the fellowship and if i’d punch them in the face and likelihood of me doing so:

note: i have punched people in the face exactly two (2) times in my life. once when we were kids i decked my sister on the trampoline and most recently i hit a friend in my sleep when reaching for my alarm in a dazed state. the likelihood of me punching anyone in the face, intentionally and maliciously is very, very slim.

sam: no. is a really good friend and person. least punchable out of the hobbits and i feel like if we’d got in a fight it would end up with dirt being flung at each other not punches. worse case scenario i feel like if we really got into it it would be passive aggressive or cast-iron based bludgeoning. 2/10 would not harm a hair on this man’s toes

merry: no. he has little cousin energy- i’d give him a noogie and pinch his cheeks but never sock him in the face. i could see us roughhousing and maybe even exchange blows but in the face? nah. just look at the little guy. i love his lopsided lil smirk. 4/10 limited fisticuffs, nothing serious

pippin: yes. he seems like he needs a good face full of knuckles and who am i to deny him. especially when he was younger. i like the dude but it just seems like something that would happen. im sure gandalf would slip me a pocket full of coins after. 8/10 would clobber this fellow

gimli: no. one of least punchable of the fellowship in my eyes- one, because he would absolutely body me if i so much as raised a hand and two because i would never. he’d have to say some pretty insane shit to even get me to consider. 1/10 no jabs ever exchanged

gandalf: maybe. it can go either way. on the one hand, he is an immortal demi god who has been through hell and back so what’s one more fist to the face- on the other hand he takes the form of a grandpa which means i’d have a harder time mentally. however i’m naturally predisposed to punching wizards so given the right opportunity, yes. 5/10 chance of slugging

aragorn: no. he’d drop kick me to valinor before i could even raise my fist. also, he just seems like a chill guy. i feel like the only possible reason id ever even consider fighting this man is if i needed to die honorably very quickly and by a noble hand or if i had a chance at winning arwens hand, like a joust for the princess of sorts. i’d still lose, though. 2/10, id absolutely miss any hit thrown his way. complete biffage.

boromir: no. i’d let this man punch me and thank him for it. he is a fundamentally like able dude. how could i harm this beautiful man, a single father of two full grown adult hobbits. i just have so much love for him in my heart that i can’t even imagine raising a hand against him. 0/10 will not lay a finger on this lovely large lad.

you literally can't win

at this point the writer's strike should just be a cultural movement

like ppl are writing for FREE and you're complaining about turn out rate and shit

we have lives and some of us (HELL ALL OF US) have some form of mental illness, so we can't be fucking cogs all day and churn out fics.

writing is suppose to be therapeutic and writers want to share that with you to ease the tension of this hellscape we live in

but some of these readers and even fellow writers are taking it too far with the bullying

like its mean and nasty. you don't know what someone is going thru.

instead of asking for updates how about check and see if your writer is mentally stable to do so. that right there is a booster, to have someone say "are you okay?"

and then the whole accusations of favoring a certain member/character. if that person is my muse or safe space then of course imma write for them. most solo writers i see don't even talk bad about other people. its a SOLO account. think of it as a shrine blog of writing if that helps. they're not there to trash, just share their writing for other's who might also share the same muse.

then you have readers who can't separate fiction from reality. just because someone writes a character with irl people faceclaimed onto them doesnt mean they actually think that person would be or do those things irl. i'll be the first to say that i only gave my characters bts faces cuz thats who im attracted to and they're who i imagine would be casted to play my characters.

then IN THE YEAR OF 2023 we still have ppl making fun of their peers writing and also THE FACT THAT ENGLISH MIGHT NOT BE THEIR FIRST LANGUAGE? that's nasty asf. majority of us dont even speak 'proper' english as our first language no way. you only shooting yourself in the foot. don't act like you dont have beta readers... like what are yall on?

and anybody who gets on THAT BLOG behind anon is an opp. not just to the writing community but in how you interact with the world all together. yall don't know how to talk to people anymore? it may have started as a place for critique and accountability but no one is bringing receipts or critical thinking anymore. its mainly for drama and not rehabilitation. yall serious scare me in how we'd see the reality of social change applied to the real world. like i'd be more scared to let yall around the prisoners with minor offenses cuz yall act like its the end of the world and that change cant happen. yall give nobody room to change ignorant stances but ignore the real egregious shit because you honestly dont have the bandwidth to take on actual fascist views.

also the plagiarism has got to stop too. if you need writing resources just ask. but practice makes perfect. so you're gonna have to write yourself. you may not like your writers voice but you will feel shitty in the long run when you don't feel like its you putting those words on the paper. it literally just prolongs your inferiority. make something you're proud of and don't hurt your fellow writers. we went thru the process just like you. we earned it. and most of us aren't gatekeepers, we will help you.

“Sorry, Didn’t mean to. God, you look pretty.” He kisses me, the little beard he has going scratchy on my skin, but I kiss him back, not willing to deny him after not seeing him all day. He keeps going, hauls me up onto the counter with gloved hands on my hips, still in his work clothes, his kisses turning a little less loving, more sensual, his beard becoming painful, my hand in his hair getting him to pull back. “Damn, you’re not in the mood?” I huff a laugh, shaking my head at him, his clippedness something I spent a long time getting used to, used to think he was being an asshole, when really that’s just him, straight to the point, not one to waste time. 

“No it’s- I am- Just, you’re… hurting me.” I rub at the sides of his jaw, giving him a fake disturbed look he does not seem to enjoy, frowning at me and pulling my hands away and down on top of my thighs. “You need to shave.” He gives me a look, unimpressed, eyes cast down, staring unabashedly at my chest, utterly obvious, not that I mind, just never expected his overt love for boobs, well, my boobs, he says, idiot. 

“Later. I have some uh- Things to attend to…” He’s being goofy, giving me a little smirk as he runs his fingers up, teasing over the underside of my breast, more teasing himself than me, we both know where this goes, his face shoved between them, lips and hands lathing them with attention, time spent against my chest one of his favorite ways to spend any time off he can catch, and I indulge him every time, even if he is rather silly, a grown ass man entirely obsessed with boobs. 

“Hey.” I grab his hand, and the other, holding them off to either side and giving him an authoritative look, well aware I’m not even close to menacing, especially to him, but he’ll listen anyways, with what I’m willing to threaten. “You are not “attending” to anything until you shave, Le.” He frowns, debating it, staring longingly down before testing my grip, pulling gently against it, my hands still tight around his wrists, even if he could easily break free, he plays along. 

“You’re serious? Sweetheart, I’m-”

“Shave, then we’ll talk, yeah?” I give him a quick kiss, pushing against him to get him going, but he doesn’t go anywhere, chases my lips for one more kiss and pulls back to look into my eyes. 

“You shave me.” He apparently has forgotten his manners, demanding I shave for him, something I’ve offered a couple of times before, and he thoroughly enjoys, just getting to stare at me while I do all the work, and I get to do the same, so I don’t mind. “Please?” He ducks down, placing quick, messy kisses to my neck, speaking between slick presses of his lips to my throat. “Please..? Please…? Plea-” “Fine!” I pull him back by his hair, his smile wide despite the definite burn of his scalp, pleased at my agreement, even if I am playing at exasperation. He doesn’t say anything else, just slips his hands up under my ass and carries me off, setting me down on the bathroom counter before bending to collect his things, a hand to the back of his hip. 

