Sooo, I've been rewatching Riptide as you do right? And so I finally got to the episode in which Chip makes his deal with Niklaus and after refreshing my memory on that I do believe that we are entering the point in which Chip has to fullfill his end of the bargain and I'm so fucking worried actually. So first things first let's look at what Mr. Hendrix actually requested from Chip.

So in exchange for returning lost years back to Ollie Chip Has to:

-First: Make the right decision in the hole in the sea.

Arlin is supposedly still trapped below and in great pain. Niklaus for some reason NEEDS Arlin to be kept alive and he wants Chip to keep him alive no matter the consequences which worries me so fucking much. Cause first I was just worried that they are gonna go to the Black sea and find out that there is no way to save Arlin, that he'll die and this will break Chip beyond repair, but now what I'm dreading is that Arlin can't be saved in a way that matters. That Chip will have to make a decision between killing Arlin to let him rest or keep him alive and let him suffer, or even doom the whole world for the sake of preserving his painful existance and that...shit guys, just saying, we're in Black Sea now so brace your fucking selves, we're gonna C R Y. AND THE THING IS if Arlin dies SO DOES CHIP, so he really fucking Has to survive. Cause Chip promised Nik that Arlin survives so even mercy killing Arlin will be breaking a deal and Chip will turn into goop and that's just so damn bad jejdjdjsi

- Second: Supposedly there is an Orb at the hole and he can't touch it. I don't like the way he said it. Nik said sth like "not YOU at least". So what worries me is that he wants someone else to touch it and sth nad will happen because of it, but who then? Gill? Jay? I mean if they find a room with a suspicious object we can kinda count on Gill to touch it immediately, so I'm hoping that Chip doesn't get the chance to interact with it, even if he doesn't remember that he wasn't supposed to. Or maybe sth would happen if Chip touched it? Sth that Nik doesn't want to happen? Either way Chip can't do that now cause if he does he breaks the deal and fucking dies probably, so well shit.

- Third: When the time comes and Nik requests his favor from Gillion, Chip can't interfere. Whatever Nik will have Gill do, Chip can't stop it. He cannot and that of all things I fear will be the hardest thing to do. See, Nik never expected Chip to even come to him. But he was clearly glad that he can use him to shift things in his favor. I feel like whatever dark force turned Sakura into the Black Sea is connected to Alrin's life force and Nik wants the Black Sea to stay. It is messing with the world and unleashing twisted magic into it and I feel like he needs it to stay that way until Gill's time to fulfill his prophecy comes. And whatever Nik wants Gill to do Has a potential to be catastrophic.

Black Sea is definitely not the last chapter, but it's gonna be full of anguish and sorrow. Buckle the fuck up lads, we're in for a ride

🎻-To help, I actually think he'll be one of the healthiest of the boys in dealing with this with you. He'll probably either encourage you to eat or make sure you're not over doing it. He might even offer some kind of a reward for doing the healthy thing here. Like hearing him play the violin.

He'd probably try to buy you clothes that make you feel good about yourself too, if the eating disorder affects your body image.

🧪 He'd be a little kinder. Maybe her wouldn't point out anything food or body related, even during a punishment. Reiji would love his S/O, so he wouldn't be that mean.

🏀-Meet the worst boy to have in this situation. (You thought I was gonna say Kanato- Hahaha!) Honestly, Ayato will probably be okay still. Just not the best. 🎩-The good thing about Laito is he really isn't picky when it comes to looks. He truly believes everyone is beautiful and will make you feel that way. If it is a disorder that doesn't tie into body image, he will be making sure you are eating right. You'll definitely see a more realistic side of emotion in him during this time.

imagine nobody else really knows and ivan lives the rest of his life trapped in the gilded cage that is his own terrarium/greenhouse in unsha's holiday home outside the city lmao. he still doesnt have a collar bc hes a good boy but now has a tracker implanted on him like how actual pets get chipped and all. it's why he literally can't step out of the greenhouse : the alarms start blaring the moment the sensors catch the tracker outside its intended bounds.

but then in true mysterious ivan fashion, he somehow manages to contact hyuna (idk how he'd do it. ill think about it later but lets suspend our disbelief some more). idk if hyuna tells anyone else that ivan's actually alive but ivan becomes their secret mole for rebel operations. unsha's holiday home (or the unused annexes anyways) becomes a temporary safehouse/midpoint for the rebels. does unsha know ? does his wife know ? who knows

and im kinda picturing unsha's wife as a midway point between shine and nigeh. she's a bit more sympathetic towards humans kind of like shine because of how unsha got ivan but still views them as pets/porcelain dolls to display. she views ivan as a rescue, essentially 🧍 she believes she's doing him good by providing him rest after all his hard work when really she just clipped off his wings and uprooted any hope for freedom 🤷

imagine her taking ivan around planets every week or so for a much-needed walk (its like going to different countries every weekend to experience something new)

in that case, ivan probably wouldn't have the most time to communicate with the rebels... and i imagine that unsha's home wouldn't even be on the same planet as them.

its alien stage! be courageous! these aliens have probably taken over entire solar systems! occupies an entire galaxy!

that being said, i think the rebellion would advance quickly, and they'd be able to go from planet to planet too... and, from then on, ivan could be a sort of scout for them as his caretaker brings him to different planets.

ivan has a moniker—maybe navi or sorrow—when he shares information to hyuna. the only one who would be able to tell its ivan would be till, but hyuna doesn't go in depth about where she gets the info, so they don't know ivan is alive.

was thinking of titling it Flyaway or sometihng of the like but basically:

RAFT is the main superhero organization. jay's grandma (cant remember her name) is a retired hero but she oversees everything. Jayson ferin is like. the most iconic/popular hero because he's jayson ferin.

Jay is a superhero in this au, obviously. Ava was, too, and she was just as notorious as her father for how powerful she was,, loved by the people,, etc.. Jay mentored under her until Ava died (allegedly to the hands of villains), and then she flung herself harder into the hero program, training harder to be better and better because 1: pressure from her father and 2: avenging ava.

Gillion is a disgraced ex-hero turned vigilante, because he couldn't bear not to continue fighting even after being discharged. likely got fired because he prioritized defeating a villain over protecting civillian lives, kinda similar to his og banishment in canon.

ORR if i include the undersea, he could be an ex-hero from there who was exiled.

ORRRRRR it'd be really funny if he was just some Poor Guy who washed up ashore. and become a vigilante.

Chip is a villain who used to run with the black rose syndicate, who were a pretty notorious villain group who mysteriously went silent one day. He used to run around with some sort of syndicate that Price put together but disbanded from them a couple days ago.

Drey was in the hero training program but he defected (i think that's the right word) before he could be officially become a hero. he's usually not addressed at all by the ferins, yk, being the family's black sheep and all.

