King the Land is by far one of the more hyped dramas of the year by 2nd gen stans and just kdrama fans that have mostly been introduced to both Yoona and Junho through dramas. Soshipm has always been very popular (and understandably so) amongst fans but I must admit Yoona and Junho wasn’t one of those parings from soshipm that I though would be doing dramas together first. Nor did I really think they fit that much together. I had always though out of all the soshi actresses Junho would be pared with Yuri for some reason.
(I must add that Soshi is my ult kpop group, but I have also considered myself a hottest since 2009).
But fans have been begging for this since they did MC and the mbc gayo in 2021 and now finally JTBC has finally given it to us. JTBC who are not that good at rom-coms and I often struggle with Junho is rom-coms but love love love him in more serious melodramatic roles. Those just suit him way more imho. But I am always willing to be proven wrong!
King the Land (which I still think is an odd title btw… like what does it mean, although I am sure it makes more sense in Korean and it’s just an odd translation) just seems to be a very standard rom-com with your standard female kdama rom-com heroine vs your standard male lead in a standard kdrama rom-com. The characters are a bit of a blank slate now and a bit inconstant. They are there to serve the plot but they often go against common sense.
Let’s see of the script and the charm if the actors can make these characters and story have a bit more bite to them than they do on paper. It does feel quite a bit like a old-school cliché rom-com, which sure feels a bit nostalgic and fun in a sense, but I wish it had taken the notes of those older kdrama rom-coms and just updated it a bit more. Played with it a bit, instead of a story that just follows the old plots, because it feels like we have sort of moved away from some of these tropes and plot-points in 2023 rom-coms.
Both of our leads are actually dealing with some dead mother issues it seems, which has shaped their lives in adulthood - a trope that isn’t my favorite way to add trauma and stuff to a story but I also don’t totally hate it or loath it. It doesn’t make me groan, more just slightly sigh when it comes up. I have seen it done well (but that’s the thing with most over-used storylines and tropes… they can always be done well, it just rarely happens). Please just don’t make their death connected with some murder mystery or something. That might make me turn off my tv and never turn it on again.
I was happy to see that Junho’s character in this drama isn’t an outright asshole type of kdrama male lead and just kinda blunt and direct and emotionally numb due to trauma and tragic past sort of male lead (but those can also be sort of boring depending on the actor) but I wish we could get something else. I am however already tired of the rich-family story.
Did they just get Junho and Yoona and just dig up some old script that was stuffed away in a drawer? well JTBC didn’t really start producing dramas when dramas like Secret Garden were popular. But then again JTBC aren’t really that good at rom-coms I think. But there must have been something more to this story that attracted both actors to this drama, or did they just both want to act with each other and do something that didn’t feel too draining/demanding? which is totally fair.
It’s a bit excessive with Junho skydiving into work or owning a goddamn castle in the British countryside, but it is also so laugh out loud funny. But some of the toilet humor isn’t really the remarkable comedy it’s suppose to be and I have never found it funny.
I wonder what’s the point of some parts in the episodes, like this first encounter that we get with them in the gym. Like from a storytelling perspective, because so far I am coming up empty. There were million other, non sexist ways to do that. To show he isn’t a bad buy? because how could a handsome man like him ever do something perverted? ugh.
This isn’t really the first time this sort of misunderstandings happen where the female lead rightfully calls out a certain behavior and stands up for herself only for it being a misunderstanding or her mistaking the male lead for someone else who did do the thing and it’s always so odd to see it often blow up in the female leads face. It gives of the message that only a certain men, the non-good looking one, are going to do these deeds and someone who is nice and pleasant looking could never do that!. And I don’t like it one bit. It’s just wrong message to send out there.
Love the focused this episode is giving the girls and their friendship. I thought the second episode would then focus more on the male lead but no, it was refreshingly balanced between the two. And we seem to be getting some cute secondary romances as well, for some fillers. Let’s hope the drama won’t at least sideline the female lead too much and actually give us a balance between the two. That was one of the standout things from both episodes. The friendship scenes. Because all the female character make sense in those scenes, but not in others.
The chemistry between the leads is nice and it’s obvious that Yoona and Junho are very comfortable with each other after having promoted often together and such as idols, but to me it isn’t exploding or sizzling, but we haven’t really seen that much for them together and the romance part hasn’t really kicked it. They are very much still in the ‘you get on my nerves’ phase.
Just give me pining, lots and lots of pining. And make him fall in love first and make him suffer. Those types of rom-coms are the best.
Now I would also love for me to not be able to tell every story beat way before it comes on my screen, but it does make for a relatively at ease and easy watching experience to just enjoy but not think too much about. I don’t think this drama is going to too trying or going out of the rom com box and trying new things per se but I do expect it to be entertaining and cute watch judging by these two episodes. Let’s just hope that it won’t drag to much toward the middle because that’s often the biggest hurdle with these rom-coms.
Lastly, I must also note the overwhelming focus that the male leads has in these tags (all the gifs are just off him) and in other places that kdramas are discussed already annoys me. Kdrama fans never change, huh! so damn male centric.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo Ep 7 live reaction
Suyeon calling out Minwoo first thing and Att. Jung being a goddamn professional and keeping his nose out of his attorneys drama (which I argue was way better than him getting pissed in Young woo’s defence)
CEO Han quietly shading the person who wrote the anon post (whether in full awareness or not of who wrote it) and hitting Minwoo hard
That better be a guilty look Minwoo you bitch!
SUYEON CALLING OUT EVERY ONE FOR BEING SO HUNG UP ON THIS “SCANDAL” AND HERSELF FOR IGNORING THE INHERENT SOCIETAL PREJUDICES THAT STOPPED YOUNG WOO FROM BEING EMPLOYED IN THE FIRST PLACE AND DIRECTING STRAIGHT AT THAT LIL BISH MINWOO
Junho being a goddamn professional and not cornering Youngwoo first thing. Like he’s there obvi but it’s work time now.
Youngwoo offering her jacket to the Judge because she’d also fallen before!
HAHAHAHA ATT. JUNG SINGING. HOW MANY TIMES MANS GOTTA SING???
Seriously Youngwoo should’ve just gone for it bc Minwoo is the one who’s shameless. Even after all that Suyeon said he doesn’t seem to get a damn thing. Yes the dad and the CEO knew each other in law school! Yes nepotism is inherently unfair! Because it tends to ignore real talent for familial ties. BUT IN THIS CASE THE REAL TALENT WAS BEING IGNORED ANYWAY. THE REAL TALENT THAT HE HIMSELF MINWOO HAS ACKNOWLEDGED WAS BEING DISREGARDED BC PEOPLE DIDNT WANNA TAKE A CHANCE ON A LAWYER WITH ASD. And yes I do believe one way or another Young woo would’ve found a job and have a successful career without aid, and I don’t think it was right that the father overstepped his bounds just to protect his adult daughter from being discouraged by the job hunting game.
But with her grades and skill and talent, why the hell should she have to settle for anything?? And it was wrong of him to call her out and blame HER when she hasn’t done a thing wrong. She’s where she’s supposed to be. And if he got out of his own head and had even a touch of critical thinking for once, he’d get that
So anyway punch Minwoo one good time.
They used actual young actors!!!! Rather than the current actors dressed as young people!!! No weird toupee or brushed forward hair!!!
Lol poor dad pouring his heart out while she’s having an epiphany
Interesting push in on his bed. Is there someone else in the bed. Her yelling at him to wake up and him responding with “YA!” Instead of appropriate professional politeness
HAHAHA her reaction to Sodeok-dong’s Eugene Park’s real name being Park Yu-Jin
BRO IS THE FIRST TIME THEYVE BEEN ALONE SINCE THAT TIME?!?!