“Take your shirt off.” I can’t see his face, but I’m sure he has that stupid look, that pleased, expectant one he loves to give me when he knows he’ll get his way. 

“Take off yours.” He hums, bringing his things over and setting them down beside me, looking at me with his head tilted before he reaches over, grabbing the opposite side of his shirt and whipping it up over his head, tossing it at me in his own form of playful defiance. 

“Your turn. Go ahead, gimme somethin’ else pretty to look at while you work, yeah?” I smile, only a little, always shocked when he’s smooth, usually his flirting doesn’t go over so well, just some silly shit I have no idea how he came up with. I give him his wish, not willing to refuse something so easy, pulling my top up and over my head, his affectionate gaze cast down when he steps between my legs, hands trailing up my thighs and over my shorts, rested on my hips as he gazes at my boobs, overly affectionate, seeming dazed at the sight, even if he has seen them a million times.

“Nuisance? Why do you insist on infantilizating the characters who were victims of Tommy, who have clearly forgiven and embraced him? Do you think you know better than them? You act as though every Tommy fan is a damn nazi while ignoring the actual POV of the characters of color affected by his actions.

oh i just know hes going to be going crazy over this, its not often that you get circus themed members around in the digital circus, so hes so hyped to have someone who can at least somewhat fit into that (admin must admit, they know next to nothing about carousels). probably makes themed IHA based around you and your whole thing; whatever that might mean... if youre shiny and/or reflective i just know hes going to pretend to check himself out in your reflections, does it usually to get a laugh out of you if youre having a bad day. gives you loads of new accessories and such

POMNI:

very shiny very pretty. i think pomni would like shiny things, but that might be self projection. kind of looks at you with that huge eyed look she got when she saw her door and/or her reflection in the pilot. looks but doesnt touch because she doesnt want to breach any boundaries. you can easily carry her, probably. shes tiny... though you will have to ask her and warn her before you just decide to pick her up since i dont think she would be cool with you just treating her like some house cat (snorts). subconsciously messes with your hair/mane when you two are hugging/snuggling each other

RAGATHA:

makes her own accessories to give to you. she thinks youre really pretty! very well crafted stuff, me thinks. offers to do your hair and tail (if you have one) every now and then! perhaps even offers to polish you up in hard to reach spots such as your back! generally very nice and lets you know that she thinks youre pretty... bonus if you have some sort of music ambience that plays around you most of the time that tends to reflect your mood, she ends up using that as a little indicator of how youre feeling.... perhaps you two slow dance together to one of your songs.... ponders

JAX:

originally i was going to say he jokes about wanting to ride you but then i realized how that sounded and i am not about that life (i say as i still put it in the post because it aint that serious) but you know, because youre a horse? but also while i was writing caines part, i mention that he checks his reflection if youre... well reflective... i feel like jax would do the same thing, but be more obnoxious about it... like im talking hes fully leaning into it, cleaning the gaps in between his teeth, slicking his ears back. the works, you know? probably snags your ribbons and such every now and then so youre forced to talk to him, he thinks its funny even if its kind of a dick move, but its.. jax, are we really surprised?

KINGER:

similar to pomni i can kind of see kinger also liking shiny stuff but i think this time its just the admin self projecting. probably collects little trinkets he finds that remind him of you and gifts them to you. pretty combs, ribbons, rocks, ect. i think its sweet, basically saying "hey, i thought about you!" you know? sometimes you let him stroke your hair when hes stressed out, works like a charm. revisiting the musical ambience idea, you tend to play the general music that plays during carousel rides, but every now and then it turns into a softer and calmer tune, and that does wonders for kinger after a long and hard day... shrugs

ZOOBLE:

as mean as it sounds you are kind of the opposite of the things like find interest in, since admin hcs that zooble is into the macabre and spooky, you know? but thats not to say that they dont like you! quite the contrary, actually! they have an understanding that you didnt choose this body.. thinks... ooo imagine how funny it would be if youre this really pretty horse with pretty music but you share the same interests as them... i dont now i always liked that trope. cute/innocent character being into scary stuff, intimidating/unconventionally cute character being into sweet and cute stuff.. thinks... sometimes helps you style yourself if youre interested in a new look

GANGLE:

also thinks youre very pretty! probably has made drawings of you and gifted them to you! sometimes redoes the ribbons you wear in your hair and as accessories. very good at making bows and such! might even sometimes help you with your makeup, if you wear any + if its able to be taken off... since, you know... digital bodies and stuff... hmm.. not many thoughts for gangle, at least not any unique ones that havent been said already in general/in this post... apologies gangle nation admin just struggles to write her

okay. i just watched transformers one yesterday (couldn't do this b4 because it was like 3am) and want to give it a review so here we go!!

the overall rating i would give this movie is a 9/10. there are some flaws, some that are noticeable and some that aren't, but the good overshadows the bad here, so. nine out of ten

and there are gonna be spoilers from now on so be careful and go watch the movie if you haven't!!!

The good parts of this movie

TF1 shows us the story of Cybertron before the war in great detail, something that isn't very often seen in the movies and series, as the most info we get about this (mostly of Optimus and Megatron's relationship) comes from things like flashbacks. It's just a very nice thing to see!

The graphics and animation of this movie are stunning. I couldn't watch it in a very good quality, since I was unable to go to the cinema like I'd previously planned, but it still looked incredible. The designs are super cool too. The amount of detail that went into this movie is amazing, and I also loved all of the cameos (I screamed when I saw Arcee)

The voice acting is also very good. I think that the casting for Megatron/D-16 was brillaint. The VA did an incredible job in playing his character. It was like I could feel what he was feeling. Chris Hemsworth's voice for Orion Pax also worked really well! It was a great choice to cast him for a younger version of Optimus Prime. I think that it works better as Orion than as Optimus, but that's just me being picky lol

Elita's and Bumblebee's VAs were amazing too! I talk more about OP and D-16 because they're the ones the movie is centered around, but the rest also were great :)) The other characters's voices help give them more character depth, as they change once the movie goes forward. I think that's beautiful. Unlike the Spanish version, the EN one has some VERY good casting (im salty)

The lore was done extremely well, especially with the limited time they had. The worldbuilding was great too!

I loved the designs of the places. Iacon was just,,,,, great. The flora of the surface looked beautiful

The fight scenes made me fall in love. The sequences were incredible. Fast, with lots of action, and very exciting and fun to watch. The race made me feel so many things too

The visuals are pretty much perfect basically

I love how they worked with OP and D-16's friendship too. In most universes, their characterizations are very different: OP is more serious, a little more introverted, and Megatron/D-16 is still angry over the unfair life he was given. In this version they give them more personality, as a way to show that they have changed a LOT by the time the war begins

They weren't always leaders. In here, Orion is a little bit of an idiot; he's reckless, he talks a lot, he gets into trouble. Surprisingly, D-16 appears to be quieter. He wants to follow the rules, to not cause too much trouble. These two things mean that D-16 often has to help Orion when he fucks up

Something I loved to see is how much of a rule breaker mech Orion is. A thing most people tend to foget is that (in every version I've seen, at least) Orion Pax also fought for freedom before he was a Prime. He's a "fuck the goverment" kind of guy, only less violent than, say, fucking Megatron

I was lowkey scared of what they would do with Orion. I didn't want them to give him only a Hot Rod type of personality and then give him too little depth. But i loved him!!! so much!!!!!!

