I just… don’t agree. Sorry.
Healthy relationships are clearly better in real-life but fucked-up ones are way more dramatically interesting in fiction. In much the same way–indeed, in exactly the same way–that feudal monarchy is a hell of a lot of fun in fantasy and historical fiction novels, but complete shit to actually live under.
#i don’t find villains or toxic relationships as automatically compelling as everyone else#and good dudes with problems are sexy#like i really just don’t care that much if homelander gets yeeted into the sun but i’d die for mm or frenchie#and i’d rather have six more seasons of dick and kory being adorable than whatever was going on with dick and dawn or hank and dawn#there are of course exceptions but usually if i really love a villain it tends to be a woman#love quinn is my babygirl for life whereas joe goldberg can eat a cereal bowl full of dicks#and kevin and nora from the leftovers are one of my favorite effed up couples but i certainly don’t need a pairing to be toxic to enjoy it#you know what actually is boring? these fandom mandated rules#this sort of thing should be taken on a case by case basis always