Aw man she ran away. Understandably. I’d be overwhelmed too.
DAMMIT PARK EUGENE HE WAS ABOUT TO CONFESS
Ok but that chase scene was freaking hilarious
THIS DOESNT QUITE COUNT BUT WHALE TALK JUST BECAME A LITTLE BIT MORE NECESSARY
Usually the child is the one who gets thrown off kilter by a birth secret but this time it’s the mom and Young woo handled that convo really well. I do hope they get a chance to interact again
It’s nice that the Sodeok-dong hackberry tree has been named a national monument and protected
ARE WE GETTING JEALOUS JUNHO IN THE NEXT EPISODE?!? IS THIS BANGUPPONG GUY GONNA COME IN AS A RIVAL LOVE INTEREST BRO THIS ALL I DESIRE

Lee Seyoung interview for The Red Sleeve (with SpoTVNews)
Tumblr media
Even though the filming ended half a month ago, Seyoung still remembered Deokim's lines and recited them without a miss: "Do you still not see it? If I did not like you, I would have done anything to run away. It was my choice to stay with you in the end. Do you not see it?" She could not stop her tears while filming for the last scene, and said that "I will not force myself to forget it, and I plan to feel it. I think it will linger with me for quite a long time." Here are the things we talked about with her regarding The Red Sleeve.
Q. The Red Sleeve ended with much attention and love.
(We) prepared for it for 7 months, and I feel happy that we received a lot of love. I'm happy and grateful that we were able to wrap it up. I didn't know at first, but while moving around different places to film, I learned that more and more people were watching. I was delighted.
Q. You are hailed as the "sageuk queen" and received love. You've shown great performances through your appearances in sageuk dramas.
It's an overpraise. I think I'll feel a bit burdened if I end up appearing in another sageuk next time. Right now, I'm just happy and thankful for that feedback. Rather than the fact that it's a sageuk, I joined the drama because I liked the characters and the work. Through this drama, viewers gave me lots of love, so I thought that I should work hard to show a better side of me if I end up doing another sageuk next time. I'm not sure if it's my forte. This drama had an excellent original novel, a script that's just as good, as well as big seniors and excellent actors. The teamwork and chemistry were good as well.
Q. The drama was the first MBC drama to achieve double-digit ratings after two years. Did you expect this success?
I actually thought that making a 15% viewership ratings promise meant that we won't fulfill the promise and that we don't want to. So we said that we'll appear on Noon's Song of Hope radio show if we reach 10%. So we went there, and I'm really grateful that we reached 15%. Of course, we need to fulfill the promise. I thought that my promise about doing jinddobaegi might break the drama's impression, and that it was a thoughtless remark. I reflected on myself for that, and I'm really sorry. I'll compromise a bit and prepare for an elegant "My House" performance wearing a dangui (upper garment for women's hanbok).
Q. You received the Top Excellence Award and Best Couple Award in 2021 MBC Drama Awards.
I didn't think that I would receive them. I was actually a bit hopeful for the Best Couple Award, but I didn't know that they would give it to only one couple. When the video first came out, I was like, "Oh, they're showing the nominees." But I was really happy that we received the award exclusively. It was unusually meaningful as our drama is a historical romance drama.
Q. People showed great support for the SanDeok couple. The way you called him "Wang Oppa" was also quite memorable.
With regards to romantic chemistry, I think the cooler and the more romantic the male character is, the more people love it. I would like to thank Lee Junho, who digested the cool and charming character so well. He's really good at acting, and he was an actor I always trust in. I think all credit belongs to him, who digested the manly and cool king character well. It would've been enough if he's good at work, but he's also a nice person. Our synergy doubled as we spent time together openly without keeping a distance and became close. I called him "Wang Oppa" when we got the Best Couple Award because I was so excited that I left him out during my speech. Without much thought, I said, "It's thanks to Wang Oppa."
Q. The ending scene of you two together with the narration, "The moment became forever," was heavy and dazing. People even said it's a "sappy ending (sad + happy ending)." How was it when you acted in that scene?
This line also came out in the original novel. When I read that part, my head buzzed. My tears didn't stop. They were separated for eternity, and although they met in his dream, I think it's a reality that won't come back. It was really sad, but it was nice that we get to see them meet again. I think the remark "sappy ending" is correct. I tried to smile, but while rehearsing and filming with Junho, I was so so sad that my tears won't stop flowing.
Q. It's been around half a month since filming ended. Does it still linger with you?
It feels like I've gotten over it, yet I wonder why I'm resting when I have to work. Because it felt like it hasn't ended. I think I'll forget it soon when I start working on my next project, but I will not force myself to forget it, and I plan to just feel it. I think it will linger with me for quite a long time.
Q. Why did you decide to participate in this drama?
When I saw the message in the synopsis saying "The king loved the court lady, but did the court lady love the king?" I thought that I've never thought about that and felt curious. As if possessed, I read the script and the novel. The novel lingered on strongly. No one was curious about the court maids' story, so since they made a drama from a court maid's perspective, I wanted to do it.
Q. In the second half of the drama, the message "The king loved the court lady, but did the court lady love the king?" began to stand out more. What do you think Deokim's feelings were when you portrayed her?
I didn't want to portray it in a way that would make people feel that the court lady didn't love the king. I worked hard to portray her in a way so people would realize that Deokim did love Yi San, but because of certain parts of reality, there were traces of pain, loneliness, wistfulness, and sorrow.  Actually, I get attracted to more proactive characters who fight to get something. For this drama, I think I worked hard to show the love story of a powerless and worthless woman who did not own much.
Q.  If the novel answered "the court maid did not love the king," what answer do you think the drama gave?
In the script, it's barely expressed in words. Deokim says "Do you still not see it? If I didn't like you, I would've done anything to run away. It was my choice to stay by your side in the end. Do you not see it?" and dies. Before that, it wasn't revealed clearly so that viewers wouldn't know and would be curious. Since it's a romance drama, (I) filmed after deciding the point she fell in love with him. "She loved him, and because she loved him, she lost a lot of things. She was happy, but not." I tried to convey that.
Q. When was "the moment her heart was moved" which you focused on in your acting?
If we're talking about the moment she fell in love with him, I think it happened gradually. If the "loyalty" she pledged at the ending of episode 5 was love, her feelings became more intense with the combination of the treason incident (ep. 9) and the Gwanghan Palace episode. And the moment she held onto his sleeve was a moment when her true feelings came out unknowingly when she's been pushing him away all this time. It was something she couldn't hide. I think she began to see San as a man when she saw his body at the end of episode 6. In the process of saving each other numerous times, she slowly fell for San.
Q. We heard that writer Jung Haeri paid attention to researching and  personally researched about The Book of Songs. Did the research materials and historical records help with your acting?
Writer Jung Haeri's preparation process was extremely long. Her work was as perfect as the preparation she put in. As for me, I contemplated and read books about the daily lives of court ladies and the parts that didn't come out in the script. Since Ui Bin and Jeongjo's story, the epitaph he wrote for her, and Tale of Gwak and Jang are in existence, I also searched and watched a lot of video clips.
Q. How similar are you to Deokim?
There are differences and similarities. Our similarity is that we want to live a simple and long life, freely. I think despite the period she lived in, Deokim wants to live her life making independent choices more than I do. I also learned and felt a lot of things. I also thought a lot about how I have to live independently. As for the difference, I own more things than Deokim did. I had a thought that I wasn't grateful for having a lot of choices. If I were to compare myself to the lively and bright Deokim in the drama's first half, our similarity would be 90%.
Q. Proactive and independent Deokim feels different from the female characters in historical dramas before. Where did you focus on while acting?
