"Which is why I was all, nah girl, you don't tell me when I can or can not print and-" she paused in between her story to stare at the man in front of her in...shock? No, disgust? No, it was amusing- actually, it was straight up out of the box kind of nonsense he’d sometimes do.
"Then what did she say?" The blonde looked up from his plate as if nothing had happened, blinking at her like she was the clown for stopping her story mid way. To think she had spent hours making this meal for the two of them to enjoy and he would just push the greens aside like that- a grown man?
“You gonna eat those?” she snapped back, pointing at the greens on the corner of his plate with her fork, “They’re cooked you know?”
“Oh…uh…” he stared at the broccoli and then up at her, clearing his throat he shook his head, “The thing is…I don’t…I’m not a big fan of broccoli, though I do eat other vegetables now.”
“Now?”
“Yeah, it’s been around 3 years.”
“Mingi, you're 25 years old.”
“I know, I started when I was 22, Yunho said I should start small.”
She took a deep breath and turned in her chair to look at the man who was sitting there frozen with an uncomfortable smile, staring at the rerun of a show on his PC, knowing this was one of those nights again- word of advice never introduce your best friends from different friend groups, and never ever in a million years let them get together.
“You said start small?”
“I don’t wanna be a part of this,” turning to look at the couple sitting at the small table- why the hell were these two having dinner in his room anyway? Mingi wasn’t even living in this dorm.
“You don’t wanna be a part of this but you expect me to cook for you too?” she snapped back, slamming her fork on the table, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against the chair, then looking at her boyfriend, “And you, eat your damn vegetables, don’t listen to him, he’s an idiot.”
“I do eat them!!” he countered back, staring at her all doe eyed, “Why are you so upset, your plate doesn’t even have broccoli!”
“That’s because she hates broccoli.” Yunho mumbled, instantly regretting it when he heard Mingi gasp, “He knows this but not me!?” the taller, but dumber, man pouted at his girlfriend, frowning at the face she made, hitting him with the, “Just like how he knew you started eating vegetables are 22.”
“Guys, why are you two even arguing at this point?” Yunho sighed, finally turning around in his gaming chair, his eyebrow twitching at the state of his room. Mingi’s jacket was on Yunho’s unmade bed, her purse was tossed onto the other end of the bed, and the thousand-piece puzzle the couple had been busy with an hour ago lay half unfinished on the floor, not to mention the scattered pieces around it. The man looked at the couple staring off before eying the third plate heaped with food, “You really made food for me?”
“You did shamelessly ask for it.” she mumbled before reaching over and picking up the piece of green vegetable from her boyfriend’s plate, dumping it on Yunho’s.
“You shouldn’t ask her to cook for you if you aren’t gonna eat it.” Mingi turned to glance at his best friend before reaching over and opening Yunho’s unopened can of soda and pouring it in a glass for her, “it’s rude.”
“Yes, my apologies, I’m the rude one in this friend group.”
“Kinda seems like it.” She mumbled poking around her plate, only to stop when she felt a warmer hand on hers, glancing up at his warm, brown eyes, “You don't like broccoli?”
“I'm allergic to it.” Clarifying she leaned closer, pulling his plate closer to her to pick out the broccoli pieces, “Which vegetables do you eat ?” She asked, ignoring Yunho who was now making his bed again.
“Hmmm…potatoes and peas…sometimes carrots.”
“...The three most basic ass- Dude!?” Pulling back she let out an exasperated sigh, earning a snort from her boyfriend who just shrugged, “I'm a man, meat is what I need.”
Her brows touched the roof at that statement, lips pursing into a weird smirk, the words at the tip of her tongue, about to slip off but the third party slammed his hands on the table and pulled the table closer to his bed, the rattling of the cutlery had the two panicking, trying to hold onto the things.
“YUNHO!” The yelled in unison earning a snort from the man.
“What? It's my room? I can do whatever I want.” He stated as a matter of fact picking up Mingi's fork and frowning at his plate that was now heaped with unwanted broccoli- god, these two. Pushing them aside he reached over and took her class that was filled with HIS soda.
