I’m under the impression that this might be a super controversial opinion within the queer as folk fandom, and this is really me trying to price together my own thoughts, but I did not like that Britin’s first I love you was after the bomb.
An organic and personal moment between the two of them was what I expected the whole series, and I felt like the heightened drama took away from their I love you. It was already going to be a huge deal.
The extra drama, to ME, cheapens it somewhat. And I understand that the intention is that something drastic has to wake Brian up from his series long frame of mind and his S5 depression, but I feel like the shock of the moment for his character makes it seem like a frantic moment instead of heartfelt.
And they address this by Justin more or less saying that and Brian being like nope AND marry me I’m so so serious but then they nullify their own point by then backpedaling hard on that proposal and playing it off like Brian was only asked out of fear.
So the I love you was real but the proposal was out of fear, but having both yet with separate levels of seriousness muddled the waters to me.
Furthermore, the very intention that something had to shock Brian awake is just a direction I’m not on board with from the get-go.
The bomb itself wasn’t even really jumping the shark with the tone the show had already adopted, I just feel like Brian is backed into a corner too much for me to feel totally satisfied and smitten with a lot of their romance at the end. Like if more of Brian’s verbal affection + commitment choices were made when Brian had a bit more agency I think that would have been more romantic.
I really expected an almost anti-climatic I love you - like when they’re at home doing something ordinary and Brian pulls Justin in by the neck, touches foreheads, says it, and then just acts like it’s no big deal.
And it could have paralleled prom? Like Brian was openly loving towards Justin then Justin almost died, and now Brian could say I love you and then they almost die but this time he isn’t scared off? Idk I already think everything about S5 should have been thrown out idk why I’m trying to make this one part work LMAO….I’m really just trying to examine why this pivotal moment didn’t land for me personally, as kind of a storytelling exercise.

I have a lot of different feelings and thoughts about a lot of different things in my life so I opened tumblr on a godforsaken computer so I could write it out as a read more.
First thought it that it really fucking sucks no one from my family thought to like get me anything for Christmas?? I started painting my brother’s and sister’s presents in September and it took all the way through November to get them finished. That’s the gift, the gift isn’t the money I spent it’s the forethought and effort I put in for months to make sure they both got something really beautiful and heartfelt and homemade. And neither of them thought to do SHIT for me. And my sister I can almost excuse because she just moved into her first apartment December 1 so she’s actually very broke and been quite busy but my older brother saying he’s too broke when he lives at home with my parents and has medicaid and works full time and is saving to travel Europe?? You couldn’t have idk bought me some piece of vermont apparel and sent it my way? He works in a ski resorts retail area like get me a fucking Stowe sweatshirt I dont CARE just show that you think about me. And my sister is a big painter too so idk I thought maybe she would do something homemade. One year I bought her the macrame rope and she made me a wall hanging with a stick from my childhood home’s yard and like even though I literally BOUGHT THE PIECE THAT COST MONEY it was a great gift and I cherish it. My baby brother I really didn’t expect anything and I just sent him a lego set so idk it still sucks but I genuinely didn’t have expectations there. But the lego set was sick and he loved it so success. AND THEN MY PARENTS?? Nothing at all. I was just going to ask for an REI gift card bc I want some outdoor equipment but like I dont think they got me anything. Which idk is fine I guess but I know they got Renee and Frank stuff bc they’re there and I’m not so I just got nothing. And that Mom bought Renee a bunch of new apartment stuff. And I also think it’s bc mom and Frank got in that fight and I refused to call my mom and be a part of it. So anyways it just feels sad that I put time and effort and money into their stuff but it wasn’t returned in the slightest. Not that I got them gifts to get a gift back but it’s my second christmas across the country I just thought someone would try to send me something to remind me they care lol. And they didn’t and it makes me sad.
Got caught thinking about how my very serious suicide attempt was nearly 2 years ago. Time feels so fake. I’ve been permastoned since that and the police fiasco and I’m afraid to stop smoking next month. Gonna try but just scared for the fallout. It’s literally me self medicating. Hopefully it’s fine and I’m like a year and a half clean from SH and have been working to get the gym into a place where its a coping mechanism for this shit but IDK!!!! I just feel nervous. I dont want to relapse with self harm, I dont want to backslide into active suicidality, I dont want to fall back into a lot of disordered eating and exercise patterns. If weed keeps me from doing all that perhaps it’s not the worst thing ever. My bank acct disagrees so doesn’t matter, we’re gonna take a longish break.
So many goals recently are just me trying to prove to myself I can do things if I put my mind to it. Participating in a 12k race, quitting weed, reading more again. I just gotta prove to MYSELF that I am in control of myself, I’m so stuck on autopilot hopefully some of these new things help break me out of that.
The other real like text post thing I wanted to do was list out my new year goals. Idk not resolutions bc I never stick to those I just want some concrete goals for the year. Resolutions are always so abstract and also tbh are always to lose weight and I’m not DOING that anymore so here are the goals for 2023:
Finish 10 books
Participate in Bloomsday Race
Do a dozen hikes
I don’t want to add anything else bc these are all hard things but things I’m excited to do and would feel very proud of accomplishing. Hopefully I grow and learn and regulate this year. Challenge and surprise myself. Belong wholly to just me. The second half of 2022 was really good so just gonna carry that energy into the next year and feel some security with myself.

a lot of milevens like to point out that el was grieving max and thats why she wasnt reaching out to mike and being distant from him and acting aloof when she slammed the door in the cabin...but the thing is, if that was the case then she would’ve been acting distant and disconnected from everyone. she wouldn’t have had the energy to even smile and be that happy the way she did with joyce and hopper but this only goes to show that she was only treating mike that way specifically (and possibly will too ig)? her literal boyfriend? who at that time could’ve been a support system for her?
in the end they showed us el seeking comfort from hopper and having heartfelt moments with him and being able to look happy along with joyce. yet we didn’t get a single interaction between mike and el in the cabin, or even have them staying close by each other at the very least. she literally saw him and even glanced at him for a moment but kind of just walked by then...used her powers to slam the door? even as i first watched that scene with a GA mindset i thought it felt out of place and didn’t understand why she actually seemed sort of annoyed about something, especially because after that she managed to be genuinely happy around her parents, a stark contrast of emotions. if this wasn’t supposed to be unusual behavior towards mike on her part then will wouldn’t have asked him if she ever talked to him and expressed visible concern over it because it shows that will noticed her weird demeanor around him. he expected her to talk more to mike specifically, because he knew she would’ve actively reached out to him as one of the most important people in her life. if it was just about el grieving and being distant from everyone then will wouldve asked something along the lines of “did she talk or open up to anyone at all?” yet will was inquiring about mike and el’s relationship specifically. why isn’t she opening up more to you at the very least?
and the weirdest part is mike just shrugging it off and saying “not much...i mean, a little bit.” it’s like he didn’t even look worried/concerned about her, he acted so nonchalant about it. you literally can’t deny that he was being a little too calm and indifferent over his girlfriend supposedly being deeply sad and grieving one of her closest friends and not talking to him much. if that wasn’t the case then maybe he was feeling defeated/done over something between them, idk, but it really doesn’t look good for the stability of their relationship. if they truly resolved all their problems and their love for each other was stronger than ever then mike would’ve taken more of an initiative to comfort her at a time when she felt her lowest? and tried to actively do something over her being distant from him? since he was so afraid of her not needing him, too. like those were literally his supposed fears playing out in real time. but he doesn’t, and then we find out the one conversation they had wasn’t even deemed important enough to happen onscreen.
its also important to note that they actually made most of the couples stick together by the end of s4 too, even jancy who were supposedly the ones still having unresolved issues between them. lumax in the hospital, jopper up towards the field holding hands. its pure instinct for them to stay close together and naturally gravitate towards each other, and they’re purposely paired up because it conditions the audience to constantly associate them with each other. yet who did mike choose to stay close with by the end of the season? will. and they made a point to give them one last one on one scene and intimate conversation together too, where they once again confide in each other. the moment they did this, they emphasized byler’s relationship more than mileven’s. and the more i think about it, the more im realizing it doesn’t feel as natural to picture mileven as a dynamic duo or unit as much as the other couples, who have gone through hell and back to their own little missions together. their relationship just wasnt given enough opportunity to develop that way, season 1 was the most we got of them teaming up. since then, el has always been off on her own self discovery arc separate from mike. and mike doesn’t feel like they’re equals, he feels inferior to her which is all the more reason why thinking of them working as a “team” feels unnatural and unlike the way their dynamic is portrayed. well, so much for them being the “main couple” of the show i guess...

Fue
You could tell that your beloved Fue was busy. He had been very busy lately with his work. And though you knew that it was because he was so very devoted to his work, you wanted to think that he’d still be able to remember your birthday.
He had a good memory, and he wrote down all of his meetings and deadlines… So, you were very much hoping that he would. Even if you didn’t bring it up, since you knew that it was in the middle of a busy season when it came to paperwork, and didn’t want to pressure him into doing something grand.
You didn’t need anything big anyways. Just a simple, heartfelt wish… maybe a present and cake… Little things. Something that came from the heart.
Even though you suspected that he’d do more than was necessary… if he remembered.
And as the day came by… There were the usual well-wishes, tender kisses and soft smiles. But nothing special.
However, chances were that he was still planning something. Perhaps he was just trying to surprise you.
But as the day progressed… it seemed less and less likely. And it wasn’t until dinner time that Leo asked during dinner when yours was, because the topic came up and… he couldn’t remember yours.
You wondered for a moment about how you should say it… because stating that it was today, would surely have embarrassed your beloved. But refusing to reply was… impolite among other things, so you announced the date. Simple as that.
But of course it didn’t slip by, that it was indeed today. And… even if you didn’t glance at Fue at that time, you could practically feel the way his heart sank at that moment.
“It’s not a big deal,” you tried, as you saw the saddened faces around. “And besides… it’s not like I have been left feeling unloved today,” you continued, trying to shield your beloved’s pride. At which you succeeded.
However, he still pulled you aside afterwards, and apologized for forgetting. Because he did cherish you, and wanted to show it. He did want you to know that he cherished you.
So, he promised to do better next year. He promised that he’d make up for missing this year as well.
You did understand however. He really was busy, and… he was only human too.
You exchanged a kiss, after which he wished you happy birthday, despite of everything.
And that… made you smile. He really did love you.
Tumblr media
Nozel
You knew that he had your birthday in his calendar. You did, because you had seen it once upon a time. And, against all odds, there had been even a tiny, so very tiny heart scribbled next to your name in it.
Quite frankly you were expecting him to hold a party for you. Something grand that would involve all of the finest crème de la crème of Clover Kingdom. Because, after all, he had told you that you deserve nothing but the best.
And you supposed that there was the matter of his reputation, and upkeeping it, involved as well. Since for some strange reason the noble circles seemed to measure most things by your ability to hold extravagant parties.
So, you were emotionally preparing for having to be the centre of attention for the entire day; to be under the watchful eye of the aristocracy who’d watch your every move… You didn’t like the idea, but… you supposed that it was the life you’d be signing up to with Nozel.
And perhaps… that was the first thing that made you suspicious. The initial preparations could be done in secrecy, but an event such as this… it would have become apparent in some point.
But… it didn’t. No signs appeared. Not even on the evening before, which would have been the last day for any indication that there’d be a party on the following day.
So, morning came. He wished you well and headed to work. Time ticked away, and the day turned into evening, with not as much as a simple well-wishing.
But it wasn’t until you both were in your shared bedroom that you dared to ask about it, because you didn’t want to ask about it in passing. Even if you weren’t, until the very moment the question fell from you, sure about how exactly to ask from him.
In the end you settled for a rather direct way of asking. “Do you… by any chance remember what day is today?”
He turned to look at you with a quirked eyebrow and a slight frown as he wondered for a moment. “The date of our first date perhaps?” He took a shot in the dark, which you knew quite well to be one.
“No… not… not really,” you uttered, looking away, since you couldn’t help but feel hurt by this. You couldn’t help but slouch, as your shoulders bent forward, and your body tried to curl around itself.
“Then… what day is it?” He inquired.
“My birthday…”
And that was when it hit him; the realization that he had failed to remember, let alone, celebrate one of the most important days of the year.
He did qualify it as one of the most important days of the year, because it was the one day when he had an… excuse to celebrate the love of his life. Not that he really needed an excuse but… there had to be a day on which he could do so.
Only that… he had forgotten it. He had forgotten it.
His head lowered down, and he turned his side towards you, because he-, he didn’t know what to do, what to say… But also he didn’t want you to see his shame. Not… not at first at least.
Eventually he did turn back to you, mumbling out a “I’m sorry,” with a whisper. It was only a whisper, because it was so very difficult for him to say those words out loud. It was, at least now, maybe it’d get easier with time. Maybe…
“I know you’ve been busy, but it’s… and I don’t really… necessarily being under scrutiny of the nobility during parties but it’s… something would have been nice…” You admitted.
“Mm…” he uttered, taking a few hesitant steps towards you. For a moment his hand rose, but then he retracted it, as if not deeming himself worthy of touching you. “I’ll… repay this to you… somehow… I have time tomorrow evening so we could go out for dinner… take a walk and…”
You were quite convinced that you knew exactly which restaurant he was talking about. Your favourite one. And a walk in the moonlight afterwards… “Maybe a bath…” you continued out loud… “Sounds nice…” you glanced at him.
There was a careful smile on his face. “I’m glad you think so..” he uttered, placing his hand onto our cheek, as faintly as a petal dancing in the wind.
Maybe a private birthday party wasn’t that bad after all.
Tumblr media
Yami
Birthdays were always celebrated with the entire squad at the Black Bull’s base. And though you weren’t sure who had all of them memorized, you had an educated guess about it.
The name of the game was to surprise whoever was celebrated on that given day, but it always failed. Someone spilled something. Ran too loud with the gifts, or was arguing about what kind of frosting should be put on the cake… And if nothing else, the fact that the days were always celebrated, gave people a reason to expect the surprise.
You had seen it so many times, that you expected it for yourself. Since the Bulls had done it to Yami, you were convinced that they’d do it for you too.
Judging from some of the questions Yami made on the days just before the due date, probably noticing your nervousness from your ki, you had even more reason to believe that something was going to happen.
So, in the morning you went down to breakfast, expecting there to be cake, presents… at least everyone gathered around the table to wish you happy birthday.
Only that… it didn’t happen. But you tried to take it as a new tactics. Maybe they’d surprise you later on. So, you settled for waiting.
You waited. And you waited. And… you waited… But nothing.
All day with… nothing…
As you were ready to get to bed, you just sat there, on the bed and … you had to ask Yami: “Do the… Bulls not like me…?”
“Hm?” He looked at you with raised brows. “Why do you think that they wouldn’t? Of course they do,” he tried to assure you, wondering where this all was coming from.
“So…  why didn’t they congratulate me for my birthday..?” You looked at him, expecting an answer, but instead he just blinked at you.
“It’s your birthday?”
“Yeah…?”
“Oh…”
There was a pause that lingered in the air; a moment that was ended by him letting out a heavy sigh, and sitting next to you on the bed, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Look I… I’m sorry that I forgot,” he apologized. “I don’t think the kids knew either so… don’t blame them.”
You nodded as a reply, not really knowing what to say.
“I… wish I was better at these things,” he said, talking to himself more than to you. “But baby I… I’m sorry, and I’ll think of something nice for us to do tomorrow. We could go to the village and maybe get something from a café and…” he trailed off, just throwing the idea out there.
“And see where it goes from there?” You asked, glancing at him from the corner of your eye.
“Yeah…” he replied, wrapping his arm around you and pulling you close. He pressed a kiss on top of your head, and murmured “I love you” into your hair…
And that embrace told you that he did love you. He had made a mistake, but he did love you. And that, was what mattered.