I also believe that making Orion a miner too was a great choice and that more should do it from now on. It just speaks more to me to see a guy that wasn't a high or middle class person fighting against Megatron

Orion and D-16's relationship was amazingly done too. In this movie, they actually feel like friends. They do things for each other without the other having to ask, they banter, they hit each other playfully, they always have each other's back

From the little things like D-16 quietly helping Orion get out of trouble, Orion looking behind him to make sure D-16 is following him, to the bigger things, like Orion getting themselves in the race and them helping each other during it, Orion giving him the Decepticon insignia sticker, and D-16 being horrified when he realizes who he shot

The banter, the way they laugh, how they just seem so comfortable around the other, showcases how truly great their relationship was, how much they love each other. These two actually feel like friends

Their relationship also makes D-16's anger stand out more. From Orion's reactions, we can see that he was never a truly angry person. Every single time D-16 did something different, something that wasn't like him at all, the camera would show us Orion's face. D-16 wasn't always like this. Orion knows this more than anyone, and he is scared and worried for his friend

Orion and D-16's motivations and ideals are very clear throughout the entire movie. Orion wants to be something more, he knows that he's missing something, that something's wrong. D-16 follows the rules and makes sure to not get into trouble, and yet even though he just wants to live in peace, he still allows himself to get into so much trouble when it comes to Orion

Orion's ideals didn't change much. He knows everything is unfair. He wants to change it. He changes, too, but he's still the guy that craves freedom more than anything

D-16's dreams are shattered with one hit. Everything changes immediatly. Before, he wanted to stick to protocol, and now, he just wants to kill Sentinel Prime. He still wants freedom, though; that much hasn't changed

It hurts how understandable D-16's POV is. He's angry and he's hurt and he never wants to be afraid again. He begins to hate. And we know that he's not good, that he isn't doing the right things, but God. I understand him. I understand the people cheering when he kills Sentinel and I undertsand him. It's not right to kill an unarmed man begging for mercy, and from a tactical POV it is also not a good idea since he's the one making deals with the Quintessons and they could use him to put an end to the invasion, but D-16 is rightfully angry

It kills me how this shows the way rightful anger can be useful, but also deadly when it goes too far. D-16 stopped being right when his anger got the best of him, when he started killing civilains, when he let his best friend fall to his death

Optimus, after getting the Matrix, looks so... tired. His best friend is gone. He knows that peace will not last forever and that it might be because of Megatron's fault. The logical choice would be to kill Megatron where he stands, but he just. Can't do it. The day he becomes a god is the day he loses everything

I have more things to say but this is getting long, so we'll go with the rest now

The bad parts

I wasn't a fan of how Bee seemed to only be a comedic relief, and though I loved him a lot, I wish he was something more

I'm also not a big fan of how Elita was done in some parts. Sometimes she felt a lot like the stereotype of the badass girl character. She didn't do much and she seemed to be there just for there to be a Girl Character. Honestly, they should've made her more central to the plot, instead of just having her give a terrible pep talk (which was funny, I did like it, but it was not enough) and expect everyone to just roll with it

The plot could've been better. Not complaining, but it seemed odd that everything /just so happened/ to be where it was (Steve, Meg and OP being chucked 50 levels below ouut of nowhere)

The pacing felt too fast. D-16's downfall came too quickly. Not much to say about this

I think there should be less familiar faces in one place. It can make the world feel a little too small after a while

I also would've liked more scenes of Orion confronting Meg when he gets Violent TM, instead of just standing there. At least just.. trying too, even if he's not being listened to. I think it would've made it better

Plus I would've liked to see them struggling with fighting more. Make them a little less competent, make it look more like they're just improvising, and the movie would've been a lot better

I also wish we'd seen more anger from the other characters. More sadness. From both background characters, and the MCs (minus meg he's already angry)

I cant think anymore i am very tired. so this is it. but i have more opinions that i might be sharing later!!!

Overall

Very good movie. Not perfect, but still fantastic. Fell in love with literally everything

Voice acting: 9/10. The main cast was perfect!!

Visuals: 10/10

Plot: 7.5/10. We already knew what would happen, so it wasn't too much. However, the movie did some VERY cool things with the way it worked with the plot!

Characterization: This is kinda hard. Overall, I'd go with an 8/10. Meg, Sentinel, OP, Alpha Trion, etc are 9.5/10, but there are some other characterrs I didn't like so much, as I've stated before

Music: 7/10, the TFP soundtrack KILLED ME

They’re down the stairs, and across the square - on the side with the park, the trees casting shadows over the pathway. Two figures are picking their way across and around. A shorter one looking ahead, cane running over the ground, and a taller one with his head down, eyes on his phone.

“You’re gonna crush your drink again.” Volta remarked mildly, and Iguazu took a swig of his cheap beer.

“Fucking freelancer’s parading around, showing off like he’s hot shit.” he complained, cramming three nuggets in his mouth. Whatever he wanted to say next was lost around his chewing, attempt to swallow and subsequent chugging to help him choke it down.

It’s been a week since this started. 

The routine used to be, Raven getting some shopping done before having lunch at the Redguns and then, according to the man himself, going home. Now though - now, he’d wander around the park, wander around the square, wander around the entire shopping village like there wasn’t anything better to do and then finally getting his groceries before leaving, all with this guy hanging off Raven. This stranger. With his hand in the crook of Raven’s arm. His eyes on his phone.

Iguazu was going to chew his hand off.

“You know you can ask him if they’re going out.” Volta said, nudging him on the shoulder with his own can. This time, Iguazu didn’t even need to have food in his mouth to choke. A coughing fit and good thumping on his back later, he turned his glare onto Volta. 

“What do I look like? A gossip rag? Some nosy shithead?” Iguazu hissed, and while Volta didn’t comment on it, he sure did raise the most unimpressed eyebrow. 

It wasn’t like Iguazu followed Raven with his eyes every time he came anywhere near the pub. No, those errands to get some extra lemons if Raven was late (as if Nile would let them run out) or sudden, extremely strange urges to bus the tables near where Raven was seated. All of this? Absolutely normal behaviour.

Just last month, Red had gotten stared down for the rest of his shift. His crime? Daring to be the one to take Raven’s order. He’d not made that mistake since.

When the guy suddenly stopped, forcing Raven to take a step back, Iguazu made a noise. He was showing Raven something on his phone, and Raven was just…looking. Iguazu can’t make out Raven’s expression from the back of his head, but there’s no annoyed twitch in his shoulder, no scowl - not that Iguazu could be sure that he could see that from all the way here.

He remembered the last time he tried to help Raven. Michigan had been all up his business about being better to customers, bitching less, shutting up more and to not piss his friend and his little helper off. So Iguazu had put on his best behaviour and gotten his hand batted away and a squinty little glare for his efforts. 

