I also normally headcanon boss monsters age slowly but that would make the timeline funky. unless. of course. we just have nim having been VERY old. so the people kinda forgot the details of the ritual with nim and nim's sibling had been raised to die so it would have been less of a loss overal to others. (hell. maybe the reason that nim wasn't as powerful as she could hav ebeen was because they weren't close. the ritual speaks baout a great loss. implying it had to be a great loss to the hero to gain the great power. it wasn't a great loss for nim, so she got a watered down version.)

Nightmare would get himself tied up so went for easy clothes. (okay but the mental image that ccino found him stuck in his own clothes a few times? that is gold.) omg all the fancy patterns and signs and drawings <3 so pretty and detailed and such fine quality.

nightmare accepts he is short after the problem with dream being solved! something something about nightmare hiding his own trauma nd only being free to truly be himself when that is solved.

short killer is so much fun. bet hear me out here... Killer and dust both were a lot shorter than corrupted nightmare. but are both TALLER than nightmare after he got cured. Killer is like half an inch taller than dust and killer will NOT let dust live it down.

dream didn't know the magic could jump or move. but he also didn't know someone not trained could survive the magic. He knows he missed some info and maybe this is part of it?

(I imagine that the reason why the magic went is because it was never meant as a permanent powerboost. it gives the powerboost (the corrupted state) to the hero. the hero takes the magic of thesibling. and the hero becomes truly powerful and the magic of the apple fades away. nightmare was pretty much in just the powered up state to get the magic like his own but he never acted on it. eventually the boost run out as the ritual was always meant to be temporary.)

oh i love that. cross had siblings but different in stature and he was not allowed to be a big brother much. getting nightmare as teen? so many memories and cross is trying his best to be the perfect guard, just so is still allowed close. and then nightmare one day is just sick and feels miserable and asks cross to stay wiht him because he just feels so bad and miserable. cross is sold. this is his brother. he will die before leaving him.

“Hey did you know it takes 12 hours and 2 days to dissolve a body in acid?”

or

“If you bury a dead deer over a dead body you buried deep in the ground, when police dogs sniff it and people dig they’ll just think it was the deer and won’t dig any farther.”

• So maybe people had a reason to be scared of me and think I’ll be a criminal someday, i dunno.

• I love love love reading and writing, and also debating. The things I’ve wanted to be when I grow up are basically: Dog shelter worker, actress, FBI agent, politician, and a writer. But usually I just want to do something that makes a positive impact on people. Like i wanted to be an FBI agent to solve crimes for people. I wanted to be a politican so I could actually help a lot of people. The entertainment industry also seemed like a way to make people happy. Idk, but then I decided I couldn’t be a politican at 10 because they were all corrupt and to be one I would have to be too. 😫🤌🏻 we love some good childhood angst

• the only subjects I’ve ever excelled at are ELA and Social Studies aka History, and Math I can’t do to save my life. ELA comes easy for me and I usually don’t have to work that hard and/or get too stressed over it. But I always get the meanest teachers for some reason. For example, one time I did my final essay for like 30% of my grade in 30 minutes the day it was due and I got an A+ 🦟🦗🦟🦗

• Uhhh id describe myself as a pretty loyal friend, I’m a ride or die type of girl. A story from my childhood that summarizes it pretty well is when I was in 2nd grade my friend wet her pants and she didn’t want to go to the nurse for it alone so I peed my pants so I could go with her and she wouldn’t have to be alone. Like, you know, a professional problem solver

• and I have genuinely attacked people for fucking with my friends but don’t snitch pls 🕳🏃‍♀️💨

• But also just anyone, people at my school tend to come to me with their problems for me to either help solve them by reasoning, or just to confront the other person like the bad bleep I am 😈😈

• I also have a huge daydreaming problem, it’s literally maladaptive daydreaming. So paired with my ADHD I don’t get shit done like ever.

• I have really high empathy levels I guess, like I always say hi to everyone I see on the street, especially if they look sad 😔 I’ve done it ever since I was a little kiddo.