hi bae! idk if i requested this already ahaha (if i already requested this i'm so sorry!! i'm forgetful at times, i didn't mean to spam or anything) but can i request a hc of jyuto, samatoki, and dice's reaction who've seen their fem s/o took 5 creepy men down at once (the creepy men were all knocked out) ? (like their fem s/o who was waiting for them outside after work approached by some creepy men, and have no choice but to fight) thanks bae!! sorry if this is too confusing haha love lots!~ <3
Hey hey anon! I think I got your first request, but it's totally fine so dw. I myself am always forgetful, and tumblr does sometimes eat asks. You weren't spamming though, dw! Anyway, this was a fun request; I loved writing it! Thank you sm for the request, and I hope you enjoy 💕

Samatoki
he never did like it whenever you waited for him outside of his headquarters/base given how dangerous the area around could be since it was yakuza territory
samatoki did like the prospect of having his girlfriend wait for him to finish, wanting to walk with him hand-in-hand home; but your safety was of utmost importance, so he always couldn’t help but scold you each time he found you standing outside the entrance
and this time was no different for samatoki merely sighed when he saw that you had ignored him once more. well, at least you seemed safe, and the very first thing he saw after work was you, so he was content
but when a group of five or so unruly guys - supposedly from a rival gang - showed up, samatoki, of course, couldn’t help but get irritated and unconsciously pull you in closer, as if it’d help keep you safer
this was one of the reasons he didn’t like it whenever you waited for him all alone outside in the dark, knowing full well how this area was roaming with gang members and how practically anyone could walk up and cause problems for you
it wasn’t that samatoki thought that you were weak and couldn’t fend for yourself. simply put, he knew the ins and outs of the dirty tactics the yakuza used to get their way and how you stood no chance against them, and he didn’t want anything to happen to you, especially when he wasn’t there to protect you
he’s very clearly about to beat them up given by the angry look in his eyes, irritated that they even had the audacity to waltz into his territory and threaten him and, more importantly, you. samatoki was going to protect you from harm’s way
but before he had the chance to discard the cigarette he’d been smoking, samatoki saw you take them down so effortlessly, within the blink of an eye almost. the way you swept them off their feet (literally) and twisted their arms or even flipped them onto their backs; it was all so smooth, as if you’d done this a hundred times before
he couldn’t even do anything given how swift it all was, and within a few moments later, he was standing over the groaning bodies of the gang members that tried to jump you guys
“what the fuck??” was all he could mutter, though it was in more of an astonished sense, one in awe. samatoki had no idea that you knew how to fight, much less take down creeps that were taller than you in an instant
it was hot in a way too, he had to admit, and he couldn’t help the smirk that played on his lips. samatoki really had swollen up with pride at the sight of his cute girlfriend taking down a group all by herself. yep, that was his partner, the badass that could singlehandedly take down anyone bothering her
(i can totally see him pouting just a tiny bit at the fact that he hadn’t been the one to have protected you lol but his pride in you overshadowed that)
“you never told me you could do that”
“it never came up,” you shrugged, and all samatoki could respond with was a cocky smirk and a heartfelt “that’s my girl” (maybe the latter even made your heart skip a beat)
samatoki was always proud to have you as his partner, and that only skyrocketed after this incident. admittedly, he was cocky at the fact, and anytime anyone brought you up, he might have boasted about just how strong and amazing you were (he was just so proud)
afterwards, samatoki does feel a lot less hesitant about you visiting him, knowing that you could take down anyone that wanted to start anything within the blink of an eye. he really was simply so smug about it
Jyuto
nightly walks were quite the thing for you and jyuto, who was a bit of a night owl admittedly. there was nothing better than walking through the park underneath the streetlights hand-in-hand after a long, tiresome day at work
but given the recent rise in crime in the surrounding area, jyuto was somewhat more hesitant on going on such walks with you. he himself didn’t mind if he ran into any criminals given how he could easily defeat them with a mic, but when you were with him, it was a bit different
jyuto was sure you guys would be fine and he’d be able to protect you, but it was the thought of dragging you into a headache of a problem that bothered him. plus, given how important you were to him, jyuto didn’t want to jeopardize your safety
still, you insisted this one time, and jyuto found himself strolling through one of the more quiet parts of town with you at around two or so in the morning, quite enjoying it as well. there was something about the peace and stillness of the night and experiencing it with you
that was soon cut short, however, when a group of a few or so guys showed up, very clearly looking for trouble given the way they eyed the two of you (they seemed to be on some sort of substance, perhaps alcohol)
jyuto merely sighed, expecting that something of this sort would happen given how many run-ins he’s had as of late (his luck wasn’t necessarily the best). here he was, wanting to enjoy a nice evening, if it could be called that, with you; and yet, he was stuck in such a predicament. man, this really was a pain
he steps in front of you, signaling that he’d handle this on his own in a few seconds or so, and took out his own hypnosis microphone. jyuto wanted you to stay behind and keep safe while he dealt with the group, not wanting to potentially have you get hurt
before he could even do anything, however, you slipped out of jyuto’s view and single-handedly took all of them down, and i mean like ‘lying face down on the ground, unable to move’ down. they may have been unconscious as well
he’s honestly quite impressed at how quickly you took action and how smooth it all was. you didn’t hesitate in throwing a few punches or twisting their arm until they were on the ground. jyuto himself knew quite the few techniques given his training on having to deal with criminals, and he’s in awe at how well you seemed to execute them
jyuto is a bit speechless at first, but that quickly subsides and turns into a smirk afterwards. did he really just see you take down a group of thugs that quickly? yes, yes he did, and jyuto couldn’t be more proud
“well well well, what do we have here?”
he didn’t know that you were quite adequate in self-defense and/or fighting. it came as a surprise to him, finding out that his girlfriend was indeed a force to be reckoned with. it was certainly admirable, in more ways than one
it was pretty badass too, seeing you take them down without a sweat. he couldn’t help but be proud of you for it, knowing that his s/o was so strong. it was the type of pride that came when someone you loved did something so amazing, proud to know that it was you
(besides, you did just make his job easier lol. he quickly arrested them on charge of attempted assault or theft, even if he wasn’t on the clock)
definitely asks where you learned to do such a thing from, still in awe (he knew you were quite strong and amazing, but this incident increased that as well)’ though i can also see jyuto teasing you slightly, saying how he’s got to watch out around you before he found himself face down on the ground
but really, he’s just all around amazed at how you took the initiative and took them down in no time at all. you were just full of surprises
Dice
dating him was always quite the adventure given his escapades, meaning that you often found yourself in unsettling places or situations given dice’s need for excitement and rush of adrenaline
he always brought you to the strangest of places, ones that you hadn’t the slightest idea how he managed to stumble upon them in the first place. you never did know what to expect with him
and tonight was no different, having accompanied him on one of his gambling expeditions late at night to some shady place. you knew that dice went a bit overboard at times and practically had no regard for his own safety when he was caught up in the excitement, so you decided that you’d look out for him
besides, it was a nice (that was questionable) change of pace from your boring nights, and dice was rather excited to have you with him, so it did all work out in the end
that was soon cut short, however, as a group of five or so guys with a rather threatening aura approached the two of you, assuming that they didn’t take too kindly to the fact that dice had won something that night (no matter how small the prize may have been)
dice didn’t seem to be all too fazed by this, most likely used to such occurrences and danger, though it was easy to notice how he seemed to become rather protective of you given the way he pulled you in closer
sure, dice himself was used to such danger and all, but that was because he willingly put himself in such situations. when it came to those that he loved and cared for, he obviously didn’t want them to get hurt
besides, he did think that it was because of him that the two of you were in this position in the first place; so dice wanted to protect you from harm’s way
he wasn’t one that was quick to jump to his microphone and would rather try to disarm the situation (as bad as he may have been with that), but this time around, since you were also involved, dice really didn’t hesitate to pull it out
there really was no need, however, given how you took them all down so swiftly. dice didn’t even have time to blink before he found out that you had taken care of all of them within an instant
holy shit...that was so cool (and lowkey a bit hot)
he didn’t even have time to follow what you did or even knew what happened in the first place. one minute, dice was about to confront them, and the next, you were twisting their arms or kicking them so that they’d fall
it was all so quick to, as if you’ve been in this position before or even have practiced it hundreds of time. it was clear that you knew exactly what to do and where to hit them
immediately in awe, sparkles pretty much evident in his eyes, as he’s yelling and saying just how cool and badass that was. you just took down a group of guys all by yourself! with no help from him or a hypmic!! you were so strong
dice always did admire you, and he pretty much always shows it; and this time around was no exception. he’s asking you all sorts of questions, such as how you were able to do that or where you even learned it or what you even did in the first place, all in excitement. perhaps you could even teach him a thing or two
(man, he didn’t know that he also had his very own cute bodyguard when the two of you first began dating)
honestly, he’s also quite smug about it, the fact that his girlfriend was so strong and could take care of anyone single-handedly. and he’s not afraid to show it with the cocky smirk on his face. he was simply much too prideful about you
lowkey is still in amazement and probably will bring it up again from time-to-time as a fond memory. he’ll never let you forget about it, but that’s only because dice was so proud of you, and he wanted to show it
sure it may be flustering, but it was also quite cute in a way

“You did what?!” you shouted incredulously. “How did that even happen?!”
There were two things wrong with what Zhongli just told you. One: the human in question probably wasn’t you, and two: now even the Archons couldn’t protect you.
“I’m not sure,” Zhongli answered, though you knew there was a more concrete answer hidden somewhere in his mind. “But you needn’t worry. I refuse to act on it unless something within Celestia changes.”
“Oh,” you sighed, unsure if you were relieved. Celestia was steadfast in its beliefs and you doubted they would shift anytime soon. But even if you suspended your disbelief, there was no hope for you either way. You knew that there was no way Zhongli would ever love someone like you. They deserved someone more accomplished, someone stronger, someone with less baggage, someone better. That didn’t stop the ache in your heart you felt every time you just thought about them, though. If anything, it made it worse.
“So Celestia doesn’t like it when Archons interact with humans personally?” you continued, hoping to get your mind off of your negative self-perception.
“Not necessarily. It is simply forbidden for us to fall in love with humans,” he corrected. You winced when they implied that they were in love with whoever this human was.
A cold breeze blew through the open door and into the small room. The wind whistled ominously outside, a warning that once you left these murals behind and reentered the rest of the world, you were unequivocally unsafe. Now, you knew for certain that the humans living in Sal Vindagnyr directly opposed Celestia and were killed because of it. Your own divine punishment was waiting. Worse, Zhongli was in danger too. If an Archon couldn’t protect you, then who could?
You wanted to say something to change the subject, but the sound of footsteps outside interrupted your thoughts. As they continued, they increased in volume, now thundering across the mountain and sending fearful shockwaves into your chest. You wanted to just cower in fear at this point. Nothing, nowhere, nobody was safe anymore.
Zhongli shot you a worried look. “I—”
“Keep it down,” you whispered sharply. “I think I know who’s here.”
He just nodded. The two of you hid away from the door, out of sight from the outside. Hopefully the person approaching wouldn’t enter the room, but you weren’t counting on that. Your snowy footprints gave away your exact location. You really should have expected to be found.
The footsteps changed from the crunch of snow to the crisp click of stone. Whoever it was had entered the room. They were just another step from finding you and Zhongli.
“[Name],” Dainsleif said affectionately. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you…” He eyed Zhongli critically. “…I see you’ve replaced me.”
Dainsleif’s presence was suffocating. He was the last person you wanted to see right now. Things were already bad enough, and he really just had to show up and make them worse. With you and Zhongli hiding in the corner, Dainsleif now had you both trapped, lest you wished to fight him. In all honesty, you knew you were incapable of beating him, physically or mentally.
“Why are you here, Dain?” you deadpanned. You subconsciously reached for Zhongli’s hand, which they quickly accepted.
“We need you. I need you, and you need me,” Dainsleif answered, clearly heartfelt. “I know you’re—”
“I don’t need you,” you bit. Zhongli’s grip tightened, concerned about what you were thinking and how you were feeling when faced with the friend who betrayed your trust.
“Look, that doesn’t matter right now. I know how far you’ve come, and I think you’re in danger,” Dainsleif warned. He was stating the obvious — you knew that, but you couldn’t help but feel panic bubbling up inside of you. The reassurance that everything was, in fact, not going to be okay was harrowing.
“They will be safe with me,” Zhongli chimed in, unable to watch you panic any longer.
“You’re in danger too, Morax,” Dainsleif replied, fear intoxicating his tone. How did he…?
You furrowed your eyebrows. “How do you—”
“I know everything I need to know,” he cut you off, leaving you with a thousand questions that would have to be tabled for now. “The point is that Celestia is ready to punish you and the Archons.”
You stepped forward a bit, pulling Zhongli with you. Dainsleif moved back, surprised by your sudden movement.
“And why should I believe you?” you fought.
Dainsleif just sighed. “Because you already know it too.” You hated that he was right. You wanted him to be wrong, and to rub it in when you correct him. But no. He knew you too well. All that time of being friends wasn’t for nothing.
“You know too much now, and that’s exactly why Khaenri’ah fell,” Dainsleif continued, ignoring the clear horror growing on your face. “I overheard you two earlier. If you’re both in danger, I doubt Celestia will spare either one of you. In fact, I think Celestia may hurt all of the Archons for their connection to you, [Name].”
You couldn’t stand the thought of the Archons getting hurt because of you. The God of Justice taught you your morals and provided you the home country you so deeply cherished. Kusanali offered you friendship and knowledge with no ulterior motive, just the kindness of her heart. Murata had dominion over the element you proudly wielded. Barbatos curated the freedom you desperately fought for throughout Teyvat. Ei shared her tragic story about Khaenri’ah with you in hopes of helping. The Tsaritsa explained her reasoning for “stealing” the gnoses and distancing the Archons from Celestia. And Zhongli… you loved him.
The Archons weren’t deities to be worshipped. They weren’t historical figures to be revered. They were normal people, just like everyone else. They were your closest friends, sometimes even your family when you were missing home. They were everything to you, and you couldn’t afford to lose them to your own hubris.
“I doubt they would do such a thing,” Zhongli argued, still trying to convince you that everything would be alright. You knew things were bad, but you appreciated their effort to soothe your nerves anyway.
“I wouldn’t be too sure about that,” Dainsleif rebutted. He stepped outside of the mural room and beckoned you and Zhongli to join him outside. As you began to approach the doorway, the discordant screams of people miles away became apparent. Explosions sounded from every direction. You shared an expression of fear with Zhongli before joining Dainsleif outside.
And what you saw was… indescribable. Heartbreaking, life ruining, apocalyptic. No single word or string of coherent phrases was enough. The sky was heavy with black clouds, some of them permeated with glowing red light. Similarly crimson cubes descended upon the landscape below you — not just Dragonspine, but everywhere visible. In the distance, you saw Springvale get blasted with a ray of red cubes, pushing up a huge mushroom cloud into the atmosphere. Wangshu Inn was surrounded by potholes and fires, likely from earlier impacts. The snow blurred your focus a bit, but you could make out the tiny silhouettes of people scrambling to escape from the chaos. Only, there was no safe haven to retreat to. Not a single plot of land remained untouched from the deadly attacks descending upon the earth.
It was unlike anything you could ever begin to imagine. It was a nightmare come to life. The world you knew and loved was suddenly ending right before your eyes, and you were helpless to stop it. You were going to die. Your family back in Fontaine would never know of your final fleeting thoughts. Kusanali would never get to see you graduate. You would never get the chance to help Lumine find her brother. You would never be able to tell Zhongli how you felt. The world was literally falling apart around you, yet all you could do was stand and watch, hand in hand with an Archon — no, a person who you endangered.
You were too shocked to speak. Dainsleif and Zhongli fell silent too. The three of you watched the catastrophe from afar in utter horror. Soon, the Celestial attacks would rain upon you. In your last moments, you didn’t want to regret anything. You knew it was wrong, but if you were all going to die, then why not just go for it? It’s not like there would be any consequences.
“We’re all going to die here,” Zhongli stated blankly, as if the emotions had been drained from him upon seeing the disaster unfold.
“And that’s why I need to tell you this now, before we go.” You tore your eyes away from the nightmare to gaze into the fleeting dream you held so close to your heart. Zhongli’s adoring amber eyes were respite from the pain before you. They always looked at you with such sincerity. It was hard for you to not fall in love with him.
“Zhongli, I l—”
And then the mountain above you crumbled. Snow plummeted down at a rapid speed. Something must have hit the peak. Dainsleif sprinted out from underneath the stone overhead to see what was wrong. You and Zhongli followed quickly.
Looking up, a sight you never wished to behold met you. Skyfrost Nail was higher in the sky than ever before, and now it was falling back into the mountain at full force. Celestia was trying to kill you personally. Nobody else ever came to Dragonspine save for a few Fatui soldiers and a strange alchemist from Mondstadt. If Dainsleif was right, and you knew he was, you caused this apocalypse. Of course they were trying to kill you.
The pillar slammed into the peak of the mountain, pushing boulders and more snow down to where you, Zhongli, and Dainsleif stood. Zhongli ran, pulling you with them, back towards the mural room. Before Dainsleif could catch up to you, a falling boulder separated him from you. Now, he was fully outside, and you had the shelter of being beneath the mountain and in the mural room. You knew you couldn’t wait here for long. Celestia would find you and Zhongli sooner rather than later.
Without a second thought, you burst into tears. Although you couldn’t really tell because your vision was fogged with tears, Zhongli was crying too.
“I’m sorry,” you cried, hopeless. “This is all my fault. I should’ve listened to Kusanali.”
“Please do not place any blame on yourself. This is Celestia’s doing, not yours,” Zhongli said wistfully. You could hear his voice breaking. “You simply wanted to make the world a better place…”
“And look where that got me,” you laughed pathetically.
Next thing you knew, a searing pain shot through your hand — the one still in Zhongli’s. You glanced down at a red cube engulfing your wrist. It moved, pulling you away from Zhongli. They reached out to help you, but a cube manifested on their wrist as well. Celestia was taking control of your movements. You winced in agony at the scorching burns of the cubes now multiplying all over your body. And before you knew it, you were completely swallowed by them, vision fading to black and sense going dull.

