if I send a lot of interactions on your way, it is because my current hyperfixation is coding and I've been thinking about how to make magic with that for a while

The more the merrier, honestly! Some of us - insert pointed glance at Dev F - are better at coding than others - insert pointed look at myself in the mirror. We're kind of just poking around and seeing what works, what doesn't, and what looks neat. Sometimes that means that our projects fail. Other times, it means that we make really, really long posts about emoji spells.

A website could be a megasigil, I think

Ah yes, a hypersigil! Several Tumblr posts have been written on the topic of hypersigils [source 1] [source 2] and I agree that a website - or even a Tumblr blog, wink wink and nudge nudge and whatnot - could certainly be a functioning hypersigil. It's so much fun to think about, isn't it?

Even the most common things can be spells or rituals.
Baking chocolate chip cookies? Spell for good fortune, love, and joy.
Brewing a pot of tea? Potion of warmth and comfort, plus infinite possibilities for intent and purpose.
Enjoying a cool breeze? Grounding and cleansing ritual.
Washing your dishes? Cleansing and protection for future meals and those who will eating those meals.
You don’t have to go out of your way to cast spells or create magic rituals. Think about what you do in a day: What mundane task could you turn into a spell?

Note
Do candles add up to ritual? Saw somewhere that if u want to add up power to ritual u can use more candles for instance
No, not at all. It wasn't this post, was it?
I believe that the only way to add magical power to a ritual is to add magical power.
Unless physical objects (like candles, stones, bowls of water, etc) are already radiating/linked to/flowing with magical power, then I do not believe adding them to a spell is likely to increase power.
I believe that physical objects can carry magical power in some of the following ways:
A practitioner using energy work or ritual techniques to raise and channel energy into the object
A spirit already dwells within that object, and doesn't leave when the object is harvested/added to a spell, AND chooses to help with the spell
A practitioner evokes a spirit into the object AND the spirit chooses to help with the spell
Fervent prayers or petitions are read so that an entity empowers/blesses the project
A practitioner channels an entity who works through them to empower the object
All of this is a fair bit of work, which is why some witches are very invested in figuring out ways to accumulate and store power ahead of time, so that when it's time to cast a spell they do not exhaust themselves with the effort their practice requires.

Pst. Hey. Did you know I have a Discord server for magic stuff? And we recently overhauled it.
This server is 18+ only.
Cool things about this server:
beginner-friendly but we don't lecture you!
our vibe is "hanging out and sharing cool things about our practices"
you get to be called a Bean!
color roles are based on scorpions, otters, cats, and axolotls
system friendly!
the channel names easily show what the channel is for
we have an entire infodump channel
a quotes channel!
and this guy!

Gracious Goddesses of Kemet, whom I adore and love.
Bastet, lady of jubilation.
Hathor, lady of the sistrum.
Taweret, lady of the waters.
I pray to you tonight and ask you to watch over me and keep me warm amidst the cold.
Please sing me to sleep with a lullaby that is older than the stars themselves.
Please comfort me with your radiant smiles and soothing touch.
I swear my devotion and joy to all three of you and give thanks.
Bastet, for your cunning charm.
Hathor, for your jovial nature.
Taweret, for your nurturing embrace.
My heart is aglow for all three of you, oh Goddesses who are eternally beautiful.
Dua Bastet!
Dua Hathor!
Dua Taweret!

I've been considering dipping my toes into pop culture paganism and there's a lot of really interesting stuff in the tags, so I'm curious: if you're a PCP practitioner, who do you worship and from what source? Feel free to turn this into a reblog chain, I want to hear about people's practices!

I had a profound thought while stuck in traffic earlier and I need to jot it down.
Magic comes down to two simple truths. A casting is either *push* or *pull* and the wisdom to know the difference.

good morning. It's a long gray Sunday ahead.
Does anyone have questions re. spellcrafting, sorcery, spirit work, psychism, divination, or witchcraft?
I will be free to answer things for the next while
