jjk 208 was ok besides the yuki treatment (which makes it as a whole a big ol' fat stinker for me), but idk... How Gege handles deaths are very telling and built up but if Yuki is dead, then this is a dramatic shift in how Gege writes those who die. Plus, Garuda is an intertwined concept of the Phoenix and just disappeared this chapter. Maybe Yuki will rise from the ashes in some way
#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#jjk spoilers#jjk leaks#yuki tsukumo#choso#maybe i'm coping to an insane degree#but i just don't think its over for her#it feels very different#like nanami and nobara were built up in a way that you could feel that that was their end*#*potentially for nobara still hoping she's out there#same with yaga#so i'm gonna wait and see what the following chapters do#but if she's actually dead?? oh man i'm slandering the shit outta this#too many ppl trying to defend this writing decision with 'well what did you expect kenjaku is the big bad'#i expected better writing if she was in fact dying you don't just present new info about her being a SPV and just fucking dropping it#chekhov's gun is a narrative principle for a reason ffs yall think miwa is gonna do shit because of this principle as well#or how you think kusakabe is something more than a 3rd rate teacher because gege showed us he can tank uzumaki be fr

Uhhh
Ppl on twitter have been going on about the misogyny in jjk but literally, if you have any sort of comprehension skills at all, and have been reading it since the beginning, then you’d come to acknowledge that Gege has always given the same treatment to literally every character regardless of gender so I’m always like “wtf are you people talking about m….? Did we not just read the same manga?” I feel like it’s easier for this topic to be approached with the “jjk girls get treated like shit just like female characters in any shounen,” because of there not being a ton of female characters, especially ones that are currently active within the story, so I can understand the complaints from this particular standpoint but again, it’s just… as someone with a brain, I just never got what people were going on about tbh.
Characters who got fridged (like Tsumiki), I can also understand why people would be annoyed with how the female characters are treated in the story (but he literally gives everyone the same treatment so it makes me look at the whole case with Tsumiki as a “well, he did mention somewhere that he wished that he could’ve did done more with her.” The way that she was written like a prop always annoyed me because you can tell that Gege probably had something much more important set up for her but eh… and he did get sick around the time where the writing had started to fall off quite a bit. The payoff wasn’t that good to me and I’m not looking forward to that being animated tbh 😭!)
I’ve talked about Shoko a bit and I don’t feel like doing all of that again but recent stuff has been talked about by other fans (shippers have been annoying about it but I am happily looking the other way 🙂↕️-) but the misinterpretation of her character by fans and the way that Gege plays around with her importance to her friends has always been insanely annoying.
Other characters like Nanami could be considered to fall into the same lane as her as well… it’s just the way that Gege kind of pushed her into the role of being “the girl,” (she’s not to ME 🗣️) (probably because she’s a noncombatant sorcerer too so it’s not like he’d have many opportunities where he could fit her into the story as much since jjk always gets straight to the action and horror of what it’s trying to convey…) but the way that fans who push her to the side for shipping purposes is kind of a result of Gege keeping her out of sight, out of mind, and downplaying her importance to her peers. Especially Gojo. Gege got her fucked up actually well 👎🏾😭.
People go on about what happened to Yuki but she’s always been a pretty cool character and I’m still DEVASTATED but she did what she had to do… my only issue with her is that Gege got ride of her as soon as we got to actually see her being a REAL sorcerer 😭… why so soon!!!-!/$:!.&.&z she was still raw!!!
There were other female characters who operated as fodder/ side characters but it was literally just your run of the mill, villain of the week shit in the same vain that their male counterparts were used as.
And people forget that misogyny has been a topic that’s been brought up on multiple occasions within the actual text of JJK. Jujutsu society within itself is literally built upon the conservative, patriarchal values and beliefs of old men who refuse to get with the time so again? Did we not read the same story 😵💫…? Like, I’m not even defending Gege because he could’ve given us more than he has but it’s never been as bad as the way certain fans have made it out to be if I’m being real 😭… just talking just to talk.
They’re especially annoying whenever they bring up Nobara and make the same ole’ “Gege can’t write female characters and hates them so much!” Threads sksksksl. I still remember ppl saying that Nobara got the “Sakura treatment,” before I’d gotten far enough to learn more about her character back when JJK was still new to me and after reading ahead, I was so lost like eh…? Nobara was so cool and written insanely well to simply be a female character trapped in a shounen of all things. I got my friend to start JJK not too long ago and she herself had even stated that Nobara was pretty well written from what she’s read so far and that you typically don’t see female characters written like her since archetypes such as hers are usually given to male characters anyway. Gege did her bogus but while she was still in the story, she ate every scene she was present in and I’ll always appreciate Gege for giving his female characters actual personalities outside of simply being the girl in the gang (outside of Shoko… again, it has more to do with the fact that she wasn’t as present throughout the story as a character vs her counterparts… which sucks a whole lot) who is also the love interest all of a sudden. Nobara was so fun, man. I wished Gege could’ve put us out of our misery sooner by confirming that she’d really DIED instead of waiting this fucking long to do soansjN. I’d been waiting with baited breath for eyepatch wearing Nobara to make her debut for YEARS now *jumps*
Maki is just…. 😨👍🏾!!! applauding for the rest of my life… her whole story is literally tied to the fact that she is a girl, with a big part of her mistreatment being the result of her also being “disabled,” in the eyes of a sorcerer. That’s not the word that I’d like to use since she isn’t actually disabled, but in the world of Jujutsu, and especially from the likes of her clan, you’re automatically seen as inferior if you aren’t born with cursed energy and so on. You’re literally nothing and if you’re a woman, you just keep your mouth shut, keep the house clean, cook, and have kids. It’s a mess. Maki was so cool, man. She really came up and I just really loved how Gege handled her story… I’m not looking forward to THAT arc being animated because of how sad the ending was… I cried and I get so emotional whenever I think of Maki and Mai 😭😭😭👎🏾.
People can’t even use Momo and Miwa as an excuse since Gege kind of didn’t do anything with the Kyoto students at all outside of Todo’s cool ass and Mai was sort of only important because of Maki’s importance to the story but even so, I still enjoyed Mai on her own. I guess I’m really sensitive about Maki and Mai since I’m also a twin so it’s just 😭…

The more the post-Shibuya plot falls into place the more convinced I am that Nobara is totally going to come back. Like before I was at maybe 95% but now I’m 100% certain. And here’s why.