He’d not bothered since.

From the way Raven was just letting himself be tugged around like a rag doll, how their heads were bent close over the phone - they had to know each other well. 

Iguazu downed the rest of his drink in one long pull and slapped the empty can on the table.

“I wanna ditch.”

“Not if you want to live.”

“It's done!” 

Rusty squeezed his arm gently, and Raven took a small step back, looking to his side where Rusty already had the screen of his phone tilted in Raven’s direction. 

A week ago, Rusty had dropped him a message, asking if he would mind helping Ziyi with an event, because Ziyi had sprained her ankle and couldn’t do their evening walk around the block together for a while. Raven had agreed, largely because Ziyi had asked him with a watery voice and Rusty was bribing him with free food. (Also, maybe, Walter had been dropping worried comments about his exercise, or lack thereof.) Since then, it’d become routine to look to whichever side Rusty was walking on to squint at whatever he was showing off. 

“Hey buddy, you want to harvest this one?” Rusty asked, briefly letting go to point at a green blur on his screen, with a now-familiar silver shimmer over it. Without fanfare, Raven reached over to flick it up, and a smaller blur - a colourful muddle more like - jumped onto the screen. Raven leaned in closer, squinting. He could make out some purple and orange in that mess. Maybe a pair of beady, haunted eyes.

“That’s the halloween pikmin we’re missing.” Rusty marvelled. “Ziyi was right! You’re like, a lucky charm for this.”

“…Are we done then?” Raven asked, tentative. He likes helping out. He likes spending time with Rusty. He likes Walter not getting on his case about exercise. 

(He glanced in the general direction of the Redguns. Iguazu and Volta should be on shift today.)

“I think she’ll want us to complete the event, so…another week I think.”

(…maybe he does miss having his lunch breaks to himself, just a little.

Extra thoughts:

Rusty did impress upon Raven that he didn't need to disrupt his schedule for this 'I can just tag along', but Raven thought about him and Iguazu meeting for more than five seconds and decided that wouldn't be the best idea.

Iguazu and Raven's relationship did used to be a lot rockier (largely from Iguazu's side) but it's smoothed out in a way that has Volta hoping that he's on sick leave or something similar when they finally sort themselves out.

Neither Ziyi or Rusty are diehard mobile gamers but in this particular case, it's an excuse to have Raven around more + they….have been a little completionist re: collecting the pikmin…

Rusty and Raven are both very aware of road and pedestrian safety! However, Iguazuvision is convinced that they are not lmao

Tales of Arcadia, Rise of the Titans: Canon Rewritting and Worldbuilding

Okay, lets start this burning the original concept of what we know about the Arcane Order in a gigantic phyre and spreading the ashes in the void of the space and then replace it with something i like

(None of what I writte next it's fully Canon, just me messing with the story and "upgrading it")

It's said by Blinky, and most of the fandom, that the Titans created the Universe.. Pffft, yeeaah right, like that happened. You want to tell me 3 gigantic jaegers made of ice, fire and forest created all the life in the Universe of Tales of Arcadia, and then proceed to that omnipotent beasts to be defeated (after some importat deaths) by a bunch of teenagers and boomers? Lol nope, i'm scratching that

Lets going to pretend that's a error commited during a great part of the human history, that is beliving the Earth is the center of the Universe, when Krel stated and mocked at the idea saying that the Earth is pretty far away from the center of the Universe, just he doesnt say that im the movie for being in a serious situation

So the Titans only could reset the planet Earth by they reaching the primal heartstone, good enough

Now let's pretend the Titans arent just elemental jaegers and actual sentinent beings, or in that case, gods, like Seklos and Gaylen are stated

Aja mentioned that in Akiridion-5 they have no magic, makes me think that magic is something universal that could happen in some planets, but we really never see any alien, sorry, extraterrestian, casting magic, so, made me coming to the conclusion that, magic exist and is widely known, at least in Akiridion-5, and is something only a few planets manifest but is often enough to be known by the princess of Akiridion-5

So, magic isn't originary from Earth, or it is it?

Powerfull mages as Merlin or Douxie have staffs with a glowing stone that stores magic, ignoring the alien language symbols in Merlin staff, we'll get there, some kinds of stones hold the capacity to store magic, of the Universe itself or from a living being, just like the Heartstones, said magic was absorbed by Gunmar, not before it was destroyed by Morgana, but stills stores power enough, or the capacity to doing so, by the Titans of the Arcane Order

Now it's stated the Titans created the Universe, or the Earth because they don't give a shit about other planets or races in the Universe, they ultimatly want to destroy humanity and magic creatures

The question is.. Why? Why, if the Arcane Order created Earth, they want to destroy their own creation? Probably because main of the creatures in Earth are "violent" and they're probably dissapointed, but not here

There's only 3 Titans and 3 Genesis seals, that resemble each one of the Titans, but it's said the Genesis Seals contain the magic from the Universe, but it's actually only from the Earth

So, i stated, in that case, why did they need the Heartstone? Or more like the Primal Heartstone?

That's when I trow the Canon trough the window and let my imagination took control

The Arcane Order Titans don't created Earth, they put the conditions to the life on Earth exist, and being the mayor sorces of magic

I'm going to base the next part in Transformers Prime, and a little on the Akiridion-5 Lore

In the legend of Seklos and Gaylen, they crushed the stars and use that to create Akiridion-5, thing that i belive are exagerating. The power of crush the stars and still Gaylen core was ultimaletly destroyed by the forces combined of Aja and Krel's parents, so, or the Akiridion race core, or mostly royal cores, hold an enormus power at life cost, or Akiridion-5 history is exagerating their power and they helped to create the life in Akiridion-5 planet, just like the Titans

King and Queen of Akiridion-5 said that Gaylen was originated from Earth, and looking back, Gaylen holographic form looks pretty much like a troll, or one of the Arcane Orden members inhuman features

So maybe Earth and Akiridion-5 we're created by similar entities, and seeing the power that the Gaylen's core hold long after his death, probably mileniums or eons later, and Gaylen having a core after being said that he comes from Earth... Makes me think

Seklos and Gaylen are stated being born from Titans, but only Gaylen coming from Earth, i doubt the Arcane Orden created Gaylen... and then what? Let him run around in the Universe when they never considerated life outside from Earth? What if the Titans, not the Arcane Orden members, and Gaylen, we're created by the same being or coming from the same source?

The Titans have a predecesor that created the Earth, or most likely... Is the Earth's core (remember, this is a Canon Rewritting made out of my own imagination, just for entretainmet pruposes), more like, it's what remains from the Titan.

