I downloaded Better Exceptions and I'm thankful that it wasn't as terrible of a report as I thought it might be. I think the worst I have is duplicate CC (rather than an issue with mods) and the report makes it very easy for me to fix. I wish I had remembered to download this sooner. 😅
#all my duplicates are old cc that i didn't realized i had#like cc from 2015-2018#i was hoping to find something that might be conflicting with high school years#it's making it very frustrating to play#like it's bad enough that hsy is sorely lacking in ways they really could have easily done more with just popups alone#career day is every other day but when they get there the tasks are saying different and no one walks into the auditorium#they just stand outside clipping into one another and chat :/#i just wanted to get to know Fern away from the rest of her family#text post

MCYT Eras Concept
For a long time, I've thought of MCYT as divided into different eras. I've finally decided to refine the idea and write it out. I feel it's a good way to define things, rather than just "old school" and "modern", as the bar for each of those have shifted drastically over time. Please do note that a lot of how I describe these eras is mostly from my own perspective, but I do think the overall divisions work well for MCYT as a whole!
Era 1 - The "OG" Era (2009 - 2011)
The beginning of Minecraft and MCYT. Much content at this point was traditional lets plays, simple tutorials and showing off early innovations in redstone.
Era 2 - The "Classic" Era (2012 - 2014)
This era encompasses what is often considered the peak of many iconic "old school" groups and series. Team Crafted, Mindcrack, the various Yogscast Tekkit series, and many, many more.
It's difficult to describe everything that made up the classic era in a succinct manner. It was the true rise of SMPs, Adventure Maps, Minecraft Animations, Parodies, Mod Reviews, MCRP, and so, so much more. Minecraft was unavoidable on YouTube back then.
Era 3 - The "Gap" Era (2015 - 2017)
The "gap" era is named for the lull in MCYT's popularity. In this period of time, it was seen more as a niche, compared to the massive popularity it saw before and after.
This era saw the "death", or at least massive dips in popularity to many formerly wildly popular groups and ccs, as viewers interests changed and moved onto other things.
Many series came and went during this era, but weren't properly appreciated until after their time.
Era 4 - The "Revival" Era (2018 - 2019)
This era, due to a combination of many factors, was MCYT's return to mainstream. Many people returned to both singleplayer series and servers. Episodic SMPs old and new such as Hermitcraft and Truly Bedrock, began experimenting more with the lines between gameplay, story and improv.
This era also saw the rise of streaming based series, such as SMPLive, SMPEarth, and Minecraft Monday.
Era 5 - The "Lockdown" Era (2020 - 2022)
Much of this era is defined by the new heights reached during covid lockdowns. This era kicked dozens if not hundreds of the careers of those who grew up watching MCYT during the OG and Classic eras.
This era is admittedly very defined by the DSMP, rocketing MCYT and specifically MCRP into a level of popularity unseen before. Second, and as just as important to this era is MCC, bringing together so many personalities from all over the MCYT sphere who otherwise would likely have never interacted on a monthly basis.
A massive innovation in this era was also the introduction of the Simple Voice Chat mod to many servers, now a staple of most multiplayer content.
Era 6 - The Current Era (2023 - Present)
Unnamed as of yet, as it is still ongoing, the current era of MCYT has so far been defined by not only the continued rise of many smaller, younger MCYTs. But largely, and undoubtedly, by the QSMP.
Not only has it redefined what an SMP can be through its gameplay. It has brought the international MCYT community is closer together now than ever, crossing language and cultural barriers previously rarely touched.
---
This concept of mine isn't fully solidified, and is up to be more refined. I would love to hear y'all's thoughts and feedback about these divisions and the idea overall!

