Age gap!Bruce is so in love with his wife, I’m sure that he believes she can’t do nothing wrog. Like, he’s the type to brag about how amazing she’s to everybody.
I love your writing and this scenario in particular has me very interested bc I think is so original. Usually, I don’t like age gap bc writers tend to make reader a little childlike or with no personality, but age gap!reader is so unique that I love her so much.
I like to imagine one of Bruce’s exes, like Selina (I’m sorry, but I always remember how she left him at the altar. I love her but my heart breaks for Bruce) comes back to Gotham and everything is kinda awkward bc yes, they have this weird off and on relationship (they haven’t seen each other for more than a year), not string attached but serious at the same time. And suddenly, he’s married to a fucking pop-star and actress??
Even a one night stand seeing Bruce “the playboy” marrying reader.
I can see this with anyone who used to be in love or having feelings either for Bruce or reader. “That should be me” by Justin Bieber will be in their spotify wrapped
I think it was the hard launch of the YEAR. Everyone will be so shocked by it that it becomes an iconic and part of Gotham’s pop culture. They did an interview and suddenly, the next thing they knew?? They got married at a private ceremony where only close family and friends knew.
"This is a stunt even for you, Bruce," Lois scolded tapping her foot. "Honestly-"
Bruce held his hands up, "The only reason it's public now is because we got caught in public. She was perfectly happy to be a private thing."
"Bruce," she scoffed giving him a look, "I know she's an adult but still. You're old enough to be her dad-"
"Not unless I was 16 when she was born," Bruce snorted, "she's the same age Dick is. Damian is 9-"
Lois rolled her eyes and took a seat, "So what did your kids say?"
"Over all, they were fine with it. If not happy about it. But Jason had to make a scene about me dating his childhood crush and betraying him all over again for dramatic effect. And Damian had to lecture me about the security risk."
"Naturally," Lois said smiling. "Jon said Damian had a lot to say about it. That's how we heard about it."
This time it was Bruce's turn to roll his eyes. "Be nice to her-"
"Are you kidding?" Lois asked, slightly incredulous.
"No-"
"Why would I not be? She's Iconic, honestly."
"And better at managing her image than I am," Bruce chuckled.
"Sad, really," Lois observed dryly. "But also impressive."
"No one knows who she dates, where she donates, no one knows her net worth for sure... honestly if she didn't volunteer the information I'm not even sure I'd know her favorite color."
"I'm not surprised," Lois mused, "After watching her get ripped apart a few years ago."
"I don't-"
"You wouldn't," Loid allowed, "You didn't have editors that wanted you to write think pieces about it. And you didn't work in an office that had a betting pool to her inevitable suicide or addiction spiral."
Bruce winced. He didn't remember it. Not directly, but you'd talked about it. It was part of why he agreed to letting you keep things private. You liked keeping things quiet. A separation between your public face and your private one. It fucked you up. And no one protected you. You'd had to handle it alone- Sure, you had your team but that wasn't the same as having PEOPLE to fall back on.
"I'll be nice," Lois assured him, "Just don't be a creep or I'll sic Clark on you later."

How do luffy nami and usopp react to reader saying they'd die for them
Hi Anon! Thank you for your request! Sorry it took so long. You didn't specify whether you wanted mini fanfics or headcanons so I went with the latter. Please note I am currently up to episode 574 (just finished Fishman Island Arc) of One Piece. I hope you like the headcanons!
Fandom: One Piece
Characters: Luffy, Nami, Usopp x gn! Reader (separate)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do the characters react when you say you would die for them?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'll never let you be in that position. While I'm around, you'll never have to put yourself in so much danger."
Luffy is going to be the most serious you've ever seen his outside of battle. He has to make sure you know you're going to be safe when you're around him.
It means a lot to him that you feel so strongly but he couldn't bear to lose you, not after everything he's already been through.
In battle, he'll keep a close eye on his surroundings. He knows you can handle yourself so he just needs to make sure he's not in any danger and you'll be fine.
"Really? Aw, thanks! I'd die for you too you know. But how about we try to keep each other alive instead?"
Nami knows you're being serious but that it's also just a way of showing affection. She's willing to reciprocate the notion.
She's glad you're both open enough with your thoughts that you feel comfortable sharing that with her. It makes things a lot more comfortable both on the ship and in battle.
During battle, Nami will follow through with her words and help keep you safe. She knows you're helping her out as well so it's mutually beneficial.
"For me?! I mean, of course you would, I'm worth protecting with your life after all. Um, but please don't."
Usopp is deeply touched that you would be willing to die for him. He's got some pretty awful self esteem so your words mean a lot.
But at the same time, he's a bit overwhelmed but you bold statement. He doesn't want you to die and he wants you to know that, despite his "brave" facade.
Next time he's in battle, he'll try to stick by you as much as possible to make sure you're both safe. He's got your back if you've got his.

Saw a post going around talking about how you shouldn't donate worn out clothes bcos ppl in need deserve stuff that's actually wearable which is 100% true but just wanted to share some info for ppl who want to try & keep stuff out of landfill:
- some charity shops are happy to take worn out clothes; they can often sell stuff that isn't wearable to a local rag merchant for recycling. They make a small amount of money off your donation & your clothes at least have a shot at not going on a landfill (I don't know what percentage of fabric recycling actually gets recycled but it's a non zero chance which is better than if you put it in the bin).
Would recommend going in and asking if they can take fabric recycling! I've asked 2 local shops and both were happy to take whatever, one said they preferred people separate out anything for recycling & the other said they didn't care.
- If there's nowhere local to you that can take recycling, you could also try Freecycle or a buy nothing group or similar. There might be someone on there looking for scrap fabric for sewing or crafting, you never know!
Charity shops can take a surprising number of less obvious things so it's worth checking individual websites for your local shops to see what they can take off your hands. & you can put anything you want on sites like Freecycle - if no-one wants it no harm done. :)

10 Thrifting Tips – Part ? I lost count just check my thrifting tag
1) Make friends with the staff. If you go into a particular thrift store frequently it’s well worth it to get friendly with the staff. Ask them about their day, chat with them about what you’re buying, infodump if you’ve found something exciting and unusual. When the staff get to know you and know what you buy they’ll start pointing out things in the store that have come in since the last time you were there, that fit your interests. They may even start putting things aside for you. Recently I walked into my favorite thrift store and had 2 separate staff members say ‘Oh I’ve got something for you’. Plus having the staff greet you by name and having little inside jokes with them just makes the whole experience more fun.
2) Brita jugs turn up at the thrift store frequently. If tap water in your area is safe but has A Taste, keep an eye out at the thrift store.
3) Coffee making equipment. Capsule coffee makers, the wire racks that hold the capsules, French presses, these all get donated frequently. The occasional espresso machine comes in – and goes out very quickly. Now and then you’ll find pour-over coffee equipment. If you like your bean juice you can get the equipment you need to make fancy bean juice at the thrift store.
4) Handmade pottery mugs. Story time: About 6 or 7 years ago I went into a thrift store and someone had obviously just cleaned out their mug cupboard and donated a pile of handmade pottery. I bought 4 because I thought they were cool, very tactile, nice to hold. This AWOKE something in me. Humans have used handmade pottery for thousands of years and there’s something about holding a handmade mug that sparks a genetic memory of warmth and comfort. Pottery also has much better thermal properties than mass produced ceramic, hot stays hot longer and vice versa with cold. Build up a little collection of handmade pottery mugs from the thrift store, each one has its own personality and it brings joy using them.
5) In the same vein: teaspoons. Build up a collection of fun teaspoons and take joy from using different ones depending on your mood. I have one with an owl on the end and another with a rose, a brass one with a wiggly handle in the shape of a snake, one that has the branding of an airline that now only uses wooden stirrers - probably because people kept pocketing the stainless-steel teaspoons (I always wanted to steal one as a child but never had the nerve). Whenever I need a teaspoon it’s always a little endorphin boost to open the drawer and select the perfect one for today.
6) If you need something to do a specific job, be patient, you will find the perfect thing eventually. I switched to solid shampoo and my old soap dish wasn’t big enough to hold my shampoo bar and my regular soap, so I waited and watched and found the perfect little glass tray that was exactly the right size and fits perfectly on the shelf in my shower. I could have bought a brand new made-for-that-purpose multi soap holder, but it wouldn’t have been as cool looking and when I’m done with it, it wouldn’t necessarily get another life.
7) Gift supplies. Thrift stores often have a selection of unused gift wrap, bags, bows, cards. It’s worth it to sift through what they’ve got and buy any you think you might use – even if you don’t have an immediate use for it. That stuff can get expensive so if you can create a small stash then, when you need it, you won’t have to shell out $$.
8) Look for things that can be made over – or thrift flipped as the DIY content creators like to say. There’s so much satisfaction from looking at something that was plain ugly when you bought it and you’ve turned it into something pretty. It doesn’t need to be a major transformation that requires 5 different power-tools and 100 bucks worth of supplies. It can be as simple as a lick of paint, but every time you look at you will feel good about it.
9) Sometimes it’s worth buying something that’s just really cool and figuring out a use for it later. I bought the coolest little silver plated mustard pot; it has 3 legs and at the top of each leg is a lion head. Do I eat mustard much? No. Did I know what the heck I would use it for? No. I get bad indigestion and keep antacids on hand, I hate how once you tear open the roll, they tend to spill everywhere so I like to put them in something. Guess what holds exactly one roll of antacids? If something is just freaking awesome but you don’t know what you’d use it for, you will find a use (and it will be so much cooler than anything else you might have bought for that purpose).
10) Use the fancy stuff. Don’t ever look at something in a thrift store and think: that’s too fancy, I’ll never use it. If it’s not bought and used it ends up in landfill. Save it from the landfill and use it. Today I bought the most OTT fancy silver pepper shaker to sit next to my stove and hold ground pepper for cooking with, one of my housemates never puts the damn pepper back in the cupboard when he’s finished with it, so now we have this ostentatious silver shaker next to the stove top. One of my dogs can be relied upon to get half of his food on the floor before he hoovers it up, I could have got a plastic mat to feed him on but I had a spare thrifted marble cutting/serving board (I have a problem, I own 3, I have so much trouble resisting them), and another plus - he can’t destroy it like he would a plastic mat. I keep my toothbrush in a crystal bud vase. I decant my micellar water into a bottle shaped like a seahorse. I eat off pretty vintage pink glass plates. Using the fancy stuff from thrift stores both helps you romanticize your own life and it gives these items another life. Do be sensible though, some items made before the early 1970s including glassware and dinnerware contain lead in the decoration so do your due diligence and be safe.

☆ MOON SHADOWS
⤷ hc request for @schadowheart as part of my headcanons for gaza which you can find more about here! If you can donate and would like to receive a hc in exchange too please do <3
mother superior/dark justiciar shadowheart non sharran reader/tav angst relationship. sfw. toxic relationship dynamics.
despite how much she cares for you her dedication to shar trumps everything else, it has to if she's in the position of mother superior/dark justiciar. shadowheart isn't blind, she knows it's not a "have your cake and eat it too" situation
but she would still try, in her own way. I think she would keep you at arms length when it comes to anything explicitly about her activities in the cloister, not to be secretive but to spare you the burden of knowledge, to give you deniability. sharrans hunt selunites as well as mystra and lethander worshippers, you don't need to know details of things like that or of the methods used by justiciars for information gathering or punishment
she knows you're not blind either and you are already aware of the more gruesome things shar demands of her faithful but it's her own bare bones attempt at protecting you and hopefully allowing you to maintain a distinction between your version of her and the version of her that can commit acts that are less than merciful for her faith
it's an intense source of shame when she's with you and it plants a tiny seed of resentment in her mind. it's hard to keep in her head that it isn't your fault, she's the one constructing your relationship this way, but still. you inherently make her question her faith and if this balancing act is worth it, which digs a deeper hole in her heart because it's clear to her that she can't have both you and shar
but she still wouldn't be jumping to throw in the towel, not after experiencing real care and love with you after being starved of it for so long. so the internal battle would continue and as it does it'll become more and more difficult for her to keep herself together
there would be more arguments, more irritation, more unclear communication as she doesn't want to directly blame you for whats going on in her head or speak words of doubt into existence regarding her faith, and the walls of separation would soar higher and higher in tandem with her faith bound duty until eventually nearly all of her is walled off to you
but even then she wouldn't be willing to let you go. you can learn to lick love off a knife if it's all you have and she's had a lifetime of doing it for shar, she'll do it with you too. it doesn't matter how explosive or volatile arguments become, she'll say whatever she thinks is necessary to soothe you in the moment and keep some peace until the next storm blows through
it's an uneasy arrangement but eventually it becomes second nature to navigate emotional outbursts or the times you beg her to just talk to you. depending on how many years it's been it also becomes easier for her to simply answer with a "you know I can't" and keep her heart detached against any tearful displays from you
if you do finally attempt to leave I think she would snap, little by little all these cracks and fissures have been forming and that would be like the final step across an icy surface that's too thin to hold up and plunging into subzero water. she wouldn't go full delusional yandere but you're not getting away from her so easily
would frame it constantly as you giving up, being the weak one, being the one unwilling to sacrifice for mutual happiness and her own resentment from her self imposed strain would make the words come out like poison dipped arrows. to her you would be weak and unwilling because she's already done so much, put herself under so much stress just to hold onto you and yet you can't handle even a fraction of the same?
it would be impossible for her to see that it isn't the case, that saying those things to you or about you isn't completely correct because her own view of the relationship has become so warped and years of that stress from her near constant crisis of faith would spill out like floodwater
but, per shars tenants, she would give over that pain and use it in her acts done in shars name. detached brutality or particularly vile subterfuge would become easy for her. there would no longer be any separation between who she is and her role in her religion. it would all become fully one in the same and her faith would only deepen because she would view it as either being rewarded by the goddess or favored by her in some way for remaining faithful despite the difficulties in your relationship. her reward for no longer being burdened by the unfaithful
all her pain and sorrow over your relationship would never be properly dealt with, not even close. it would remain a sore spot, a twin to the wound on her hand that burns constantly no matter how "rewarded" she is by shar for brute forcing her way through it to continue her duty

OOC: Sorry, it's a bit of an OOC day today!
