every now and again i think about when the code finally (/)killed qétoiles and he had a one day depression arc in which it really felt like he’d finally fucking cracked for real . and then he fought the code again and won and was immediately back on his insane but normal levels of bullshit like nothing had ever happened

#like . okay . i haven’t psychoanalysed the cubito . but . if i sit back and think about that brief period after he lost to the code #there’s some insane things happening in that guy’s fucking brain that he’s repressing #held together by threads so thin that it one of them snaps he fucking breaks . however they are so thin that if you reattach it he bounces #back . this guy’s issues are fascinating #like ougggg i remember how in the lead up to that fight he lost to the code how increasingly nervous he became . in a subtle way but you #could tell . how he kept reminding people that he wasn’t invincible that the code would kill him one day . while also acknowledging that he #was the only person who could realistically defend the island from the code at that point . the fucking pressure on this guy’s shoulders and #him losing that fight is what made him crumble for real . like his one purpose as an individual CRUMBLED in one fell swoop #and then the code was like ‘fight? ^-^’ two days later and oh look at that his purpose is back . head in hands #jay rambles #qetoiles.posting
