i still can’t believe there’s this subset of people who are Dead Convinced that youtube dot com is a good source for reliable and truthful information
#like fr do conspiracy theorists realize that… Anybody can post on youtube#any random schmoe can fabricate whatever story they want. photoshop some evidence and slap it in their video.#give it a tacky eye-catching thumbnail and clickbait ‘TRUTH ABOUT ___ REVEALED ??’ title#and these people will act like it’s gospel and if people say it’s fake IT’S BECAUSE THEY WANT TO HIDE THE TRUTH or some shit#like… the people making the disinformation don’t even need to be GOOD at photoshop.#BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO EAT IT UP AREN’T EITHER.#they can’t tell !!!! they don’t know hwat a jpeg is !!!! they couldn’t see the telltale signs of a shop job !!!!#ANYBODY WITH VERY BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF PHOTO EDITING COULD MAKE UP A CONSPIRACY THESE PEOPLE WOULD BELIEVE#they also don’t care about how reliable or legit the channel looks !#you can create a new account with no other videos and 0 followers and still get people falling for your shit#because in their minds small channel = outside of The Government/The Media’s control = bringer of truth#OR you can put effort into making your channel look legit like… buying fake subscribers. fake views.#THAT will also convince them you’re legit. either way you can hook them. this is fucking ridiculous.#i just. i can’t believe this is the state of society rn.#conspiracy theorists used to be these weirdos who’d gather in dark rooms to overanalyze newspapers#now they’re just Your Aunt On Facebook i’m done