So, people expressed interest in the MISSI logo as a sticker, and then someone asked about stickers for the other events. I thought about it for a while and checked costs for things, and I wanted to put some options out there to see what people think.
One thought I had is a sort of donation reward thing, which ko-fi has a function for - $5/mo to get 2 or so copies of a 1.3" sticker based on that month's "event" (which I do intend to keep up). To get "caught up" to all four past events, I think I can get 84 stickers, divided evenly into all the past events, for a little over 35$. Then each month after that it would be 23$/mo, with the leftovers being sold separately to those who want them (or you could get "catch ups" in your monthly donation reward). I want to make this fair to both us and you all. I'd need 4-5 $5/mo subs to make it worth it, which of course is a smidge of a gamble.
The other option is to simply have stickers made of the events as they happen, if enough people express interest in them, and not make any if no one does. The MISSI event was very popular so regardless that one's probably happening anyway, but I wanted to put that out there. They would then just be sold for like $2 CAD plus shipping (~$2).
Let me know what you all think!

Love Reading 💋
911 is your confirmation for this reading. There’s communication coming in but from someone from your past, you could’ve manifested this person back or this is what they’re doing, make sure you guys are protecting your energy and doing protection work/ spells because I feel like this person is pulling on your energy. You or them could be wanting to compromise and work things out but honestly I see someone moving forward and moving on with their life, and allowing themselves to open up to new possibilities, changes and people. Could be dealing with a fire sign or could be hearing a lot of sirens… that’s your confirmation. There may have been some exchanging of words that may have caused this separation. Some of you are going to be meeting an Earth sign but I’m also hearing “fire” or this person has fire or earth in their chart. I see a lot of deception too and third party energy, 919 is significant someone could be a Virgo and I’m hearing Cancer. You’re coming up as the Queen of Pentacles. You’re very resourceful, humble, nurturing and when you invest into people you really do invest in them but this person could’ve token advantage of that but that’s okay, continue working and focusing on yourself and your own needs at this time. This person could’ve been very cold hearted and disconnected emotionally, or this person wasn’t emotionally fulfilling you in some way. The words they say can cut really deep, they may have their guard up or they did in the past. When you wanted to pour into this person’s cup they rejected it, this person could be experiencing a tower or heart break at this time. What they’ve done and said to you, they’re going through it with someone else. This person is in pain, they’re hearting… you could be feeling their energy too. You’ve filled too many of their cups now it’s time to fill your own. For some, they could’ve used you for “passion” and may have thought that that’s all you need to be “fulfilled” and this caused you to walk away from them. This person may have felt like you were the one who got away. They could also be sleeping with someone else and their karma is going to hit, they may even be with someone else already but whoever they’re with now, is going to betray them in some way. This person is going to try to make their way back to you, they could also be watching you too, if this person was flighty in the past ain't nothing change and its not going to change, they're going to want to work/ collaborate with you but i feel like you need to meditate on it first because will be expecting you to take a blind leap of faith… yet again. There's a King of Pentacles coming towards you that's going to want to give you all that you deserve, they see and know your worth and they’re VERY stable, could also be wealthy too. I see pregnancy in the near future or just you being with them is going to really put you in this 9 of pentacles & Empress energy. Could be a Taurus or Aries, could be a cusp or they have these placements… this person is your true twin flame 933 and 33 is your confirmation, there may also be an age gap too! The person from your past could’ve been a false flame or a karmic. Not going to lie..: this King of pentacles is FIIINE!! Lmao very strong features and pretty built or they keep themselves in good shape. They could be into herbs or herbalism… this person is just into natural things could also be a shaman or you are. This is something that’s divine but also powerful too! You may be a little confused on whether or not you should date this person but I think you should give it a try but do take your time, this person doesn’t like to rush things anyway. Your inner child is really going to shine with this person, you’re also going to find out that the both of you are similar in so many ways… talk about mirroring each other lol

Tradition (1/12 9)
This is a bit of a departure from my usual microfics, but I wanted to do something Christmassy since it's that time of year. 12 fics feels a bit ambitious, so that number may change, but I'm hoping for the best for now. In the meantime, enjoy some baby wolfstar :)
Next Part
December 1971
It had started as an idea. Barely even an idea, really. A thought, maybe, sparking in a conversation about the upcoming Christmas break.
Remus had been complaining about their transfiguration homework, lamenting that it wasn't already Christmas, when Sirius scoffed.
"What? You don't like Christmas?" Remus asked.
"You do?" Sirius responded incredulously. "It's all boring dinners with old people you barely know, fancy food in tiny portions you don't even get to enjoy, and scratchy formal clothes. And, yeah, occasionally a good present, but usually my parents take anything good away the second I misbehave, so it's not really worth it."
A breath of silence went around the dorm.
"That's...not how Christmas usually goes," Remus said slowly. "At least, not for me."
James and Peter shook their heads too.
"I mean, yeah, we have a family dinner," Peter added. "But normally I sit with my cousins, and we get to leave early to play in the snow while the adults keep talking."
"And my mom normally makes an amazing meal," James said. "Turkey, roast potatoes, gravy, plus dessert. We usually have too much leftover to eat by ourselves, so we donate it to the local church for the homeless shelter."
"Yeah, I've never had to wear anything formal, or anything like that," Remus continued. "We just wear whatever's comfortable. It's just family, anyway. Do you at least have some fun traditions? Like sledding or something?"
Sirius frowned.
"My mother would never let me and Reg do anything like that," he answered. "In her mind, Christmas is about strengthening our bonds with the rest of the Sacred 28. So no fun allowed."
He went back to his essay with a frown after that, even as the others continued to discuss what they were looking forward to in the coming holidays. Remus kept thinking about it though, mentally listing out all his family's traditions and wondering how many Sirius had never experienced.
It was a thought, at first.
It became something more.
*
The night before term ended, Sirius found a note on his bed, asking him to meet Remus in the kitchens. Curious, he left the dorms immediately to find his friend. When he got there, he found Remus, surrounded by baking ingredients and concerned house elves, grinning widely.
"What's going on, Rem?"
"I don't think it's fair that everyone gets to have a fun Christmas, while you're stuck with your boring family obligations," Remus said, gesturing with a wooden spoon as he spoke. "So, we're starting our own Christmas traditions right now. You and I are going to make a gingerbread house from scratch."
Sirius burst out laughing. "I don't even know what that is! How are we supposed to do that?"
Remus picked up a piece of paper from the table and shook it in Sirius's face.
"My mother has sent me her recipe, with careful instructions on how to bake, decorate and construct the house. How hard can it be?"
What followed was several hours of baking and decorating, supervised by anxious house elves from whom the two boys refused to accept any help or advice, leading to several mistakes along the way. First, they didn't roll out the dough evenly, ending up with only half of the roof and one very thick wall. They struggled to separate the eggs and had to restart the icing entirely. Sirius had been snacking on sweets throughout the process, which significantly lessened their decorations. Finally, they misread Hope's instructions, and built the whole house before decorating, meaning their decorations came out slightly wonky despite their best efforts.
Regardless, once they had completed the house, they proudly carried it all the way to Gryffindor tower and showed it off to everyone in the common room, demanding pictures be taken of their 'work of art' before anyone could eat it.
Sirius pinned the picture of the pair of them with their house to the back of his journal, hoping his mother would never discover it. He had icing in his hair, and both of them were covered in flour and sugar - a mess his parents would never approve of - but they were laughing and grinning proudly at their work.
For the first time, Sirius began to see the appeal of the holiday season.

Chaeyoung x F Reader - "Something Just Like This"
FINALLY, THE LAST ONE-SHOT TO END THE SET 5 LINE-UP. I know this is the last, but sorry if this may suck, because I wrote it in just one go and it lacks editing. I'm still struggling with my lack of interest in writing these days and it's more difficult to cope if you're also battling with your poor mental and emotional health condition (yes, i'm currently having anxiety and panic attacks again because of being depressed from my personal matters) while stuck in a tight schedule full of stressful tasks both in campus and home. This one also lacks deeper research, but I still did some for basic infos that might help me with executing this concept that I input in this story. I needed it because it's the first time I'm doing this type of relationship-origin in romance. Despite of the cons and flaws, I still poured all the best that I have to write this story. Again, I'm sorry if I'm not updating often now like I've been doing since last year. Things has been pretty rough for me so far. Anyway, enjoy reading and kindly donate to my Ko-Fi account here if you liked it! I'll appreciate any amount of support from you guys. Thanks and see yall again on the Set 6 line-up!

To serve and to protect is the golden rule of a cop's duty.
For Son Chaeyoung, who has been working as a correctional officer or a warder for short, that apply much to her position.
She had to endure regulating and guarding the various behaviors of the prisoners that come and go around the place where they are locked up for the bad deeds they've done.
It was getting boring, in honestly speaking, with just standing and walking around most of the time every day to watch over prisoners who mostly couldn't care less about her.
Thankfully, she's not the only one who suffers in this particular line of work. There are colleagues of hers who can sympathize with her and could help each other to lessen the gloomy mood and at least search for a way to cheer themselves up during their duty.
Chaeyoung could tell that she has a lot of fellow officers here with whom she has gotten closer. She wants to be humble, but she knows that the reason she can attract others is because of her nice personality and... Well, yeah, her beauty that others seem to see is what separates her from them.
Chaeyoung doesn't have any interests in love life as of the moment, but she could admit that she's looking for someone who would like her not just for her qualities but to acknowledge that she's worth a meaning in her life.
She was walking with other police officers outside of the prison block to greet the new convicted people that were brought here by bus.
They watched them hop out one by one before the assigned member who will be in charge of organizing them instructed them to fall in line first.
"Alright, listen up. All of you were transferred here in Seoul Metropolitan Prison Camp, and this is where you will be placed in jail permanently, meaning that you will stay here depending on how long your granted sentences are." The leader of the correctional officers team, Boo Seungkwan, introduced
"As you all see, these cops will be in charge of monitoring your cells, so don't do anything stupid that might increase the length of your time here if you all want to leave and start another life, unless you still have one." Seungkwan points at the officers who are grouped on the other side.
"Now follow them, and they will be directing you all into your respective blocks. Move."
All of them start to walk side by side with the officers as they start their responsibility of keeping their eyes on these prisoners.
"I hope many of these newbies won't add up to those who are pain in the ass, Chaeyoung heard her colleague named Lee Youngji blurt before releasing a sigh. She didn't respond in words; just a stiffled laugh was enough for the latter to notice.
They were slowly presented to their new cell block, and we gave them their prison attire to change into.
At the West Hall, where Chaeyoung and Youngji are assigned, they split the six remaining inmates into three each.
With the last one, Chaeyoung looked at this person. She was a female, and it was a bit strange why she was giving out a smirk at the good cop.
"Inmate number 2129, name YN/LN, guilty for arson, hmm." Chaeyoung reads her information from the document papers she's holding. "Follow me."
"Your voice is mellow" the inmate said out of the blue. Chaeyoung slowed her footsteps.
"Pardon?"
