again someone on twitter calling Nami from One Piece Useless just because she's not a fighter, but this time, they also compared her with Sakura... i'm tired of this bullshit.

If we talk about utility, Nami is just the most important character from the straw hat pirates, she is the Navigator, the crew would be dead before the grand line without her, literally.

Nami is a great character, not perfect, but a really great character and one of my favorites from One Piece, she is not a fighter so she barely give us cool fighting scenes, she is not strong, but she is really smart and she uses her inteligence a lot, her personality is amazing and she is just the best. But, the problem is, battle shounen fans only measure the utility of the character in battle scenes, if the character is not powerful, they became useless and female characters in battle shounen suffer from this a lot.

Compare Nami with Sakura is bullshit because Sakura was expected to be just as strong as Naruto and Sasuke, but the manga never delivered that or show that and Sakura kinda does nothing on Naruto, she have no real character arc of her own, everything about her spin around Naruto and/or Sasuke, and she also have nothing of a deep personality either. Sakura is badly written, just like all female characters in Naruto. Nami on other hand, is an amazing character, she does have some problems, she is not perfect, but she is her own character and her story is remembered as one of the big moments of one piece, even after a 1000 chapters, everyone remember her story with kindness, because is just perfect, Arlong Park is just a perfect arc that develops Nami a lot, it kinda defines her.

One Piece doesn't expect nami to be as powerful as Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Jimbei, because her job on the story is totally diferent, she can fight, but she can't defeat someone like big mom, because the story doesn't expect her to be able to do that and she still great, not perfect, but great.
