Crying--no, shrieking filled Gray and Juvia's ears, yet they were not startled.

Juvia groaned and rolled over, looking at the clock on her bedside table.

"2:37?" She quivered in defeat.

"He was only asleep for 45 goddamn minutes." Gray grumbled and shoved his pillow onto his face, partly hoping to smother himself by "accident".

"Juvia was hoping it would be at least two hours." Her voice was broken.

"Well it's your turn, so your problem." Gray said under his breath and aggressively rolled over.

"Juvia knows..." She whined and groggily stood up from her fresh spot in bed.

Storm was only two months old but managed to make Gray and Juvia feel like he had been around for years already. They knew a baby would be tough, but this brutality was nowhere near what they expected or what anyone warned them. They were woken up by Storm's cries at least four times every night, and it was eating away at them.

As she approached his room the cries got louder, but somehow it just numbed Juvia's brain even more to the point where she practically couldn't hear anything.

She flicked a lamp on and saw the infant was laying in his crib, face as red as could be, wailing. Juvia reached down and pulled him up, doing the normal shushing that she always did, although it never worked. He listened for another moment to make sure he was hearing it right, and quickly made his way to Storm's room once he was sure he heard Juvia as well. Gray stood in the doorway, watching the sight in front of him.

"H-hush little-" sniff "baby don't say a-" sniff "word, Mama's gonna' buy you-" Juvia was cut off by Storm's inclining screams which were then followed by more sobs from Juvia as she continued to pace and bounce around the room.

"Juvia?" Gray finally spoke.
