CREDIMI ALMEN
Armin x Fem!black!reader
Credimi Almen- Italian
Translation- Believe me at least
angst.
Armin had messed up. He had cheated on you and had the nerve to cry.
You had watched them kiss. He couldn’t use the excuse that ‘he was drunk’, he couldn’t say that it wasn’t an accident, he couldn’t say he didn’t mean it, because you saw it with your own bare fucking eyes.
You weren’t crying, you were just staring and you forgot to blink. Your eyes were wide, warm tears streaming down your face and your eyes started to burn. Thank goodness you didn’t have anything in your hands, or somebody would’ve been dead. You could imagine blood all over the cold marble floors, blood on your hands and sirens in the background.
Armin finally looked up from kissing the unknown woman. He paused in horror. He didn’t mean for you to see that. He didn’t know that you were gonna be there. His mind started to race, his heart pounded so hard that it could’ve ripped right through his chest.
“Y/n! What are you doing here!? This isn’t what it looks like, I can e-explain all of thi-”
“Don’t…You can pack your shit and get the fuck out of my house and you can get the fuck out of my life. You better be there to get your shit in an hour or it’s gonna be in a fuckin fire. Delete my number and remove me from your socials, we’re done.” You said coldly, not stuttering once. Your tear stained face going blank. The spark in your eyes became nonexistent, and the beautiful smile that once lived on your face had vanished. And you had became a walking piece of venom towards Armin in 2 minutes. It made him want to perish.
There he was knocking at your door, tears threatening to fall from his eyes. You opened the door, looking away from the man that was once the light of your life.
“Your stuff is back there. I packed it for you.” You mumbled. The tears fell from Armin’s eyes. You looked up at him in disbelief. “Why are you crying?” You scoffed. “Are you fucking serious, Armin? You literally have no reason to be crying! I’m the one who got cheated on! But you have the nerve to cry?! Armin, you better stop standing here looking stupid and get your shit and get the fuc-” “No. Y/n I still love you, I-I don’t know what I was thinking. Please, believe me at least when I say, you a-are the love of my life.” The tears got heavier in his eyes, his breath was shaky as he waited for you to answer.
“Like I said, your stuff is in the back. Hurry up and get it, so you can leave.” “Y/n, I-” “I’m not gonna say it again. Don’t make me do something i’m going to regret.” You said. He looked at you, eyes wide, after 5 seconds, he walked to go get his stuff.
You packed all of his shit, to make sure he didn’t come back. You didn’t want to see his face, and now, you didn’t have to.
Ya’ll, i’m tryna be consistent and i think i’m doing pretty good. This story was inspired off of the song, Caro Mio Ben. Thanks for reading, see you next time! Love you!💫❤️

Chapter 4
After the eventful day yesterday, I could say that today was extremely boring. For some unknown reason, Stiles and Jackson had not shown up to school. But, after what happened I would have missed too, but I left my bike here and I needed to get it back. I wasn’t planning on staying longer than needed. Once the day was over and the clock hit three, I sped off to my house. I was still tired from yesterday and all I wanted to do was take a big long nap. My body felt heavy, and my head hurt like hell.
But once I got home, I knew that I wouldn't be sleeping like I wanted to.
"What are you doing here, Derek?" I asked as I took off my helmet.
"We need to talk."
"No, we don't. There's nothing to talk about."
"(Y/N), please. You have been avoiding me for almost two weeks now. I need to know why." He sounded desperate.
"And I want to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. Guess we won't be getting any answers today." I tried to walk to the door, but he grabbed my arm. "Let. Me. Go."
"Please, just talk to me. Give me a reason." His stare burned a hole in me. "Please."
"Seriously, Derek. Just leave me alone." He finally let me go, my arm feeling cold missing his touch.
"I won't stop until you talk to me and explain."
"Then get comfortable, sour wolf, you'll be waiting a long time." I entered the house and locked the door, finally letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
I changed into comfortable clothing and started cleaning the house. My parents would be here tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure the house was spotless. Truly, I just needed something to take my mind off Derek. Why did he make me feel this way? Yesterday the only thing I was wondering was why HE was there. And I didn't want to think that way. I didn't want to care about him. Not now, not ever.
After I finished cleaning, I found myself with nothing to do, so I ran upstairs and took a shower. I tried to take all the time in the world but there wasn't enough. I got out and went to bed thinking of the events of yesterday.
I was running through the forest and I felt someone chasing me. No matter how fast I ran, the creature ran faster. Before I knew it my body had collided with the floor and towering above me was the thing that had screeched last night. It looked lost, like it needed to find his purpose. His slit eyes stared down onto mine and his sharp teeth expelled a sort of saliva that trickled down to my face. His tail was moving up and down my legs teasing a cut. I wanted to move but I knew if I did it would try to kill me, so I stayed put. I closed my eyes and awaited what would happen but instead of death, a roar sounded. Startled, the creature screeched, and I screamed back.
I woke up screaming and sweating just 5 minutes before my alarm would make a sound. I got out of my bed and went to take a shower to relieve me from the dream I just had. It sounded just like the screech from two nights ago. My body felt cold, and I had goosebumps everywhere. To calm my nerves, I put the water in a hot temperature and let it ease my muscles and relax my body. I would have maybe called Isaac but, after knowing he's somewhat involved with whatever is going on and him being a douchebag the last few days, I didn't even bother looking up his contact. Maybe it was for the best. After the year ended I could cut ties without any remorse.
Once I was done with my shower I changed into comfortable clothes once again and ran down the stairs. For more than an hour I was enjoying a horror movie on TV when I heard the doorknob rattle.
"Mom! Dad!" I ran and jumped on both.
"Hey, munchkin." My dad ruffled my hair and hugged me.
"Hey, darling. How did your week go?" My mom asked. How could I explain to her something I didn't know?
"Pretty uneventful. Just hanging out around the house, organizing my room and stuff. But, enough about me. Come in, settle down, tell me about your week."
"Honey, why don't you go sit down, we need to talk about something." I looked at my mom weirdly and went to the kitchen to sit down.
"What's going on?" I looked at my parents who were fixing up dinner.
"Munchkin, you know how each year we have to move due to my business. Well, this year is gonna be different."
"We're not moving. Dad, you've said that before. How do I know you're not lying again?"
"We took this week kind of on a trial basis. You’re getting older and can handle bigger responsibilities like taking care of yourself and the house by yourself. So, it seems that we can be away for elongated periods of time and you’ll be just fine. And in any case, your uncle is here to take care of you."
"We will be living here in Beacon Hills and any business that needs to be taken care of we will just leave town for a few days. Are you okay with that?" My mother smiled.
"Okay?! I'm beyond okay!" I jumped up from the stool and hugged my parents. "This is the best news ever!"
"That's great, honey. Now go do something while I start dinner."
When my parents told me the news that we were staying the first person that came to mind was Derek.
I had been avoiding him for such a long time and he did deserve some answers and maybe I could get some from him about what was going on in this freak show of a town. I decided to text him and told him to meet me at his house in the woods. I awaited his answer and rode my bike down the now familiar trail. And just as he had said, there he was, waiting on the front steps of the house.
"Hey, Derek," I said softly. It was hard to swallow my pride after the way I had been acting.
"Hey, (Y/N). Are you finally ready to talk?" He said in a calm and soothing voice. Absolutely the opposite of what I was expecting. I nodded my head and sat down next to him. "So, why have you been avoiding me? Is it something I did?"
"No. I just had to."
"You had to?"
"Look, all my life I have had to pack everything up and leave behind a whole life. Every time the year ends, I need to forget about one life and start another. I have ignored so many people that have only been nice to me because I don't want to grow attached. Cause when I leave, I know I will never see them again and I'd rather be alone than have to pass through that heartache."
"So, once we started growing close you had to cut ties so you could forget about me." I nodded and he let out a sigh. "I get it. But you could've told me."
"Yeah? How? Hey, I'm gonna start to forget you now so I don't have to later. Wouldn't be too sensitive, would it?"
"No, but I would have understood." He looked at me. His eyes held kindness and understandings, things I didn’t deserve for my actions. "But why are you telling me now?"
"My parents told me that we're not leaving this time. We're here for good."
"So that means you'll stop ignoring me?"
"Yes." He smiled and gave me a hug. I hugged him back. "Now that I have given you answers, I need some in return."
"Like?"
"What the hell happened on Thursday?"
"Oh. That." He paused for a second and groaned, but I motioned him to answer me. "Of course. But what I tell you right now must stay between us, and you must give me your word that no one will know that I was the one who told you. Not Scott or Allison, not even your parents."
"Is it that important?"
"Absolutely. Look what's happening here, it's not normal nor human."
"What are you talking about, Derek?" I chuckled.
"Everything around you are not what it seems. There's just no easy way to say this."
"Derek, ballpark it."
"I'm a werewolf, an alpha. And so is Scott, Isaac, Erica, and Boyd, they're betas. Your family, including Allison, are hunters. They kill people like me and the others. That screech you heard yesterday, it came from a Kanima. A walking snake-like creature that kills people, murderers exactly, after paralyzing them with a type of venom it creates." He looked into my eyes trying to search for something. An answer, a sign, anything. It just wasn't there. "(Y/N), please. Say something."
I tried to speak up, but nothing came out. Maybe it was the shock, maybe I wasn't ready to hear this, maybe I didn't want to know that everyone around me was different. Out of this world, sort to speak. Everything was changing and I couldn't do anything about it. I saw Stiles' jeep coming closer. Out of it came Scott, Allison, and, obviously, Stiles. I got up from the steps, ignoring their calls and Derek calling my name.
"Where are you going, (Y/N)?"
"Home." I turned on the motorcycle and tried to leave but I couldn't. I was frozen, listening to their conversation.
Derek's POV "What's happening?" Stiles asked.
"She's leaving, dimwit. Don't you have eyes?"
"Why would she leave like that?" Allison questioned and directed her sight to me. "What did you do?"
"Nothing. We were just talking."
"What exactly where you guys talking about?" Scott asked.
"Everything."
"As in." I stared at him and raised an eyebrow. "Oh, everything."
"Derek, why the hell would you do that?! It was not in your place to tell her about that."
"Oh, like you would have told her anything. Just like you're telling Lydia. She came to me for answers, and I gave them to her."
"That is none of your business."
"I was not going to continue to lie to her. You do whatever the hell you want but I couldn't go on like that."
"Honestly, Derek. What is your problem?! She's nothing to you so I don't understand why you had to bring her into this twisted world." Allison screamed.
"You know why she has to know. I accept that it's not my place, but I knew you wouldn't say anything and, also, I didn't bring her into this. Your bloodline did. Don't pin this on me." Allison starts fuming and closing the gap between us but stops dead in her tracks when she heard the same thing all of us heard. (Y/N) falling off her bike.
"(Y/N)!!" I ran towards her and picked her up.
"Don't touch her!" Allison screamed.
"You can't tell me what to do." I bumped our shoulders and headed towards the house. "But if you wanna help out you can follow me."
Fuming, Allison followed me into the living room with the trail of puppies on her back. She helped me gently lay down (Y/N) on the couch whilst Scott found some gauze and alcohol for a scratch on her face and hopefully what would wake her.
After cleaning the wound, I held a gauze dripping with alcohol under her nose, but nothing happened.
"This is what I wanted to avoid. She seems so strong, but she is so fragile too. I wanted her to find this all out through her parents. Not some stranger she just met." Allison spoke to Scott.
"I think you underestimate the strength she has. And trust me, I am no stranger to her." I spat at her. "At least I was the only one brave enough to give her the answers she was seeking."
"Derek, honestly I could give two shits about what you think right now. It's your fault she fainted. Again, you had no fucking right."
"Look, Allison, I get it. You don't want her in this world because she's better than you. I get it." I smirked at her and she lunged at me. Scott held her back but I wanted the reaction. I was completely fuming, (Y/N) deserved better than lies.
As she struggled, Stiles’s words brought us back from the fight.
"Guys, she's waking up."
I directed my gaze again to (Y/N) and noticed her eyes fluttering open. "See, she's fine."
"But she wasn't."
"Well, she is now." I gritted my teeth.
(Y/N)'s POV
"Um, guys, yeah. I'm still here stop talking about me as if I were gone."
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Allison asked as if I had hurt myself.
"I'm fine. My body is functioning normally, my legs are moving one after the other, my lips are opening and closing, and my tongue is moving, and my arms are flailing. I'm super."
"Take it easy, (Y/N). You just found out a lot of stuff." Scott said.
"Yeah, you two are werewolves." I pointed at him and at Derek, then at Allison. "And you, along with our family, a hunter." I looked at Stiles. "And you're human, like me."
"And?" Derek asked in a harsh tone as if trying to keep up the mean façade he had. It made me angry, but the worry was evident in his eyes.
"It's fine. It's weird but fine." This time I did get on my motorcycle and started it.
"Whoa, where do you think you're going?" Stiles tried to stop me midway.
"Um, as I said before, home."
"You can't drive in this state, especially in a motorcycle. You could crash!"
"Allison, I have never in my life of driving crashed a motorcycle whereas cars, enough to start a small dealership, and some of them weren't even mine. I think I'm good." As I tried to leave, once again I was stopped. This time by Derek.
"I'll take you home."
"Um, you've done enough. I'll take her home." Allison stepped in. They got in each other's faces and I had to step in between them.
"Mom, dad. Stop. I hate when you fight." I snorted. "Sorry, but I'll take myself home."
Before any of them could answer I got on my motorcycle and sped off the same way I came through. When I got home, I was out of breath and dizzy. Everything Derek had said kept replaying in my mind over and over, like an endless loop of unimaginable words that seemed to be part of a dream. The front door of my house seemed so far, and it felt like almost half an hour had passed until I got there. Everything passed by slowly and blurry.
