Anyway Abed realised he was in love with Troy like right after they sang "somewhere out there" together. No, you can't tell me otherwise

Sometimes there's scenes in Community where there's a lot of different hugs like when they come back after a break or when they're comforting each other about the ass crack bandit and it seems frustrating that they don't take the chance to have Troy and Abed hugging but the truth is it's just a time issue. Like the study group had to make a rule that if they're gonna hug they leave it for later because every time they hug they just keep at it for hours. The hug at the Valentine's dance? After Troy came back from the AC repair school? Before he got on the boat? Those were all cut down to fit in the episodes they actually hugged for hours every time. Levar Burton didn't mind waiting because they're so cute.

hello tell me every troy headcanon you have
troy knows how to juggle, and he tried to hide it from everyone bc he thought it was a weird skill to have, but now he does it all the time even during class
when he watches movies sometime he'll cosplay his favorite character the next day with no warning. i picture him showing up to school dressed like bill s. preston esquire and talking like him (maybe abed joins in this time because troy needs a ted to his bill)
he's a SUPER heavy sleeper, it takes him a while to fall asleep, but he'll sleep through anything
he sings in the shower, and he has a really good voice
he once hit his head really hard because he tried to dance in the shower and slipped and fell
he always needs to be doing something with his hands, so he takes up knitting and makes matching scarves for everyone in the group
gives incredible hugs, everyone knows he's the one to go to when they're feeling down
he has a personal rule where he hugs abed every day, unless abed doesn't want to then they just do the handshake
he likes to cut up his clothes when he's bored, sometines they look awesome but sometimes he just regrets it and mourns the loss of a nice shirt. he keeps doing it though.
he loves animals and he goes to pet stores all the time to hang out with them, but he needs to bring annie to continuously tell him how there's no space in the apartment for a pet, so he doesn't come out of the pet store with every single animal
then britten went on a tangent about how many animals there are in shelters and how sad it is, and it makes troy cry and he decides that from then on he's gonna volunteer at an animal shelter
all the animals love him, and he has so much fun, and he makes them all little jackets
one day he shows annie this old cat whose been there for a while, named Gaston, and annie loves Gaston so much that she breaks her own no pets rule so that they can bring him home
troy and abed are masters at cat's cradle (i just remembered that was a thing it fits their vibe so well!) and they can do it for hours while they practice spanish verbs, or memorize terms for biology
on the boat he frequently said things he thought were cool and then did the handshake to a lamp.
it started as an accident and he was heartbroken when he realized that abed wasn't really there, because to keep himself sane he'd been having full on conversations with abed in his head (levar is just like whatever, the kid misses his bf, i get it)
troy definetly told levar Burton the story of the time he thought popping the back of the raft would make it go faster, and he got boat grounded; which basically isn't anything, because levar still needs his help to run the ship, it's more of a light-hearted joke
he bonds so much with levar Burton, they almost have a father-son type relationship (we all know levar heard wAy too much about abed)
troy learned to cook while living with annie and abed and puts it to good use on the boat, he's really happy that he can make levar happy (levar is probably famous enough to kinda suck at cooking, at least in such a small space)
one day, they don't have very much left in their pantry, just a few boxes of spaghetti and not much else. troy's been avoiding them the whole trip. he spends almost thrity minutes pacing around, hoping to god that there's something else he can make for dinner but there isn't and he's forced to make buttered noodles. he makes them just the way abed loved and has to leave in the middle of the meal because he can't stop crying.
troy is still scared of pierces troll doll even years later, in 2016, after his time on the boat, and when the movie Trolls comes out he barely leaves his and abeds house for weeks, because he doesn't want to see "one of those little neon nightmares"
he can tolerate smurfs though and he and abed watch a ton of old smurfs cartoons in an attempt to desensitize him

Troy’s section of this post:
Troy knows who Richie is, has even watched some of his standup on Youtube. He thinks some of the less raunchy, if kind of silly, bits are genuinely funny. But come on. This is Troy Barnes, who is more turned on by women in pajamas than in lingerie because he just wants them to be comfortable. He wouldn’t exactly find bits about masturbating to your girlfriend’s friend’s Facebook page particularly funny, though he would pretend to, for the sake of his image.
