I don’t have Snapchat but i do see a lot of the videos on twitter pop up. He really doesn’t seem well? And this chick is just… idk, very bad “i just wanna be a famous influencer” no substance vibes. He doesn’t seem or look happy, she’s very problematic with the drinking etc., and idk. I’m a bit worried on both his physical and mental health. Hypothetically, if he were to do a one off theatre show later this year or something, he would need to start doing something in the music realm because honestly, he’s dropped off for too long. he has to build a relationship back up with his fans because he can’t rely on the 1d fanbase to back him anymore. Hypothetically, he could’ve pulled off a good but small USA tour this year - idk what happened other than a lack of music released.

As a stunt with that girl, it doesn’t make much sense, either. She doesn’t appeal to his demographic, he probably appeals to hers a bit more? But still. It’s a weird pairing for a stunt, and I don’t think it’s based on closeting etc., I think they’re either together or his team are absolutely fucking shit lol and it’s actually a very poorly ran stunt. Snapchat, while more intimate than twitter, is still not a form of building a long lasting relationship with fans. He has a lot to do.

Anyway, one thing i did notice from today, was this Snapchat vid - saying he’s got to square up with niall? Like… he corrects himself, saying no bad vibes or anything but they need to talk. Why are you announcing this? Is it because niall won’t pick up your calls or something? Niall doesn’t even follow him on Insta. It’s giving sad ex partner vibes or something. I was kinda shrugging off the whole thing but after name dropping Niall in a way that could start beef, I don’t like it lol. It’s just… idk. It’s weirding me out because I can’t figure it out. There’s just something really iffy there and I don’t like it.

Liam’s whole vibe right now screams “help me” - like… it’s very dysfunctional and a bit of a trainwreck to watch. And it sucks, because he’s an excellent musician. But he’s lost touch with the fans, his shows have been cancelled previously and he hasn’t released anything in so long. I don’t understand what the struggle is. CAA manage a multitude of artists who have all done okay for themselves. They’re not a small agency who don’t have the money, nor the power, to propel a career where there’s money to be made. Same thing with his booking agents at Wasserman - they are very successful and have a wide reach. I’m just… confused with the whole thing, if I’m honest.

Mind you, I really do like Liam. I’m not a fan of his music really, but he did a lot for 1d back in the day and him and louis were very close. I don’t hate Liam and I don’t wish anything bad upon him. Quite the opposite really. And I’m hoping maybe he gets some more support now that louis’ on break but idk… he needs to get away from that girl for whatever reason he’s with her.

And I could go on about why I kinda don’t think she’s a stunt or hypothetical insider stuff about Liam’s career right now but I don’t find it productive. He needs to build a fanbase back up before booking shows. He’s only hurting his own career. And his agents need to pick up their slack too. He has potential. But the longer they wait, the less successful he’s gonna be.

It’s a perfect example of how louis built a loyal fanbase, vs Liam who didn’t.

I feel like Brian and Roger have these boundaries they have made beyond which they refuse to delve into discussions or speculations about Freddie's life. Brian is open to discuss a little more as compared to Roger who usually just sticks to how lovely and dear to him Freddie was. Neither of them are wrong, that's just their respective personalities but to me I don't think anyone is gonna get a really deep cut discussion out of them at least in public because they respect Freddie's privacy above anything else and think its little iffy to go into things F never wanted to be public when he was alive.

I’m gonna just say it: part of this comes from them not wanting to cross any boundaries and wanting to be respectful of Freddie, and the other part is that Brian is clearly a lot more comfortable talking about queer issues than Roger is, which is why he’s been the one who’s talked about Freddie’s sexuality the most over the past 30 years. Even in the “one week later” interview, it was Brian who was bringing up the homophobia and serophobia, and Freddie being in a loving, stable relationship.

It’s not that I think Roger doesn’t talk about this as much because he’s uncomfortable with lgbt issues, but it’s so ridiculous for the fandom to act like he’s some activist when he just wore a trans rights T-shirt for his wife’s insta story and more or less didn’t say anything about the intense homophobia from the press that Freddie faced in like, 30 years. He talked about it a little in the new doc, but that’s the first time I heard him mention it. I don’t think homophobia is the cause of this (and I don’t blame him for the fandom’s inaccurate view of his politics), I think that he’s honestly a typical straight dudebro who doesn’t think about lgbt rights much. He’s just like “oh he’s gay? Ok cool.”

