Still thinking about the scene w q wilbur, baghera, philza, and slime at eggxile.

He cant talk because he has juanaflippa back?

What about the months he spent alone constantly being mocked by those around him?

The months he spent just taking it, not once complaining or talking back, just accepting it, bc he blamed himself for everything anyway.

And he spent months believing that juanaflippa would be back, and tried to get her and tilín back, LEFT to try get tilín back, only to learn that his leaving may have been the reason juanaflippa died.

And yet hes made into a joke, never treated seriously by those around him.

Then everyone elses eggs are gone, and juanaflippa is back.

He hasnt even done anything.

Yet he says, what a few things potentially out of line, but not at all malicious, asking how they know the eggs will come back, what proof they have of them being alive (bc its not like he knows that any of the eggs have left messages), and suddenly the tune changes.

He cant talk that because he has juanaflippa, hes out of line, he has his egg back.

So which is it?

He cant help with egg stuff bc hes a “misclicker” and he doesnt have an egg anymore (as if he was the only one when he wasnt) but then he cant ask about the eggs missing bc he has juanaflippa back, as the months of being mocked about her death meant nothing.

Hypocrisy gets no one anywhere, so maybe they should all pick a narrative and stick to it.

Hes been mocked for MONTHS even when he wanted to help the others with stuff, but the second he asks “how do you know theyll come back” HE DOESNT GET TO ASK BC JUANAFLIPPA IS BACK? I have watched the vod. I am losing my MIND about q!sandduo.

On one side you have q!Phil, who has been taking care of these eggs by himself for months. Who loves them very dearly. Who completely loses it when they go missing to the point of leaving all his items and running of into the woods without telling anyway for the chance to get them back. Like this man tried so hard he got stuck in a birdhouse for a week and he’s still not sure if it was actually real or not. He’s chasing every lead including the mission in the maze. And then Wilbur has the gall to imply he’s not trying hard enough and he’s to happy when the eggs are gone while on a mission to try and gather intell.

Then on the other side you have q!Wilbur, who just got here after being on tour for months. Who wrote consistent letters to his daughter for as long as he could, but couldn’t be there for here in person. And from the moment he gets there he’s overwhelmed, because there’s constant people and things requiring his attention when he just wants to see his daughter. And nobody’s catching him up on anything because no one wants to be the person to tell him his daughter is gone (and so are all the other kids). Maybe none of them think it’s there place. So when he finally gets told, he’s upset. Because he doesn’t know what’s going on, hasn’t for at least an hour, and he’s only being told his daughter is gone now? In his mind it’s more important. And they are just running around in a maze and he doesn’t get why because it’s not been explained to him. He’s so incredibly out of the loop and frustrated that he lashes out at Phil for telling him the news.

Like it’s a miscommunication plot, but it’s so well done because you can understand where both characters are coming from. Because we know what Phil’s been through, but Wilbur doesn’t. He’s missing so much information. So to then have him walk around and see all the things he’s missed, to see that he missed Tallulah’s birthday, helps him understand that maybe he did miss a lot and maybe he was wrong. I’m paraphrasing but “maybe Phil wasn’t angry that I was gone, maybe he’s angry that I left in the first place”.

Not to mention the “I wasn’t:the first to look for her but damn if I’m not gonna try” or something like that. Because he’s starting out easy. He’s starting out with the same thing he did last time he lost her, but how much further will he go when that doesn’t work? Not to mention the Lovejoy funding the island + wanting to talk to the federation thing! Like there’s a couple directions that could go and all of them are interesting.

Anyway, sorry that I just started analysing QSMP in your inbox, but I had thoughts about q!Sandduo and I know you do too.

YESSS EXACTLY!! you can understand where both of them are coming from. phil has been tormenting himself for the past month trying to find his kids. wilbur just showed up, no one told him his daughter was missing for his entire first hour there, and everyone is laughing running around a maze while he's barely being given an explanation of what's going on. of course he thinks no one's taking it seriously.

it's a very well done miscommunication plot. I liked how they pulled it off and I think it worked out very well to give wilbur a chance to get away from the chaos and investigate what's gone on in his absence himself

I really think q!wilbur is primed for a federation plot. lovejoy (apparently) canonically works with the federation already, so they already like wilbur and will likely give him similar favoritism that they give jaiden. considering how disorganized and chaotic the players were yesterday, I can see wilbur thinking he's more likely to find his daughter by working with the federation, while being unaware of the darker things the federation has done in his absence. obviously things might go completely a different way and he could get roped into the resistance stuff through phil, but I think wilbur is in a position right now where the federation is 100% going to look like the best option. and if so, imagine the q!sandduo interactions we could get out of THAT

This stream was tying up loose ends before Season 4, and while I have beef with the stream and the characterisation, I also do have a bit of beef over the fact that we've not seen anything on the burger rivalry in a bit, if you mind the wordplay.