Pre Shibuya, Nobara’s character had a problem. Itadori and Fushiguro had their thing, the saving and not saving, the whole ‘if you die I’ll kill you’ shebang. As characters, they were missing things, which means that there was room for their characters to grow. They could break each other down and build each other up.
But Nobara—what was her role? She was a fantastic sister-in-arms, but what purpose did her character actually serve? Primarily, what she did was show Itadori and Fushiguro that they weren’t alone. But that’s not exactly a character arc. Look, there’s a reason the meme about her looking at the boys flirting and going ‘really? Right in front of my salad?’ fits so well. There’s a reason the Curse Womb Arc had to basically bench her for the entire thing so that the boys could have their drama.
Nobara’s problem is that she’s kind of perfect already. She’s not missing anything. She’s built up as fiercely independent and self defined, but she’s so independent that she’s not even that affected by the main plot drama, which is Itadori’s struggles against death. Sure, she gained the power of friendship and got stronger as a fighter, but in terms of character philosophy, there’s just not as much room for her to grow. I always found it a bit awkward, narratively, that the most outward vulnerability she’s shown is with regards to Maki, who she only has like two scenes with.
So Nobara, as much as I love her, was honestly feeling kind of stagnant. Similar to Todo, she’ll show up briefly and kick ass and steal everyone’s hearts, but then...where do you go from there? Especially since Gege-sensei seems the type of author who would flat out refuse to do the same fight twice, once Nobara gets her character-establishing fight scenes...well, that’s pretty much it.
What Nobara’s character needed was a hard reset.
Shibuya was Gege-sensei’s chance to do just that. First of all, everyone who died/got sealed in Shibuya had a very specific purpose. The cursed spirits (particularly Mahito) have fulfilled their purpose in pushing Itadori and the plot forward, so let’s kill them all and clear the slate. Nanami needed to die because he was a sort of narrative safety net. As long as Nanami’s around, nothing truly bad will happen, because he’s a total dad and will do his best to protect Itadori. So he’s got to go. Gojo is so powerful that he basically breaks the plot every time he shows up, so he’s definitely got to go. Now the training wheels are off. JJK, in its purest form, can finally start.
Shibuya was a hard reset on everything—the JJK world, the battle system, the character dynamics. Amazingly, both Itadori and Fushiguro technically die in Shibuya. They only get better because of Sukuna. If you think about it, Nobara “dying” is actually pretty much in the same vein, she just didn’t have the benefit of Simpkuna running over to heal her. For the main trio, death just means a pivot point in their character arcs.
Now, now finally, Nobara’s character has so much potential and unanswered questions. How would she adapt her powers and mindset to this crazy post-apocalypse world? How would she handle the disability and no doubt horrendous facial scarring from her injury? How would she deal with Itadori’s guilt?
The thing that gets me most excited is that Maki is now definitely a main character. We all thought “oh no, Maki is on the brink of death, the JJK girls all got screwed over in Shibuya and this manga has betrayed me” but NO, Gege-sensei was just teeing up the best character arc in the whole manga so far. If Maki can get a comeback like this, Nobara definitely can. Not only that, but Nobara and Maki finally have space to interact the way the boys had before. They couldn’t really do that earlier because Maki was just the cool sempai, but now Maki’s got like, enormous character depth, and all this trauma to unpack. Will Nobara still look up to her? Can she restore Maki’s heart?? I have no idea, but the potential!!!! There’s no way Gege-sensei will just drop that thread without taking advantage of it later on.
So, to sum it up, Nobara is definitely coming back. It’s not a question of if, it’s when.

JJK Characters x You on a date
notes : I tried including Gojo's love for Digimon since I also grew up watching Digimon and loving the anime with all of my heart, also because Gojo's seiyuu, both Japanese and English versions, voiced for characters in Digimon, so I wanna pay homage to the both of them. other than that, I also included my love for arts and history, something I tried to incorporate into my writing, just to make it like.. lilith's style, ya know?
extra notes : also I wrote megumi for Elli, just because haha.
warnings : slight cussing. not proofread lol. other than that, none. 100% fluff!
characters : gojo satoru, fushiguro megumi, kugisaki nobara, nanami kento, itadori yuji.
Gojo Satoru - Arcades, vintage shops, especially collectors, especially Digimon, comic book/manga stores.
[Your name]! [Your name!]! Look, look! It's the Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 series! All 9 of them! Let's get in!"
"Ahh hold on. Towu! We're supposed to visit the cat cafe, you promised that you would go with me and take pictures with the cat hairband on! And I'm starving!"
You jokingly scowled at him, tapping your Doc Martens feet on the ground, arms folding.
"Fucking adorable. Let me see if I can tease her more, hah." A smirk soon appeared on this blue-eyed darling of yours.
"Let me get the manga and I promise, I'll go to this cat cafe with you, baby. Hm?"
"Oh alright."
"I love you, sweetheart. I know how much you wanted to go there but the manga. I- ahaaaa"
He started pouting as he kept pointing in the direction of the Digimon manga by the window. You quickly opened your camera, taking pictures of him sulking, emitting a soft giggle that actually made his heart squeezed with joy.
He presses his lips against your forehead, thumb circling your cheek, gently squishing them before opening the door, yanking you into the comic book store with him. You vowed to hide the comic books once he goes on a mission. After all, he made you wait a month before the two of you finally get to go to this cafe you always wanted to visit.
"Baby, I can read what you're thinking. Your face shows it too. Hehe. Watch me hide your panties."
Taking in a few gulps of air to deepen your breath, you opened your eyes, to meet the love of your life's own eyes, snickering at you, his large hands on the crown of your head before ruffling your already messy hair. There is no way you can stay mad at this man, as childish as he is, you know he loves you and deep down? He knows you love him too.
Itadori Yuji - Thrift stores, internet cafes to play online games with you, cinemas.
"Candy! [Your name] love! Don't! Make! Me! Ahhh cover up for me! I am gonna lose! I am gonna-"
He turns around to face you with soft eyes, his eyebrows slightly droopy before looking back at the computer, taking in the seconds in his head to register the fact that he lost in his mission with you in Inferno.
"Awww sorry babe. I mean.. you just started playing CSGO, so tell me, why- again- damn it- you wanna- AH. Damn it! Throw the fucking grenade! I mean why you wanna play this game, you need more practice- FUCK YOU."
Gentle chuckles were heard, emitted from his throat, his soft, peach toned lips landed on your cheek repeatedly as he rubbed soothing circles around your back.
"Breathe, bunny baby. You're so feisty whenever you start having online matches. Breathe. I love you, and I don't want you to get your blood pressure rising because of these dumbos, hm?"