The 66 Best Rock Albums of the 2010s (by Loudwire)
66. Dorothy, '28 Days in the Valley' (2018)
After the release of her debut album Rockisdead, Dorothy discovered her sobriety and took a deep emotional dive in the studio with producer Linda Perry to write the follow-up. The final product, 2018’s 28 Days in the Valley, brought a whole new sound and more colorful aesthetic to the table than its predecessor, exploring personal themes of addiction, love, inner-peace and clarity. Dorothy’s soaring vocals pair perfectly with the vintage Southern California sound of the music, spawning fun anthems like “Flawless,” “Freedom” and “Pretty When You’re High.” On the other hand, fans looking for more introspective tracks will appreciate “White Butterfly” and “Black Tar and Nicotine.” — LS
31. Halestorm, 'Into the Wild Life' (2015)
Halestorm opened up the tool box a bit with their third album, Into the Wild Life, delivering their most diverse effort to date. “Apocalyptic” provided the band with a radio-ready anthem almost certain to connect, but it was the bluesy, fist-pumping rocker “Amen” that was the album’s standout moment. The group added several more hard rocking gems to their catalog with fiery “Mayhem” and the clap-along closer, “I Like It Heavy,” while “Dear Daughter” gave the band one of the more personal songs of their career. – CC
27. The Pretty Reckless, 'Going to Hell' (2014)
If their debut album Light Me Up wasn’t enough to convince the world that Taylor Momsen was a musician before an actress, 2014’s Going to Hell would certainly be the affirmation. Going into the studio to record the album, The Pretty Reckless got rid of all backing tracks and synthesizers to create a more raw, authentic rock and roll sound. The album was nearly complete in 2012 when Hurricane Sandy wiped out their studio in Hoboken, N.J. Amidst the turmoil of having to start over from scratch, the title-track was born, and thus the album’s name. With themes of sexual exploration in “Follow Me Down,” youthful rebellion in lead single “Heaven Knows” and societal mockery in “Fucked Up World,” this album not only remains the most blunt and sinister of the band’s discography, but also the most favorable. — LS
12. Halestorm, 'The Strange Case Of ...' (2012)
Halestorm went from being the “next big rock band” to fulfilling that prophecy with The Strange Case Of. It began with a catchy, attention grabbing number called “Love Bites (So Do I)” that would later earn them a Grammy, but continued with a string of hits that secured their spot in the rock pantheon. The anthemic “I Miss the Misery,” the call-to-arms of “Freak Like Me,” the working stiff favorite “Here’s to Us” and the hard rocking “Mz. Hyde” kept the band on the airwaves for the better part of two years, and a relentless tour schedule helped grow the fanbase and catapult Halestorm to major rock stardom. – CC

5 Seconds of Summer Share Their Grief On Liam Payne's Sudden Death and One Direction's Influence on the Group
To 5 Seconds of Summer, who share the stage with One Direction, pay their respects following Liam Payne's sudden death. Payne was a former member of One Direction, an English-Irish boy band, died when he fell from a hotel balcony, which led to his death, in Buenos Aires on Oct. 16. Reports state that the hotel staff had called for emergency services to admit a guest who was suspected to have overdosed. Following the autopsy, it was determined that Payne died from "polytrauma and internal and external bleeding" from the fall. Toxicology also revealed that the victim had "pink cocaine," the drug used for leisure use among other toxins in his system. Alex Goykhman, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0, via Wikimedia Commons Paying through the nose with bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan when they were created as One Direction on The X Factor UK in 2010, One Direction later dominated the world's music charts and became one of the greatest boy bands of the 2010s. Now, although they are in hiatus since 2016, the influence that they wielded was such that it did really reach groups such as 5 Seconds of Summer, which were their touring mates when they were at the height of their fame. One of those groups is 5SOS, the Australian group of Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Calum Hood. The group soared to international fame in 2013 when they opened for One Direction on the latter's world tour for Take Me Home. Four boys received this opportunity when Louis Tomlinson found them on YouTube and offered a spot to open for One Direction on their Take Me Home tour. These young men had formed their band way back in 2011 in Sydney but were thrust into international stardom after teaming up with One Direction. During his tour with One Direction, 5SOS gained extreme publicity and has a very large following. All their first three studio albums did well: the 2014 and 2015's Drive-Thru Live, and 2018's Five Seconds of Summer, all topping the Billboard 200. Their fast rise in fame is often partly attributed to the launching pad that was One Direction. The members of 5SOS have demonstrated and are very grateful to their former touring friends. Even though the bands take different paths about their career, for all those years in the tour, friendship relationships came into place, and mutual respect was always high. As a matter fact, it was reported in 2014 that all the members of the boyband One Direction have a financial interest in 5SOS. According to reports, the five 1D members reportedly had shares of a London-based company called 5SOS LLP, making this another reason even for the two groups to be more bonded together. Under that rapport it's no surprise that 5SOS lamented the news of such lightning-fast report that