You Should’ve Come to Shiratorizawa
Pairing: Oikawa x Reader
Word Count: idk because I’m too lazy to check Word. So maybe 2K?
Summary: after losing his chance at going to nationals in his second-year, Oikawa sees a different reason why he should’ve gone to Shiratorizawa.
Warnings: nothing but fluff
A/N: inspired by ushijima’s favorite phrase lol
⊱ ━━━━━━━━.⋅ εïз ⋅.━━━━━━━━⊰
This was Oikawa’s moment. It was his second-year and he must make it to nationals. No - he would make it to nationals. He absolutely had to, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to live with himself. All the days, hours, minutes, and pure seconds he dedicated to this match would mean something. Iwaizumi had to stop the determined setter from training himself to the point of breaking. Yet, it would all be worth it in this match.
Oikawa remembers the monster Ushijima Wakatoshi, and how that monster looked down on him in his last year of junior high. The mere memory of inferiority made him grind his teeth and furrow his eyebrows with his arms crossed. Even when they had a practice match together, Shiratorizawa still won. And that same condescending expression still haunted him.
“You’re going to break your teeth.”
Oikawa turned around, knowing that it would be Iwaizumi anyways. He plastered his classic, fake smile onto his face. In a sing-song voice, he replied, “Iwa-chan! You do care!”
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and smacked him on the back of the head. “Just don’t get yourself out of the game before it even starts.”
Not wanting to hear another lecture, Oikawa nodded and returned to glaring at the doors that had yet to open.
~
On the other side, the predicted-champions were stretching. Ushijima laid out on the floor, stretching out his lower back. Usually, Tendo would’ve joined him but he decided to try to progress his gymnastics career. Did you understand what position he was in with his head in between his legs that grew closer and closer to the floor? No. But did you know that was something Tendo would do? Yep.
“‘Tori, you need to win the match so I can win a bet,” you said, with an imaginary halo hovering over your head. You even tilted your head to meet his eyes as he peered at you from upside down.
Being Shiratorizawa’s manager meant that you had an insight into their training; so, you knew you’d be eating well tonight. The comment wasn’t filled with any tone of concern. After all, this was Shiratorizawa.
“Nani?” Your redheaded friend asked, raising his head to look at you. Tendo’s wide eyes stared at you and into you, serious as Ushijima. Then he burst into his warm persona with a chocolate-sweet smile, “You put a bet on us to win? That’s so sweet!”
“Of course, I did! You guys always win,” you replied like it was a fact. As of this moment, Shiratorizawa hasn’t lost a match this season. You were absolutely sure that they would beat Aoba Seijoh, too. They’ve done it before and it will happen again.
Finally, the doors opened.
The blue and white colors greeted you from across the court. Banners hoping to garner the attention of Oikawa Tooru, the pretty boy setter of their team, were waved around proudly and erratically. Girlish screams echoed through the gym as their team entered.
“They’re very loud,” Wakatoshi muttered under his breath. He glowered at the opposing cheer section, probably putting some people in the hospital from mere shock.
“That’s because they have a pretty boy to cheer for,” Tendo said, lightening the mood as Wakatoshi grew more and more annoyed at the noise.
Oikawa’s reputation for being ‘perfect’ was well-known, mostly amongst the girls. Clearly, the girls in the gym believed in that wholeheartedly. To you, it was annoying. After all, no one was perfect. It was even more annoying dealing with that personality in person. During the practice match, his ego took up half of the gym. Hopefully, he’d be humbled today.
“Didn’t you want Oikawa to come to Shiratorizawa?” You asked despite knowing the answer. Admittedly, you just loved seeing how riled up Wakatoshi got about the ordeal. It was one of the few times the statue showed emotion.
“He’s an amazing setter and would’ve performed to his highest level had he come to our team,” the ace explained without skipping a beat. His eagle eyes focused on the brunette from across the floor, poking holes in him. It seemed that the setter felt the intense stare, because he returned it before turning away with a reddened face immediately.
~
“They’re so loud already,” Iwaizumi complained as soon as they entered the gym. He tried his best to mask his distaste for the cheers, but the outrageous screams for Oikawa made it difficult. “Can you tell them to be quiet?”
“Of course not! They’re my fans and I love them,” Oikawa replied with his cutest smile as he waved to everyone. Squeals of excitement greeted him back, making him grin all the more from the attention to his ego.
“I think I see another fan,” Matsukawa teased, subtly pointing across the gym.
Oikawa’s eyes followed his finger and saw his worst nightmare. Shiratorizawa’s prized possession, Ushijima Wakatoshi, was staring holes into his very being. Oikawa shivered with fear, until his eyes narrowed in on the girl beside him.
Wow, she’s really pretty. Wait – I can’t hit on the enemy!
Turning red, he shifted away from the opposing team. Hanamaki quirked an eyebrow, “Finally realize your attraction towards Ushiwaka?”
Oikawa shivered with disgust, “I’m not attracted to him!”
“Oh?” Matsukawa cheekily smiled. He turned to Hanamaki, continuing, “I bet that he’s hitting on the manager.”
The setter’s ears perked up, “That’s their manager?”
“If you actually looked at your surroundings, you would’ve realized this sooner,” Iwaizumi stated with disappointment. He added, “She was at our practice match, too, Shittykawa.”
Choosing to ignore the obvious slander, Oikawa pouted and sighed, “Too bad she’s with the enemy.”
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes, “Only you could care about that type of thing.”
“Get your head in the game,” the captain barked at the second-years, clearly annoyed that they were just goofing off instead of warming up.
“We’ll win,” Oikawa said before stretching. “We need to.”
~
As expected, Shiratorizawa won with flying colors, led by the genius that was Ushijima Wakatoshi. The match point started with a serve from Oikawa and ended with a powerful spike from Ushijima.
Across from the gym, you saw the setter crumble to the ground. Even with the distance, you could hear Oikawa’s heartfelt apologizes that he couldn’t land an ace service. Some tears were wiped away hastily with shame. Not even the reassurances from his fans stopped the waterfall.
Surprisingly, the pretty boy was an ugly cryer. Seeing him in this imperfect state made you not want to look away. Was all that ego just a show to hide his insecurities?
“Don’t feel bad for him,” Ushijima said, drawing you out of your haze. If anyone who didn’t know him overheard what he said, he would’ve sounded like a cold hearted victor without any humility. But you knew him and his meaning. “He should’ve come to Shiratorizawa.”
You sighed but still smiled. “I knew you’d say that.” Then, upon further inspection with your nose, you cringed, “Come on, you need to shower.”
After Coach Tanji gave his victory speech, the boys were dismissed to the locker room. As usual, you were left outside of the restrooms to wait. Fangirls whimpered over Oikawa’s melancholy state and even dared to suggest that Shiratorizawa tipped off the referee.
“If you think we needed bribes to win, then you know nothing about volleyball,” you defended your team, glaring at them like an eagle ready to snatch their prey. After watching these boys practice and endure yelling from their coach for hours on end, no mere suggestion of cheating or bribery would be tolerated.
As the girls opened their mouths to snap back at you, a different voice flew through the air. One that was noticeably deeper than these whiny pigeons. “As much as I hate to admit it, Shiratorizawa won fair and square.”
Of course, that voice belonged to Oikawa. You’ve heard his voice before. Most of the time, it would be higher pitched, flirtatious, and vibrant. Now, it was deeper, more serious, and grey.
“Thank you,” you muttered before being overrun by his fangirls who rushed to console him. You rolled your eyes. Reminding him of his loss wouldn’t make him feel better at all.
Yet, Oikawa perked up to the attention like a sunflower reaching for light. The usual tone of voice returned and his classic smile rose to his face. But when they were gone, the show drew to a close. The setter’s gaze turned to you. Something about it was sad and longing. He just couldn’t accept the fact, that along with this match’s victory, Ushijima had you, too.
“Oikawa,” a voice behind you rumbled. You turned to see a freshly showered Wakatoshi, who smelled infinitely better now. “You should’ve come to Shiratorizawa.”
The victim of this constant reminder grimaced and sighed from dejection. “Not this again.”
“You know that I’m right.”
“I could never go there with you, my enemy,” Oikawa spat and crossed his arms.
Should you be here? Probably not since it felt like a lovers’ quarrel but hey, free entertainment. You closed your eyes and leaned back on the bench, blocking out their voices. It was quite easy since you couldn’t rest well from the anxiety of the results for nationals these past few weeks.
Soon, you opened your eyes to find Ushijima gone and Oikawa staring at you. “Why did you go to Shiratorizawa?”
In reality, it was because you didn’t want to leave Tendo alone. Instead, you shrugged, “Good academics.”
“… so why are you with Ushijima?” Oikawa asked, ready to scrutinize your reason. A part of him wanted to know if you were actually single. Another part wondered how anyone could tolerate his presence.
Although you tried to hold yourself back, laughter poured from you. You tried to calm yourself down, but the idea of dating a literal statue with no social awareness - no matter how handsome - made you laugh once more.
Students from Shiratorizawa had a reputation of being stern - unless you were Tendo, of course. In fact, most Shiratorizawa students that Oikawa had the displeasure of meeting seemed that way. So, seeing someone loosely enjoying themselves brought you even closer to Oikawa’s type. Your laughter made him want to laugh, even if he didn’t know why you were laughing.
“I couldn’t date Ushijima,” you explained. “We don’t have the same sense of humor.”
Oikawa shifted to his side, slightly with relief. Subconsciously, he started preening himself. “I don’t think Ushijima can be funny.”
“No, no. He can be funny, but it’s mostly by accident,” you elaborated with a chuckle.
“I like your laugh,” Oikawa declared. You weren’t sure if it was a compliment, since it sounded more like he was telling himself of that fact.
You quirked an eyebrow, “You’re even weirder than I thought.”
“Hey, my team already bullies me enough!” Oikawa whined. Despite his little facade of being sad, he still couldn’t hold back his smile.
You giggled, “They bully you?”
“Over everything!” Oikawa stated with a show of his arms in defeat.
“I wouldn’t bully you,” you proclaimed with sincerity.
“You really are an angel,” Oikawa complimented with awe. “I wish you went to Aoba Josai.”
“Awh, really?” You asked with a tilt of your head. Oikawa nodded. Smirking, you chuckled, “Then, you should’ve come to Shiratorizawa.”