"Yeah, I'm right." YN seethed. "You sound way less authorative. than those fellow peeps like you."
"Do I need to be harsh on you?" Chaeyoung tilted her head and raised her eyebrow.
"Oh, nope. Sorry." She shook her head.
"Good. Then stay quiet if you don't want me to show you how cruel I can be." Chaeyoung warned. "My day's getting real fine so far, and I don't want someone like you to ruin it."
"Yes, boss." YN taunted as she raised her handcuffed hands slightly.
They were inches away from their destination. Chaeyoung was about to head forward and release her keys when YN spoke again behind her, disregarding her threat just few minutes ago.
"One last thing, uhm... can I ask something?"
"About?"
"What inspired you to be a cop?"
"To capture criminals like you. Is that even hard to tell?"
"Wow, I'm offended." YN touched her chest, pretending to be hurt.
"Ofcourse, you do." Chaeyoung went in front of the cell door and inserted her key there to open.
"That's what you think." YN shrugged. "But honestly, I just asked because... you look just way too beautiful to be a cop, though. There's more out there who could-"
"Look, Ms. LN. I've heard many people try that same old lame move they've been doing on me and they all just failed. I don't give a damn if I choose this job, because this is my dream and I won't just give in to others who dictate what my life should be." Chaeyoung faced YN and applied a slight ferocity to her tone.
The latter wasn't terrified but rather impressed that this cute officer could indeed show a different side that gives her at least a fitting characteristic of being a cop.
"I didn't mean it to be that, I swear. I'm just saying the truth...." YN defended, trying to calm down Chaeyoung, yet it didn't work out so well still.
"Did you even hear what I told you that you should shut your mouth?" Chaeyoung crossed her arm. "Your first day here hasn't even starting yet and you're being arrogant already."
YN gaped her mouth, about to speak but choses not to in the end.
"Good. Prove me different, would you?" Chaeyoung rolled her eyes before opening the cell.
"This will be your section for now on. If you need anything or whatever you do there inside, I have to remind you that I will be the one in charge of you among others here with you in the hall. Now, go and change up." Chaeyoung instructed before she closed the door, leaving YN inside still standing in the middle of an average space room holding her attire.
"She'll believe me someday." YN popped her mouth before she heads to her bed and lay there to rest after a long ride.
Meanwhile, Chaeyoung who returns in her spot, placed down the papers on her desk and sat on her chair.
She glanced up at YN's room and shook her head as she sighed, with the inmates's compliments repeating in her head.
--------------------------------------
The next day, Chaeyoung escorted YN to the visitation booth when she received a visit request from a person who might be close to YN in her personal life.
She informed YN and walked her through the room. Opening the door, she urged YN to enter and leave her with her visitor for some alone time to discuss whatever they might have privately.
For YN, she stood in the room and recognized the guy sitting on the opposite side behind the plexiglass.
She sat on the chair and grabbed the telephone, pressing it on the speaker just like he did to hear each other's words when they spoke.
"I never thought that it would come to this moment where I would be seeing you in those inmate clothes, sister" her brother Insoo, said. "I know how terrible of a sister you are, but going through the point where you could actually commit a crime? Not surprising, but interesting for you."
"That's bullshit, Insoo-ah" YN said. "You really believe their accusations against me? You know that I don't play with fire; the hell I would dare to cause such destruction of a property by burning it down!"
"People can change, YN, and so can you" Insoo replied. YN scoffed, looking unbelievably at her older brother. "I don't know what has gotten into your mind, but have you really ever thought of what this would bring to our family? Now that you did it, you scratched and tainted the reputation of our name; even our family, who worked out to make us relevant, was affected by it!"
YN didn't say anything, she lets her brother to continue as she kept on listening to her manipulated remarks. "They're so disappointed of you, sister... and even me. This is a serious mess you've caused for us, and do you really think that you'll make us clean it for you?"
"W-where are you going with this, Insoo?"
"I came here today to tell you that our parents decided not to take any legal actions in attempt to grant your request of proving yourself not guilty in your case."
YN's eyes widened, petrified at the information given by her disrespectful brother.
"N-no..."
"You've caused them enough burden and headaches through these years, YN and it's normal for them to be tired of dealing with you."
"Don't tell me you have become one of them, Insoo-ah..."
"I already did."
YN's heart cracked. The trust and support she was expecting to receive from them despite all the mistreatment she's been getting from her rich family since her childhood has vanished completely.
At this moment, she truly felt that she had no family to live with anymore. She doesn't know, though, if it's like they're the ones who don't exist or if it's her now who is being appointed to be responsible for any of this.
"I never liked you, YN. I never even wished to have a sister like you, Insoo said. YN's eyes became watery at the painful words she'd been getting from the sibling she cherished the most, even though she wasn't being reciprocated after every effort she had to make.
"And now, I sincerely do think that our parents made a good decision by keeping you here. Because, after what you've done, you have proven yourself that you don't deserve to be my sibling and to belong in our family, let alone to have a criminal like you."
YN wants to respond, but it's as if the words filled with rage, disbelief, and torment were stuck in her throat. Only her desperate pleas were able to be released from her mouth.
"No, p-please. Insoo, don't. W-why are you doing this to me?!" YN leans forward and clasps her hands; her position clearly defines what a begging person would look like.
Teardrops began to run down her face, brought on by the simultaneous collapse of everything she'd built for herself because the one thing she was once treating as her source of inspiration and strength now turned out to be her weakness and the cause of her destruction.
"You simply deserve it; no further explanations are needed. Actions speak louder than words, and that is where you are mistaken, YN, Insoo commented. YN noticed that he didn't call her "sister" for the first time, signifying that his intentions of getting rid of her from his connection for good were serious.
"Take this as the last time you will ever see me, YN. This is enough for me to see you pay for the sin you've committed."
"Insoo... Insoo-ah!!! Come back! P-please... save me... get me out of here, I'm your sister for fucks sake!!!" YN stood from her seat and shouted at Insoo, who took his way out of the room. She slammed her hands on the table and placed her head down on it as she cried terribly.
Chaeyoung opened the door when she heard a knocking signal. A messed-up look from YN is what greeted her, and that piqued the curiosity of the cop.
As they arrived back at the cell, after Chaeyoung unlocked the door, she wanted to at least ask the inmate what happened to her.
It's not that she's concerned about her; she just wants to know why, since this is the first time she's seen YN with this broken demeanor after weeks of her stay in prison.
However, she failed to do so when YN immediately went to her room and crashed her body against the bed. Chaeyoung was about to say something but decided to just give her some space since she might need it a lot.
And she was right; after she closed the door and locked it, she was about to walk away when she heard some heavy sobs from the inside, focusing her attention more on the prisoner's poor condition.
The next day, Chaeyoung saw YN sitting on one of the benches alone in the yard, surrounded by a crowd of other prisoners just doing their own business, whether chatting with their cellmates, playing sports, or just enjoying the fresh breeze of air like YN is doing, even though the word "enjoy" doesn't seem to apply to what Chaeyoung is witnessing.
YN was just staring at the grassy land, spacing out from the unknown. Chaeyoung predicted that what she encountered yesterday during the vaation must left some heavy thoughts to cloud her mind deeply.
It kinda haunts and makes the officer uncomfy, again she doesn't know but who cares? That's her prisoner and it's her duty to ensure that they are in proper condition.
"You look lonely."
YN raised her head up to see Officer Son standing beside her, clutching on her pockets. That didn't lasted long as she just returned it back on her leg.
"Could I provide some way to fix that?"
"Why would you bother anyway?" YN asks. "I thought you wouldn't care about me, just like anything I've ever known and encountered in my life."
"You're under my supervision, YN/LN, so it's my responsibility to assist you."
"How so?" YN blurted. "If I tell what I want, and that it to bring the people I've lost in my life to come back, would you do that for me?"
"What is going on, YN? Why did you have to mention them?" Chaeyoung stepped closer at YN who is now trying to shift herself to the side, flinching at the presence of the cop.
"This has something to do with yesterday, doesn't it?"
YN didn't reply for a second there as she remained staring down at the grass. Chaeyoung thought that she still couldn't make it so in respect, she grabbed a bottle of water and gave it to YN.
"Take it."
"For what?"
"Give yourself a break for now", Chaeyoung said before YN finally took a sip and capped the bottle. "I know what happened might be too personal for you, but if you're having any struggles, I'm just right here for you to lean on and open up whatever you've been carrying deep inside of you."
YN sighed and tightened her lips, keeping her eyes focused on the other prisoners around her. She sensed Chaeyoung about to turn her back and walk away when she finally spoke, preventing the latter from leaving too soon.
"My brother just visited me yesterday. He told me that they weren't going to do any solutions for my sentence."
Chaeyoung turned around and looked at her, wiping off tears in her eyes with the back of her hand. "I feel betrayed, disheartened, whatever you want to call it. I never would've expected them that they would just drop the ball and never pick it up again. I was rather telling myself that maybe someday, everything's going to be alright and they'll get to show me that they do indeed care for me despite how they've never been expressive for me all these years."
"But now, I just learned that I've been making myself like a fool for believing something that will only remain in my imagination. They really don't care about me, and never will be. Seeing how they're just completely fine for them that I get to spend 2 years of my lifetime here in prison for something I didn't do." "You didn't do it?" Chaeyoung furrowed her eyebrows. "Wait... YN-"
"I don't know if you have forgotten that not all people who get convicted in the world were guilty and masterminds of the crimes that were committed. There were others too who got victimized and blamed in order to save their selfish selves, picking any innocent person that is unaware of what's going to happen for them."
"I didn't, YN. I know and I have encountered other colleagues of mine who shared their own stories about them experiencing one."
"Then I guess you have your own story to tell this time."
Chaeyoung looked intently at YN.
"YN, you're not who I think you are... don't you?"
YN smiled and shut her eyes. "I'm actually disappointed that although you've known the fact, you couldn't resist assuming others that they're criminals just because they're wearing these sinner's clothes, just like what you did to me these past few weeks." She glanced at Chaeyoung after, her lips formed straight in seriousness.
"L-look, YN... I'm sorry, but the evidence that was presented against you in the court that led you here just proves that you were behind the arson. That won't grant you what we call "guilty until proven innocent". That's why you're locked up here at the moment, and that's why I don't see any mistake for us to call you a criminal because that's what the judgment provided us to know about you."
"So it looks like I do deserve it; I'm sorry if I blamed you, off-."
"No, don't mind it. I have a fault here too. I should've been mindful." Chaeyoung shook her head. "But please, tell me. If you're really not the one who did the crime, then who do you think it is?"
"I have no idea." YN shrugged, her voice raising a little. "All I know is that detectives and other police went to my house and sent me an arrest warrant saying that the evidence they caught in the scene all leads to me. And I was wondering how I would cause a fire if I didn't even know what place that was, and not to mention, those things they saw were stored in my garage."
Chaeyoung nodded as she took in YN's summary of her mind. "So you're saying that if that wasn't you, then somebody did that fire on the hardware store and they used your things, am I correct?"
"Y-yeah."
"Then in that case, the real culprit is still roaming around out there, enjoying the life of being unruled within the justice system, Chaeyoung said. "Do you plan to reopen the case?"
"I... I don't know." YN sighed, gripping at the wood of the bench tightly. "I've lost hope anymore, Officer Son. My family turned their back on me, and for sure everybody who knows me will surely do the same. You don't know how influential they can be."
"Officer, it's too late for me. I feel like this is my fate. Where I belong to. I know that I was never technically a part of their family, sharing their blood, but... it troubles me that if they didn't care about me, why they'd still take the decision to adopt me when I was a lost child."
Chaeyoung was astounded at YN's reveal of her backstory, shedding more light to make herself more understandable.
"You know what, I should stop this. Whatever happens, it will all be left for me to deal with it. This is my karma for being ungrateful."
After their conversation, YN stood up from her seat and walked away with her head lowered. Chaeyoung watches her disappear, with an obvious sight of concern and pity present in her face, after discovering the facts that YN has never given a chance to be explained and defend herself.
----------------------
Each day that passes, YN and Chaeyoung's closeness grows, which begins to capture others attention, mostly from the prisoners, where they earn teases from them.
However, they both also receive some discrimination, mostly from the cop's low perspective towards YN being a criminal and for Chaeyoung seemingly losing her focus on the real deal of her duty by being affectionate towards prisoners.
There's one time where Chaeyoung is patrolling around the blocks when her fellow cop approaches and joins her on the stroll, only with the intention of attempting to hit up the young lady.
She feels immensely harassed by him with all the force insists and weird flirty acts. Chaeyoung tries to decline and separate herself from her co-worker, but she just can't let go and arrogantly proceeds to irritate her.