Liam Payne died. Band issued a joint statement on Oct. 18, days after the tragedy stated, "We are heartbroken by the loss of Liam," they wrote in a touching tribute, stamping out the deep pain of the loss that they have lost some precious hours while being part of it. The members of 5SOS appreciated the support and camaraderie they enjoyed with the One Direction star and how much that influence came into their lives professionally and personally. Liam, in concert with his bandmates, did much to define 5SOS's career history, and the fact that the bonds forged in those formative years seemed stronger because of them. 5SOS commented on the kindness, influence, and friendships that were formed due to years of shared touring in their statement. Given that so much of their journey to international stardom was intertwined with that of One Direction, Payne's early death likely really resonated with the members of 5SOS as much of their early success sprang from the opportunities they were given while opening for One Direction. These tributes, especially from fellow musicians who actually knew him well, remind everyone of the lasting impact he had on those lives. For 5 Seconds of Summer, a friend now is gone, but also someone who played a key role in their rise to fame:. Read the full article

Eisenia fetida Extracts on Fusarium oxysporum Growth
Abstract
Banana wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4), is a worrying destructive banana disease of which there is not yet effective control measures. The present study aimed to evaluate the ability of earthworms Eisenia fetida to be biological control agents against Foc TR4. Methodological approach consisted of assessing interactions between Foc TR4 and (i) enzyme β-N-Acetyl-glucosaminidase (NAGase) and (ii) E. fetida extracts that are the coelomic fluid (CF) and the crude crushed (CC). Then NAGase were dosed in E. fetida CF. Foc TR4 growth was inhibited by NAGase but no effect was observed with the extracts CF and CC of E. fetida. Enzymatic dosage showed that CF contained 0.015 ± 0.006IU/mg protein as NAGase activity. These results suggest the possible use of E. fetida in biocontrol of Foc TR4 however through a process other than the extracts CC and CF. The outcomes of this study may constitute background data allowing to explore potential of earthworms in biocontrol of banana pathogenic fungi, which is of great significance to the development of banana industry system and to the reduction in the use of fungicides.
Introduction
Banana (Musa spp.) is one of the world's most important crops owing to its economic and food interest. Its fruits, namely cooking bananas (AAB, ABB, ...) and dessert bananas (AAA) are used in the diet of many populations in both importing and exporting countries (Lassoudière, 2007). In several tropical countries, plantain (AAB) is a staple food for various social strata. Plantain is an energetic food providing 120 kcal or 497 kJ per 100 g (Yao et al., 2014). Its commercialization constitutes a source of income for rural or lowincome populations (Ouina, 2017). Apart from bananas, other organs of banana plant such as pseudostem, leaves and peelings give rise to a wide variety of uses (animal feed, manufacture of industrial products) (Kumar et al., 2012; Jyothirmayi and Rao, 2015).
Like any plant crop, banana plant is prone to attacks by bacteria, viruses, fungi, nematodes and weevils. Among these attacks, fungi have been for a long time a growing threat and lead to severe affections of the leaves, stems, fruits and roots, resulting in significant yield reductions (Stover, 1959; Viljoen, 2002; De Bellaire et al., 2010; Dita et al., 2018). Fusarium wilt is one of the most serious fungal disease that affect banana plant. It is caused by the soil-borne fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) and is responsible of constraints on banana production causing serious economic losses worldwide (Ploetz, 2015; Dita et al., 2018. Based on the pathogenicity to host cultivars, Foc is divided into physiological races 1, 2 and 4. Unlike races 1 and 2 which affected respectively Gros Michel (AAA) and Manzano/Apple/Latundan (Silk, AAB), and cooking bananas of the Bluggoe (ABB) subgroup, race 4 has a broad host range. It infects almost all cultivars including "Dwarf Cavendish" (Musa sp. AAA group) as well as the hosts of race 1 and race 2 (Lassoudière, 2007; Sutherland et al., 2013; Lin et al., 2013). Race 4 has been split into subtropical race 4, which affects “Cavendish” and races 1 and 2 suscepts in the subtropics, and tropical race 4, which affects many of the same cultivars as subtropical race 4 in the tropics when disease-predisposing conditions are absent (Ploetz, 2015). Furthermore, vegetative compatibility which has been implemented owing to confusions of the race structure often happening in delineating strains of Foc, allow to identified a total of 24 vegetative compatibility groups (VCGs). Tropical race 4 is designated as VCG 01213/16 and subtropical race 4 belong to VCGs 0120, 0121, 0122, 0129 and 01211 (Dita et al., 2010; Mostert et al., 2017). Fusarium wilt, also known as Panama disease, affected several banana plantations in Australia, Taiwan, Philippines, India, Mozambique (Pegg et al., 1996; Ploetz, 2015; Viljoen et al., 2020) and South Africa (Viljoen, 2002). Control methods against Fusarium wilt that have been developed have focused on chemical (fungicide application) and cultural treatments, selection and varietal improvement by hybridization techniques (Bakry et al., 2005; Lassoudière, 2007). However, these control methods have shown limitations in adapting or mutating pathogens, in inaccessibility of improved banana varieties to farmers with low incomes (Ploetz, 2005; Kra et al., 2009).