hey can you do their reactions on first date? i'm loving your posts
WayV's First Dates
Hey anon :) Thank you so much for your request~!
I hope you enjoy
Kun:
Tumblr media
Kun had recently asked you out on your first date
You honestly didn't know what you were expecting to do when he came and picked you up from your place
But spotting a cute little picnic basket and a checkered sheet in the back seat of his car, it clicked
He was going to take you out on a picnic, duh
He knew after your years of friendship that you adored his cooking
So he thought "maybe I should just cook something just for them and I"
When you two arrived at your destination, being the gentleman he is, he helps you out of his luxury Mercedes
(He wouldn't admit it but he wants to flex a bit for you)
And honestly, this place was beautiful
"Kun, it's stunning here.. Wow"
You marvel at the lush green grass and the beautiful weeping willows decorating the open field
He linked his hands with yours, the picnic basket and sheet in his other
He led you to a very specific spot, next to a small trickling stream
"I come sit here sometimes when I'm feeling overwhelmed, y/n. I thought that since you know.. we're dating now I should begin to show you my safe places" he said as he spread out the checkered sheet and set the basket on top of it
You planted yourself on top of the sheet, and he followed
After opening the basket, he pulls out your lunch
It was simple, but adorable
He had made precious little bite sized sandwiches and beautifully decorated heart shaped cookies
Two cans of coke for you two to drink as well
And a bag of chips
"I hope this is alright, y/n.. I know it's not much bu-"
"Kun, it's absolutely precious. I love it so much."
He smiles and laces his hand with yours
You two spend hours sitting and enjoying nature
Maybe you two fall asleep in each other's arms and wake up 3h later when the sun is setting
Ten:
Tumblr media
Ten was extremely nervous about picking you up for your first date together
He was slightly worried that maybe you wouldn't enjoy what he had planned
Slightly? I mean he was nearly shaking because he really wanted to have many many dates with you after this one
If he messes up now, it could nuke the possibility of any other dates
He had told you to dress somewhat formally
Preferably in a suit and tie or a flowy dress
So when he sees you walking to his car from your door, he's starstruck at how you look
He had planned taking you to a waltz class and then to an Italian dinner
Guy wanted to be extra
So when you arrive at the class
And you realize what he had planned
You're flustered because
Holy shit, you're expected to dance with the man that is known in the music industry partially because of his dancing?
You're nervous, yet so grateful
He guides you slowly and eventually you get the steps
And the way it feels to be in his arms as you two dance together ignites a fire in your heart
All you feel for Ten at that moment is just an insane amount of love
After the class is finished, you're in awe when he takes you two a dimly lit restaurant
A candle lit restaurant as well??
Damn, Ten really knew how to get you in the loving mood
When he drops you off at home, you invite him in for tea
He asks you for a dance
And you two waltz around your living room like a couple of fools
But a couple of fools that were in love
Winwin:
Tumblr media
It took months before Winwin actually got the guts to ask you out
He'd manage to get half the question out before changing the whole conversation
So when he finally forced it out, and you accepted
He was over the moon
But now the problem is..
Where should he take you?
He decided to settle for something easy but just as special as anything else
And that was taking you for a walk in your local park
It was fall, so the leaves were turning and the air was somewhat chilly
"y/n, to warm our hands, do you want a warm drink?"
"Yes please, Sicheng"
You two went to get coffee/tea
And with your coffee/tea in your left hand and Sicheng's hand in the right
It gave you a feeling in your chest like a roaring campfire
You two talked for what seemed like an eternity
About anything and everything
Sitting on a bench, hand in hand
As you watch people and their dogs stroll by
Eventually, you started to get a bit cold
So you two made your way back to your apartment
You invited him in for snacks and maybe some TV
As you were watching some randomly picked out b-movie
You two fell asleep in each other's arms
Lucas:
Tumblr media
He's actually adorable. I just wanna hold his hand.
When Lucas originally asked you out
He never thought that you'd actually agree
So he didn't think of anything past the idea of asking you
When you went "sure, I'd love to go out with you. What would you want to do?"
He halted
"I don't know.. Maybe just go see a movie on Friday night?"
It was a basic idea, but an idea nonetheless
So when Friday night came and he picked you up
Poor guy was super nervous
You two settled on seeing some action spy movie thing
You didn't want to admit to him that sometimes during these movies, you get motion sick
So when you get the slight nauseated feeling from keeping your eyes on the fast moving screen
You hide your face in Lucas' shoulder, doing deep breath exercises
You grab his hand and as he realizes you're not exactly feeling well
He rubs tiny patterns into the top of your palm
"Do you maybe just want to go walk around the mall, y/n? We can leave now if you'd like"
"Yes please.."
He guides you out of the theatre and into the adjoining mall
As your eyes land on Build-a-Bear Workshop, you give him puppy eyes
"Xuxi, let's build a bear together!"
Oh, how could he say no?
So you two build a stereotypical teddy bear together
But with one of those hearts that they put in that does the little heartbeat thing
He admires the way you look as you butt-fuck the stuffing into the bear (idk how else to describe it I'm so sorry)
And honestly, he has a bit of a hard time letting you take the bear home but he has to be the charming "yes, you can have the bear" type #MatureXuxi
He's so happy when you agree to another date ;)
Xiaojun:
Tumblr media
Xiaojun preformed at your local bar on Saturday nights
As his best friend, you'd always agree to be there
Until he asked you something that genuinely surprised you
"Do you maybe want to come and see my show as... my girlfriend and date? I mean, you don't have to but..."
"I'd love to, Dejun."
You had been having certain feelings for Xiaojun shortly after you two developed a friendship
Anyways,
On Saturday night, he had picked you up
At the bar, you helped him prepare for his performance
Setting up the microphone, tuning his guitar, etc.
He had written a song for you that he would perform in front of the audience
And God, if your face wasn't flushed at the way he introduced you to the crowd as his girlfriend
Then it definitely would've been after he sang this song about how handsome/beautiful you were
After his performance, he sat across from you at your table
"Did you like it, y/n?"
"Y-Yes, I loved it.."
He reached his hands across the table and grabbed your hand
"I love you, y/n."
He pressed a gentle kiss on the top of your hand
Quite a weird first date, but a very heartfelt one.
Hendery:
Tumblr media
You and Hendery had a specific place to always go as friends
And that was the arcade
He loved how you'd jump around and smile after beating the high score on one of the flashy machines
He also found it hilarious when you'd input "ur mum" as your name after you've absolutely obliterated 1st the place score
So when he asked you
"y/n you think you'd like to go on a date with me to the arcade? I mean like.. a date date"
It kinda hit different
I mean, it was the place you'd always hang out with him
But this wasn't as homies
This was as blossoming lovers
You were unreasonably nervous, and so was he
You two eventually stopped being shy around each other
And started pushing each other around if you or he wanted to play one of the games you've played millions of times before, first
The way he cheered you on as you played some type of Street Fighter
It really opened your eyes to how you truly felt about Hendery
Every compliment that he spilled
It'd make your face flush
I mean, you knew you had a bit of a crush on him in the first place
But now? Now you knew you were undeniably in love with him
After this little occasion, you two started to go on more date dates to other places besides the arcade
Yangyang:
Tumblr media
You and Yangyang spent the majority of your time at the PC cafe with each other
Playing some online games
Sometimes other members of NCT would join you as well
It became something you'd look forward to at the end of the week
You and Yangyang were almost ALWAYS teammates
You weren't too sure if he always requested to be on your team because he liked you or because he thought you were a good player
Maybe both?
Definitely both.
After your hangout with Yangyang and a handful of NCT members, he asked you out for a trip to the bakery
"y/n, you maybe wanna join me to the bakery? I'll buy you something... it'll be a little date"
A date?
"Sure, Yang. I'd love to. Free food is a bonus too."
Your face went red as he slips his hand into yours and pulls you towards the bakery
You two unknowingly kept your hands grasped to each other's as you picked out a small dessert
"Yangyang, do you maybe... like me?"
"Like you? Of course I do" he squeezes your hand "I think I like you more than a friend should like a friend"
Oh so this..
This WAS a date
"I like you like that too, Yangyang..."
He flashes you his signature Yangyang™ smile
"Then lets do little dates more?" he asks
"Yeah, I'd love to..."

Greetings! I got this idea for danganronpa AU where Nagito is like ghost "living" (or haunting idk-) his old house and the reader moves into that house and they slowly became closer and yk<3
hi i love this concept :)
Request for: Nagito Komaeda Warnings: nagito’s backstory, slight religious overtones, we breach minor ghost-fucker territory (but no actual ghost-fucking), no-killing game au also ~~~
The house itself was rather nice. Nothing too luxurious for who the previous owner was aside from the obnoxiously fancy chandelier hanging in the den.
The realtor was hesitant to explain that the reason it was selling so comically cheap was, in fact, due to the belief of a ghost. Not just any, however. It was the previous owner’s ghost.
People who even stepped into the house could feel his chilling touch. Hear quiet, shaky whispers in the night. The fireplace would crackle and burst to life at strange times with nobody near it. Visitors and almost-buyers alike would thrust their warnings to stay away upon anybody who so much as looked at the home.
But that didn’t matter much - a house was a house and it’s not like the ghost was malicious from description. Just… annoying. Perhaps a little eerie, but again, not harmful. Everybody escaped without physical injury. So, why not buy it?
Maybe the ghost just needed a friend? Death was probably a lonely time.
Bought on Tuesday. Moved in Wednesday. Finished unpacking… still pending.
It’s not like (Y/n) had anybody to impress anyways. She’d made the move for a fresh start; new faces, new stories.
The bumps began on Friday.
Sometimes they were taps. Sometimes crashes followed by the gentle rapping against the walls, as if to apologize for the loud noise.
She’d stayed through the month, undeterred by any of the ghosts’ activities.
Then the happenings seemed a little more… intimate.
A photo slowly sliding out from beneath the fridge, at first.
Three people in frame. From left to right, there was a figure with shoulder-length pink hair and a smile to make the heavens jealous - then white hair to rival a cloud-marshmallow love child, skin sickly pale and body wastingly thin - finally, brown hair with an ahoge sticking out like an antenna and posture that almost made him taller than the one in the middle. Well, not really, but attempting counted, right?
“Which one’s you?” she asked the air, whether she was too tired, or simply didn’t care enough, to be embarrassed was irrelevant.
A single droplet of water, from a leak she didn’t know existed until this very moment, fell from the ceiling before splotching over the face of the one in the middle.
“White hair, heavy eye bags?”
There was no response, but she took it as a yes anyway. What a pretty, pretty face. In a tragic way.
Because he did look rather ill. Frail build and purple hues under his eyes. Pretty but suffering - it made her feel bad. Of course, she already knew he was dead, but even so - suffering should always inspire empathy rather than romance.
And again, he was dead, so the likelihood of a romance between them anyway was slim to none. None. Unless she suddenly dropped dead, there would be no sweet kisses in the morning or gentle hugs from behind as one of them makes dinner. Maybe when she died, he’d be available for a ghostly date while the house gets put back on the market.
(Y/n) chuckled at the sudden thought of lightning cracking into her home, despite the sunny weather, and striking her dead where she stood. Ridiculous, but God liked ridiculous things.
The sudden thought hit her - what if that old photo was old old? Maybe he was eighty when he died and she just subconsciously signed herself up for a date with an elderly ghost?
Shaking her head, (Y/n) scolded herself for the thought. She’d already be dead by then, it wouldn’t matter what age he was...
Then, it was the scribbling on spare papers. Always specifically spares. Double copies she had put in recycling. Scraps. Even on the backs of paper-esque trash. It was an oddly considerate move for a ghost, though to be fair, she’d never met a ghost before and couldn’t tell if it was out-of-place or not for them.
The words always appeared when she was out of the room. Leaving to grab something and coming back to find the out-dated schedule for work out of recycling and on her desk with crayon sprawled over it.
Hi
Eloquently said, in her opinion.
“Hi?” she looked around the room, “Can you not talk? I thought people said they heard whispers…”
A bang in the other room drew her out. When there was nothing out of place, she returned to her desk only to be met with more words.
I’m Nagito Komaeda :)
“Dodging the question, huh?”
The process repeated. Bang. Nothing out of the ordinary. Return. New words.
Sorry :(
“Don’t apologize,” (Y/n) shrugged off before moving to her computer, “I’m just gonna look you up.”
A series of bangs - now that she truly listened, it sounded like a fist pounding to the drywall - resonated through the home. She did not get up nor did she pause her actions of Googling the man known as Nagito Komaeda.
Until a piece of paper flew in from the open door.
Bad idea
“Probably, yeah,” she huffed, moving back to her computer.
Nagito Komaeda, born April 28th, first popped up as the sole survivor in an old plane hijacking report. Both parents, all plane staff, and the hijackers left dead after the plane crash caused by a meteor strike. Then he came up as a survivor of an old serial kidnapper/killer. Then as a boy who’d inherited the entirety of his parents’ fortune and won a large sum from a lottery ticket he’d found in the trash bag he was stuffed in by his kidnapper. Then as a Hope’s Peak graduate under the title Ultimate Lucky Student.
Finally, as a 25-year-old man who’d miraculously survived ten years post-diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia and advanced lymphoma before his death.
“Holy shit,” she nearly choked on her own shock, “You weren’t boring, that’s for sure.”
Another paper, this time written in marker as if he could sense that she didn’t wish to get up. Another strangely considerate move.
Thanks
You’re not creeped out?
“I mean, it’s more sad than creepy,” her eyes scanned over a single line in the article once again.
“Nagito Komaeda, after all his fortunes and misfortunes alike, died at age 25, after ten years of illness, surrounded by friends who took the place of family. Out of respect, no interviews were conducted, but anybody, anyone at all even from a quick glance, could tell - Nagito Komaeda will surely be missed.”
Her eyes watered slightly as she clicked out of the Togami Publications, laughing at the pure awkwardness of her situation, “Oh my God, that’s really fucking sad. I’m sorry your life sucked.”
Another paper.
It’s fine
I was just wasting space anyway :)
“No, you were- “ she gestured to her computer screen before covering her eyes in shame of her tears, “You meant so much to your friends.”
She expected memorial posts, maybe not as many as there were, but she saw them coming. What she didn’t see coming, however, was that each and every one would be dearly heartfelt - not a single one was disingenuous or vague in the slightest. She also didn’t see herself crying by the end of her little search.
But there she was.
Something light floated into her lap. A tissue.
“Oh my fucking God,” (Y/n) choked up again, picking up the tissue with a small smile, “Stop, you’re a ghost, you’re supposed to be scary and making me leave, not helping me dry my tears…”
Another paper atop the slowly growing pile.
Was that a ghostphobic remark?
“Oh, I’m keeping that one,” she stood, sniffling as she wiped away her tears, and picked up the last paper, nodding to herself as she muttered, “Yep. This one’s going on the wall.”
~~
Nagito stopped whispering because people ran when he did. His voice was always hideous, he didn’t to be reminded. Besides, (Y/n) seemed to prefer the paper method - she hung up her favorites along the walls of her office and if a visitor teased her about it she would ignore them. It was admirable, how their grins and giggles rolled off her back like water droplets over a duck.
He wished he could be like that.
Could have been.
He still had trouble with that.
Has.
Nagito looks up from his spot at the kitchen table where (Y/n) was cooking for herself. She seemed so at-peace in this house, and he’s glad for that. He never liked living alone and everyone else seemed to hate having him there. Not that he blamed them much.
Even so, he much prefers (Y/n) over any past guest as his living counterpart of the house.
She even leaves chairs open for him at the table; he smiles widely at the thought, patting his thighs and kicking out his legs in his seat- just like now!
She’d pulled out the chair upon entering the kitchen before calling out for him that she’d be cooking. She even knew he liked watching her cook!
It was selfish of him to crave so much attention, but in the end, Nagito was already dead so… did it really matter when he indulged in his wants more than he should?
Divine punishment isn’t real and he likes being around her, so why should he bother hiding himself away in the attic?
(Y/n) moved around the house with little to no liveliness, it made him chuckle. Her shoulders drooped and footsteps heavy, it was fun. To feel like he wasn’t alone.
He hoped she felt the same. That he was a friend… or, undead companion?
He hoped she would stay and not move out.
He hoped they could be real friends one day… if it’s not too much to ask, that once she dies, she’ll meet him. The real him.
That would be heaven.