• My fashion sense is very much a preppy/alt style. I wear those ripped tights and fishnets, I also have the MOST BIZARRE JEWELRY- like who allowed me to buy the gummy worm glittery earrings, hmmm???????? and those Mary Janes???????

• But I love crew necks and pleated skirts so I always obide by the National “hoes dont get cold” policy 🇺🇸😫🦅

It’s shoulder length :) I have bleach blonde streaks in the front. I like wearing eyeliner most days, too. I’m pretty average size/ on the skinnier side. Kinda high key inscure abt my body bc I got flat shamed in elementary EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TIDDIES NOW- whatever 😤🙄. I also have crystal type blue eyes, and I do have fairly big eyes. Some examples are The Roman Empire, Julius Caesar himself, Anne Frank, The Titanic, the Black Plauge, Helen Keller, Marie Curie, Slavery in the US, Joan of Arc, and just a lot more. I always love talking about these things if someone would let me ramble to them but no one ever does 😖 it also got to a point where for all these subjects I’d go to the library and try to find a book on them but usually I’d either have already read it or I’d read it and know all the information.

• I’m super into Greek Mythology, I have 7 books filled with the stories, I’m going to Greece maybe this summer to see it’s history, and named my hamster Aphrodite but we call her Aphie. I also will talk about this forever and ever if you let me.

• My favorite color is yellow, my favorite food is literally nothing I never have an appetite, my favorite planet is Saturn, favorite song is Tag Your It by Melanie Martinez atm but it changes like everyday.

• Music is a huge safe-space for me if I’m feeling down or having a panic attack. It calms me down n is overall my coping mechanism 💃🏻💃🏻

• Biggest fear is spiders, even looking at one gives me a panic attack and I cannot sleep at all for that night, adding to my insomniac ass 🧎🏻‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

• I’m mature for my age, I don’t exactly like hanging around kids my age and I get along better with older crowds.

• Also I hate getting gifts. End of story. If someone gets me a gift like awe that’s nice but never again, I’d prefer to get you one. 1. Captain Shi

I just have the feeling that they will leave the whole Captain Shi storyline open. Because until now they focused so much on everything Tang Yi and the stuff he has to deal with but Captain Shi falls under Shao Fei’s emotional baggage so he should be the one dealing with it somehow, but until now there isn’t much we get about Shao Fei personally... 

On the other hand, they’re quick to end storylines, like with Ah De and his death, but how could Shao Fei get past this betrayal? Are they going to leave it open as a statement a lá ‘some police officers are corrupt’? 

Shao Fei is the one constantly running around trying to solve everyone's problems, and yes those are also his problems and maybe it is there to highlight his character as an honourable police officer, but then they should also give me more of his story than him getting tangled up in everyone’s else backstory ^^°

2. Shao Fei & Tang Yi

OMG Tang Yi’s dramatic ass lol, he almost jumped from the balcony onto Shao Fei, tackling him to the ground :D It was so funny how he charged into the room ready to give Shao Fei a piece of his mind only to be stopped by his own sappiness XD

Oh and sorry, but does Shao Fei have a key? Because it looked like he walked up to the door all natural as if he lived there :D 

And gosh I love, love, love their relationship! It’s already so solid if you know what I mean? Tang Yi is embarrassed and angry but he doesn’t walk out, he just can’t look Shao Fei in the face, and Shao Fei is so... full of wonder how much Tang Yi cares? And the hug! The hug! How Tang Yi doesn’t shake him off but lets himself be reassured and he fights with himself a little, but as he said to Hong Ye: he found the person he wants to be with, why fight it? 

The kiss was adorable and sweet and so Shao Fei. He’s always the one soothing Tang Yi and trying to calm him down, to make him happy and Tang Yi kinda feels the desperation in it. Because of his little frown on his face before he falls into the kiss. He knows something is up and their non-verbal communication is just spot-on! 

I just love everything about their relationship!

3. The Daddy Issue

So CWH went to jail because he covered for Boss Tang, who promised to look after his wife and kid (what the hell did he do that he had to go for 24 years? gosh) and in the first year Li Chen and Boss Tang both visited him? And then nothing? So something happened and Li Chen decided to give Tang Yi up for adoption but not into the hands of Boss Tang? They told CWH his son died? And Li Chen proceeded to be a police officer? And Boss Tang found Tang Yi by chance? 

