Raihan, gesturing Eternatus: But WHAT. THE FUCK?!?!?
#needless to say Raihan was not pleased with leon being Chosen by Eternatus. let alone that Leon is anywhere close to them#legendverse#like he thinks alexis and elliot being bonded to the Unova dragons is cool#but that's also because they didn't try to destroy his city. his home. his best friend/ at the time unrequited crush#so yeah. things are tense for a bit

I've mentioned before how Dragon Type trainers are sus, and hoe Dragon types are pretty hard to take care of. I then casually mentioned that " oh yeah I have oc's who has raised dragon types at a young age". Which honestly got me thinking. Cause again. Dragon types are hard to handle. The first evolution at best would be....eh, fine? For young trainers, but to fully go in and evolve them? That would be both dangerous for the trainer and the dragon. But the oc's I'm referring to are protagonist. They get cool pokemon as they come via how the game is structured.
Danica gets a Garchomp cause Garchomp is cool. Elliot gets Haxorus cause I always wanted to use one. Same goes for Flygon and Dragonite( which is probably the most friendly and maybe easier to train? Idk, I have to check). So like. What do I do?
Well. For one, when they get these Pokemon, their kids, so obviously there's going to be some struggle. Danica's Garchomp( Kade) has Rough Skin, so i'd imagine she would have some scraps from washing or handling her. It doesn't help that very early on, Kade was a very prideful pokemon- a bit snobbish really, so it took a while for a level of respect to actually form. I believe by the time they all got to the League, Kade and Danica's bond would be much stronger- strong enough to battle consistently, anyway. But again. Kade's a dragon type. Danica was about 10 when she won the league. As funny it is to see a little girl with a scary dragon behind her back ( and an even scarier dragon behind that dragon being Giratina) ,it doesn't negate the fact that she probably don't know how to effectively take care of her( Kade). Poor Cynthia had to break it to her that she wasn't taking of Kade as optimally as she could.
Elliot was older than Danica when she got her Axew now Haxorus, Hildegard. Hildegard, like Kade, is a bit prideful in her abilities. Unlike Kade, who likes to do things her way and not cooperate, Hildegard has a habit of thrashing around. Which was fine with Elliot, she likes to cause chaos sometimes too, and at the time, chaos= kicking team plasma ass, so it's a perfect combo. But then Hildegard evolved, and the problems became much more apparent. For one, because of Hildegard's nature, those tusk has become much more dangerous- of course Hilda wouldn't hurt her trainer on purpose. She loves her trainer! But between that pride and the " FINALLY A WORTHY OPPONENT! OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY!!!" at every second, it gets hard to manage. So I want around this is that, sadly, Hildegard gets left behind with Drayden to train under him to get her impulses under control. For context, Elliot almost got her leg bit off by a certain someone's Hydreigon, abd because she's stubborn, she wants to go to Alola to train to get stronger, but also recover from the mess within Unova. I'm not saying that there isn't any Dragon type specialist in Alola, but also Drayden is right there. Don't worry, video calls are often, so Hildegard won't feel too left out, and Drayden teaches Elliot how to handle her, like her tusk, her diet, bathing- all that jazz.
The last one I'm gonna touch on is Alexis' Dieno. Of the three,I would say Alexis knows the most on taking care of her. Though, this comes from the fact that he works with a daycare owner who is very stern in how people should handle baby/ first stage Pokemon, so it's not like he had a choice. The only thing that's I would consider a problem is that his Dieno wants to evolve, and he is deathly afraid of that. Under the same reason Elliot goes to Alola, except with his arm.
And...yeah! My ramble is done lol. I'm just figuring out how my oc's can handle their dragon types in a healthy and safe manner. :)
Any suggestions would be fine too !
