember.” He said with a sigh.
“I thought it was cute.”
“Wonpil is the youngest, he’s supposed to be cute.” “I don’t think about him being cute.”
“Huh?”
“I think about you being cute.” She said with a shrug. He immediately turned red.
“Aish...don’t spring stuff like that on me.”
“You are very cute.” She said with a big smile.
“You do know I’m a twenty year old man right?”
“Yep, but I’m using cute more as ‘physically attractive’ than cute with same sense as saying kittens are cute.”
“Handsome, you can use the word handsome.” He dropped his hand down and squeezed hers.
“I like cute better.” She said with an unashamed smile, earning a glare in response.
“I refuse to be the cute one.” He said and she laughed.
“I just think you’re very attractive, even if you do look like Bob the Builder.”
“Not you, too.” He groaned, paying for the meal as they stood.
“There is something sexy about a well-built man with a hardhat, it’s just too bad when they’re built out of clay.” She said as they walked back toward the metro to take it to where all the music stores where.
“Why can’t you call me sexy instead of cute?” He asked and she smiled.
“Because cute gets a better reaction.” She said, gently poking his still-flushed cheeks.
He took the opportunity to steal a kiss, leaving her as the flustered one.
When they got to the music stores, it was their cue to switch roles. Sungjin was the awestruck one and Ella was endlessly amused watching him move through the aisles of pianos, keyboards, amps, guitars and bass guitars.
“I wish I could have around five guitars, two acoustic and three electric.” He said, running his palm over the wooden front of a Gibson acoustic guitar.
“How many do you have?”
“Two, one acoustic and one electric, but I’m saving for a new electric guitar.” He said moving to that aisle.
“You have them named, right?”
“Atom is the acoustic one, Baron is the electric one.”
“I thought guitars were female? Like boats.”
“Mine are manly.” He said with a smirk.
“Of course, what was I thinking?” She replied, linking her arm through his and accompanying him through the store. In the end, he only ended up getting some replacement string packs, picks, and a new guitar strap. Then they once again headed into the metro.
“So what’s your plan for the rest of the day?” He asked as they rode once again toward Gangnam.
“I don’t have one, do you need to go back and practice with the others?” She asked and he shook his head. “I thought Saturday at eight was mandatory bonding time?”
“That’s still five hours from now.”
“So would you like to come over for a while?” She asked and he nodded.
“I’d like to get a chance to see how you respond to biting and hickies.” He murmured into her ear.
“How many more stops do we have?” She asked, bending over to check the map.
“Several.” He said and she sighed, dropping her head on his shoulder for a moment.
“So we’ve had a first date, is there going to be a second one?” She asked, picking her head back up to put to smile at him.
“I’d like there to be, but I’m going to have to go to training next Saturday, so maybe in two weeks?”
“Works for me, this time you can pick what we do.” She said and he chuckled.
“Why don’t we go to see a movie?”
“Oh that would be good, I think some nice ones are coming out now.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Uh huh, which ones did you want to see?”
“You can’t do really intense ones can you?”
“I might break your hand from holding it too tight.”
“So no, I need my hand.”
“Sorry,”
“What about Wedding Blue?”
“Oh that looks good!” She said as they got out and he chuckled.
“You’re going to make me see all kinds of corny movies, huh?”
“Possibly,”
“I’ll work you up to action movies, for my own sake.” He said as they started walking to her apartment.
“I like american action movies, especially super heroes.” She said and he laughed.
“And Harry Potter.”
“We’ll improve your English yet.”
“With both you and Jae working me, there’s no way I’ll not be conversational.” he sighed and she smiled.
“But you like us.”
“Usually I do.”
They had finally arrived at her apartment, anticipation rising in their blood.
“So you just have to be back by eight, right?” Ella asked as they walked into her apartment, taking off their shoes.
“Probably more like seven so I’ll probably leave at six thirty, if that's ok.”
“That’s perfectly fine.” She said as she put the books on her desk and turned back to him. Color was emerging in her cheeks - she wanted to spend the next three hours kissing him but would that be too forward? Moving too fast? Would he judge her for it?
“I’ll just use the bathroom.” He blurted wanting to escape the almost suffocating tension between them. Once in the bathroom, he finished his business and washed his hands, making sure to put the seat down too. Then he looked at his reflection and took a deep breath.
Well, you managed not to fuck up the first date. Try to keep that going.
With that thought in mind, he stepped back out into the apartment. Ella was sitting on the couch; her jacket and scarf had been removed. She turned to him when she heard the door and smiled.
“I’m just trying to find something to put on since I don’t like silence. Is there anything you want to watch?”