She's independent, but she wants to live a long life without getting herself into big events. She's someone who wants to live simply, and she has this helplessness where she can't do a lot of things. I tried to make her look small and worthless so that it will be sadder later. In the first half, I tried to paint dynamic scenes where she's enjoying her life. Although there were characters who wanted to become queen, I think there have been no female characters who want to live a small and simple life. In that aspect, I think it shed new light on Ui Bin. She's a proactive and independent character who's small but proud.
Q. Among the many memorable scenes, which do you want to choose as a legendary scene?
There's really a lot, but for me, the ending scene lingers the most. San reunites with Deokim in his dreams and fantasies. He stays for Deokim as a man and decides not to attend to state affairs. It was sad and beautiful because it didn't come true. The rainbow that showed up at that time wasn't done by computer graphics. It was there due to the reflection, but I thought, "That's how (he/they) crossed the rainbow bridge." It was dazzlingly beautiful and sad. There's this scene that was added on set—the scene where she bids farewell to her friends and her past self. Although it wasn't in the script, when I heard from the director that she added this scene and planned to film it, my tears won't stop flowing. It was a scene that directly expressed Deokim's emotions. That's why it was nice.
Q. The "court maid gang" in real life was also quite special.
Even after the drama ended, we're still like the court maid gang. It's a relief that we're around the same age, and there's even four of us, not three. They're all nice people that are like gems. Our relationship is really precious, so I hope it goes on like this. We're thinking of forming a climbing club that will meet every three to four weeks. They're like my precious colleagues and family. And it's not just climbing; we suggested trying things we want to do, such as swimming and horse-riding.
Q. You teased that the first night scene would be rated 19+. There were reactions saying it was milder than their imaginations.
The atmosphere on set was extremely nice. I think it was overheated. It was really hot on set. We were able to have strength and film satisfyingly because everyone was nice. It was also a comment to bring about attention and expectation for the scene. I think having a first night scene in a historical drama is already explicit enough. In the script, there was a scene where San kisses Deokim's tattoo. He unties her ribbon and removes her undershirt. While filming, (they said) "The kiss scene before this is beautiful enough, and it'll be good enough not to show more. Let's put in a scene where San wakes up at dawn while Deokim looks at him, and kisses her again." I'm sorry to the fans who feel that it's a shame, but I think it came out well.
Q. When you looked at your young court maid days in The Red Sleeve, did you think of how you played a young court maid in Dae Jang Geum when you were young?
Even the outfit was similar. The color of the jeogori (upper garment of Korean traditional clothes) was also pink. I can't really remember. I just remember the line saying "That person is an aristocrat, while I'm a middle class." (laughs)
Q. You debuted in 1997, and it's been 25 years. Do you feel regrets about the course you chose while you were young? As you started off as a child actress, we're wondering if you could relate to Deokim, who entered the palace at a young age.
I don't have regrets. If there's something you want to do, you can always try it regardless of your age. I just decided my path faster than kids my age. I didn't have unique skills or talents, so I'm grateful that I quickly found something I can do well in. If I have a new dream of doing something else, I want to challenge it. However, I want to keep acting for the rest of my life. Actually, I could relate to her a lot. Since her younger days, she continued to proceed step by step, but it was important for Deokim to keep surviving. As for my work, it is important to have big goals and dreams, but I have to keep going on to achieve those. While doing one thing for a long time, I have the wish of being good at it. While filming, I could relate to Deokim a lot.
Q. Do you have a conviction as an actress?
I don't have other convictions. I just want to act well. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep acting main characters, but I think I have to be responsible and do more than earning my keep. I feel the pressure. When I looked at my seniors, they don't just consider themselves, but everything around them. It feels like I can't just do my own thing. I want to be an actress who does my work well and acts well. I want to be an actress people believe in, whose projects people enjoy.
Q. What kind of project will The Red Sleeve be to you?
I received a lot of passionate love. I don't get reactions all the time, but I think I got a big explosive reaction (this time). It feels special. If I start working on my next project, I'll return to the starting point, but this drama will remain as a happy memory. This drama was like a gift. And we don't get gifts all the time, do we? I'll work with the mindset that if I work hard, I might get one again.  I hope people will remember it as a heartbreaking and moving love story of a king and a court lady. A drama that lingers with you whenever you think that the moment became eternity.

Do you have any favourite scene stealers? If so, who are they?
YES! I have quite a few but I’ll narrow it down :-D
My Favorite K-Drama Scene Stealers - Sidekick Edition:
Tumblr media
Park Jin Joo (Reunited Worlds, Her Private Life, While You were Sleeping)
I love this lady! She’s always a side character though her role in Her Private Life was actually pretty big. She adds fun and spunk to every show and I dream of a day that she’s a lead with my next scene stealer.
Tumblr media
Kang Ki Young (Terrius Behind Me, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Oh My Ghostess)
This dude has it! He’s HILARIOUS and just a really great actor. I almost put myself through watching Moment At Eighteen just for him but I’m not that crazy #selfcare My favorite one of his roles is probably My Secret Terrius as the stay at home dad.
Tumblr media
Kim Sun Young (Romance is a Bonus Book, When the Camellia Blooms, Her Private life and a billion other things)
Since she’s one of the main actresses that gets cast for basically any “older lady” role, she’s played a few annoying people. However she is killing it in When the Camellia Blooms and I loved her in Romance is a Bonus Book.
K-Drama Scene Stealers - Lead Addition:
Tumblr media
Shin Hye Sun (Angel’s Last Mission - Love, Secret Forest, 30 but 17)
Shin Hye Sun is my favorite k-drama actress. She’s SO good that she manages to make other people around her seem like better actors rather than worse which I think is a gift. Girl can act circles around everyone. EVERYONE.
Tumblr media
Yoo Ah In (Chicago Typewriter, Secret Love Affair, Burning)
The thing about Yoo Ah In is that he’s not your typical k-drama actor and does a lot on the big screen. He FEELS like a “more expensive” actor and even if he’s a certain character, he brings a unique feel to whoever he’s playing which is pretty rare in K-dramas.
You’ll notice that I’m my bias Ji Chang Wook and my wrecker Lee Junho didn’t make the list because I’m an equal opportunity list maker and I’m waaaaay too swayed to be fair about them :P

confession - first (belated) thoughts
Tumblr media
after i started watching the show "confession" i kept on stumbling on comments about more and more people dropping the drama, like after only watching a few episodes and honestly - i don't understand why. but of course - everyone hast their own thoughts on things they like and on things they don't like.
as for myself, healer was the first korean drama i had ever watched and i loooved it. so somehow i always liked the romance/action or romance type of dramas - where you can dwell upon those beautiful scenes of chemistry and such. on the other hand i didn't like all those thriller or investigative dramas, because they always had the typical story-line for me. but after i had seen signal I rejected my previous opinion - I rejected them even more after i started watching confession.
the series starts of with the scene where choi do hyun (lee jun ho) wants to visit his father in prison, but the interesting thing is that you only get to know their relationship after choi do hyun asks the prison guard if he actually said, that his son is visiting him. in short - thats what the drama is about - the reason why he does not want to see him and why he is there in the first place. i seriously like this little amazing things in the script writting - plus it adds such an undergoing mystery to the whole story. you see whats happening, but you dont quite understand why. the more you try to get behind he story, the more you want to know why everything is the way it is, especially how is everyone connected to each other.
in my opinion the series even has some kind of an scenery atmosphere from signal or maybe hello monster. one is always taking aback from the way the story unfolds. everytime you think thats how it is going to be - suddenly the storyline changes and with this, the drama keeps on dragging your attention. you keep on asking: really? why? is that true? - f.e. when choi gets his first state appointed case, thus he confidently delivers his statement in court, until the suspect suddenly states that he is innocent and the whole process needs to be stopped.
