ok kinda just screaming into the void here but i think i figured out why i dislike wilburs ending so much. at first it kinda made sense, so much of the smp’s lore is completely absurd after all. of course it would end in fucking utah. but i think it’s frustrating because of the implications of it. sure it was technically real, and c!wilbur was away from his home for two years but to the viewer it feels no different then an “oh it was all a dream” ending. this series of events that we all were so passionate about was just a blip in c!wilbur’s life. its a complete tone shift from the rest of his story and i just. idk. it feels like the ending completely demeans everything thats happened in the past two years, and its a bit frustrating to say the least.

(to be clear, this is not me insulting cc wilbur or anything. just because i don’t personally like the ending doesnt mean it wasnt good or didnt have thought put into it)