Your lips curl into a faint and appreciative smile, nodding while your eyes are glued to the screen, ignoring the fading laughs and snickers from the people acknowledging your mini rage.
"I love you too. If I win, I'm getting us boba and chicken nuggets. So let me fight them, okie?"
"Yes ma'am!"
Megumi - Museums, art galleries, photo exhibitions, aesthetic cafes.
"Oh Gumi bear, look at that! That is the Raft of Medusa, it was done by Thèodore Géricault, he himself interviewed two survivors from the shipwreck."
He looks over your eyes that shine with excitement and pure happiness.
"Art"
Was what he thought every time he laid his sight onto you. God knows that he falls in love with you every single time he is blessed with your presence. Resting his arm around your waist, pulling you closer, inhaling the scent of mixed berries and wild roses, he swore he heard his heartbeat increasing every two seconds in a span of one minute.
"Oh really? What do you think this painting is all about?"
Glancing at him before returning to the painting, you puffed your cheeks, pressing your lips together with your index finger curled on your chin and your thumb under it.
"Lord, she is so cute whenever she does that. Can I kiss her? Should I? No wait, she's trying to tell me her own interpretation of this painting. To me. Oh wow. I'm gonna kiss her... later. I can't interrupt her." That is all he could think of. You. He is deeply, madly, beautifully in love with you.
"In my opinion, it tells me the ways of how men, or human beings, seek out in order to survive. When we are at the brink of desperation, insanity, happiness, greed, lust, desire, wrath, grief, don't we all do things unimaginable to help us go through the day? They even resolved to cannibalism. I think even I would commit to that if I was in an extremely dire situation."
You looked at him, a wide smile on your face, emitting a soft giggle that entered his right ear and stayed within the chambers of his mind. He closed the spaces between the both of you, sealing his lips onto yours, with the intention of making this very moment last a little longer heavy within his heart.
"Art."
Was what you thought of him.
Nanami Kento - Theatres, historical museums, fine dining restaurants.
You squealed, lightly clapping your hands as you ran to a block of marble, your foot tapping against the floor. He chuckles, hands in his pocket, taking fast strides towards you.
"Namnam! Look look! That's the Parthenon Sculptures! It was founded in hm... Athens, yes! If I am not mistaken, around 438 to 432 BC. These sculptures decorated the insides of the Parthenon, it is a temple located at the fortress of the Athenian Acropolis. It is said that this temple was built to appreciate and worship the Goddess Athena, she was the deity worship in Athens. Also, ah ah! Did you know that the word parthénos means "maiden", "girl" or ‘virgin"? And I-"
You look at him, your magnificent lover wearing a dark brown trench coat, with ecru brown trousers and a black turtleneck tucked in, his neck layered with white gold necklaces. Your hand unconsciously scratches your sideburns, giggling at the side of his stoic expression, eyes piercing yours beneath that yellow-green glasses he constantly has on his chiseled face.
"Oh... I am sorry... I didn't mean to bore you. I was just so excited because you know me! I love anything that is related to ancient greek history and mythology. I can't seem to get enough of it and it is absolut-
"I'm not bored, [your name]. I was just paying attention to every single word that pretty lips of yours uttered. It's magnificent that you knew all of this. It shows just how smart, curious, bright your mind and soul is. And darling?"
"Huh?"
"I am lucky to be blessed with someone like you. With Gojo constantly following me, there is no way I can read the books I bought for myself. However, having you around, breaking the ice with your random history tib bits, I feel like I am reading the pages, savouring each word, alphabet, sentence, thus expanding my quest and love for knowledge."
You looked down. Normally, you're not the type to tear up this easily but seeing how this man, this angel of a man, appreciates the little things you loved and adored, you can't help but let the waterworks out. You lifted your head up to meet his gaze, the tip of your nose slightly stuffy. You grabbed his arms, clinging onto him, the difference of height and size makes it sweet to the eyes of strangers surrounding you both.
"Oh Namnam. Thank you so much. This means the world to me. Shall we... go and see the best of Ramesses the Great? I've loads to tell you!"
Nobara - Shopping malls, ferry rides, beach dates, parks with cherry blossoms.
"Baby... tell me, have you ever seen anything as joyous as the ocean?"
You two stood by the seashore, fingers intertwined, your head resting on her shoulders, the sound of the seas splashing against the rocks and the warmth around your foot, it tingled but it feels good at the same time.
"I don't want this moment to end, [your name]."
"Why is that, pretty one?"
A faint sigh leaves her lips, you feeling her body loosen up.
"I just.. school is sort of stressful so my time spent with you liberates me from the pressure, fatigue, and image of curses embedded in my brain. Walking with you... through this airy womb of skies and clouds, don't you know it makes me happy?"
You leaned closer, pressing a soft peck on her cheeks, earning yourself a pair of scarlet cheeks with a gorgeous smile from the one next to you. You turned yourself to face her, hands on her shoulders, bringing her body closer to yours.
"Whenever and wherever you need me, I will be there. I might not be perfect, but I am gonna do my best to be the one you can always count on."
You pressed a kiss on her left cheek.
"I love you."
A kiss on her right cheek.
"I love you."
A kiss to the lips of the woman whom you shared your entire universe with.
"To the moon and back, I love you, Kugisaki Nobara."
The end.

Time has always been the limit for humans. We were born and raised, thrown into the world and built our lives only for everything you’ve worked hard for to be left behind once death came right by your door. And for sorcerers like you, death has always been just a step behind, ready to take you once it was your time. But in your case, you miraculously lived long enough to know you would die with no regrets.
Feeling the hand clung onto yours, your eyes woke from its slumber. Your eyes were met with the bright sunshine that illuminated the whole room, the white of the ceiling shining brighter than ever. Your head turned to your side to see Choso sitting asleep by your bed, his hand on top of yours while the other held your family scrapbook. The page was open, showing a picture of your family at its early stages. It was you and Choso both holding onto your newborn with your friends by your sides. You remembered it was your first born’s first birthday and you smiled at the vivid memory that crossed your mind.
You thought back to that day when everyone was present, celebrating and just pure happiness. You remembered Megumi tackling Yuuji when he was about to feed your baby he didn’t know your daughter could not eat. You remembered Panda with your baby lying on its stomach and Inumaki shoving toys to your daughter to amuse it. You remember Gojo arriving late with a bag full of sweets to which Choso took eagerly. You remembered Nobara continuously flaunting her outfit. You remembered Maki and Nanami just being there. And you remembered looking at everyone, just taking in that moment and storing it inside your treasured memories. You remembered the atmosphere, the calm and the chaos in the house. The hot rays of the sun shielded by the window pane. You remembered that moment and longed to return to that day.