That’s in contrast to Brian, who has never been normal lol and has talked about Freddie’s sexuality and struggles the most since he died, as I said, but has also gone out of his way to re-examine Freddie’s music and see if there were any signs of his hidden struggles (“In the Lap of the Gods”, “Lily of the Valley”). He also wrote “Save Me” about Freddie’s sad gay love life and shallow sex life, so…yeah he’s always been incredibly empathetic to him

All of this is to say that the difference between their approaches to talking about Freddie being gay publicly have more to do with boundaries, in my opinion. I’m not saying Roger needs to be like Brian, I’m just pointing out the difference between them

i have a theory of what occurred but no full proof of what went down. this is just my MAJOR assumptions.

i've definitely stated this before too, but i'll just repeat myself since i feel like my opinion has changed slightly.

before anyone possibly reading this gets on my case, i don't agree with how katelyn has gone about doing things, but if i'm even slightly correct, i can't say i'm surprised at her pettiness lol

it seems to me that everything between the four of them was good up until like may/june-ish. april, they were good bc that's when they all went to coachella and had fun there. hell, even a bit before coachella sam was making jokes about them getting married on one her tiktoks. but by may… things are getting just a twinge iffy. bc in may, that is when snc are going to farrar to look at it for the first time/purchase it. who comes along with them? malia. but katelyn didn't come. now granted, she apparently was moving or doing something like that around that time, but it is interesting that malia went with them without katelyn, or at least was invited along. it is a bit odd, especially when while snc are there, malia is taking pics in merch and colby's posting it to his story (and the merch in question was the "ugh why can't my boyfriend hunt ghosts" one).

but then by june, that's when they have their meet and greet. and obviously katelyn is there to support and give out stuff to fans. so things seem okay again. and around this time, he removed a bunch of posts of him with kat and the core four that had been up still, so a lot of ppl thought he was gonna finally hard launch katelyn as his gf.

then the last time we see them all hanging out is on july 4th. they all go out on a double date, post a tiktok or two, seems fine. he even posted a video laying outside with her. but then, fast forward to july 17ish, that is when she posts on her tiktok story that she is going to see pythian priestess bc things have been really weird in her life recently and she just needs a reading. so… needless to say that by that point they either a, broke up or b, were about to. by july 23, snc are in iowa filming farrar.

then by august 14ish, sam is seen out with a girl - going to watch a sunset in venice beach. the literal same day that happens, katelyn and him unfollow each other. the next day is when she posts the pic of him and her kissing with the caption "felt cute might delete later", and all of that shit goes down.

i'll try to say this as delicately as i can bc of course i could be wrong (and honestly i hope i am) - i think sam checked out of the relationship long before they broke up in july. bc when he was trying to calm the waters and did that q&a, he claimed that he had been single "for a bit now" and in his comment said that he and katelyn "broke up a while ago" when AT MOST it had been a month since they broke up. so to me, that reads as he had already left the relationship long before they ended things. and on top of that, all of the filming of hell week was after they broke up. so that means broken up sam was in the farrar vids, and to me he doesn't exactly look like someone that's upset about a relationship he had been in for almost a year ending.

or maybe he's a good actor lol

and i feel like this also lends into a pattern with him: he breaks up with said person after being clocked out of the relationship for a while, and then immediately leaves so he doesn't have to deal with the fallout. he did something similar when him and kat broke up - they broke up in late march (which he lied about in his marathon video bc there is literal proof and him, kat, and everybody hanging out and being besties on like march 25th so unless they were just pretending on camera to be fine but off screen weren't… he either lied or forgot when they broke up) and then he immediately left to go do filming somewhere (i don't remember what they filmed, but i know him and colby left around that time). even kat left to go be with family for a while. and he's now done the same thing with katelyn - broke up and left to go film.