“Do you have any Marvel movies?” He asked and she nodded jumping up and going to the dresser. She pulled out the DVD and put it in before returning to the couch where he now sat, too.
“Is Iron Man ok?” She asked and he nodded. He swallowed, trying to get rid of the excess saliva building in his mouth.
“I like Iron Man.” He said, his voice thick.
They were both stiff, suddenly unsure of how to be with each other when they were alone. He smoothed his palms on his jeans again while she sucked in a breath; both of their eyes were trained straight ahead at the TV.
Screw this, Ella thought before she moved, first grabbing a blanket and putting it over their legs before tucking herself against his side.
“Hello there,” He said as he adjusted his body, leaning back to the couch and taking her with him. After they tossed the back cushions off the couch, they settled themselves. Ella was tucked against his left side, his left arm around her while his right was bent up behind his head. Her left leg was over his was her head rested in the crook of his shoulder.
“Are you comfortable?” They asked in unison before laughing and nodding.
“I like this.” She said softly, her hand running over his chest absently.
“Me too.” He replied, his fingers trailing over her back.
Ella was able to last about twenty minutes of that but for those twenty minutes, hormones and desire were building in her body until she was quickly at her wits end. She moved up along his body until she was able to start pressing small kisses into his neck.
“Silly girl, you don’t know what you’re getting into.” He murmured. He sealed her lips with his, earning a happy hum from Ella as her arms wrapped around his neck. He flipped them slowly, keeping their lips locked and limbs tangled together. Holding himself up with one arm, his free hand wandered over her body. Their hips rolled together in a natural rhythm, the layers of clothes the only things between their bodies. El’s soft sighs reverberated through his ears. He wanted to make her moan.
Before he could, her hand slipped under the hem of his shirt, cool against his lower back. An involuntary shudder ran through his body, culminating in a near-swallowed sigh of his own dropping from his lips. Her fingers moved over the curve of his spine, pressing into his skin. He kissed her more desperately.
As his lips traveled from her lips and over her jaw, Ella let out a quiet moan. Her back arched and her fingers tangled in his hair, growing tighter when his lips pressed into her neck and another moan tumbled from her lips.
He loved her moans. They stoked his ego unlike anything else. Hungrily, he pressed more kisses into her neck. More sighs, moans, and gasps slipped out of her mouth despite her biting her lip in an effort to hold them in. Her body arched, pushing closer to him, her hips rolling against his.
It took several minutes for him to find her most sensitive spot. He wasn’t in a rush. Once he had, he sunk his teeth into her skin slowly until a muffled moan filled his ear and her fingernails briefly dug into the skin of his back.
“Sungjin…” She sighed when he pulled back. Her cheeks were more flushed than he’d ever seen and her hand covered her eyes but through her fingers he could see that they were dilated and glazed. He couldn’t deny that he was proud of himself for making her like that.
“So hickies? Where can I put them?” He asked and she took a moment before pointing to a spot just above her bra. He nodded. “Do you want me to push your shirt up or…?”
She stared at him for a moment before she understood the question. “Oh you can just pull the neckline down…” She said as he hovered over her.
He’d be lying if he said that was not slightly disappointing. He liked the idea of getting to see Ella without her shirt. But that could come at another time.
“You’re very flushed.” He whispered, his thumb running over her burning cheek.
“I’m very turned on.” She replied, her eyes challenging him to go back to kissing her.
Not wanting to disappoint, that’s just what he did but this time he was gentler, more purposeful, not as harried as he had been. Taking his time, he trailed kisses from her lips, down her neck, and past her collarbones. Slowly, he pulled the collar of her sweater down until just its pale pink lace trim was visible. His lips followed his finger, trailing over her skin until he reached the spot she’d pointed to. His lips sealed over it until he left a purple mark forming on her pale skin.
“I really love making out with you.” She whispered stroking his cheek. He laughed, his head dropping into the crook of her neck.
“Do you think we could rest?” He asked and she nodded. “Good, I want to be on bottom.” He said before he made them roll until he was on his back and she was on his chest.
“Are you sure I’m not too heavy?” She asked and he shook his head. “I’ll just try not to knee you in the balls then.”
“Yeah, please don’t.” He said and she laughed.
“I want to stay like this.” She said, cuddling into him.
“Why don’t you come by next week for a bit? Have dinner with us.” He said slipping his fingers into her hair.
“You want to see me again before our next date?”
“Yes, but they will also probably harass you.”
“I like them.”
“And I don’t think Junhyeok will bother you anymore.”
“Bless.”
“Now it’s your turn to tell me about you, and your family.” He said smiling.