Blinking, you were snapped back to reality. You took note that the atmosphere was the same as that day. You smiled, eyes tired even though you only just woke up. You glanced at Choso’s hands that clung onto yours, it was tight but he held you as if you were fragile glass. You knew he’s worried and so you moved your hand and intertwined it with his. Choso stirred awake, licking his dried lips as he leaned up from his position “Hey” he said, his voice cracking slightly. He looked tired, the look in his eyes told you they’ve lived for so long. They’ve seen so much yet his face was still the same. His body looked the same, everything looked the same. His youthful face hid the hundreds of years he’s lived.
He smiled- oh his smile. His smile is something you never got over. When you first knew Choso, you would have never guessed that he could be so expressive. With his indifferent mien, even at the start of your relationship, you would always be so surprised to see another expression on his face. You loved it especially when he has this confused, wondering face. You always found it so cute. You found everything he does cute. It scared you just how much you’re in love him. But you could never imagine nor wish for a better life because the life you have with Choso by your side is a life you would never bargain anything for. You are content and you are in love. You didn’t even realize it but Choso became your life. The little world and family you’ve built with him, it’s yours and his. No life was better than this.
“Morning” Choso scooted his seat closer to your bed, he had his elbows on the soft mattress, taking your hand to his lips. “It’s afternoon, silly” You weakly told him, softly chuckling. You felt him smile in your hands and you gazed at him adoringly “I see you’ve been looking at the scrapbook again”
“Yeah” Choso pulled away from your hands and flipped the scrapbook to the next page “I guess I fell asleep while doing so” He mused. He stopped and you looked at the page to see a picture of you and him decades ago. It was a selfie when you two eloped that one fateful night. The two of you never planned for a wedding nor did you think you would ever get married. It was never a thought in your mind but during that night, Choso looked so beautiful. Even with his mouthful of tacos you grabbed on the way to Panda’s birthday, something about the night with the streetlights and the swarm of people highlighted Choso in your eyes. And at the bus stop, just as you were about to get on it, you pulled Choso into a halt and waited until the crowd got on the bus before you spoke “Will you marry me?”
You both skipped on Panda’s birthday and got married. It was a decisive decision but no doubt the best you’ve ever made. A year later after that, your daughter was born and you swore, Choso had never glowed brighter. Your heart felt soft whenever you see your daughter and husband bonding. And the sight of your daughter cuddled up against Choso made you feel so thankful that these beautiful people are part of your life. Because of them, life was so much brighter.
You and Choso bore four more children after that. To say that life is noisy is an understandment but the noise made you happy anyway (albeit stressed). You stopped at baby number 5, with your eldest being 15 at the time. As expected, your daughter became a sorcerer, proving to be much stronger than either of you with a cursed technique she invented on her own. Your second didn’t follow onto the jujutsu society and made a life of his own outside the dangers of your reality. Your third inherited Choso’s blood manipulation and was almost bought by the Kamo clan but of course, you and Choso shielded your child away from the mess that is clan families. Your fourth also became a jujutsu sorcerer and your youngest inherited your cursed technique. All in all, your children now had lives of their own with all of them being fully fledged adults.
With a sigh, you yawned, reaching out for the scrapbook and putting it on your lap. You flipped to the next page and a grin etched on your face. You giggled, motioning to Choso the scrapbook. It was you and Choso all those years ago before you were married. It was that day out when Choso kissed you on the ferris wheel. It was when you two were sitting on the sea wall when he secretly snapped a picture of you looking the other way. A glint flashed through Choso’s eyes, his lips mirroring your grin. Choso traced the design by the photo, it was a bunch of lollipop wrappers you two had been eating when you were designing this specific page. He remembered you chastising him for almost emptying the packet of lollipops. Chuckling, he turned to look at you to see you looking at him so lovingly “I love you” you told him and Choso felt his chest tighten. It was a wonder how you still had so much effect on him when you had literally spend your lifetime together “And I love you”
Choso examined the wrinkles in your eyes when you smiled. Your once smooth skin was now wrinkled out of old age. Your once vibrant hair is now a dull white. Both your eyes now have a cataract that clouded your sight. And your lips remain chapped no matter how many times you apply a lip balm. But even with all these things you’ve obtained as you aged, you still looked so darn beautiful. It was no secret that his never changing youth made you insecure. You wished he could age up with you but realized that was selfish and so you brushed off these thoughts. What you didn’t know is that Choso also wished the same. He wished he could grow old with you and get wrinkly together.
It was cruel how he couldn’t age with you. If you thought about it, he’s actually more than a century older than you yet here you are, minutes away from letting go. Choso clutched your hands, his eyes shaking as you breathed frailly. He breathed out your name, tears brimming in his eyes. He let out a whimper when you called his name, hiding in the cold of your hands “Choso” You repeated, feeling a pang on your chest. You leaned forward to embrace him, trapping him in your arms resulting in Choso to lean on your shoulder, letting out a quiet cry.
You cooed, kissing his temple before hiding your face in his hair, his locks drying the tears that fell on your cheeks. “Don’t go” He cried, his voice muffled “Not you too” His voice cracked causing your arms to tighten around him “Choso, Choso” With that, Choso looked you in the eyes.
“Please never be alone-” You paused, composing yourself. Choso held your cheeks as you continued “-find someone-” “I could never love someone else other than you” Choso said committedly. You gave him a look before you continued “-please, please don’t blame yourself” You held his cheeks, giving him a soft smile as you plead “And please don’t be sad”
You broke, Choso catching your tears with his mouth. Planting kisses on your face, Choso savored you in. The both of you could feel it. It was the worst feeling ever. But thinking back to your life, it was never short of happiness. Choso was the pill that gave you the energy to live your fullest. He was the reason you found a purpose in life and became a mother of five. He was the reason you ever felt true happiness. And thinking back to all those memories, you can confidently say that you left this world with no regrets.

A snowflake fell on Choso’s nose causing it to twitch at the contact. It was cold and Choso stood in the midst of the crowd, unmoving as stone. He sighed, a cloud forming in front of his mouth. Yuuji had called him to meet him in the plaza in front of the huge clock that stood tall in the middle of the park. Choso scanned his surroundings and took note of the large crowd that flocked together at night. It was the night before Christmas eve and Choso was alone. His children all had their own families to tend to. The original plan was to celebrate at his home but plans tend to change and Choso ended up alone. If not for Yuuji, he would probably be asleep by now.