sam himself has said before that he is terrified to grow up, that he's not ready to or that it's his biggest fear. the thing is, and while i never said it back then, he was never gonna marry kat. it was extremely apparent to those that weren't invested in their relationship. bc i think to him, marriage is the end of his youth. marriage means he has to grow up, be a man, and stop fucking around and have his shit together. and i think that scares him. and look, there's nothing wrong with being scared to grow up. there's nothing wrong with being worried about the future. i'm not saying he can't be fearful. what i am saying is you can't string ppl along bc you can't get it together. i mean, he outright said in a livestream recently that he hasn't been single since 8th grade……… that every year since then he has had a gf. that man is TERRIFIED to be alone. and so he jumps into relationships, but never grows up.

not only that, but he's unhappy with himself, for some reason. and i think he thinks he can't change or grow while in a relationship so he stays stagnant, and then by the end he realizes he's unhappy and instead of maybe pressing pause on the relationship or trying to grow while in it, he pretends he's happy, becomes extremely unhappy, and then drop kicks the girl. bc now we have two instances of him coming out a relationship saying he's the best version of himself, that he feels so good and free, but cut to a couple months later, he's back to saying he was in the worst time of his life.

and look, none of this is to say that katelyn did absolutely nothing wrong. i'm sure she was weird in her own way. i mean hell, she was in gcs with fans after their breakup trying to defend herself. that's weird. no buts about it. and she did do some odd things during their relationship too, and since the break up has been petty on and off again. but so has sam. in a weird way, they were kinda perfect for each other lol

i don't think there was just one singular thing that transpired to cause the falling out of snc and malia with katelyn. but i think the break up definitely made it easier for them to all shun her. and i think that's why she's retaliated the way she has - with tiktoks and pics and shit like that. i don't blame the girl, but i also don't think she's chosen the right path to go down either.

it's all just... very messy.

In Defense of Wedding Plan....or Lom, more specifically...

So, I actually don't see a lot of discourse on here about Wedding Plan...maybe I just haven't been on here as much. But also, there are a lot of deeper shows on at the moment that are tackling more ethereal ideas and Wedding Plan is more pulp-y romcom than anything else, so it's not necessarily ripe for deep discussion. But on tiktok where I'm fairly active in the BL community I have seen so much hate on this show. And I understand certain levels of frustration about the choice of storyline, but I also get frustrated because I feel like people are purposely disregarding several things.

(Editors note from right before I post this, I was going to add visuals, but I'm too emotionally exhausted now, so you'll just have to settle for the wall of text.)

I agree that it's not good, or right, or acceptable for Lom to have lied to Nuea. But there's been behavior that acts as though Lom is cheating...he's not in a romantic relationship with Yiwa!! He can't cheat on her. And yes, it does lead Nuea to believe he's at least attempting to cheat, but that's not the same. I recognize that Nuea would not feel great about his feelings towards Lom, both because of their professional relationship and what he is assuming about Lom and Yiwa's private relationship. But that's also a nuanced discussion in and of itself because Nuea knows there's something fishy going on with Lom's engagement. He doesn't know what, but he definitely suspects, I think from as early as episode 2. They go out of their way to set up in episode one his sort of sixth sense about couples with that McDonald's scene. Their intention is for us to see how observant Nuea is.

And watching this most recent episode (episode 6) as soon as Lom revealed that he fell for Nuea at Pai's wedding and said that he watched him, I knew that the comments were going to be out of pocket. It is not weird or stalker-ish to see a person that you find attractive out in the wild and look at them or watch them. That's straight up normal. I have done that. Now do I truly believe it was love at first sight? No, because I don't think you can love a person without knowing them, but this is also romantic fiction and love at first sight is literally the most common trope there is. It's also not weird or gross or stalker-ish for him to get Nuea's company contact info from Pai. If you like someone and you know that your friend has their contact info...asking them is not weird. I'd maybe be a bit iffy on a direct phone number, but a insta or snapchat name, a Line ID, that's not sus...like at all. He didn't hand over Nuea's personal address or something. And let's also remember that Prapai KNOWS Lom. They are friends. He knows that Lom is not a dangerous person, he doesn't pose harm to Nuea.

