If you know me I’ve made this pretty clear but I genuinely do not think the code is this evil being!! I genuinely think it’s either previous residents, past federation employees or creations, or something along those lines! Based on the arg the codes said they would kill only as a last measure! It’s been too long since I’ve told myself I’d make a zagr playlist, one that I aim is true to their characters.

Zagr’s dynamic has evolved with the fandom, from grunge and dramatic to laid back and warm. This is matched via range in genre, though (hopefully) never straying far from Invader Zim’s alternative early aughts roots. I can’t believe I managed to fit in a staple zagr song from the AMV days next to a song from Sia, haha.

The playlist’s narrative is loose enough to make your own interpretation, but the general idea I had in mind is: Zim and Gaz start off the way we recall in the series. They form an alliance, their vices (and perhaps outside forces—dib? armada?) compromise the relationship. With time, they reconnect and the playlist ends with them at their healthiest. It goes without saying, but I highly encourage listening to it in order.

Cos I know myself, I won’t call this playlist “finished”. I’ll always be on the lookout for songs that fit themes or moments better, what songs can cushion the range between songs, etc. But at least it’s complete. And I hope you enjoy!!

Do you have kids? I call Romeo my kids because they are adorable, but lol jokes it’s hard to have kids when you have never dated/held hands with/had romantic relations with anyone. When will a boy come for me tbh.