Indeed, the banana cultivar "Gros Michel", which was the basis of banana export trade in Central America and resistant to Fusarium wilt, became sensitive in the years 1940 to 1950 and was replaced by the cultivar "Cavendish" (Ploetz, 2005). "Cavendish", the current export cultivar, has become sensitive since 1970 to Foc race 4 (Visser et al., 2009). Fungicide use is increasingly criticized by consumer associations and scientists due to their harmful effects on environment and on human health are (Lassoudière, 2007; Cirad, 2011, Brühl and Zaller, 2019). Regarding worrying destructible effects of Fusarium wilt and galloping world demography (for example 48,796,000 inhabitants in 2050 in Côte d’Ivoire so the double of the current population) (UN, 2015), efforts to protect and develop the production of this staple food should be intensified. Faced with the constraints related to the means of controlling Fusarium wilt previously mentioned, biological control is much explored as an alternative by the research (Gbongué et al., 2012; Mohammed et al., 2019; Torres-Trenas et al., 2019).
Earthworms are soil invertebrates that participate in soil aeration and water infiltration, increasing the nutrients content of the soil, mixing soil minerals with organic material. All making these organisms soil fertility agents (Römbke et al., 2005; Bhadauria and Saxena, 2010). In addition to this capacity of affecting positively soil functioning, earthworms were found to have potent antimicrobial activities. Indeed, they have developed innate immune mechanisms that detect pathogens by recognizing conserved molecular patterns (Prakash and Gunasekaran, 2011). Earthworm Eudrilus eugeniae paste showed inhibitory activity against pathogens such as bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Kebsiella pneumoniae and Salmonella abony, and fungi Candida albicans, Aspergillus flavus and Trichophytum rubrum (Vasanthi et al., 2013).
According Pan et al. (2003), the coelomic fluid of the earthworm, Eisenia fetida andrei (Savigny) was demonstrated to possess an antimicrobial activity directed against earthworm pathogenic bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila and Bacillus megaterium. Thus, living in an environment with abundant pathogens, earthworms developed defense strategies against the living pathogens.
For instance, they have suspected to synthesize β-N-acetyl-glucosaminidase (NAGase), an enzyme that hydrolyses chitin, one of the main constituents ensuring the rigidity of fungal wall (Guthrie and Castle, 2006). These defense strategies or metabolite compounds allowing to implement defense strategies can be exploited for finding innovative biological solutions to issues related to above mentioned means of controlling Fusarium wilt.
This study proposes to evaluate the ability of earthworms to be biological control agents against the fungus Foc TR4. Eisenia fetida is a favorite worm species for composting and is frequently used as a biological monitor for experimental tests (OECD, 1984; Garg et al., 2006; Ouina et al., 2017). Specifically, interactions between Foc TR4 and (i) enzyme NAGase and (ii) E. fetida extracts (crude crushed and coelomic fluid) were assessed.

Oneohtrix Point Never Live Preview: 4/23, Metro, Chicago
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Synth-heads rejoice! Daniel Lopatin, aka experimental music producer Oneohtrix Point Never, brings his always stellar live show to Metro tonight. His most recent album is last year's Again (Warp), a reflective collection of aesthetics you wouldn't normally associate with OPN's spirituous electronica: shoegaze, alt-rock, prog. Then again, Lopatin similarly mashed together otherwise dissonant sub-genres on 2015's Garden of Delete, the nu metal entry in his vast and ever-expanding catalog. Lopatin's versatility is certainly one of the most impressive things about him, not just in his own work, but in his ability to elevate others, whether R&B star The Weeknd (Dawn FM) or indie rock luminary Soccer Mommy (Sometimes, Forever).