and of course - the thing which makes this drama really good are the actors and their way of depicting the characters. the main character choi do hyun - played by lee junho (btw goorgeous) - is so so interesting. i like his calm, relaxed, but also very responsible and straightforward way of portraying a lawyer. i mean a lot of people saw junho in chief kim and i mean wow, to go from that prosecutor to that lawyer (right now i am rewatching it)? plus the minimalistic acting? it amazes me every episode. i liked so far his passion of finding the thruth - even when it is the "ugly" thruth, f.e. when he says to the suspect: " you must at least tell me the truth. if you killed her, then you need to tell me. you reserved your statement in court without councelling me. how can i trust you?". so as a good/successful lawyer he is hated by the prosecution and he himself looks down on the police by doing a "bad" job in investigating. in fact i truly enjoy the turn of events, because he does more of what - in other opinions - a lawyer shouldn't do. this is why the development of the duo - him and the older police officer ki choon ho (yoo jae myung) - is so intense and on the other hand super interesting - it goes back and forth from disrespecting, to a kind of maybe good brother-friendship-relationship.
as this "short" review is quite late and of course i have already watched the newer episodes (but unfortunately not the 11th and 12th episodes) - i can say that it also reminds me more and more of the movie lucky number sleven (actually my most favorite one), because the things which seem unimportant at first, are getting more and more important throughout the story - so one gets more and more the "aha" and "wow"-effect. i think after watching the 8th episode i even went back to the first episodes, because at first f.e. i haven't even noticed te main lawyer at the law office, where choi do hyun had worked as a probationary lawyer.
in general i must say that the series is soooo good and sooooo freaking fast moving forward that i found myself saying "ok now the episode is over" or "wow, the process will be in two weeks. ok so we have to wait for 2 episodes until the story moves on" but no - the episode was not over and no, two weeks inside the story where like 5 sec. everytime i finished an episode i always had so much to say/discuss or to gif, but i just couldn't catch up - but on the other hand i love it, when you get this result out of a series.
one more point, which is really important for me - is the o.s.t. its really, really goooood. in some scenes its soo on point that you get the whole goose-bumb-feels (i really dont want to put up spoilers, but the scene at night, its raining and they are standing there with umbrellas - when you watch or have already watched it you'll know what i mean).
to summatize up i think over all this series is for people who are interested in an intriguing story with a lot of turn-over moments especially in the area of jurisprudence. as i have said above i myself find the characters and especially the writting for this drama superb. i hope more people will watch it and maybe like it as much as i do.
ps: i know the series is not over yet, so maybe i will slightly change my opinion - but leaving that aside, already the acting, directing and writting still deserves a looot of praise.

Sun Sign: Aquarius (Air)
So... almost half of iKON are Aquarians. Honestly, that makes a lot of sense. iKON is a pretty weird group, and Aquarians are weird. But, like, we’re proud of it! (I’m also an Aquarius, so I have to refer to Aquarians as ‘we’ - deal with it). We are very authentic to who we are, and we don’t apologize for being ourselves. I can definitely see this in Chanwoo because he doesn’t hide what he likes - baseball and video games. He doesn’t ever apologize for playing video games for hours on end or for watching baseball games while he’s getting his hair and makeup done. He also isn’t afraid to be sassy and savage to his hyungs; he doesn’t act like a typical maknae. He’s truly himself, and that’s a sign of a genuine Aquarius.
Aquarians are also known for being big humanitarians. We like to help people, and we are very focused on making the world a better place. We’re usually very involved with charities, fundraisers, food drives, or anything which brings awareness to the worlds’ problems. Chanwoo participated in the ice bucket challenge, and I feel he truly wants to use his talents to make people happy - not only because he has a passion for entertaining.
On the other hand, Aquarians are known for being very reserved when it comes to showing our emotions, and Chanwoo has said before he’ll leave a room when he needs to cry. He doesn’t like crying or showing a lot of emotion in front of people. I can totally see Chanwoo’s Aquarius traits coming through in the personality he’s shown us on iKON TV, variety shows, and his Instagram.
Moon Sign: Capricorn (Earth)
So not only is there a lot of Aquarius in iKON (Jinhwan, Yunhyeong, and Chanwoo), but there’s also a lot of Capricorn (Jinhwan is a Capricorn Moon, just like Chanwoo, and Donghyuk is a Capricorn Sun). Overall, iKON is a totally good mix of all the signs. There’s lots of Air, lots of Earth, some Fire, and even a little water sprinkled in. They’re so well-rounded!
I view Capricorns as being the most conservative Earth sign. They’re very practical, logical, and they can be kind of know-it-alls. We will see in Chanwoo’s MBTI, he’s a Thinker, so the logical aspect of Capricorn definitely applies to him. Out of all the members, he’s the only Thinker, so his Capricorn Moon really shines when he steps up with the “now, wait a minute, let’s think about this.” Like in the hidden camera episode of iKON TV when he was very wary about investing in that fake scheme.
Capricorns are also known for being honest, sometimes brutally so. This is Chanwoo’s savage side, and we all know he has one. They don’t sugarcoat things, and, as I said earlier, they think they know everything. So if a Capricorn thinks you’re wrong, you’ll hear about it. They’re not extremely arrogant or presumptuous, though! As any earth sign, Capricorns are extremely down-to-earth.
Capricorns are also known to be extremely loyal and very family-oriented. They put their loved ones first. I think we definitely saw this in Chanwoo during one of the first episodes of iKON TV when he was totally humoring Yunhyeong. He was trying to help him and make him feel better and giving in to his cheesy requests. It was so sweet, and it was so Capricorn of him.
Chinese Astrology: Fire Ox
In Chinese astrology, the Ox is seen as a ‘hard and detailed worker who performs all tasks in a determined and disciplined manner.’  They know what they want in life, and they will not let any setbacks stop them from achieving their dreams. While I think this describes just about every kpop idol, I definitely think it really applies to Chanwoo because he was the last addition to the group. The other iKON members didn’t even want a seventh person to join, but Chanwoo worked his way in - literally. He worked hard on his dancing and singing because he was previously only an actor, and look where he is now! I know all of iKON and all of iKONics are so proud of him!
The Ox is somewhat of a deep thinker and can be quite serious. Chanwoo is definitely a thinker, and while he’s not a deep thinker like Junhoe, a fellow Fire Ox, he’s more of a logical, rational deep thinker. He takes his time thinking about decisions before he makes them.
The fire Ox, in particular, is known to be an influential and firm person as well as a durable and thorough worker. They tend to have very strong views and opinions; they do not have patience when things don’t go their way. These traits definitely apply to Chanwoo’s savage side. He’s totally the definition of Evil Maknae, and the members have even described him as ‘Cheeky.’ This, to me, shows he has strong views and is impatient.
Numerology: Life Path 9
In numerology, 9 is seen as the most evolved with the strongest vibrations because it’s basically all of the other numbers wrapped up together. Life path numbers are only single digit, so it’s the highest number possible when it comes to this sort of numerology; therefore, it’s seen to be the oldest and wisest. I feel like this totally makes sense with Chanwoo because, even though he’s the youngest, he doesn’t really act like the youngest. He acts like he’s one of the oldest, to be quiet honest. This, I feel, is totally both his Capricorn moon and Life Path 9 coming through.