The Earth core is the Titans Predecesor Core that stayed dormant in Earth and after that in a process of eons, its formed a cover of rocks and dirt that it's the planet Earth, and the Heartstones around the world, that are said the sorce of life of trolls and other magic creatures, are pieces of the core that grow near the Earth surface and ultimatly gave life

At some point before the firsts bacterias were formed, 3 Titans we're given birth thaks to their predecesor death

Then started a cicle of reborn and death in which every few eons the Titans reseted Earth, one Titan each time, the Fire Titan being the one that caused the extintion of the dinosaurs, the Ice Titan the one that caused the ice age, and the Forest Titan the one that created the life in Earth as we know

In some point a 4th Titan was born, a lesser version of their predecesors, one that took the looks of some creaturs that inhabitated the planet. Gaylen was more sentinet that their predecesors, but born with a similar prupose on their existence, leave the Earth and traveled across the Universe, ultimatly meeting Seklos, another sentinet Titan like they, Seklos being a Titan born from the stars but having not known any other Titan like the Earth Trio. Gaylen being their... "Mentor" of sorts, teached Seklos of their duty of creators of life and it's cicle, creating Akiridion-5, based on their image, but instead or organic beings, they we're made of energy, what give them a longer lifespawn and more time for explore the knowledge of the Universe, in less time having reached a higher form of sapience that every Earth known creature, in the eyes of Gaylen, having reached the end of the cicle, and proposing to reset the planet. Seklos oposed that, but Gaylen was firm on his statement, happening the events of the legend of Seklos and Gaylen, Seklos destroying Gaylen's body at the cost of their life and core, with Gaylen's core being guarded by the royalty of Akiridion-5, until the events of the series and giving back Gaylen's core to the Earth

Meanwhile on Earth, mages, trolls and other magic creatures rise on Earth, developing some human to have great magic habilities beyond their time. One of them, being a middle aged Merlin Ambrosius, and probably other mages of which names in not going to bother with. They studied the stars, other species, the planet itself and found about the Titans, and get to the conclusion, the end or this cicle was close, so, using the knowledge of the stars (*wink wink*), it's probably they have develoment a magic anulator like in the future, more rustic and enough to not to kill the Titans, that was a near imposible mission, but to put them in a slumber that could last aged before another solution will come. The price to pay for the creation of the Genesis Seals? All the ancient wizards vital energy, only surviving Merlin to the process, and that's why Merlin looks like an old man despite reaching inmortality.

The Titans fall, but not with a last trick, they created 3 sapient demi-gods with the prupose of finishing off their jobs. That's why the Arcane Orden wants the Genesis Seals and Merlin have them

Memorizing the rules would be a DAUNTING ass task bro. But for today, he'll let it slide-- but I better not catch you doing that again, else there will be consequences. (He means Jade and Floyd it was on instinct) Even the way he SPEAKS is different, and why is he talking about himself so much? Don't get started on the moment Azul is mentioned-- why is he suddenly avoiding speaking any bad about Azul Ashengrotto? They were at each other's throats just this morning!

He feels weirdly frail. Not only does he lack his octo-stength, he has to look up at absoloutely everyone! And these heels are ridiculous! Of course, he's heard all about Riddle boasting that the dorm uniform being a replica of the first housewarden of Heartslabyul, but he could have omitted SOME details. The way everyone straightens their back when they hear the clacking of his heels, though... that's quite nice. It's hard not to powertrip.

I'm not going to get into it I'm not going to get into it I'm not-- FUCK. He can't help but be envious of the complete lack of fat on Riddle's body, the way his uniform cinched his waist just right. Perhaps there were some benefits of being so small... And there's a constant dull ache in his dominant hand. Seriously, for someone raised for a future in medicine, he doesn't appear to be taking care of himself very well! Maybe he'll snoop about the room for a diary, finding a drawer full of letters from a very particular woman-- and leave the investigation there. Funnily enough, it fills him with the urge to write his own letter to his own mother... he hasn't spoken to her in a while.

At least the bed is fantastic? Let's just hope Trey doesn't walk in while he's giggling and wrapping himself up burrito-style into the blankets.

Azul (Riddle) back at Octavinelle seems like he's one moment away from a STROKE. So much so that every few moments red rings swirl in his eyes-- his last straw being the fourth pencil he breaks in a row. Since when has Azul been this strong!? Does his dishonest nature extend to taking steroids?? He's going to have a VERY long talk with him later! His glasses keep getting smudged and sliding down his nose, and Azul's layered clothing was so ridiculously heavy-- being of average height is kind of nice, though.

Jade and Floyd clock him as NOT AZUL right away I fear... though it is a little funny to watch Azul's body throw a tantrum and stomp his feet. They freak out, however, when Riddle realizes he has the strength to preperly defend himself... not good. If he can't behead them, he can go physical. Really, he's not fit at all to run Mostro or do deals atp... but Jade and Floyd think it'd be funny if he fucked some up. He's rather impressed by how such a busy establishment runs so smoothly, and the employees, namely, the waiters, are rather polite. They stand straight and speak clearly... Azul’s done quite well.

Finally. A respite from the endless things that needed his attention– as the housewarden of Heartslabyul, he was used to tending issues left and right, but this experience, being trapped in Azul’s body, had stretched his patience thin. Azul, truly, had his fingers in far too many pies.

Discarding anything the Octavinelle housewarden wore on the regular would have been improper, though it certainly didn’t prevent him from complaining about it. The layers of the dorm uniform were oppressive, to put it lightly– even his cape, for how it dragged across the ground, wasn’t nearly as heavy. The cummerbund was too tight to be considered remotely comfortable. He abandons it on the chair in front of the vanity.

He tugs on silky purple fabric to undo the bowtie, the thing having gone crooked, most likely from when he undid the suspenders or pulled off the jacket. It’s always satisfying to allow one’s neck to breathe at the end of the day–

Right there, not too far from under the collar, is a culmination of small dark spots. Three, in fact. And just when he peels back the collar to get a better look at them, there’s another one, right there, on his collarbone!

blunt answer, i have not thought super hard about most of the specifics. English Behaving Badly On Alternia is a really fun fanfic idea i have toyed with but nothing that i've ever thought was begging for serious study.

i imagine a lot of it is in fact knock-on effects from the establishment of his cult among the highbloods. knowing that beforus already had its own caste system, putting a bunch of manhood-obsessed muscle-worshipping freaks at the top of the pecking order is naturally going to twist the development of that caste system in a certain direction over the course of history. if there ever came a chance that the castes would start to reconcile with each other and alternia would start becoming nicer instead of worse over time, of course, that's where the handmaid steps in to stir up class warfare and intensify bigotry.

putting meenah of all trolls in charge also presumably went some way towards creating these particular aspects of alternia's toxic cultural sludge. her reaction to human reproduction suggests the condesce has some pretty big sexual hangups of her own, no doubt deliberately exacerbated by interactions with doc scratch early in her life; combining a head of state with a total disgust for intimacy and a power structure revolving entirely around male dominance feels like a pretty perfect recipe for what we got.