My father called out to me and it felt like I answered but I had no idea what I said. Maybe something in the lines of I'm tired, I'm gonna go to bed. I ascended the stairs one step at a time until I reached the top. It felt like climbing the Great Wall of China, but finally, I made it to my bedroom. Once I entered, I got the scare of my life and everything went back to normal. Derek was in my room.
"What the hell are you doing here, Derek?!" I yelled in a soft whisper.
"I wanted to see if you were really okay. You didn't seem good when you left."
"I'm fine," I said in a cold voice and started looking for my pajamas. He wasn't believing me, and neither was I. "Seriously, Derek. I am."
"You don't seem or sound fine. I heard you when you got here, you were out of breath and you took your time to get up the stairs as if it was the biggest climb of your life." It was evident that he was worried about me but there was nothing to worry about. I may still be in a bit of shock. He just needed to chill. Deep down I knew how scared I was. The world had turned into different stop frames. I could see everything pass me by inch by inch. I had time for everything. I could easily have gone to the other side of the planet and back and not more than a minute could have passed.
I went to the bathroom and changed in hopes that he would leave, even though I didn’t want him to. He didn't. He looked around my book collection which, I may add, is quite big. My father had some people make a built-in bookcase and desk. It was probably my favorite place in the whole house, the kitchen ended second. Derek had taken one of my favorite books in his hand.
"Pride and Prejudice? Hm, never would have pictured you to read this kind of book."
"There's many things you don't know about me, sour wolf."
"Seriously, you're gonna keep calling me that? Even after you know it's true."
"That makes it more fun." I smiled weakly. "So, werewolf, huh?" He nodded. "And my family is filled with hunters." He nodded again. "And they hunt you."
"(Y/N), if this is too much for you, we can leave you out of it."
"It doesn't matter if you leave me out of it, I'll still be involved. I just don't want anything to change."
"I know. Me either." He said looking down. I walked over to him and hugged him needing some type of warmth. His arms engulfed me, and I felt relieved, completely forgetting how mad I was at him for being a dick not a few hours ago.
"It's just for the first time in my life I thought I cloud have a normal life with my family and new friends. I hoped to settle in a normal town where it's so boring, but you fall in love with the people there and never want to leave. I guess I just wanted normal."
"And I just ruined that." He sighed, his chest rising and falling against my head. "I'm sorry."
"Don't blame yourself. My parents would have brought me into that world soon enough. I think that's why they've had me working out and training for no apparent reason. They were hoping I would join the family business."
"Would you?"
"Huh?" I looked up at him.
"If they asked you to become a hunter, would you?"
"If I hadn't met Isaac, or your pack, or Scott... or you, I probably would have. But I can't be a part of something that hunts innocent creatures just because they believe the whole species is bad." He nodded but stayed quiet.
I went over to my bed in hopes he would stay but he made his way to the window. I don't know what came over me, but I called out to him. "Don't go. Stay, please."
Without another word he turned off the lights and sat next on the chair that was in the corner next to my bed. Finally, I drifted off with the possibility of words flowing from his mouth.
Derek's POV
"I'll never leave you." I whispered to her as she closed her eyes and drifted into sleep. After some time, she started squirming and her heartbeat began to race. I sat next to her, and without waking up, she got closer and snuggled into my chest. I put an arm around her and heard her heartbeat slowly go back to normal.
At around midnight I heard voices arguing downstairs. I didn't mean to overhear but I couldn't help it.
"You went looking for her again, didn't you, Henry?"
"Of course, I did. I'll look for her until the day I die."
"You know you'll never find her. That was the point. You told her to hide, and she did. So much that not even you can find her. I guess she didn't love you enough." She sighed. "And even if you found her, your father would use all his power to kill her."
"At least I loved her more than I'll ever love you, and that's enough for me."
After that, a long silence.
Then, a door slammed shut.
Moments after I heard footsteps coming up the stairs.I tried my best to move in case they decided to check in with her, but (Y/N)’s grip on me only tightened. I had no escape other than to brace myself for whatever could happen.
My heart started to race faster and faster as the steps became closer to the room.
Step.
Step.
Step.
Her mother was right outside her door, probably debating waking her daughter up to wish her a good night. My breath hitched in my throat when the door handle started to softly turn; the gears in my brain turning, looking for the quickest escape. The door handle had turned completely and I prepared myself to run. But, it was let go. The footsteps receded and ended in the room next to (Y/N)’s. Once I heard her settle in bed I finally relaxed. I curled (Y/N) onto me and wrapped her tight. Something in me just wanted to protect her and let her know she’s not alone. I hadn’t felt this way in a long time and for the first time I wanted to see where it could lead.

Coffee and Funny socks
A/N: So this a modern au of feysand as single parents, hope ya’ll like it💖
“Cassian Illriya Archeron!” Feyre yelled as she slammed the front door. She had a cup of coffee in one hand and a box of treats in the other, she carefully set down her precious mind fuel and grabbed her coat before checking the clock. She groaned, they were late-horribly late. “Cassian!” she yelled once more, after waiting for a few minutes for her son to run down from his room she sighed but at once grinned as an idea formed.
She took 2 doughnuts out of the box and laid them on a plate before putting the rest in the fridge and said loudly, “If you don’t come down this instant, I’m gonna eat all the doughnuts, especially the chocolate glazed ones. ” within a matter of seconds Cassian was running down the stairs, backpack in hand. He ran towards her, a worried look in his eyes.
“Mum! I’m here!” he said while panting, “ please don’t eat them.” Feyre laughed and handed him the chocolate glazed doughnut and smiled as his son lit up. “Thank you, mom! I was drawing a tiger for ‘save the tiger’ day.” Feyre ruffled his hair and picked up her coat, coffee and keys before looking around the room, mumbling to herself, “Stove’s off, the oven’s off, all things that could burn down our house is off, right Cass?” she directed this question to her son, who was currently pigging out, he shook his head, crumbs all over his face. Feyre cleared her throat and he looked up and grinned, Feyre rolled her eyes before ratting off things in their checklist, “Backpack? Books, pencil box, snack box, water bottle and project? ” Cass made a doubtful face before nodding,“ All check.”
“Great, now let’s go before I have to drag you to school on a magic carpet,” Feyre said as she started walking, holding her son’s hand before wiping the crumbs off of his face. She held onto his face and smothered him with kisses, Cassian giggled, “I finished that doughnut in record time mum!” Feyre crouched down so that she was eye to eye with her son and held her hand out for a fist bump, “Archeron power?” Cass nodded before knocking his fist against hers’ and shouting, “Archeron power.” Feyre smiled and nudged him out the door, locking it behind her and buckled him into the car seat before driving away to their first parent-teacher meeting of grade 3.
~
“Excuse me- sorry,” Feyre squeezed through the crowd of parents and students milling about in the hallway, clutching her coffee to her chest like a lifeline. She had dropped Cass off at Elain’s but got held up because her neice, Andy, wanted to play with aunt Feyre for a while and she could never say no to Andy, so here she was, an hour late, desperately trying to find her son’s class for the past ten minutes. She stopped to ask a teacher as to where Mr Spring’s class was when she spotted the gaudy roses pasted on the door and nearly sighed in relief.
She all but ran to the room, squeezing through the crowd and walked over to the back of the packed classroom when someone called her name, rooting her to the spot “Feyre, it’s good to see you! I’ll be right there.” Feyre smiled reluctantly at the preppy voice of Ianthe and rolled her eyes resuming her search to find a space to sit when she crashed into someone’s chest, spilling her coffee all over their shirt, Feyre yelped, and the man jumped back at the contact, hitting the back wall of the classroom. She shook her head and looked up at the stranger she had emptied her coffee on, “I am so sorry-” Her words were cut off as she took in the stranger who was the most beautiful man she had ever seen.
She was momentarily dumbstruck as the man raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow, showing off his mesmerising violet eyes. Feyre shook her head, scolding herself for oogling a stranger she had spilt coffee on and continued with her apologising, “I am really sorry, I can get that cleaned for you,” she paused, assessing him, “by the look of your whole outfit, that shirt must be very expansive” Feyre mumbled the last part to herself but he must’ve heard it for the man shook his head and smiled politely, “It’s fine,” Feyre raised her brow, her face skeptical, “Truly, it’s fine, thankfully the coffee was cold.”
He then surprised her by taking out a pair of striped, neon orange socks from his pockets to dry the coffee. Feyre’s eyes widened, “They’re my son’s” he chuckled and Feyre smiled, shoulders slumping with relief. She extended her hand for him to shake after dropping the now empty coffee cup into the waste bin, “I’m Feyre, Cassian’s mom.” he grasped her hand while his eyes widened on hearing her son’s name, his voice rose an octave as he said, “ You’re Cass’s mom?” Feyre nodded and the man’s jaw dropped comically, “ I’m Rhys, Azriel’s dad.”
Realisation dawned in Feyre, “Oh my god! Our sons are literally joined at the hip!” The man-Rhys nodded and released her hand before saying, “I know right. If I had known his friend’s mom was as drop-dead gorgeous as you are I would’ve come to drop him off at your house.”
Feyre’s face grew warm and she looked at her shoes while the man rubbed his neck sheepishly as if the words had slipped out without his control. After a few awkward seconds, he cleared his throat, “Anyway, what I meant to say before my mind lost consciousness, was, hello.” he laughed self consciously, slipping his hands into his pockets. Feyre smiled politely, “Hi.”
“So, did you meet Mr spring yet?” he asked and Feyre groaned making him grin, “You don’t like him do you?” Feyre scoffed and replied, “I would prefer walking on hot coals than talking to that self-entitled asshole.” he laughed, “ Definitely don’t like him then. That’s good.” she must’ve looked blank for he continued,
“ Cuz I absolutely detest him.” just as Rhys finished his sentence a voice broke through the raucous classroom, “ Good morning Parents, I’m Tamlin Spring.” both Feyre and Rhys groaned simultaneously before laughing quietly as they moved to stand with their backs facing the wall to listen to him.
Rhys scooted closer to Feyre while Mr Spring rambled on about his experience as a teacher. He leaned in and whispered, “ Wanna bet that he talks about how great of a teacher he is in about,” Rhys checked his watch before continuing, “2 minutes?” Feyre’s eyes lit up in challenge and she retorted with, “ Bet, but I’m gonna say 45 seconds.” Rhys’s smile grew and Feyre swore she saw his eyes glisten with mischief as he said, “You’re on.” both of them looked at their watches and at the 45-second mark Tamlin started talking about his expertise and Feyre whooped silently, “Aha! I won.” Rhys pouted mockingly but asked,
“ Well, what do you want darling?” Feyre tried to ignore the butterflies in her stomach as he called her darling and said, “I’ll let you pick, I mean I owe you at least that much after spilling 5 dollars worth of coffee on your, what I’m assuming 500 dollar shirt.” Rhys looked nervous as he said, “Well then if you insist, wanna go out for ice cream? You’ll pay obviously.” Feyre smirked, “Obviously.” enunciating the word but she was giddy as he said, “It’s a date.”

chapters; 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - ?
You don’t ask for favors.
Ever.
When you started camming, you learned how to work your lighting and cameras all on your own and started from the ground up; even if it was awkward at first. Every cent and every gift you’d gotten since then were given as donations and you’d made it a point to never ask for certain gifts or anything extra.
Until now.
“Um, yeah, sure! Within reason, of course.” Seungcheol replies with a shaky smile. A million thoughts run through his head in the split second before you reply, palms sweaty at the possibilities.
You wait for him to finish signing the receipt, thanking him for paying for lunch. “Well… See here’s the thing, right? I’m… Well, god, how do I even start this?” You pause, awkwardly laughing as you tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear. “I don’t want you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with but… I’m in town until Sunday night and I was wondering if you’d help me film?”
Seungcheol can only gulp, body buzzing as he takes in your words. “I--I mean, I, uh, I’d love to but I don’t know… I--I really don’t want to move that fast and I’d like to get to know you better before we--”
“No--no! Oh my gosh, I--not like that. I’m--I’m in the same boat as you just, sorry, I should’ve been more careful with my words! I mean, like, would you like to… be there? With me. You can watch me film and help me set up?” You offer, head tilting cutely as you wait for his response.
“It’s just, y’know, I don’t have all my camera equipment and stuff so it’d be nice to have someone who can help me set up for once… But only if you’re okay with it!”
And Seungcheol is more than okay with it; fingers gripping the cup of ice cream tightly as he watches you eat yours.
“Hey, ‘Cheollie your ice cream is melting…”
“Huh? Oh, yeah.” He mutters, unable to focus as the two of you sit in a nearby park. You try talking to him the entire time; although your words go in one ear and out the other. He feels bad, not taking in anything you talk to him about but he can’t help the way his mind runs rampant at the thought of being in the same room as you while you cammed.
If there was anything he was glad for, it was that you were, at least, on the same page as him for now which meant no fucking.
“Do you consider this a date?”
Seungcheol refocuses on you, blinking rapidly at your question. “I’m sorry, what?” Giggling, you repeat your question, finishing off your ice cream before setting your own cup down next to you on the bench.
“Oh, well, I mean--I--I’d like it? But if you don’t consider it a date, then we don’t have to!”
You lean in close to Seungcheol, resting your head on his shoulder. “You’re really interesting, ‘Cheol.” Pausing, you peer up at him through your lashes, watching as his face slowly forms a confused expression.
“What do you mean?”
“You’re… I dunno, guess I just expected a strict dom daddy in person and you’re… y’know, kinda shy and it’s cute.”
Seungcheol scoffs, inhaling what’s left of his ice cream before he sets his own cup down as well. “You think that for now, but you’ll see how easily I can slip right into character.” His eyes meet yours; fire burning beneath the surface. You can only bite your lip in response, finding your body already tingling with eagerness.