And then what? Li Chen wanted to make sure her son is still safe but it turns out he ran away from his adoptive parents? 

Maybe someone does get it, but for me, this whole story just doesn’t add up ^^° Maybe I have to sleep over it :D

The scene in the warehouse was very dramatic and I guess CWH is batshit crazy at this point, I really have no idea what he will do with the revelation that Tang Yi is his son who he thought is dead...

Okay I know he is a talented young acrobat and all but how the FUDGE did Dick get up on that chandelier?!  the kid can truly fly (yeah yeah, the stairs probably lead up to a hallway floor/balcony that Dick leapt off of but still) I wonder how many grey hairs the kid gave Alfred in those first weeks alone

On dark days I like to remember the time bby birb Dick Grayson caved in the Joker’s cheek with a well-placed kick.  My nine or ten year old son then proceeded to smash in the Joker’s teeth with a stick a few minutes later and it was amazing

The Kamunik and Blopikiens subplot stands for the everyday issues of Point Central - no bad guy or nefarious intent behind it, it’s a conflict between the members of two different cultures (rooted in shared values rather than differences, which makes for a change). Because even in Point Central (and on that note, it leans towards cultural pluralism rather than straight up multiculturalism) cultural tensions exist 

there’s the beauty of this series: it doesn’t disappear because The Future!; but people, be they humans or aliens, fight to make it work nonetheless, and Point Central, chaotic and full of inequalities as it is, stands for that - people trying and making it work

as much as the series is lauded for its sociopolitical commentary, the best thing about it is it doesn’t pretend to give you easy answers

there’s a throwaway line about the mixed heritage children of Point Central playing together and that’s Point Central, that’s why it’s worth defending, always

Every allusion to Laureline’s backstory - oh yeah, she comes from the Middle Ages, but even though she’s adapted incredibly well to The Future (with zero jokes) she’s not blinded by technological progress or awed by the coolness of The Future, remaining critical, definitely not forgetting her roots and i could keep going on about how fucking much i love her ridiculous backstory and how it plays into her relationship with Valerian and there is no Born Sexy Yesterday here

(it’s not exactly intentional trope subversion and the series has its flaws but if there’s inequality in this relationship, it’s Laureline who comes on top no questions about it

and they both had as much impact on each other’s life - he brought her to the future and fundamentally altered her life, she made him look hard at the system he was part of, all the ugly bits he tried not to look at too hard, and fundamentally altered his life

the ultrarich are punished by having to pay taxes and open up their gated community and they have to build playgrounds there 

other conspirators are basically similarly forced into... community work. long story short, the smuggler lord has to put his logistic know-how to the service of the community, the business tycoon with their (explosive) counterfeits is pretty much made to redirect her planet’s production

because you know, Point Central is still that very imperfect place full of inequalities and exploitation and tensions were boiling already

the strike works and things still aren’t perfect but they’re better nonetheless, and if the rich do keep on getting richer, at least they do so in ways more beneficial for the community and with some actual accountability

Some experimental liveblogging of Andromeda, starting randomly in the middle on Elaaden.  Obviously, spoilers abound.  Reactions will most likely be both positive and negative.  I’d prefer no reblogs, but responses are great.

Okay gotdamn this is long tho.  You’re warned.

--Okay, I just did Lexi’s little ‘scan scavengers and give them the serum’ quest on Elaaden and I am...uncomfortable with the idea that these people rebelled because they were, essentially, mentally ill.  I have been waiting all this time for it to be clarified WHY they mutinied, and how that played out, and what the sides were, and so far I’ve been told that 1. some huge percentage of the rebels went on to be violent criminals, and 2. some percentage of them may have done so because they were mentally ill, and that mental illness gave them violent tendencies.  I’ll see how this plays out, but I’m really not happy about that right now.