Those born with the life path number 9 are, in turn, seen to be old souls. We’re here to really develop spirituality, integrity, and wisdom in every aspect of our lives (I’m also a 9, so I use possessive pronouns here, too!). I feel like Chanwoo actually is working on developing his spirituality by involving himself in the activities he likes: video games and baseball. This might seem weird to some people, but spirituality really has nothing to do with religion. It’s about concerning yourself with your own soul/spirit, and what could make your soul more healthy than doing what you love, right? The fact he devotes so much time to doing what makes him happy is, in my humble opinion, a clear sign he is developing his spirituality.
Probably the most important piece of advice for a 9 is to go with the flow. Don’t get stuck in the past and learn to live in the present and embrace the future. Chanwoo needs to make sure he doesn’t get stuck on the fact he was the last member just kind of thrown into the group; even though he wasn’t a trainee for as long as everyone else, that doesn’t mean he’s not as valuable or doesn’t work as hard! He needs to focus on how hard he is working now and what he brings to the group now.
MBTI: ISTJ
Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging
Chanwoo is Introverted which means he gains energy from being either alone or with a small group of friends. I think the fact he likes playing video games is a clear sign he’s definitely an Introvert. He also likes baseball which is a pretty individualistic team sport, and he can spend a lot of time watching it alone.
Chanwoo is Sensing which means he learns through experience and using his senses. He looks at the details more than the big picture, and it’s difficult for him to imagine the possibilities of a situation. I know I keep bringing up video games and baseball, but they totally fit into his personality!! Video games and sports are very sensory, so it just makes sense why he’s so into them.
Chanwoo is Thinking which means he makes decisions more with his head instead of his heart. He is more logical and rational, and he is likely to make choices which make the most sense - not choices which necessarily make him feel better.
Chanwoo is Judging which means he prefers to live his life in a more organized manner. He’s probably not as spontaneous as other - think Junhoe - and he values structure. It also means he shows his Thinking trait the most to the world.
The ISTJ personality type is known as The Logistician. They are no-nonsense types who take time to analyze their surroundings and are known for their integrity, practical logic, and tireless dedication to duty.

rambling: wok of love, ep1-8
Here’s the thing.  I have just finished watching the 8th episode for the second time, and I am so pleased and excited in terms of the plot development but totally distracted by Seo Poong’s sexiness – he looked so good, excessively good in that black shirt: I’m confused.  So, I’m just going to ramble tonight.  Yes, this is my excuse for being rather aggressive in this post.  Please beware.  This might be unsettling and even displeasing to some, but I just have to let it out for the peace of my mind.  Before watching tonight’s episodes, and reading some of the reactions to them, I was planning on posting a follow-up to my SP analysis, but now it seems impossible for me to be as efficient and persuasive as I aim to be.  I guess I need to set it aside for a bit till I’m calmer.
Tumblr media
I had been a bit concerned about the delay in the development of love line between SP and SW because so many people seemed to have been shipping CS and SW already from the beginning – no, actually, they were doing it even before the drama started.  I was also wondering why some people are so willing to dismiss all signs of SP’s characterisation and consequently choosing to believe that the OTP is (or should be) the CS-SW pair, as if SP did not deserve SW.  (By the way, believe it or not, I myself is actually open on this matter.  I don’t mind whichever or no character is chosen by SW in the end, as long as the character developments through the love lines are substantial and her final choice a valid one.  Furthermore, to be honest, I must admit I would most likely find the SP-CS pairing at the end of the story more amusing.)
Tumblr media
I’ve read online more than a couple of viewers complaining the non-likability of SP’s character, mainly because of his arrogance.  Some of them don’t even forget to add that another actor would be likable in whatever kind of character he may be playing, however arrogant, implying that Junho could be the one to blame for making the character unlikable. (Absurd!)  First of all, as it happens, and I’m sure everybody who has watched more than a couple of dramas or read a dozen stories is perfectly aware, that the leading character is often supposed to be arrogant at the beginning, for that gives him the necessary room for improvement.  Second, and this is essentially my point that I have been discussing in my previous post, SP’s show of arrogance is otherwise a manifestation of his vulnerability: His arrogance is even given a premise for the viewers to be sympathetic towards him.  He needs to be arrogant to keep on going with his life: Arrogance is his armour.  It’s his way of dealing with his crushed identity.  Indeed, it may be an immature course to take, but that’s the very reason he needs to grow up in the story.  Having his self-esteem brutally impaired by SDH, he needed to find something he can hold on to. When he felt his whole being – his past, his present profession, and his future plan – totally denied, he had nothing left but what he can do – to cook delicious dishes.  He needs to feel accepted in the world again, and the only place where he could get the recognition and appreciation that he needed had been The Finishing Touch.  The vulnerability in his eyes is the key to understand this character.  Once you see his weakness, it’s impossible not to root for him, if not love him yet.  Those people who feel distant or indifferent to SP seem to be missing out on the details that show the depth of his emotions, quite possibly because they are so focused elsewhere.  (And I know it’s quite easy to fall into that trap.)
Tumblr media
Some more viewers persist that, while admitting SP would be the writer’s preferred choice for SW, they do not understand why SP was so suddenly interested in SW at the end of the 8th episode.  This, to me, seems to show that there’s this really firm preconceived refusal to accept SP as a leading character.  They are tenaciously ignoring the detailed portrayal of SP, and the lack of understanding in his character thereof leads to a further undermining of the significance of SP’s behaviours.  What a spiral.  I do realise that this may be the case of either the character is portrayed poorly –script-wise, direction-wise, or acting-wise, or, simply the viewers are blind to see the subtleties that are composing the character.  Most viewers who claim SP’s sudden interest in SW to be incomprehensible also mention that SP’s character is difficult to sympathise with.  Obviously, they are entitled to their own opinion and all, but that does not make them entitled to degrade other characters.  It is really frustrating to see some viewers boasting their views as the only sensible ones, just because they have no idea that they may be blinded by their love for their bias or by some preconceived notions that have derived from that love.  How can anyone miss all those signs that indicate SP is yet to learn that his feelings towards SDH might not have been true love but a sense of obligation that had been grown out of youthful infatuation and his mentor’s death?  Of course, both young SP and SDH must have believed that they were in love, but they did not succeed in cultivating the true thing.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, there were so many signs, from the first episode, that point SW as a trigger for SP’s character development and even as the answer to his quest (and questions; here, I’m thinking about George’s question mark in A Room with a View).  Remember how SP was repeating every other things SW chatted away?  SW was literally giving keys and answers to SP’s question: Is the love between SP and SDH true?  SP’s interest in SW is already there, even though he tries to act indifferently.  He notices SW in a crowded dining hall, remembers SW’s words and needs, feels compassion, and even identifies with her hunger and despair.  It’s not sudden but a gradual process.  He is certainly a bit slow to notice his own feelings; which is made a contrast with CS’s instant crush on SW, but that is the whole point of his story.  SP is going to learn the deficiencies in his character and his life through his interactions with the new people around him. He will learn the true meaning of humility, friendship, and love.  Therefore, the development in SP-SW love line is sure to make the story so much more profound and entertaining!
Tumblr media
As much as I enjoy watching those charming scenes between CS and SW (and I really do, as I have been a fan of Jang Hyuk for ever so longer than I’ve been fangirling Junho; I have watched most of his dramas since Thank You, even including the cameos in webdramas solely for his sake), I still maintain that it is SP’s potential emotional journey that gives depth to the story, where CS’s comedy gives the necessary relief from the strain.  That’s the supposed balance of the drama.  It wouldn’t work or it’s not of the writer’s intention if the story focused too much on CS’s character development.  It may be hard for some to accept it, but the writer seems to want Jang Hyuk to play the comic relief to some extent and he took the job.  He admitted when he guested a radio programme that the writer had asked him to play the “entertainment.”  He is doing a perfect job at that, and I can see people rooting for him, but the fact of the matter is, I don’t think we should expect much portrayal of his character development in this particular drama.