“Choso!” Hearing someone call out his name, Choso turned to see his brother and his friend, Megumi, heading his way. Yuuji’s pink hair is now white, his smile now has wrinkles on them. It was the same with Megumi and Choso remembered he couldn’t age. It made him sigh, wanting nothing but age together with the people he cares about. It bothered him so much, especially with his eldest child looking much older than him. It was unfair, Choso wailed to the gods.
Choso let them pull him wherever, going along with the flow. But even with the boisterous laughs of his brother and the chatter that filled his ears, he felt alone. He was surrounded by people yet he felt so cold. Sighing for the umpteenth time that day, Choso going along wherever his companions went.
This didn’t go unnoticed by Yuuji. He was worried about his brother which is why he called him in the first place. His legs hurt from old age but if it means his brother would feel better, he would go out in the cold to walk with him. Megumi already went home and Yuuji is walking Choso home. He noted the faraway look Choso held. Yuuji felt sad at the sight. He remembered how Choso shined when you were still alive. But the Choso walking beside him now was nothing but the shell left of his body. His eyes held no soul, that is until Choso’s eyes landed on the ferris wheel.
It was the same ferris wheel as back then. Like before, it flickered in different lights, switching its color as it rotated. Choso held a cry, feeling a lump in his throat. You. Oh, you. He is so in love with you still. He saw that yellow pod, though unsure if it was the one, his heart ached at the memory of you. His heart always aches every second of the day. You, he thought of you. He felt the linger of your touch on his skin, your breath as you laughed against him. He felt your kisses and the love you felt for him. The clutch of your fingers as you held onto him. He felt you.
He breathed in the cold air, taking his eyes off the ferris wheel into the night sky. The jet black sky was painted with the white of the snowflakes that fell. One dropped on his cheek and rolled down the same time a tear fell down from his hollow eyes. A breath left his throat, a smoke coming out of his mouth. He will find you, he is determined to find you. No matter how long it takes. No matter what millennia he meets you again. He will be there and you would be in his arms again. He will tell you the stories he’s lived and live another lifetime with you. No matter how many lifetimes, what matters is he’s with you.
Another set of tears run down his cheeks. He misses you but he will live on. He will live on.
He will live on.

yuuji dating nanami‘s daughter
cw: grammar errors, making out, mention of hickeys and love bites
genre: fluff, slight nsfw
format: headcanon, drabble
pronouns: she/her
how you met;
- okay so WHAT has this boy got himself into?
- the first time he laid his eyes on you he felt like in a romance manga
- immediately asking megumi who this fellow classmate is
- boy lost his social skill by approaching you immediately
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
"hey! i‘m ita-" the pink haired boy tries to say why he walks over to you, already lifting a hand.
"oh, hey." you elegantly turn around. is the sun brighter on your skin or is this shinning around you normal? "i, ehh..."
you giggle and hide your mouth quickly with your hand as you see the pink haired boy blushing.
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
- yuuji.exe stopped working
- boy is a isjp pisces, he WON‘T be rational
- from there one he follows you everywhere around, not that you mind, it‘s cute
- he just loves your warm aura and smile, and laugh, and the way you would talk about your interest, the way you would listen to him even though he‘s stammering or talking nonsense
- sukuna makes fun of him for running behind a woman like that but yuuji couldn‘t mind less
- since you grew up in tokyo, you show him all your favorite shops and restaurants
- insist in paying for your food and carrying all you shopping bags
- always tries to go alone with you so it feels more like a date
- being pouty when megumi/nobara joins since he likes to be alone with you
- everyone including you knows about his huge crush, it’s public knowledge
- you‘re not the mean type so you don‘t say no, you even enjoy getting his attention (bro, i would)
- he even arranges a WHOLE picnic date for you, which his brother todo suggest, guaranteeing he will get you with that
- yes you develop a pretty cute relationship and faster than you know, you start dating ♡
him finding out your nanamis daughter;
- boy was never this shocked/surprised in his life, not even when he found out he got possessed by a 1000 year old curse
-was definitely after the time nanami tutored him so he knew this man and your personalities were quite different
- you always talked about your lovely dad, who adopted you when you were 10, made you these cute lunch boxes with panda formed onigiri, would sing you lullabies, spoiled you and were literally such a softy..................for you
- yes, all these things were about the nanami kento
- even gojou didn’t knew you were his daughter, literally nanami told non of his fellow sorcerer about you
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
"[y/n]....does he know, we date?" yuuji asked you, still shocked about the reveal. you chuckled slightly and then looked shamefully away.
"[y/n]!"
"i‘m sorry...the thing is, he‘s just really protective of me and to convince him attending jujutsu high was already hard, but to get a boyfriend...." you sighed, remembering how he would literally flinch when he heard some stranger male name come out of your mouth.
yuuji hide his face frustrated in your chest, while you were going with your hand through his fluffy hair. "don‘t worry, he will be maybe a bit mad that i didn‘t told him earlier but he won‘t do actually anything." you tried to ressure your boyfriend.
he lifted his face a bit and smiled sadly. "and what if he kills me?" you cupped his cheeks. "he won‘t, because i love you."
how nanami finds out yuuji dates you;
- lemme prepare my tee, because the drama is getting hot in here
- there were many times nanami almost caught you...
- one of them: when you were in your room, making out, you on his lap, bruising each others lip while leaving love marks on your necks. what you didn‘t see coming was nanami heading to your room to check up on his little daughter. so when you heard him talking in the corridor with gojou you two went apart faster than sukuna could cut pizza slices, re-arranged your clothes and placing yourselves both apart as far as you could — it was close, too close.