Technically, OPN has two new EPs listed this year on streaming services: Scores and Ambients. The former is a collective of songs from Lopatin's soundtracks to Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring and the two Safdie brothers features he's scored, Good Time and Uncut Gems. The latter consists of six of OPN's more, yes, ambient-adjacent tracks, including the bookends of 2013's monumental R Plus Seven (with a shorter mix of the choral "Chrome Country" renamed "CC"), Again's "Gray Subviolet", the title track to 2018's Love in the Time of Lexapro EP, Replica's "Sleep Dealer", and the minute-and-a-half "Lovegirls Precinct", included on 2009 compilation Rifts but originally released as part of a split cassette with Cleveland drone duo Outer Space. Take the opportunity to listen to the songs anew, together; to my ears, that's always been the best way to experience Oneohtrix Point Never, finding resurfaced commonalities among the different stages of his brilliant career. And it's also how he'll likely play live, finding a cohesive set list by placing Zones Without People and Russian Mind songs next to Age Of and Magic Oneohtrix Point Never material.
The show is presented by CHIRP Radio. New York-based singer and modular synthesist Arushi Jain opens. Doors at 7:00 PM, show at 8. Tickets still available at time of publication.

Baltimore bridge collapse: A bridge engineer explains what happened, and what needs to change
- By Colin Caprani , Monash University , The Conversation -
When the container ship MV Dali, 300 metres long and massing around 100,000 tonnes, lost power and slammed into one of the support piers of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, the bridge collapsed in moments.
Six people are presumed dead, several others injured, and the city and region are expecting a months-long logistical nightmare in the absence of a crucial transport link.
It was a shocking event, not only for the public but for bridge engineers like me. We work very hard to ensure bridges are safe, and overall the probability of being injured or worse in a bridge collapse remains even lower than the chance of being struck by lightning.
However, the images from Baltimore are a reminder that safety can’t be taken for granted. We need to remain vigilant.
So why did this bridge collapse? And, just as importantly, how might we make other bridges more safe against such collapse?
A 20th century bridge meets a 21st century ship
The Francis Scott Key Bridge was built through the mid 1970s and opened in 1977. The main structure over the navigation channel is a “continuous truss bridge” in three sections or spans.
The bridge rests on four supports, two of which sit each side of the navigable waterway. It is these two piers that are critical to protect against ship impacts.
And indeed, there were two layers of protection: a so-called “dolphin” structure made from concrete, and a fender. The dolphins are in the water about 100 metres upstream and downstream of the piers. They are intended to be sacrificed in the event of a wayward ship, absorbing its energy and being deformed in the process but keeping the ship from hitting the bridge itself.
Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, showing the pier struck by the cargo ship and the sections of bridge which collapsed as a result. F Vasconcellos / Wikimedia, CC BY-SA
The fender is the last layer of protection. It is a structure made of timber and reinforced concrete placed around the main piers. Again, it is intended to absorb the energy of any impact.
Fenders are not intended to absorb impacts from very large vessels. And so when the MV Dali, weighing more than 100,000 tonnes, made it past the protective dolphins, it was simply far too massive for the fender to withstand.
Video recordings show a cloud of dust appearing just before the bridge collapsed, which may well have been the fender disintegrating as it was crushed by the ship.
Once the massive ship had made it past both the dolphin and the fender, the pier – one of the bridge’s four main supports – was simply incapable of resisting the impact. Given the size of the vessel and its likely speed of around 8 knots (15 kilometres per hour), the impact force would have been around 20,000 tonnes.
Bridges are getting safer
This was not the first time a ship hit the Francis Scott Bridge. There was another collision in 1980, damaging a fender badly enough that it had to be replaced.
Around the world, 35 major bridge collapses resulting in fatalities were caused by collisions between 1960 and 2015, according to a 2018 report from the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure. Collisions between ships and bridges in the 1970s and early 1980s led to a significant improvement in the design rules for protecting bridges from impact.
Guidelines like this have played a crucial role in improved bridge safety. IABSE
Further impacts in the 1970s and early 1980s instigated significant improvements in the design rules for impact.
The International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering’s Ship Collision with Bridges guide, published in 1993, and the American Association of State Highway and Transporation Officials’ Guide Specification and Commentary for Vessel Collision Design of Highway Bridges (1991) changed how bridges were designed.