Tumblr media
One last detail I’d like to defend has to do with how some people are trying to make the possible SP-SW love line sound like an old classic cliché and thus boring. On the other hand, they seem to believe a love story between a gangster and a chaebol daughter as something new and refreshing, but that’s where I can confidently say they are in the wrong.  Frank Capra’s It Happened One Night (1934), the first romantic comedy film to win an Oscar instantly comes to my mind, and a long list of films, dramas, novels and comic books follows.  (I must say there are tons of romance novels and Japanese girls’ mangas, in particular, with a gangster – princess type pairing.)  Of course, Clark Gable is not exactly a gangster in the film, but he sure looks like one – coincidentally, he even has a moustache and suspenders on in this film, and he does fit in the stereotypical pattern.  I mean, it’s basically the classic Beauty and the Beast concept in the first place.  But please do not misunderstand me.  I am not saying that the cliché settings and characters are boring.  At the end of the day, what matters is how the characters themselves are idiosyncratically refreshing and how all the elements are executed in an enjoyable and satisfying way.  Whether it is a fallen chef or a sweet gangster, any character can be a cliché and simultaneously not boring.  The reason I believe they are not watching with clear eyes is how they say SP-SW is a cliché and CS-SW is not.  This is the proof of their biased views.
Tumblr media
OK, I think I’m calmed down now.  Hope I can now focus on writing up something more convincing.  Thank you for reading, if any of you have come thus far.  I really appreciate it.

[TRANS] The Star February ‘18 - Junho Interview
My Sweet Boyfriend with GODIVA
Valentine’s Day
I want to fall in sweet love with Junho
Tumblr media
Each time Junho smiled in front of the camera, the studio filled up with happy screams (?) from our female staff members. Shall we say that you could charge up your sugar levels just by looking at Junho holding the Godiva chocolate? Why did we see this desirable combination just now? Junho himself was flustered and embarrassed by everyone’s fierce reaction. The rumour has it this kind of attitude was even lovelier.
You’re now filming the drama “Rain or Shine” in Busan, right? You really came from so far away to Seoul for the photo shoot. Could I be the celebrity who’s come from the farthest place? That feels nice (laughs). Actually, it didn’t take that long to arrive, but I haven’t slept properly for a few days. We’re in the last stages of our drama filming now.
The character you’re playing in the drama, “Kangdoo,” is a really pitiful person. How did you feel shooting this sweet pictorial with chocolate today? I feel weird whenever I need to go back to Seoul for work while we film the drama in Busan. Perhaps it’s because I get so absorbed into this Kangdoo character, but then I have to go back to my regular life. At first I felt somewhat awkward when I had to smile in the beginning of this photo shoot, but then it got natural.
Do you usually purchase Godiva products? I like Godiva chocolate the most. Whenever I eat chocolate, it’s always just Godiva, I suppose? I quite often received this chocolate as a gift. And it’s a good present to give, too. I often visited their chain shop in Garosu-gil to buy gifts. I especially like the package with lots of small chocolates. It’s nice that each is a convenient mouthful. And of course, it just tastes good. (laugh)
When do you crave for sweets the most? Lately, I’ve had a lot of cravings while filming. After all, when you can’t sleep properly, your sugar levels fall. I want sweets when I work hard, when I need to use my head, when I run low on energy. For almost 5 months while filming the drama, I haven’t eaten my meals properly. Controlling what I eat, I lost around 7 kg. Lately, I’ve begun eating this and that.
If you were to use the phrase “Chocolate it XXXXX,” what would you say? “Chocolate is Love.” Doesn’t sound too good? (laughs) Personally, I like chocolate more than candies. That’s why I’ve liked Valentine’s Day over White Day.
Do you have any unforgettable Valentine’s Day memory? I liked it the most when I received chocolate from my parents. Especially from my dad. My dad is rather brusque, but he once bought chocolate on Valentine’s Day. It was really this rough-looking chocolate a father would buy. I felt really good. I had grumbled a little, saying that mom brought really pretty chocolate, so why dad bought something so ugly, but deep inside I really enjoyed eating it.
Do you have any plans for the oncoming Valentine’s Day? I will probably come back to Korea for a while in the midst of my Japanese tour. I’m going to drop by on my family. I haven’t seen them for almost half a year because of the drama filming. I should go see them with chocolate in hand.
Have you ever confessed to someone you liked giving them chocolate? In junior high? I haven’t done anything like that lately. In my junior high days, I used to flutter just thinking about giving someone chocolate on Valentine’s Day. I think I would get totally absorbed by the festival-like mood. Everyone gives and receives then, you know. If you don’t get anything, you become this unpopular guy. (I think you would’ve received lots.) Of course, I had received it sometimes. It wasn’t much though, around two or three [pieces]? I wasn’t completely poor (laughs).
When we think of Junho, you are famous among women for your warm boyfriend image. We’re curious if you’re really kind when you’re in a relationship or you’re more of a tough guy type? It depends on who’s that other person. I’m the type who adjusts to my partner. If that person is quiet, I calm down as well. If they’re talkative, I end up talking a lot, too. I tend to follow the character.
Tumblr media
White Day is coming soon, too. Is there anyone you’d like to give a candy to? Our staff members. Since I go back and forth between countries a lot for my tours abroad, I often visit duty free shops. So I gave a lot of chocolate to our drama staff members. And this time, I want to give it to my staff members who are always next to me. Originally, I’m not good at taking care of those the closest to me, but from now on, I’m going to try (laughs).
I’m curious about your ideal type. Back in the day, I used to have a detailed ideal type. But, to be honest, ideal type is just an external condition. And right now, it’s something the hardest. A person who just feels right (laughs). It’s extremely hard to look for such person. Even if there is someone like that, it’s not that easy to approach them. If I happen to meet such a person more than 3 times, I will definitely try to ask them out. If you meet someone like that more than 3 times, it’s definitely fate.
Recently, you received an Excellence Award in acting at the KBS Drama Awards. Congratulations. Is there anything you couldn’t say in your acceptance speech? I forgot to mention my parents. So I gave them a call the moment the event was over. My parents were watching the award show, I felt so sorry about that. I want to express my deep gratitude to my family. And the fans. I forgot to mention the most important people: my family and my fans. I was so nervous back then, it totally escaped my mind. My hands were so sweaty. Even my medial cleft glistened with sweat (laughs).
You also received the best couple award with Namgoong Min. The kiss on the cheek was rather impressive (laughs). After that, even Min hyung said “To think my first New Year’s kiss is with you. I couldn’t even do that with my girlfriend” (laughs). Even as I was doing it, I wondered if it was something I could do. I think I was as nervous as when I received the award (laughs).
Is there an award you’d like to receive at the next award show? There isn’t anything else I’d like to receive. I just want to be acknowledged by the people. Of course, it’s nice to get a trophy, but I want to become a person who makes people think “If Junho appears there, I must watch it.” If you become a person that others watch because they trust you, I suppose trophies eventually find you automatically.
2PM is already a 10-year-old idol group. Have you ever missed the old “beastly idol” days with 2PM when you watch your juniors? I’m active as a solo artist at the moment, so I have no longing for the stage. However, I do miss being active as a part of 2PM. I don’t know exactly how that will happen in the future because right now Taecyeon hyung is in the army, and all the other members have to take turns with their service. When I watch the activities of junior groups lately, I get to cheer for them even more. Especially, I’ve liked BTS since long before. They are really kind friends who work hard and are good at what they do. You know that once you see how they greet people, even if you get to see them while passing by. I’ve always cheered for them, hoping they would grow big, and now I feel good because they are so successful.
