#watching a lore video on the game Blasphemous#and ouuuuuugh if i had even the slightest amount more interest in religious symbology as horror and dread i would be all over this thing#im just weird about religious stuff and tend to just not interact with it#like i downloaded a texture pack solely bc i was vaguely uncomfortable with the cross/angel gravestones in terraria#just not my vibe 99% of the time#but like. i can't be normal about this thing. what the fuck is going on here#its a very like. dark souls bloodborne type world where everything is HEAVILY religiously coded but also decrepit and cursed and rot#monsters you can't even recognize the shape of but you know had to have been human at some point.. however long ago that was#and like. divine beings that embody suffering and pain and torture#lots of body horror and self flagellation (that kind of. religious self harm that isn't seen as self harm bc it's religious)#ascendant to the divine via torment and misery#AND its a metroidvania. meaning Of Course i have to play it at some point i mean half of my steam library is metroidvaniad
