#every single time i see someone trying to defend the new twilight series#the most popular excuse seems to be that they're sure indigenous actors will be hired.#&this is just. SO confusing for me lmao.#the issue w indigenous rep in that movie does not start nor end w the fact that no one from the Quileute tribe was hired for the movie.#like if you think sensitivity hiring can fix a narrarive where indigenous men were explicitly made to be vicious beasts&the primary#person from the tribe spends the entire story desperately chasing a yt girl&ends w him realizing that actually hes in love w her#new born baby than i dont actually know what to tell you lmao. this is all just what i got from pop culture osmosis#&that sentence has so many horrible+flat out dangerous stereotypes about indigenous men that i am left almost speechless lmao.#anyway i dont even see how they could possibly make this story into an actual serial show but i guess its not a coincidence#that a writers strike is happening right when this absolute fucking trash is being made LMAO.