Chaeyoung is doing her best to hold on to her stability and not cross the line and risk her job for a scumbag like him until YN suddenly shows up and confronts the cop.
"Couldn't you hear what she's saying? How many more times would it take for you to leave her alone?"
"Shut up, prisoner. This ain't none of your business here. Cops talk." The male cop smirks smugly at her as he presses his biceps closer to Chaeyoung, who begins to shiver in a mixture of frustration and disgust.
YN noticed Chaeyoung's discomfort, which motivated her to help this poor woman more. "Oh really? From the looks of Officer Son, though, she looks like she doesn't want to see you disturbing her. Are you even aware, or are you just pretending to be blind?"
"Last warning, get out or I'll throw you back to the cell where you belong."
YN sighed and looked at Chaeyoung, who just shook her head and silently signaled her to not go with it, but she just glared back at her and stared at the perverted cop dead in the eyes.
"I've been giving all my respect to all of the officials doing their duty to manage this place, but of course, just like everybody, I have an exception, and I do it especially for people like you who couldn't understand what consent is."
YN stepped closer and stood toe to toe with the male cop, keeping Chaeyoung close to her with his hand on her wrist.
"Get your goddamn hands away from her." She gritted her teeth as she hissed.
The male cop's lips twitched and rolled his tongue before he gave Chaeyoung a headbutt, making the girl dizzy as she landed on the floor.
"Come here, you piece of shit." The male cop tugged YN's hair and dragged her closer to him.
"DO. YOU. KNOW. WHO. YOU. ARE. CURSING. AT, YOU. BITCH!" The male cop is slapping YN harshly both in her left and right cheek with every words he pronounce.
Chaeyoung shouted for help, drawing all the prisoners and cops attention to the fight that was happening.
They split them apart from each other. The male cop abusing YN furiously sweeps away all of his colleague's hands from touching him in an attempt to calm him down before he walks away and glares dangerously at YN's attack state.
The cops who helped YN escorted her to the medical room to get her wounds and bruises treated.
The nurse was about to apply aid to YN, but Chaeyoung interrupts as she enters the room, saying something to the nurse before she leaves, leaving the two alone.
"You're supposed to guard there; w-why are you here?"
"I can't be calmed knowing I had somebody used herself in defense for me to be protected." Chaeyoung said. She pulled the metal cart with tray filled with medicines in her.
"Let me treat you by myself. Take this as my repay atleast for what you've done for me." Chaeyoung said as she reached for the cotton and betadine liquid to pour into.
"You don't have to do that." YN groaned as she felt the aching part had pressure applied to it. "I can't just stand there and watch you working with passion just to get disrepected and sexualized."
Chaeyoung smiled at YN's remark. "Thank you for that, seriously."
"You should do something about that guy. You can't just let him get away with it."
Chaeyoung went silent, trouble plastered in her look.
"Why? What's with the tense?"
"I don't have much evidence to prove. He might spun around the story and make himself a victim."
"The CCTV's?"
"The CCTV's range of view doesn't reach in that area, YN." Chaeyoung answered.
"Well I guess I have to do it myself." YN said before she winces in pain. "Ow ow aish..."
"Stay still, I know it hurts but you won't heal if you allow me." Chaeyoung then wheezes after.
"Why? What's so funny, huh?"
"I don't know... I just find it funny that you're more scared of a cotton getting damped in your wound than receiving a bunch of heavy blows from a well-built guy."
YN rolled his eyes and nudges her lips. "Stop teasing me."
Chaeyoung laughs and continues to wrap the wounds with gauze properly. "Now, now. We're almost done so be chill."
"But I just find something funny too."
"What's yours?" Chaeyoung asks.
"You even made an effort to come here and do the aid by yourself when all I needed to be fine and ease my pain was to hear your soothing voice and see you unharmed by that pervert."
Chaeyoung paused at her movement and slowly made contact with YN's eyes, viewing her as she reacted speechlessly. She saw her smile developing while she wandered around her features.
"Believe me or not, but I meant what I said before. I'm not the type who focuses only on the outside, but you're just pretty; it's so unavoidable.
So thank you, Chaeyoung. Thank you for always making me calm when you're near."
Chaeyoung was only able to nod before she finished her treatment for YN; the lack of words dealt by her fluttering and appreciative remarks is what sent her conscience to go crazy.
She declared that the wounds in her face were now treated. Before she's about to go away, YN halts her for one last message before they end seeing each other for today. "About your problem, I got your back, Chae. I'll volunteer as the witness if it requires one."
"B-but what if they won't believe you?" Chaeyoung worried. YN can see the hopelessness in her, exactly the same as what she's been going through.
But YN didn't focus at that, there's this difference that she spotted which was more important for her to based on.
"Then I will keep pushing forward until I make them be, because you have a chance and you have the right to grab that, Chae. I don't want you to end up like me."
As Chaeyoung left the room, she sighed and stroked her hair stressfully as she makes her way back to her station.
She is beginning to become impatient and irritated at YN's negative insights.
"You keep saying that to yourself, why have you given up already?"
She knew it wasn't over for YN yet, and if that prisoner has lost its way to search for a solution down the road, then she doesn't want her to remain like that forever. Now she is convinced that she was just left there abandoned by the people she considered her loved ones.
"Hang in there, YN. It's my turn to get you out of your misery" Chaeyoung confidently said to herself as she quickened her pace of walking.
She has found you in the middle of your unfair fate, and all that she needs to do is lead you the way and take you as your sign of escape.
------------------------
The harassment complaint that Chaeyoung has filed against the male cop was approved as the final decision despite its attempts to reverse the suspect's blame and disguise himself as non-accountable.
It wouldn't be successful if it weren't for YN's voluntary act to state everything she witnessed during that scenario. The proof was strengthened when Chaeyoung's friend, Officer Lee Youngji, joined YN's goal to save and make Chaeyoung's side represent herself as the victim.
In punishment, the cop was stripped of his badge and position and fired. The chief made one last reminder and advice to everyone that they won't tolerate this shameful and disgusting act, and if they caught anybody, they better report it immediately for it to be discussed.
Chaeyoung thanked YN and Youngji for their assistance. The desire of hers to hug YN just like she did to Youngji is strong, yet unfortunately, she has to cover it up to make herself less suspicious.
In a gesture of gratitude, she only patted YN's shoulder and shook hands with her.
A few months later, Chaeyoung and YN both confirmed on their own that they are falling in love mutually, but with the same issue, neither has made the first move yet.
They both know that it's illegal for a cop and a person deprived of liberty to be in a relationship with each other inside the prison, as stated in the rules.
They were keeping it disclosed to the others so nobody could identify it and possibly report it to the higher-ups, so YN and Chaeyoung have no other choice but to hide their feelings and act like nothing's been going on between them.
It was hard when they always saw each other with their hearts shouting for one another's name, but for the sake of their safety, Chaeyoung and YN would do it all so none would face the consequences that would put them in a tough situation.
Aside from that, YN was baffled when she received another notification that she got a visit from someone after months of last seeing her brother.
She was unsure whether they changed their minds or if it was a different person this time who managed to pay a visit for her.
Entering the visitation booth, she was stunned to see a familiar person who appeared in her sight.
"YN!"
"C-Chaewon?!" She said in disbelief.
Rushing through the chair, she took a chair and sat in front of her bestfriend who just returned from abroad.
"OMO... W-WHAT HAPPENED? I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BE SEEING YOU AGAIN BUT IN A WRONG PLACE?!" Chaewon exclaimed. "Why are you in jail?"
"Chaewon..." YN began to cry, she placed her hand on the glass in which Chaewon placed hers directly into the reflection.
"Take it slow, you have the time." Chaewon comforts her poor friend, frowning at the sight of her being devastated.
"T-they didn't took you away from me, right?"
"Huh? Wh-what? Who's they?"
YN pauses as she sniffs at her tears. "Mom, dad, or my brother. Did any of them tell you anything wrong about me?"
"I-I mean, they told me that you committed arson when I tried to meet them after I couldn't meet you at your house. I went here to confirm it straight at you, YN. My guts are telling me not to believe them immediately."
"No, don't! Just don't listen to whatever they say, Chaewon. Please."
"I didn't, don't worry. I know you aren't capable of doing that. You're not the YN I know that they believe you to be today." Chaewon relaxes her. YN was at least uplifted that a miracle just unexpectedly came to her, something she never knew would happen.
There was still at least one special person out there of hers who never lost their trust and loyalty for her, and it was stupid for her at the same time to not show the same positivity as her best friend.
"Just tell me, specifically. It might be not everything, just... give me atleast idea of what happened to you and why I have to witness my friend locked up behind bars."
YN sighed and wiped off the remaining wet stains around her face. "I-I feel like somebody framed me up, Chae."
Chaewon also perceives the same thought but she kept on listening. ""I didn't burn a property, Chaewon. I swear, but the evidences that were attained to the crime scene were all connected at mine. And I do admit, those are my belongings but I don't know how it just magically appeared there."
"So you mean, there's somebody out there who did it in actual but it uses it to cover her violation?"
"Yeah."
"And who do you might think it'll be?" Chaewon wondered. "Did you have any altercations with somebody?"
"No, I didn't."
"Whoever did that to you must've held a huge amount of pent-up anger and hatred; that's why they chose that idea to get back at you" Chaewon explained. "That could be the reason for you to request revisiting your case. Do you have plans to?"
"I was... but I lost hope when I thought nobody would ever help me get out of here."
"I'm both sorry and glad to hear you like that, but what matters now is that I'm here to take back my friend."
YN's eyes widened as Chaewon announced that without hesitation.
"Let's file a request with the court, YN. It's not too late for you to flip the tables around and retrieve your justice back."
As they ended their bittersweet reunion, YN emotionally bid goodbye to Chaewon for today before she returns to the hallway.
Chaeyoung pitifully smiled at her. "How did it go?"
"I still have a chance, officer, YN stuttered as she tried to control her tears from escaping again. Chaeyoung was astounded to hear a positive note from YN about herself for once.
"What do you mean?"
"My friend from the States came back to see me, and she wants us to file a request with the judge to reinvestigate the case."
Chaeyoung was delighted at the news brought by that friend of hers. She got curious about who that might be. Her feelings had no involvement with this; it was just the perfect timing for her to propose her plan.
"Great for you! I hope this time, it's you who will win the fight you never wanted to be in."
YN smiled and nodded before she walked away. Chaeyoung felt refreshed; it had been a long time coming to see her full of bloomy mood, and she wished it wouldn't stop immediately because YN... is her source of energy for working every day.
As she disappeared to the distance, Chaeyoung enters the other side of the booth and requests to the guard to hand her the logbook.
She searched through the recent notes and there, she got what she wanted to find.
"Kim Chaewon...." Chaeyoung muttered as she saved her contact number on her phone.
-------------------------------
"Are you Officer Son Chaeyoung?"
A woman who is almost the same height as her, sporting a short black hair with bangs, striped t-shirt, cargo pants, and sneakers emerged beside her as she carefully peeked at Chaeyoung who is sitting comfortably outside of a cafe.
"And you are Miss Kim Chaewon, right?"
"Yes." They bowed at each other for respect before they also exchanged greetings to each other.
"How did you get my number, if I may ask?"
"The logbook you signed in when you met YN/LN." She clarified. "She's your friend, right?"
"Yes, officer."
"Just call me Chaeyoung. No need to be formal."
"Oh uhm... yes. YN's my friend since we were in high school."
"Okay." Chaeyoung nodded. "You're the perfect person would could take my favor easily." "Uhm, why did you brought me here and meet you up? I'm curious."
"I know that you want your friend to get out of prison, so is YN and...
I am too."
"Y-you?"
Chaeyoung nodded. "Yes. YN has turned out to be my friend there. She has done so many nice things for me, and I'm here to return it all back, and I need your help just as you need mine."
Chaewon stayed silent; she only narrowed her eyes when she spotted a bit of an intriguing word that Chaeyoung used there.
"YN told me that she's going to continue insuing a request for motion to reinstate to the judge, and I support her for that. I couldn't help her for that because I have to remain anonymous or else I'm done" Chaeyoung elaborated.
"But, I could help her by providing the best of the detectives who can help her revisit and investigate the case again, which will eventually grant her a non-guilty decision. All I need to know is... do you accept my offer?"
Chaewon bit her lip as she processed it in her mind. Chaeyoung has effectively presented herself as a useful ally here who sets up a deal with her on her agenda to help YN reward her freedom.
Without showing any pride or doubts about the mentioned proposal, Chaewon spoke out shortly enough to prevent the officer from wasting more time.
"I accept."