“I'm just saying, you should tell me this stuff, not him.” Mingi sighed, running his fingers through his hair as he noticed how she was on her phone now, typing away. He had wanted to spend tonight with her, but Wednesday was bros night, him and Yunho- though for a while she'd been part of this Wednesday routine. It was during one of those boring, mundane Wednesdays he had somehow come to the conclusion that with her nothing was mundane. That's why he had approached Yunho, asking him if it was a good idea, and for some reason, Yunho instantly agreed. Maybe he wanted to get a breather away from Mingi?
Of course, Yunho said yes to this idea- hell she had been begging Yunho for tips on how to have the cute but dumb tall oaf like her back? She'd been pinning on him ever since Yunho had introduced her to him, especially since the first time they met he said the most uncanny thing about her that day, “Nice wallpaper, did you take the picture yourself?”
Yes, she had taken the picture but she liked two things about him; he's so nosy it's kinda funny- and it was nice to be noticed?- and secondly he was observant. Song Mingi was extremely observant, to his physical and emotional surroundings, even though he'd pretend not to notice or acknowledge a lot of things about a lot of people. It was different when it was with her, she could feel it, she could feel how he'd be looking at her more often than she'd like to admit, he'd do things for her that he'd never done for Yunho, like opening a bottle or handing her a tissue before she needed it or even moving off his chair to offer it to her. That was all something she'd seen before in a few of her other useless dates, but there was something different about how he'd look at her, how his features would soften while speaking to her, his choice of words would be more thoughtful and his tone, god, his deep voice would have a subtle tenderness to it, one that had her begging Yunho to set her up with him.
Unknown to her, their mutual friend had been a victim of a similar form of nagging by Mingi, who had been literally harassing the poor man. Waking him up in the middle of the night, calling him to ask the most stupid questions out there,
“What's her favourite colour?”
“Why don't you ask her YOURSELF!?”
“Are you dumb? I can't wake her up at 3AM to ask her that.”
“Song Mingi-”
“Hurry~ I need to order the socks but I'm stuck between cement grey or her favourite colour!”
That’s why Mingi after a few weeks was caught wearing a pair of bright-coloured socks that unknown to the world (other than Yunho) around him, matched the socks of his new girlfriend.
“I'd tell you this stuff if you tell me this stuff!” She whined, placing her phone down and grabbed Yunho's glass, chugging down the remaining cherry soda.
Yunho looked up at her then made a face that a blind man could read, “TF is wrong with you?"
“I do! But I can't just randomly say, ‘Oh hey love, I actually eat quickly because I'm still used to the rush I'd feel while running to Yunho's school just to have lunch with someone and running back to my school!’ it's so random.” He sighed, reaching over to grab a tissue - the last tissue in the box, tissue he clearly saw Yunho reach out for first.
“But that's what I like about you Mingi! You're spontaneous! You're random and-”
“You're annoying.” His mumble cut off the girl who turned to glare at the man before looking at her big dumb dumb show as pouting at his plate, “Ignore him- I like how random you are sometimes, it make me feel like I cross your mind often and I like that….a lot.” Her words ended up becoming a hushed whisper, somewhat embarrassed of expressing herself so blatantly.
“You're always on my mind.” He gave her a small smile, one that made her heart leap before it turned into his usual cocky smirk, “Even on stage when I-”
“HELLO! EXCUSE ME, PLEASE DON'T FORGET I AM STILL HERE!”
“Why are you still here?” She side eyed the third wheeler who was staring at her with his eyes about to burst out of his skull.
“Excuse-”
“She's right, Yunho, we know you like us but you gotta stop third wheeling sometimes.”
The brunette blinked at the two for a moment, letting their words sink in before letting out a loud sigh.
“I can't believe he'd do that!” She exasperated, earning a chuckle from the extremely tall man behind her as the two walked towards his apartment, her voice bouncing in the empty corridor.
“Well, we did take it a bit too far.” Snickering he unlocked the door and opened it wide for her, motioning for her to enter first, only so he could admire the jacket she was wearing, his jacket, one that was big one too many sizes with her arms flailing around ad she continued. “No, no! We were his guests! You just don't throw out a guest! I cooked too!”
He followed her into his room, clutching onto her purse as he shook his head in amusement, “I think it was the soda.” Flopping down next to her on his bed he sighed, turning his head to face her, smiling at how she was already looking at him, “Hey there.”