“Hmm...My parents met at university here, then moved to the US to complete their graduate degrees. They encouraged me to go to graduate school, too. Really what they did was encourage me to read as much as possible as many things as possible, and you thought I had a lot of books here. I spent most of my school days reading. Almost always reading. Then I came home and they encouraged me to study, telling me that if I wanted to achieve with English as my second language I’d have to work really hard. So that’s what I did. They wanted to have me raised in the US because US students don’t have the same stress levels as Korean students.”
“That’s probably true. The college entrance exam is hell.”
“Because they stayed in the US for me, I worked really hard. Things were really hard for them at first, because it took them a while to find some other Korean Americans. Eventually they did when we moved to a different part of the state after my mother completed her residency. Now she has a private psychiatry practice. My dad is a university professor and teaches cross cultural sociology. When I was six, my aunt’s family moved to the US, and things got better. I got really close to my cousin, until he became more of a prick in middle school, especially when I skipped a grade.”
“You were a little genius.”
“Eh, more like I tested well. I think my parents were disappointed when I didn’t go to an Ivy League school, but I like my public university better. It let me be close to home and its where my friends planned to go. My first year, I really let things slip but after Charlie cheated on me, I threw myself into school. Then I ended up here.”
“Tell me more.” He said and she laughed.
“I’m talking so much though.”
“I like listening to you. What family traditions do you have?”
“Once we moved to the US, my parents converted to Protestantism, and we wanted to have the typical American Christmas. So my mom and I, two weeks before, would make hundreds of cookies while marathoning Christmas movies. My dad and I would decorate the tree after driving around to Christmas shops in local towns to pick out three more ornaments each year, one for each of us. They weren’t particularly religious, but we’d go to the midnight service at our church. We’d sing Silent Night with all the lights off each of us holding a candle. That’s the stuff I’m going to miss this year.”
“We can do something. Christmas in Korea focuses more on couples, actually.”
“Weird. Do you want me to keep going with family traditions?”
“Yes,”
“Whenever I got sick my mom would lay in my bed with me and read Harry Potter to me, or watch the movies, making soup. My dad would take me to baseball games most weekends. When I went to university, I was close enough to come home a couple weekends a month. It was nice to go home for dinner. This last summer my mom focused on trying to teach me how to cook traditional dishes. She told me that I needed to be with a guy who’d accept that I am smarter than him.”
“Of that, I have no doubts.”
“My parents, I think I want what they have. Every month, on the date of their anniversary, he brings her the best bouquet he can find. Sometimes, at random he brings her coffee, especially if he knows she didn’t sleep well. My mom...she goes to bookshops every week to find a book for them to read together or a movie for them to watch. She always makes his favorite dishes at least once a week.”
“That sounds nice.”
“I think that’s what love is...Thinking about someone, and trusting them. Real love is something you have with you, that is steady, almost like the tide, sometimes it might ebb and flow, but you know it will come back. It’s someone there to tell all your good news and all your bad news. Someone who knows what you like and takes care to remember it. Someone to share your life with. Someone who has become your home…”
“I almost want to record that, do you want me to be taking notes?”
“No no no no, I was just thinking out loud.” she said before settling in with her head in his neck.
“Have you been talked out now?” He asked and she nodded.
“I think this has been a pretty successful first date.”
She nodded.
“Aigo, but I should probably get going...I’ll text you later, ok?” he said starting to get up and making her get up with him.
“I had a good time, Sungjin.” She said walking with him to her door.
“Many more dates to come.” He said bending down to kiss her goodnight.
“Just let me know when a good night is…”
“I will…” He said before kissing her one more time.
This time when he came home, he really couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
“He returns!” Jae cheered when he came inside.
“So tell us about your date.” Brian said from his position at the kitchen table.
“It was fun. I had a good time.”
“Dude, we need to work a little better at this. When we ask about your date, we want all the details.” Jae said and Brian nodded.
“You’re not just going to text her?” Sungjin said with a raised eyebrow.
“No, I will, but I want your side of things.”
“She’s really cute when she gets inside a bookstore.”
“Goodness, he’s smitten.” Brian said laughing.
“Are you?” Wonpil asked, leaning into Sungjin.
“Aya, is this going to happen every time?” Sungjin said ducking away from Wonpil.
“Yes, now spill.” Jae said pushing Sungjin into the couch.
“Aish...If she comes over next week, promise you’ll give her this treatment too. I don’t want to be the only one getting interrogated.” Sungjin said ducking a pillow Junhyeok threw.
“Sure, but we’ll be gentle with her.” Junhyeok said with a suggestive grin. Sungjin dived for him.
It was just the first date, a beginning, something that would become so much more.