-----------------------------
The judge approved, and the reinvestigation went smoothly with the help of Chaeyoung's friends she recommended from the police district in her hometown, Detective Kim Dahyun and Detective Chou Tzuyu.
Every detail that they collected was being updated to Chaeyoung so that she could tell YN, who can cooperate by helping the team expand and clear all the confusion that might be a barrier to their progress.
On the final day of the trial, Chaewon was about to enter the waiting room with cups of coffee in her hand when she captured Chaeyoung peeking at the door.
Intrigued by what she's watching, she found out that her eyes are locked on YN, who is silently praying near the window.
She slowly poked the officer's shoulder to avoid her being startled and cause the inmate to halt her prayer.
"How long have you been watching her?"
"N-not that long." Chaeyoung swallowed, side-eyeing in a glimpse of shame in her part.
"Hmm. Okay." Chaewon nodded, pursing her lower lip.
They both continue to monitor YN who is now viewing the scenery outside.
"You're doing this for her, but not only because of what you told me, do you?" Chaewon said from behind. Chaeyoung glances to the right where she easily heard it.
"How c-could you tell?
"I'm a psychiatrist actually. I'm on my vacation for 3 months here in South Korea that's why i'm here... temporarily." Chaewon revealed. "So yeah, I could depict whether a person is lying or not. I suppose your mannerism is twitching your upper lip when you do."
Chaeyoung opened her wide widely as she turned around and looked at Chaewon in shock. The latter just grinned and shrugged.
"Looks like I hit the bullseye with that."
"Don't tell her please." Chaeyoung bowed her head.
"I won't, but why?"
"I'm about to tell her myself, but I'll do it on the right time. I'm prepared, but I much prefer to do it at any place where we both can feel that we're free from anything. Away from a bunch of judgmental and rude people. Where nothing could hold me back from saying that I love her too."
A few hours later, the trial has reached its conclusion, but with a breathtaking twist for anyone who is present in the court.
Just as the judge declared the win for YN's side, implying a non-guilty order for her, the two detective buddies of Chaeyoung arrived at the scene to make a shocking statement.
It was found out through a series of tests that the new fingerprints, footprints, and cctv footage they gathered, which were absent from the previous investigation, all pointed to the sole person that Dahyun and Chaeyoung forcefully brought with them to show anybody that the accused is indeed innocent.
It was none other than YN's stepbrother, LN In-soo, who plotted and performed the crime against her.
He was about to sneakily escape the country when the team chased him all away to the Incheon International Airport when the experiments that were conducted from him matched positive to what they received in the materials he used on burning the said establishment.
Instead of being completely happy that she can now walk out of prison, it was mixed with devastation and anger that the only man she considered special in her life would be able to do this to her unmatched to how she looked up at him throughout their childhood days.
"I TREATED YOU LIKE MY REAL BROTHER! WHY DID YOU, MOM AND DAD INCLUDED ME TO BE PART OF THE FAMILY! JUST SO YOU CAN EMOTIONALLY ABUSE ME MORE THAN WHAT I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH WHEN I WAS ABANDONED BY MY PARENTS?!" YN shouts and tugs the shirt aggressively at her brother who is the real criminal and the mastermind of one of the worst happenings existed in her life while the guards tried to seperate them apart from each other.
Based from the interview, they have learned that Insoo did it so that he can get rid of her stepsister for good. He never wanted a sibling to be a girl, but he had no choice before but to get along with his parent's plan to let YN in their family so that they could make their grandparents proud that they had finally found a granddaughter to cherish.
That's why when YN entered in their life, Insoo felt like everything has been disrupted for him, starting from his grandparent's attention, the priorities, and the popularity among others who knew about their family's background.
So he came up with a plan that perfectly describes his cold-hearted personality with a cruel intention... and that is to destroy YN and reclaim everything he lost. He was the man behind the hooded and tracksuit wearing figure caught in the camera invading the front of YN's house from the hidden smart cam in one of the houses in the neighborhood.
Unfortunately for him, karma always prevails in the end and that led him to replace the spot intended for him to receive in the first place, not by his innocent step-sister who did nothing wrong with him or even dared to try it.
Meanwhile at the prison camp, YN has finally said her goodbyes to all of the inmates she had gotten close to, including Officer Youngji and Detective Dahyun and Tzuyu.
She had one last person to see which she saved because she always thought that she is the best amongst everyone.
Chaeyoung was sipping on her coffee as she reviews all the punishment of the newly arrived inmates when she saw YN walking towards her, now wearing a civilian attire with a backpack behind her.
She didn't forgot that it would her release today, she just wants to distract herself from thinking about it because she couldn't help but to sad not seeing her frequently around here anymore but still, she's happy that she finally made YN get the fate she deserved to have.
"Officer Son", YN called her.
"What happened with our agreement that we shouldn't be formal with each other?"
"Sorry, but I just want to call you that one last time for me to say my farewell properly as your inmate." She chuckled, rubbing her nape shyly. Chaeyoung grinned at how cute she was.
"Goodbye, Officer Son." She bowed in front of her. Chaeyoung hesitantly did the same, as her smile was about to shrink, but not until YN followed up with one more thing to say.
"But... as for you, Son Chaeyoung, the one whom I met as my best friend in this crowded, unreal place, I have to tell you something that is much better than saying goodbye."
She reached for her hand and squeezed it. Chaeyoung just had the biggest blush and the fastest heartbeat she ever had in her lifetime.
"I'm in love with you. It sounds cliche, but I meant it with all my heart. You were the first one who kept me calm and fought through all my negative insights just to shed some light of positivity for me to realize that it's not over for me yet. As long as I'm living, there is no end until time says so, and I thank you for making me realize it again without denial. You gave me hope and chances I thought I would never get when I went through this state that I thought I lost everything meaningful in my life... but then it all changed when I met you. My life was all dark until you showed up, and it was all yellow because you gave it color."
Chaeyoung cried at YN's heartfelt and sincere message. She gripped her hand more, and she cuddled it near her face, allowing YN to help her wipe off her tears.
"Don't cry. I didn't say goodbye to you, Chaeyoung, because I knew this wasn't the last time we'd meet again."
She pinched her cheek before she started to twirl her body around and walk away from Chaeyoung, who was left blossoming and touched by the confession she had been waiting to hear.
MORE THAN A WEEK LATER
YN parked her car and greeted the guards before she entered the facility.
Bringing the gifts with her, she enthusiastically walked to the help desk to state her concern.
"Good morning, I'm here to visit Officer Son Chaeyoung, please."
"Oh, uhm... you're looking for Officer Son?"
"Yes. Is she here?"
"But... maam, she left the camp last week." The policewoman said. YN was surprised at the news.
"Wait, what? T-then may I know where is she stationed now?"
"No, maam. She wasn't moved. As far as I know, she resigned from her position."
YN's mind went blank as she became clueless on where she could find Chaeyoung and return to her as what she was aiming to do once she got released, with the problem being that she didn't get to save her phone number before she left.
Back at the new house where she's currently residing and start a new life being away from the reputation of her family, acquiring a new surname for her to use legally.
She went inside, and it was still the same; everyone was preparing for the party they organized for today.
"You're back! And... what's with the pout, bestie?" Chaewon asked Chaeyoung, pointing at her with a pack of spaghetti noddles she's holding.
"I didn't get to see her, Chaeyoung said lamely. "She wasn't working at the camp anymore."
"Ahhhh... okay." Chaewon nodded, looking uninterested at Chaeyoung's reveal. "Anyways, get some rest, and we'll be about to start soon." She quickly rushed to the kitchen.
"What's up with her? Does she care about me getting sad that Chaeyoung's not around anymore after all she has done for me?" YN muttered at herself before she slumped her body on the couch.
Half an hour later, the celebration for YN's new home began. Chaewon's family joined, and even Detective Dahyun, Detective Tzuyu, and Officer Youngji paid a surprise visit to check on YN and enjoy time with her.
YN appreciated their presence but the thought of missing Chaeyoung still couldn't make her be in ease.
She approached Dahyun, Tzuyu, and Youngji wjo are now eating their respective foods in one table.
"Uhh hey guys, I just want to ask if have you guys know where Chaeyoung lives?"
"Yeah, we do." Dahyun said. "Why?"
"I want to visit her. I went to the camp earlier and I just found out that she wasn't working there anymore so I'm just curious and concerned for her, you know." YN explained. "Can I get her address?"
"No, why should we?"
"Pardon?"
"Why should we give it to you? So you can waste your time finding her?" Youngji answered.
"Huh? Ummm guys, I don't know why you guys are acting weird too li-"
"Shush it, YN. Let us finish, okay?" Tzuyu interrupted. That effectively made YN quiet as she observed the strange acts of her friends. "Again, why should we tell you her address and let you waste your time looking for her when you can even meet yourself right here today?"
They all pursed their lips in one direction. YN furrowed her eyebrow before she turned around and followed what they were referring to.
Her eyes landed on the familiar figure standing meters away from her at the gate. It slowly walked straight towards her, which was then followed by her own footsteps.
They did it until they shrank their gap, where they can now see their faces closer and more visible to admire.
"Looking for me?" Chaeyoung smirked, her hand hands behind her back and stared deeply at the gasping YN who is seeing her in a different new look. "I'm sorry if i'm a bit late. I had to try some clothes in my closet."
She was wearing a red dress, black heels and a new short haircut which she stylized it with blonde color, looking even much mesmerizing than her being in her police uniform.
"Chaeyoung." YN breathily said. "I-It's fine, you picked the right choice and it looks perfect on you."
"Hi." She grinned brightly.
"I-It's fine, you picked the right choice and it looks perfect on you."
"I'm sorry too if didn't gave up an update about what happened to me. Well, I wanted to make my surprise live up to its term."
YN understood it. "Can you tell me now?"
"Ofcourse. If you are thinking about the possibility of it, then you are correct. I was resigned from my job."
"Why?
"I made a violation and the chief discovered it when somebody went to report at her that caught me involving myself in Dahyun and Tzuyu's investigation without permission. She gave me 2 months of suspension in return."
"B-but the helper said you were fired?"
"No, I didn't. Nobody except those three in the back knew about exactly what happened." Chaeyoung clarified.
"You only got suspended though, so why did you resigned?"
"I already achieved my dream, and 10 years of service was enough for me to step out. I just had another new dream to live on, so I sacrificed one for it."
Chaeyoung grabbed both of her hands and watched their own pairs lock into one another's touch satisfyingly. "I said before to myself that I would only do it when both of us are now free from anything.
Where nothing... can hold me back from telling you that I love you."
Chaeyoung held YN's back of her head and pulled it closer for her to press their lips together for a much-awaited kiss. All of their friends cheered at the back as they watched this happy ending that they were all anticipating.
"For the first time in my life, I had to let my heart choose itself what lies ahead of me, and I finally did it. I thought you'll be just like one of them who only cares about 'what' I am but never at 'who' I am but instead you turned out to be someone who made me feel how valuable I am by cherishing how small things I've done could mean a lot already to you even though I knew I could've done better. I got what I'm finding for, and it was something just like this, YN." Chaeyoung softly said, her hands sliding up and down on YN's shoulders. "I told you, I never fully regret what happened to me, because if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't be able to meet the person who was ready to risk and join me wherever she wants to go. If that's what you desire... then I wouldn't mind follow you along, Chae." YN said heartfully. "Let's continue to make hopes and enter opportunities for the future together."
They both kissed passionately again with their own initiative, as it lasted a little longer than the previous.
Breaking their moment for a while, they nodded and grinned before deciding to return to their friends and join them celebrate this special day they're having.

You’ve been burning documents all night. Shredding leaves something behind, you need to leave only ashes.
You’ve gone through all of your personal finances getting new identities for your henchmen and sending them off to far off remote corners of the world where no one will be looking for them.
Last week you filled your old lair with concrete. Not just sealed up but flooded. There’s no way any living thing could ever get into or out of your lair now. Wall to wall, floor to ceiling, top to bottom. It’s concrete.
Not even your spouse could get in there.
You’ve been breaking into every conceivable government record keeping offices. You’ve grabbed every scrap of paper with anything that could possibly connect you to your other self. It all had to burn.
There’s no telling what your spouse would do if they found out. You only found out by accident.
And now things are rough.
You come to the last thing to really tie you to your other self: your costume.
Your symbol of the life you chose. The life you’ve led for years and years. Before you even met your spouse, in either capacity.
With your costume in your hands it’s like looking into a mirror in some ways.
“Boss,” came a sudden voice, thick and accented.
You weren’t surprised. You felt him coming from blocks away.
“Bob. You’re supposed to be a different hemisphere by now,” you say without looking up.