Now, in this verse, Troy doesn’t come back from his around the world sailing trip until after Richie and Abed start fake dating, and considering what Abed said in canon (“sometimes you have to accept it will get on a boat with Levar Burton and never come back”), I’m going to assume he wasn’t really able to communicate with the folks at home. This likely means he didn’t have much access to the Internet, and either way he wasn’t exactly going to be looking up Richie Tozier while on his life-changing trip, so like. Imagine you’re Troy Barnes. You’ve been sailing around the world for like, 3 years, and you haven’t been able to keep in touch with your best friends, your family. And then, finally, you return to the states, and you’re 14 million dollars richer, and yeah you get that taken care of, but what your mind is really on is your friends. You don’t remember their old numbers, but you do know Greendale, so you go there and find out that Jeff Winger is a teacher now, and through him, a reunion is planned with your former Study Group. Everyone is shocked, but most importantly, ecstatic to see you. And then you finally have some time alone with your very best friend, the guy that you’re now pretty sure you’re in love with, and you kind of want to confess to him, here late at night in a commemorative blanket fort because he’s offered to let you stay at his place. The timing seems right; if this was a movie it would definitely be right and you know he’d appreciate that sort of thing, so you screw up your courage, and then he says, “I have someone I want you to meet.” Your world comes crashing down. You rationalize that maybe this is just another friend the Study Group made, someone that they brought in after you left, and that would be fine because obviously they never replaced you, but. But. “I have someone I want you to meet,” is the kind of thing people say when there’s romance involved, and you don’t know if this is a social cue that Abed hasn’t caught up on or if he used it because the movies use them and therefore he obviously knows the connotations. You don’t dare ask.
So like, imagine all that. I think it’s safe to say that upon discovering that Richie Tozier not only came out as bi, but is also dating Abed, but actually it’s fake dating, Troy would legitimately have to sit down to process dfhklsdf. I might genuinely have to write a fic about this because I have vague ideas about Abed introducing Troy to Richie and Troy immediately assuming, “oh wow, Abed’s friends with a celebrity, and if he’s friends with the Trashmouth, he must not be so bad.” And he’s very happy that apparently Abed just used the words he did the night before because he uses whatever words he wants whenever he wants, because obviously Abed’s not dating Richie, because Richie is straight. Then he discovers the rest and it’s like three consecutive punches to the gut and for some ridiculous reason, all he can think is, I think we’ve landed in another dimension, Inspector. The jealousy that he’s not a formerly closeted celebrity who needs a fake boyfriend and just so happened to choose Abed Nadir, aka the easiest person on the planet to fall for, comes later.
Richie, who is notorious for not letting sleeping dogs lie but is also hopelessly and secretly (all the Losers know by now) in love with his own best friend, very wisely decides that he will not say anything on the matter, despite being sure that Abed and Troy are mutually in love. However, he does think it’s his right to sometimes be flirty with Abed, because Abed’s his friend, and maybe it’ll make Troy do something, and it helps keep his mind off Eddie (sort of). And you know what? It’s completely his right to do that and I applaud him for taking advantage of it slkhdfs

For a community college in Colorado, Greendale certainly had a number of stars pass through its doors. Granted, many of the celebrity guest stars on Community were either there to infiltrate the school (like Josh Holloway), pretend they went there (like Luis Guzman), or satirize it (like Travis Schuldt). But still, the NBC comedy managed to find some room over the course of its six seasons (and, hopefully, a forthcoming movie) for some truly fun guest spots.
RELATED: Community: 10 Great Guest Stars You Forgot Appeared
In many ways, the later stages of some of these actors' careers have become well-connected to Community, and many fans only exclusively know some of them from the show. Others managed to jump from Community to an even bigger break. No matter what, though, Community had its fair share of stellar guest appearances and a few squandered celebrity cameos, just like every show.
10 Best: LeVar Burton
Tumblr media
LeVar Burton was one of the many, low-key celebrities who played themselves on Community. No doubt, an appearance from George Clooney would've been too far-fetched, but it was more plausible that Pierce (Chevy Chase) was friends with LeVar Burton.