“I like that about you though, it’s nice that you’re not always strict or in character. I tried dating someone once who was always just… strict, and they hated that I cammed and it was just too much, y’know? Being possessive ‘n stuff.” He hums in response, letting you rest your head on his shoulder as the two of you enjoy each other’s company.
“I take it you two broke up?”
You nod in response, sighing. “I kinda knew it’d happen though. He was too possessive and jealous. D’you think you’d be like that, Seungcheol?”
He bites the inside of his cheek, toggling with an answer. “Dunno, on one hand I probably wouldn’t care ‘cause if it’s a person’s livelihood then it’s not my business, y’know? But at the same time I guess I can see where he was coming from…” He pauses, placing his arm on the backrest of the bench before pulling you in closer to himself.
“It’s all about communication, baby.”
Seungcheol takes you around town, purposely avoiding the roller rink until he can take you on Sunday. He takes you out for a light dinner as well, pampering you properly before he starts driving back to your hotel.
“Honestly, kinda shocked you wanted to hang out here for the weekend. It’s pretty boring around here. Unless you’re trying to find some ghosts.” He jokes, stopping at a red light. You laugh in return, relaxing into the passenger’s seat of Seungcheol’s car.
“It’s nice to get out once in a while! And you think it’s boring here but I can say the same about where I live. Truth be told, I’ve been thinkin’ about moving lately.” He glances your way, admiring your side profile as you stare out of the window.
“Yeah? Why’s that?”
“Mmm, it’s just… getting boring, I guess. It’s about an hour out from here which isn’t horrible, just, y’know, a small town. I could go for a change of pace.” You admire the twinkling lights as the sun goes down, sighing contentedly. “Probably doesn’t really help that I go out in wigs sometimes just so people don’t clock me from my cam shows either.” You joke back, loving the way Seungcheol’s laugh sounds when he joins in on your laughter.
“How about your friends though? Won’t they miss you?”
The smile slides from your face; a certain sadness washing over you as you stare out of the window. “Mmm… maybe? Some of them aren’t too keen on the idea of me camming anyway. They said it’s too dangerous. But maybe moving to a new place would give me a new start too.”
You scan the cardkey for your hotel room, pushing the door open enough for Seungcheol to step in as well.
“Welcome to my home for the next, like, 72 hours.” You flop onto the bed, moaning in comfort when you sink into the cool sheets. “God, is it just me or are hotel sheets the fuckin’ best?” Your words are muffled against the pristine sheets, Seungcheol settling into the chair at the side of the bed as he watches you get comfortable.
A genuinely smile crosses his features as he watches you doze off. “I can order you some if you’d like.” You raise your head from the sheets, pouting at Seungcheol who only smiles in return.
“You don’t have to…” You mumble, a soft blush coating your cheeks.
“I’ll have them sent to your mailing address.” He chuckles, making a note in his phone to look into it later.
The two of you cool down for a bit before you start setting up; you dozing off on the bed as Seungcheol watches, nervousness suddenly washing over him again. “Hey, I know this kinda got mentioned before but… What do you usually do to prepare for your cam shows?”
“It depends! Sometimes I’m just ready to go without needing any help, but sometimes I’m not, like, super in the mood so I’ll watch porn to kinda… help.” You giggle, rolling over and reaching for your laptop. “Recently though, it’s been kinda easier.” Seungcheol smirks, crossing his legs as he leans back into the plush chair.
“Yeah? Why’s that.”
“You’re really gonna make me say it…” You trail off as a thrum of arousal shoots down your body.
“Why not? Think of it as me helping you prep for you show. Let me get you in the mood.”
Seungcheol’s deep voice gets even deeper when he slips into character; a certain twinkle in his eyes letting you know that he was completely serious.
“Tell daddy exactly what you think of before that red light starts blinking, baby.”
The electricity in your body is undeniable when you start to set up your laptop, already changed into your lingerie set for your show; a baby pink coloured matching set with small embroidered cherries all over the mesh. Seungcheol had initially sent it to you as a bit of a play on your camming username, but you had loved the set and wore it as often as you could.
Seungcheol helps adjust the lighting, moving the lamps around until you’re bathed in a soft warm glow. “Is this lighting okay? Did you want me to move it again?” He asks, dragging the chair he was sitting in until it sits just behind the laptop you’d set up on the sheets.
“Mm, I think it’s okay! Do I look pretty?” You tease, fingertips playing with the lace hem of your panties.
“Of course you do, baby. Always.” He replies as he sits down, getting comfortable in his seat again.
“Now, are you gonna show daddy just how wet that cute ‘lil pussy gets for me?” Seungcheol smirks, watching as the lust already pools in your eyes when you meet his piercing stare. “I bet your panties are already so wet thinkin’ about my fat cock in your tight cunt, huh? That’s why it’s been so easy for you to get off recently, right?”
You check the clock, only 15 minutes until you started your cam show. “I--y--yes, daddy…” You run your fingertips down your torso, watching as Seungcheol palms himself over his denim pants. “I think about daddy sooo much recently… My mouth starts drooling just thinking about daddy cumming down my throat… and filling me up with so much cum…” You moan out; pussy clenching around emptiness.
“What else, princess? Let daddy hear what you want.” Seungcheol quietly undoes the button and zipper of his jeans, fingertips at the waistband of his boxer briefs before he slowly slides them under.
“I--I think about you, um, p-punishing me for being a bad girl… your hands tangled in my hair when you make me choke on your cock… or your hands wrapped around my throat when you’re fucking me from behind, nice ‘n hard ‘til I’m crying… but I also think about daddy being n-nice to me and pampering me… eating out my wet pussy while I cum all over daddy’s face…” You whimper, touching yourself over your panties. A choked whine spills from your lips when you press into the growing wet spot on the material, hazy eyes checking the clock.
“O-oh fuck, I---I need to start the show…” You whisper. Seungcheol nods, hand slowly stroking his hardening cock. “Is it okay for me to… uh, get off or--”
“Yeah! I--yeah…” You giggle quietly, the blush growing on your face as you avert your eyes from watching Seungcheol stroking his thick cock in front of you.
You do a countdown, hitting the record button before you lean away from your laptop.
Almost immediately, the comments flood in, as well as the donations; the sound of them pouring out of the speakers as you giggle.
“Hi guys~”
universe_WZ: just wanna say thank u for the pics, i literally get off to them every night
hoshi_tiger_xx: i was so close….
gentleman_josh95: MF U SAID 10
alphagyu97: lmfao hi baby
tangerine_kwan has donated $50
sleepy_wonu has donated $75
angelhan: every night? Ur dick is gonna fall off
Seungcheol watches as you laugh, wondering what the others were saying now that he wasn’t on the other side as usual. In all honesty, he thought it was a little weird watching you cam in real life. It was also a little weird to not be interacting with the others for once; a slight smirk on his face when he knows he has the better place.
“You’re welcome ‘universe_WZ’! I’m glad you like ‘em! Oh--Wow! We’re already close to the donation minimum for me to start already and thank god! ‘Cause you guys… my panties are already soaked~” You whimper, spreading your legs in front of the camera and in front of Seungcheol.
xcaliburDK: whoa wait is it just me or is dom.cheol missing?
artist8hao: and ur backdrop looks diff???
therealchan99 has donated $100
therealchan99: iTS MY TURN TO SHINE
chwenon: where r u?
“Oh! I’m--on a small ‘lil vacation kinda thing! Just wanted a bit of a scenery change, y’know?” You tuck a stand of hair behind your ear, trailing the same hand down your body as you bite your lip.
“Wish daddy were here though… I really wanna feel daddy’s tongue all over my pussy… ‘n I wanna feel his fingers fucking me and getting me ready to take his fat cock…” Your eyes momentarily flit past your laptop camera and stare directly into Seungcheol’s eyes, twinkling with excitement when you meet his already fucked out expression.
Seungcheol feels his cock throbbing; his grip tightening when you pressed the soaked material against your skin. “God I can’t stop thinkin’ about it… I bet daddy likes watching me get off thinkin’ about him though, huh?” You laugh airily, sliding your wet panties down your legs before twirling them around a finger.
You toss the material past the camera and straight into Seungcheol’s lap; his jaw clenching as he loosens his grip to pick up the soaked panties.
kitty_junjun: too bad ur dom daddy isnt around but hey you have the 12 of us princess
sleepy_wonu: yea, why dont u take one of us for a spin heh
artist8hao has donated $75
“Oh~ 12 daddies? I’m so spoiled!” You pause to take off your bra, tossing it to the side instead. “Just thinkin’ about it makes me wanna cum~”
alphagyu97: oh man, bukkake party PLEASE
tangerine_kwan: hhrkdfhskj fuck
artist8hao: wait thatd be hot
Seungcheol gulps, wrapping your soaked panties around his hand before he wraps his hand around his cock again; head thrown back as he slowly starts thrusting up into his closed fist.
“Hmm~ Maybe daddy likes a dirty girl, huh? Seeing me covered in so much cum~” You run your fingers through your wet folds, pinching your clit between your fingertips. “Ngh, fuck, bet daddy would love seeing his, a-ah, cum pouring out of my cute ‘lil pussy…” You mumble; legs spreading wider to give your viewers a better view.
You coat your fingers in your wetness, already sinking two fingers into your soaking pussy once they’re completely covered. “Oh, g-god, daddy!”
angelhan: u werent kidding when u said u were already soaked, holy shit
xcaliburDK: i can hear how wet u r from here
universe_WZ has donated $50
chwenon has donated $69
chwenon: heh, bet u want daddys tongue on that clit of urs right about now huh
“God, you don’t even know… Daddy could make me cum just from licking my clit ‘cause ‘m so sensitive…” You scissor your fingers, eyes rolling to the back of your head when you slowly start to add a third finger. “But I also want his fingers and his cock nice and deep…”
j__min: ;) id give it to u nice and deep
j__min has donated $200
You gulp slightly, almost glad Seungcheol was with you instead of in the chat. He would never admit to it even on the phone, but you knew the new addition to your regulars seemed to bother him, even at least a little bit. Not that you could blame him; it bothered you a little too. You’d gone so long without any new regulars that even you were slightly confused when you had checked the profile and found out that whoever ‘j__min’ was, was quite the popular cammer as well.
Seungcheol bites his lip to keep his noises in, jaw clenched as he watches you fuck yourself with three fingers deep in your cunt. He almost wanted to just knock the laptop over and get you off himself but he holds steady; reminding himself that fucking on the first date was out of the question.
“A-ah, ‘m really close~” Whining, you trail your free hand up your torso as you start to play with your breasts, pinching and twisting your nipples. Seungcheol starts meeting your pace, running his hand up and down his shaft as he coats your panties in his precum.
“Daddy, please, please let me cum!” You mewl.
Your eyes dance over to Seungcheol who nods firmly and you can’t help but lick your lips as you watch him get off with your panties.
Your legs threaten to snap shut when you thumb at your clit, rubbing quick circles on the swollen nub.
“O--ooh--fuh-fuck! I’m go--gonna c-cum!” You grit out; body tensing up as your orgasm washes over you and Seungcheol fares no better as he cums too, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood as he cums all over your panties.
The sound of rapid donations flood the speakers but in the moment, only you and Seungcheol exist as you both ride out your orgasms together. Your toes curl against the sheets as your legs shake, shaky breaths and moans on your lips as you mentally remind yourself to not call out Seungcheol’s name despite how badly you really want to. Seungcheol’s entire body buzzes with electricity as he cums hard; his head fuzzy when his foggy eyes watch you ride out your high.
He slows down his own pace; letting the remnants of his orgasm ebb off, but for you, it’s nowhere near over as you slowly ease your fingers from inside of you, wincing at the sudden emptiness.
“Fuck, I, hah, I really… really wanna cum again a-already…” You mumble. “Do you think daddy will spoil me and give me permission to cum again?”
therealchan99: whatever the princess needs
hoshi_tiger_xx: whatever the princess wants more like
universe_WZ has donated $100
angelhan has donated $75
j__min has donated $100
Seungcheol nods again, this time shaky as he catches his breath. He watches as you reach behind yourself, grabbing one of the plush pillows before you set it in front of you.
You momentarily catch your breath before you swing a leg over it, immediately bunching up the material as you start grinding down on it.
“Ngh, god, wish---wish it was daddy’s thigh instead… buh--but this time… I want daddy to punish me~” You mewl, head thrown back at the pleasure that washes over you in an instant. “I’ve been a bad girl today… I have to make it up to daddy before I get his cock~”
sleepy_wonu: and how would u do that, huh?
gentleman_josh95: think u deserve it?
xcaliburDK: baby doesnt deserve to cum if she’s been bad~
“Noooo~ you have to let me c-cum! I can cum on daddy’s thigh… I’ll cockwarm too~ Just let me cum!” You cry, already feeling your second orgasm closing in fast. “The cold pillow feels nice against my hot body… ‘n I’m so wet still… I’m soaking through the pillow.” You giggle, grinding down hard.
j__min: i can buy u some nice expensive bed sheets for your setup if u want
j__min: just say the word ;)
“Hehe, that’s so kind of you but I already have some at home~” You wink at Seungcheol who looks at you with a confused stare.
You go quiet for a few minutes, getting lost in the pleasure as you grind against the taut pillow. Your moans bounce off the hotel walls; breathy and drawn out.
artist8hao: god ur so pretty i want to paint u so bad
alphagyu97: *IN CUM
gentleman_josh95: we need a pov show once i swear,,, wanna imagine its me
tangerine_kwan: god yes yes please just make it paid content if u dont wanna do it live
“Hmm~ a POV show? You wanna see my cute pussy filled up with real cock that bad?” You start grinding down harder, feeling the tension in your body already ready to snap when the fabric rubs against your sensitive clit. “I’ve b-been thinking about it more ‘n more and---and I want it too~ Mmh, just thinking about it m-makes me--wanna--wanna c-cum!” You whisper harshly; thighs shaking as you cum hard.