“I think he's just jealous- or it was the mess- nah he's just jealous.” she declared, swinging an arm over his form, and hooking a leg over his waist, clinging onto him like a koala, “That I get Min-ki all to myself~”
A deep laugh bubbled through him, his chest vibrating with full force causing the bed to shake, earning a giggle from her as he gave a 100% Mingi smile, with his nose crinkling and eyes closing. In return she pressed her lips against his forehead before nuzzling her face into his shoulder, “Next time just be your random self.”
“Next time, just agree with me when I say let's have dinner at my place.”
“But then how will we annoy him, Mingi~”
“I think he'll file a restraining order at this point.”
“Not if we file one first!” she sat up, looking down at him with a smile that had his heart skipping a beat, reaching up to brush her hair out of her eyes to get a clearer view of the person who had become his reason of being.

Two sleepy heads don't make a right
Thank you everyone for the kind words on the previous post 💗
I was very motivated and happy to know that it's not shameful (I'm still a bit hesitant, but I'll keep posting these silly romance? comics)
I tend to make these comics at 3AM, so I'm kinda drunk asleep and as the great philosophers(?) say "Life imitates art that imitates life that imitates art......."
Anyway, they're just sillies
*Btw, Harvey does like Carrots! It might look like Harvey is allergic (aka hate) carrots, but the wiki says he likes it, so it's all good 👍 Peanuts just jumps to conclusions too quickly*

Okay. Holiday headcannons! (I'm not rewatching the Xmas episode these are organic)
Jonas grew up hating the large extended Venture family get togethers, so he usually celebrated by partying with friends and leaving Rusty and Hector to watch tv with Helper
Rusty grew up then having very little care for the holidays himself, but when he went to college, he really loved how beautiful and festive the campus became and he was honestly a bit enchanted.
So when he has the twins, he tries to start his own family traditions. Ranging from making cookies when they were little (Brock drinking eggnog and raw dough on a stool) to driving through the suburbs to see christmas lights and judging the displays. Brock is driving obviously, but he acquiesces to listening to Christmas rock music instead of his usual
As they get older and business continues to go down, Rusty has less oomf for decorating and making themed foods (he is futurely a Pinterest menace) and the boys don't really understand how to pitch in yet but are getting sadder so Brock jumps in and makes sure to bring in a tree and dig out Helpers antique antler headband and after a few years of Brock getting the twins more into the know how and details of all the holiday pageantry, they take to it with gusto
It only takes the twins skipping VITAL elements (teeny tiny details that Brock only included himself bc he knew how and it really didn't matter if the boys did it i.e. popcorn strings) for Rusty to get back into it and he finds a lot more enjoyment doing all of the work with his sons instead of just for them and he appreciates Brocks appreciative gaze whenever he does well with the twins
Dean and Hank did not believe in Santa but they did believe in magic reindeer that roamed the night and they sometimes throw carrots and oats out onto the lawn, which were summarily enjoyed by local wildlife
Brock himself grew up in a pretty lax household, they would go to his grandmothers on Christmas eve, wake up and open presents, have breakfast, and go home, and that was about it, everything else was just kind of free time. To my point which I'm saying is that Brock has always enjoyed his solitude and having time to himself but he grows to really really deeply love seeing Dean pull out his holiday sweater collection and hearing Doc singing carols off key and being asked by Hank if Brock "needs any help shoveling"
They'll order Chinese for dinner and watch Mystery Science Theater and when Brock is the last one awake he scoops everyone up and deposits them all in Doc's bed before throwing an extra big comforter over them all before going back down to his room by himself :,)
If Santa was still alive (he died in the 60s so Orpheus said) Dean would be on the naughty list
When Brock left for Sphinx, Hatred really tried to have some fun, but he comes with his own traditions that really didn't gel with the Ventures and it left them all incredibly frustrated. The next year went a bit better, but it was still awkward, mainly broken up by the fact that Pete and Billy came and everyone did White Elephant
Rusty has a special eggnpg recipe. Im allergic so I know nothing about eggnog, but he does, and it's nasty.