I have lots of thoughts and feelings about Madre Solo Hay Dos, and this post is an attempt to express it. Since I'm posting through the android app I can't use the keep reading option, so SPOILER ALERT IN CASE YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED MADRE SOLO HAY DOS YET.
-------------------‐------
So, when I began watching I couldn't find a trailer or a teaser, was relying solely on the small synopsis Netflix gave - which honestly was the best thing for me.
It also meant that at fisrt I was really surprised there was a husband at all not to mention two older kids in Ana's life, but I grew up watching enough mexican telenovelas to know that one way or another things would work out (I surely hoped so). But I liked how the story unraveled.
I was also VERY SURPRISED by Mariana and Elena's relationship because I definitely wasn't expecting Mariana to actually be with a woman before falling for Ana.
Juan Carlos cheating on Ana was both expected and utterly irritating (how could he do that when he had such an amazing wife and family?) And it cannot be justified by the fact she was controlling and workaholic. It just isn't, I mean he knew that control was how she showed love - he said it in episode two - and knowing he met her in university he must have known she was and would still be career driven. And to me that marriage was in the verge of ending and not just because he cheated, but for how he treated her. Always making her feel bad on focusing on having a successful career. I like him as a father, he is pretty good. But as a husband to her he was an asshole. I mean I could understand him asking her stop working a little to spend some time with the baby, for health and bonding issues, (and in a way she did need some rest) but I can't say I liked him in the first episode, because as soon as I knew he cheated that was it. But I tolerated him, he had some nice moments.
Pablo made me so pissed at him for the way he treated Mariana, specially after she said no to him. Although I didn't see him as being manipulative at first, I do agree he seemed to only want Regina if Mariana would go back to him. Besides, the fact he kept competing against Elena (he didn't see Ana coming at all and I really love that lol) irritated me. To me he was clearly treating Mariana as if she were some prize. As if she came back to him would prove he was better than Elena, that Idk Mariana was only with Elena because he left you know? Like getting her back was just to boost his ego - just my opinions. If he could work on not being an ass to Mariana just because she doesn't want to go back with him and still be in Regina's life and for all that's holy if he finally stops listening to the jerks he calls friends he could be tolerable.
I like Elena, I don't love her though, but I like her pretty much, however telling Mariana that she was just confused about how she felt for Ana was a jerk move. I get it, she is hurt and maybe she feels like getting revenge because what Mariana did to her wasn't nice (I mean, it was pretty clear she let Elena assume they were more than just friends who occasionally kissed) but still doesn't justify it. Honestly, I don't even think she should have told Mariana that she noticed she fell for Ana. Mariana needed to that on her own (which she was almost there if the gay panic on her face while she looked at Ana during their "bonding" ritual for Regina's spiritual reception was any indication). What happens is I think that Elena accepeted that she had lost Mariana to Pablo, and to her ir made sense: he was there first (in the sense he was her previous relationship), he was a man, and she was the first woman Mariana ever was with, so maybe she was trying new things and he is Regina's father, maybe she even thought Mariana was still in love with him on some level (which is even sadder, honestly). But seeing Mariana fall in love with Ana, made her realize that Mariana likes women, that she can fall in love with another woman, she just never fell for Elena. So yeah, if they don't make her into a manipulative bitch she could still be an awesome character - my headcannon is both Elena and Pablo getting their heads out of their asses and helping Mariana win Ana back.
All of the men in Ana's life are stupid.
Juan Carlos doesn't appreciate all the effort she puts in trying to be a business woman, a good mother and wife. Neither does Daniel, her ex, seems like he actually understood her. While he read a bit of his book to her she seemed very unconfortable, just as when he talked about not being able to keep up with her. And like he said, her smile is beautiful, yes (the woman is masterpiece of beauty) but she's way more than that. However her ex did look like a fool in love when he saw her again (which Juan Carlos never does) and I guess that's what drove her to him.
I'll save the best for last, so bear with me just a bit more before getting to Ana and Mariana. Before I'd like to talk about Teresa.
Even if I wish Mariana didn't hide from Ana what happened I do understand her. First Tere (beautiful woman, wich honestly this show just slayed me with so many beautiful women) is her mom and she is kinda manipulative (although I'm sure she sometimes means well most of the times she doesn't think about the consequences of her actions) and I don't know, I think as strong and as independent Mari is, she does want to have a family that gets along and people here in Latin America sometimes get in too much of that "family is blood" bullshit, and not only Latinex but the rest of the world seems pretty adamant in having children listen and forgive their parents and carry on toxic parent-child relationships because "they are your parents", which sucks, but it's true. And not only that as much as Ana feels hurt I don't think she would have believed Mariana if she told her. After all in 20 years Juan Carlos never seemed to show any signs of ever being unfaithful to her. Even if it was the right thing to do, it's not the easiest decision. It wasn't just a relationship of a married couple it would affect but also JC's relationship with the children, because it does change their view of the parent - hence he cutting Ana before she said to the children she cheated on him. And yes Tere is her mother and the thing about parents (and other immeadiate family members) is that even if they screw us up all the time we always feel like we have to stand by them someway, somehow. And (and it's a very unpopular opinion and I'm not sure if I'll manage to get my point across very well but I'll try) I guess Mariana felt guilty for what Tere did, not only for keeping the secret but for her actions as well. Mariana is always trying to fix things with and/or for Tere and I guess she might have felt guilty over bringing Tere into Ana's life, even if she knows it's not her fault anything happened... but guilt is something really weird, so yeah. why I think she feels guilty is because, well, I don't know how it is for other people, but when living with manipulative people they managed to make you feel bad for things you have nothing to feel sorry for, not to mention that her attempts of protecting and trusting her mother comes from a feeling of guilty of not being able to trust her - which is also another thing both Pablo and Teresa want from Mariana without ever giving her reason to and then making her feel bad about not being able to trust them.
And finally, what I thought of Ana and Mariana's relationship.
I love how Ana and Mariana balance each other, I like the age difference as well. I thinks it sends a great message as well, not only with the cliché that you may find lkve whenever, but that no matter how old or how young are life happens and you have to deal with it. Being married and having a stable life didn't stop Ana from having her life turned upside down, and the same with Mariana, in her case it just meant that her mess of life got even crazier but that just it.
I love how the relationship between Mariana and the kids just flows naturally as well. And I love how Mariana does support Ana and shows she is happy for her a lot more than her own husband. Even if they are not married they do act like each other's partners, at least to me.
I feel like their relationship begins to shift at the end of the first episode when they decided to live together - and 'Flotando' by Francisca Valenzuela playing during the scene, to me, it's a very beautiful and subtle way to say to us viewers that we can and should expect more from their relationship.
However the second episode it feels to me like it's fundamental, specially for Ana. They both fell very silently for each other, and without noticing and I think Ana began falling when Mariana not only broke her rules but defied her and told her the truth everyone else was afraid to say - and not only that that bond the girl began forming with both Ceci and Ro. I loved how she was super attentive in listening how Pablo was a jerk and then being super protective of both Mariana and Regina when he began coming around - but I also loved that she relented, albeit reluctantly, when she saw that Mariana really thought Pablo could be of importance to Regina. The fact that Mariana was so worried in making sure Ana approved of him showed more of how much she valued Ana's opinion than whatever she may feel for her ex, which to me was step 1 of Mariana falling for Ana, step 2 was definitely the scene where she makes faces at Valentina just so the baby would smile at Ana and the woman could be a little happier, and sideways hug was the cherry on top - the way she feels uncertain of it before doing was very well thought out and executed.
The scene where Ana introduces Mariana and Regina as her other daughter and Valentina's other mother without explaining further than "we are the mothers of the two babies" was really such a heartfelt moment I just died.
I loved how after those initial moments they were constantly checking on each other (I really do love when Ana goes check on Mariana after her disaster of day with Anuar and she gently tucks Mariana's hair out her face in such a beautiful caress).
The scene in which Ana is shocked about how Mariana's date went is definitely one great indication of the fact she was feeling something more (I mean, saying that if she were a man she would definitely hit on her? That has got to be the oldest play on the book, the famous "I'd kiss you if I weren't straight"). Also on the same episode but before the horrible date, she did ask Mariana to never again say she wasn't attractive, which I also saw as something more, 'cause she was able to read between the lines. Mariana out loud said she wasn't sure about her body, not really saying she didn't feel pretty but one could read it. I think it meant something because Ana seems not that much of an expert reading people, so to be able to be so certain would mean she really paid attention. When Ana said Mariana should try with someone she trusted I think that she wanted it to be hed, even if she didn't realize yet. Or maybe did. In the episode where she takes time off before accepting her promotion there's a scene after she wakes up that Juan Carlos begins to kiss her, clearly intending to have sex (and they did have it) but her face is like "god this is boring/I don't think I really want to" that just makes me think ok, maybe she's already realizing she wants someone else (I had this impression). The episode where they go away and not only Mariana manages to convince everyone to go without being intrusive it's really nice, I also loved how fast Ana embraced everyone else as family for Mariana and Regina. The pool scene, oh my, I melted. First how pissed Ana was to know that Tere got distracted and Mariana almost drowned and how she instantly went after Mariana to chek on her, and not only trying to calm her about the water, listening to her about her fears and at the end asking if she trusted her (like I said before I really think she already wanted Mariana and knew it) and then the way they looked at each other whilst in the pool with the babies. Perfect!
Ana feeding Mariana the baby food was the cutest, and I know she said the girls weren't ready to be parted because she was afraid of she might have cancer I really do think she also meant because she wanted them there (let's not forget the lengths she went to make Mariana stay when Juan Carlos said he thought it was time to get back to normal).
Ana's "Te amo" makes lots of people think it came out of nowhere, but I don't think so. I really do believe she fell in love with Mariana, silently and without even noticing - the lingering gazes and gentle touches are some indication - and while she was drugged and asked Mariana to promise her to take care of the girls and she did I guess it hit her right then and there how much she fell for her and you know, most people do say that when you're drunk or high you tend to do and say the things you really want to because your filter just doesn't work. So yeah, I admit to me it was both unexpected and not at all.
I keep wondering if Mariana would have told Ana that she kissed her had she not told her she needed to do the biopsy to rule out cancer. Either way I love everything about the scene. How grateful Ana is to know that she can count on Mariana and how fearful Mariana looks. I loved that Mariana just stopped everything to accompany Ana to the hospital.
I loved that Mariana never for one second seemed to think of saying yes to Pablo and how even with all of her mother bs she refused to live with them because Ana needs her.
The baptism is the peak. Their bonding ceremony is not only wedding vows worthy but it's also the it finally hits Mariana that she fell for Ana, and I just love the gay panic she clearly has. I love her face of fool in love when Ana goes to her friends and how happy both of them look while holding the girls through the ceremonies.
Even if I'm very grateful for the declaration and the kiss we got - highlight for the lightning of this scene. The way the sun hits them helps give the impression that they will work it our - however Mariana should've processed her feelings first but I get her, she was afraid of losing Ana without a fighting chance - both for not telling and for Ana may having cancer. That scene is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking with both of them so miserable. The ending is one more proof of how well this show knows to pair scenes and songs. Cobarde's lyrics is so perfect it feels like it was made for the scene (or perhaps the scene was thought for the song).
I really hope we get these two together in season 2 - however I love me some angst, and usually is what we get, so I think that Ana's tests will come back positive and that Mariana will go back to take care of her and things will go on from that.
And that was my TedTalk, thank you for having the patience to read the ramblings of a very enthusiastic viewer.