I'd probably start the actual writing things off with like. Jay waitressing at the restaurant her mom owns (civilian identity is hidden,, both her and her mom are just normal people) and Chip overhearing her whisper something TRYING to be subtle about her father, and her mom makes a comment about like. "well, y'know what your father would say. he'd say you're ending up like drey etc etc. but i trust you know what you're doing, sweetheart".

and him hearing drey's name is what gets him like oh. OHHH. and he quickly makes the connections because he heard about drey's family when he was still with the black rose. and he's like. drey.... these people have red hair.... so he starts pestering jay and she's all annoyed until chip takes a shot in the dark and refers to her by her superhero name. and that finally gets her to listen but shes like "hey what the FUCK is wrong with you"

and chip's like "you know drey! i knew him too!"

and it spirals until they make a very tentative deal where chip is like. okay. come out with me for one night doing "evil villain" stuff. there's more to life than being a hero. "villains" aren't all fucking awful, man. while he's doing this thought he does the very villainous thing of holding her identity over her head so she HAS to agree.

and we all know about ep 53 and jay's intentions when going w/chip in canon, so it'd probably be the same thing-- her wanting to get clsoer to the people who killed ava, and spending time with villains.

but on that night out they're on a rooftop and she has a Moment where she's happy and free without the eyes of the public on her every move as a ferin and chip's like. i told you so. and jay's like no fuck you die. :((

anyways i think itd be hilarious if they ran across gillion trying to do a whole fucking battle with some poor fellow robbing a corner store

Has Roxy or any of the others ever attempted to actually kill Gregory for real after everything, be it for shattering them or allegedly trying to kill Cassie or something else? If yes, how? How did it go? What or who stopped them? How was the aftermath of the whole thing?

Kill Gregory? No. Severely tempted, but no attempts.

Freddy however? Yes. Absolutely.

I think it would be really funny if DJ accidentally almost killed him. Least likely you'd think to do it, but he saw him near the others in the Fazcade and saw red. And by saw red, I mean he kinda just slapped Freddy across the room and wasn't paying attention to how much strength he put into it lmao. That or he picked him up and yeeted him, also not paying enough attention to how much power he used. Roxy checked him and was genuinely disappointed it just almost killed him

On that note, Roxy has made an actual attempt. If Freddy did his fucking job none of them would have had their parts taken, the Plex may not have gone to ruin, and Cassie may not have even gone to the Plex looking for Gregory to get to be dropped like she was, nevermind the fact if Freddy was with him he should have stopped him again. She's mad. Baby on the warpath lmao

She said she wanted to have a real conversation with him about what went down and he agreed to meet her at the salon maybe. Or maybe the room where Bonnie's body was for the added meaning if this is a timeline where Roxy was forced to deactivate him in there. Like "this is the room I had to deactivate your boyfriend in." and he's like "wot" and yeah that'd be dramatic as fuck. Anyway, she tricks him into meeting her, she beats the everloving shit out of him, targetting the areas the rest of them were hurt in the most (including Cassie), then rips his battery out for Bonnie. Of course, he deactivates with no power source and that's when she has the opportunity to actually kill him but she genuinely can't bring herself to do it. She's not a killer at heart, she couldn't do it.

Instead, she drags his ass down to parts and services and if it's doable, she removes the upgraded parts from him and replaces them with the old ones he had. Lets some automated repair thing do its job and fucks off. He's fine. She barely had a scratch on her despite him obviously fighting back so it's easy to brush off.

Oh you know what actually? Imagine that, but Bonnie did it.

Can you imagine that? Bonnie loved him. He's realised what's happened, what really happened, and that Freddy did nothing. The utter betrayal, the sheer grief of what he's done... if he still has the parts, it makes him boil to look at him and see Roxy's eyes looking back at him, hear the slight clicks from Chica's voicebox when he speaks, and Monty's claws waving at him.

He does the same as I mentioned. He doesn't say a word to anyone. He says he wants to talk to Freddy alone about everything that's happened and Freddy, of course, agrees. He still loves him after all. He'd do anything Bonnie asked of him, making it a little too easy to get him by himself.

If the bit about Roxy deactivating him in that room behind the bowling lanes is true here, that's where he takes Freddy. He tells him what happened here and Freddy doesn't really know what to say. Clearly, he's upset that Roxy did that though. He'd assumed it was Monty. Bonnie tells him that he's caused enough pain and it's about time someone put an end to it. Freddy doesn't understand until Bonnie jumps him. He yells that this is for Chica as he goes for the voicebox, this is for Monty as he breaks his wrists, this is for Cassie as he struggles and rips his leg out of the socket, and this is for Roxy as he destroys his eyes.

He puts his hand on Freddy's battery through the ruined stomach hatch doors. "And this is for me." he growls, tears falling fast. Freddy goes still when the battery is removed. Bonnie moves to his head where all of his personality chips are stored. "This... this is for us..." he says even though he can't be heard. He tries... but he can't do it. He's been screaming and crying this whole time as he gives him what he feels he deserves, but this hurts more than before this so called justice was served.

He can't do it. Freddy's face is stained with tears too. He just can't bring himself to do it. Everything hurts so much.

Finally, Roxy and her Minis show up. Either they only just saw him through the walls, or Helpi alerted her to something being up if she doesn't have her fancy eyes now. She finds him on his knees, clinging to Freddy's head and scream sobbing into him. She doesn't know what to do for a long few moments, but eventually goes to his side to offer the most support she can.

She doesn't exactly cover up what happened. She just makes sure Freddy ends up in parts and services and doesn't say a word. Not like anyone's gonna ask. She does alert the others that Bonnie could do with some love and they have him buried in support before he can blink. Cassie gives him doctor's orders to stay in the Fazcade with everyone and he ends up camping out there for maybe a month or two minimum. He says he wishes he'd done it, but he also cries about how he had no idea why it would help. He tells them what happened, even though Roxy doesn't mention it and yeah he's not leaving their sight for a good while now. Not cause he might try again, but so they can make sure to be there for him when he's struggling instead of letting his emotions fester into this.

On another note, I think the Minis could make an attempt. There's enough of them to overwhelm Freddy if need be and it would be incredibly unexpected. Poppet the one leading this one, Freddy is disabled somehow by them but not deactivated. Poppet's reaching for his chips to destroy them, when Roxy barrels in with Bobbin and Tippy. They were set to distract her but they both cracked like eggs and she came to put a stop to it. They don't understand why she'd do that or why she'd care about whether Freddy lives or dies, and the truth is, she doesn't. But is Freddy worth having blood on their hands forever? Is he worth having to deal with that for the rest of their lives? Wouldn't it be more satisfying to not let him take the easy way out of this? Is he worth robbing Chica, Monty, Cassie, Sunny, Moon and DJ of their own justice?

If this works, Freddy thanks her... and immediately gets punched hard enough his head does a full 360. She didn't fucking save him. She just made sure her oldest friends knew he wasn't fucking worth it. If he goes anywhere near the Minis again, they're gonna be the least of his fucking worries.

Anyway, the aftermath of all of these (except DJ's since he recognises that was an accident) is that Freddy realises he's not safe here. Be it because of Roxy, the Minis or Bonnie, he no longer feels safe. Or maybe he does because he believes they've got it out of their system and/or was deactivated before he realised they were gonna kill him. Bonnie's hurts the most though. The betrayal hurts like hell and he wonders if this is what all the others felt when he left them. He just now considers that maybe he deserved this... I mean he doesn't, but he's gonna start Thinking about it at least. I think Bonnie is the only option that would really upset him. He could expect this kind of shit from Roxy and the Minis, but Bonnie? Never.