Hank got REALLY into that one viral trend where people wrapped presents to look like other objects but he did it 10 years early #fashionforward
Dean is the most PRECISE paper wrapper of all time and he will critique your creases and tape usage

the 'whole other post'
okay so january, i became close friends fairly quickly with a girl from a class we shared. by april we were going mad places, going to the movies, having sleepovers, etc.
late april i go to library where she's got some mutual friends + friends of friends, we're all helping to de-escalate a situation. there's this guy who she apparently thinks is hot, i also kind of think he's hot, but he's interested in her, not me. whatever. don't care.
so further de-escalation, we spur of the moment decide hey yeah let's all have dinner together ??????? just-bpd-moments (on her part i assume but boy i love impulses too) so yep we all have dinner and it's so obvious she likes him a lot and he likes her back but he's poking at me and like. that's flirting to me, indirectly but yeah.
uh anyways later wow he has fancy car lmao i don't care but my friend is . knowing her. immediately obsessed
which continues and then within a week and a half they're dating and i'm involved with a friend of hers and then we're not involved, but her now-boyfriend just thinks i'm a silly goose and encourages my silly goose behavior at this party. this is when he takes us all home and i accidentally blab a huge open secret i have that he still pokes at me for to this day
hm. anyways. he visits her several times over the summer (THIS IS A 4 HOUR DRIVE ONE WAY MIND YOU) and like one time after my shift ends we all get together and it's weird. the closest i can describe to it is a friendship threesome and my friend keeps bringing up how we should date. bitch you guys are dating right now. "okay well what if i was dead" and being the obsessive rule follower i am socially i flat out refuse several times and he's like "maybe like 6 months after, maybe" OKAY??? fuck anyways yeah. grrrrrrr. and they're talking and flirting and i love being a third wheel to them except for when
she
says
him and i should date.
NO.
rest of the summer elapses and they're reading my fanfiction over a voice call and i hate everything, and they're drunk and she's sending me pictures of him sleeping like ????????????
so by mid august they've broken up because 1. his mom 2. his dad 3. she needs space for her mental health. ok. valid. ok. fine. hyeah. okay. woosah.
thus begins the chronicles of him and i being close friends, or closer i guess, because somewhere between church and lunch after that he pays for (thanks for that still, buddy, if you ever read this; that was the best ramen i ever had and it was because i had it with you) we take up a tiktok streak, and we're talking about what we had for breakfast, i'm telling him my new PR for running up 6 flights of stairs, he's sending me pictures of his cats, we're eating dinner, he's telling me he's in the hospital for an allergic reaction and she's blocked him. he almost died and she wouldn't have known except through me.
Did I fall in love? Is it entirely brotherly? The poetry says the first. Not the latter. The shakes I get around him - why are those? Everything is deranging.
But I tell her that he's going to help me get halloween costume items, and she's getting jealous that we're hanging out, everything i tell her about him becomes a carrot for her to hang out at him in these long strings
Hey Res told me you said X, is that true? Wowwww okay you couldn't have said that to me first? Damn. That's crazy. Wow. Okay anyways just wanted to tell you that. also I still hate you. Bye i guess
A diagnosis is not an excuse. I don't want to tell you things that you can use as a weapon. A diagnosis is not an excuse. He's in therapy now. NOW, of all times.
Several girlfriends, he has, allegedly, but have you ever considered that they were to try and cobble together to fill the void you left in him? You had sex with him and told him it was horrible and gave no recourse, no ability to fix it. You worshiped him when you had sex with him, and now you're making it seem like he was horrible for even consenting to it.
And I can't talk to either of you for a month, but do you know who I cried about on the way home last night? It sure wasn't you.
I don't know how to feel about you or him anymore. A diagnosis is not an excuse.
addendum 1
really, from what she's said and he's said, she just wants him for his status and money. hell the fuck no. leave that man the fuck alone. he wants a genuine connection. that man wants to be loved, just like you do, except yours is threaded through with obsession and it sure as hell ain't calm. but what do i know. i'm booboo the fool.
addendum 2
think i'm js tired of the drama really. aint no drama with him. they is major drama with her. i aint with it

Hi i just ope it’s ok to ask about this, and feel free to ignore if you’re not comfortable discussing it, but I saw you mentioned baby food pouches on a post about disautomnia. I have (stupid anxiety disorders) issues with trying new foods but I think it would help me with some of my issues. would you mind kind of describing the taste and texture of the ones you like? And if you have anything you recommend re: brand, flavor, etc? Again if this isn’t something you’re comfortable talking about with a stranger I totally understand, and I hope you have a good day either way
Oh my goodness, yes, I would be perfectly fine with that. Just a disclaimer: I have autism and a lot of food allergies on top of everything else, so even my baby food options are a bit more limited than what you may want, but I will happily tell you what I can.