His first appearance is an entertaining one, as he unwittingly torments Troy (Donald Glover), who is afraid to meet and disappoint his childhood hero. But his next turn is heartwarming, as he accompanies Troy on a boat trip around the world. A world with pirates, but the world, all the same.
9 Squandered: Jason Alexander
Tumblr media
The celebrity appearance from Seinfeld's own Jason Alexander came in a season four episode of Community. As such, it should be no surprise that it was a squandered spot for the iconic character actor.
Alexander's appearance comes in the infamous puppet episode of season four. Therefore, not only was his role squandered, but so was the entire concept of a Community puppet installment.
8 Best: Giancarlo Esposito
Tumblr media
Giancarlo Esposito, who portrayed Pierce's half-brother, Gilbert, also turns up in season four, in the episode "Paranormal Parentage." Yet, this episode is not the one that earns Esposito the accolade of one of the best Community guest stars.
RELATED: Community: 5 Times Pierce Was A Great Person (& 5 Times He Was Terrible)
That honor belongs to his role in the episode "Digital Estate Planning," the eight-bit video game episode of Community. Situated at the end of season three, the installment is a superb one and Esposito's comedic turn is most welcome. He gels with the Greendale Seven almost instantly.
7 Squandered: Jack Black
Tumblr media
While it's easier to criticize season four of Community, Jack Black's appearance comes in the first season of the show. Black is always super fun, which is why his Community role left a lot to be desired.
As the pathetic Buddy character, Black relies on some of his old tricks of physical comedy and animated facial gestures. It just doesn't quite click with the specific tone of Community and it leaves fans wishing Black had been saved for a better role later on.
6 Best: John Goodman
Tumblr media
It has almost been 10 years since the third season of Community began and launched many stellar season-long arcs. One of these great arcs centered around Troy and his recruitment to the air conditioner repair school by Vice Dean Laybourne (John Goodman).
RELATED: 10 Best John Goodman Movies (According To Rotten Tomatoes)
Laybourne has some funny moments, like when he tears Troy and Abed apart in their respective forts while sitting in his pajamas. However, Goodman also managed to bring menace when needed. He's one of the greats for a reason.
5 Squandered: Matt Berry
Tumblr media
Roger DeSalvo (Matt Berry), the professor of Grifting at Greendale, seemed to hold the promise of an ingeniously inventive homage to The Sting in Community's final season. Instead, the episode just felt slightly awkward and slow-paced.
Granted, Berry elevates the material, along with the rest of the cast of Community, and they are always dynamite. But one just couldn't help but feel like Berry deserved better.
4 Best: Betty White
Tumblr media
It's easy to say that Betty White is one of the greats. But on Community, she was truly brilliant and managed to prove that she's a comedy legend for a reason.
As anthropology professor June Bauer, White brought a more chaotic energy than the sweet wholesomeness many are accustomed to when thinking of her. Throw in a Toto-laden rap with Troy and Abed (Danny Pudi) and White is one of the best guests in Community history.
3 Squandered: Brie Larson
Tumblr media
Don't misconstrue this entry. Brie Larson is an exceptional actor who has done fine work across several mediums and genres. However, she was so electrifying during her short stint as Abed's girlfriend, Rachel, on Community, that one could not help but feel that her arc was ultimately squandered.
RELATED: Captain Marvel: 10 Facts About Brie Larson
She's far and away the best part of season four and Larson had superb chemistry with Pudi. Unfortunately, she's dispatched with nary a ceremonial send-off. Larson could've been a big pillar of late-stage Community, but that chance was definitely squandered.
2 Best: Walton Goggins
Tumblr media
After Pierce's death in season five of Community, many wondered what sort of episode the show's creative staff would deliver in the wake of the loss. "Cooperative Polygraphy" was quite possibly the final A+-tier episode of the show, as a result.
A lot of that is owed to Goggins. Yes, the Greendale Seven holds the line, but it's Goggins who steps in to essentially play the role of a stoic, robotic version of Pierce. Not to mention, he's hysterical in the end tag. Goggins is always an MVP character actor and he is the shimmering pinnacle of Community's ringers.