The donations pour in as your orgasm crests; eyes clamped shut as the ringing in your head takes over.
Seugncheol licks his lips, watching with adoration when you start whimpering; already knowing how tired you’d be once the cameras were off.
You give it a second as you start coming down from your high, body twitching as you catch your breath. “F-fuck, I--I’m so tired~” You whine cutely, leaning forward as you take a moment to read comments again.
therealchan99: ur so fuckin pretty when u cum
kitty_junjun has donated $50
kitty_junjun: such a cute messy girl, bet those sheets r soaking wet
“Ugh, they really are~ I’m so sorry but I couldn’t help it~” You pout. Seungcheol grins from his seat; a weird sense of pride swelling in his body. You read a few more comments and thank your viewers for their donations; eyes catching one last comment before you say your goodbyes.
j__min: aww too bad ur dom daddy wasn't around huh? should I replace him? lolol 😏
“Okay guys~ I gotta go and get cleaned up! Maybe I can get rid of the evidence before housekeeping finds it!” You joke, blowing the camera a kiss and a wink before saying goodbye and turning off the stream.
“You’re incredible.” Seungcheol exhales, tossing the soaked panties back onto the bed just as you slump to the side.
“Mmm... thanks...”
Seungcheol pouts watching your sleepy eyes threaten to close, getting up from his chair as he gets himself cleaned off quickly before he tends to you. “What do you usually do after your show ends?” He asks, voice echoing from the attached bathroom.
“Usually lay here for a bit until I go get cleaned off and then change my bedsheets and then eat a ‘lil before going to bed if I’m hungry.” You chuckle, maneuvering until you’re staring at the ceiling. “Depending on how tired I am though, I’ll sometimes just sleep in my mess and clean up in the morning.”
“Can you sit up for me?” You nod, seeing Seungcheol coming into view with a bottle of water.
You can only blush as he smoothes down you mussed hair, urging you to finish the bottle of water before he takes the soiled pillow off of the bed. “Well, the bed seems relatively clean so I don’t think we need to do much evidence hiding other than dealing with this pillow.” He jokes, already tugging the wet fabric off.
“Are you hungry? Do you want me to call in some room service or something? I can go out and get something too. Or have it delivered? I started running the bath while I was getting cleaned up in there so it should be ready soon.”
Your heart blooms at Seungcheol’s kindness; warmth filling your body when he helps you up from the bed and to the bathroom. He checks the water’s temperature before he helps you into the tub, immediately sitting on the edge as he watches you relax into the warm water.
“God, you must be exhausted. I can’t imagine what it’s like to just... be alone after all that and have to do the cleanup. I’d probably just pass out in my own filth.” Seungcheol shakes his head in a joking manner; a doting smile on his face when you seem to enjoy his pampering.
“Mmhmm... but this is nice... I could get used to this.”

Why Nesta Stans Stan Nesta: For The People Who Don’t Get It.
I think one of the biggest misunderstandings towards Nesta fans is that we don’t acknowledge or understand that she emotionally, mentally, and verbally abused Feyre. We know. We very much know. And if you come across a fan who doesn’t, then please educate them! I’m not afraid to say that this past week I was educated on this as well.
I think a lot of anti-nesta’s focus on Nesta in ACOTAR, whereas Nesta stans see the progression of her character throughout all three books. Nesta stans see her potential to grow, learn, and change. This in no way makes her past actions excusable. Nothing can do that. But clinging to the idea that someone isn’t able to evolve will cause more harm than good, especially in cases like Nesta’s where they have shown they have the ability to evolve (examples coming later in the post).
Not all abusers can learn from their mistakes; some are just too far gone and don’t see their actions as wrong. But some can, and I believe Nesta is one of those who can. My reason for this belief comes from reading ACOWAR.
1.) Nesta holds herself back from saying something insulting to Mor after she says something in a rude tone to her, and instead approaches Feyre. This shows that a) She’s learning to hold her tongue instead of saying something stupid, and b) She says something nice to Feyre, which she wouldn’t have done two books ago. I’m not saying her being nice to Feyre makes up for how she acted towards her before, but the point is to show that Nesta is now uplifting Feyre instead of tearing her down.
“Where is he?”
“Who?” Rhys crooned.
“Cassian.”
I didn’t think I’d ever heard his name from her lips. Cassian had always been him or that one. And Nesta had been … pacing in the foyer.
As if she was worried.
I opened my mouth, but Mor beat me to it. “He’s busy.”
I’d never heard her voice so … sharp. Icy.
Nesta held Mor’s stare. Her jaw tightened, then relaxed, then tightened—as if fighting some battle to keep questions in. Mor didn’t drop her gaze.
. . . . .
“Mor was watching both carefully—the warning she’d given my sister ringing silently between them. And Nesta, Mother damn it all, seemed to remember. Seemed to rein in whatever words she’d been about to spit and just approached me.
And nearly made my heart stop dead with shock as she said, “You look beautiful.”
2.) Nesta didn’t know Feyre couldn’t read, so if I see one more post using “Nesta didn’t teach Feyre how to read,” as another example of how Nesta abused her, I’ll scream. There are a lot of other examples to show her abuse, but not this one. Nesta clearly wanted to teach Feyre how to read if she knew she couldn’t.
“I didn’t know you couldn’t really read,” Nesta said as she paused before a nondescript section, noticing the way I silently sounded out the words of a title. “I didn’t know where you were in your lessons—when it all happened. I assumed you could read as easily as us.”
“Well, I couldn’t.”
“Why didn’t you ask us to teach you?”
I trailed a finger over the neat row of spines. “Because I doubted you would agree to help.”
Nesta stiffened like I’d hit her, coldness blooming in those eyes. She tugged a book from a shelf. “Amren said Rhysand taught you to read.”
My cheeks heated. “He did.” And there, deep beneath the world, with only darkness for company, I asked, “Why do you push everyone away but Elain?” Why have you always pushed me away?
Some emotion guttered in her eyes. Her throat bobbed. Nesta shut her eyes for a moment, breathing in sharply. “Because—”
2b) The reason why I highlighted the last part is because I think Nesta is showing shame here. I think she is ashamed of what she did, and she can’t be ashamed of her actions unless she knows her actions were wrong. Like I said up top, an abuser who can’t change is one who doesn’t see their actions as wrong; Nesta sees her actions as wrong.
3.) When they’re running from the Ravens the King of Hybern sent to kidnap Nesta, we see a moment of trust between the sisters that I don’t think we’ve ever seen anywhere else in the entire series. I love this because it highlights their growing trust in one another.
“I gripped Nesta’s fingers in my free hand. She glanced at me.
I need you to trust me, I tried to convey to her.
Nesta read the emotion in my eyes—and gave the barest dip of her chin.”
4.) In that cabin, Nesta basically left Feyre to fend for herself. In this excerpt of them escaping the Ravens, you see Nesta not wanting to leave Feyre.
“Run toward the light,” I breathed to Nesta. “I’ll hold them off.”
“No.”
. . . . .
We didn’t have time—for whatever was down here to find us. We didn’t have time—
“Run,” I breathed. “Please.”
She hesitated.
“Please,” I begged her, my voice breaking.”
5.) So many people try to shit on Nesta for trying to cross the wall but not actually crossing it because she couldn’t find a hole, which I think is so stupid cause it’s not her fault if she couldn’t find one. You can tell from this quote that even the simple act of trying meant the world to Feyre, so I hate it when people try to diminish what she did.
“Rhys stared her down. But Nesta looked to me—and I could have sworn fear shone there, and guilt and … some other feeling. “You told me to run.”
“You’re my sister,” was all I said. She’d once tried to cross the wall to save me.”
5b) An extra scene from ACOTAR to show ya’ll just how much this meant to Feyre:
“My hands slackened at my sides. “You went after me,” I said. “You went after me—to Prythian.”
“I got to the wall. I couldn’t find a way through.”
I raised a shaking hand to my throat. “You trekked two days there and two days back—through the winter woods?”
She shrugged, looking at the sliver she’d pried from the table. “I hired that mercenary from town to bring me a week after you were taken. With the money from your pelt. She was the only one who seemed like she would believe me.”
“You did that—for me?”
Nesta’s eyes—my eyes, our mother’s eyes—met mine. “It wasn’t right,” she said again. Tamlin had been wrong when we’d discussed whether my father would have ever come after me—he didn’t possess the courage, the anger. If anything, he would have hired someone to do it for him. But Nesta had gone with that mercenary. My hateful, cold sister had been willing to brave Prythian to rescue me.
“What happened to Tomas Mandray?” I asked, the words strangled.
“I realized he wouldn’t have gone with me to save you from Prythian.”
And for her, with that raging, unrelenting heart, it would have been a line in the sand.
I looked at my sister, really looked at her, at this woman who couldn’t stomach the sycophants who now surrounded her, who had never spent a day in the forest but had gone into wolf territory … Who had shrouded the loss of our mother, then our downfall, in icy rage and bitterness, because the anger had been a lifeline, the cruelty a release. But she had cared—beneath it, she had cared, and perhaps loved more fiercely than I could comprehend, more deeply and loyally. “Tomas never deserved you anyway,” I said softly.
My sister didn’t smile, but a light shone in her blue-gray eyes. “Tell me everything that happened,” she said—an order, not a request.
So I did.
And when I finished my story, Nesta merely stared at me for a long while before asking me to teach her how to paint.”
5c) Remember how in the beginning of ACOTAR Nesta insulted Feyre’s paintings? A couple hundred pages later she just asked Feyre to teach her. Nesta was already progressing (albeit at a snails pace I know) in ACOTAR, before anything had really happened.
6.) Back to ACOWAR, in this excerpt Nesta is asking Feyre why she didn’t hesitate going into the Battle of Adriata. I think the reason Nesta asks this question is because in the cabin, Nesta thought Feyre was trying to help their family in order to gain power over them, rather than an act of selflessness. It forces Nesta to think about her actions in the past, and, in the hopes of doing better, she decides to go to the High Lords meeting with them to fight alongside them. Feyre’s selflessness inspired Nesta to do better, and Nesta took the opportunity to do so. This is growth.
“Nesta only spoke when I rose to my feet. “You’re going to that meeting in two days.”
“Yes.”
I braced myself for whatever she intended to say.
Nesta glanced toward the front windows, as if still waiting, still watching.
“You went off into battle. Without a second thought. Why?”
“Because I had to. Because people needed help.”
Her blue-gray eyes were near-silver in the trickle of morning light. But Nesta said nothing else, and after waiting for another moment, I left, winnowing up to the House for my flying lesson with Azriel.”
. . . . .
“I felt Cassian’s attention slide to us, felt them all look as Nesta said, “I’m going with you.”
No one said anything.
Nesta only lifted her chin. “I …” I’d never seen her stumble for words. “I do not want to be remembered as a coward.”
“No one would say that,” I offered quietly.
“I would.” Nesta surveyed us all, her gaze jumping past Cassian. Not to slight him, but … avoid answering the look he was giving her. Approval—more. “It was some distant thing,” she said. “War. Battle. It … it’s not anymore. I will help, if I can. If it means … telling them what happened.”
“You’ve given enough,” I said, my dress rustling as I braved a solitary step toward her. “Amren claimed you were close to mastering whatever skill you need. You should stay—focus on that.”
“No.” The word was steady, clear. “A day or two delay with my training won’t make any difference. Perhaps by the time we return, Amren will have decoded that spell in the Book.” She shrugged with a shoulder. “You went off to battle for a court you barely know—who barely see you as friends. Amren showed me the blood ruby. And when I asked you why … you said because it was the right thing. People needed help.” Her throat bobbed. “No one is going to fight to save the humans beneath the wall. No one cares. But I do.” She toyed with a fold in her dress. “I do.”
7.) In front of the entire IC and all the High Lords, Nesta makes it clear that she wouldn’t have survived those years in the cabin without her sister. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first time she’s ever even acknowledged or spoken about it.
“She looked to Kallias and Viviane. “I am sorry for the loss of those children. The loss of one is abhorrent.” She shook her head. “But beneath the wall, I witnessed children—entire families—starve to death.” She jerked her chin at me. “Were it not for my sister … I would be among them.”
My eyes burned, but I blinked it away.”
8.) When Nesta senses something wrong at the High Lords meeting, she comes so close to saying she cares for Feyre, and cares for her safety. Cause really, the only person there who she would admit to caring about would be her sister (I know Cassian is there but she wouldn’t have admitted that lets be honest lmao). Also, in the first book Nesta was very selfish and only cared (outwardly) about herself and Elain. We see her being selfless here.
“Something is wrong,” Nesta insisted.
“I’m not doubting you feel that way but … If none of the others are picking it up—”
“I am not like the others.” Her throat bobbed. “We need to leave.”
“I can send you back to Velaris, but we have things to discuss here—”
“I don’t care about me, I—”
9.) Book one Nesta wouldn’t pick up a pinky to help anyone or anything, but in ACOWAR she basically becomes a medic. She gets her hand dirty.
“No, Nesta only made sure that Elain was dozing in her tent, and then offered to help cut up linen for bandages.”
. . . . .
“How do I fix it?” she asked. Her hair had been tied in a loose knot atop her head earlier in the day, and in the hours that we’d worked to ready and distribute supplies to the healers, through the heat and humidity, stray tendrils had come free to curl about her temple, her nape. Faint color had stained her cheeks from the sun, and her forearms, bare beneath the sleeves she’d rolled up, were flecked with mud.
. . . . .