August 4th was the last time we really had word on how tnt duo was doing, and if there was a time to tell us what's going on, it would be the stream that was tying up loose ends and setting up for future plot! It feels like a missed opportunity, it really does, because for that much silence, we should get something, anything really.

I mentioned this in another post, but the only nod we get to it is 'The Quatty Patty', and while it's funny, it was an Easter egg in the opening cinematic and not actually anything that held anything to the lore. I could honestly talk more about the name of 'Quatty Patty', but for now, I'll leave it.

The whole thing with Karlnapity does feel like a bit of an end, Q doesn't want to see Karl anymore, Sapnap definitely seemed torn and Karl can seemingly only remember the bad part about his time with Q (which is reasonable because Q literally congratulated him for dying instead of providing any type of comfort over loosing damn life). If that is our Karlnapity breakup, that brings Q's ex total to a whopping 4, and if Wilbur ever catches wind of what just happened to Q, I feel like that could be a really interesting confrontation, I really do.

Hell, I even feel like Q being desperate for comfort and seeking out Wilbur because he feels like the only one who cares, he is the one to come seek him out every day at the Las Nevadas sign, and Q has just lost the person he was closest to. He's crushed, grieving and is showing just how emotional he truly is.

That's the thing about Quackity, I think, he thinks on his emotions in that moment, works on an impulse. He doesn't stop to consider the repercussions, no, instead he lashes out, with words and actions he may live to regret, but I also think this works with his more human side.

He's upset, he's lost someone, so what is he going to do? He's going to fix it in anyway he can. He's desperate to confide in someone? Who cares about him now? Wilbur? Good enough. Q isn't thinking rationally, so why not go to him.

I’ll do Crime Boys first. 

So basically Wilbur meets Tommy on the big giant group back to camp led by Techno. He’d been a runaway staying with Sally (both of them were about 13-14) and dating and Fundy who the both of them had been looking after (he was like `8-9ish?). Tommy was with Tubbo at some school that got attacked by monster (they were about 10-11ish?). 

Anyway Tommy and Wilbur ended up getting along really well, with Wilbur being automatically protective of Tommy and looking out for him when the kid got himself into trouble. They become very close very quickly basically.

Then Sally dies.

Wilbur stays at camp for a bit after but he’s not the same. He’s heartbroken and shaken and starts lashing out and isolating himself. Tommy tries to help him but he’s young and he doesn’t know the first thing about heartbreak or really what Wilbur is going through. He can’t help, and it kills him, especially when Wilbur leaves and people start telling him Wilbur is essentially good as dead (because demigods his age usually don’t last long on their own, especially not ones with non-physical powers like Wilbur).

Tommy tries to sneak out a couple times and go after Wilbur himself but he keeps getting stopped and then he ends up having to go on the quest for Michael and Shroud with Tubbo and Ranboo so he gets distracted.

He doesn’t stop looking though, not once, and he’s overjoyed when Wilbur comes back and the two of them start to grow close again.

Now Tnt duo!

So Q and Wilbur are essentially strangers when Wilbur comes back. The two of them didn’t talk very much before Wilbur left and the little they did wasn’t particularly pleasant (Wilbur was jaded and upset, Q didn’t really know the context just that this guy was sort of a dick and had HORRIBLE luck that made him basically a walking red flag).

Quackity ends up leading a quest after Wilbur returns though to go to Las Vegas with Wilbur, Ranboo, Tubbo and Tommy. Along the way Ranboo helps both Wilbur and Quackity realized not only are they very similar people who understand each other’s pain (because at this point Q has gone through a shit relationship with Schlatt and a relationship with Sapnap and Karl that I think broke off on fine terms but still hurt him). They’re bruised people essentially who have both been through a lot of pain that most of the people around them can’t really understand, but the two of them get each other.

There is this particular scene I have in mind that drives me crazy. In Las Vegas Q meets his mom Tyche and she basically speaks to him about how he needs to open up more and leave things up to chance, that life is a gamble and yes his luck is sorta shit but controlling everything is only making it worse. Then she looks over to Wilbur and says something along the lines of “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a demigod with such poor luck, particularly a son of Apollo. An interesting choice, though I suppose you’ve always liked a challenge. You’re like me in that way.”

Just like... two guys with shit lucks and shit pasts healing together, essentially. That’s their dynamic here.

