It has the feeling of being in prison, a trap with no real escape. I think that after the wedding Laynon had to feel devasted, he not only lose the ilusion of the little power he had on his life but though the only man he actully loved never return it back and just stays friends with him

Think about it, Laynon dosen´t have dreams by his own or goals to archive in the entire comic that its not beyond Jekyll, and if he had a little interest in something (Like when he was little he played violin) his father wouldn´t approved and he would quickly drop it. So Laynon stood in a ¨nepo baby mind-set¨ even in his adult-hood, being almost A 40 YEARS OLD FULL GROW ASS MAN and STILL depends on his father like if he was a teen, even if he has his own house and dosen´t live under the same room anymore, in the end it´s a life-style that his father choose for him by marrying him with a woman. But what Laynon didn´t realised his father was controling him beacuse Laynon being a fucking a adult didn´t want to work to do something with his own life, no dreams or visions of how to make his family´s company bigger, or start his own bussiness, a life project

And worse, Laynon had chances to stand by himself and become independent from his father but he was so afraid to lose the comfort of a expenssive life, the only life he knows, and he didn´t want to risk it all to turn into his own father, someone who always expects more and more and yet dosen´t see satifised at all, in his own house

In concept, Laynon its "the main charcaters romantic interest" he only cares and is there for Henry, beyond Henry´s life he isn´t someone nor even his own person