I'd also like to discuss episode 4/5...the first NC scene. I keep seeing comments about dubious consent or lack of consent altogether, and while I can agree with dubious...it's on Lom's part. When you watch the end of episode 4, Nuea isn't drunk. Like we're not given a clear shot of the table, but you see Lom with 3 empty beer glasses and drinking a 4th when Nuea shows up. Nuea you only see drink one, out of a short, mixed drink style glass, one you'd have like a Rum & Coke in, and the beverage is clear with a lemon wedge, so it's not even clear if it's alcoholic. But even if it was there are 3 total glasses like it on the table, so assuming Nuea drank all three, he'd have had to take them all back to back to back in order to be wasted after that. But beyond the context clues, his behavior does not indicate inebriation at all. He's steady on his feet, he's not slurring, there are no acting choices made that would lead one to believe he's drunk.

The fallout that comes for Nuea after that night isn't because of concerns about consent issues. It's about reconciling a destructive decision. People make bad choices all the time. They'll get caught up in an emotion, an idea, a person, and they'll do something without truly thinking about the consequences. And eventually it's morning and you have to accept the choice you made. Is it heartbreaking to watch that with Nuea? Absolutely. I cried at that scene. Pak did such an amazing job. And Nuea isn't the only one who suffers from that emotional fallout. We see the fear and distress on Lom's face when he wakes up and Nuea is gone. You can see his distress when talking to Nuea's boss. He tries to pull the rich guy privilege BS (which I will absolutely admit I hated), but she's not falling for it. After the boss learns everything, she gives Lom the contact info for Nuea's family, which again pissed a lot of people off. But again, it's not direct contact or access to him. She also knows that Nuea is in a place where he is safe and has a support system around him. Also Lom, while not a super clear thinking dude in that moment, is not a freaking serial killer and Nuea's boss is not an imbecile. She didn't just cave to Lom's puppydog eyes, and it feels kind of dismissive to me for people to act like she did.

So many people were upset that he followed Nuea to Chiang Mai...like...it's the same argument we heard about Pai for several episodes. If those things don't happen, there's no fucking show. If Lom stays in Bangkok and Nuea stays in Chiang Mai until the wedding has happened then the story just ends. And if you feel like there's no redemption for Lom after withholding the full truth from Nuea... why are you even still watching the show? Legitimately why? Because what is your expectation when you don't truly believe there's a way for Lom to be redeemed at all?

And I'll be honest, seeing the pretty dismissive reactions to Lom telling the whole story about him and Yiwa coming to the realization that their parents wouldn't be able to accept their sexuality, it really kind of hurts. I know in a lot of ways it feels easy to believe that the reason they hid it is because they didn't want to lose their inheritance, but have you considered that maybe they do love their parents? At least a little? I know that especially for many people in western audiences it seems easy and simple to say "just leave then" in response to queer people who stay closeted because of their families, but there are always going to be so many layers to that. Especially when you look at through a cultural context lens. It's really just is not that simple. Money creates a lot of privilege, that's very true. But we can also look at real life people for whom that money isn't clearing the way for them to live their life fully openly. You can literally look at PP Kritt and see that despite his privilege, fame, and familial wealth, he is still dealing with consistent societal discrimination.

I also don't love this narrative that Yiwa is being selfish. The arrangement was mutually agreed upon, by both of them. To keep each other's secrets and let Yiwa have her love. Does that seem unfair to Lom? Yeah, but he wouldn't have seen it that way prior to meeting Nuea. He wasn't expecting to ever get anything remotely close to a happily ever after, so it wasn't truly a sacrifice to him when he made that agreement.

And this also circles back to his comment about saying that he wanted Nuea even though he was getting married, because he just wanted that one moment of happiness. Is it a selfish idea? Yes, but to be shocked that a rich, privileged man exhibited selfishness is a bit much. But also, I don't think Lom was expecting to fall for Nuea. Like I said, I don't really think it was love at first sight, but lust. I think the more time he spent with Nuea the deeper he fell. I believe his intention was to have something along the lines of a fling, and that when it was over Nuea would move on from him and find his eventual happily ever after and he would settle for memories. That's part of why I think he withheld the truth even after Yiwa told him it was okay to tell Nuea the full truth. This is a man who never expected to find joy or a true partner but was willing to go to extreme's to help the person he sees as a sister have the opportunity to have her own happiness. But yeah, he's just a shitbag.