Sen Çal Kapımı episode 47 asks
Below the read more find asks and answers about episode 47, the fragman for 48 and other miscellaneous things.
(UNDER THE CUT)
Anonymous asked: Hi! I hope you are enjoying your vacation. I remember you mentioned you would be traveling. What were your thoughts on the epi? I think this was one episode where everything was happy! No big problems. The truth about Kemal being Serkan's dad could have been dramatic but Ayse and team wrote it like a romcom. I'm not really feeling the Deniz being the saviour of Artlife like they are portraying in the fragmans but I'll wait for the next epi to make a judgement.
Thank you. Once again, I though the whole episode was a really easy watch and I enjoyed every minute.
I really appreciate the tone this season, even something as series as Serkan’s parentage is played lightly, as you say very much rom com, and not full of heavy melodrama (as it would have been if explored during the 30s). This is exactly the tone and feel of this show that I want.
Serkan’s reaction was predictable, but it was also clear that he just needed time to adjust and settle down and he’ll come around. I like that.
I don’t have time this week to do full episode thoughts, but I enjoyed Serkan and Eda’s morning after conversation. Hilarious that he’d removed all the sharp objects from the room. Loved that after all of Eda’s fear-fueled reticence, once she decided to take the plunge with him, she was all in. Eda admitting that she’d been unbalanced and had been at fault for hiding Kiraz,--and acknowledging that Serkan had been fighting for them and now she wanted to as well-- was very nice. After running a bit hot and cold, Serkan deserved to hear that.
lolo-deli asked: Hard to believe we didn't get a reconciliation scene in 47... Nobody expected sex but we couldn't even get a hug or kiss when they made up? "I want to see that tattoo" was not the romantic reunion I was hoping for. Were you at all disappointed?
IMO, we did see the important part of the reconciliation, and that was the conversation. Sure, I think we should have seen Serkan and Eda kiss in the last episode. If I were in charge we would have, but I don’t think the story actually loses anything because it’s not a mystery what happened.
Clearly, he says the tattoo line and they jump each other, make their way to the bedroom, have sex, but don’t really communicate until the morning when she wakes up, and that’s where the show picks up and we get to see those first important moments.
If you’re looking for romance, then I would point to everything that led up to that tattoo line in 46. That entire episode (and the one before it) was their romantic reconciliation. Moments alone where he takes in her scent and whispers how much he’s missed her, waking up in bed together when they just automatically gravitate to one another, the moments of pretending to be married that were very comedic, but also very soft and romantic (What’s your greatest passion, what’s the first line you ever said to one another), the heartfelt conversation on the bench, the actual tattoo conversation at dinner. That’s the romantic reunion. Yes, if they had just reunited after years (like in episode 40) right before the tattoo line, I  would have needed more romance, but we’ve had 7 episodes of them working their way back to one another. Everything was primed, all they needed was to light the match.  IMO that line did the trick.
So, am I disappointed? No. I’m happy to go with the flow and enjoy every minute of what they do give us in these last few episodes. I choose not to get tied up in what I wish would happen vs what actually happens. I find I don’t enjoy any show when I put the onus on the show to conform to my wishes.
Some might be disappointed, that’s their choice, (and make no mistake, it is a choice) but that’s not how I’m approaching this second season which is serving up so much romance, comedy, and domestic family goodness. I suffered through the 30s so I could get to this, I’m not going to waste any of it being disappointed.
Anonymous asked: Idk why this proposal was the most emotional out of them all for me. Perhaps with the other ones I just KNEW the other shoe had to drop because they couldn't let them get happily married this early and this time I knew it was finally it. Or maybe it was the fact that knowing they're married means the show really is ending soon, but I was a blubbering mess lol. Sure there's drama ahead, but it's definitely not a plane crash and memory loss or a "fake" Selin pregnancy!
Yes! Thank goodness we don’t have any of that nonsense waiting for us.  They are really going to be married.
I enjoyed this proposal very much, it was so sweet the way he planned everything out and had everyone helping, while Eda (and even sort of the audience) was in the dark about what was really going on there.
For me, as far as the words spoken, nothing really tops his speech to her in 27, but the great thing is that we get them all and this was special in it’s own right because he really surprised her and swept her off her feet this time around.  I loved it!
Anonymous asked: So I am confused about Serkan’s ability to have kids- it’s not a problem now? If him being infertile was only temporary, why did he say it was impossible to have kids and it was a part of why he left Eda in the first place so she could have it somewhere else? They could’ve just waited a couple years to have kids then...? I know he also left her cause he was scared of dying but they really made his reaction seem like he’d NEVER be able to have kids
My assumption is that since they were able to have Kiraz, they know it’s possible, so even if it won’t be easy (and fertility is usually not a hard yes/ no line... mostly it’s a measure of how likely it is) they are choosing to believe they will be able to conceive again.
If you’re looking to change what his assumptions were when they first broke up and he thought he was unable to have kids (and that there was a 70% chance the cancer would come back) and deciding he should have made different decisions based on the fact that he was able to father Kiraz... to be blunt you’re looking at it the wrong way.
At that time, he thought he would never be able to have kids. Full stop.  The fact that wasn’t necessarily true doesn’t change what he believed at the time.
Anonymous asked: serkan being the overly protective, worrying, affectionate baba is EXACTLY what i imagined, as i'm sure everyone else did. who else would worry about the pH balance of the soap at their daughter's preschool?! serkan thinking his angel can do no wrong.. of course it was all can's plan to hide them in the bathroom lmao. i hope, and with how this season is going i think we'll get it, we get to see this serkan in action when eda is pregnant too.. even if we just see a couple minutes of it!
YES! I loved overly protective Serkan. Thankfully, for Kiraz’s sake he has Eda (who might be a bit too far the other way) to balance him out.   I agree that it was hilarious how he was trying to blame sweet Can.  Even without seeing what happened, I’m pretty sure anyone else who had spent two minutes with those kids would figure out who the instigator was.  When rabble rousing is going on, I think it’s fair to point to the offspring of Serkan Bolat and Eda Yildiz as the cause, lmao.
It would be great it we got to see glimpses of Serkan as an expectant father and also the father of a newborn.  I would love that.
Anonymous asked: I see that the "Nitpick of the Week" as I'm calling it, this week is where Serkan proposed. Because Serkan Bolat would neeeeever propose in a "parking lot" .. am I the only one seeing that it's not even a parking lot, it's a road. Like if it is a parking lot where are the other cars then lol?! Putting aside that he's proposing outside their literal wedding venue, their entire story started in a parking lot. He told her he loved her for the first time on the side of a road. I'm not understanding.
You make great points!  Their love story did start in a parking lot AND he was trying to pull off both a surprise proposal and a surprise wedding in one day’s notice. Since we’ve already seen a proposal on a plane, a proposal at a piano bar and a proposal at their place of work, I don’t really have the energy to join the discontented masses on twitter and nitpick the location of this proposal. He could have proposed in front of a landfill and I would have been delighted.
Anonymous asked: I'm sorry if you don't find it as funny, but people's reaction to this new fragman is so exaggerated like they're about to witness Indecent Proposal dizi-edition that I literally couldn't help but find it hilarious. Like no where is it ever implied that Deniz is offering Serkan SEX, but when Eda says "just do what you have to" somehow that's the first thing everyone thought of?! Not to mention we know this is Deniz's last ep.. the dramatic reactions really have me dying lmao.
OMG! I know. So this is a show that doesn’t show sex, Serkan didn’t sleep with the woman he thought was his girlfriend during amnesia, Serkan and Eda were both celibate for 5 years, but suddenly they’re gonna have newly-married Serkan go to the edge width Deniz?!?!?!  Those people on twitter lost their damn minds.
On Saturday, I was on vacation and had just popped in to see if the new fragman was released, I was happy to nope right out of there when I saw the insanely melodramatic overreaction to the fragman.
It’s obvious that since the biggest issue between Eda and Serkan is Eda’s fear that Serkan will always prioritize work over her, as he did on their first wedding day, this story is to show that Serkan will 100% choose Eda over work and Art Life.  Also I’m sure the episode will have the same tone as the rest of the season, which is light and comedic.
Anonymous asked: sometimes I go back to episode 28 and still can't believe they got that bathtub + shower scene in there with the rtuk guidelines. I've watched a couple more romcoms since starting SCK and have never seen anything close to that. I know they got fined afterwards but they were really like "screw it, we're going it for anyway" 😂
It’s interesting that the production company and network went for it there. But as you say they did get fined, so they didn’t get away with anything.