+ scratch being "the narrator" also means a lot of how he changes history is just in the changing of how it's told. which, in less prolix terms, is the same kind of thing kankri gets at when he says highbloods' "tremend9us lifespans 9ver the millenia [...] have 6een a6le t9 c9mpletely dictate 9ur s9cietal ev9luti9n 6y ensuring 9nly their cultural agendas and narratives receive the dial9gue's air supply".

hello! havent done these in a while. im currently "extremely unemployed" lol well see if i go back and do any of the previous months i skipped ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ i think its nice to force myself to summarize my thoughts like this

BOOKS: the tyrant baru cormorant by seth dickinson: most recent book in the masquerade series, which is a thriller (?) about the mechanics of empire. dude this book was so great. no notes. there were some incredibly gratifying payoffs in here and some craaazy twists. idk i wish i had something more to say i just thought it was really really good im glad that baru gets to have some good things as well as bad. of course, seth dickinson has amazing prose and the ending was so like, uplifting? and inspiring? i was very surprised lol

when the angels left the old country by sacha lamb: queer jewish immigrant YA, apparently for fans of good omens. an angel and a demon from a small, small town go to america to track down one of the town's mising daughters. despite neither being a gomens fan (although i did read it) nor jewish, i really enjoyed this! it has a dreamy, fairytale, eva ibbotson-like tone to it that made it a pleasure to read, despite the somewhat foreboding topic (let's all have a fun time on ellis island while visibly jewish!) the stories of the humans and the non-humans feel equally important, but i really especially enjoyed the way the angel changed over time as a response to the world it saw. its just a really nice book :3

long live evil by sarah rees brennan: villainess isekai, but western tradpub. a woman dying from cancer at a young age is given the chance to live again--as a two-bit floozy villainess the day before her execution?! how will rae find a way out? and how well, really, does she remember the time of iron? sarah rees brennan is sort of a comfort author to me; in other lands meant a Lot to me as a mentally ill teenager. all the same, i almost dropped this book during the first couple of chapters. in my opinion, this book has a REALLY rough start that evened out into a ride that i enjoyed quite a bit despite many other factors. while some parts of the part are clearly deeply personal (this is the author's first book published after recovering from late stage cancer), it also has a tendency to hammer in its points over and over again and undercuts too many serious moments with quippy dialogue in a way that deflates tension rather than increasing it. also, one b-couple takes clear inspiration from one of her previous works (but this time more #toxic --they kill each other in time of iron) and as a result unfortunately outshines the main couple at times, who also have to share screentime with a huge cast that often feels improperly balanced. but also, i thought the main couple was pretty cute, actually! the ending twist, while not unpredictable (and also very, uh, danmei?) was also very enjoyable and nice to let creep up on you. i feel like i'm being more strict with it than i am with a lot of villainess isekai i read though, haha… i agree with ineedacatchyname's review of it (and a lot of these thoughts just echo theirs. woops!)--a lot of this could be fixed with a bit more editing, but ultimately i spent the second half unable to put it down and i'm still going to read the sequel.

against football by steve almond: fairly short nonfiction. one diehard football fan's searing condemnation of the state of american football today (and what we could do to make it better). this was recommended to me by megafaunatic, and i really enjoyed it :3 i come from a pretty "ugh, sportsball" type of family, and so it was really interesting to see why people love watching football (especially a team as "wretched" as the former oakland raiders) as well as playing it--but also how the continuation of football in its current state is pretty much inexcusable (one bright side is that division i graduation rates have actually gone up quite a bit since this book was published in 2016!) id easily recommend to both football fans and non-fans.

GAMES: pikmin bloom: pikmin bloom is a game about walking around, growing pikmin, and planting virtual flowers. i didnt play this game for a while bc i was like "well, its pokemon go but with pikmin -_-" and like. it is. but niantic has also taken the opportunity to overhaul a lot of its base game mechanics with a focus on actually getting you to GO OUTSIDE and WALK AROUND, which i think is to its benefit! like, yeah it actually did get me to go on some walks when i wouldnt have otherwise. the microtransactions kinda suck but as long as youre willing to kill your darlings (pikmin) its fine i think. < guy with a very high deathcount in pikmin 3 and 4

return of the obra dinn: stylized mystery game about unpacking what happened in a scaaary voyage by seeing the moment surrounding the crewmembers' deaths. dude. this game is so fucking good. it was like everyones goty in 2018 and as soon as i finished it i was like "i wish i could get hit in the head so i could play it again." imo, its a really good game to play as a group (with one person driving) bc so much of the gameplay takes place outside of the game--deducing, speculating, etc and it's really fun to do that as a conversation with someone else! the game does a good job of disincentivizing random guessing--when i played this game with my family, we did guess on a couple but it was almost always a 50-50 "choice A or choice B". and the game can (apparently) be completed without any chance guesswork whatsoever! can be a little gory at times, but its all in this sort of dithery monochrome style so you don't really think about it until you're walking to the bathroom in the halflit moonlight and youre kinda like hey this kinda looks like return of the obra dinn haha. wait. anyways play this game!!

unpacking: cute little game about unpacking/moving in during the various phases of one person's life. probably a masterclass in "environmental storytelling" that invites you into making your own stories for our unseen protagonist while also providing these understated beautiful little moments of understanding. also, it was really theraputic getting everything perfectly placed in order when i currently live in a very messy house ;-_-

umineko chapter 2: ahhh year of umineko 2024 continues. im definitely not finishing the whole game this year (lol) but i might end up finishing the question arcs at least..? anyways ive been lbing this the whole time (#year of the seacat 2024 for blacklist) but man this was pretty harsh compared to the first episode. it even makes battler break down..! i was secretly wondering how it was going to try and turn around my opinion on rosa, but, well, i still really dont like her. has bright points in more beatrice!!! the introduction of the meta, some ???really horny??? parts and the [You are incompetent] scene. also, everyone seems to really hate george for some reason but i feel like i still dont get it.

SHOWS:

the decameron: drama about fucking and dying in black plague-era italy, and a villa meant to be a getaway from it all. in high school i wanted to read the decameron because it was mentioned in theatre of coolty--just so you know, this is nothing like it. its just really fun! and full of light intrigue and twists and reveals and tragedy. a lot of the plague-based humor hit in some pretty uncomfortable places, which the showrunners were definitely going for. neifile and panfilo hands down had my favorite relationship.

witch from mercury: revolutionary girl gundam?? this is how everyone pitched it to me, which honestly put me off a little bit. wfm is clearly aware and respectful of its predecessors but also takes the first episode to go "nah were going to do something a little different though." like, its kind of like instead of tackling rape culture it decided to tackle the military industrial complex instead ? ? i guess?? it seems like a good entry point into gundam for many (including me!) i enjoyed the first season very fun and currently watching the second. looking forward to seeing how sick and twisted things can get

in terms of music ive been listening to a lot of zerobaseone.. every time were in the car together neil is like lets listen to yurayura and im like yessss. yurayuraa oh ive also been listening to counter//weight while driving but im not going to include it bc its been slow going lol. all my thoughts about it so far is like "this is the thing neil really likes"

Sorry this is gonna be a bit of a rant since it’s something I’ve had strong feelings about since joining the AG/TASM fanfic part of the internet, and you’ve provided me a great opportunity to talk about it.

As a trans person, I am BEGGING fanfic writers to stop writing Marauders stuff. I’ve seen so many people defend it with “separate art from the artist” but like it or not they are still supporting JKR. Separating art from the artist only really works when the artist can’t profit from it. She has done SO MUCH harm to trans people and particularly trans youth in the UK and it’s so fucking disheartening and gives me such an ick when I see TASM writers also write for Marauders because it truly comes across as “I love and support the trans community except when it comes to this because I like it.”.