analysis of eight by sleeping at last and how it relates to aliveburs character

I remember the minute It was like a switch was flipped -wilbur snapping at tommy when he lead schlatt to pogtopia, seemed out of nowhere at the time I was just a kid who grew up strong enough To pick this armor up -he had the charisma and the people to start a nation with violence, but was against it, he didnt want to stoop to dream's level And suddenly it fit -when he came into power God, that was so long ago, long ago, long ago I was little, I was weak and perfectly naive -looking back and thinking how stupid he mustve been to try and run a nation with words And I grew up too quick -was given power before he learned that violence was a necessary evil Now you won't see all that I have to lose -he cant let go of his power, even in pogtopia, when everyone is supposed to be equal, you can see how he takes up a leader-like role And all I've lost in the fight to protect it -canon lives, allies, friendships, his son, ect. I won't let you in, I swore never again -trusted schlatt to vouch for them, but just used them to get on the server to try and get his own power, what if techno does the same thing? I can't afford, no, I refuse to be rejected -'if i cant have Manberg, no one can have Manberg I want to break these bones 'til they're better -he believes that violence solves problems I want to break them right and feel alive -self destructive tendencies and poor coping mechanisms, even before pogtopia, he didnt have anyone to vent to, sure he would smoke with big Q but even then he couldnt tell him everything because he was convinced that it was a weakness. he would yell and lash out at people ruin relationships, ect. You were wrong, you were wrong, you were wrong My healing needed more than time -likely something philza said to him as a kid, his dad always said things when he didnt understand the full story, he called him a terrorist only to do the same thing 2 months later When I see fragile things, helpless things, broken things I see the familiar -not only is this how he sees himself, but how he sees the people around him, babying fundy, 'you will never be president tommy', 'are you saying i shouldnt do this because of niki?' its a new day and i am STILL emotional over slimecicle n i dont think i will ever recover but!!! i see your point entirely and this does leave? a lot opened for the future definitely which like, thank GOD. i hope the next season develops tntduo more. i think i'm just scared this is where quackity completely shuts down emotions but as we see, it isnt the last time he'll care about someone. what if since slimecicle is #gone , he has to bring wilbur onto the las nevadas team to work on it with him like slimecicle did, like man needz some type of companion to rlly function or maybe it'll be the complete opposite n he'll work on their little rivalry even more as a way to try n not focus on the future problems to come w techno's jail break and the death of charlie. EEK IM EXCITED!! - 🦉

I'm gonna be honest, Charlie's death never really affected me that much lmao, the only part of his whole death that surprised me was that he wouldn't go onto the sand, to save himself and do what Q was basically begging him, but alas.

If Quackity emotionally shuts down, I'm not going to feel good, because he's a very emotional character, I've said this before, but he's very much emotionally driven in the things that he does. If he breaks down to the degree he looses that, it's going to be a crushing change to his character, because it makes up so much of him.

I also think that Quackity needs someone to need him, he wants to feel wanted and to be loved. Let me explain why (I promise I'm going somewhere with this):

Like first he was with Eret, and on a surface level, it was just a relationship, they were in love with one another, but it was actually Q who shut it down the night before their wedding. Why? Eret showed him their eyes, and Q thought Eret was a ghost, so he felt lied to and that hurt him. He was angry because he thought he'd been lied to, and so, he lashed out, trying to kill Eret, and ended it there. The relationship had love, but that was gone because Q acted through his emotions before thinking, and that made him loose that, lost that love.

The next one up is Schlatt, and it's honestly a really hard one for me to unpack. I have reason to believe that the abuse was mutual on both of their parts. They both hurt one another, they were horrible for one another, it was emotional and brash. A lot of Q's side of the abuse was generally played off as jokes, but they're still there in canon. Plus the whole "Flatty Patty" and other stuff from Schlatt where everything between them culminated into the white house argument. Q was emotional, and we know what happens when Q is emotional, and he was in power in that, and again, the relationship ended.

I'm also going to throw the Pogtopia tnt duo into this bit about Schlatt and Quackity, because it happened at the same time. Wil and Q flirted heavily, Wil made Q feel loved, or at the very least, wanted in some way. Q loves that, he thrives on that, but Wilbur takes himself from away, he dies. Schlatt is dead, he is dead, and while he won't miss Schlatt, he will Wilbur. He's lost a lot there.

Karl and Sapnap adore him. He's also leading a country, El Rapids, he's loved and he's needed, both things that are a huge tick in Q's mindset, and coming from a place of such loss, loosing a country and two 'lovers', this would feel great. But this time, like with Wilbur, he looses this through no fault of his own, Karl never gives him the message about Koniko, and he thinks they don't care about him anymore.

So where am I going with this?

Well, he meets Charlie while Las Nevadas is young, and Charlie is kinna needy, he gets attached to Q, and Q eventually to him. Charlie needs him. Las Nevadas needs him, and after he's lost so much, he probably feels good about himself. He's in power, and for a while, that power only grows, he feels strong, it feeds into his ego.

But once again it's broken. He looses Charlie, he feels like he's loosing the love of the citizens of his country because of Purpled's betrayal, it's slipping. He's slipping. Like how Wilbur started slipping.

Wilbur knows this feeling. He does, I went over it in another ask but it feels relevant again here. They're such likeminded Characters. They want to both be ontop. Be in charge, they're emotionally led, charismatic and powerful when they want to. They share strengths, they share their flaws.

So Wilbur could really help him out, if Q would be willing to open himself up to another person again, but after so much loss, so many blows to his ego, it's gonna be hard for him!