And the references to love-bombing...I hate how people have brought that term into the discussion of the last two episodes. So if you're not familiar with the term, it's become more common on social media in the discussion around narcissistic and abusive partners. It generally refers to overwhelming physical displays of affection like gifts and such, especially early on in a relationship, essentially with the intention of creating a power imbalance in favor of the narcissistic partner.

The following are the most common signs of love-bombing:

They give you needless gifts 

They’re in a rush to lock things down 

They’re always available and demanding of your attention 

They can’t take ‘no’ for an answer 

They like you better when you’re alone 

They over-communicate their love for you 

You feel overwhelmed, uneasy or off-balance 

These are not things that Lom is doing. Buying McDonalds and ice cream for someone so they know you care...that's not love-bombing, that's at best wooing. Especially when intent is part of why it matters. Lom is doing it to show he cares, to show he pays attention to what Nuea likes, not in an attempt to make Nuea feel indebted to him for said gifts (that total up to about $10). Lom isn't trying to lock things down with Nuea, he's not attempting to force Nuea to choose him. He just wants Nuea to make the decision to either choose him or not knowing his love is genuine. He wants Nuea to be making an informed decision. He does not demand Nuea's attention, at most he requests it sometimes. He takes 'no' for an answer pretty regularly. He doesn't purposely or intentionally try to get Nuea alone. 'They over-communicate their love'...this one seems iffy, but it's not about saying "I love you" to a person, it's more related to presenting that love to others to cement a relationship. Essentially trying to make it awkward for a person to say 'oh well we're not quite that serious'. And that last one...Nuea is reflective and considering of the situation as a whole, but he's not uneasy, he's not overwhelmed. You could maybe argue afraid, but not of Lom, he's afraid of potential future heartbreak. Love itself is scary. Feelings of that depth and strength are scary. Because we all know that even if that love lasts the rest of your lives, the length of your lives is never guaranteed, and loss is ALWAYS a potential outcome.

I'm not arguing that the show is without flaws, all of Mame's shows/stories are flawed. But I do feel like there was a level of expectation that seems entirely misplaced. Like, these same people who love Payu and Rain to death, had nothing to say to the reveal that Payu had orchestrated at least one instance of a run-in with Rain, a person with whom there was a far larger power imbalance, but Lom pursuing Nuea, a grown ass adult who is never afraid to speak his mind to Lom, that's too problematic???

I don't know anymore. I like the show. It has faults, and flaws, and so do it's characters, but Lom is not a fucking mustache twirling villain out to trick and capture poor, sweet, stupid Nuea. And that's kind of how it feels like the discussions about the show have been going.

Anyway personally I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Whether people believe Leah dated Jordan or not (i think it’s kinda insane not to but i get it for people who weren’t around at a time. The last Valentines day when they posted for. each other Leah also liked some tweets from a woso journo praising the gay couples who were brave enough to post each other for making everyone feel like woso is a welcoming community. Patting herself on the back there Leah 😂)

What was i saying… whether people believe they dated or not it’s been pretty well known or at least suspected that Leah was into girls even before she started dating Jordan. She used to get spotted quite often at a gay club in MK, Pink’s, even tweeted herself about going there once (and got hate from a bunch of weirdo men. as an 18 yr old. imagine ffs), first day after deleting Jordan from her insta after they most likely broke up she was pictured at a wlw event.. she didn’t waste any time there lol