“I changed my flight,” he said simply. “I wanted to talk to you first. You sure you want to retire? If that is the case then it is fine. Everyone must retire at some time. But if you are doing this because you are… forced into a corner. Then I ask you to reconsider.”
“Bob, Bob, Bob,” you say with a sigh. “This is bigger than me, you, the work. This is something… catastrophic. I can stop it, but only if this part of me is dead, buried, and locked away in an inescapable tomb.”
You can tell Bob is nodding as you speak. You can tell he’s going to speak. You think you know what he is going to say. You were wrong.
“Then as I go I will say something that you said to me many years ago. No other person is worth you destroying yourself for. If they make you change that is abuse plain and simple. If they make it so there is no other option but to destroy yourself to keep them happy, to keep them from destroying everything and everyone you hold dear. That’s still abuse.”
“Bob…”
“I know boss. You need anything you call. We’ll come back for you. I just want you to know that we’re here for you. Ain’t no hero nor villain that can step to us.”
He’s gone and you’re still looking at your costume. It has changed over the years. The decades. You started off with sweatshirts and jeans and balaclavas. You’ve grown and your skills grew and your powers grew with you. Your costume was as much of an evolution of yourself as you are.
Your spouse is powerful. Truly powerful. The kind of power that scares even you.
You’ve been trying to separate them at home and them at work, but as you stare at your costume you realize that to make them separate people is a fallacy. They are the same person. They are one thing at the end of the day. One person, different facets.
You pull out your phone.
“Bob. I’m going to need some support. I’m going to confront my spouse.”
“Do not worry we will be there.”
“We?”
“No one left the city.”
“If we live through this I’m going to have to have a long discussion about what orders you choose to follow.”
(If you liked this I have a kofi)
You are the most dangerous supervillain and have been happily married to the world’s greatest hero for years. You’ve found out your spouse’s secret identity and are desperate to hide the truth from them for life because you fear they may end the world if they found out.

Skyline Gang: Fears (Dude)
1shot stories list: click HERE
Fears Summary: click HERE
Sorry this one took a while. I had a small burnout so most of this story might not be that great.
This is the final segment for “Fears” and one of the preferences originally requested by one of my followers on Wattpad.
This is technically a sequel to Sprout’s fear as there is some continuity here. I just literally didn’t know how else to start this short story off.
“Why are we doing this again?” Misty asked bitterly, dust falling on her hair.
“Just need to clear some space.” Dude said with an eye roll. He had explained this more than once already. He’s convinced that she was doing this just to wind him up. Well he’s not taking the bait. Not after her most recent stunt. “Not to mention, you’re still grounded, Misty.”
“Misty, I get. But why me?” Sprout asked, his head popping out from behind a pile of boxes that he was behind.
“Because you were lazing around. Not to mention you were the only other person that I could grab in the house.” Dude sighed, also convinced that Sprout was trying to lure him into a separate windup. Wanting to avoid it, he picked up a hefty box after inspecting the contents. “Now shake a leg, you two. The faster we get this done, the sooner you can both get back to whatever it was that you were doing.”
The two complainers actually (and rather creepily) sighed in unison as they felt defeated. This wasn’t what they had planned this morning. After doing their morning routine in the Skyline, they were going to do what they originally planned: Misty was going to plot her revenge on Dude for her punishment for scaring Sprout, and meanwhile Sprout had planned to just laze around like Dude had accused him of doing. That was until Dude seemingly came out of nowhere and dragged them up to the attic. It was cluttered and needed a desperate clearing out. After all, the first and last time they attempted to clear it, was the day that Misty was accidentally created by Candi. That was several months ago. Better make a start while they had the time.
Honestly, Dude didn’t want Sprout near Misty this soon, but he didn’t feel like he had much choice. So long as he was keeping an eye on the pair, he hoped that nothing serious would happen. The least that could happen was them having an arguement that he could break up before it gets worse. They both thankfully kept their distance with Sprout on one side, Misty on the other and Dude right in the middle of this space. Keeping that in mind, Dude opened up another box to inspect the contents. Keep, donate or throw away? It all depends on the contents.
Up until then, neither Misty nor Sprout had been paying attention to what he was doing. Sprout was more focused on staying as far away from her as possible, whether she had a surprise spider on her or not. In all honesty, he considered it to a be a miracle that he hadn’t found a real life one yet. And Misty was far too wrapped up in her revenge planning, that she’s pretty much stopped working at this point and just braced herself for when Dude noticed her lack of work. They were brought back to earth when they heard Dude let out an exclamation of shock as he leaped back from the offending box.
That’s new. Dude doesn’t get scared that much.
“You okay Dude? You suddenly got jumpy like a kangaroo.” Sprout asked as he and Misty both approached the boy in question.
“Masks.“ Dude sighed, reaching into the box. He grabbed ahold of one of the said objects and pulled out a ferocious werewolf mask. “They made me jump a little.” Sprout and Misty looked inside the box too. So many masks! Animals, monsters, masks to slip on a face, masks to pull onto the head and even masquerade masks. Looking at a couple of them, especially the monster masks, it made sense for Dude to jump out of his skin.
“Do we even need all of these?” Misty asked, cautiously picking up a mask of a tiger.
“Maybe. But it’s worth checking their conditions, just in case any need to be thrown away.” Dude said, scratching his head. He placed the werewolf mask back in the box along with Misty tossing the tiger mask back into the box carelessly. Dude picked up the box without saying a word and took it away. Then an idea sparked inside Misty’s head. She had already planned her revenge. Now all she needs is an accomplice to pull it off.
And she had a feeling that she had the perfect one standing right next to her.
“You think he’s scared of masks?” Misty dropped her voice into a whisper. If Sprout is much of a slacker as she can be, then she had an inkling that he might want to pull a small revenge prank too.
“I don’t think so.” Sprout responded, unsure if he should answer any differently. He didn’t trust Misty as far as he could throw her after the spider incident. However, Dude was up here with him, so if Misty tried to pull another stunt, he’ll have some help.
“He did say that they’d made him jump.” Misty smirked. Come on. Take the bait. Take the hint.
“And he did say that we should check the condition of them.” Added Sprout, a childish glint shining in his eyes. Got him!
“You thinking what I’m thinking?” Misty continued to smirk.
“I hate to say it, but yes.” Sprout grinned a little before he faltered a little. “I hope.” His doubts didn’t matter. He’s in this now whether he liked it or not.
“Hey, you two.” Dude suddenly announced, approaching the pair. Sprout and Misty stood up straight, their mischievous looks were wiped away. “I’m glad that you’re suddenly getting along, but you need to keep working.”
“We will!” Sprout and Misty declared, splitting up to their original spots in the attic. Dude watched them back and forth for a second. That was…strange. One minute neither of them wanted to speak to each other. Then all of a sudden they were whispering something to each other. Maybe they were reconciling or agreeing on something? For once. Dude shook his head. So long as they don’t do anything stupid, everything should be fine.
Misty looked back at Dude quickly. He went back to looking at something else, not asking her nor Sprout anything else. She turned back to looking at a box in front of her, pretending to look inside it as she grinned devilishly.
The blue idiot didn’t suspect a thing! This revenge is going to be perfect!
She just needs to get hold of Sprout again when Sports Boy wasn’t hanging around to keep an eye on her. Will this extend her grounding? Probably. Will Dude keep hold of her spiders longer than he planned? Most likely. However, this revenge will be worth it.
———————————————————————————
“Dude?”
Dude suddenly got wide awake. His body sprung up in shock for the sudden contact on his shoulder. He almost fell back in the chair that he was sitting. It would’ve happened if someone didn’t hold him still.
“What? What’s going on?” He asked automatically, looking around feverishly. Mimi was standing beside him, holding his chair still. She was the one who woke him up.
“Are you okay?” Mimi asked, taking everything in. She went looking for Dude, and found him slumped over his desk. Papers were in front of him, and a pen had slipped away from his hand from when he fell asleep. Was he doing some paperwork or something?
“Yeah. I must have dozed off.” Dude muttered, rubbing sleep out of his eyes. When did he fall asleep? And what was the time? He quickly checked the time on his phone. 3:36. He started looking at the paperwork at near 3pm. He probably slept halfway through. When he looked back up at Mimi, she looked concerned. Oh no. Did something happen? “What?”
“You’re shaking, Dude.” Mimi observed. Dude raised an eyebrow before putting down his phone. He laid out his hands flat and noticed a small tremor in them with a bit of surprise. “Please don’t tell me that you’ve been overworking yourself again.”
“No, I’ve been taking it easy. Well as easy as I can.” Dude sighed, giving a small shrug. He tried to think of something that could cause this sudden tiredness other than overworking. However, he couldn’t only think of one thing. “I just didn’t get a good sleep last night.”
“How come?” Mimi asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Just couldn’t settle. It happens.” Dude shrugged, pushing his chair back from the desk. He groaned as he stood up, a strain being felt in his back. “And now I’m paying the price with my back.” She didn’t know if it was meant to be humorous or not, but Mimi let out a small chuckle as Dude stretched his back. “Did you need me for something?”
“Just for you to socialise a bit.” Mimi smiled kindly. “Why don’t you take a break.” That wasn’t really an offer. More like an order, an instruction. To be honest, even if it was an offer, Dude wouldn’t argue against it.
“A break does sound good. Thanks, Mi.” He smiled a little, his back now feeling less sore. Should he really even call it a break? Technically he’s already taken one. Oh well, that didn’t matter, he can have a proper one. Mimi happened to spy on the desk as he loosened up his muscles. Only a couple of documents that he needed to read over before signing. Guess he was telling the truth about not overworking. So long as it doesn’t pile up, he should be fine. Everything seemed alright. At least Dude can stop for a few minutes. He’s been such a workaholic all day that it was a miracle that he’s stopped to eat lunch earlier today.
As Dude entered the den with Mimi behind him, he spotted almost everyone being there. The first person he spotted was Misty on the two person sofa. She had her feet up, blocking anyone else from sitting down next to her. Dude didn’t want to, but he still felt the need to keep an eye on her.
“Misty, put your feet down, please.” He calmly ordered. Misty rolled her eyes but complied with it. Mimi took her spot with Pip and Candi. All three girls continued to have their gossip from before Mimi left to look for Dude. Bud was sitting by the coffee table as he upgraded his tablet. Rainbow was lying down beside him, his head being absentmindedly stroked. Sprout was nowhere to be seen. Maybe he’s taking a nap? Again. At least everything seemed peaceful right now.
“By the way, Dude, what are you most afraid of?” Misty suddenly asked.
“Why?” Dude asked back. He had a bad feeling about this. He honestly suspected that Misty might be planning something. It wouldn’t surprise him if she wanted to scare him as some kind of revenge for making her working in the attic today.
“Just curious.” Misty smirked.
“There’s very little that scares me.” Dude sighed. Don’t fall into the trap. Stall her. Maybe trick her into thinking that something else scares him.
“Other than witch doctors?” Misty continued to smirk, faking a surprised reaction. Dude rolled his eyes a little. He’s not afraid of witch doctors. He just gets a bit jumpy around them. “Like what?”
“Like-” Dude was ready to give a quick quip. Just anything to get Misty to back off.
“CAW! CAW!”
Dude turned around at the noise, and was met with what looked like a beak and feathers. At that instant, he suddenly flew into a panic. He let out an uncharacteristically loud, high pitched scream and his body sprung off the sofa. His actions and voice were so sudden that everyone but Misty jumped. He even scared Rainbow, causing the poor dog to leap out of the room. As everyone started looking at the source of the panic, Misty started cackling in delight. And much to everyone’s shock, so was Sprout. It turned out that it was him that scared Dude. He was wearing a mask of what appeared to be a black coloured bird, like a crow or a raven. He had collected it from the box that Dude had uncovered in the attic. He could’ve gone with a monster, but he wasn’t that mean. He’s not that much like Misty in this instance. So he thought that an animal one shouldn’t cause too much trouble. Still though, he wasn’t expecting that kind of reaction.
“You screamed like a little girl!” Sprout wheezed out between his laughter, holding his stomach.
“That’s not funny Sprout!” Candi scolded, appalled by her brother’s behaviour. She wasn’t the only one disappointed by him. Aside from Misty, nobody found the whole jump-scare funny.
“I recorded it! That was brilliant!” Misty cackled, holding up her phone. How was she able to hide that with Dude sitting next to her?
“They actually worked together?” Bud asked, desperately shaking off the shock.
“Uh oh! Lethal combination!” Pip muttered, unimpressed herself by this sudden development. She was even a little bit scared. Mimi rolled her eyes. She had a feeling that both Misty and Sprout would get a scolding from Dude about this prank. However, just as she thought that, she gazed over at where Dude had leapt to. And her heart stopped.