In Australia, the Australian Standard for Bridge Design (published in 2017) requires designers to think about the biggest vessel likely to come along in the next 100 years, and what would happen if it were heading for any bridge pier at full speed. Designers need to consider the result of both head-on collisions and side-on, glancing blows. As a result, many newer bridges protect their piers with entire human-made islands.
Of course, these improvements came too late to influence the design of the Francis Scott Key Bridge itself.
Lessons from disaster
So what are the lessons apparent at this early stage?
First, it’s clear the protection measures in place for this bridge were not enough to handle this ship impact. Today’s cargo ships are much bigger than those of the 1970s, and it seems likely the Francis Scott Key Bridge was not designed with a collision like this in mind.
So one lesson is that we need to consider how the vessels near our bridges are changing. This means we cannot just accept the structure as it was built, but ensure the protection measures around our bridges are evolving alongside the ships around them.
Second, and more generally, we must remain vigilant in managing our bridges. I’ve written previously about the current level of safety of Australian bridges, but also about how we can do better.
This tragic event only emphasises the need to spend more on maintaining our ageing infrastructure. This is the only way to ensure it remains safe and functional for the demands we put on it today.

This episode is the second of a two-part series looking back on 18 years of Radio BSOTS. Truth be told, the second half of the BSOTS life span is largely defined by inconsistency on the podcast feed and finding a regular groove on the broadcast side of the equation due to joining Bondfire Radio in 2015. Being a part of that radio family felt bigger than BSOTS and I wanted to be a team player. One might say that I ghosted my own podcast, but I came back to the feed when I felt like I had something to say. And when I couldn't find the right words, I let the music speak.
The selections included in this episode are all from artists that I've played in the past. Nangdo and Shlohmo both provide some stellar beat business found on the Free Music Archive. The moodiness of Shlohmo's "Socks" feels murky and disoriented while "Minor Event" by Nangdo plays around with brighter tones and vocal harmonies. Over on Jamendo, Canadian artist Exmiranda offers up a hynotic, hip-shaking cut in "Stroll" and Shon Tha Phenom turns the power of positive thinking into the anthmemic "Alright Anyway." Meanwhile, I used to play Devin Morrison's music on my Bondfire broadcasts years before I found out that his work is released under a Creative Commons license. "Guaranteed" is warm and soulful and feels like the nervous energy one gets when trying to play it cool around someone that they're attracted to.
It was important for me to represent for the music of Mikal Amin, Mtume Gant, and Baba Israel on this episode. All three of them spoke to me separately about being a part of Bondfire Radio, but long before that, they were all good friends of mine and artists that I had in mind when starting this podcast. Their recorded output and live performances rekindled my love for hip-hop at a time when I thought that I was done with it. CM & Tha Silent Partner represent another shining example of hip-hop that can reaffirm or reestablish one's faith in the genre. Their blocSonics E.P. remains one of the sonic highlights of the blocSonic netlabel's back catalog. I stil can't get over the fact that a clip from one of my early podcast episodes kicks off their follow-up release, blocSonics 2!
The last nine years have been full of highs and lows for this podcast, but I'm just thankful that it's still here. Although I take some time to tell my story, the music is still the star of the show and I hope that you find a new favorite artist or song as you listen.

Week 9: Arena of Valor eSports
1.What is eSports ?
Esports stands as the pinnacle of competitive gaming, where teams of players engage in professional-level competition, vying for substantial cash rewards. These esports athletes are signed by various organizations, much like athletes in traditional sports such as football or basketball. Like their counterparts in traditional sports, these teams diligently practice and compete in their chosen games. Depending on the game they specialize in - whether it be shooters like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports and Call of Duty esports or a range of other genres like sports simulations and battle royale games - numerous tournaments and events are held each year, offering significant prize money that can sometimes reach into the millions (Ford James 2020).
Each esports organization typically manages multiple teams across different games. Take Fnatic, for example; founded in 2004, they currently field teams in 10 different games including Fortnite esports, League of Legends esports, and PUBG Mobile esports. Other prominent organizations in the esports industry include G2 esports, Team SoloMid, Team Liquid, and many others (Ford James 2020).
2. What is Arena of Valor ?
Arena of Valor represents a thrilling Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game that has its roots in the innovative mods of Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Within the gaming sphere, MOBAs like League of Legends and Dota 2 have soared to the pinnacle, orchestrating grand multi-million dollar tournaments on an annual basis. Despite their widespread popularity, these games are renowned for their formidable learning curves, posing a formidable challenge to newcomers or those unfamiliar with similar genres. To facilitate players' journey into the realm of Arena of Valor, let's embark on an exploration of this dynamic genre and unravel its unique facets (Green 2018).