It was supposed to be Freddy and Bonnie, forever and ever... but apparently, forever doesn't last as long as he thought it did.

Anyway, Gregory would be furious, I don't think that'd go over well at all, and Vanessa would.... probably also be a little mad, but incredibly torn cause like. Yeah. She can see why. She really hates being stuck in the middle of all of this...

That's just some ideas to chew on though. I'm not sure it would ever come to this kind of thing, but you never know! Could be a fun story! Especially for pain and misery!

since i am so normal i started up an earthspark warrior cats au and then my friends (hi friends @echoblaze5 @benadrylcandlewhack @velvety-vixen @badgerdigsbones @satellitedish38) brainstormed more ideas for it so big thanks to them. anyways here's the stuff under the cut:

okay so i'm still chipping away at actual plot but the current sort of story is that megatron (he's called stoneheart in this au and badger came up with that name so ty badger) led his own clan that was basically the decepticons and went to war with the autobot clan. at a certain point he has a bit of a change of heart and is like "so guys. maybe this fighting isn't worth it"

his warriors are understandably like "dude what the fuck do you mean. we've been fighting for YOU and now you're backing out. traitor" and he ends up getting chased out. optimus (who i havent thought of a name for yet) is like "oh you silly goose. if you want peace then come on over and live with us!!!"

it's. a big adjustment.

he goes from stonestar to stoneheart and literally no one but optimus trusts him because they used to be pretty tight

also this has no big impact on the plot but i thought it'd be cool if autoclan (that is NOT their actual name i am working on it!!!) lived in a cave on a mountain and decepticlan (again not their name) lived on an island in a lake to sort of resemble how things were in g1. you know with the ark in the mountain and the nemesis underwater. yeah you get it

ANYWAAAYSSS. decepticlan's a bit messy after they drove out stoneheart because they didn't really think that far ahead, it all just kind of happened. starscream (who i'm gonna call finchshriek for now) is like "guys i'm the deputy so duh i'm the leader"

back in autoclan barn cats dot and alex join with their apprentice-aged kits robby and mo!!! most of the humans r probably kittypets (suggested by echo) but the maltos are barn cats and they r small enough to lay on fluffy ears

eventually dot and alex have two more kits, twitchkit and thrashkit! because yeah if we can have kits with the prefix "flip" then they can keep their names

stoneheart's been a warrior in autoclan for a while now and optimus is like "hey. hey watch this" and makes him twitchpaw's mentor when the time comes

okay pretty much everyone was talking about this (except me cuz i was drawing) but miko is a hardcore kittypet with a spiked collar and her owners put pink streaks in her fur. she follows bulkhead around a lot and talks his ear off. and we came to the conclusion that bulkhead is also a valid warrior name!!!!

also elita is the deputy of autoclan. i might name her something like rosethorn

twitchpaw and thrashpaw's warrior names r twitchflight and thrashkick

nightshade, jawbreaker, and hashtag also exist. nightshade already has a warrior name so that one was easy. jawbreaker might be called something like boulderjaw (or who knows might just say fuck it and keep jawbreaker) and for hashtag, we settled on the prefix "flash"

jawbreaker's mentor is gonna be grimlock. hashtag's will be rosethorn

i just thought of this while typing but i think the dinobots could all just be a random litter of kits wheeljack found abandoned in the wounds and he'd adopt them

speaking of wheeljack!!! he is missing an ear and has a bobtail because velvet said so and is absolutely correct. that's kinda it for him for now

bumblebee is called beestrike!!! as an apprentice he was friends with breakdown (who i might call blueleap or blueskip cuz he's got a fearless attitude or whatever) and they'd meet up at gatherings and sometimes in secret by sneaking out of their camps. ben was like "bee could be like how graystripe was whenever he saw silverstream and make little cat biscuits" and yeah that's pretty much him. once the war breaks out their friendship becomes strained and even when there's peace, it's gonna be a little awkward at first

OHhhh, your post on John wanting to be a machine has got me thinking! So in Marathon, I know my asks have been bringing up marathon up a lot but bare with me, they have battleroids instead of spartans. For a quick recap, they are dead soldiers who got their organs and bones replaced with better materials AS WELL AS getting part of their brain redone with AI chips. The game isn't totally clear how human battleroids are or how they are in society, but I think they're kinda like sleeper agents maybe?(iirc I think battleroids and actually be programmed) Anyway, I wonder if John would envy the battleroids a little bit. I also wonder if ONI tried to make their own battleroids, either from dead ODSTS or Spartans. (Halsey wouldn't be very happy about the latter) Also whoops for another long ask, I hope you have a good rest of your week!

DELAYED RESPONSE because I think I was busy getting myself rate limited at the time but:

I kind of joke about Chief wanting to be a machine, but it's a little like (...not to get too dark I hope) passively wanting to not exist vs actively making a plan to die. So on the one hand there's this part of him that is like man it would be cool to just do stuff and not have feelings about it but I do think he's not so far gone into that that he'd actually actively in his mind want to be a cyborg zombie.

(I don't know/remember about this part of Marathon lol.)

As far as Halo stuff goes, I think the problem they'd run into is it's just a whole hell of a lot cheaper to use human beings for most things than artificial intelligences that are sharp enough to be adaptable and creative, which are expensive AND ethically dicey AND have a very short operational lifespan.

in my mind satan is effectively the same age as lucifer. or, at least, everything about lucifer that was "wrong" for an angel. lucifer's doubt is what became the wrath that became satan, and like here's the thing, that's canon? it's so weird to me how the fandom interpretation of his birth is "lucifer had feelings so hard that one time that he made a feelings baby" when the actual lore is so much cooler??

like, satan was born from defeat. from lucifer's wrath leaving his body as he fell. like maybe he was freed by feeling such disgust with his failure, or maybe he knew that he existed out of lucifer's desire to protect lilith and he was able to free himself because he wanted to give lucifer a better chance of saving her.

satan came to exist through the slow, steady churn of decay that happens when you make something as pure and as powerful as lucifer and tell it the injustice it is experiencing is righteous. satan isn't just wrath, he's lucifer's wrath, specifically, with all of that developing morality and edge-case sanity still in him like chewed gum. no wonder he's born hating his creator when his entire existence has been torture.

which is another thing, i fully believe satan remembers being a part of lucifer. not completely, more like spotty feelings and vibes, maybe a few specific moments. But Whatever

point is a case could be made that he's old as shit. i think he was created as an adult because he'd objectively already existed too long to be a child.

