zombie movies really are just the perfect vessel for mass violence, huh? literal and immediate dehumanization of the enemy that makes it okay to kill as many as necessary and in fact encourages the killing of as many as possible. and it’s okay because it’s self defense against an inhuman enemy. but we never consider a cure for this. it’s usually immediately fatal and we never see even an attempt to save them

#it’s treated as rabies but what it were like #a cold or something #like what if it went away after a few weeks and then you got immunity #and then family members have to take care of a zombie #and it’s like the emotional effort of caring for someone you don’t recognize but you know recovery is possible and imminent #and putting yourself in potential harm’s way #basically what i’m saying is give the human immune system a little goddamn credit ok #i’m sure in this scenario if people could get immunity then they could isolate it and make a vaccine #but in the immediate outbreak i just imagine people caring for someone who’s been turned temporarily #because that’s your family !#that’s your person !#and you’re going to immediately splatter their brains against the wall #without hesitation?#i don’t think so #horror movies #imagine emotional distress of learning that you’ve killed your family when they could’ve been saved too #that would be good too #i imagine they would develop equipment #like specific muzzles or whatever to stop the transmission in the safest and most humane way possible #assuming it’s bite based #but i imagine they’d innovate solutions to other methods of transmission as well #perhaps i am unwell #actually scratch that - watching a horror movie at 6am probably makes me unwell by default