--I’m also not happy that, including the village of Angara that got killed by exiles on Kadara, this waterseller here is the second example we’ve found of Angara being portrayed as very mercenary towards the exiles, especially since that was the ‘justification’ for them being killed on Kadara.  Obviously, you can choose there not to accept that justification, but...mmmmm.

--Also tho, fuck those scavengers on the roof.  It took me FOREVER to find them to scan them.

Are you fucking kidding me?  All this and I haven’t even talked to anyone outside Paradise yet.  The quest I came here for isn’t even on here?  JFC.

--Thought: I literally don’t have the free time required to replay this game.  This is it for me.  No rerolling with a woman to romance Jaal, because I cannot justify playing this game twice.  I mean, in some ways I love the hugeness--it feels...real?  It WOULD be very overwhelming to be Pathfinder, to have an entire new galaxy to explore, all these people to save...but...the time...

--does anyone else feel like these hidden caches are way more effort than they’re worth?  The amount of time I’ve spent crisscrossing the same spot looking for a fucking box....I wish I could just...not have them on the map, honestly.

--I don’t know why I kind of love driving around in circles finding minerals to mine?  Maybe it’s in my blood--father and grandfather were mining engineers.

--Given how shit I am at driving the Nomad, these sinkholes are genuinely scary.

--And then somehow I drive straight to New Tuchanka.  HAH

--It turns out that literally every notice on every terminal I’ve looked at in New Tuckanka is adorable so adorable omg the roleplaying game and the building safety regs and I just love them all I love Krogan so much.  Krogan are like...SCA people.  LOL.

--Okay, I love Rorik, the “Salarian in a Krogan body”-- “Supposed to be an insult.  Joke’s on him.  I like Salarians.”  I love him, and I love Angry Grandpa for being supportive of him with his “They’ll come around” comment.

--I’m exercising every 45 minutes and it’s good but I might’ve done a touch too much this time.  Feeling a little off.  Maybe no more stairs today.

--Did I mention that I love the Krogan?  I love them all.  They are wonderful and the bestest.

--Half the time playing this game is like coming out of the grocery store: “Ok where the fuck did I leave my car?”

--dammit, this buggy fucken game dropped my sound after I paused for a while again.  Only thing that fixes it that I’ve found so far is exiting out.

--And then I remembered that saving when you’re in the Nomad ALSO screws the pooch and got out of the Nomad just in time.

--Right, so, I’m at the Flophouse, and on the one hand, I don’t....really understand why I’m fighting these people, other than the obvious ‘they’re attacking me’, but on the other hand, this is a great fight.  This is def. not what I picture when you say ‘flophouse’.  I am looooving my biotic pull/push combo.  Extra great when Peebee and I push at the same time.

--DO NOT LIKE how when you highlight a spot that’s a multi-location quest, it highlights all of them.  Thanks, chuckleheads, that completely subverts the point of the navigation aid.  If you wanna highlight all of them on the map, knock yourself out I guess?  But on my nav bar, just give me the one I fucking chose.

So, funny story, I accidentally jumped out of the Nomad when I was stuck on a mountain, and it glitched and sent me flying through the air in an endless loop, dying.  So I loaded the last save, which was not at all funny, because apparently there were no save points in the entire Flophouse HAHAHAHAHAHAHA so fuck me, I’ve got half an hour to redo now because of a glitch.

Which reminds me that I didn’t tell you guys about the time on Eos when I was in a conversation cutscene and Kett came in and killed me, during the cutscene, because I couldn’t do anything about it, and then the file was corrupted and I had to go back to an earlier save.  A+ programming.

--Ooookay weirdness abounds?  I’m....in the Vault, on Elaaden, only....it’s not marked on the map yet, I just stumbled across it, and I’ve only activated one monolith.  So it doesn’t exist yet except that I’m in it.  And I walk in and say “I bet we can reach that if we poke around”.  Reach what?  Then I solve a little platform puzzle and activate a console: “That did it!” Did what?  Iiiii’m a little lost.  I’ll just...come back then, shall I?

--Oh for fuck’s sake, I’m locked out of another quest because of a bugged enemy.

--The inside of the Remnant ship is a pretty cool area.  This game is doing a great job of making things feel massive, certainly.