Emma (Takemichi) "Eh, Michi? Can we go get ice cream?" The little girl gazed up at her current supervisor, Emma had forgotten that she was supposed to have a summer job interview while they were out, so they had gone to the workplace to wait nearby as she had called Takemichi and asked him to keep the little girl occupied until her interview was done. "Sure, Emma's supposed to text me when she's done anyway." Takemichi shrugged from where he sat in a cafe booth across from the little girl, they had come to a nearby coffee house to sit and enjoy some snacks and drinks. It had been 15 minutes, mostly spent with Takemichi listening to the little girl tell stories about the chaos that happens in their house. The young male had been a bit anxious about watching the young girl on his own, especially since she was Mikey's baby sister, but by this point he had become pretty comfortable since it wasn't like she was constantly trying to cause problems. The boy moved to stand, motioning the young girl to follow him out. "So what kinda ice cream are you gonna get Say?" The older blonde tilted his head, hands in his pockets as the little girl walked at his side. "I'm craving rainbow sherbet, I really like the lime flavor. What about you Michi?" Sayuri tilted her head up to look at him, watching the male think of his answer. "I think I'll get some strawberry with chocolate sauce." He chuckled with a nod, the sound of it already having him in the ice cream kinda mood. "So is rainbow sherbet your favorite?" He looked back to the girl; this time it was her turn to think. She was quiet for a few minutes, then nodded. "I do really like it, but I also really like the peanut butter cookie and the mint chocolate chip ice cream. So, t really just kinda depends on the day." Takemichi nodded with an understanding face, he almost wanted to change his mind to the peanut butter cookie ice cream now that she mentioned but he figured he'd wait til her brought Hina out for ice cream later on. "Those are some pretty good choices; the cinnamon swirl sweet cream is really good too. It kinda reminds me of cereal." He chuckled as the girl nodded, giving her own giggle as they approached the ice-cream shop. "You'd like the churro ice-cream then, I had it once at a beach fair Mikey took me too. " The little girl's recommendation was followed by a low rumble from Takemichi, all this talk of ice cream flavors had him starving. "Let's get in there before I have to explain to Emma why we ended up splitting one of everything on the menu." He chuckled as he placed a hand on the back of her shoulders and guided her inside, listening to her giggle as she ran up to the scoop line to look at all the flavors, they had out that day. "Do you like cups or cones Say?" Takemichi smiled as he looked over the flavors before going with his previous choice, he was more making sure at least one of Hina's favorites was available that day. "I like cups, fresh waffle cones are ok sometimes, but most waffle cones feel like I'm biting into Styrofoam." She giggled as they waited their turn in line, watching Takemichi nod. "Yeah, I get that, some things just feel weird to eat." He chuckled as they moved forward in line, he scoped out the place to try and spot them a seat and found a comfy looking booth in the back corner. "I'll text your sister when we get to our seats, let her know where we are."

Shinichiro (Wakasa) "Hey Waka?" Sayuri called out the man who sat behind her, she was situated between his legs as he was styling her hair. Shinichiro had gone out to pick up some food and drinks for a movie night, leaving Say and Wakasa to fill in the time. "Yeah?" He shifted the lollipop he had in his mouth as he spoke, one hand had a brush in it and the other had a couple ponytail holders. He was attempting to do her hair half up and half down, planning to braid the top few layers on the side and pull it back to let it hang flat against the rest of her hair. "Do you do your own hair?" She tapped her feet together; she was wearing her favorite pair of silk pajamas. Wakasa had been in a tank top and sweatpants as he planned to crash with her brother for the night, they planned to have an adult only party once she had gone to bed. "Sure do, sometimes a few of us will get together and we'll all dye or bleach our hair. It makes it easier when you have a couple extra hands." He began to separate her fringe from the rest of the crown, brushing it back as he pulled some of the hair from the side up as well to try and make it a bite more even. "That's cool, we do something similar but it's mostly Shin and Zana doing everyone else's hair." She giggled as the male hummed at her response, nodding his head. "Yeah, I could definitely see that, those 2 along with Sanzu and Kokonoi are really into doing hair so they can take over the party sometimes." He chuckled a bit at how they turn into such mother hens when it comes to cutting, dying and styling everyone's hair. "Yeah, I believe that Haru and Koko have been trying to talk Shin and Zana into letting them do my hair next time. Shin is just worried they might get a little to into it. I think it would be fun though." Wakasa chuckled at her rambled statement, he had recalled over hearing Kokonoi and Sanzu plotting to give her galaxy or mermaid hair in the past. Kokonoi specifically even talking about getting her colored extensions so she could have metallic streaks. He was somewhat astonished at how the little girl managed to worm her way close to the men of the gang, she basically had a group of the most dangerous guard dogs in the city. "I'm sure they'll win him over soon enough, after all they'd never fry your hair off. They're too good at what they do." Wakasa reassured her as he finished with the braid and tied it off. Nodding to himself after making sure it was even, he gave her a pat on the head. "Alright kid, go check it out in the mirror and tell me what you think." With that she had hopped to her feet, leaving her chuckling friend sitting in the living room floor as she scampered to the guest bathroom nearby to check out the newest style. And probably to take some pictures.

Mikey (Mitsuya) "Take a look at these color swatches and tell me what you think Say." Mitsuya passed the small girl a flip book of color swatches, he had been struggling with inspiration, so he decided to let Sayuri design his newest outfit and he'd bring it to life. So far she had chosen a longer sleeveless cheongsam, she included a mandarin style color with a butterfly shaped clip. Now they were picking colors and patterns, he had been curious about her attention to detail and seemed to have some idea of fashion. "So how about a cool tone white background and then use this pastel pink and mint green to create a swirly smokey pattern, we can do the trim gold too." She sat out the colors in front of him, letting the male look over them curiously as he tried to build the design in his head. "Alright, that sounds kinda nice actually. You wait here and I'll grab my sketch pad, then we can get to work on a physical sketch." Mitsuya was quick stand and gather his things, she was starting to get his creative clog unblocked. It had been a while since he had done a slightly more subtle piece, and this one seemed like it would absolutely glow with the right accessories. Soon enough he was sitting down, letting her sit on his lap as he balanced the pad across her legs. This way they could both see, and she could easily point out anything she thought would need to be changed, he had done this before with his sisters, but they didn't quite understand fashion and while the outfits they designed were cute and perfect for them, Say's design may be one that could easily attract buyers. "If this goes well, I'll see if we can find anyone to buy and reproduce the design, if they do then we'll get you a little emergency fund so you can save some money in case there's something you really want."

Mitsuya had heard her turn down Kokonoi's offer of spoils before, so he knew she preferred earning her money so this was an easy way to bypass her morals. "That's cool, I wanna go to the zoo this Halloween for a festival they're holding, so if it all works out, I'll have more than enough for games and booths." She giggled at the thought, messing his own smile as her goals reminded him of something his own little sisters would have said. "Already thinking that far ahead? You must really like Halloween, maybe after this we can work on your costume." Mitsuya had begun to sketch out the body model before working on the rough sketch of what she wanted so they could get a look and decide what to change or remove, watching the little girl giggle. "Nah we don't gotta, Kokonoi mad me promise to let him buy me and outfit on the holidays. So, the first of October we're supposed to go and get my measurements." Mitsuya chuckled, he should have figured Kokonoi was too stubborn to give up. But he understood the desire to give someone a gift on a holiday. "I see, that sounds like fun. It's always nice to get something custom every now and then, I'll check my schedule and see if I can take my sisters to the festival this year. They've been busy at summer camp, so you haven't gotten to meet them yet, but I'm sure you'll get along."