1 Squandered: James Brolin
Tumblr media
William Winger (James Brolin) is a name that has immense weight behind it in the annals of Community. It's not Brolin's fault that his appearance as Jeff's (Joel McHale) father is the worst instance of celebrities turning up in the Greendale universe.
One has to assume that Dan Harmon had grander plans for the arc between Jeff and his father. Yet, many fans felt that season four completely botched it and left the storyline feeling hackneyed and somewhat cliched. Brolin delivers his lines fine enough, but there was just nothing special about the moment that should have been seminal. Most felt it was the series' most squandered opportunity and guest star, by far.

10 Lifestyle Changes You Should Make In Your 30s
Our whole life, we hear that we need to be healthy. “You have to eat your vegetables.” “You need to work-out.” “You need to floss.” The list goes on and on, and it seems to only grow bigger and bigger as we get older.
While there are many “aha!” moments in our lives when we have the realization that we are “behind the ball in life”, this article will focus on our third decade: our 30s.
It’s an incredibly unique point in our lives where we are physically, mentally, and professionally capable of accomplishing an incredible amount….BUT only if we make the changes necessary to truly make the most out of our physical and mental abilities, leaving a positive indelible mark on as many people as possible.
Teamwork makes the dream work. So let’s get to it! Here are several lifestyle changes that could help you feel AND look healthier in your crucial 30s.
10 Lifestyle Changes To Make In Your 30s
1.) Get in physical shape.
Our 30’s offer us the time in life when we are physically capable of enduring anything (many of the Tour de France winners are in their upper 20’s to mid 30’s). AND, we are still capable of adding vital muscle mass (without a lot of struggle).
This is our last chance to take advantage of a deck that is still stacked in our favor. GET TO IT.
ACTION ITEM: Try a group fitness class twice a week. Make it something you genuinely enjoy! If the gym isn’t for you, but you really love ballet, cycling, running, or rock climbing, then do that!
It’s important that you start with what you enjoy. Just know that no matter what sport or activity you choose, you’ll need to add some proper strength training to it as well – a three days a week is best – as increasing your muscular strength and the balance of muscles at each joint are the cornerstones of living a healthy and active life well into your 90s!
  2.) Floss.
Dentists rejoice! Someone listened to you! While yes, I DO mean floss your teeth (seriously, at least twice a week), I also mean mental floss – READING (let’s kill two birds with one stone here, eh?).
Listen, I don’t know if you realize it yet, but LeVar Burton was right (that’s a Reading Rainbow reference for all you PBS kids out there):
“Take a look, it’s in a book!”
A saying I heard recently that’s been running through my mind:
“We stand on the books we’ve read, in order to reach those top-shelf things which we desire.”
Let that sink in for a minute. It’s a deep one.
Kindle, Amazon, your local library…Knowledge is there for the taking! Accessible at the tip of your fingers for free, or at super low costs. Go TAKE IT!
ACTION ITEM: Head to your local library, or jump on to Amazon and pick up ONE book on a subject that interests you. Read at least ONE page a day for the next 60 days. (Don’t forget to renew that library book though!)
  3.) Start saving and/or investing.
As we enter our 30s, we’ve now lost over a decade of time when we could have taken a big bite out of our journey to financial freedom and retiring comfortably.
How? By taking advantage of saving and investing opportunities.
Now I’m not any kind of financial expert, so I won’t try to make any recommendations (although I have read quite a bit on the subject – see item #2 on this list), but I will point you to three fantastic reads:
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
A Random Walk Down Wall Street by Burton Malkiel
The Little Book Of Common Sense Investing by John Bogle
There are many other books for aspiring investors. Find what works for you, but GET STARTED. Even just $20 a week makes a big difference. Don’t put it off any more as you’re already 10-12 years behind everyone else.
If you don’t believe me, pick up a small quick read by Darren Hardy called “The Compound Effect”.
ACTION ITEM: Pick one of these up as your first or second book to read. Make sure to take notes, as each book packs a TON of information that can help you get started on the right path. Do this and you check off TWO items from our list of lifestyle changes in one fell swoop!
4.) Stop drinking all those energy drinks.