“I helped with the wounded long into the night, Mor and Nesta working alongside me.“
10.) When Nesta was pacing outside of the tent waiting to hear about Cassian’s condition, Mor attacks her again for literally caring about his well being. And Nesta, again, bites her tongue, says nothing, and walks away. I’m currently working on another post that goes in depth about the relationship between Nesta and Mor, but the point of this excerpt is to highlight how Nesta’s immediate response is to no longer bite back when someone comes after her. That being cold and bitchy all the time isn’t worth it (although I do think Nesta would be in the right here to say something back if she wanted to).
“I squinted at the watery light—the very last before true dark. When my vision adjusted … Nesta stood by the nearest tent, an empty water bucket between her feet. Her hair a damp mess atop her mud-flecked head. Watching us emerge, grim-faced—
“He’s fine. Healed and awake,” I said quickly.
Nesta’s shoulders sagged a bit.
She’d saved me the trouble of hunting her down to ask her about tracking the Cauldron. Better to do it now, with some privacy. Especially before Amren arrived.
But Mor said coldly, “Shouldn’t you be refilling that bucket?”
Nesta went stiff. Sized up Mor. But Mor didn’t flinch from that look.
After a moment, Nesta picked up her bucket, mud caked up to her shins, and continued on, steps squelching.”
11.) When the sisters slept beside each other after Elain was saved, Feyre points out how different they sleep now. Instead of fighting with one another over the space, they held onto each other. This symbolizes their growing togetherness and how before, they were against each other, and now, they’re a team.
“A moment later, another warm body nestled on my left. Nesta’s scent drifted over me, fire and steel and unbending will.
Distantly, I heard Rhys usher everyone out—to join him in checking on Azriel, now under Thesan’s care.
I didn’t know how long my sisters and I lay there together, just like we had once shared that carved bed in that dilapidated cottage. Then—back then, we had kicked and twisted and fought for any bit of space, any breathing room.
But that morning, as the sun rose over the world, we held tight. And did not let go.”
12.) Nesta tells them to use her as bait to get the King of Hybern away from the cauldron. Literally a suicide mission. Probably the most selfless act she’s done this entire series.
Nesta stared toward that armada, toward our father fighting in it. “Use me. As bait.”
I blinked at the same moment Cassian said, “No.”
Nesta ignored him. “The king is probably waiting beside that Cauldron. Even if you get there, you’ll have him to contend with. Draw him out. Draw him far away. To me.”
13.) Nesta doesn’t stop fighting the King of Hybern after already spending all her power trying to do so. She starts to lure him away from Cassiand and the cauldron in order to buy Feyre more time.
“Nesta rushed to him, kneeling.
Not to comfort.
But to pick up his Illyrian blade.
Cassian tried to stop her as she stood. As Nesta lifted that sword before the King of Hybern.
She said nothing. Only held her ground.
The king chuckled and angled his own blade. “Shall I see what the Illyrians taught you?”
He was upon her before she could lift the sword higher.
Nesta jumped back, clipping his sword with her own, eyes flaring wide. The king lunged again, and Nesta again dodged and retreated through the trees.
Leading him away—away from Cassian.
She managed to draw him another few feet before the king grew bored.
In two movements, he had her disarmed. In another, he struck her across the face, so hard she went down.
Cassian cried out her name, trying again to crawl to her.
The king only sheathed his sword, towering over her as she pushed off the ground. “Well? What else do you have?”
Nesta turned over, and threw out a hand.
White, burning power shot out of her palm and slammed into his chest.
A ploy. To get him close. To lower his guard.
Her power sent him flying back, trees snapping under him. One after another after another.
The Cauldron seemed to settle. All that was left—that was it. All that was left of her power.”
14.) Do I even have to say it?
“Nesta surged to her feet, staggering across the clearing, blood at her mouth from where he’d hit her, and threw herself to her knees before Cassian. “Get up,” she sobbed, hauling at his shoulder. “Get up.”
He tried—and failed.
“You’re too heavy,” she pleaded, but still tried to raise him, fingers scrabbling in his black, bloodied armor. “I can’t—he’s coming—”
“Go,” Cassian groaned.
Her power had stopped hurling the king across the forest. He now stalked toward them, brushing off splinters and leaves from his jacket—taking his time. Knowing she would not leave. Savoring the awaiting slaughter.
Nesta gritted her teeth, trying to haul Cassian up once more. A broken sound of pain ripped from him. “Go! ” he barked at her.
“I can’t,” she breathed, voice breaking. “I can’t.”
The same words Rhys had given him.
Cassian grunted in pain, but lifted his bloodied hands—to cup her face. “I have no regrets in my life, but this.” His voice shook with every word. “That we did not have time. That I did not have time with you, Nesta.”
She didn’t stop him as he leaned up and kissed her—lightly. As much as he could manage.
Cassian said softly, brushing away the tear that streaked down her face, “I will find you again in the next world—the next life. And we will have that time. I promise.”
The King of Hybern stepped into that clearing, dark power wafting from his fingertips.
And even the Cauldron seemed to pause in surprise—surprise or some … feeling as Nesta looked at the king with death twining around his hands, then down at Cassian.
And covered Cassian’s body with her own.
Cassian went still—then his hand slid over her back.
Together. They’d go together.
I will offer you a bargain, I said to the Cauldron. I will offer you my soul. Save them.
“Romantic,” the king said, “but ill-advised.”
Nesta did not move from where she shielded Cassian’s body.”
15.) Nesta killed the King of Hybern. Killed their biggest foe, the person who was going to rip apart their entire world. I know Elain stabbed him, but as she herself put it:
“Elain fell into step beside me, peering at Lucien. He noticed it. “I heard you made the killing blow,” he said.
Elain studied the trees ahead. “Nesta did. I just stabbed him.”
16.) And finally, Nesta walks in side by side with Feyre into the treaty meeting. This also symbolizes the bond they’ve been forming with each other, that goes beyond just sisterhood.
“I offered my hand to my sister. “I want you here for this. With me.”
Nesta considered that outstretched hand. For a moment, I thought she’d walk away.
But she slid her hand into mine, and together we walked into that room crammed with humans and Fae. Both parts of this world. All parts of this world.”
All these examples show a different Nesta than the Nesta in book one. She has become selfless, more aware of her own actions, and grown up.
To close this out, it was so painful reading ACOFAS because of the regression of Nesta and Feyre’s relationship when they were going down such a good path. I think the reason why SJM made Nesta go down an even darker hole than Feyre (not trauma wise, I’m not comparing the two, but recovery wise) is because she wanted to show another example of how trauma can have an effect on people.
All of the IC are still healing, but they’re all healing relatively the same way, ie. surrounding themselves with each other and going about business as usual. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, if it works for them then thats amazing.
But it’s disappointing when I read people vilify Nesta for not healing the same way, and not wanting to interact with the IC, or for distancing herself from her sisters. Like, it’s obvious she’s hurting, and I don’t even think she knows how to heal herself or knows what to do. People who are severely depressed don’t know how to get out of it, so calling her a bitch for not wanting their help is so tone deaf and narrow minded. No one is a terrible person for pushing people away. The girl has just literally become a shell of herself.
When people say Nesta stans are “glorifying abuse” because they like Nesta, it’s sad because they really just relate to Nesta’s depression. They relate to her feeling devoid of feeling, and relate to how she pushes those closest to her away because she doesn’t know how to deal with her pain. Most importantly, they saw all of the examples I listed when reading, and saw Nesta growing and evolving, and they want to see her become a better person. They want to see her fight and confront her own demons.
It’s not about discarding her abusive behavior. It’s about confronting it and hoping she learns and grows from it.

Can’t Get Enough Part 5
Billie has lost her virginity! Where is this relationship headed?
This has just been chilling in drafts... I forgot I was a person there for a moment. I apologize.
Summary: The two most stubborn people in Knockemstiff, Ohio have eyes for only each other. Lee Bodecker is determined to become the town’s next sheriff. He knows that image is everything. Billie Dechswaan doesn’t care about her image at all. All she wants is to leave Knockemstiff and never come back. But Lee has other plans for her. Both are far too stubborn to give up their own plans. What happens when they can’t get enough of each other?
Word Count: 2.3k
After losing her virginity, Billie can’t get enough of Lee. When he’s inside her, she promises him all the things he wants. But they fight about her wanting leave. She’s still adamant about moving away, despite her attack. Lee tries desperately to reason with her. But she won’t hear it. Lee feels his time running out as the days in June and July come and go. He makes the decision for them one day. He pokes holes in every single condom. He feels slightly guilty, but Bille needs to realizes how much she needs him.
All the arguing comes to a head one night in mid-August. Billie snuck out like she did most nights and met up with Lee. She quickly slide into the car and kissed him. It was a Wednesday night and they hadn’t seen each other since the church service on Sunday. Billie had spent most of the time between services chatting with Lee, instead of helping to serve luncheon, and this behavior was not missed by the church ladies.
Rumors were flying. Everyone was wondering when Lee would finally make Billie his wife. Many were saying that it was bound to happen before the next election. She’d be sherif’s wife by Christmas, the gossip said. Edna, the police station secretary made the mistake of asking Lee and relaying all the gossip. It got him thinking. He was going to broach the idea with Billie. He had to. He already had a ring anyway.
Before Lee could even start the car and drive away. Billie was kissing his neck.
“Did you miss me, baby?” He teased. Pulling her closer to him.
“I always miss you,” she scoffed, straddling his hips.
“I missed you too,” he murmured against her lips. She ran her tongue against his.
“You know,” he began, pulling back from the kiss, “You don’t have to miss me.”
“What do you mean?” Billie giggled, staring at him, “I always miss you when you’re not around.”
“I mean, you could miss me less,” Lee said. Billie’s smile dropped a bit.
“What are talking about, honey?” She asked.
“If we live together, we would see each other everyday. Wake up together, go to bed together,” he hummed, kissing her neck between each phrase.
“Lee,” she scolded, pulling away from him.
“Come on baby,” he huffed, “Be mine. Be mine forever. And don’t give me that whole song and dance about leaving. You want to be with me and I want to be with you. I could give you everything. Just let me.”
“We’ve talked about this, I want to be independent for a while,” Billie grumbled.
“Billie, come on. We’ve been together practically everyday for months. Why do you have to independent? You want to get married and have kids right?” He asked.
“Of course, I do. But—“
“No. No buts. If you’re planning to have kids, you won’t be working that long anyway. So, pick the right man to have kids with. Pick me, baby,” Lee implored. Billie stared at him and slipped off his lap.
“I was up front with you Lee. I told you I was going to leave and go to college. You knew that going in. I should go,” she whispered. Climbing out of the car. Lee ground his teeth before he got out of the car.
“Billie,” he yelled, “get back here.” He stalked after her angrily.
“Lee,” she sighed, turning to face him, “I can’t do this tonight. I can’t have this argument again.”
He gripped the tops of her arms, “What is it? Why won’t you marry me? Is there something I’m not doing? Are you embarrassed of me?”
“What?” She spat, “Of course not. You’re everything I want—“
“Then what is it? I love you, dammit,” he shouted.
“Look, let’s just take a pause. We can talk tomorrow. We’re both upset,” she placated.
“Fine,” he huffed, stalking back to his car and driving off before Billie had even reached the woods. Wheels spitting gravel, engine revving loudly as he drove away. Billie felt empty. What had she done?
The next day the county fair started. It was the event of the summer. Everyone was there. And Billie was avoiding Lee after their fight the day before. But he spots her. She evades him all night. He finally corners her outside one of the livestock barns.
“What is with you? You said we’d talk today and you’re fucking ignoring me,” He spat, shoving her against the barn and caging her in. Billie refuses to meet his gaze. Tears quickly well up and spill down her cheeks.
“Baby,” he hums gently, “What’s wrong.” His hands move up to cup her face and his thumbs wipe the tears away.
“Not here,” she shakes her head, “Let’s go for a drive.”
“Alright,” Lee murmured. They walk silently to the cruiser and Lee drove a couple of miles down the road before he pulls off onto a side road. It’s not really a road, more like a trail in the woods that farmers use in the spring and summer as a short cut.
Billie has tears running down her face.
“Talk to me,” he begged.
“I’m late,” she sobbed. It took Lee a few moments to catch on.
“Your period?”
“Yeah, I’m three weeks late. I thought it was just stress or something,” she cried, her voice breaking.
“It’s okay. It’s okay,” he soothed, “I’ll take care of ya.” Lee’s heart is beating out of his chest with excitement, but he schools his features and voice to one of concern and anxiousness in order not to tip Billie off.
“What are we gonna do?” She’s fully panicked now. Lee can hear that she’s nearly hyperventilating.
“Shh, baby. You need to breathe, okay?” He said as he grabbed her face and forced her to look at him. She nodded slowly, breathing in and out steadily before Lee spoke again.
“We have to tell your parents,” he began. Billie’s eyes grew comically large, she started to protest but Lee cut her off.
“We’ll tell your parents. We’ll get married and no one will be the wiser. It’s okay,” he soothed, “I’ll be with you when you tell your parents. I promise I’ll take care of you.” His eyes shone with sincerity.
“What… what if I’m not ready?”
“You are. You’re perfect. Gonna take such good care of me and our baby,” Lee hummed as he kissed her.
“Lee,” she protested.
“Come on, sugar. You’ll be my good little housewife. I can’t wait to see you get round with my baby. You’re gonna look so sexy,” Lee groaned, he kissed from her lips to her neck as he spoke, “You’re all mine.”
“Did you— did you plan this?” Billie asked, shoving him away. Lee narrowed his eyes at her.
“It doesn’t matter how it happened. What’s done is done and you need me Billie,” he growled. Billie opened her mouth but no words came out. She was stunned. She shook her head back and forth, as she searched for the words.