Even if you ignore the transphobia and holocaust denial (YES IM SERIOUS, she’s denied parts of the holocaust at LEAST twice and she literally did it a second time the other day), the original writing is so fucking problematic. Things just off the top of my head being;

The goblins being stereotypes of Jewish people

The fucking racism with characters like Cho Chang and Kingsley Shacklebolt

The last Fantastic Beasts movie’s plot literally being trying to make WW2 and the holocaust happen

It's literally nothing but a bunch of fans agreeing that they like his look for a fictional character.

Okay I'm like. Blaming the fact I messed up my sleep schedule and it's 11:27pm and I just woke up like an hour and a half ago and I side-tracked myself like absolutely crazy but keep side-tracking myself into different rants or tangents so it is just a forever increasing ramble, but TL;DR, I actually prefer media that is dead or left alone because I get so anxious when new stuff comes out cause I'm afraid of what they'll do to my faves or if they'll butcher them or add slap-stick love interests, etc., and when Cars on the Road came out(idk how aware people are that it exists), I spent the whole first watch through not really enjoying and savoring it cause I was so anxious over what was gonna happen that I spent the whole time making sure it was 'safe' and I wasn't going to have a pit in my stomach. Which, it turned out lovely and I actually have some things from it that I super love and adore, but I have actually unironically predicted my F/Os so strongly(among other listful factors) that I'd rather them finally put it to rest before it starts getting into beating a dead horse territory, cause I don't know if there's really much of anything left for them to expand on anyway.

My serious answer?: I'm not entirely sure, but I would enjoy seeing them just expand on some more smaller stuff, and I'd like it better if they didn't try to do 'revivals' of characters from past movies(ily Chick but Cars 3 was a bitttt of some injustice to you), I know they're supposed to be more action-y movies but I love slice of life stuff and I'd totally just watch an hour and forty minutes of Lightning just like playing around Radiator Springs or something(every Cars game ever). Though my ultimate ideal scenario is just none at all.

My slightly less serious answer that probabblyyy isn't gonna happen but the odds are never zero(he says humorously)?: They should spend the whole time doing documentary style movie about how it would've gone if I was in the previous movies +sketches/storyboards or reanimated scenes of small moments but I'm thrown in there. ALL IM SAYING IS Cars 2 would've been SO funny if I was in it okay. Would've been exhausted running around the entirety of Europe(+like US and Japan for a moment) nearly the entire time and someone watching would've been sick to their stomach cause the movie WOULD CONCLUDE with it all ending via the power love, and I'm not sorry. Would've had my 'Mary Sue' moment of like nearly every major(and some minor) cast role having SOME sort of feelings for me, most typically romantic. And it being reciprocated. You want an action movie?? There, now tell me THAT ain't action-packed. I refuse to believe the outcome of anything would be predictable. Every last interaction is gonna leave the viewers asking "what the HELL is going on and what will happen next". Pixar(and Disney) I am right here but it's okay if ur busy cause I'm busy too.

The stuff under the cut is basically the same thing I said here(mostly focused on my 'serious' answer bit), but veryy elaborated upon, so it's fairly lengthy. I don't know how much I really mention this, cause I think it a lot but I don't wanna like drive my blog viewers nuts if I say it so much over and over again, but I get like so anxious over whenever knew stuff or content of my F/Os come out believe it or not! There was only like.. one or two medias in the past where I was actually like.. excited whenever the person posted new stuff! Somehow I've had the luck of most things that I F/O from are dead upload-wise. I get so anxious that it'll go down hill(especially if the media has been going on for a while now, which.. Cars starting in 2006 I'd count that) cause I've watched some shows just go downhill or randomly butcher characters or add slap-stick romantic interests that it just makes me far too anxious!! Honestly, I thought Cars WAS finished and through with, but for whatever reason there was the release of Cars on the Road(don't know how many people know of that) and DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVED IT and I still do and think about it fairly often, I actually really really love and adore some of the qualities they expanded on with Mater and Lightning but that's a whole thing for another time probably-, but what I didn't enjoy was being so anxious over it that when it came out I practically spent my whole first watch through making sure that it was 'safe' and something wasn't going to happen that makes me feel like I swallowed a rock and my stomach sinks. Which thankfully didn't happen at all, I loved how it turned out and still rewatch it occasionally, I think they nailed it, but I didn't like the so nervous experience I had in the first place😅

I've heard some people talk about someone who did an interview with someone who supposedly works on the Cars stuff about how they still had stuff in mind they wanted to do with the characters, I'm HOPING I don't somehow jinx myself wildly but honestly I'd muchhh rather prefer it just gets dropped and they let Cars just be what it is for now. Sometimes I question if they just do this stuff because they milk a crazy amount of money out of how well the diecasts sell, which is why they have so many one-off diecasts like the off-roading ones or the glow in the dark ones, or just random sorts of themes. Which, entire tangent for another day, can't BELIEVE they put Jackson anywhere CLOSE do a dirt racing series even if it was just the diecast. But anyway.

TO ACTUALLY ANSWER YOU QUESTION... I'm not super sure!!! I've heard some people talk about seeing more stuff about how Cruz and Lightning race together would be interesting, I think I'd prefer something like that as opposed to a revisit of characters from previous movies or such(ily Chick but they tampered your voice in Cars 3 and I'd argue your personality a bit as well), truthfully I'm not super sure, I've never thought about it so much before!! They should include me in the movie(/hj). Truthfully, normally each movie has been sort of centered around Lightning having some sort of character development arc he has to go through, I'm not sure what else he could be put through! Don't get me wrong, he's absolutely not a perfect character, which is what makes characters so enjoyable in the first place, but he doesn't have as big of a staple thing to go through like he did in the first movie where he was a "I can do it all by myself" i-use-my-ego-to-hide-my-feelings rookie. I don't entirely like how the third movie took it truthfully, with the whole "McQueen is getting older..😢😥..how will he still race?!" Cause like one of the staple differences between F1 and NASCAR is that so many NASCAR racers(especially if they made it good) stay racing until they are like in their 60s+ or their hairs are graying(which, arguably could happen whenever but for the sake of my point, stereotypical age-related graying). And Lightning is like in his mid-30s in the third movie at the LATEST. So I don't know what any of that was about. I know there was the whole new gen of racers thing but he honestly wasn't doing too bad keeping up with them until things got into his head and he freaked himself out(on top of the crash, and the like. Literal depression he falls in to). And then there's the whole thing of he actually had it in him the win the last race in the movie at the Flordia 500 blah blah blah but he wanted to switch out with Cruz so she could have her moment, which, I'm not entirely ecstatic over how they paced Cruz's development, I wish they let it marinate a bit more but I get they had crunch-time in the movie.

OK LOL THIS IS MY SECOND TIME WRITING THIS, I WROTE OUT A WHOLE ASS ESSAY AND TUMBLR DECIDED TO WIPE IT CLEAN....I WROTE LIKE 600 WORDS WITH SCREENCAPS AND EVERYTHING THE FIRST TIME and now its 1.5k words. 