“Dude?” She gasped, standing up in an instant. The laughter froze as she spoke. All eyes fell on Dude. He was quite literally almost completely frozen in fright. He had curled up into a ball as if he was trying to make himself as small as possible. His eyes were unfocused, staring at nothing in particular. Sweat dripped from his unreadable face as his body trembled. His breathing was irregular, short bursts of breath so fast that his vision started to blur. His face was a ghostly pale shade, his blood running cold. Nearly everyone became scared themselves. Pip and Candi stood up as Bud stumbled to his feet thanks to the pins and needles in them. Sprout fidgeted nervously. He expected to give Dude a fright. But just something to make him jump, him screaming was a small bonus. However, he didn’t want this. Misty was indifferent. She just had her arms crossed and even rolled her eyes a little. Dude was just playing around. Any second now, he’ll be laughing and saying something like “gotcha”.
“Rainbow, here boy!” Bud called out, seemingly to be the only one with a cool head. Rainbow had scampered off thanks to Sprout and Misty’s prank, but hopefully he’ll come back. And he had better. Bud didn’t see another way to help calm the situation. If Dude doesn’t start calming down and getting his breathing steady, there’s a possibility that he’ll put himself in more trouble. Rainbow hesitantly poked his head in. He perked up immediately when he saw the problem. Carefully and as quietly as he could, he walked up to Dude. He let out a quiet whine. He had a feeling that if Dude didn’t notice him approaching, he might get scared if the large dog suddenly touched him without a warning. No reaction. If anything, Dude’s breathing became worse, as if he was suffocating.
“He’s not calming down…” Candi whimpered, taking a step forward.
“Give him a minute.” Pip spoke up, gently pulling the pink girl back. The last thing Dude needed was suddenly touching him while he was having a panic attack. Rainbow remained as patient as always. He let out another whine. This time the noise seemed to have caught Dude’s attention. His body flinched from the sound, his head snapping up as if it was jerked upwards by a string. His eyes were still glossy. Is he trying to remember where he is? And who is with him?
A shaky hand rose, reaching out. Rainbow brought himself forward, making contact with the limb that stretched out for him. The air was wracked with tension, but now it appeared to start calming down. Once Dude made contact with Rainbow’s fur, his heart started slowing down, no longer thumping in his ears. His stomach became more settled, no longer having the urge to throw up. Almost like a child, he carefully latched onto Rainbow, almost burying his face into the orange fur.
“Dude, it’s okay.” Mimi whispered, taking careful steps towards Dude. No one stopped her; Dude appeared to be in a safer position to have someone approach him. When she sat down next to him, he didn’t push her away. Same thing for when she placed a hand on his back. A small but noticeable flinch, nothing more. Pip and Candi exchanged a look before splitting off to different parts of the house. One to the kitchen, the other to an airing cupboard. That left Bud in charge. He monitored Dude’s heart rate through an app on his smartwatch. It was still racing, but thankfully started to show signs of slowing down. Hugging Rainbow appeared to have significant effects. The canine in question carefully laid down, allowing Dude to almost drape over him as he was being hugged. Pip came back, holding a cool glass of water. At the same time Candi also returned, carrying a blue blanket.
“Misty, delete the video.” Bud said sternly.
“Seriously? Dude’s just being a big baby. He’s fine.” Misty rolled her eyes. She briefly wondered how many hits she’ll get on social media for this video. It would certainly make Dude a laughing stock.
“Now! Misty!” Bud shouted, reaching a rare point for him to lose his temper. Is this what it feels like when telling Misty off? How can Dude stand it? Well it was more than enough to get Misty to comply. She wasn’t happy about it, but she had a feeling that she’d be in more trouble if she didn’t. Sprout kept his mouth shut. He didn’t want to make this any worse by saying his excuses. For a long time, no one moved too much nor spoke. It was like time had slowed down completely from how quiet the room was. The only obvious sound was Dude breathing heavily. The air felt hot and cold at the same time from the anticipation. Hearts were beating together in unison, with Dude’s being the only one that was slightly offbeat.
Finally, Dude shifted from his awkward lying position. His moments were slow as he pushed himself off of Rainbow. Candi resisted the urge to rush forward. With small ballerina like steps, she tip toed to Dude. She held out the blanket, which Mimi carefully took. Once she wrapped it around his shoulders like a cloak, he looked dazed again. He watched her for a moment before recognition dawned over him. Memories of where he is and what had happened slowly came back to him.
“I’m alright…” he spoke up, his voice so quiet that everyone barely picked up on it.
“Are you sure?” Bud asked, his voice as level headed as possible. He watched his smartwatch for a few more seconds. Heart rate has returned to normal. In terms of the heart, Dude was out of the danger zone.
“Just…” Dude muttered, holding the blanket around him. He couldn’t bring himself to say more. He just felt too tired. As Mimi rubbed his tense back, he couldn’t help but lean into the soothing touch. When Pip offered out the glass of water, he took slow sips from it. Just stay calm. Get it together. Just anything to not get into another panic like that. The last time he was like that was when he was a kid.
“I didn’t think that I would frighten him that much…it’s just a mask…” Sprout said, apologetically. Guilt ate away at his insides as he gazed down at the mask. It wasn’t like it was a monster themed mask; in theory, it shouldn’t have terrified Dude that much.
“Sprout, it’s not masks that I’m afraid of.” Dude confessed, his voice still quiet. He took another deep breath, more shame washing over him as he could no longer look at anyone in the room. “It’s birds.”
———————————————————————————
Once he had calmed down more, Dude took himself off to the basketball court. He didn’t tell anyone, but he had a feeling that if they wanted him, they’d know where to find him. If it’s not the basketball court, it’s the beach and vice versa. It wasn’t really much of a surprise to those that knew him well enough. Just somewhere to clear his mind and distract him from his previous fright. In all honesty, he was surprised that he wanted to go outside. Then again, he believed that he can be a little more calm in the fresh air. Just so long as a bird doesn’t go near him, he should be fine. Some of the others weren’t sure if he’ll be okay outside, but he was able to convince them to leave him be for ten minutes or so. Plus Rainbow pretty much forced himself to go along with Dude just to keep an eye on him. Dude didn’t have a problem with that. He was grateful that his friends cared, but a part of him felt like they shouldn’t have to worry that much about him.
In regard to Misty and Sprout, once he was in a stable enough state, Dude did want them to face some consequences. Misty was very non apologetic. She even had the audacity to ask Bud if he could recover the video that he made her delete. She didn’t think that Dude would make her grounding any worse; having her spiders taken away from her was bad enough. However, he did make it worse for her. He assigned her to help cleaning the toilets in the Skyline, both public and private, for a week. It took everything that everyone had to not burst out laughing at the face that Misty pulled. Sprout got off a little more lightly. He was the only one of the pair that was genuinely sorry and wanted to make things right. He even offered to donate or throw away the bird mask just to give Dude some peace of mind. Dude can honestly say that he’s not angry at Sprout. He had a feeling that Misty coerced Sprout into this prank, and he didn’t even know about Dude’s fear of birds in the first place. However he was still grounded a little; two days of cleaning the garden after Rainbow. He accepted that, he believed that he deserved it after all.
Bounce, bounce, throw!
Dude had aimed. To him it was perfect. Normally, the ball would’ve fallen into the basket. From where he was standing, in any normal game, he would’ve gotten three points. However, instead of getting the points, the ball bounced off the edge of the hoop. Okay, no problem. It happens sometimes. Can’t get it right all the time. Just try to calm down.
Bounce. Bounce. Throw!
Missed again. This time the ball hit the backboard. What’s wrong with him?! Boy he was glad that things have quietened down around the Skyline. The last thing he needed was a random guest to see him mess up this badly. At least Rainbow wasn’t criticising his bad throws.
Deep breath. Stay calm.
Stuff like this happens every now and then. Just get it together.
Try again!
Bounce! Bounce! THROW!
The ball again hit the hoop. The metal rattled harshly, the sound reverberating from the impact. With the angle that it was hit and with how much power Dude put in the throw, the ball ricocheted right back at him. Dude let out a small gasp before he ducked to avoid the projectile. He felt a breeze rush over his head and heard the ball bounce along the ground.
Deep breath. Just calm down.
Okay, maybe there was something wrong…
How much strength did he put into that throw this time?!
It was rare for him to get that frustrated, especially when playing his favourite sport. Maybe he should’ve gone to the beach after all. He can still go. It wasn’t like anything needed his immediate detention other than that paperwork. He can work on that tonight or tomorrow morning. Taking another deep breath, Dude turned around, intending to find the basketball. Instead, he was met with Mimi standing a fair distance from him. She was standing next to Rainbow as if the canine had escorted her to the court, and had the basketball in her hands. Did she see his “temper tantrum”? Great…
Just keep calm. Play it off as if everything is still okay.
“How are you doing?” Mimi asked, staying where she was.
“I’m fine now.” Dude didn’t hesitate in answering. Just stay cool. Play it off as if everything is okay.
“Are you sure?” Mimi asked, completely unconvinced. Yep, she knows. She knows that something is wrong. If she saw that last throw then that was all the proof that she needed.
“Mi, I’m fine. I promise.” Dude sighed, gently taking the basketball back from her hands. Just keep it together. Just don’t have another powerful throw like that. He started walking back to the basket, bouncing the ball in time with his steps. His movements were slow, no longer filled with the enthusiasm that he always displayed with his favourite sport. Not to mention, if Mimi looked carefully enough, she could see that he was still shaking. He’s lying. And the worst thing is that Mimi had an inkling that he knew that she knew about it. Mimi looked down at Rainbow. Rainbow was shaking his head, disappointment practically radiating off of him. Even the dog has picked up on the situation. Mimi took a deep breath.
Just gently edge away at it, get to the bottom of this thing.
“How did it happen? This fear of birds.” Mimi asked. Okay, maybe it wasn’t as gentle as she originally intended. However, if she didn’t start nipping this in the bud, Dude will continue to keep growing weeds in order for her to not reach the truth.
“Does it matter?” Dude asked back, stopping in his tracks.
“Just trying to help.” Mimi reasoned, staying patient. Rainbow let out a desperate whine. Even if Dude can’t see it, he can feel the big eyes that Rainbow was giving him. Silence swept the court now that the ball was no longer bouncing. In all honesty, it was like there was this pressure from opposite sides. One pushing to tell the truth, and the other pushing to keep hiding. Just a battle of will against instincts at this point. It was so fierce that it was ripping Dude to pieces. In the end, one side finally won.
“I was a kid.” Dude started after taking a deep breath. He started walking towards the hoop again, bouncing the ball as an automatic reflex. “Some bullies pushed me over, held me down, covered me in birdseed and then the next thing I knew I was mobbed by pigeons. Had to go to the hospital to get checked out. Been scared ever since. End of story.”
“So every time a bird goes near you, that’s why you try to avoid it or freeze up.” Mimi mused over. She expected this phobia to be from childhood, just not like this. When Dude stopped walking, she started to calmly stride over to him. “Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Didn’t seem important until now.” Dude said, his tone becoming harsh. Not towards Mimi, but to himself. He clenched the basketball so hard in his hands that it was threatening to burst. “Besides, I’m the one that is supposed to protect all of you! I can’t do that if I’m scared of something so stupid!”
Without aiming or any form of warning, Dude threw the ball at the hoop one last time. It hit the backboard a second time. Again, the force was so strong that the board shook from it and the ball was launched back. Thankfully, Dude didn’t need to duck down this time. However, Mimi barely had enough time to catch it. The moment she had it in her hands, she stumbled back a little. Luckily she didn’t fall backwards.
Dude couldn’t believe it. He was honestly horrified upon seeing that. If Mimi hadn’t caught that, she could’ve been hit in the head or worse. He needs to control that throw of his otherwise it could land him in trouble one day. He rushed over to Mimi, ready to apologise and ask if she was alright. However, before he could open his mouth, Mimi placed a finger on his lips. Rainbow watched intently, curiosity peaking inside of him. This could go either way for the two. He only hoped for a very positive outcome. Dude blinked a few times as his eyes shifted back and forth between Mimi’s hand and the fashionista herself. Either she was going to shout at him for being reckless, or she was going to continue to be patient with him. Mimi took a deep breath, as if to compose herself.
“Dude, it’s okay.” She finally said, retracting her finger away from Dude. “We’ve told you before that you don’t have to worry about us so much.”
“Can’t help it. It’s my job to worry.” Dude sighed hopelessly. His eyes landed on the basketball in Mimi’s hands. He reached over to take it back, when Mimi suddenly pulled it away from him. He was a little surprised, feet feeling like they were glued to the ground. Mimi looked between him and the ball before a small, playful smile tugged at his lips.