Izana (Takeomi) "You know it aint smart to doze off standing up right?" Takeomi chuckled as he squatted down, it was another late-night meeting and Sayuri had come along since she was struggling to sleep that night. Mikey had been talking for about an hour and Sayuri had decided to stand with the group because she didn't want to be stared at. "I know, it just feels really nice out." She yawned softly, making the taller male chuckle. "How about we sneak off to the playground nearby then, the swings should be empty around this time. What do ya say." He was kinda bored, especially since most of what was being addressed was for the newer members. He watched the girl rub her eyes and nod, stretching some with a groan. "That sounds good, I just need to move around a bit. Standing like this is making me sore." Takeomi nodded before standing straight, offering his hand to her before shooting Izana a text that he was taking her to the park and to let them know when most of the talking is done. The little blonde girl had reached out and took his hand, letting the trusted male lead her to the nearby park. A nice breeze brushing past had woken her up once more, making her hum and delight. "The weather is so nice tonight." Takeomi chuckled as he smoked his cigarette, looking up at the clear sky with a nod. "It could certainly be worse, especially with how it was raining last night." It took only a few minutes for the pair to make it to the park, he watched her skip ahead and go over to one of the swings.

She climbed into one of the taller swings, leaving her feet completely off the ground as she sighed in relief. "I hate standing around, it makes me ankles and feet hurt." She rolled her foot, able to hear several soft pops from it. This made the older male raise an eyebrow as he walked behind her, giving her a gentle push to get her swinging. "Did something happen? Your ankle aint supposed to pop like that sweetheart." Every time she'd swing back, he'd gently push her forward, watching her swing her legs as she'd steadily went higher. He moved to sit in the swing next to hers, watching her as she seemed to think for a moment. "It happened a few years ago, mom came home drunk and shoved me back when she tripped, and I tripped over the coffee table weird. It hurt for a while, but it's fine now." Takeomi stared quietly for a moment, absorbing her statement before he nodded. "I see, that had to suck. You should say something to the doctor the next time you see them, just to make sure it's healed right." He like many others was curious about her life before she joined the Sano family, so they always paid attention when she volunteered information. But he didn't really expect to hear what he did, he heard her life was trash but the absolute negligence when it came to her safety had his mind wondering into dark places. He'd certainly be sharing this information with the brothers later, just to make sure they're aware and get her checked over for any sort of poorly healed injuries. "Yeah, you're right, I have another appointment in a week, so I'll say something then." She smiled over to the taller man; she appreciated his curiosity and desire to ensure her health.

I think Hanako made Nene his assistant because he needed one to break all the Yorishiros: my idea is that his wish was originally to bring Tsukasa back to life in some way (like reincarnation?) but hen he fell for Nene his goal may have changed: I believe his goal is BOTH for Nene and Tsukasa to live, probably without him

disagree; I think Hanako's "we have no future" with himself and Tsukasa's shinjuu, was intended as a permanent cursing of them both, and that gesture is permanent and will not be rescinded. Absolution, oblivion. A promise to Tsukasa to never leave, and never let Tsukasa go. Whatever his intentions were, they were absolute, I think… I earnestly don't think he'd want Tsukasa to live without him. I don't think he trusts Tsukasa to live on without him, because he WOULDN'T, given that Tsukasa ALREADY was slated to live a normal happy life, but GAVE THAT UP for AMANE as a child! I think Amane implicitly understands that Tsukasa could not, would not, will not, will never, live a life without him. I think of Tsukasa and Amane, right now anyway, as "further along" in some realizations/indulgences than HanaNene (wherein Hanako is TRYING!!!! to not repeat his past, but failing… seeking to trap her forever in Picture Perfect. RESISTING doing what he REALLY wants. and unable to accept his importance to her, wanting to believe she is merely a foolish girl, who can forget him <-mean of him).

I think Amane trying to enable Nene-chan to live without him in the Severance is a very new (and in his mind, noble) action, bespoke to Nene-chan…

I think the concept of himself and Tsukasa in oblivion together is already actualized, consummation happened, and I don't think Amane would let Tsukasa exist without him … I want to imagine right now anyway that he feels entitled to him somehow, maybe Tsukasa did something or expressed something in life which lead to Amane's virulent feeling of possession. I'm sure Tsukasa himself has never conceptualized his own future. After all, while Amane has some timelines he is alive and older, Tsukasa appears to have absolutely none. As far as we know, anyway.

I don't think Amane would conceptualize letting Tsukasa go, I think he feels simply that Tsukasa is 'his' and that is, that.

I think he wants Nene-chan to live, and would/will gladly explode himself and Tsukasa both to achieve it. I don't think Amane himself can really imagine things extremely world-breaking … I think only Tsukasa can think outside of the restrictions of the world, and only after all he's been through. I guess I think TSUKASA holds the most hopeful and beautiful ending in his own conceptualization, but I also think if anybody is planning to explode to enable a timeline of peace, it would be Tsukasa, who is staging everything here, and who has the most understanding of how to break the rules, and the most power to offer in his sacrifice. I kinda think Tsukasa .... ONLY sees his life as an expendable chip. I don't think he can think of himself any other way. (... and maybe Amane knows this and struggles to thwart it, lol)

I think /Tsukasa/ would want to die to enable Amane and Nene-chan to live together in a new timeline… euurhh this delusion was kind of fueled more by Narisokonai Snow White which, had a reject disowned twin brother, doing all he could to push a princess towards his 'more deserving' 'better' twin, while also planning imminent suicide… and that princess and the 'better' twin had an established romance, first.

further delusions though I think Tsukasa also loves Nene-chan, but is further behind in even understanding his own feelings of love, due to ah, lack of experience, lack of insight, and, ah, always thinking of his life only in relation to Amane's (disease), and seeing Nene-chan as ultimately Amane's lover (.... so he struggles to respectfully address his own feelings for her, or any feelings which don't service Amane's life first)

-so like i said in the intial post, very young regressor jimmy. sometimes he really really wants his dad. he doesn't understand why he can't have his dad, doesn't understand that his dad is a fundamentally different person than who he was when he was a kid

-that being said, michael will not turn down an opportunity to spend time with jimmy - he hates him but he loves him and doesn't like how much time he spends holed up in his room so any time he's out is a good time

-i feel this is likely in a reality where michael has no idea what age regression is. and i fear for jimmy to be able to get what he wants out of this he'd have to explain it. somehow.

-he would explain it in the worst most awkward way possible. "um so like sometimes. well you know uhhh sometimes it's kinda like i feel like i'm like?? a kid or something. i dunno it doesn't really make sense. do you want to play video games with me."

-and that's one of the main things they would spend a lot of time doing. despite what one may think jimmy doesn't only have extremely graphically violent games - i don't know what the gta universe equivalent would be but i think they would really enjoy playing co-op games like it takes two together

-important thing to note: michael is so fucking bad at video games. like unbelievably bad. which makes jimmy laugh which makes him happy which makes michael happy.