I do not eat any of the meat ones, just fyi. Pureed meat hits all of my squick buttons, on top of making me violently ill. BUT, the fruit and veggie ones are GOOD if you know what to get. I will say that the texture of almost all baby food pouches are some variation of apple sauce. Some are a bit 'grittier' than others, some have a more pudding-like texture, but none of the ones I eat are slimy or anything like that. It's just mostly applesauce-y. The pudding-textured ones tend to be more breakfast food-types, along with actual oatmilk pudding ones, and I use those more as a treat than anything else.
For taste...the brands I get are pretty much exactly what they say on the tin with a bit of lemon juice added to most of them for the preservation properties. (I am allergic to most commercial preservatives! 8D) I cannot recommend ANY baby food that has peas in it, because the pea-taste will overwhelm EVERYTHING else. I do not like peas, so this makes it a no-go for me, but hey, if you like peas yourself, maybe try it? Of the brands I get, I tend to get the ones that are a blend of fruit and veggies so that the slight sweetness of the fruit can help cover up some of the veggies that I don't like, it just unfortunately does NOT work with peas.
I'm VERY partial to the Happy Baby/Happy Tot brand of baby food (I think the overarching brand is called Happy Family???), the Gerber ORGANICS (not the regular, they have weird texture issues), the Holle brand, White Leaf Provisions, and Plum Organics. Holle and White Leaf Provisions are a bit more expensive, but they're nice to have as a treat. Also, if you have a Kroger, their in-house brand, called Comforts, is surprisingly good. The banana/blackberry and the pear/green bean ones are REALLY good. This is literally the only way I will eat green beans because I HATE THEM. The apple cinnamon oatmeal one of the Comforts brand is a good one for breakfast, if you're not super allergic to apples.
I don't know how you feel about spinach, but if you need some brain-fog help, the Happy Baby brain blends with banana, spinach, passion fruit, and oats is VERY good. The banana lends a smoother texture and the passion fruit takes up most of the taste. I have found that they actually DO help my brain fog for a bit, since I can no longer find the Brainiacs brand. (If you can find those, I HIGHLY recommend the fruit and veggie blend applesauce pouches of those, they're so good and such a good way to get your vegetables AND help keep you clear-headed.)
Otherwise, things like the Happy Family "Love My Veggies" with squash and banana and pumpkin is good, ANY of the "Super Morning" ones are good, the "Fiber & Protein ones with squash and cinnamon are good, as well as my favourite, the Fiber & Protein Pear, Raspberry, Butternut Squash, and Carrot one, and ALL of the "Super Bellies" types are good, though my favourite is the Banana, Carrot, and Strawberry one. Oh, also, just the plain Happy Baby Pear, Squash, and Blackberry one is amazing. And for a treat, if you want something that tastes exactly like Christmas, see if you can find the Banana, Plum, and Granola one. I can't explain why it tastes exactly like Christmas, but it does. I use that one when I am having a day where nothing tastes right or even remotely close to good and getting myself to eat at all is a chore. Because at least then I will have a bit of something in my stomach and it is a comfort-taste. Gerber Organics makes some good ones too. Their "For Toddler" line is usually the ones I go for, in the "Plant-Tastic varieties. The "Banana Berry Veggie Smash" one is quite good, as is the "Summer Fruit and Veggie Smash". I can't quite recommend the Fiesta Blend one universally, because it has a bit of an aquired taste, but if you want to try it, I recommend getting just one and making sure you eat it cold, it tastes much better that way.
I have no specific recommendations for the Holle and White Leaf Provisions ones, because I like all of them. I do recommend going in cautiously with the White Leaf Provisions one that has beets in it, as I know beets are a bit of an aquired taste. I had to aquire the taste with the help of my roommate actually managing to make beet food in a way that did not set off my texture and taste aversions, so maybe steer clear of that particular one until you're feeling more adventurous?
As for the Plum Organics, the "Mighty 4" line and the "Fruit and Veggie Blends" line are ALL good. Also the Protein and Fiber one that has white beans and strawberries in it, because the texture is amazing on top of the taste. Don't be afraid of the ones that have kale or spinach in them either, the taste is not strong. It just tastes fresh, not slimy-cooked, and this goes for all the baby foods I recommend.