Players are immersed in the dynamic battlefield of Arena of Valor from a distinctive third-person perspective. Unlike traditional real-time strategy games where players command vast armies, MOBAs center around the control of a single powerful entity known as a hero. These heroes wield a normal attack, two standard abilities, a passive ability, and an ultimate ability. The normal attack serves as the primary method for heroes to engage in combat, dealing damage unless augmented by items or special abilities.
Each hero boasts a passive ability that bestows upon them a unique effect that remains constantly available. These passive abilities may trigger under specific conditions or provide a consistent enhancement to the hero's arsenal. Standard abilities encompass the impressive spells and techniques that define each hero's playstyle, distinguishing them from their counterparts. These abilities can inflict damage, support allies, or exert control over the battlefield dynamics. Crowd control effects, known as CC abilities, can hinder opponents but require resources like mana and entail cooldown periods.
Ultimate abilities represent formidable moves that remain locked until a hero reaches level 4. Mastery of these abilities can be pivotal in turning the tide of battles. Heroes in Arena of Valor are typically categorized into six distinct roles: Tank, Warrior, Assassin, Mage, Marksman, and Support (Green 2018).
3. The development of Arena of Valor
Arena of Valor, originally launched in November 2015 in China under the name Honor of Kings, has achieved remarkable success since its inception. While its popularity and astonishing numbers continue to dominate the Chinese gaming landscape, its triumph in the Western markets has been more modest.
In the United States and Europe, the game has garnered approximately $15 million and $12.6 million respectively, according to Sensor Tower (Forde & Editor 2020). However, these figures pale in comparison to the game's colossal revenue in China, where it claims an estimated 96% of its $4.5 billion earnings. TiMi Studio, a subsidiary of Tencent and the mastermind behind Arena of Valor, proudly states that the game's daily active player count has steadily risen since implementing significant optimizations in late 2019 (Forde & Editor 2020).
Having conquered the Asian gaming market and ventured into the Western territories, Arena of Valor has now expanded its dominion to 67 new countries and regions, including the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) and Russia (Forde & Editor 2020). Curious about the studio's strategic focus on these new frontiers, especially amidst the ongoing global pandemic, we sat down with Ray Ning, the executive producer of Arena of Valor, and Vincent Gao, the international business director of TiMi Studios, to uncover their insights.

just chiming in with my experience as someone who got a lot of notes like three years ago and now it's a dead simblr.
we used to be a proper community; from 2015 to 2019. i think people nowadays don't know how exciting it was to just log on to see people sharing cc just because it was a passion project; that was the norm.
i'm so thankful that there's still people doing the same thing now in this artificial wasteland that simblr has become.
now i think that our decline as a community started with the monetization of cc, now cc isn't a passion project that you can appreciate and be thankful that the creator decided to share it in the first place. it's a product that you buy, and you better like it because you're paying for it.
also, as someone who used to support a lot of creators on patreon back in the day, i don't think that i did it because i actually wanted to support them; instead, their cc had become an exclusive item, and i just couldn't wait to get it.
it's gotten to the point where i think that of the 15 creators i used to be a patreon of, now if i could i'd only support 2, and one of the is not longer active, so let's get that number back to 1.
now the popular cc creators only come here to post their links to patreon, because they are making bank and they no longer need to build a community for it to happen.
or they give the collections to popular simblrs to post with a similar model to a sponsored post, and that's when you get content fatigue because i have seen like five different simblr posting the same damned collection, and even if it has not been released to the public i'm already tired of seeing it.
and i carry some of the fault too, back in 2018 i had no problem with reblogging cc that i liked or other people's posts, but somewhere along the way i got into the mindset that i needed to build my own brand (which i think is what's currently happening on a major scale now) and that meant i only had to post my own stuff. during the time, i was getting a lot of notes; it was getting to the point where i stressed myself with getting posts out just to keep the roll going, and then it came the burnout that made me leave the community for a couple years.
now for me, simblr feels so artificial on a large scale. i think that's probably because a lot more people realized you can make an easy and big buck creating cc for this game, and ea won't care or put rules in place to prevent this happening because they want a piece of the cake too, so they'll never go against big name creators.
but that has left us with a community that feels more individualist and artificial than never before.
dude, it's unreal because i have around 2.5k followers here, and i actually prefer to spend my time here on tumblr in my fandom-specific sideblog, where i have less than 150 followers, but whenever i post i get a real sense of a community responding to my posts.
hell, i have even posted some of my sims there, because if i were to do it here in simblr my post feels like a drop in the bucket.