Coach pulled Michael aside after debatably the worst game of his life.
“What’s going on with you?” he demanded.
Michael stared at him, blinking slowly as he tried to reorient his mind. Ever since he discovered that Eff was really a Manes, that this “family business” they had was torturing aliens, he hadn’t been functioning very well. It’d only gotten worse after Alex called him out and Michael couldn’t tell him no, suddenly having to balance a very hush-hush relationship on top of everything else. He adored him, but fuck. Now he was just paranoid and tired. That was it. Everything else, every other feeling or brain wave, fell to the wayside because he didn’t have the energy.
That meant playing a shitty game of football where he nearly broke his nose from tripping over the ball.
“I’m just… off day,” Michael said, avoiding eye contact as he took out his mouthguard. He then moved to start taking off his jersey and his shoulder pads. He usually wouldn’t do that while in the middle of the conversation with his Coach, but they felt ridiculously heavy and he wasn’t sure how much longer he could stay upright with them.
“Off month, more like it,” Coach said, eyeing him, “You know you’re my responsibility, right?”
“Yes, Coach.”
“Then tell me what’s going on,” he said. Michael stayed silent. He couldn’t tell him what was actually going on and he didn’t have the brainpower to come up with a good lie. “Is this about anything that happened with your whole… coming out process? You’d tell me if any of the guys were messing with you, wouldn’t you? And if it’s your dad that ain’t responding well, then I can have a talk with him too.”
Michael blinked at him and it took him a few seconds to realize he had tears in his eyes. It wasn’t even a heartfelt speech, it was just too much. Too much to know another person cared about him enough to say something, too much to know that his list of people who would be hurt by his stupidity was a bit longer. He was beginning to think that maybe he should just tell everyone he was an alien so they’d stop giving a shit about him.
“It’s fine, I’m just off. Distracted,” Michael said. Coach didn’t look satisfied.
“You got scouts out there,” he said, “So you better stop being distracted.”
And that sounded a lot more like Coach.
When Michael walked out to his truck, he found that it was already preoccupied. It wasn’t too uncommon for him to find a Manes in his passenger seat. This just happened to be the Manes he was dreading.
“I thought you were good,” Eff said as Michael carefully climbed into the driver’s seat. It felt like a trick, but maybe he could drive off a cliff and fix everything. Ah, but that was just wishful thinking.
“I am,” Michael said, “Usually.”
“Guess you should’ve thought about that before you tried to corrupt my baby brother,” Eff said. Michael stared out the window and made a point not to say anything about how Eff had been screwing him over before he realized he was with Alex. He seemed to momentarily forget that this had all started because Michael was born. That was it.
“Shed?”
“Yep.”
Michael stayed silent through the drive as he had been these days. For a while there, he’d sort of accepted his fate and was starting to be a bit more talkative. Hell, he’d even gotten to a point where he thought Eff might give a shit about his well being. Now he knew that was just wishful thinking. Every conversation they had that may have given the illusion that Eff didn't hate him was just a figment of his imagination.
“Is your dad gonna question where you are?” Eff asked. Is yours? Michael thought.
“No,” he said instead.
Eff huffed a laugh, “My dad would kick my ass if I showed up later than I said.” It almost felt childish at that point, like Eff was trying to get him in trouble with his dad. It was so stupid.
The longer Michael drove, the more he thought that perhaps he shouldn’t be driving. His eyes were heavy and each blink seemed harder to come out of. Still, he somehow made it to the shed without driving off the road.
They entered the shed in silence and Michael sat on his chair-of-hell where all of his injections and electrocutions took place. Maybe whatever Eff had in store would wake him up.
“Here,” Eff said. Michael lulled his head to the side to look at him, seeing him holding out an energy drink that had already been opened.
“Did you poison it or something?” Michael asked. Eff laughed softly.
“No, just drink it,” he said. Michael hesitantly accepted it and took a sip, deciding that if it was poisoned he wouldn’t really care. Eff sat down across from him and stared at him for a moment. Somehow, it was infinitely less uncomfortable than all the times Michael looked over his shoulder in school and expected to see him there when he wasn’t. “Look, I hate even saying this, but credit where credit is due. I appreciate you ending shit with my brother. Alex is great, I get it, and it took balls to break up with him when I know he probably didn't make it easy."
Michael felt a bit frozen in his spot. That was an understatement. Such a massive understatement that Michael hadn't been able to pull it off at all.
"I don't like knowing that aliens have, like, feelings and shit," Eff continued, looking to the side as if this conversation was just that unbearable. And he had no idea how unbearable it was for Michael himself. "But I do know you care about him which I can respect. But that shit's not safe, not with you being what you are and not with my dad being who he is. You get that, don't you?"
"Why does it feel like you're being nice to me?" Michael asked. He was beginning to wonder if he really had no self-preservation skills at all. Eff rolled his eyes.
"You just picked the wrong guy. I wanted to keep Alex away from all this," Eff elaborated, "So pick someone else."
Somehow, as genuine as he sounded, it still felt like a low blow. Michael couldn't pick someone else. Even if he had broken up with Alex, even if he never liked him in the first place, he was still a personal experiment for Eff. Anyone who got close to him wasn't safe. So that was that.
"Yeah," Michael said.
They sat in silence for a few minutes, Michael sipping tiredly on his drink and Eff just watching him like he was trying to decide where to start. Who knew what kind of shit he had up his sleeve that he hadn't done yet.
Eff eventually stood up in silence and Michael's eyes followed him, watching him open up the small mini-fridge and pull out a vile of something. Dread pooled in Michael's stomach. He wasn't sure what Eff had dosed him with that time where it had him fucked up for a solid week, but he wasn't interested in a repeat.
"When's the last time you slept?" Eff asked. Michael shrugged because he didn't have a proper answer. He slept all the time, but he wasn't sure the 10-minute sleep session due to sheer exhaustion before he woke himself up in a panic actually counted as sleep. "Yeah, that's a problem. This is gonna help you sleep."
"Here?" Michael asked, eyes widening just a little.
"Does it look like I have a place for you to sleep? Take it and I'll take you home, it should kick in by the time you get to bed and it'll knock you out for, like, eight hours," Eff said. Michael didn't have the energy to say no. Sleeping for eight hours straight sounded amazing.
He turned his head as Eff rolled up his sleeve and wiped the spot of his arm like he was actually concerned for him. He stuck him with a syringe and Michael could feel the moment it started to set in.
"I'm driving," Eff said as if that wasn't already obvious.
Michael tried to stand to his feet, but he felt woozy and held onto the chair to steady himself. Eff eventually stepped up to him and grabbed his arm, carrying the brunt of his weight.
"Jesus, what did my brother see in you?"
Eff got him into the passenger side of his truck and closed the door and Michael couldn't find it in himself to care that Eff was driving his truck. He was just tired.
The drive home passed in a blur and Michael felt himself being pulled out of his truck before he could even register it. He leaned on Eff without thought and let himself be all but carried inside and placed in bed by the man who had made it his goal to torture him. He was covered up and his keys were placed on his desk and the doors were all locked back.
Michael fell into a dreamless sleep for the first time in a long time.
-
The next morning, Michael was left running over the night before in his head.
Truly, none of it made sense. Eff wasn't just empathetic like he'd been on occasions when he realized Michael had feelings, he'd actually been kind. Was it his small payback for Michael ending things with Alex? Was it something else entirely? He probably wouldn't get an answer.
Michael stayed in bed for a while, letting his mind torture him with too many thoughts as he tried to analyze Eff's actions. It didn't work. And, in fact, the sleep didn't help him feel any better. It just made him alert enough to be back to panicking. There were so many things that could and would go bad. He was on borrowed time. Before he knew it, shit would hit the fan and he just wasn't excited for that.
Sanders kept quiet, just watching him and making sure he didn't become a disaster before his eyes. The day slid by at an agonizing pace. But it was fine.
He texted Alex a little bit--through an app instead of on his actual phone which had taken more than a little convincing than he wanted to admit, but he wasn't about to risk Eff finding out.
Alex: you ignoring me again?
Michael: no, how could I?
Alex: big talk coming from you
Michael: :(
Alex: when can I see you? I feel like I've earned at least a couple blowjobs
Alex: payback for being a dick to me
Michael: I'll do whatever you want. Maybe we can meet up somewhere tomorrow night?
Alex: my dad isn't going to be home until Tuesday just sneak in
Michael: idk if that's a good idea
Alex: okay.
Michael: don't be mad
Alex: not mad, all I said was okay
Michael: which is code for mad.
Alex: okay.
Michael: I'll see what I can do. I miss you
Alex: I miss you too
And it was fine. Alex got a little less upset and it was fine. Or it was until he got a text from Eff. All it said was: Rest. Tomorrow is a full-day affair. And that was enough to scare the shit out of him.
He didn't know what classified as a full-day affair to Eff, but it didn't matter. Whatever it was, it wasn't good. It was going to be a day of misery. How many more things could he get through and survive it?
As much as he tried to rest, it didn't work. Michael was nervous and dreading whatever was to come. By the time morning came around once again and that car was outside waiting for him, Michael hadn't slept.
"Are you ready?" Eff asked as he mindlessly climbed into the passenger seat. He took a deep breath.
"Yeah."
-
"Michael. Michael, wake up."
There were very few times in Michael's life where he'd describe himself as overworked. Out of all of those times, he'd never drained himself to the point that he passed out. He supposed there was a first time for everything.
When his eyes slowly dragged open, he was more than a little surprised to see Eff over him and almost looking concerned. It almost had him laughing if he wasn't so disoriented.
"You can't fucking die on me yet," Eff said once he opened his eyes. Michael didn't move. His body felt weak and he was pretty sure his muscles had melted into the ground. He wanted to go home.
"Sorry," he murmured.
"You've only been doing shit for a couple of hours, you've strained yourself more than this before. That sedative I gave you on Friday shouldn't still be in your system," Eff said. He grabbed Michael's arms and hauled him into a sitting position, but Michael couldn't hold his own weight up and Eff eventually let him lay back down. "What are you good for if you're just going to let yourself be this useless?"
Michael's eyes slid closed and he tried to think of anything except for this.
He expected more scolding, more yelling, possibly an injection of whatever sort of wild alien steroid he had today. Instead, Eff pressed the back of his hand against Michael’s forehead then to his cheeks. He might’ve opened his eyes to look at him like he’d lost it if he wasn’t so fucking exhausted.
“You’re overheated. Your nose bled a little, but not as much as I would’ve expected before you passed out, so I guess that’s a good thing. We’ll take a break,” Eff said, voice careful. He stood up and walked away, leaving Michael on the floor.
Sometimes, if Michael really thought about it, he wondered if Eff knew that he was basically making him stronger. Yes, draining him in the moment and making him feel weak and out of control, but Michael had never had someone push his limits before when it came to this. Maybe if Michael played nice, he’d be able to overpower him one day, hide the body, and get his normal life back. He could. It was an option.
It was an option. Huh. That was nice.
A hand grabbed the back of Michael’s neck, supporting him as he was dragged into a sitting position once again. That hand stayed there as a cup of water met his lips and he was all but forced to drink. He had a million questions running through his head, all tying back to wondering why the hell Eff was treating him nicely all of the sudden. Maybe he actually felt bad for once. Probably not.
“If you die, my brother will probably be more upset than he already is, so I’m gonna need you to drink,” Eff said dryly. Michael obeyed.
The rest of the day passed by in a blur. Eff let him rest for a short amount of time before dragging him outside again to push his limits again. A little electrotherapy here, a bit of pinpricks there, and he had Michael throwing shit with his telekinesis over three hundred pounds. Michael would’ve been proud if his body wasn’t aching and his brain wasn’t pointless.
When he finally got to go home and the day settled in, Michael was back to being a mess. Eff was being nice to him. Too nice. He was planning something, he had to be. Was he going to kidnap him anyway? Was this just the beginning of the end, trying to make him trust him?
Michael forgot all about meeting up with Alex until he found himself outside his window which would’ve been a lot less worrisome if he remembered anything in between leaving the shed and ending up there. Even when he tried to remember, he couldn’t.
“I thought you said you didn’t want to come over,” Alex said, leaning against the windowsill and blocking Michael’s way in.
Truthfully, Michael had only been to Alex’s house a total of two times, both just to stop by so Alex could grab something and they didn’t stay long. Now knowing what kind of business his family was in, Michael was glad he hadn’t stayed. And yet, today, all he wanted was to be in Alex’s bed. He was going to get fucked over anyway.
“Can you just hold me for a while?” Michael asked. Any sort of antagonizing Alex had in mind went away and he nodded, moving out of the way. Michael climbed in and nearly fell twice in the process, not even able to laugh it off when he needed Alex’s help.
For the first time in what felt like weeks, Michael was pulled into Alex’s arms. His head was cradled against Alex’s shoulder, he was tugged down onto his bed, he was held and he was warm and he was safe. Safe enough. As safe as he would get.
They laid there for a long while, nothing but the sound of their breathing as Alex combed through his hair. Michael faded in and out of consciousness at the sensation, secretly hoping to just let his mind fade away forever into the feeling. That would be a good way to go.
But, then again, he couldn’t have anything nice.
“Michael,” Alex whispered, “When are you going to tell me what’s going on?”
Michael didn’t respond, but his grip on Alex tightened a little and that seemed to be all Alex needed to know there was, in fact, something going on. He readjusted himself a little and touched Michael’s cheek. It took a few seconds to successfully get him to meet his eyes.
“I’m not stupid. Something’s been going on, but I’ve stayed quiet. How much longer are you gonna leave me having to assume? Because my assumptions are getting wilder,” Alex said, trying to tease a little to lighten the mood.
The issue was the truth was wild. How do you tell your boyfriend you’re actually an alien from the 1940s and you’re currently being used as an experiment by his big brother who he loves? Alex would laugh in his face or just leave him. Or maybe Eff was wrong and Alex did know and Alex would start experimenting on him too. He could take a lot, but he didn’t think he could take that.
Michael sniffled and focused on Alex’s collarbone, reaching out to touch it. He ran his fingers over it a few times and hoped Alex would just drop it.
“You don’t have to tell me,” Alex said softly, “But you know you can trust me, don’t you? I’m not going to hate you or be disgusted by you or anything. I might even be able to help?”
Michael’s throat began to tighten and he swallowed hard. He thought about Eff and his weird niceness and how he’d probably make him disappear soon, how Michael probably didn’t have much time left with Alex at all.  How did he get in the position where he once had all the time in the world to having none at all?
He dragged his hand up to touch Alex’s lips. They were as soft as always and his breath was warm against his fingertips. He couldn’t remember the last time he kissed him. Hell, he could barely remember the last time they’d been able to spend this much time together in person. Then again, this had been one of the longest weeks of his life. Longest few months. Or, just nothing before it felt real.
Michael moved up to give him a kiss, one that was hardly a kiss at all and seemed to only be reciprocated because of how long it’d been. Alex broke it seconds after it started, shaking his head.
“Michael,” he whispered, “You‒”
“I love you,” Michael said earnestly.
Alex let out a shaky breath. It shouldn’t have been such a hard thing to say and he probably could’ve said it sooner. He knew most of the people he’d been friends with who said ‘I love you’ within the first month of dating someone‒the first week, even.
This just happened to be a bit more serious than that.
“I’m not saying that because of… I’m saying it because I mean it. Because I don’t know when or if I’ll get to tell you later. I want you to know just in case,” Michael said. Alex’s eyebrows only tugged together more and he scooted closer.
“Just in case? What do you mean? What’s going on?” Alex said, worry lacing his soft and sweet voice. God, he was so good. He couldn’t possibly know. He couldn’t possibly be in on the bullshit his family enacted.
“I should go.”
“What? No, stop,” Alex said, his knee wedging between Michael’s thighs to lock his leg around his at a weak attempt to keep in place. “What are you talking about?”
“Nothing,” Michael said, relaxing back into his bed. He was too tired to really try to leave even if he wanted to. And he really, really didn’t.
“It’s obviously not nothing and you’re freaking me out,” Alex said, looking him over, “I was assuming it was something to do with your adoption or something and you were playing it straight for your social worker, but that’s obviously not it.”
Michael sighed and blinked slowly, tempted to just keep his eyes closed. When he opened them again, Alex was just staring at him.
“Next assumption was that you got into drugs. Have you? And if you have, let me help you,” Alex pressed, “Let me and your dad help you. You know he asked me what was wrong with you, right? Like, everyone’s noticed. So, just, like, stop talking like you’re never going to see me again. Let me fix it.”
Michael laughed dryly and turned his face into the pillow before he started crying where Alex could see. What was it with Alex and Sanders both being so eager to fix what they had no hand in? It didn’t make sense.
“Did you like accidentally fuck over a drug dealer or something and that’s why you’ve been staying away from me and distant and paranoid? Because we can go to the police and, and figure it out,” Alex continued, “You’re worrying me and I don’t like it.”
Michael took a few breaths until he could trust that his voice wasn’t going to embarrass him. “I’m not doing or dealing drugs and I haven’t pissed off any drug dealers.”
“Then what is it?”
“What happened to not pushing?” Michael murmured. Alex didn’t respond as he let his head hit the pillow.
They laid in silence for a bit longer, tension between them that wasn’t there before. Michael should just tell him. What was the worst that could happen? He was already living in the worst timeline, he might as well just say it.
But that was easier said than done. It was something he needed to talk to Isobel and Max about‒if he could even talk to Isobel and Max without anything bad happening. The idea of it made him feel like he was being choked. Everything made him feel like that recently.
Alex’s hand suddenly touched the back of his neck and Michael was brutally hit with the comparison to the feeling of his brother’s hand on his neck. Eff was rough and firm while Alex’s touch was soft and warm. He wouldn’t mind if that touch stayed there indefinitely. And it seemed to stay there for a while, simply working into his neck.
When Alex pulled his leg away from Michael’s, he almost broke the silence to say something to keep him there. But Alex was pulling Michael onto his stomach and climbing onto his back before he had the chance. His hands worked into the multitude of weeks worth of tension in his shoulders and his neck, carefully trying to make him pliant under his fingers. Michael wasn’t sure it’d work, but he wasn’t going to tell him no.
The longer that went on, however, the more Michael found himself feeling guilty. He was a shitty boyfriend. He tried to think of the last nice thing he’d done for Alex out of the sea of nice things Alex had done for him. Sure, Michael was going through his own shit, but he was letting Alex worry and pushing him away and then letting Alex take care of him after it all. This wasn’t what he had in mind when he thought about getting Alex for real. It was supposed to be Alex parading around in his letterman jacket, it was supposed to be racking up tardy slips because he was late after blowing Alex in his truck, it was supposed to be good.
And Alex had stayed good. Michael was the one who was fucking him over.
“Alex,” Michael said softly. He hummed in question, pressing into a knot in between his shoulders that nearly had him crying all over again. “Alex, what would you say if I told you the truth?”
Alex paused for just a moment before getting back to it.
“I already told you.”
“Even if I say I’m an alien and there’s a guy who found out and is basically using me as a science experiment and I can’t do anything about it because he’s got military connections and I can’t go to the cops because, again, alien,” Michael said in one breath, half into the pillow. Alex stopped for a much longer moment this time.
“That’s not funny,” Alex said softly.
“I didn’t think it was.”
More silence, more breathing, more waiting. Michael was sure he was going to be thrown out of his house. It was the logical next step.
“Science experiment?” Alex asked slowly. Michael nodded. “Like, cuts you open?”
Michael huffed a laugh, “Not yet, thank god.” Alex didn’t laugh. “Usually sticking needles into pressure points that set off shit in me and electrocution. Sometimes injects me with, like, alien steroid type things.”
“Michael.”
“Could be worse, though, ‘cause he hasn’t cut me open,” Michael said. Alex made a pained little noise and then laid on Michael’s back. It was distinctly different than being kicked out. “Aren’t you freaked out? I’m an alien.”
“I’ve had sex with you and I didn’t find a zipper,” Alex murmured into the back of his neck. Michael breathed a sigh of relief that mixed with a laugh. If more tears came, they met the pillow immediately. “Don’t worry, I’ll help.”
“Alex, you can’t‒”
“I can,” Alex said firmly, “Give me a few days to come up with something.”
Michael didn’t know what to say, so he said nothing. Later, he’d find a way to tell Alex that wasn’t an option. Currently, though, he’d stay right here.
Here, he was safe and warm and that’s all he cared about.

Thoughts on Episode 26 of SCK
In short--I loved it.
There is a lot I could say about it, and I’m sure most of it has already been said by people far more eloquent than I.  But I haven’t written down my thoughts about an episode in while and if ever there was an episode to talk about, well, this one was certainly it.
There was a post I saw going around a few weeks ago about how sometimes enjoying a piece of media means viewing it with a measure of grace.  As a critical person by nature, I thought a lot about what that means, and I’ve decided that it means that sometimes, a piece of media may not be perfect, but if the soul is there, that is the only thing that matters.
So, I think one of the major issues I’ve seen talked about with 26 is that it felt too good.  And to some degree, that makes sense.  Let’s be honest, 22-25 were not very good.  They had great singular moments, but taken as a whole, they were a bit of a mess.  20-21 gave us beautiful set up and direction and forward movement with not only Serkan and Eda as a couple, but as individuals, and that’s even with the contract mess.  But then 22 and 23 came along and we have Eda acting like a brat, intimate scenes that were cute and hot but ultimately a let down since the end result was always an “I love you” from Serkan followed by an -_- face from Eda, and basically no real forward movement with their relationship or character at all.  Add the introduction of one of the worst characters in television, and you kind of had a mess.  And while 24 was better, it still felt weird.  Serkan is acting distant, Eda is acting married, and again, no going anywhere until the last 5 minutes of the episode.  Plus the long awaited BA shows up and it turns out she’s a Disney villain with even thinner motives.  Then there was 25, which I think left most of the fandom feeling empty.  Serkan and Eda are at their very lowest possible point, and all their friends and family don’t seem to care and the amount of Edser scenes was too low to give us enough to not want to rage at the final scene. Plus, dubbed Prince showed up attempting to recreate a plot from Vampire Diaries and welp.
So in 26, we start with what should be a devastated Eda and Serkan who have no path back to each other.  We were fully expecting another few weeks of breakup and Eda having to chase Serkan and more moping and more sadness and we didn’t get that.  Instead, we start with an Eda who is ready to do whatever it takes to spend as little time away from Serkan as possible and a Serkan who isn’t going to let go.  His plan is brilliant, and it works.  He knows something fishy is going on--despite her words the night before, which certainly hurt, she was also literally in tears and had been for the whole day.  And he knows she loves him.  In a way, his actions at the start of 26 are another brilliant parallel to the beginning of 19--Serkan breaks and decides to tell Eda everything the moment it becomes clear that she might actually move on with her life and he will lose her forever.  Eda breaks at the beginning of 26 when it’s clear Serkan is going to be a cool cucumber about everything and stop chasing her.  (I’m saying they could have probably solved all their issues in 15 if Eda had asked Efe on a date-Serkan would have been on his knees confessing and proposing in 10 min. flat, but I digress.)
No, they don’t have a ton of conversation in this.  There aren’t heartfelt, long dialogs about the wrongs they’ve done and the things they feel.  Frankly, they aren’t necessary.  Serkan has, at this point, said all he needs to say and he couldn’t be clearer.  And while we still haven’t heard Eda say “I love you”, her actions this episode show it, and he knows it, and well, if that end scene isn’t the biggest “I love you” idk what is.
I was talking with @lolo-deli about the episode and she made an excellent point.  I’ll quote here “Their conversation in hall was short in dialogue but heavy in meaning and implication. In very few words they established: last night was real (and implied to be meaningful), she needs time to work out some complications (he understands what this means, she loves him and the break up was what was not real) and he will both trust her and wait for her without pressuring her AND he's still worried about her (in this case over Seyman which turns out to be a non-factor ama neyse!). That's a lot of important conversation wrapped up in a a 90 sec convo but it fits them because they understand one another very well.”
This is true of their conversation in the conference room after.  They almost go back down the jealousy fight spiral we’ve seen 100 times, but instead, Eda stops herself, Serkan stops himself, and instead of fighting, they talk and both agree they were wrong and acting silly and reaffirm their love and trust for each other.  In fact, both of them verbalize to their friends that they are 100% sure of the other and their feelings--they aren’t threatened by the Prince and B because of their fear of losing the other, but because both of those characters are creepy and dangerous and unhinged.
I was okay with this episode because we spent 21 episodes watching them grow apart and together--sure the previous episodes were rough, but it was a transitional period.  I’m giving grace--and to quote lolo-deli again  “They trust each other, it's really that simple. We didn't need to have a half hour of conversation to establish that. Just like we don't need to see Eda chasing Serkan for two more episodes to prove she loves him because she does. Also simple. We know and he knows it. He deserved affirmation and he got it, she bloody well proposed marriage.”
And this is how I feel.  26 wasn’t perfect--I still didn’t care for the AAA plot, Thor and Barf need to be gone fast, and BA is kind of a one dimensional villain I want to like more than I do.  Engin and the rest of the friends were better this episode--Serkan and Engin talked for the first time in what feels like forever, Melo and Ceren were excellent support for Eda, and Serkan and Ferit are still on track to becoming the besties I want them to be.  I’m not 100% sure what Eda’s plan is to get around BA, although maybe she decided to take Serkan’s advice from 13 and just let it all burn down around them and they will be stronger together for it.  Honestly, Serkan was back and on fire this episode (and hotter than ever as a result) so maybe she knows that together, it doesn’t matter what BA is gonna do.
We don’t know what is coming in the next few weeks, or what is left in front of us.  We’ve had a string of disappointing episodes.  But Serkan and Eda have been apart for 11 episodes and they are finally back together and on the same page at the same time for the first time ever in their relationship.
In closing, I’ll leave you with this.  Regardless of how you feel about 26, Eda Yılız, chronic “leaper before looker” took the time to steal back Serkan’s ring, get together that look, find the world’s most extra ring box, sneak onto Serkan’s private plane, and then recreate their first real moment together (which we were oh so recently reminded of) in order to ask the love of her life to marry her.  And that is beautiful, no matter how many subplots get lost or editing goes bad.  Eda Yıldız asked Serkan Bolat to marry her with a ring with her name inside it on a plane where they first went from “nothing to something”.  Poetry and  parallels and I loved it.

