believe it or not giving your money to a bot network is not a virtuous act just bc you thought it was a real fundraiser. your good intent does not matter if your actions have zero positive impact.
#like sorry if it makes you feel bad to think that fundraisers may be scams but it's true. like factually verifiably true.#like literally what is the issue w donating to a larger organization or at least something like esims#like the core issue here is a. the war itself and b. other arab countries refusing refugees#and people have convinced themselves that this is like... inevitable and the only solution is to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars#into helping individual families and totally give up on more widespread change#those families certainly do deserve the help im not arguing that. but they should not have to spend that much money to escape war#in the fucking first place like. idfk man#and atp people aren't even doing that with the rampant spambots. whatever#ive been tracking news on aid orgs since oct 7 fwiw and they very much have been allowed in to distribute supplies like#you r not pissing your money away by giving to UNRWA or olive branch man