- so a reminder to the hickeys, yuuji did them all the time despite you telling him to stop
- BUT this boy LOVED touching you, and hugging you from behind while you sit on his lap, kissing your neck and do them love bites and spots
- and you weren‘t innocent too, since you always caught yourself moving your mouth to his perfect jawline and throat, doing more than just kissing
- so nanami wasn‘t stupid, silly of you two to think he wouldn‘t connect the dots
- yuuji having these dark spots on his neck once in a while when he sees him, scolding him for walking around like that
- seeing you having the similar spots on your throat, just that you always tell him it was your heated curler
- as i said, he‘s not stupid
- and a pattern of events showed when he sometimes wanted to check on you whenever he was in the jujutsu facility just to find you 'studying' with yuuji in his or your room, being busy jogging with him or currently hanging in the city
- it was always yuuji, rarely megumi, nobara or some other student
- and yuuji having these marks on his skin but never been seen with a girlfriend or rather a different girl than his precious daughter
- and you having these similar dark spots
- you two are dating in secret in front of him but not making it look really secretive
- so when he was sure his assumption were right he did was had to be done and called gojou for a meeting who happily accepted
- he asked his white haired colleague straightforward
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
"is itadori dating y/n?" the seriousness in his voice was impossible to miss and even though gojou wasn‘t any of them both, he felt caught and like he was in trouble.
his face was answer already answer enough. "nanami...i wanted to tell you, hehehe." gojou laughed nervously and started to panic eat his mochis.
the anger built up inside of nanami, he felt fooled. "no you didn‘t and they too."
how nanami confronts you tw0;
- it was a nice afternoon on a weekend
- your lovely dad invited you to a dinner, just the both of you like always
- different than your usual dinners, he insisted to cook the food alone
- you didn‘t think much of it, assuming he wanted to surprise you with something so you happily arrived in front of your apartment
- but when you entered your dinner room you were surprised to not only see that perfect cooked food but also your boyfriend, sitting on the table, uncomfortable looking down
- "hey, ba- ahem, i mean y/n." he looked so pale you had the urge to check up on him but you couldn’t move, not with this stare on your side
- nanami pulled the chair beside yuuji back "common, sit down y/n."
- nanami smiled slightly making this whole scenario more frightening
- you looked at yuuji while you sit down, meeting your panic with his
- yes you two were f*cked
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
"you didn‘t bothered to inform me of your relationship?" nanami took a sip from his drink, enjoying the position he was in.
you chocked on air. there was no way you would get out of this easy. yuuji‘s palms were sweating while he rubbed them against each other. like a reflex, you placed your hand on top of his to get him calm, just a little.
"dad, i...." you squeezed your boyfriend’s hand. "i really wanted to tell about....us, but-"
"but what? you forgot? never had the right moment? for 7 months?"
yuuji and your gaze met again. Gojou!
"listen dad, when we started dating so suddenly and i knew how you felt about me having a boyfriend...i just really was afraid." this time yuuji squeezed your hand, hoping the comfort would make you feel less anxious right now.
"you shouldn‘t be afraid to tell me the truth and hide a relationships." his tone was less angry or threatening, more soft and you felt safer. nanami‘s gaze went to yuuji. "and to you itadori."
itadori startled. not his turn. "i won‘t forgive you that you didn‘t told me and as my daughters boyfriend, you have to earn my trust, until then i will have an extra eye on you." his eyes were piercing yuuji‘s soul and he felt like losing it.
he already got his girlfriend‘s dad on his bad side and it was also his tutor.
you felt more than just relieved. a warm smile slipped up your mouth. "thank you, dad! thanks for your forgiveness, your the best." you stood up and walked up to him, hugging him tightly. he stroked your lower back, while he was still glaring deadly at yuuji.
just when you were about to sit down, your dad continued . "you two will come to dinner every two weeks, no skipping or excuses." you eagerly nod, with a big smile on your mouth, while yuuji just nod, still pale. i have to do this again....
"but." you two eye pairs shot to nanami‘s. this but had an undertone which screamed alert.
"if i ever again see one of you with one of these shameful dark spots on your skin, walking around like that in public like that, and espacially you y/n, then i promise that next time we won‘t just have a normal dinner and i will make sure you two will never have the chance to spend a single second together, alone. do you understand me?
the hickeys. how embarrassing.
you hide your face in you palms, not daring to met your father‘s eyes right now.
"yes, mr. nanami." yuuji chocked out. they didn‘t even start easting and he already had 2 silent panic attacks. this would be a long evening.
your relationship since nanami knows;
- since that one dinner your relationship didn‘t change much
- nanami started always asking if you‘re with yuuji right now before he went to your room
- lowkey he started dislinking and liking him more, it‘s hard to describe
- nanami still don‘t trust yuuji for dating his daughter behind his back but likes to see how happy he makes you
- he knew he had to accept that you would someday be in a relationship it was just so suddenly for him and the fact that you tried to hide it for 7 months
- yuuji took the hickey rule seriously and since that day he had a fear of kissing your neck
- you had to convince him that as long as he wouldn‘t suck or bite your throat/neck there won‘t be anything
- he also didn‘t touch your throat or neck for like a month since when he once laid his hand on your neck while you two were cuddling, sukuna‘s mouth appeared and he just bite
- yes, he bite you.
- you had to cover that mark with make up and yuuji even brought you a scarf in panic nanami would find out
- and oh how yuuji feared the first few dinners u have
- it felt always like a subtitle interview and he thought with everything he said he would mess up a little more
- after a few times they became better and it started to actually be more relaxed
- yuuji even started to celebrate some holidays with you two
- so yeah, after nanami started trusting that boy again he could sleep peacefully at night, knowing his daughter was dating a faithful guy
- still he wouldn’t tell yuuji that he was completely okay with that to keep him humbling
- he definitely hesitates before he touches you for a time because he always sees this glare
- yuuji would also definitely be the type of guy who asked for your dad’s permission before he proposes[in the future] and he would definitely asked nanami
- yuuji is definetly the type of guy who ressures your dad every time he sees him that he would die for you
- nanami totally likes that yuuji see‘s him so much as an authority, even in your relationship even though you tell your boyfriend he don‘t have to be so formal in every situation
- not having to hide your relationship anymore[even though it‘s just for nanami] took a burden of you two
- so yeah, you’re relationship evolved and also yuuji‘s with nanami’s made a shift

((Spoilers for up to chapter 125 of JJK))
I’ve been wanting to tackle this topic for awhile now and have touched on it super briefly before, but I want to explore what kind of dynamic itadori and fushi have, the effect it has on them, and how the events of the shibuya arc will possibly impact them in future arcs. In previous instances I feel I had a stronger ground to stand on in terms of things like “evidence” and things like that, but this time around will have a lot more speculation and personal interpretation than usual.
So, with that being said, let's begin by first talking about fushi’s decision to save itadori in the first arc. We know now that it was a selfish choice fueled by personal desire and it completely ignored the potential consequences that spring up later in the manga. Now, fushi isn’t dumb, he knew exactly what he was doing: right before gojo swoops in the save the day he was readying to kill itadori. But he doesn't, and ends up thrusting itadori into a world where he will be forced to kill people and be bombarded with constant suffering and he knows this. And that’s why it hurts when itadori says that he’s a reliable, nice person. Fushi might have saved itadori, and itadori might be grateful for that, but later effects of these actions are MASSIVE and are a result of fushi’s decision.