I've been seeing alot of people felling discouraged from simblr and feeling like they don't belong
Especially when there is alot of posts going around telling you not to focus on popularity etc
But im here to tell you ITS NOT YOU
You did nothing worng you do infact belong here its not your fault people in this community are not interactive (and yes its just this community im in two other fandom spaces and they work just fine people here are the outlier)
And my proof that its not your fault?
I have 3200 follower (all real people i removed the bots myself)
So you would think i would get alot of notes and feel included right?
WRONG
3k+ followers and this year the most notes i got on any non cc post i made was 15 and on cc posts it was 56
The only post that got alot of notes all year was my simblreen treats post and you would think with 3k people watching it would be 1000 notes or something but no last time i checked it was barely over 100
There are like 3 people that occasionally talk to me sometimes on my posts lol (very thankful i know no one owes me anything)
And i have had this blog for 6+ years
My point is
You belong just fine and i personally am happy you are here
Its not your fault people are being stubborn and refusing to reblog on the reblog website
(imma be real with you if i owened this website im removing the like option this is the reblog website you don't need to only like stuff but i dont own it so 🤷♂️)

Russia Lost Brand New Warship to Country With No Navy - Technology Org
While Ukraine does have a Navy as a branch of its Armed Forces, it does not have any active ships. That is a simple truth. Ships that it did have were either destroyed or stolen by Russia after 2014. However, this does not stop Ukraine from destroying the Russian Black Sea navy.
Tsiklon and Askold in 2020. Tsiklon was commissioned on 12th of July 2023, Askold is yet to be commissioned. Image credit: Kremlin.ru via Wikimedia (CC BY 4.0)
On Saturday, November 4th, it was reported that yet another Russian warship was heavily damaged in Crimea. This time it was Askold – a brand new Karakurt-class corvette. It was parked by the southern shores of the occupied Crimea when it was hit by at least three missiles. It appears that these hits were not enough to actually sink the ship, but it is unlikely to enter service any time soon.
The Project 22800 Karakurt was publicly presented in 2015. It is a new class of small fast military ships, armed with automatic cannons and missiles, including 8 cells for Kalibr or Oniks anti-ship cruise missiles.
The building of the first Karakurt-class corvettes started in 2015 and the first one, Mytishchi (ex-Uragan), was commissioned in 2018. Russia plans to build 16 Karakurt corvettes and four of them are already active.
The Karakurt-class corvette is 67-metre long ship with a complement of 50-70 sailors. It is said that the top speed of these ships is 30 knots (56 km/h) and they have endurance for 15 days. They are not intended for long missions – corvettes in Russian Navy strategy are designed to act quickly and attack targets with guided missiles. On the other hand, Karakurt ships have a range of 4,600 km.
Construction of the Karakurt-class corvette Askold for the Black Sea Navy started in 2016. It was launched on 21 September 2021, but never entered service. It was probably pretty close to being commissioned when it was hit by a Ukrainian cruise missile strike on 4 November 2023 in the occupied Kerch.
👀 The moment of the explosion in Kerch, previously the rocket was shot down, but it fell and exploded over the docks.

Witnesses say that Askold was hit by at least three missiles. We can guess that they were the British Storm Shadow cruise missiles, although some other options are available for the defenders of Ukraine. It is likely that Askold was saved by the fact that it was not armed – no ammunition could detonate on it. In the same attack the Zalyv Shipbuilding yard, Kerch, was damaged too.
There is a better video of the attack too:
Here that’s better.
You’re Askold as ice, you’re willing to sacrifice our love. You never take advice, someday you’ll pay the price, I know.

— NOELREPORTS 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 (@NOELreports) November 6, 2023
Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s Black Sea navy assets are impressive. Of course, the destruction of the flagship Moskva was an unbelievable achievement both symbolically and strategically.
Then there were numerous landing ships and other ships that were destroyed or damaged by cruise missile and surface drone attacks. Ukraine even attacked a Russian submarine – on 13 September 2023 Rostov-na-Donu was damaged in a dry dock by Storm Shadow missiles.