Coffee and tea tend to be far healthier than energy drinks (unless you add tons of sugar to them). Start practicing the “less is more” mantra for these lifestyle changes. Start with your coffee: those fancy lattes pack hundreds of extra calories that are not being kind to your waistline or cardiovascular health.
ACTION ITEM: Start by dropping off all those additives or syrups. Look for quality tea or coffee houses. Tea and coffee offer us a fantastic and seemingly endless spectrum of flavors… but you have to look beyond what’s on the shelf at the grocery store!
OR, even better, hit up #5 on our list so you don’t need those drinks.
  5.) Get more quality sleep.
While those with kids will LOL at this one, we still need to think about a regular bed time for ourselves. This is so we can at least have some sense of rhythm to our lives. This can help the body replenish and rejuvenate itself, even when life throws you a few curveballs.
Note that it’s NOT “get more sleep”, but “get more QUALITY sleep”.  The quality has a big impact.
ACTION ITEM: No TV in the bedroom, and no falling asleep in front of a screen. Aim to wean yourself away from gadgets for a full 30 minutes before you head to bed. This is another great opportunity to get some solid reading time in!
6.) Stop eating like a college student.
Your body is starting to “hate you” for having those nachos at the ball game, and Chinese takeout after, well, anything. Our bodies are starting to change. We want to make sure we are giving it what it needs.
Start eating like a healthy adult. Keep those junk meals to fewer than twice a month, preferably as far apart from one another as possible. This will allow you to still “live your life”, but get on to healthier lifestyle changes that will improve the quality of life in your later years.
ACTION ITEM: Start by taking out ONE junk food or poor food choice from your weekly grocery list. Replace it with a fresh fruit or vegetable instead (frozen are acceptable as well!).
  7.) Get a mentor.
If you haven’t done this yet, you’re missing a fantastic opportunity to really excel in your personal and professional life. Having a mentor can really accelerate your professional and personal development, and truly help you become more productive. They can also support you in your quest to provide a positive impact in the world.
ACTION ITEM: If there is someone whom you’ve often sought counsel from, ask them if they would mentor you in that area. If you don’t have anyone in mind, start putting together a list of things you’d like to improve in your life, and begin asking around if anyone has suggestions for people to learn from for those areas.
“When the student is ready the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready… The teacher will disappear.” – Lao Tzu
    8.) Practice gratitude everyday.
There is a post making its way around social media these last few months of a shop that posted new price guidelines for ordering coffee that goes something along the lines of:
“Large coffee”- $2.50
“Large coffee, please”- $1.75
“Good morning! Large coffee, please!” – $1.25
Life is the same: the more gratitude and positive feelings you put out there, the more you’ll get back. Don’t be a d*ck. Be positive and grateful, and the world will pay you back tenfold. It’s one of the easiest lifestyle changes to make and doesn’t cost a dime.
ACTION ITEM: Each morning, within two hours of waking up, you must say at least five things you are thankful for, out loud. Yes, some days having that big mug of your favorite coffee counts. But try to get a bit more creative as the days go by.
9.) Work when you’re at work, and play when you play.
Seriously, put the phone away! Be present when you’re away from work with others. The work will always be there, but the time with your friends/ family/ significant others will be what you remember 10, 15, 40 years from now – not what Mr. Shields needs you to finish.
ACTION ITEM: Put your phone (or other gadgets) on silent mode, or leave them at home.
  10.) Take time to travel.
Whether it’s an hour-drive with the kids to a farm for fall harvest, OR a 10-hour flight with your significant other across the globe to a far away destination, traveling to meet new people from different places can help you have a greater understanding of how the world works – and learn more about yourself.
Besides, it’s fun to get out of your routine and try something new. That’s how we grow, and growth is one of the keys to success.
ACTION ITEM: Start small! Take a day trip somewhere outside of your area. Take a bike, a train, plane, or boat. Whatever your chosen mode of transport is, go explore some other part of town or a new region.
  ~
Implementing these 10 lifestyle changes can have a powerfully positive impact on your 30’s and beyond.  But you have to start. So get to it!
If you have other lifestyle changes that YOU have made and which have had a significant impact on YOUR path to living a fulfilled, successful life, please share them below in the comments!