Everyone I know who found TIHYLTTW mildly disappointing and overhyped (including me) read it shortly after it came out and won all those awards. I'm not sure where people got the idea that everyone is suddenly discovering it thanks to that Trigun fan's tweet going viral (which was neat in itself). Anyway, the mixed opinions of this book among core SFF readers starting in 2019 are part of an ongoing conversation about what gets praised in the Hugo-winning mainstream (non-Puppy, non-dudebro space), which is often cliquey, risk-averse, and arguably compromised in terms of the core ethics/values of progressive SFF. For instance, the Hugo Awards got a ton of backlash in 2021 for being sponsored by the American defense giant Raytheon. This was the same year that you had winners like the fifth instalment of Murderbot Diaries, which has been recced on your blog as good ace rep (I only half-agree as it falls into the robot-as-ace stereotype, but that's beside the point; for a certain kind of reader, "good rep" is the only real litmus test of a book's quality and so they praise it even when it's iffy). Basically you have a situation where an org devoted to progressive, inclusive SFF takes blood money while feeling minority-allied and conflict-free. And while none of this implicates TIHYLTTW directly or any other Hugo-winning book from any adjacent year, I can't help but feel like the excessive (imo) praise of certain books exists against the background of larger decoupling of personal ethics/politics and inclusive rep in fiction. And what inclusive queer rep looks like in a space where you're discouraged from taking risks and getting nasty is shallow characterization, bloodless insta-love, and stylish prose that keeps you at arm's length.

hijacking this post to remind everyone how that announcement went and the absolute insanity that was the lead up to the announcement.

in the lead up to the hiatus, fall out boy has been pronounced washed, folie was the worst album of all time, people would literally boo songs from it on the tour and at one point if i recall correctly, alex from all time low had to make a speech at one of the stops that booing your headliner is not cool and brings the vibes down monumentally (also on that tour, and i am not joking, was metro station). with this farewell, fall out boy call it a day, seemingly absolutely dejected, and embark on various solo projects like the damndest things, soul punk and a pop duo with bebe rexha (yes that one).

then patrick posts "we liked you better fat", a devastating piece on how he can never live up to who he was in fall out boy - "there’s no amount of money that makes you feel better when people think of you as a joke or a hack or a failure or ugly or stupid or morally empty.[...] I’m a touring artist and I feel I’ve become incapable of touring anymore with any act. [...] there will still be 10-20 percent of the audience there to tell me how shitty whatever it is I’m doing is and how much better the thing I used to do was. Not only that, but that 10-20 percent combined with whatever notoriety Fall Out Boy used to have prevents me from having the ability to start over from the bottom again. now, if you think likes/replies on insta/tiktok/tw**ter are cool interactions with your fave, you havent been on absolutepunk, solely because this is the only forum where you could find pete wentz randomly quote replying to you in a long ass chain that would inevitably end up with you being banned for being sassy to jason tate. absolutepunk was where EVERYONE went. you found the new bands on absolute punk, you saw mark hoppus comment on a jimmy eat world review, you posted how TTTYG is the only good thing fall out boy has produced.

of course, since nothing every happens™️, absolutepunk declares that zack is pulling shit out of his ass for clicks, zack is in the comments fighting for his live saying "mf just you wait", jason tate is being iffy about it but maybe believes zack? and the general vibe is "yea. sure. reunion. that same band that keeps saying they aren't broken up. w/e man". joe denies it on tw***er almost immediately. if i recall correctly, pete also denied it on the absolutepunk thread.

two weeks later, a message appears on falloutboyrock.com (yes. the website back then was this. since as far back as i can remember):

hello, I'm sorry I don't know if this will be seen, I honestly don't even know much about your group, I just saw the ask while browsing the rpc tag where an anon told you that discord would have been better for your group and honestly?? reading their reasons and stuff, I've been rping on tumblr since 2011/2012 and tbh I don't think I ever plan on moving to another platform unless there's ever one that pops up that's basically the OG tumblr set up, and even then I'd probably be iffy. if I'm running a group and it ends up being just down to me and a couple of my close friends I've made from tumblr rp, then so be it, we'll still manage to have fun with our muses, we're not leaving. we're all 30+ and we're too old to bother moving to another platform at this point. we'll reply when we can, we don't need super fast-paced insta-replies. and if that's what someone else is looking for in an rp of the genre I run? then guess my group isn't the one for them, and that's fine! if anon thinks discord is better then they can rp on discord. I like setting up a blog and making it look nice, even if tumblr keeps taking certain features away, I'll decorate up a blog until the chance to do so is no longer possible and I'll still rp on tumblr. sorry call me stubborn but I'll just groan and grumble about the changes I dislike, but continue to write on this hellsite until either it ends or I do.