-they're just being silly together all the time honestly. michael will get them chips and soda and candy and they play games and watch movies and sometimes. just sometimes. michael will read to jimmy. and that opens up a long since scarred over sore on his heart. because that is one of the things he misses most about when the kids were young. he misses being their dad and not just the adult man they live with, and because of his. occupation at the time he feels like he wasn't the best dad he could be. so he values these moments with jimmy now, even if he doesn't completely understand why it's happening

because like, two of my friends were actively curious and encouraged me to talk about my memories of the managers, so! i guess we'll start with the more tame of the two sets of memories. also heads up, these are mostly just for people i actively remember being around a lot or have actual memories of. uhh, people like cosmo, belle, tawney, holly, etc. aren't included because i was never around them enough to have an actual input on them as cogs.

benjamin biggs; very into sharing drama with people, i've listened to him maybe 5-6 times just go off about a set of cogs and then told me about rain & derrick man. outside of that i didn't really talk to him much? i've heard more from other toons if anything like how he's a bitch to fight because half the time he just taunts people then gets really loud with the stupid ringing.

buck ruffler; i more ran into buck a lot because we both had a mutual attachment to gambling. like, we became friends (sorta) over me running into him to play slots or something. quack was really fun to be around, really loud like me. we both matched each others energies really intensely and if anyone else was around they'd get annoyed super fucking fast. uhh buck didn't really give a shit that i broke the filter and thought it was really funny, we'd get into cussing matches in the server when it was dead so i didn't get caught by pete /silly

chip revvington; was NOT a fan of me by any means, i'm a horrible influence on pancake so he'd get really annoyed when he found out i was hanging out with her a lot. not to mention i was her SISTER FIGURE? outrageous! uhh, chip tended to be really quiet and reserved when we were alone though, it was really awkward but there were a few times when i was upset that he actually dropped the "i hate you" act and just kind of awkwardly asked me if i was okay and if he could help at all. i didn't really know what to do but it usually lead to just me being held. even if he hated me he kinda sucked at it /silly

dave brubot; really weird friendship with this guy. i hit him with a golf cart, he emoted, and slid/ran off for a good couple weeks before i'd see him again. uhh, met up again after i'd tripped and got squashed by a flowerpot? i got scooped up, dusted off, and set back down on the ground like nothing happened. can't remember what he said to me but it was probably something something are you okay or something. not quite like that, that's not the brubot fashion but yeah. he left again when i was sure i was alright, gave me his number, and i just kind of held onto it for a couple months? i didn't do anything with it, i just focused on my tasks for the most part before getting to the kudos board for mezzos melodyland and really just kinda went "huh. i forgot i had this." to the number? called it on the phone later that night and nobody picked up. but i think that was because he was performing, i later got a whisper from pancake about it asking if i called hymn. and uh, yeah. i got teased for a while about having his number and all that but we became really close friends. i'd go and visit him out of the blue during the day since his shows were at night. we just did a bunch of useless shit together a lot of the times, it was really fun... kind of domestic. i miss hymn, he's goofy as hell.

misty monsoon; i don't remember a whole ton about misty but i do remember us not liking each other at all for a period of time. uh, we sat down eventually and just started talking on the docks together. talked about exes, life goals, what we want to see out of the world... kind of just deep conversations. i asked her about mary since they were together and she told me about how their relationship is. i got advice from her about some other things and got told to never change who i am for anyone else. people'll love me if they see past all my dumb shit anyways and stick by my side if they really do care.

graham & flint bonpyre; the two of them were married in the clash mems i have, they're very very closeknit with each other. i used to steal stuff from graham's place in spite for like, the LONGEST time. pancake and flint both had to keep convincing me to bring things back myself and apologize in person, but then graham would go and taunt me about it. so, we kind of had this on/off frenemy situation going on. shakes my fist, clash graham you're a bitch!!!!!! as for flint he was generally really nice to me, he and pancake were in a qpr with each other so i saw flint more than graham. we'd chat with each other from time to time but otherwise i really didn't run around or into him too often. i'd stop and say hi if i saw him on the street over time because of pancake.

cathal bravecog; barely remember cathal but he was cool, we'd hangout pretty often just to play video games or just watch tv. i had a tendency to just pass out on his floor or the desk when we were in the middle of watching a movie or something on the longer side of things for time frame things. shrugs, would have to say? pretty cool guy tbh.

and now... onto the general gist of my district managers. i'm not typing out individual things like i did for clash memories because my head's starting to hurt trying to force myself to remember this stuff, but: like i said in the one post before about them all being their own brands of insane? yeah. that's really not far off. so far the only one i've really typed up anything for is graham because i was in and out of lullaby lane a lot since it connected to mezzos melody land.

graham, holly, prester, etc. were all programmed to be more of promotional kinds of bots. like, living... walking talking advertisements for human corporations or the idea of human corporations abroad. graham was more humanoid compared to the rest of the managers because he was meant to be like, a physical model or representation of humans to the toons since humans didn't frequent in toontown enough for everyone to be aware of them.

i don't remember exactly what all corporations they were promoting but it was probably a mix of a bunch of bullshit. i think a majority of my memories were just being involved in maybe one or two of their personal lives (chip and flint through pancake) and anyone else i hardly knew outside of running into them on the off chance i was out and about in their assigned playground districts.

i wanna say out of all of them i've seen mary the most? we're friends (ish) because of the one case i had that weaponized a cog with dip and was blasting toons with it in barnacle boatyard. it was contaminating the water so i had to work with a group of other people in the detective agency to figure out what the fuck to do to get this thing out of here. then mary rolls up and blasts it with a shit ton of water when it's core was exposed. so yeah, good relationship with mary at the very least. that and i wanna say dave and i were on really neutral terms in my district.

i'd swing by from time to time like clash mems but we didn't do much, it was more to just check if anything new happened related to a really long open case. uhh, i think i saw more of the managers after i stopped the detective things but they were all literally so fucking crazy at times it was a little off putting & scary.

not to mention there was a weird bug floating around for a while that transferred override codes to a couple of the other managers. chip didn't mean for that one to happen but it just did, he wasn't programmed with the override to begin with. if i remember right, he had something put in him when he was taken out in a fight maybe once. the details were really limited on that.

anything else relating to them were from things i'd heard on the offhand.

additionally for stuff with buck since i'm pretty sure people know from the past posts i've made on him that i have strong feelings towards my districts buck because, well uh... he's tried to kill me a decent few times.

People who know me, probably also know that I love the Troy-Madison dynamic. It's honestly what I loved most about ftwd the first time I watched it. It's why I fell in love with Madison (my love for Troy, honestly, came later haha)

And yes it's the manipulation packed into a mentorship that really does it for me. Also the parallels between Troy and Madison regarding their childhood (though they dealt so differently with it, very good point!) And I think you are right that this difference kinda hinges on Troy not having had anyone growing up that was on his side, whereas Madison had her mother. Troy is still trying to gain the approval of his family… whereas Madison probably stopped doing that with her father).