You know what always bugged me about Jaune attacking Oscar (aside from the obvious)? It felt like he took advantage of the fact that Oscar was a defenseless child. I doubt he'd have the gall to attack Ozpin in his previous body. Now with Qrow on the other hand, I'm not too sure. One of his more consistent traits is picking fights when he shouldn't.
I don’t know, Jaune didn’t have any trouble charging at Cinder, or lashing out at Qrow around the campfire (though he didn’t attack him physically.) It seems like Jaune was willing to lash out at anyone who might have possibly sort of contributed to Pyrrha’s choice and he seemed more controlled by his grief more than logic or power complex. Idk, thinking he’d be just as physical with adult Professor Ozpin doesn’t seem too far off base. He was pretty illogical. Like, not trying to throw shade. And he did get it right to blame Cinder, obviously, although I feel like Jaune of all people charging at Cinder should’ve resulted in more injury to him than it did.  His actions were frustrating, but were at least understandable for someone (especially a teenager) dealing with grief. But Oscar deserved a sincere apology from him and I’m so glad we started moving on from that.
...If Penny’s death triggers an ‘aggressive Jaune trying to find someone to blame and lashing out at everyone 2.0′ I’ll be very annoyed.
As for Qrow, I didn’t think he’d punch Oz at all before it happened and it confused the living daylights out of me. His fight with Winter was when he was seemingly in a pretty good mood and it seemed like a mutual grudge match he was more or less enjoying. And even though Winter seemed to take it much more seriously, there were moments where she was acting like it wasn’t all that serious too.
Tumblr media
Qrow Vs Winter really read like an anime fight where you knew the stakes were low and they weren’t really out to hurt each other - and the person that actually got the closest to breaking that feeling was Winter. Qrow’s other conflicts like his spat with James and his arguing with Raven, those were all verbal fights. Qrow and Winter was (if I recall correctly) the only time we saw him actively get physical with an ally or even a former ally who hadn’t revealed themselves to be working with Salem yet, and again, Winter was the one who first started trying to deal blows and she’s the one who seemed more violent.
I mean, this is Qrow with Raven pre-her working with Salem.
Tumblr media
And this is Qrow when she showed up at Haven with Cinder to help her steal the Relic.
Tumblr media
So the understanding I at least was working with was that Qrow - while prone to arguments and being rude and disrespectful - wasn’t just a violent person. He fought with Winter because they had some messed up understanding linked to their school-rival-like relationship, and she was the exception, rather than the rule. Outside of her, he only seemed to get physical when the situation demanded a fight.
So Qrow just punching an ally - and longtime friend - because it’d been revealed that he’d lied to Qrow - albeit, about an important detail - seemed really out of left field for me considering the prior established thresh-hold of who he’s willing to attack. Qrow didn’t even reach for a weapon with Raven in the bar while she was getting in the way of Oz’s life saving plans out of selfishness and cowardice and being dismissive of Yang’s pain to his face plus acting kind of aggressively herself. But he was ready to shoot her the minute he thought she had gone to Salem. But Oz wasn’t revealed as having done some horrible, evil, non-understandable thing. He was revealed to have lied out of desperation about something admittedly important in his effort to do what he could to save people. Although I  would’ve liked Qrow to take his side from the beginning, it makes sense for his character to have been mad, upset, and to have lashed out. Like I said before, what Qrow is known to get into is serious verbal fights. But punching Oz? When Oz clearly wouldn’t defend himself? When he’s in a body of a child? When his abuse at the hands of Salem was just revealed? That so didn’t even feel like Qrow!
In my opinion, the punch wasn’t a trackable, Qrow-like reaction that made sense. The punch was what started the whole ‘Qrow is violent’ spiral. It was so out there that I had tried to come up with an explanation (like 'maybe there was an Apathy near by they just didn't know about?') And then I started trying to reason that Qrow seeming to slide into deeper depression and drinking heavier was because he felt super bad about it and he was going to give a big heartfelt apology in Volume 7 when Oz came back, which obviously didn't happen. And then the writers randomly had Qrow fight Clover with Tyrian and decide James was at fault for it and get determined to kill him for most of a season without even having gotten the whole story, plus picking fights with Harriet, only to try and talk her down in the next scene he's in?
Qrow punching Oscar felt like an isolated incident that I was willing to consider a really weird and bad mistake on the part of the creators without throwing out the character, but then in seasons seven and eight, he got more violent and less loveable. But confusingly, sometimes Qrow acts like he used to. He waffles between Good Qrow and Bad Qrow sometimes, and sometimes on a scene by scene basis. Good Qrow would totally try and talk Harriet down, whereas Bad Qrow would totally knock her to the ground and taunt her about getting that fight she wanted. It's so weird to see such disjointed writing that makes characters feel so back and forth. It’s not just Qrow, the CRWBY writers have a tendency to just write whatever they think feels valid in the moment without considering the larger character journeys, I think. And once they start hearing complaints, sometimes they double down, but sometimes they start trying to write their characters to act differently without addressing the flaw itself. Like having Yang act like Summer is her mom again, or having Blake suddenly acting like she's really close friends with Ruby, or having Winter suddenly act like she was against the things she’d been totally fine with last season. So there's every chance they're just gonna pretend Qrow never did the violent things he did, and never address the punch or how he helped fight Clover or how he wanted to kill Ironwood. It's possible season nine or ten will feature Qrow acting like his Volume 3 - 5 self again and the writers just expecting everyone to roll with it.
... I spent way too long talking about Qrow. XD Oh well.

What was OP thinking when Harry asked him to rename him? And then his happy dancing? Bc tbh that was cute as hell and OP just—fritzing was also funny
Aww thanks, I had a lot of fun writing such an adorable scene!
Sorry about the wait, I got a weirdly intense influx of business. Idk why every third family in my area had to vacation right now.
I’m just gonna jump right into it, since I really did love that scene and would be happy to expand on it a little further.
At first he was completely shocked. He really thought it was gonna be Ratchet who named him if Harry was gonna pick a new name at all, so that came right out of nowhere.
And then when Harry asks about shooting him down, some jaded part of Optimus wonders if Harry simply doesn’t want a new name and is using Optimus’ comparatively calmer presence to come to terms with that.
He was glad to provide security, it was his duty, but it would be unwise to hope for more.
As a Prime and then, later, as the Prime who banished the Allspark, he hadn’t ever thought he’d have the opportunity to name a sparkling. He hadn’t even considered it, the notion was so far past what he felt could he had the right to expect.
Still, on the off-chance Harry was being sincere, no matter how unlikely, he would give Harry the one and only name Prime would ever give another being.
He spent the entire night silent and apart from the others, contemplating all he knew of Harry. They hadn’t interacted directly very often, but Prime was always watching, always checking on the physical and spiritual wellbeing of their youngest charge.
It was a difficult decision.
What he’d seen, since their very first day at the base, was humbling. Harry was a gentle creature, naturally empathetic with a strong sense of justice. Genuinely good sparks like that were rare to the point of nonexistence now, an age of battle and death had tarnished even the most honorable of Autobots by the end.
Besides that, how could Prime concisely summarise even a vague approximation of the hopes and wishes pinned on Harry at this very moment? The first child in a millennia, holder of the Allspark, alien-born, so much of him was new and stunningly bright in their darkest hour.
When Harry finally reconvenes with him the following morning, Prime awaits his decision. He’ll make his peace with whatever Harry decides, whether it be to ignore him completely, contemplate the matter further, or demand his answer as soon as they come to a halt out beyond the base.
It was then, when Harry did ask for a name, that he understood his own caution to be a complete lie. He hadn’t realized how much of himself he’d invested in this endeavor, how unfathomably precious this moment would be to him, until Harry peered up at him oh so shyly, and requested Prime’s designation.
This wasn’t a duty, Prime realized past the searing ache of his own spark expanding far past the limits of its casing, it was a gift in every meaning of the word. And he had been desperate to recieve it.
It was all he could do to croak out his heartfelt gratitude. Wonder was such a rare thing to feel, and yet Prime felt fit to bursting. He had inspired within the last sparkling enough trust and affection to allow him a lifelong connection, and he wasn’t terribly certain how to exist in a world wondrous enough for that to occur.
He can see it the moment Harry accepts, the flurry of coding burrowing it into the deepest recesses of Harry’s processors, overwriting and overruling until it is Silverline who looks back at him.
And Prime...soaks it in. Like a flower towards the sun, he is enraptured. For once, he is not a Prime staring down at his charge, that is much too plain for what he’s feeling. Formalities and obligations withered and died in the intensity of his own vulnerability. Here, he is simply Optimus, watching over his child.
Silverline warbles a simple thanks over his com, as if he hadn’t given him the greatest blessing Prime could dream of, as if Prime could part with any of his own gratitude and share it with the sparkling. He is helpless to communicate this, though. The appropriate words too grand and complicated to fit past the lump in his throat.
Silverline’s expressive optics shimmer with gentle care, his posture is open and utterly relaxed, and his charming little wings pluck and pull at his heartstrings with every swoop.
Optimus doesn’t dare reach out and interrupt the sparkling, he’s never had the privilege of being so close to Silverline without a pall snuffing out any of his natural light and he couldn’t bear to ruin this moment stumbling through affection. Silverline’s happiness was dazzling at it’s brightest, it was easy to see how his troops might become possessive over this feeling.
Then, the world melts.
A syrupy, honey-sweet haze slogs Optimus’ processors to a crawl. His spark skips. splutters, and dies right in his chest and Optimus can only watch as overheating warnings and system failures roll in.
Muddled and confused, Optimus waits for the burning fire in his fuel pump to ease and for death to take him.
Except, he doesn’t die? It feels like he should be dead by now, he has most certainly ceased functioning. But as one second, two seconds, fifteen seconds carries on without him, he remains trapped in place.
True awareness swam just before him, elusive, but close enough to that snippets of stimuli brushed him. It was overwhelming, a tidal wave of excruciating emotions, none of which were upsetting, but that only made them more confusing.
His feeble matrix buzzed and whirred with the effort to drag him to the forefront of himself, and he is forced to process the audio data first. It is a purring hum, low and easy. It is a single note that snatches him up by his very core and yanks him out of his daze.
It is an optimal status alert, and it is directed solely at him.
If there were air left in his vents, Optimus might’ve choked. He was left reeling, the burning in his fuel pump ticking higher and higher as what he understood that it must be elation scorching through him. Satisfaction, praise at its highest, acceptance at it’s deepest, a bot wasn’t built to withstand such a brutal onslaught of unrefined joy.
His visual data was processed next, unrelenting, and the sweet haze gumming up his processors doubled its efforts.
Silverline was killing him, Optimus was sure. It was the most deadly, precious attack he’d ever witnessed.
Silverline was dancing. His paper thin wings fluttering wide and trusting, his optics huge and bright and focused right on Optimus. His steps were spiraling, childish, shrouded in Optimus’ shadow as Silverline danced mere inches from him. The optimal status alert hikes higher in volume with each almost-brush of armor, and Optimus couldn’t have torn himself away for all the galaxy.
I trust you, Silverline said in so much more than words, I love you. Stay with me and love me too.
It was a moment of intimacy that would only feel like hello in hindsight. Like they were finally reaching each other, like a bond could be forged. Whatever struggles cluttered their path were at once, easily defeated so long as they stayed together.
Optimus drifted in the euphoria of that connection. In so fiercely loving and being loved in return that he was rooted in place like an insect in warm amber. He could’ve stayed like that for eons, or until Silverline did something else so unreasonably dear that he really did crash.
Thankfully, although he did not feel very charitably toward Bumblebee in that moment, the scout shattered his amber with a loud radio clip and ushered Silverline back to their human charges with a teasing whistle.
Creaking, aged and wizened beyond his admittedly formidable years, Prime straightens and tries to look less wrecked. From the aura of smugness permeating the air, he isn’t succeeding.
-Ventilate, Prime- Bumblebee eventually suggests, and it is only then that it occurs to him that he should do something about the overheating problem reaching critical temperatures in his systems.
He ventilates.