Oh! And Peter Rabbit Organics (another sadly expensive one) has some good ones too! The Banana, Mango, Broccoli and Kale one is very good cold, and if you just want a bit of a sweet snack, the Banana, Raspberry, and Blueberry one is a good one to treat yourself with after trying something new.
Also, just as a little treat to expand your horizons a bit: try the Gerber Strawberry Rhubarb pudding cup...things. They're not the jars, they're the little plastic square things that come in two packs. If you've never tried rhubarb before, this is a good way to start and it tastes good warm or cold, so you can even pour one of these over vanilla ice cream for a topper and it's quite good.
I'm sorry for giving you a text wall like this, but if I can help at all, I would love to be able to. Good luck with your food journey, and hey, maybe let me know if you try any of these and like them? I'd love to know if it helps you with some food aversions!

10 things about me 🍰
Tagged by @greypetrel @shivunin @idolsgf and @demandthedoodles  thanks guys for the free therapy session! ;u;
1 - Sometimes I feel like I don't have a personality, just coping mechanisms and a whole lot of reactions caused by anxiety, which is one of the reasons why I started therapy. Apparently I need to just sit down and ask myself "what do you need now / in general?" and it's helping me finding out who is the person I'm wearing << she's kind of an idiot but I'm starting to like her the more I connect to her.
2 - Huge cat person. They're the most communicative beings on earth, they have social cues and a plethora of personalities. Did you know they evolved to mimick the cry of human babies to attract our attention? They have a special "meow", basically. When they do that, we immediately turn our attention to them because our preservation instincts kick in and we're forced to respond. I just love cats so much omg 💛
3 - I can't remember shit, really. It's either a problem or a funny thing because my memory is very selective for no reason lol I know that you hate peas but I can't remember if you needed a lift to the airport or a pack of crackers when we talked yesterday. But when something negative happens... ooohboi! I'll somatize that for years and would remember every single detail, even the color of the sky in that specific moment.
4 - Never tell me that The Divine Comedy is a fanfiction. That's a major turn off. It's one of those things I take very seriously, tbh <<
5 - I don't vibe with horses lol I befriended a horsie called Carrot when I was 7 and horse riding was one of my favorite things ever, until the guy made me fly to the ground because something scared him :' I don't really blame him, but it was a painful experience - hopefully for me only. I tried to connect with other horsies later on but it never worked out.
6 - I horribly love chocolate based desserts. Big faves are sachertorte (of course lol), tiramisù, millefoglie (it's a layered cake with custard/chocolate ganache and puff pastry), and everything that comes with chocolate ganache. Carnival fritters give me so much joy too! Last time I had those I almost wept because they were so good lmao
7 - I really enjoy weird Medieval guys, the miniature style critters you could find on tomes. I'm fairly obsessed with them because they're so stylistically elegant but so dumb to look at 💛 A new addiction I found out I have is looking for creepy looking baby jesuses on Medieval and Renaissance paintings whenever I visit an exposition.
I mean... Doesn't he make you laugh? He's glorious!! A Unit™
Also HIM! The lovechild of Billy Crystal and Tim Curry 💛 yes I have more, yes I will post my collection somewhere <<
8 - I never had bubble tea, but I will - once I gather enough confidence to try this cute Japanese bar that opened around here << they have like 50 different options and options make me feel like I'm in front of an audience ready to hit me with rotten fruits. Hopefully it's worth it? Lol
9 - My body refuses liquorice. I thought I was allergic but you can't be allergic to liquorice apparently. But like, hear me out, whenever I ate it, I got the most horrific allergic reactions, no kidding! Even its smell, or a smell close to that makes me wanna run as distant as I can because my skin reacts to it o-o
10 - I did write more than 5 long fics (not counting one shots) in a span of 10 years, which they say it's impressive, considering the amount of chapters and the multiple revisions I always do. I tend to be overly critical when it comes to my writings, so I tend to avoid rereading what I do, except for my second mass effect fic about the Lazarus project, "In A Moment", which I'm very proud of. It's a "what if Shepard asked herself how she came back and if she really came back before the events of me3? And what would her reaction be if she found out reapers' tech was involved in her comeback?" kind of fic. Spoiler: she didn't take it well. I couldn't find anything like that in the mass effect section of the site I publish my stuff in, so I wrote it myself lol it's in my native language tho .-. Hopefully one day I'll find an editor and a translator to cover in money
-
No I'm not dense, it's just an impression << whoops! Sorry!