ANYWAYS YES YES YES ANON.... I TOTALLY AGREE i think about this a lot.. asobi club my beloved. i also think the crazyb scenarios have SOOO much potential and i loooove thinking about stuff like this as well because its always nice to take the more outwardly confident charas down a peg. because why not. im a sucker for niki having the upper hand for once ❤️

now i will proceed to provide 500 examples and analyse them because i also think about this facet of rinne’s character a lot (the one that becomes timid when good stuff is said about him, or how he’s actually a Nice Person but covers that up as best as he can) and i would like other ppl to think about it a lot too. this is basically just a hc/small analysis dump post so sorry anon for you have opened the floodgates 

i love every aspect of rinne’s personality but this side of him, the one that grows so easily flustered around others when he’s caught off-guard, is the best imo. he doesn’t really show it around most ppl, only niki, hiiro, and kids (like shinobu!!) because those are the only ppl that bring that out, bc theyre so earnest, so genuine in their intentions, that rinne is forced to confront reality As Is instead of dance around the subject.

a lot of the cast is convinced that rinne is this unapproachable, eccentric, inconsiderate asshole (which is true, at times - he’s carefully developed this persona so if he wants people to see him that way, it’s what they see) but when they actually put away these boundaries a lot of the time ppl see that he’s just. some guy (a silly example of this is chill yellow where hokuto, tsukasa and keito try to enlist his help to help them ease into “villain” roles for their auditions, and when rinne sees their efforts he’s so bewildered by it all he puts his wild image to the side to be like what the hell? you guys are all freaks???)

gonna split this into several little sections but for example, with niki i think niki doesn’t realize he can take advantage of it because a lot of the time these advances from rinne are met with complete disbelief. granted niki doesnt really think to compliment rinne often, it’s usually the other way around. so when rinne is being completely earnest, unabashed in his devotion for niki, niki turns around and goes “what??? what?” like he cant understand that such nice words are being said to or about him. THIS IS A TOPIC FOR ANOTHER TIME THOUGH, we’re talking about rinne here…. sorry i am physically incapable of not making everything even a little bit about rinniki….

of course this grants rinne an easy way out: instead of addressing that he’s being fully serious and owning up to these feelings his kneejerk response is to be like “kyahaha, stuupid niki! i can’t believe you’d fall for that!” but we all know he’s dying inside. it’s obvious. there’s only so many genuine, loving remarks a guy can make towards his guy best friend before the audience starts catching onto the fact that maybe he’s not actually joking, and that his guy friend just has severe self esteem issues, and is also plain stupid (endearing). IF NIKI OPENED HIS EYES HE COULD HAVE RINNE ON HIS KNEES….. WE’RE ROOTING FOR YOU…..

that’s exactly what happens in this scene, and they go on to play bicker because thats. their love language, i guess???? they’re weird. i love them

also we all know how rinne reacts to niki asking to kiss him in hot limit. regardless of how you interpret his reply (whether hes upholding his hometowns customs, being shy, or trying to make sure niki is serious about him..) most ppl can agree that after all of his advances in main story and towards niki In General he was probably freaking out, but handling it very well

niki is simply too reactive to respond to rinne’s genuine comments and be calm about it… i dont think he realizes rinne truly means all of them and his view about himself is too low to just accept the compliments and when niki gets flustered, rinne gets flustered too, but unlike him becoming speechless like he does with other people, rinne combats it with humor, b/c this is the sort of thing he and niki are used to. this, however, is not how he deals with affection coming from other people…..

gonna attach the exact scene i think you were talking about here, but when compliments come from those younger than him, like hiiro and shinobu, his initial reaction is a lot different

i’m going to link the tl for nursery rhymes as the op does not want their tls reposted, but this is the exact chapter that i think you’re referring to, the interaction itself is at the very end in case other people would like to see.

rinne points out that there’s no clever retort to shinobu’s genuine compliment, that there’s no banter he can build off of to “defend” himself - so he’s left feeling shy, and exposed. ofc its not shinobus intention to make him feel bad and idt rinne feels bad, necessarily, it’s just jarring.

rinne has a very cultivated persona that he’s built from the ground up from the end of his solo career to his current career in crazy:b. there are times this mask “slips” and he’s brought back to a similar personality to the one he had as a child in flashbacks or himself as a 17 y/o in hot limit, where he’s more meek, quiet, careful with his words, not purposely inflammatory. usually, he’s really good at keeping up appearances! look at his reputation in ES as a troublemaker with a complete disregard for everyone around him!

but when he’s confronted by people who are more “pure”, who don’t question his intentions from the get-go, he is at a loss. rinne is good around most kids because there’s no sort of “prejudice” against him, for lack of a better term; the people that this sort of thing happens around would be 1) people he loves and trusts entirely, who have known him before this persona even came into fruition (niki, hiiro) 2) people who aren’t immediately defensive around him, who don’t see him as a bad guy and trust him inherently (shinobu, for example!! sora, too! i feel like asobi club is a perfect example of this, both the story and the club itself!)

now hiiro… rinne replies to hiiros compliments in a similar way to how niki replies to His, because there’s a deep trust there between the two even though they’ve been apart for several years, and there’s enough trust for rinne to shut hiiro down completely, and get entirely flustered. i think a lot of why he’s like this with him stems from the fact that up until now hiiro was unable to express his love for his brother, or namely, he wasn’t allowed to, because of how they grew up.

rinne’s used to loving his brother, caring for him, but not the other way around, because in their hometown they were both raised with the idea that hiiro is a “liability”, that his role was to be rinne’s advisor and nothing else. for that reason and many others, rinne left his town, both because he was sick of his lack of liberty as well as being told that loving his brother was wrong, that he had to treat the one person he treasured at the time badly, that he was meant to be a leader and nothing else.

rinne goes on to explain this several times during the main story, but this is my fav instance of it b/c it hits really hard

any type of love from or towards hiiro, in this case familial, is foreign to him. so when rinne goes 5+ years without seeing his brother and his brother eventually learns that being affectionate towards rinne is okay, he’s obviously going to be a bit flustered! he’s not used to it! and hiiro is very loud and proud about it too, which probably makes it even worse for rinne. AND EVERYONE ELSE.. hiiro is not the best at picking up social cues but that is ok. it’s like when you learn something new and want to keep doing it so you dont forget and because its exciting!! hiiro is learning how to love and rinne is happy for him but he’s not equipped to deal with that .

NOT A SCREENCAP FROM IN-GAME BUT I THINK ABOUT THIS VIDEO SO OFTEN… hiiro being excited to perform with his brother and rinne is so speechless at his enthusiasm he’s like y-yeah. I LOVE IT WHEN HE IS RENDERED SPEECHLESS!!!!! 🗣️🗣🗣

the very end of main story (ch5) is dedicated to rinne talking about how he’s been told he’s wrong his whole life over every little thing he does, and i think that provides such valuable insight as to why rinne is the way he is? and why he can’t respond to genuine compliments coherently. even tho he presents himself as self-assured and does whatever the fuck he wants at this point i still think he suffers from berating himself, and it shows whenever he’s being self-sacrificial and justifies bad things happening to him with “well, i deserve this”. even though he’s come a long way, it’s always hard to unlearn harmful behaviors learned from youth