If 2PM gets to promote again as a group, is a there a concept you’d like to try out? I suppose we should go for something glamorous (laugh). There was this song “My House” composed by Minjun hyung, but we couldn’t promote it for more than a week. Our promotion period was cut short because of various circumstances, but the fans really loved it. We also thought that the outfits did suit us well. I think I want to try out a sexy mood concept that would be suitable for our own age group.
Now, rather than “acting idol,” the word “actor” suits you even more. It is hard to focus on both, music and acting. What do these two spheres mean to you? It is everything for me as a celebrity. I’ve always been very ambitious since I was little. So even when I’m acting, I want to stand on stage as soon as possible if I see it; and when I’m performing on stage and I get to see some script, I want to quickly go back into acting. And even so, I don’t want to neglect either. So I think that’s why I’m working even harder at it. I can’t tell if I’m good at it, but I’d like to tell myself that I’m good at working hard. I do acknowledge that I work hard (laughs).
Tumblr media
You were really busy in 2017, but I guess it was a special year for you. How would you like to remember 2018? If the year 2017 brought a lot of positive energy, in 2018, I would like to display and spout out myself more. Rather than simply accumulating popularity, I’d like to work more on the things I’m doing right now, and I want to be better at it. It would be great if I could squeeze out all the skills that I have.
I’ve heard that you’re leaving for Japan soon because of your concert. I’ll give you a minute to promote yourself. 2018 is the year when I’m having a tour in winter for the first time. I always used to have my Japanese tours in summer, and this is the first winter tour. Therefore, I think that this tour will be completely different from the previous summer tours. I’m preparing a calm concert program that can move your hearts, so please look forward to it.
Finally, what would you like to say to the fans who love you? I spent a precious year in 2017 thanks to you all. I hope that in 2018 I will be able to repay all the love you have given me.

Please do another Haikyuu Idols au but this time with all the setters 🙏
Haikyuu Setters Idol!AU
I’m sorry it took solong. I didn’t know that the setters would give me difficulty imagining them asan idol group. (Also because you said all… OTL.) BUT HERE IT IS!!!! ( I included members who are setters but haven’t been animated yet… so I guess this contains spoilers?)
Disclaimer: Once again, myreferences are from K-pop, than J-pop, since I know more about that. Conceptsand songs were by groups I am familiar with. If the captain’s one had been donewhile I was crying about Boys24, this one is brought to you by PD101S2.
Note: No Oikawa or Moniwa. They’re over here with theother captains and other random things.
The Group in General
-      What can I say, this group is just full ofpretty people. ALL ULZZANGS I TELL YOU!
-      This group also consists of mostly peoplewho project quiet, chic, and sassy image and they have been called the ‘FlowerBoy-dols’, ‘Model-dols’, ‘Sassy-dols’ and all other variants that people canthink off just to emphasize how beautiful (and sassy) they are.
-      A lot of buzz had already surrounded thisgroup even before their debut, because some of them have experienced fame indifferent forms. Fangirls are easily baited. One look at the boys and theynever looked back.
-      However, this was kind of a double edgedsword, because most people thought that they’re all just pretty faces with no actualtalent to back them up. (Haters do say the meanest things. They are most DEFINITELYWRONG of course.)
-      But that was all behind them now. Theirfanbase is as strong as ever and they’re gaining more as they promote.
-      So like, I kind of visualize that theircompany introduced the members of the group by dropping little hints/’facts’about the member all throughout the day, and will end with that member’s teaservideo and picture that details his profile.
-      Then surprise, surprise! After that shortteaser video, they actually have a short intro video, recorded with V-Live.
-      Imagine being a fangirl and doing this for10 days, every other day, just to die and resurrect again for the rest of themembers.
-      Then they update with the album highlights, and MV teasers up until their official debut.
-      When the MV had been released, and all ofthem have been introduced, they do a group v-live to formally introducethemselves as a group, inviting the support and love of the people.
The Members
Semi Eita – Eita is the Leader of the group. He alsoserves as the lead dancer and is mostly responsible for overlooking the member’sactivities. Eita started his career as back up dancer to some solo femaleartists, but he didn’t hesitate to join the agency when they recruited him. He’sthe kind of leader that doesn’t really step into the spotlight and is justcontent with letting the other member’s do their thing but knows when to puthis foot down. Always thanks fans for their gifts and for watching their liveperformances.
He’s like EXO’s Suhomixed with Ikon’s Junhoe. (IDK why…)
Sugawara Koushi – Koushi is theactual eldest of the group and serves as the lead vocalist as well as the Faceof the Group. Started as an ulzzang with an already good amount of followers, and he has the largest fanbase among all of them because of this. He wasdiscovered when he heeded the request of a fan to sing even just a short lineof a song. But since he likes to go the extra mile, he also played the guitar. Thoughhe may look innocent, fans are well aware of how much sass this boy possess, apparentwith his responses to fan questions over twitter and during fan meetings.
EXO’s Luhan is whocomes to mind for idol!Suga
Echigo Sakae – Echigo completesthe hyung line. He is the main vocals of the group because of his smooth RnBvibes. Echigo competed in a singing contest organized by the agency and he won2nd place over all, but it was enough to secure him a spot as atrainee. He’s a man of few words, but do not mistake his quietness for he is acertified deadpan snarker, to his members as well as the fans. He also likes totease the ‘middle children’ line, especially when their maknae does evil thingsto them.
Echigo is based off ofMBLAQ’s G.O, mixed with Big Bang’s Taeyang.
Akaashi Keiji – Keiji is the maindancer of the group. Develops their group’s choreography with Shigeru, withSemi occasionally lending a hand. Has quite a following, especially when hemade waves as the ‘boy who really danced well’ in one of the biggest dancestudios dance class video. It took a while for agency reps to scout him since hedoesn’t really want to become an idol and was content in dancing, but when heassisted one of the dance instructor for another idol group’s choreo, somehowchanged his mind. The long suffering responsible brother, despite being theactual youngest in the middle children line.
I would liken Keiji toEXO’s Kai.
Kozume Kenma – Kenma is the shyand young, lauded by fans as ‘genius producer-dol’ of the group. He’s veryskilled in song writing and composing, and most of the group’s songs areproduced by him, with members lending their hand in the lyrics. Sometimes, it’sthe other way around. The members collaborate with writing the lyrics, thenKenma makes a song out of it. Mostly works with a piano, but asks for Suga’shelp for guitars and Shirabu’s help when it comes to percussions. If he had thechoice, he would just stay inside the studio and make songs, but such is notthe case, so he serves as a sub-vocal (only because he doesn’t want to be inthe center of performances as much). He’s close to Keiji because he’s the onlyone who’s is warm but quiet among his same age peer.
The best reference Ihave for Kenma is EXO’s D.O
Yahaba Shigeru – Shigeru acts as thegroup’s dancer and their unofficial variety representative. Before this though,he was thought to be the second Koushi, because he exudes the soft grace, thatisn’t far behind his hyung. All this was shattered when they guested at avariety show and became a complete fountain of laughter, because of his wittycomments and clever comeback lines. Often ‘butt’s heads’ with Shirabu and createdthe Wise Guy to Shirabu’s Straight Man. And they have created memes fans callthe “Shi-Shi’s” because of this. He is also game with cross-dressing, since headmits that its part of his charm.
SHINee’s KEY is myreference for Shigeru.