Also yes, I do think Madison had at least compassion for Troy (re:wanting to help him). She saw something of herself in him, and yes, maybe under different circumstances she would've wanted to help him. Maybe she even wanted to help him in the show - but never at the expense of her own family. That's where she drew the line (another reason I love her).

I do see her choices not to kill him a bit differently though. I think she was afraid of Troy, afraid of not being able to control him and then also afraid of what he would do. And I think that's why she was so drawn to him - not bc she's into some kind of fear kink haha but because she wanted that power to be used against her enemies (whoever that may be). That's why she chose to manipulate him (ok at first it was just to get out of that situation they were in at the military compound. but she kept at it bc she saw if she could use that to make herself and her family safe, well. she would). Which ties nicely into your point about them both being protective. YES absolutely. That Madison is protective (how she goes about that is a whole different thing… not the best at respecting her kids in their own right…) is pretty clear I think. Her main motivator, after all, is the safety of her family. And yes, absolutely right Troy does everything he thinks is needed to protect the ranch, it's his purpose, he says so himself. And I agree he would die for it (wants to, I'd even posit).

Oh, also the crybaby comment and the chip off the old block: this one has me going back and forth hahaha. Because, as we've seen, Troy was a crybaby as a kid, moreso than Jake I think (from what little we saw and what little jeremiah said about kid!troy it seemed he was a 'difficult' child (which i take to mean he had strong emotional reactions to things and also couldn't quite regulate his emotions as well. hence, crybaby). But yes, if we look at them now Jake fits the crybaby more, especially from jeremiah's pov (probably thinks the fact that jake wants to negotiate etc makes him a crybaby). And Troy absolutely has the same violence in him his father has. Or possibly even more. I think Jeremiah wanted to put this in him when he was little (maybe bc he was such a crybaby) and now he possibly regrets it? But no, that would require him to reflect his actions and I'm not sure he has that in him...). I don't have anything conclusive to say haha just something that had been on my mind.

ALSO the part about Troy doing better than his father (I assume you mean because he wanted to fight for the ranch whereas jeremiah was ready to let them all die (see also: the water issue jeremiah kept hidden), is a very interesting thing that's happening. I mean I never quite understood those decisions of the old man. Like, what did he think would happen?! Did he figure they'd die anyway, if not by Walker's people than by the water shortage so fuck it? I mean maybe that also explains why he let people go. He was too cowardly to say his grand plan had failed (they were NOT going to be a self-sustaining community) but he thought if people would save themselves he'd let them? Again, nothing conclusive, just ramblings haha

Absolutely I would love more Madison-Troy in which they interact emotionally (like a pure physical fight where Troy is the big bad would bore me immensely. but them having it out or them even trying to forge something new, god yes. I'm also always a sucker for Troy kinda emancipating himself from Madison's hold on him, which would put them on more equal footing. And the relationship then would be quite something to watch, I imagine!)

IT'S RAMBLE TIME!

I decided to re-watcH FTWD S 3E8 and here are my thoughts:

The chemistry between Madison and Troy is making more and more sense. I was always on the cusp of if that relationship was seeming to be motherly or romantically (I don't like the latter to get that cleared up) but I spoke to someone recently who brought up that it's more of a mentor ship. And now that just solidifies that even more!

I somehow forgot about the scene where Madison is basically laying out what she dealt with and what she had to do in her early life with her father and her mother being who they were and what her father was... which ties in so well with what Troy had to deal with and survive growing up.

In my own eyes, I still think that Troy had it a bit worse, his parents weren't a spectacle in the community and had the community known what was going on with Madison's father growing up, I feel like something would have been done. Whereas, when it came to Troy's up bringing and Troy's father and mother... no one would have spoken out to save him. 

When Madison learned of how Troy had to grow up with his mother hating him and the just mental abuse that that brought on plus also his father constantly being a drunk and abusive in his own ways, she was able to empathize with that. She knew that she made it out of that situation and wanted to help him do the same.

I still think she was also secretly knowing that she was mentally manipulating Troy. I would like to also clear that up.

But in a sense, she was trying to help him get past his past and learn to make use of what he was dealt with.  maybe she even saw a lot of herself in him and that's why she didn't kill him.. until she "did".  But she was given many opportunities to, and chose to stay calm knowing that he wouldn't do it and she didn't fight him otherwise he possibly would have.

 Madison put down her own father for what he did to her mother constantly. She took that matter into her own hands and fixed the problem herself.  and said she would do it again! But then you have Troy on the other hand who did not do that and probably would not have ever done that. And that shows the difference between the two of them and their cases of dealing with trauma.

With that said, both are protective as hell!

Madison did what it took and did what she needed to do to protect her mother. And has done the same thing to protect her children and anyone she loved. She would play dirty, put down whoever needs put down, or die for those that she loves.

Troy does what he sees is needed to protect that farm. Even more, the people that are a part of that farm. He would do anything to protect any of those people which included everything he's done plus also knowing and fully being OK with dying for any of them.  he has always been ready to do what ever is gruesome he needed to protect all of the people he cares about and loves. 

And when Jeremiah said "to hell with them" speaking of his own children and saving them and everyone there at the ranch, he spoke about one being a crybaby (I'm saying that one's Jake) and the other being "a chip off the old block" (which I am thinking is meant to be Troy)... meeting Jeremiah knows exactly what he did to his son. He does seem to have a little bit of remorse, he did thank Madison for helping out Troy, but in someway he almost seems proud that he created a son to be just like him. But Troy ended up doing better than his father. yes, he did some not great things... but that's also some thing he would have been taught. That death is better than handing over the ranch. (I don't know why I felt like this need to be a part of this post, but it should be)

I wish we had more time of seeing Madison and Troy have it out and either an angry conversation or a very emotional, connected conversation where both could just let everything out. Show that neither of them are the villains or the big bad guys that everyone else tries to see them as. ( Madison, not so much the big bad guy that everyone sees because she had most of what she has done from anyone, but Troy has definitely not hit anything which to me is more loveable)

There is so much more to be said and to converse about so if anyone has gotten to this point in the post and would like to chat and go on about this subject or any subject, please don't let me feel alone in this!

I'm actually not sure what Levi would find appealing here? I think he'd actually fucking hate going outside even more than he does in the Devildom because it is so crowded everywhere... Apparently Manila's one of the most densely populated places in the world and honest to goodness, when you're there it really shows.

It's hot, depending on where you are it's also very humid, it's usually really noisy, even crossing the road is typically some form of nightmare as no one respects crosswalks (both the pedestrians and drivers >.>)

If he gets into human world idols (specifically kpop, the hallyu wave is strong here) he'll find his people though. The local brands are all currently using Stray Kidz, NCT, Twice, etc etc to promote their stuff. Kpop concerts here are pretty fire, but he'll probably get a bit of culture shock if he's used to Korean and Japanese concert culture

Anime is also a pretty big deal here! But it's not quite on the radar for much exciting stuff to happen compared to kpop.

As far as I can tell, there isn't really a library culture? And cafe culture is odd depending on where you are. In some places it's basically a sit-down restaurant with a huge coffee selection, and in others it's like the one you'd expect. Animal cafes are very rare.