“You’re a bastard, Lee.” His jaw clicked from side to side when she said that. Without saying anything he started the car and drove. Billie didn’t question him on where they’re going. She knew she was in deep shit. It’s only when she sees the farmhouse come into view that she starts to panic.
“No.”
“We’re telling your parents tonight.”
“Lee, please don’t do this,” she begged. But he didn’t listen.
“I wanted to be nice. I wanted to wait until after we got married. But you. You just couldn’t accept the nice future I had planned out for ya. So, if you want me to be the bastard, I will be. I’ll get you pregnant. Make you marry me.” He cut the engine and walked up to the house. Billie trudged behind him, she had no other choice.
Lee knocked at the before Billie even reached him. Joy answered.
“Deputy Bodecker,” she smiled, “To what do we owe the pleasure?”
“Billie and I have something to tell you,” he said happily. What a master of disguise he was. He made Billie believe, really believe that he loved her and cared for her. But he showed his true colors the second she stopped listening to him. And now he’s wooing her mother. Making her believe he’s a nice, stand-up guy. Joy’s smile faltered when she realized the Billie was with Lee, but she let them both in all the same. Lee marched to the living room as if he owned the place.
“John,” Joy called, “Lee and Billie want to talk to us.” John huffed, but turned the tv off. He gestured for Lee to sit.
“Clara, why don’t you go upstairs,” Joy suggested. Clara was the only one of the children home. All the others were still at the fair. She nodded and walked away. Joy sat down, but Billie didn’t.
“Honey,” Lee chuckled, “Come sit down.” She slowly went and sat by Lee. He was quick to wrap an arm around her.
“She’s nervous,” he said, smile glued to his handsome face.
“What’s going on?” John growled at Lee.
“Billie is pregnant,” Lee responded. Joy gasped. John looked like a deer caught in headlights. Billie started crying again, and leaned forward to hide her face in her hands. Lee patted her back.
“But, I don’t want ya’ll to worry,” Lee continued, “I’ll do right by her. I care for your daughter very much. We’re going to get married.”
John harrumphed, “You can take her down to the courthouse tomorrow for all I care. I thought you knew better than to open your legs, girl. I know you’re mama taught you better than that.”
“John,” Joy attempted to placate, “Let’s not be unkind. Lee is going to make this right.”
“I don’t care if he can make it right. Your daughter is out there acting like a whore,” John roared standing up from his armchair. He crossed the room and slapped Billie across the face.
“You have one week to get her out of my house,” John said to Lee, who looked up John and scowled. Billie couldn’t take one more minute, she jumped up and ran upstairs just as Sylvia walked through the door. If Sylvia was one thing, it was perceptive. She took one look at her father and Lee and chased after her sister.
“Now get out of my house, Bodecker,” Lee narrowed his eyes, but obliged. He would make John pay for hitting Billie.
Sylvia found Billie crying in a little ball on the floor.
“What happened?” She asked her sister.
“Lee g-got me pregnant and n-now I have to get married and I’m going to be stuck here in this stupid town forever,” Billie sobbed.
“Shit,” Sylvia sighed. Clara crawled off of her bed to join her sisters on the floor, she squeezed Billie’s hand. She wasn’t one for talking, she wasn’t good at it.
“I thought he loved me. But he manipulated me. I think he did it on purpose,” Billie choked through tears.
Sylvia stood up and started pacing.
“How much money you got?” She asked.
“About $250,” Billie answered.
“I got about $50 left over from babysitting. And I want you to take that,” Sylvia ordered.
“I can’t take your money, Sylvie.”
“Yes you can. Take it. Run away. Start over.”
“I—I—I h—have t-t-ten dollars for you, Billie,” Clara spoke.
“Take our money and go,” Sylvia said, “Consider it a thank you for all the years you took care of us.”
“Are you sure?” Billie looked between her two sisters. Both nodded.
“You have to go tonight. Go to the bus station and get out now,” Sylvia started to scheme. The girls helped Billie pack two bags that night. They rounded up and pooled their money. And at eleven that night, Billie snuck out and walked the three miles to the bus station. She waited until five in the morning and bought the first bus out to Cincinnati. But she didn’t stop there. From there she took another bus to New York. She figured she could disappear into the crowd there. She could say that her husband died and that she had no family left. She could get a job waitressing. Or maybe she could train as a secretary. It didn’t matter because she felt free.
After two weeks in the city, she wrote her family and Lee a letter. She claimed that she wasn’t pregnant. That the stress from telling them and leaving town caused her to miscarry. She said that she couldn’t face any of them now. But that it didn’t diminish her love. She refused to come home. Billie did not include a return of address. She secretly sent Sylvia another letter at her boyfriends house. It included her phone number. Sylvia would call her once a month from a payphone and then from the phone at the local grocery store she worked at. The girls stayed in touch that way. Sylvia secretly relayed the information to Clara and when Joy got suspicious, to her too.
Lee was distraught. He’d lost the love of his life and his baby in a matter of moments. He shouldn’t have made her tell her parents like that. But he couldn’t focus on it too long, because he was soon elected sheriff. He was married to the job. Then he started getting into business with the wrong people. Those terrible men he worked with gave him an idea. An awful idea. He wanted revenge against John and he would get it.

I Can’t Handle You Being Back~Chou Tzuyu x black! fem! reader {3}
Parts: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Pairing: Tzuyu x reader
Summary: A few weeks have passed and you’re already set to make your debut with Twice during their comeback for Cry For Me and I Can’t Stop Me. Things with Tzuyu haven’t gotten better, and it’s about to get worse when the company forces you both to do a live together with the other foreign members. Can you and Tzuyu get through it?
Genre: Angst, Idol-Verse, Romance, Slow Burn, Hurt and Comfort, Best Friends to Lovers
Warnings: None, just a lot of tension and awkwardness between y/n and Tzuyu. ya know your usual angst
Word Count: 2, 750
Writer’s Note: Ok, so this chapter gets a bit juicy and there’s going to be a bit of jealously, along with a hint of romance, but that’s all I’m gonna say. Hope ya’ll enjoy it and please comment! I want to hear your thoughts and feedback. This took me like a month to write it, I’m not sure how I feel about it so :/ yeah.
Onces, Netizens and the overall Kpop community in general were lit a blaze with the reveal of Twice’s new member: me. Of course now being in a whirlwind of what is Twice’s schedule, I didn’t have time or the energy to read comments, dms or messages that I’ve gotten from them (thank God). Jihyo was also a factor in keeping me on my toes during long dance practice days, even though she wasn’t as hard on me as she was with the others. They weren’t too hard on me either, usually laughing at my mistakes and helping me if I missed my timing or not. The pressure was on: not only from the Korea public and Kpop community as a whole but because of Tzuyu as well. Her eyes would always be on me, then they roll as she waited for me to fix whatever I did. Even during my photoshoots for the album or promotional media, she’s got her eye on me. We haven’t even talked much since she blew up at me weeks prior. I’m not sure how to fix this really.
I decided now to ignore her, which is easier said than done, due to how close we are during performances. (She literally rests her head against my shoulder during Cry For Me, damn you JYPE!) Right now we’re back stage at Music Bank, awaiting for our rehearsals for our I Can’t Stop Me stage and she’s seated directly to my right, all that’s keeping her from me is my phone, along with Jeongyeon seated between us.
“Y/N, check out this meme,” Jeongyeon said as she practically shoved her phone in my face.
I chuckled lowly; Jeongyeon nudged me.
“That’s the only reaction I get?” she whined. “You always laugh at Chaeyoung’s.”
“Well that’s because she doesn’t use ancient memes,” I said. “The cereal guy is like five years old!”
“So, are you calling me old Y/N!” Jeongyeon said. “That’s disrespectful to your Unnie.”
She nudged my shoulder a few times with a sly grin and furrowed brows.
“No,” I groaned. “Your taste in memes are old.”
“Who’s old?” Nayeon said as she squished herself between me and Jeongyeon. “You better not be talking about me Jeong.”
“You said it not me,” Jeongyeon said with a snicker.
Nayeon didn’t waste any time in smacking her arm, making her laughter rise while I get up to avoid their playful conflict.
“How about you both make out already,” I teased.
The words make both idols separate with the quickness; their faces red as they sit up straighter.
“W-Whatever Y/N,” Nayeon said. “I should be telling you and Tzuyu doing that since all you both can do is eye each other.”
Now I’m the one recoiling, Jeongyeon did the same as Tzuyu’s attention is on Nayeon with a stare. Jeongyeon nudged Nayeon and pushed her back onto her feet.
“Everything was fine until you came along,” Jeongyeon whined. “Also, your make-up’s smudged a bit.”
Nayeon’s hands fled to her face, shock over took it in a matter of seconds.
“Look at your face!” Jeongyeon said as she erupted into another round of heated giggles. I smiled to entertain her, but stop immediately as Nayeon throws us a deadpanned look this time.
“You’re still a grandma,” Nayeon said as she walked away from the couch and towards Mina, Jihyo, and Momo, who held Boo in her arms.
“Ya! If I’m a grandma then what does that make you!” Jeongyeon yelled back. “Great grandma!”
I shook my head and returned back to my phone, my finger itching to open up Instagram yet I’m restrained by soft hands. Tzuyu’s next to me, close but not as close as Jeongyeon was. Her face in taunt, but not in the anger she aimed at Nayeon; this look is of warning.
“Don’t,” she said. “Didn’t Jihyo unnie say not to.”
“I-I just wanted to message someone back,” I said. “You hardly talk to me, why are you doing this now?”
Tzuyu rolled her eyes.
“I just don’t want you in a mood where you can’t focus,” Tzuyu said. “You mess up so easily.”
“Wow, thanks for reminding me,” I said. “I just have to check something with someone.”
Tzuyu pulled her hand away from my wrist, yet she doesn’t return to the other end of the couch.
“Who?” she said.
I side eye her for a moment while I open Instagram; my direct messages are 100 +, forcing my pulse to pound in my ears. The second I tap the arrow that brings up the messages, the swarm hits me:
How come out of all the Sixteen contestants, they bring back the worst one.
You won’t be a real Twice member. This has got to be a PR stunt from all the “cultural appropriation” allegations.
K-Pop isn’t for you, go back to America.
Who told you K-Pop was for you, you black bitch.
The negative messages began to build, and build, out-weighting the small clump of positives ones that came through. My hand tightened around my phone as anger and fear boiled up inside me: angry at myself for taking on this opportunity and fearful because of the hate. I expected this so, why am I feeling this way?
“Y/N?” Tzuyu said as she nudged her shoulder against my own. “Momo Unnie!”
Momo’s head whipped around to the couch, Boo sniffing every where from his position in her arms. Tzuyu’s voice also got the attention of Jihyo, Nayeon, and Jeongyeon as well. They flocked over to us immediately.
“Y/N, are you all right?” Jihyo asked as she knelt down in front of me.
I broke from the trance that the hate comments pinned me in and glanced up at the concerned faces of my bandmates, including Tzuyu this time. Her eyes cut to Momo, as Boo continued to wiggle in her arms.
“Unnie! Could she hold Boo, please?” Tzuyu whined.
Momo blinked at Tzuyu but did so anyway and placed the wiggly dog in my arms.
“Whoa, there,” I said as Boo sniffed down my brown blazer. “Hey there, Boo right? God you’re such a good boy aren’t you? Yeah?”
Boo sunk down in my lap licking my fingers as I pet him with my other hand. Nayeon was right, Boo really is a great stress reliever. Any dog is, gosh it’s been so long since I’ve petted or actually owned a dog.
“Are you ok now, Y/N?” Momo asked. “Boo really likes you, he could barely stop moving when Sana first held him.”
“Are you nervous about the performance?” Mina said as she walked to stand behind the couch with Sana, Chaeyoung, and Dahyun behind her.
“Yeah, being up there with you guys is extremely nerve wracking,” I said. “And I read a few of the comments online.”
“Y/N,” Jihyo groaned. “You shouldn’t have done that.”
“I know, know but the public’s perception means a lot, right?” I said. “The Knets are already giving me a headache.”
Mina frowned and placed her hands on my shoulders, then gently squeezed.
“You’ve been practicing so hard with us,” Sana said. “You’ll do amazing!”
I nodded, still taken a back by the comments but Boo’s yipping and the encouraging words from my band-mates eased my worries (even if it’s just for a little bit).
“All right girls!” a manager said as he stormed into the room along with my own manager, Miyoung who signals me towards her. “You’re going on in five!”
I rise, Boo whined as I did and Nayeon held her arms out to take him.
“Aww, Boo, Y/N will be back soon. OK?” she cooed.
I handed him to her before stepping over to a free corner of the room with Miyoung.
She gave me a tiny grin as she rubbed my arm, giving me a once over.
“You all right? It seemed like the girls were consoling you over there,” she said.
“I’m getting there,” I admitted. “I’ve been practicing choreography for weeks and I just saw--”
I paused at Miyoung’s face; it contorted in concern then exasperation.
“You read the comments, didn’t you?” she asked.
I glanced down and nodded.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t trying to let it get in the way of the comeback.”
“Hey, no Y/N,” Miyoung said. “You don’t deserve any of that. JYPE’s even taking the legal action against a lot of the comments, surprisingly.”
I blinked at her words.
“He’s actually keeping his word,” I said.
Miyoung nodded.
“And you’ve got a V Live to do after the performance once you return to the dorms,” she explained. “A welcoming type thing with the other foreign members.”
I hesitated at the word foreign, that means being close to Tzuyu. It also means being close to Tzuyu on camera.
“Is that all right?” Miyoung asked.
“Y-Yeah, I just don’t know how this would go.”
Miyoung brought me a bit closer as she wrapped her arm around my shoulder.
“Well you’ve got Twice in your corner,” she said. “And if anything or any one of them bother you, even another manager, come to me. Brittany insisted I keep an eye on you.”