Shirabu Kenjiro – Shirabu comes froma family of actors, and was actually a child actor before he made the decision totrain and become an idol instead, in his desire to create a name for his own.It wasn’t unexpected for him to be in the spotlight with the rest of hisfamily, but people mostly expected him to follow his parents’ and brother’sfootsteps. But since his history with acting is not forgotten, he’s oftentapped to act in productions but he’s only accepted minor roles, since he wantsto focus more on his idol activities. He blends in well with the group andlends his support as vocals.
Think of Infinite’s L,as the image he projects, but he actually has BTOB’s Sungjae’s playfulness inhim.
Miya Atsumu – Miya is the mainrapper of the group and the one that completes the middle children line. Has alove-hate relationship with fans because of his resting bitch face that he usesto tease them with. But his performance on stage is something they all loveabout him. Has a twin brother, who is his complete opposite and wants to be faraway from the spotlight as possible. Ever since the fans learned about this, and how mature his brother is, they found a way to tease him back and calledthem “The Prince and Pauper”, with Atsumu being the pauper, much to hisannoyance.
I think the restingbitch face is a clue enough that EXO’s Kris is my reference for Atsumu.
Koganegawa Kanji – Kogane serves asthe second rapper of the group and is actually the older of the two members ofthe maknae line. He is the tallest among the group, earning him the nickname ‘Super-SizedMaknae’. He’s also painfully new in the idol industry, but his enthusiasm andwillingness to learn, as well as his hyung’s support, helped him become moreconfident in his skills, as well as his presence in the group. Another varietyrepresentative, because of his naivety and simple mindedness. Considered a 4Dmember by the fans, but despite this, they all find him lovable because of hisenergy and determination.
Kogane reminds me ofMBLAQ’s Mir.
Kageyama Tobio – Tobio is the otherhalf of the maknae line, and is the actual maknae of the whole group. But fansoften mistake Kogane to be this, because Tobio is often too serious, and doesn’tdisplay maknae tendencies. Absolutely hates doing aegyo and claims that he doesn’tknow how. Its cringe worthy whenever he tries (and he tries really hard), but whenhe’s not thinking about it though, it shows. Fans especially finds his squinting-poutyface adorable. The official visual of the group, and not to be confused withKoushi’s Face of the Group. They’re both considered visuals, but with differentimage/projection (Koushi is the warm to Tobio’s cold). He’s a dedicated all-rounder,although he usually plays more vocal parts.
Tobio’s reference is Nu’est’sMinhyun (and I swoon)
Concept/s and Songs
-      This group started out safely enough withsongs that are influenced by jazz, like B.A.P’sCoffee Shop and Whereare You, What are You Doing.
-      Then they delved into the more ‘pop’ side, with concepts centered-around chic style and synchronized dance. Like Infinite’s Dashi Dorawa; BEAST’s Fiction;EXO’s Call Me Baby.
-      The song that I seriously think fits themthe most is C-Clown’s Shaking Heart. I don’t know why butit just does.
-      Other songs: Winner’s Really Really; VIXX’sError; Super Junior’s Devil.
-      Of course, they couldn’t escape doing cutesongs like SHINee’s Replay and Hello; Got7’s A;Astro’s Breathless; Seventeen’s Mansae; lightheartedsongs like iKon’s #WYD; Super Junior’s No Otherand Why I Like You
-      For feel fest songs they have: BTS’ SpringDay; Boys24’s Starlight; Infinite’sParadise; Nu’est’s Hello and Good Bye Bye; Winner’s Fool; and VIXX’s Only You.
-      Yeah… I guess that sums it up. Also notethat they’ve done plenty of share of covering girl group songs. Shigeru forsome reasons were able to rope most of the group, especially Suga. Once Sugasays they do it, they do it. They can’t refuse. It will be their end.
I guessthis is it?

Reasons to Watch “2 Days 1 Night“ (Season 3)
Tumblr media
I’m here to help you to understand the concept of the show. 2D1N is not that quite popular worldwide (unlike Running Man), but it has gained much popularity and has garnered high viewer ratings in Korea (RM is their time slot rival and 2D1N has actually higher ratings). In 2015 and 2016, they won Best Variety Show and Viewers' Choice Best Program on KBS. You might think that Running Man is the best or funniest show but if you will just explore more, you will find a lot of awesome variety shows just like 2D1N, Infinity Challenge and more.
What is the concept of this show?
"We visit beautiful places in Korea and do things that aren't beautiful at all." The show’s motto is “Real Wild Road Variety.” Season 3 started on December 1, 2013, and just like the past seasons, its main concept is to recommend various places of interest that viewers can visit in South Korea. The cast members take various trips throughout South Korea, including many offshore islands. While doing so, members also perform missions at a certain mealtime or point of the day to earn rewards (ex. foods that are famous in the region they visit) and to avoid punishments (ex. going into the water). They will also play a game and the winner will sleep indoors while losers will sleep outdoors. Then in the morning, a wake-up song is played to wake the members up and start their morning mission to determine the three members who will get to eat breakfast.
Who are the members?
Tumblr media
(from left to right) Defconn, Kim Joo Hyuk, Cha Taehyun, Jung Joon Young, Kim Junho and Kim Jongmin are the original members of Season 3 but Kim Joo Hyuk left the show in December 2015 as he had a busy schedule and was replaced by Yoon Shi-Yoon in May 2016.
Tumblr media
(from l-r) Kim Jongmin, Jung Joon Young, Yoon Shi Yoon, Defconn, Cha Taehyun and Kim Junho.
What can I expect while watching this show?
Tourist attractions
Watching this show might be helpful to you someday when you come to South Korea since they go in beautiful places that not a lot of people know. Don’t forget to take some notes and list down the places you want to visit too!
Tumblr media
Fooooood
Also, don’t forget to list down the food that they eat in each place that they visit! And just a friendly reminder, don’t watch this show when you’re not eating yet because I promise, they will make you feel hungry af.
Tumblr media
Bromance / OTP
Since the members are all guys, you can’t stop yourself in shipping the members to one another. Bromance is everywhere on this show. Junho and Jongmin, Jongmin and Joon Young, Junho and Joon Young, Joon Young and Donggu and many more couples that you want to ship!
Tumblr media
here’s kim couple (jongmin & junho) my fave otp of all.
Tumblr media
Missions / Games
Get ready to laugh out loud for their stupid, painful and meaningless games.
Tumblr media
Unexpected guests
In some episodes, they have a special guest that you’ll surely love. From actors to idols and even comedians. It can be a short appearance and some also join the trip for 2 days and 1 night.
Tumblr media
Teamwork / Friendship
We can’t deny that their first episode was so awkward for them but as they spend more time with each other, you can see that they became closer, have better teamwork and chemistry now. I also want to mention their special relationship with the staffs of the show. In this show, you will get familiar to the PD, writers and other staffs. It just shows that they all have a great relationship to each other and they’re having fun on shoot.
Tumblr media
Each member have different personalities. Junho is funny and devious, Jongmin is stupid and bright, Joon Young is weird and competitive, Taehyun is the happy virus, Defconn is strong and annoying, Joo Hyuk is awkward and silent while Donggu is handsome and smart. They surely have contrasting personalities but I’m sure that you will love all of them and you’ll get attach to them as time goes by (just like how I'm attracted to junho and jongmin now). Even though they are not as hot or as handsome as our actor/idol oppa. Yeah, they’re just a bunch of old men (except for joon young and donggu ofc) but they will make your day.
Tumblr media
I hope this helps you to get interested and to start watching the show. You are really missing something good if you don’t watch this! As of now, the show has 170 episodes, it’s not so hard to watch all of that right? lol. So you want to watch now? But you don’t know where to start right? Watch the video below to see their funny moments from episode 1-2. Then if they made you laugh, you can watch more episodes. I made a list of my recommended episodes, click here. Thank you and enjoy watching!
