I really don't like the trend of connecting everything to the internet.
Why do I need to sign into an account to look at the time on the watch that is on my fuckig wrist?
Why does my hair-dryer need to download software updates before it can dry my hair?
Why do I have the ability to watch YouTube from my car? I'm pretty sure that counts as a distraction from driving and is illegal.
Why does my toaster come with Twitter pre-installed?
Don't get me wrong, I like spending time on the internet, but not everything should be internet accessible.
#ok these are exaggerations but still definitely within the realm of possibility#one time in my childhood i heard a story or read it in a book or something#that a spy inventor guy had made a watch that could do all sorts of cool things#like shoot mini rockets or pop out a little circular saw blade to cut through stuff#and the person the inventor gave it to asked#can it tell the time?#and the inventor was taken aback#because they had been so focused on the gadgets and gizmos that they had forgetten the true purpose of a watch#to tell the time#since then ive had a healthy distrust of smart watches#can it tell the time? yes? good thats all i need in a watch