The one to suggest they all go hiking sometimes the most, or just go on trips to somewhere that isn't the city, which surprises everyone. Do you have any majima relationship headcanons or dadjima headcanons that you've never shared with us before? We always send our requests to you, but what about situations you think about with majima/dadjima and how you'd think he'd be in them?

Mmm had to sit on this one for quite a while to gather my thoughts. I tend to also insert a lot of little personal headcanons in my requests, but under the cut are some I haven’t talked about yet! 👀

I’ll start off mildly spicy by saying that Majima probably sleeps naked or almost naked most nights. Well, most nights where he actually manages to get some sleep. He’s usually exhausted enough to want to crash as soon as possible, so after he strips, he really can’t be bothered with pyjamas or house clothes. I’m doubtful he even owns any, since he anyway spends almost no time in his apartment... 

But, because Majima’s so fond of being nude, once he gets a partner, cuddles feel all the more intimate. He can mould his entire body around them, using the warmth of full skin contact as a means of falling sound asleep 💙 During the night though, expect him to gravitate towards his “natural” sleeping position: the T-pose. Best for snoring as well.

For his mourning routine, there’s nothing like that first cigarette of the day. Paired with coffee only if his partner is awake before him and can tempt him with a cup. Otherwise he’s got a stash of energy drinks at the office that’ll keep him going throughout most of the day.

When it comes to food, Majima doesn’t strike me as a picky eater. He maybe has one or two ingredients he doesn’t care for, but if they’re tossed inside a warm, generally tasty dish, he won’t complain. In fact, he’s actually more than a little moved every time someone cooks for him. Just knowing that they care, that they’re willing to share their home, their food and a fundamental human bonding moment - meal time - with a man most people would never consider having over for dinner... it chips off a bit of that hardened shell he’s made around the marshmallow he calls a heart. 

Add this to Majima’s natural curious streak and I think he’d be the kind of boyfriend and husband who always enthusiastically praises his partner’s cooking and, if let’s say they’re from a non-Japanese background, encourages them to show him also some traditional dishes from their culture. Though don’t rely on him too much when it comes to helping with the preparation. He can follow instructions, sure, but he gets too easily distracted and tends to be a serial snacker. If there are edible things lying around waiting to be thrown in the pot... he’ll sneakily “sample” them when his partner’s not looking.

One change that occurs in his preferences once he enters a stable relationship is that he goes from being a strict shower-only guy to the more typical “nightly soak in the tub” kinda ojisan. As far as I understand it’s pretty common among Japanese to bathe every evening, just stewing away all the day’s worries. And I think for Majima this would be even more cathartic with a partner. 

His bathtub is a spacious, top-of-the-line appliance that only existed to gather dust before he realized the potential of underwater cuddles. It takes him a while to discover all its nifty functions (because... ojisan) but once he does, bath time becomes almost a ritual. Now, you’re technically supposed to wash outside the tub, but if it’s just the two of them... he gets to run his hands all over his beloved’s body and get pampered in return, with soapy scrubs and a nice scalp massage while they wash his hair. And maybe a pair of foam boobs while they’re at it.

Ok, onto the Dadjima ones 💖

We all know Majima has a soft spot for little girls so of course if he had a daughter it would be his ultimate dream come true. He’d treat her not just like a princess, but a queen! 👑 Right but maybe... that’s precisely the point where he’d run into issues, when his daughter turns out to be quite the tomboy. He wants to be the best dad he can be of course, but like most people of his generation, he’s still shaped by society’s gender roles. His “Kodak moment” daydreams probably go a bit like this: with a son he’d play Godzilla to his lego city and arm wrestle him at least once a year to gauge how strong he’s grown... and with daughter he’d put together a whole wardrobe of cute dresses and bring Goromi out to attend her plushie tea parties.

He means well, but there’s inevitably going to be a moment where he realizes that his fantasies do not overlap with reality. His daughter’s much more drawn to the toys that aren’t all “girly girl”, same for her outfits and play activities... This undoubtedly would disappoint Majima at first, but it would also give him a valuable opportunity to reflect on why he feels disappointed. Reanalyze his biases and maybe conclude that a guy like him whose whole life has been about rebelling from what’s seen as “normal” has no business forcing his own kids into the boxes he considers normal.

But here’s a thought that just occurred to me: if his daughter was into princesses and especially drawing them... what if every single princess she draws sports very elaborate, very large tattoos? Listen, princesses are pretty. Daddy has tattoos. Goromi is the prettiest princess she knows so... Connect the dots 😌 Teachers who happen to see these drawings would have a bit of a shock though, as it dawns on them that the tattoo isn’t just flowers, it’s also snakes... and demon ladies!

This is a sweet image I sometimes think about: Majima taking his kids to festivals. The munchkins looking cute in their little yukatas, pleading with dad for a bite of every single enticing festival food (taiyaki in particular being a big fave) and of course trying their skills at the various games. And although festivals usually bring out Majima’s competitive side, it seems he’s “inexplicably” losing to his young opponents every single time... 🤔

Saejima would probably tag along to these events too. He’s there to keep an extra eye on the kids as they could easily get lost in the crowd, but for his troubles is rewarded with the role of... bag and coat carrier. He gets his revenge at some point though, when Majima’s kids bluntly declare they like hanging out at the Saejima family office a lot more than at dad’s. The reason is simple: kitties. Lots and lots of kitties.

Back to Majima though 👀 Why does a guy who doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth always order himself a dessert when going out for family meals? It couldn’t be that a good 2/3rds of that dessert always ends up surrendered to a very eager kid... Sugar isn’t the best thing to get them hooked on, but Majima considers it compensation for all the days he makes a mental note to bring back ice cream before coming home, but... forgets, because that’s just how he is.

And finally, a scenario for when Majima’s kid gets older.

What if one day he comes home a little early and stumbles upon his daughter, already in her late teens, sneaking a cigarette out on the balcony? Yeah it’s a good hiding place, but the outside noise means she also can’t hear her dad coming in... However Majima is less concerned with how he’s technically just caught her doing something “bad” and more struck by her image: long, silky black hair swept into a ponytail, looking at the city below, through the haze of bluish smoke. It’s like an old snapshot, like he's somehow looking at himself from all those years ago. Except, unlike the Lord of the Night was at the time... she's free.

The comparison to his younger self is even more poignant when he joins her and lights his own smoke, much to her surprise and panic. But as it becomes clear he’s not there to scold her, the moment is one of silent, tender closeness. Majima might note with a chuckle that, just like him when he was a little yakuza runt, she doesn’t seem to enjoy the nicotine taste much. 

Because really I think teen Maji was bursting into coughing fits after every single drag if no one he particularly cared about impressing was looking. Only once he got out of the Hole and was thrust into the high stress environment at the Grand did he get properly addicted, using cigs as both stress-relievers and meal replacements...

In the end, Majima’s not going to forbid it or punish her. All he hopes is that her life ends up filled with distractions much more pleasant than smoking, so she never has to follow in his footsteps 💙