The guilt of being the person to put itadori in this position would eat fushi up inside and lead him to want to protect itadori as much as he can, to make sure that him keeping itadori alive isn't in vain. The same goes for itadori but in a different kind of way. Itadori was saved by fushi, so i think it’s only right that he wants to keep fushi safe as well, as a show of thanks and appreciation as well as also making sure that fushi’s actions weren’t in vain. They protect each other and save each other and look out for each other to ensure that the events that played out in the beginning aren’t something that will be a regret later. But they can’t always protect each other, they fail, and it's important to think about how that impacts how they see themselves and one another given that their dynamic is centered around protection. (As a quick sidebar here i think a great example of this sort of “protecting” is when they both lied to each other that they’d meet up again after they parted from their battle with awakasa in chapter 95. Like,,, they both “”died”” and were willing to die during their respective fights, but said those things to each other to protect one another even though they knew that wasn’t realistic).
Fushi fails to save itadori which leads him to die. That makes him feel guilty and weak asf and so when he finds out that itadori is actually alive, that makes him want to get stronger so that he won’t lose him again (though he was already working towards that). For itadori, there are a few more layers to this: he failed to save junpei, keep sukuna in check, save nanami and nobara, and kill mahito among other things. Itadori wants to protect ppl, he wants to save ppl bc that is the only thing he’s good for. And if he can’t do that, then he is better off dead, at least in his eyes. While it pushes him to become stronger, it makes him fixated on the wellbeing of others rather than himself. I think the one thing left keeping him on the ground is what fushi said to him: that he didn’t regret saving him, not once. However, if Fushi knows abt this failure, if he knows abt this mass loss of life that came abt bc of itadori, will he regret saving him then? We can see this fear best towards the end of the origin of obedience arc after the two learn that sukuna’s fingers are resonating as a result of itadori eating one of them:
What fushi asked itadori in the cursed womb arc is extremely important here because they've now become the people in that scenario. Fushi is the savior of a murderer and itadori is a murderer that was saved. I can’t help but just see itadori thinking, “you saved me and this is how i repay you: with blood.” While both parties withhold this information from each other in order to protect the other, I believe it was also to protect themselves in a way. If fushi regrets saving itadori, then that reaffirms itadori’s self-sacrificing tendencies and will make him want to die even more than he already does. But I think it's important to specify the kind of regret that fushi could possibly feel here: he could regret being the reason that itadori has to suffer or he could regret saving someone who killed hundreds of ppl, or both. Of course he could also have none at all, but I can still see a potential tug-o-war in his mind over how he should even feel abt itadori at this point whenever all this information comes to light. In general though I just think this next period will be extremely hard, not just for them but everyone, having to cope with the responsibility, with the guilt of being the reason for others sufferings and struggling with facing those facts. While the blood may be on itadori’s hands, i think they trickle down to fushi’s, too.
As much as I’d love for them to have this great sit down discussion to sort all of this shit out, i don’t think that’s realistic at all. In fact, i can honestly see them avoiding each other like the plague after this arc (itadori would probably isolate himself from everyone tho tbh), and if they do talk it will be just as brief, if not more brief than before and filled to the brink with tension. I can also see another argument between the two happening as well, but we’ll just have to wait and see where this goes.
The more I think abt this whole situation, the more complex I realize it is, and I kind of curse myself for not being able to elaborate on it better. I'm sort of just barfing out text and hoping it makes sense and that the message gets across. And the more I write about these two the more I also realize how fucked this all is, like everyone feels guilty, everyone feels unworthy and like scum here, even if they really aren’t and it's completely unavoidable. How do you even patch this up? How do you “get over'' this when the events that lead to the mass killing of hundreds of people are so deeply rooted in one event that built the basis for your relationship with that other person? Jfc, and the fact that this is only a *crumb* of the possible ramifications of this arc and probably doesn’t matter that much in the grand scheme of the manga just shows how fucking insane the shibuya arc really is.
#jjk spoilers#jjk#jjk manga spoilers#jjk manga#itafushi#fushiita#im so sad why tf did i write this??#had to write this twice bc i lost the first draft haha kill me

Blood is Thicker
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 102 Shibuya Incident, Part 20 Analysis Jujutsu Kaisen is a manga that balances character development and thesmes with the fights. There are sometimes entire chapters built around one idea. Last week’s chapter was one such chapter as both fights that between Choso and Yuji, and Mei Mei and Getou centered around the theme of sibling relationships.
Choso and Mei Mei are the literal definition of opposites. One male, one female. One is a curse human hybrid, the other a Jujutsu Sorcerer who exercises curses. One inherited a powerful curse technique from the Kamo Bloodline (blood manipulation) the other had to become strong through creative use of her traditionally weak curse technique. However, what makes them the most different is the way they approach their relationships with their siblings.
Choso is genuinely saddened and vengeful over the death of his brothers, reacting to it the way any human might. While Mei Mei does the complete opposite, she tells her brother to die for her sake in the same chapter. Choso’s entire existence is dedicated to finding the rest of his brothers, and Mei Mei uses her brother as live bait to win against an enemy. There’s a lot we can learn from these two characters just from the way they treat their brothers.
1. Choso the Human Curse
At the end of the Origin of Obedience Arc, Yuji and Nobara have a moral debate on whether they should feel any different about needing to kill the hybrids as opposed to exercising a curse. As despite the fact that they had to defend themselves and didn’t have much of a choice, they still killed something capable of crying for his brother who died in front of him the same way any human would.
Curses are born from negative human emotions, but Choso and his brothers quite literally were born into this world with a mother the same way most humans were. Hanami was born out of a desire to save nature from human pollution. Mahito was born of the fear of other humans. However, during the origin of obedience arcs it’s not specified just what negative grudge gave rise to the curse spirits of the three brothers.
However there is important symbolism with them. One, they are represented by aborted fetuses (because that’s what they literally are) so symbolically they are children who were never given the chance to be born. Or even children who should never have been born. They were born into this world from a mother, and yet because they’re just the creation of some mad sorcerer’s whims they were never meant to exist.
The only tangible thing the brothers have known for hundreds of years is each other. Which means the only motivation they really have is the connection they share with one another.