“Then you’re fired from that position.” She teased, stepping backwards with a small bounce in her steps. Dude wants to play around like that, then two can play at this game.
“Okay, first of all, that’s travelling. That’s an illegal move in basketball.” Dude curtsied but Mimi could hear the change of tone in his voice. The evidence before her shined brighter when she saw a small smile on his face as he launched toward her. “And second, I object!”
“Double fired.” Mimi grinned, sidestepping out of the way as Dude tried to make a grab for the ball.
“I object to infinity and beyond and back.” Dude grinned back, once again lunging at her with the intent on align the ball back. Mimi dodged again. All that dancing on stage for the shows really helped her out.
“And I take that and times my firing of you by a hundred.” She smirked, refusing to back down from this game.
“Let’s stop otherwise we’ll be here all day.” Dude spoke up a little seriously. However, he was still smiling.
“So you give up?” Mimi teased, finally standing still. Dude walked up to her, trying to fight back the smile as best he could. Mimi hoped that he would say yes and let his defences down for a little bit. She hoped that he will allow the help to make him feel better. He got close to her face, causing her cheeks to turn pink.
What’s he doing? Is he going to kiss me?! It would be nice but…what if I’m not ready?!
Mimi was cruelly snapped out of her thoughts when the basketball was plucked away from her hands.
“Nope.” He said bluntly, while carrying a little bit of smugness in his voice. Mimi couldn’t stop herself from pouting. How dare he?! He made her flustered on purpose! Dude slyly grinned as he walked backwards. He felt a little better after that little game of cat and mouse. Maybe he’ll be able to shoot a hoop this time. He spun on his heels, only to nearly crash into something orange.
“Rainbow!” He exclaimed, flinching back from the orange dog. “Geez, warn me next time. I nearly tripped over you.”
“Bird!” Rainbow suddenly whined.
“What?” Dude whimpered. He could feel his blood draining from his face. He looked around Rainbow and his body started to shake again. A pigeon must have taken advantage of the games being away from the basket and decided to scour the ground. Dude wanted to walk away but again his feet had this feeling of being glued to the ground. His voice came out as a whimper, just barely getting the words out. “Rainbow, scare it off, please.”
Request granted! No one, human or animal, scares Rainbow’s humans and gets away with it!
A small growl as a warning. However, the bird didn’t seem to listen. Must have turned its ears off. So Rainbow took the offensive. He let out a huge bark and charged. That did the trick. For the most part. The bird flew away alright, scaring some feathers off of it. However, it was like the animal started to play the blame game, in a way. It changed course and flew right at Dude. He let out a small scream, the basketball being dropped from his hands. He ducked down, avoiding pigeon as it came towards him. Thankfully it changed courses and went the other way as it flew off. It disappeared in the direction it travelled in. Mimi watched it for a moment before turning her attention back to Dude. The poor guy was trembling all over again, just barely able to watch the offending animal himself. Carefully, she stood in front of him in a futile attempt to block his view of where the bird went. His eyes focused on her, his shaking slowly becoming less prominent. Carefully, Mimi got a little closer and wrapped her arms around him to give a hug. Dude, albeit surprised, returned the kind gesture, feeling safer already.
“Thanks, Mimi.” He sighed in content. Mimi gave a small squeeze in response, her cheeks flashing a light shade of pink. Dude’s ears suddenly picked up a sound and he flinched violently. Mimi broke away from the hug and turned around. A flock of pigeons were perched along the fence of the basketball court. The stupid bird actually brought back reinforcements. Birds really must have it out for Dude.
“Okay, let’s get you inside before you have another panic attack.” Mimi hurriedly said, picking up the basketball with one hand and grabbed Dude’s hand with the other. She marched him as fast as she could towards the house, with Dude all too eagerly staying close alongside her. Rainbow barked a warning to the birds to not follow, almost daring them too before he followed his human friends. Hopefully everything will calm down later on.

Website updates:
Check this out!
June & Summer images are now displayed on the Home page and the Events webpage
The Face of RUPYS flyer has been colorized. It was gray before so I wanted to add more color because my brain is full of color so I thought it was lackluster and needed a spark
June activities have been updated
My SnapChat Bitmoji has been changed to reflect attire appropriate for Spring/Summer and I will probably change her again just for Summer which arrives on the 20th – I am wearing glasses this time because sometimes I like to be a little bit more fashionable and chuck the contacts, so you will see that on this Bitmoji
We now have a new logo for RUPYS which displays the RUP like the old one inside of a heart with the crown on top and now you can see the full company name at the bottom of the logo (feel free to let me know what you think). I will still be using the original logo for pageant stuff mostly like flyers, program books, etc.
Pageant Coaching page is finally finished. I revamped the whole program to reflect that you can choose to do Life Coaching alone (4 sessions), Image Consulting alone (4 sessions) or combine the two for 8 sessions – prices have also been changed so you will notice that on the webpage. If you want to do a consultation/discovery call to see if it is a good fit for you I highly recommend you request one (free of charge). If you are not able to afford the prices contact me and we can work something out. This program is for youth 13-24 (any adult older than 24 contact me and we can discuss how I can assist you with your life goals and image; I work with youth mostly so my calendar is mostly full with clients in that age group, however, I can make myself available to you when time permits).
Client Payment Portal is also finally finished and updated – you can click on the program you are signing up for and it will take you to a portal to pay for it there. If you prefer to pay in person or another way let me know.
We are now live on Bold.org – see link on our Scholarships webpage. This partnership will open doors for our donors, supporters and sponsors to donate whatever amount they would like to contribute to our scholarship fund and we will be able to give more scholarships to more youth (title winners do not receive scholarships from Bold.org, that is a separate fund as you will see on the scholarship webpage.
We have a new mailing address located in San Jose you will see that at the bottom of the Home page with the other contact information. Please note that I do not have an office in San Jose, it is just where our mail is going right now to be safe (some people were trying to steal it from the other mail locations prior to this one so I had to remove the address from the website)…phew, so much stress trying to stay safe and protect myself and my business. You can mail anything that has to do with any of our subsidiaries (THINK Higher Spirit Academy, Sandalphon’s Heart and Home, Rainbow Universe Pageants & Youth Services, etc.) just make sure you put the name of the company you are addressing the mail to so it will be routed to that department and not the main headquarters at Angelic Rainbow Enterprises.
I spruced up the entire website to create new backgrounds, some with images and some with just color so it could have a boost and a new spark for Summer 2024 and beyond. Some pages look completely different and some have just a few image changes here and there. I will most likely be doing this periodically throughout the year as I see fit and to just keep things fresh and updated because youth get bored easily and I don’t want to bore them with the same old same old stuff all the time. I get bored easily too so I am constantly coming up with colorful ideas and activities to add to our curriculum and programs so it makes my job, my work, my passion so much fun to do every day and my business is worth holding on to and carrying on with our mission. So take some time to browse every page and check out what is new that you notice. I am doing a contest this month until June 30th for anyone interested in sending me an email with new changes you notice and the one with the most changes right will win a Starbucks gift card. I will post this challenge again next week!
My Week Ahead Audio will resume on Monday, June 17th, my 21 Day HB/HB Tik Tok videos will resume in early July, and our next Pot O’ Gold Newsletter will be in your inbox on Monday the 17th!

ok so i havent actually drawn out this place yet, been meaning to, might do it in the meantime while my shitposts about this non-canon boiling isles town of mine get traction. (set it under a Keep Reading for TOH season 3 spoilers). gonna underline places and stuff so its easier to follow along (so i can sketch it out properly later). if anyone wants to attempt at drawing this place tho have at it id love to see dsghgfj i did my best at describing it
but anyways ive dubbed it Harper's Haven, it's known for it's predominant population of Bards, and has what's considered the Bard Coven Center. the Bard Coven Center was once known as the Bard College, and was once a place where both Bard-magic practitioners and Illusionists would attend to further their knowledge, essentially a higher education place for music and arts (INCLUDING THEATER *coughs at illusionists being good at that shit, i.e. Graye*). but when belos took over, he insisted it would be solely for Bards and made it the central location for Bard Coven witches
nowwww another fun thing is that, not only is Harper's Haven a sole location/gathering place for Bards of all genres, it also has a pretty strong population of Construction witches. cuz. yknow. gotta have event staff to make concert spaces as needed
Harper's Haven is located by the left shoulder of the Titan (a good distance away from the arm that belos made rise into the sky. talk about destruction in the nearby area lmfao), but a good enough distance away from the Titan Skull. So during the Day of Unity, they could somewhat see what was going on. and damn was that terrifying. There's a good amount of woods about 2 miles outside of the western side of town, including a good sized clearing...which used to be smaller...like. a lot smaller, but it got bigger thanks to a certain someone (aka my oc, who will be explained in a lotta lengthy detail in a separate post lmfao). Across from the Bard Coven Center building is a 12-story hotel, properly named the Harper's Haven Hotel, but more commonly called Triple H. A Construction Witch by the name of Caric Thorne created the hotel, having been a huge fan of of Bards and their magic (his son, Eran, also being a part of the Bard track at St. Epiderm's...yea he travels a good distance but its worth it, fairly certain Epiderm's has the best Bard track compared to Hexside and Glandus). Caric Thorne and Crane were. Close. sorta. havent rly decided but hey, he's favorable with the Bard Coven as a Construction witch so good enough lmfao. It's not a super giant town, compared to Latissa and Bonesborough, but it's still a decent size, with plentiful of concert halls and locations.
Bard Coven Center and Triple H are right about in the center of town, directly across the street from one another. For some reason Triple H is the only sorta inn/hotel/etc in the entire place. that just means Triple H gets hella good business...and is constantly busy. but eh, worth it. probably why a lot of the Bards like Caric Thorne so much lmfao. He's also super friendly, acts like a dad/grandpa to pretty much everyone. We stan One(1) somewhat elderly Construction witch.
Post-WAD, the Bard Coven Center returned to its origins, but deciding on its new name: Harper's Haven University of Music and the Arts. The aforementioned clearing 2 miles outside town greatly enhanced in size and became a later well-known outdoor concert space, and once a year, starting about 3 months after belos's defeat, it's host to the Bard Collective Charity Concert, an annual gathering of Bard musicians; the concert lasts all day from morning to the middle of the night (and sometimes into the early morning of the next day depending on length of songs...and excitement lmao).
anyway if anyone wants to know more bout Harper's Haven lemme know. look out for the rant about my Bard oc bc theyre a fckin legend and i love them dearly, theyre the reason for the clearing existing (was their practice area at first for Reasons) and donated it for the annual charity concert.
#m rambles#owl house#the owl house#toh#owl house fandom#toh hcs#technically it counts as a headcanon if i made it up lmfao#the boiling isles#gonna tag it as ->#harper's haven#so i can keep this post saved lmfao

for context cause I typically like keeping this shit separate but I’m literally too drained to care rn:
>had to flee my house back in april
>was legally homeless during my highschool graduation AND when I was applying to community college
>I’ve applied to every fucking place in town for a job and I didn’t receive a single interview acceptance letter or EVEN A LETDOWN
>was the one who was paying bills for my fucking dad to not get evicted cause he ‘didn’t want to’ while we were LITERALLY NOT LIVING THERE BECAUSE OF HIM
>one of my cats fucking died of health complications and I couldn’t say goodbye BECAUSE of my dad refusing to let us temp rehome him (we don’t even know what caused it completely because we couldn’t see him)
>my chronic pain, fatigue and depression has reached an all new high
>dad neglected the fuck out of the house and we’re still repairing it AND had to move HIS OWN BELONGINGS OUT BECAUSE HE DIDNT BOTHER
>the only car to my household name had $700 worth in repairs and the engine light is STILL ON
>by sheer chance of luck my housing situation returned to normal (we were so fucking lucky the judge sided with my mom)
>and now my fucking cats cancer is progressing and we don’t have a clue if we can remove her tumors (which I can’t afford!!!) or if we have a fucking countdown.
and it’s fucking destroying me cause I don’t want to be here posting this shit cause it’s pitying. I don’t like promoting my comms constantly or asking for donations but I literally don’t have any options. I’m beyond embarrassed that my escape from it all has became a fucking dono account.
I’ve literally spent my very first year of adulthood getting into a financial pit that I don’t think I’ll ever be out of and I never was out of it in the first place. my moms social security covers us bill wise but literally everything else and anything prior to her ssi has been supported by me since age 15 and at this rate I’ll never be able to afford a car or place of my own or get top surgery. how the fuck is my life over already it just fucking started and it’s not fair
I literally cannot win this year what the fuck