I deadpan while my mind wondered back to how Brittany was ready to fight JYP in his own office if things grew awry.
“Y/N, c’mon!”
I turned toward the door to see everyone geared up and ready to perform, eyes steady waiting for me; Tzuyu even with a tiny grin on her face.
“Go on,” Miyoung said. “Have fun, don’t think too much of it.”
***
I messed up the shoulder move; I know I did and the playback remained in my mind throughout the drive back to the dorm and as we all settle into our rooms.
“Y/N it’s OK,” Jeongyeon groaned as she slumped against her bed. “You were off by a nanosecond. The only person who noticed was you.”
“Exactly! The Netizens will tear me apart even more when they notice and--”
“And that’s not important right now,” Mina said as she entered Jeongyeon, Momo and I’s room with Sana on her arm.
“V Live time!” Sana sung.
“Good,” Jeongyeon said. “Keep Ms. Worry away for a while. Mina let me play your switch while you guys are live.”
Mina shrugged.
“Sure, but you’re going to have to get it from Chaeyoung,” she explained. “She’s playing it in my room.”
“Ugh, you and your girlfriend,” Jeongyeon said as she rose from the bed.
I perked up at the term.
“Girlfriend? You guys are dating?”
Mina nodded.
“Of course we can’t be official,” she said.
“I know,” I said. “Things aren’t as liberal here as they are in America. I-I can’t believe those ship videos were right.”
Mina blushed a bit.
“That’s the only fan discourse Chae and I keep up with mostly.”
“You kept up with ships Y/N?” Sana asked.
“N-No! I was just curious that’s all! Anyway, let’s go get this live over with.”
Sana giggled as she led Mina and I to her room where Momo and Tzuyu sat in pajamas, holding stuffed animals tightly.
“Y/N! Don’t worry about the performance, you did amazing!” Momo reassured.
“Let’s hope the Netizens agree with you,” I groaned and plopped down beside Momo and Tzuyu on the floor.
“I thought you were supposed to stop worrying about the Netizens,” Tzuyu said. “It almost got in the way today.”
I turn toward Tzuyu and crossed my arms.
“So you noticed my screw up too?” I said.
Tzuyu rolled her eyes.
“Almost is the key word,” she groaned before she reached up from the bed next to us and grabbed a few stuffed animals. “Now which stuffed animal do you want?”
I blinked at the choices Tzuyu presented: a purple flamingo with oval shaped eyes or a pink alpaca with a square shaped eyes and a rather odd expression.
“I’ll take the flamingo,” I said.
Tzuyu handed it off as Sana gasped.
“He suits you Y/N,” she said. “Two cuties and wow, I didn’t know you hung out with Sooyoung Y/N!”
“Who?” Tzuyu asked.
“Joy!” Sana squealed
“Sana what are you talking about?” I asked as she leapt on the bed and showed the phone to us.
We both peered down at the picture in front of us; I remember this one (sort of) from a few years back when I co-wrote a few tracks for Red Velvet and hung out a bit with Sooyoung, we were at a beach some where in LA. I’m sure her fans didn’t pay it much mind but since I’m an idol now along with her, I’m not sure how anymore.
“Look, lot’s of fans speculate you’re both dating now!” Sana said. “So, is it true?”
I’m the one rolling my eyes this time, Sana tossed a flirty grin my way and wiggled her eyebrows.
“No Sana, why are you being so ridiculous right now.”
“Come on Y/N,” Momo said as she nudged me against the shoulder. “Sooyoung is pretty hot. You sure you didn’t--”
“Unnie, don’t,” Tzuyu warned. “Y/N said she didn’t so we should just leave it at that.”
“Tzuyu’s right, we should start the V--”
Mina was cut off by Miyoung and a few other managers step into the room.
“Sorry we’re late!” Miyoung said. “We brought snacks!”
Momo’s eyes grew large. She nearly snatched the plastic bag from Miyoung, pulling out a large bag of BBQ Lays before passing the bag to me. I reached in and pulled out a green tea flavored Kit Kat (it’s been a minute since I’ve had one).
“Thank you, uh are you sure we can eat this on camera?” I said.
“Yes Y/N,” Sana said through a giggle. “Gone are our Sixteen days, plus this is our chill V-Live time, fans love to see us just kicking back and having fun.”
“Everyone huddle in!” Miyoung instructed. “Make sure you’re close so the viewers can see!”
Momo squeezed herself closer, and to my surprise Tzuyu did the same; she hasn’t been this close since Cry For Me dance practice, her perfume is too strong. It made me a bit light headed, or is it just the feeling of her close again? Probably both.
“Here Y/N,” one male manager said as he handed a phone off to me. “Hold this so you guys can keep up with the comments .”
Miyoung rested her phone up on a stand before looking to us.
“You guys ready?”
Everyone nodded, all but me.
“Y/N?” Mina asked as she slipped a hand on my shoulder.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” I said and put on my best smile.
“That’s all we can ask for,” Miyoung said. “Now, we’re live!”
The moment she pressed record, everyone around me perked up to flash their own smiles.
“Hi Onces! We just wanted to hang out with you guys and welcome our new member to you officially, Y/N!” they said in unison.
I waved and smiled enough to reveal teeth.
“Hi Onces! I’m glad to be here!”
My eyes couldn’t help but flock down to the phone in my hand, even with the other four members reading it as well. There’s a part of me that told me not to, but I had to stop thinking like that. I’m a member of Twice too, no matter what they think or say.
The oncoming comments read:
Hi Y/N!!!
So pretty!!
Hi from Brazil!!
Why is she here? Why couldn’t Nayeon take her place?
She doesn’t belong in Korea with the beauty of Twice.
Do you guys name your stuffed animals?
My heart hammered and thumped painfully hard in my ears; instead of stare blankly I chew on my Kit Kat in silence.
“Well I haven’t named this one yet,” Sana explained.
“Manager-unnie!” Mina called, waving to Miyoung. “We can report this comment here!”
“I got it,” Tzuyu said as she took the phone from my hands.
I watched her through a mouthful of chocolate as her brows stay focused; she turned back to the camera with determination as she handed the phone over to Mina.
“Y/N belongs here,” Tzuyu declared to the camera. “And if you don’t want to watch her with us you can leave.”
I almost choked at her words; I heard that correctly, right? I was dreaming, right? Tzuyu must have picked up on my stress and looped her arm around my own; she didn’t pay it much attention to it as she fell into more easy going questions with Momo, Mina and Sana. I did as well, soon enough.

Not the Type: 5/7
The muse has awakened! I feel awful for keeping ya'll waiting so long (5 months? seriously?!) for an update on this fic. I actually decided to split this chapter up once it reached 2k because I didn't want you waiting any longer for another chapter. So, this will now be 7 chapters plus an epilogue. Much thanks to my beta @hookedonapirate for untangling my awkward wording and making me sound so much better! You have a way of getting what I'm trying to say and making it flow. What would I do without you? Thanks to the @captainswanmoviemarathon mods for being so patient and understanding when I had to put this on the back burner. And finally, thank you to my dear friend @snowbellewells for helping me get the muse kickstarted again on this fic. You rock!
Oh, and fun fact: The part in this chapter about Ruby’s cheer injury really happened - to me when I was a cheerleader long, long ago . . .
Summary: Emma Swan first notices him in the stands at the Friday night football game. She can tell right away Killian Jones is not the football type. Then again, she’s not the cheerleader type either, but here she is with pom poms. Life hasn’t ever gone the way Emma planned. Lately, that’s actually been a good thing. Maybe Killian Jones is a good thing, too.
My loose Captain Swan AU of the movie Bring it On

Chapter Five
“You’ve got to let go of me for one second,” Emma giggled, her tone and the fact that she was simultaneously wrapping her free arm tighter around Killian’s waist completely contradicting her words.
“Do as I say, not as I do, hm?”
“I’m trying to get the mail!”
“So?”
“So you’re kissing my neck.”
“Hm, so I am.”
He flashed her a dazzling smile, his blue eyes slightly dazed, like he was drunk on love or something. Love? Emma wriggled free of his embrace as the word penetrated her lust filled, teenage brain. They couldn’t be in love or anything like that. This wasn’t a 90's rom com or something.
Killian was unfazed by her sudden distance, his hands still finding purchase on her elbow and hip; her hair still tickling his nose and mouth. She reached into the mailbox, pulled out an unusually thick stack and started flipping through it as Killian snaked his arms around her waist from behind and propped his chin on her shoulder. Emma wasn’t surprised to see college brochures; they had begun coming with increasing regularity now that she and her brother were juniors. One white envelope with blue writing gave her pause, however. It was addressed to her, and this was no brochure. It was a very official looking letter. Emma’s hands trembled as she tore it open.
“What is it?” Killian mumbled the question, far more interested in her neck at the moment.
Emma scanned the contents of the letter, and the more the words sank in, the more she trembled. So much so that the rest of the mail went fluttering to the sidewalk. Killian was finally pulled away from his obsession with her neck and spoke his next question with deep concern.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah . . . I, um,” she swallowed hard as conflicting emotions swirled in her brain. “The University of Kentucky is interested in recruiting me for their cheerleading squad.”
“That’s amazing, Swan!”
“You have no idea,” Emma said softly as she sank down onto the front step of her apartment building.
Killian gathered up the rest of the mail, then came and sat next to her. “Then continue in my cheerleading education, love.”
Emma chuckled, though she was also touched by the obvious interest he held in her pursuits, even if they weren’t necessarily in line with his.
“UK has the best cheer program in the country,” Emma explained. “They’ve won an insane number of national titles, probably more than any other college. You don’t just make the squad, you get a full ride. They’re that good.”
Killian lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles. “See? I knew you were bloody brilliant.”
Emma returned his bright smile with a shaky one of her own. “You’re so sweet.”
“You’re not excited about this?”
Emma bit her lip, staring at the letter in her hands until the words started to blur together. “I am. It’s just . . . this means they’ll be sending recruiters to our competitions. That’s a lot of pressure.”
“I’m sure you’ll rise to the occasion.”
Emma’s lips lifted in a half-hearted smile. Her head collapsed onto his shoulder, and he brushed his lips against her forehead.
“A full ride . . . “
She let the thought fade into the air. How could she screw up an offer like this? It would help Ruth out so much, and her brother, too.
Yeah, no pressure.
*******************************************************
“Hey, Em!”
One of Ruby’s dirty socks bounced off Emma’s head and landed in her lap. With a disgusted grumble, she batted it to the floor.
“Rubes, that’s gross!”
“Well, you’re sitting there, staring into space. Don’t tell me you’re suddenly embarrassed to put that thing on in front of everybody.”
Emma looked down at the sports bra still clutched in her right hand. They all learned early on that there was no modest way to squeeze your boobs into a sports bra, so the squad basically had to get real comfortable around each other real fast. And contrary to every teen movie ever made, there was nothing sexy about it. It was just athletes being a team in the locker room.
You know, like male athletes.
“Oh God, she’s contemplating sexism in sports again,” Ariel groaned.
“She is!” crowed Ruby. “Look how she’s staring at that sports bra!”
“You mean this torture device?” Emma quipped, waving the garment in the air like a feminist about to burn something.
“She isn’t wrong,” Mary Margaret put in.
“Well, I for one am thankful for the torture device,” Jasmine piped up.
“Here we go again,” groaned Tiana.
“It’s true!” Jasmine cried out. “I don’t want the girls flopping around. It hurts!”
“While this discussion is incredibly enlightening,” a voice said dryly from the doorway, “I’d prefer we start running our competition routine, if you ladies don’t mind.”
They all mumbled apologies to Coach Ava, along with promises to get out of the locker room as quickly as possible. Emma shed her blouse and regular bra, then struggled her way into her sports bra before slipping a cheer camp t-shirt over her head. She paused before one of the cracked mirrors that hung above a row of ancient porcelain sinks that dated back to the 1950s. Being a girls’ team that didn’t really bring in any ticket sales, the cheerleading squad was relegated to practicing in the old gym. It could've been worse, however. The seniors remembered their freshman year, before the new gym was built, when the cheerleaders were forced to practice in the atrium at the front of the school. The atrium was great for painting bust-throughs, but Emma couldn’t imagine having to practice there.
As Emma tugged her hair into a messy ponytail, she thought of the letter she had shoved in the front pocket of her backpack. She'd planned on showing it to Ruby and Mary Margaret, but for some reason, she'd lost her nerve. She sighed as she made her way out of the locker room. Letter or no letter, she had to get her head on straight.
As usual, the girls started off running a mile around the gym, and just like every other practice, Emma started off keeping pace with Ruby and Mary Margaret. Her mind was still a million miles away, however.
In Kentucky, she supposed. The bluegrass state. Was the grass really blue? I mean, it couldn’t be. How can grass be blue?
“Hey,” Ruby panted, leaning over her knees when the run was over, “what’s with you?”
“What’s what?”
Emma’s brow furrowed as she did a calf stretch. She was always getting charley horses in the middle of the night during competition season. Ruth kept bugging her to eat a banana every day, but she despised bananas. They were so mushy . . .
“Earth to Emma,” Mary Margaret laughed.
Ruby snapped her fingers in Emma’s face.
“What happened to the Emma we know and love?” she asked. “You know, the one who leaves us in the dust every practice, laughing her ass off the whole way?”
“It’s not my fault you two do a leisurely jog instead of a run.”
“Running is what you do when you’re being chased,” Mary Margaret countered. It was her usual argument.
Ruby narrowed her eyes at Emma. “You’re avoiding my question.”
“Lunges, girls, across the gym floor!” shouted Coach Ava, saving Emma from responding. She lined up with the rest of the squad along one side of the gym, then stepped forward with her right leg, her hands on her hips.