Choso even says so outright. They don’t really believe the same thing that Jogo, Mahito and the rest of the curses believe that curses have the right to exist as the true humans, but a world where curses are in control without jujutsu sorcerers is a world where they’re allowed to exist. They don’t have to be sealed away as fetsuses whose only awareness is a psychic link with one another.
So if you think about it that way, the goal of all three of the curse wombs is to be born. While their relationship mirrors that of human siblings, because all they’ve ever really had is contact with one another their relationship is closer than human siblings to ever are. They consider themselves three parts of the same body. Each member of the siblings would do anything for other two, because all of them are three equals, three parts of the same whole. They don’t even see each other as separate people, not really.
These insane levels of devotion are why instead of retreating to live another day, both brothers fight until they die for the sake of completing the objective Choso gave them. They don’t really distinguish themselves as individuals so even if both of them died, and Choso lived on, then Choso would be living on for the both of them.
The irony of the three curse womb brothers is that despite them being freaks of nature, half human hybrid, they have the most human and relatable motivations of the curses so far. So much so it even gives Yuuji pause. Choso is trying to avenge his brothers, and then free the rest of his remaining six brothers from their seal so they can live.
Choso’s entire character is designed around family ties and connection. The Kyoto student he foils and shares the exact same jujutsu technique and association with the Kamo clan with, also has a motivation that revolves around his attachment to his mothers. Choso manipualtes blood, blood ties are the symbol for family.
Choso generally acts stoic and aloof compared to the other curses, and yet he’s also the curse to display the most raw human emotion so far.
Choso is represented by ties, connections, restrictions and most of all the loyalty he feels towards his family. Choso is also the most powerful of the three and sees it as his job to protect / avenge them above all else. His duty is always towards his family.
2. Mei Mei
Mei Mei is not a character we know a lot about yet, but there are two interesting facts established about her right from her introduction. If Choso is someone too connected to his own siblings, then Mei Mei lives disconnected from anyone around her. She even says herself she doesn’t understand any connections that aren’t based on money.
The second hints at how ruthless she is. She seems to have noticed what was going on in Kyoto High School’s attempt to kill Yuji, but when confonted by Gojou she plays clueless and refuses to take either side.
Mei Mei is then someone established to be always on her own side. That doesn’t mean she’s necessarily a bad person. Gojou himself is a character who has very selfish motivations, but he’s also an extremely moral person who always uses his tremendous strength for others rather than for himself. Her neutrality is in fact good in some ways, because she doesn’t seem to be alligned with the corrupt side of the Jujutsu world obsessed with family ties and tradition. The second thing to notice about Mei Mei is that she seems to value strength the same way that Gojou does. She doesn’t care about the Zenin family’s politics and only sees Maki for her strength.
In Hidden Inventory, Gojou also identifies Mei Mei as someone strong who would never cry unlike Utahime. So, regardless of where Mei Mei’s loyalties lie she has a mindset very similiar to Gojou’s. She prioritizes herself and her own strength above everything else. However, she does get along with Utahime just fine, so it’s not like she’s incapable of making friends or caring about them as far as we’ve seen.
Mei Mei is introduced in the Shibuya arc with her younger brother, Ui Ui. This is where her foiling becomes clear, Ui Ui says quite frnakly that Ui Ui doesn’t really love her family, that she cares more about work than anything else. The two of them are opposites, if Choso will always choose his brothers over everything else, then Mei Mei will always choose himself.
Mei Mei’s fights later in the arc have been slowly revealing more about her character. That unlike Choso who was born with an incredibly strong and violent cursed technique, Mei Mei was born with one that you’d consider to be weak at first brush.
Mei Mei’s Gojou-like fixation on strength most likely comes from having to survive in the world of Jujutsu Sorcery with a traditionally weak technique, especially since a lot of sorcerers value having a strong technique over everything else.
Mei Mei also refers to herself as having almost given up after being crushed by her failure to improve herself after that, and is claims she herself had to go back and try something different in order to become a strong as she did today.
At that point Mei Mei’s relationship with her brother becomes incredibly suspicious. Remember, Nanami said just a few chapters ago that it’s dangerous to drag children into combat. Ui Ui looks barely older than thirteen if that, and yet he’s acting like a miniature adult. Not only that but Ui Ui is completely obsessed with his sister.
His entire sense of self worth is modeled around being useful to her. This is just speculation at this point entirely, but there’s a case for family members being used and abused in the Jujutsu World before this. Toji was going to sell his own son to the Zenin clan for money. Mechamaru’s parents kept their incredibly ill son in a tank and forced him to become a jujutsu sorcerer because his potential was so high.
In the same chapter that Choso is mourning the deaths of his siblings, Mei Mei callously asks Ui Ui to die for her. She uses her own brother and his loyalty to her as the second half of her cursed technique, to use simple domains to cancel out domains.
Once again this is just speculation but, considering Ui Ui’s unnatural devotion to his sister, the fact that he’s so young, and also the fact that Mei Mei once fell into despair over her inability to advance her own jujutsu technique could Mei Mei have purposefully raised her own younger brother as a weapon to be a part of her technique? Almost everything we’ve been shown so far indicates a really unhealthy and one sided relationship between the two siblings at least.
It could be that Mei Mei is so convinced of her own strength that she doesn’t really see herself as putting her brother’s life at risk. Gojou pulls a similiar move in volume zero. He sends his students specifically into life threatening danger without supervision as a part of his plan. He didn’t necessarily intend any harm, he was just so confident in the fact that he was right he didn’t really see it as needlessly risking the live’s of children the same way Nanami would.
Nanami’s viewpoint that children shouldn’t be actively exposed to danger that’s out of their depth is being shown, more and more often to be a rarity in the jujutsu world. This is of course the same world that gave Yuji, Megumi and Nobara an incredibly dangerous mission just for the sake of killing Yuji not caring that there would be two other casualties.
So even if Mei Mei doesn’t really specifically mean any harm to Ui Ui, she’s still being reckless with his life, in a way that contrasts how protective Choso and his brothers were of each other. In both cases the siblings are unnaturally close, but Choso considered him and the others all a part of the same person, all of them were equal, while Ui Ui seems to exist as an accessory to Mei Mei.
That’s the contrast presented for us this chapter. An inhuman freak of nature curse spirit like Choso genuinely valued the life of his younger brothers in a really human way. While the human Jujutsu Sorcerer is cold and detached, using her younger brother as some kind of tool to benefit her. Choso who can’t get over the deaths of his two brothers, and Mei Mei who risks the life of her younger brother like it’s nothing to save herself.