I 100% feel the exact same way! I really do miss the old days. I want a group to write with that feel the same, but I think the community grew and changed into a more face paced environment. I miss when there was friendship behind the writing. Discord groups so far just seem like a popularity contest over who can hoard the most popular characters and fcs. it's a real shame.

I hate that my group had to close before it started because it isn't a popular form of rp anymore.

today's late night thoughts : i feel like im wasting my life and i don't know what im going to do for the rest of my life and who even knows how long we'll be around for because humanity is starting to hit it's expiration date and it feels like every day there's some new headline that really drives home that fact and somehow everyone i know has at least somewhat of their life figured out but i've built my life in way where my only option was to die and not just in a "idk what to do with school/jobs" way but also in a "i have no real connections in life outside of immediate family and even that is iffy" sort of way and i don't want to die now but my life was built to let me feel miserable and i don't know how to rebuild it where im not miserable and i just want friends again idec if they treat me like shit again i just want people in my life and maybe even a relationship because i feel like im the only person i know my age who hasn't been in a relationship let alone kiss someone even my little fucking sister has been two relationships before i've even held hands romantically and i just want to feel alive cause im starting to feel like a husk again and i don't want that i want to feel alive i want to live why is that such a hard ask but everything feels so doomed and i feel pathetic and cringe all the time and that's why i can't sleep tonight.

this was spurred on by me having a dream of a really old friend the other night and looking them up on insta just now to maybe even reconnect and then seeing they seem pretty fucking fine without me y'know? like they look happy and accomplished and they probably wouldn't even give a shit about me so why bother. and then i realized for the millionth time that i am utterly lonely and friendless, like sure i know a lot of people, but i don't regularly talk to a lot of people nor would they consider me a friend, more like an acquaintance. that's my problem, my whole fucking life all i've had is acquaintances and not friends. and when i do have friends they actually secretly hate me and make fun of me behind my back and will tell me so once they're done messing with me for a few months.

Potential Spoilers here. If you're sensitive to spoilers, you probably shouldn't read this

Oh wow I'm conflicted. I'm just going to get right into it. Theres two main playthroughs, and then a true final boss. The first playthrough, I had a good amount of fun! The last like third was a little iffy in parts, but still pretty good! Second playthrough was awful. It was essentially hard mode. The problem is, they took the Sonic Mania Encore Mode approach to a hard mode, as in, just spamming spikes and enemies everywhere. Springs that launch you into spikes, Egg Robos spammed all over the stage shooting you from off screen. There was even a part where it was an auto scroller type of section, with canons that can shoot you out and go faster, which was in the first playthrough too. However, here they decided to make half of them insta kill traps. Why??? You cant even see, the insta kill hazard it would shoot you into is OFF SCREEN when you're decided to use the canon. Then that playthroughs final boss was slow, buggy, and just bad. Insta kill lasers. Insta kill punches. Mechanics just flat out breaking. Great. Then you get to the Super Sonic final boss. its 7-10 minutes long no matter what you do. Then it ends with a final section where you cannot replenish any rings, and you have to do 6 or 7 precise QTE's in a row. Then you have to dodge lasers for about 10-20 seconds, wasting the rings you cannot replenish (unless you get lucky and you're blessed with being able to get about 15 more). Then you have to do one more precise QTE. If you miss a single of these QTE's or get hit by the laser once, you have to restart this section again, which is a death sentence since you CANNOT REPLENISH RINGS. Eventually I did this, but the game bugged out!! I was stuck on a white loading screen that did not actually do loading, and in the background I still heard the final boss. I died by running out of rings on this white screen and had to start from the very beginning.

Everything after the first playthrough is genuinely garbage. If it was just that first playthrough, I could give it an 8. But with all the nonsense I went through, its somewhere in the 7's. I need to just replay the first campaign again and see where I lie. I might edit this post later on with how I feel after I do that, it just wont be now because of Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros Wonder out TOMORROW.