And since even my grandma got tagged in this, I'm tagging automatically whoever feels like doing it lol
#long post#10 things about me#tag meme#not dragon age#when things get too personal talk about cakes! and silly looking baby jesuseses

Literally I'll look at condiments and when I see "no added msg" uncle Rogers appears in my brain waxing poetry about msg and I put it down and grab the, often cheaper and more delicious, msg one. Also it's naturally occurring in a lot of foods they just isolated it chemically and synthesized it to enhance flavor, if your tomato products are "msg free" they're either lying through their teeth or have undergone intense chemical processes to remove the msg, and I'm not one to bash chemical processing everything is chemicals and using more refined and precise chemical processes is never a bad thing but if you care about chemicals in your food you should care more about msg free ketchup than added msg.
I'm dead dog serious when I say this, I just don't have the energy to cite my sources, flavor enhancers like msg are a way for poor people to eat well, because the amount of seasoning, vegetables, preparation processes and energy used to produce the same flavor without synthesized enhancers costs a fuck ton more. Anti-msg marketing is just capitalism and pissing on the poor.
If you live in a food dessert and you have access to potatoes, onions, carrots, beef and the most basic herbs and spices like I'm taking salt, pepper, parsley, maybe cinnamon nutmeg and cloves, you will not be able to produce restaurant quality bolognaise. If, however, you have access to msg, which a lot of places do the cheap stuff enhanced with it and other flavor enhancers are often all a place has, you can still get that restaurant flavor and actually enjoy your food.
And like sure the study that went viral a while back specifically looked at iron intake in Thai and Swiss iirc people when eating their own and then each other's cultural food, so it doesn't really prove that you absorb more nutrients overall when you eat food you enjoy, but it does make some sort of sense that you will absorb more nutrients if you enjoy your food, even if it's just because you can eat more of it because it doesn't taste like shit.
Msg isn't even bad for you, except for people who have a sensitivity which is literally exactly the same as being allergic or sensitive to any other food, and adverse effects on health is in question scientifically and also typically only observed in people with sensitivities, or who consume like way too much like think 3 table spoons of the stuff in a single meal too much... Which is true of any food item, organic or not. If you eat 600g of unseasoned organic broccoli in one sitting you're gonna get the shits. It's still a vital source of sodium, potassium, a fuck ton of vitamin c, some iron, b6, magnesium and calcium.
The msg hate is giving "if you can't pronounce the ingredients in your food you shouldn't eat it" which, okay, if I put the chemical name for everything in an organic pesticide free apple on a piece of paper and asked you if you'd eat it you would say no, because you can't pronounce the chemicals. It's giving moms panicking because they dragged magnets around their kid's cereal and iron popped up, when it's literally just elemental iron in a way your kid can digest it so they can get more iron which is vital for them to be able to MAKE BLOOD.
Like I've been combating nutrition and food misinformation for so long you can literally give me any artificial additive and I can be like "not bad for you unless", but I can also do the same for organic ingredients. Because there's no real difference. They're both chemicals prepared in different ways. No matter how an ingredient was made, by the dirt or by a lab tech, if you don't have a sensitivity to it due to a PREVIOUSLY EXISTING HEALTH CONDITION you will be perfectly fine consuming it as long as you do it in moderation. Again, it counts for both organic and artificial ingredients.
Sure you should avoid consuming too many artificial flavors and ultra processed food... Because it's less nutritious and you often have to consume more of it to feel sated, pushing your intake of certain things up and leading to health issues. If you eat only organic pesticide free potatoes baked with grass fed hormone free unpasteurized butter and nothing else, you'll get tuberculosis and also gain a lot of weight because potatoes are mostly sugar. It's not about what goes into it, it's about maintaining a nutritional balance. Froot loops are fortified with more nutrients than a plain bowl of oatmeal. And they taste good. And they're more accessible. Stop the processed food hate it's getting tired.
"no added msg" to be honest it could use some msg
