🔪with vinyl, and 💭 for the emoji asks!
hfjgdf finally gonna answer this ask game like a week late
🔪 what personality traits do they hate in a person?
basically just don’t be an ass. ironic considering his friend group, I know, but the ultra vs all definitely know how to have fun and do genuinely enjoy/care about the nest, so they’re more than fine. on the other hand if someone shows up to the party with all around bad vibes and obviously doesn’t want to be there for any reason other than to start shit? he will act as the impromptu bouncer and kick them out at the ultra vs’ request. (and ofc “don’t be an ass” extends towards things like bigotries and such too, but I feel like that’s a given with how I interpret the killjoys).
💭 do you perceive the Danger Days universe as more literal or metaphorical?
literal in most cases but I’ve pointed out before that a lot of my fics have (I hope) a purposeful surrealist tone to them, and I think that’s def something that extends to the universe itself too. the danger days universe is like... one big liminal space basically, and there’s a lot of places where reality is kinda thin. and I guess speaking about it in that way is still me being bias towards it being a literal universe, but you can still imagine how this kind of atmosphere easily makes way for metaphor.
(and, in a meta sense, dd was obviously written with metaphor in mind anyway).

while we’re on the topic of beautiful themes in BLI TV...
i’ve wondered how dd!amara was giving me the vibes of someone who was simultaneously within the bli elite but also homeless af and i’ve come to the conclusion that:
she is (or, was one of) the first successfully reeducated killjoys in battery city
1) not that her reeducation WAS successful or even necessarily a traditional reeducation as the way her dissociation works, she forgets everything as an escape from extreme stress, which means when she’s stable she remembers everyhting and goes right back to being a killjoy (which bli keeps under wraps)
2) i imagine this is during the pre-killjoys phase where there’s rly only a few people managing to survive in the desert and cause mayhem, like, i’m talking very first generation of killjoys before even the fab four has really started getting fame yet
3) she was largely just the FIGUREHEAD for reform like ‘look how well she turned out, look how good this system works!!!’ to help ease in the concept of reeducation to a population who probably wasnt super okay with people just being tortured into new identities.
4) she’s obviously not as important now that reeducation has been regarded a normal practice but she’s still got that popularity with older city ppl and she’s def like an. established. part of celebrity culture, like... ah... madonna or something lol like she aint doin much except appearing every once in a while to be lik e’hi im alive and bli is still great thanks’
5) ... considering her dissociation only appears when she’s unstable, aka the BLI IMAGE only fits when she’s unstable, bli kind of. just. has to keep driving her out of her head which ican more trouble than its worth but luckily she has enough ppl who actually love her to keep her around. most of the time. but they do just kinda let her wander and hope she doesnt go back to killing people for them to cover up. she still does. it’s kinda awkward
