hey is snw 1x9 not literally just the plot of aliens (1986). like ive actually only seen the first one but from what i know of the sequel im pretty sure this is just aliens (1986).
#like i have no problem with star trek retreading horror movie grounds when there's a reason for it#ds9's the adversary has a lot of parallels to the thing down to the blood test scene#but there was a reason for that it was drawing on a specific fear that made a lot of sense for where the series was at#it made sense for the show to be exploring themes of paranoia and trust#and is made meaningful by how important trust is to the crew by that point#even though they'd all originally come from very different situations and had struggled to work efficiently together at firsdt#first#im not sure what the point of this other than like. la'an development and 'man this would sure be scary wouldn't it'#alien does fear of the invasion of the body well because it was never about anything else#snw liveblog