“Is it Killian?” Ruby hissed at her left.
“No!”
“Just drop it,” Mary Margaret snapped.
“Yeah,” Emma grunted as she lowered herself into another lunge, “it’s kinda hard to talk and do these at the same time.”
“Tiana, I wanna see a right angle on those lunges!” their coach called out. “Ruby, you might be able to keep your balance if you stop exercising your mouth!”
Emma laughed loudly as Ruby wobbled and almost went down. “Yeah, Rubes, I’d concentrate if I were you.”
And just to rub her friend’s face in it, Emma sped up her lunges, reaching the other side of the gym first.
“Excellent job,” Coach Ava praised her. “Smooth, with speed, and you didn’t lose your form.”
Ruby practically growled when Emma threw a smirk her way.
They did a few more drills, warmed up their tumbling with a few simple passes, then gathered on the mats to go through their routine. Coach Ava was still making a few simple changes, but for the most part, it was now all about committing it to muscle memory. They needed to be able to practically do the routine in their sleep by the time December rolled around. And that was only five weeks away.
The girls got into position, and the music started. They were opening with a tumbling peel off. The girls in the front did a standing back handspring, the girls in the middle a standing back tuck, and then . . .
Emma got to shine as she kept going. Out of a standing back tuck, into two back handsprings, and then finally into a full twisting double back as the music crescendoed. Usually, Emma’s adrenaline had her ending the pass with a huge smile on her face, but today she under-rotated and almost landed flat on her face. She tried to shake it off, but in the team’s first pyramid, she started to lose her balance, almost taking the rest of the team down with her. Emma chastised herself to get it together as her stunt group moved into position for their next stunt - a twist up
Their “theme” this year was hair. They whipped their ponytails a lot in the dance portion, and every song had to do with hair. In the next stunt, Emma had to pull up on her ponytail while she twisted up into an arabesque, as if she was pulling herself up by her hair.
It was a little like patting her head and rubbing her stomach at the same time, which was incredibly frustrating to Emma. The stupid hair pull was supposed to be a cool bit of choreography, not rocket science. Yet, once again, Emma seemed to get her arms, her long hair, and her legs tangled into a mass as she twisted upward. What happened next, Emma was never entirely sure. Ruby yelled, Emma felt herself tilting sideways and she panicked, making a rookie mistake - she attempted to jump down from the stunt. Her fist was still gripped in her hair, which she almost yanked out in the fall, and she kicked her spotter away - another rookie mistake. Thankfully, Coach Ava was able to dart forward in time to catch Emma. Behind her, she heard what she swore were skulls crashing together.
It was a pretty accurate description.
Ruby was swearing loudly as she clutched her chin. A little blood seeped between her fingers. Ashley covered her mouth with both hands, and Emma was alarmed to see a lot of blood rolling down the blonde’s chin and staining her shirt. Ava abandoned Emma to check on the two bases, barking at Mary Margaret to run and get the first aid kid.
Emma felt like the worst human being in the world. She clutched at her middle and kept whispering “I’m so sorry” over and over again, but no one paid her any attention.
Ava cleaned up the blood pouring from Ashley’s mouth enough to ascertain that all of her teeth were still intact. She just had a busted lip, something many of them had endured in the past. It was crazy how badly a mouth injury bled. As for Ruby, she didn't even need a band-aid once the blood was cleaned away with an antiseptic wipe.
“Watch it carefully for infection,” Coach Ava advised.
“Why?” Ruby asked with a furrowed brow.
Ava winced slightly before reluctantly explaining. “They're bite marks. Ashley’s teeth collided with your chin.”
“WHAT??” Ruby screeched.
The rest of the squad crowded around to see as Coach Ava tilted Ruby’s chin up for a better look. Sure enough, there were two teeth-shaped puncture marks, like she’d been attacked by a wild animal. Practically growling in irritation, Ruby shoved her teammates aside and rushed to the locker room for a better look.
Ruby’s scream moments later had all of the girls collapsing with laughter.
“Well,” Ava sighed, “I suppose we’re taking a little break before we run the routine again.”
*************************************************
“So Ruby has bite marks on her chin?”
Emma snort-laughed through her nose at the look on Killian’s face. “Yep. And the rumors about how she got them get more and more unbelievable as the day goes by.”
Killian rolled his eyes before taking a bite of his sandwich. “Bloody gits”
It was too cold now to sit under the trees in the school courtyard, so she and Killian were tucked into a hidden corner in the school atrium. They had to whisper, though, because sounds reverberated against the domed ceiling. Emma couldn’t imagine cheering in this space. How did the seniors not go deaf?
“It’s not really a sexy place for bite marks though,” Emma said as she licked Cheeto powder off her fingers.
“Yeah, I can think of far kinkier places.”
She smacked him in the chest as he waggled his eyebrows at her. She wanted to be indignant at his innuendo, but instead her cheeks burned as her mind plunged straight into the gutter. She already knew a little bit of what Killian could do with his teeth . . .
“Sorry,” he apologized, shifting gears faster than she would have thought possible, “I don’t mean to be an idiot like all the rest.”
Killian blushed and scratched behind his ear. She practically melted at the way he could so swiftly go from irrepressible flirt to sweet boyfriend. She leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek.
Emma crumpled up the Cheeto bag and stuffed it into her lunch bag. She handed the wad of trash to her boyfriend sweetly, batting her lashes exaggeratedly. Killian took her trash, chuckling as he stood up.
“You don’t have to use doe eyes to get me to do things for you,” he told her before walking to the trash can beside the front doors.
“I don’t?”
“Never,” he answered as he returned to her side. He sat back down on the floor, his back against the wall, and pulled her snug against his chest.
“So you’ll just wait on me hand and foot?”
“Like the princess you are.”
“Wow, I should really take more advantage of how whipped you are,” she joked.
Killian retaliated by tickling her in the ribs. She wriggled and laughed, but made no attempt to pull away from him. She glanced around, saw no adults, and then pressed her lips to his.
He kissed her back, sliding a hand into her hair. They kept it brief, not wanting to get caught. Storybrooke High gave demerits for PDA. Emma was tempted to just take the demerits so she could kiss her boyfriend thoroughly, but Coach Ava would pull her from the competition line up if she got one more demerit. So Emma just sighed and snuggled against Killian’s chest. He began to idly play with her hair.
“How many demerits do you get for PDA?”
Emma craned her neck to look at him. “How did you know I was thinking that?”
He grinned down at her rakishly. “I didn’t. But how many?”
Emma frowned. “It’s not bad, but it’s still too many for me. I’ve already gotten five demerits and six will get me cut from competition.”
“Scandalous. How did you get five demerits, love?”
Emma grumbled as she shoved a stray hair out of her eyes. “The first two I got because I argued with Mr. Gold about a paper he unfairly gave me a C- on. Then he wrote me up just for questioning him about it!”
“The bastard. And the other three?”
“That was me being stupid. I used the vending machine after noon.”
Killian’s laughter shook his chest, making Emma smile.
“That’s a stupid rule anyway.”
“I know, right? I forgot my lunch!” Emma tightened her arms around Killian. “Principal Mills did let me keep the chips, though.”
They were silent for a moment. Killian was still playing with her hair. She felt him take a deep breath and release it.
“Have you told the squad yet? About UK?”
Emma sighed. She figured he would ask her this eventually. “I will.”
“Emma -”
“I will.” She knew she needed to. Her friends could tell something was off, and she couldn’t afford to be distracted at any more practices.
Or any competitions.
Of course, if she screwed up this badly at a competition, The University of Kentucky might change their minds.

Keep On Loving You [AU!Anakin Skywalker x Reader]
Summary: After breaking up with Anakin nearly 5 years ago, you see him again.
Word Count: 6.1k+
Warnings: um angst, mentions of pregnancy and abortion, Anakin is an asshole in this one, fluff if you squint
A/N: This is a song fic, so listen to the cover of “Keep On Loving You” by Cigarettes After Sex while reading this!
Also, I was never gonna post this but I wanna supply ya’ll with content while I try (and horribly fail) to write ch 3 of Collide. Fun Fact: This was actually THE first fic I ever wrote and completed (so don’t have high expectations lmaooo)
Walking into the grocery store, you noticed it was more crowded than usual. It was odd, you thought, no one ever really comes to your local grocer. You brushed it off, continuing your shopping. Although you shopped here often, the workers rarely changed where the items were located. You had already familiarized yourself with the baking aisle, so imagine your surprise when you realized the flour was now on the top shelf. You tried to grab it by hopping, but that didn’t work out. As you started to climb the shelves, a hand reached out and grabbed it for you.
“Thank you!” You replied cheerfully. You hadn’t even had the chance to turn around before you heard a quiet, “No problem.” Your body had tensed up. You could recognize that voice anywhere, it didn’t matter that five years had already gone by.
“Ani?” You turned slowly, hoping your ears weren’t deceiving you.
“Y/N?” The warmth had left your face, you tried to blink back the tears. The air had left your body, suddenly you couldn’t remember how to breathe. “Hey, Anakin.” You said with a faint smile
“My god! It is you Y/N. How are you?” You were surprised he had even remembered you.
“I’m good, just buying some stuff for myself.” you replied.
“Flour? I don’t recall you being into baking when we were together..”
“Oh, yeah. It’s something I..uh.. Picked up on after you left. I was just actually getting some ingredients for some cookies. What about you, how are you doing?” You told him, you couldn’t bear to look him in the eyes, so you chose to admire the floor instead.
“I’m doing pretty good, I would go into full details but I don’t want to disturb you.” He said, “Actually, how about we go grab a cup of coffee?” After he said that, you lifted your head to look at him. He must’ve thought the face you made was funny because the corner of his lips started to quirk up.
“Yeah, okay. Let me just pay for this and we can go. Same place?” Anakin simply nodded his head, and with that you were off.
-
You let out a loud laugh, amused by one of Anakin’s stories. It felt like everything was right. As if the two of you never broke up, just like the old times. You wrapped your hands around the warm drink, trying to warm up your hands.
“So why are you back in New York, Anakin? I thought you were in Los Angeles for your acting career.” You paused, unsure what to say next.. “Congrats by the way, I know how much it means to you.” Although it hurt to say it, you were truly proud of his accomplishments. You turned to look at him and for the first time, you admired his appearance. His hair had gotten longer and his eyes were brighter now.
“About that, I’m here for my wedding!” For the second time today, the air left your body. You felt as though the world around you was now crumbling to pieces. It might’ve been five years, but you could never be able to stop loving Anakin.
“W-wow, really? Who’s the lucky lady?” You asked, you tried to keep your emotions in check. Now was not the time to cry.
“Her name is Padme, she’s an actress, just like me. It’s funny, we were both working on the same movie, our characters were in love with each other but I could’ve sworn she hated me. Well one thing led to another and now we’re going to get married.” A grin made its way onto Anakin’s face, “What about you Y/N, find anyone special?”
You hesitated before speaking, “No not really, I’ve been busy with work, taking care of my dogs and-” The shrill tone of Anakin’s phone cut you off, “Hold on, Padme’s calling..” He then proceeded to answer, giving you a sheepish look. You could faintly hear her on the phone, she had been panicking which caused Anakin to swiftly tidy up, “Okay, okay Padme, calm down, I’ll be there soon.” He gave you an apologetic look before getting up. “Do you.. Um… perhaps wanna go? To the wedding?” He asked you.
“Me? Ani, you want me to go?” You were curious, the two of you hadn’t spoken for almost five years, why in the world would Anakin want you there?
“Of course I do Y/N/N, how could I not?” You swallowed the lump in your throat before nodding. In return, a bright smile was given. “Great, I’ll send an invitation to your address” you quickly corrected him, “Actually, Anakin, I don’t live there anymore.” He let out a quick oh in response. Getting out a pen from your purse, you wrote down your address on a napkin before handing it to him.
He took a brief glance at it before shoving it in his pocket, “See you tonight?” You were caught off guard, “W-what?” you asked.
“To give you the invitation I mean.” He replied
You let out the breath you were holding, “Oh yeah, I guess I’ll see you tonight.” He gave you a swift nod accompanied by a smirk, and then he was gone.
-
By the time night came, you had completely forgotten that Anakin was going to stop by, too engrossed with the cookies you were baking. You were just about to take out the cookies when the bell rang. With a curse, you threw down the rag and ran to the door. Hastily opening the door, you were greeted by Anakin.
“Hey, thanks for coming by. It really means a lot to me, Anakin” You told him
“It really is no big deal y/n, and it would mean a lot to me if you came to my wedding.” Anakin then pulled an invitation out, “The wedding is on Saturday, the ceremony starts at 3pm.” Given that it was Tuesday, you had three days to find a suitable outfit. Or just rummage through your closet and find whatever was good enough.
“Look, I would invite you in Anakin, but I’m currently busy. Sorry” Your eyebrows were raised and gave him a shrug, “Gotta go, my cookies are gonna burn!” You shut the door on him before he could respond. You pressed your back against the door and took a deep breath to compose yourself before going back to your cookies. Seeing that your cookies were about to be burned, you quickly took them out.
“Who was at the door?” Asked your roommate
“HOLY SHIT! What the hell, Steve. Are you a ninja now?” You whisper screamed, taking a quick glance at him only to realize he was nearly naked, “And why in the world are you almost naked Steve?”
“It doesn’t matter. Oooh, are those cookies?” Before you could reply he grabbed one and shoved the hot cookie in his mouth. “So are you gonna tell me who that was?”
“No one, just a-- it was nobody.” you say, trying to sound convincing. Steve then gave you a pointed look, indicating that he would wait all night for the truth if he had to. Giving in, you told him who he was. “That was..he’s..” your eyes begin to tear up, “Anakin, it was him. He was just inviting me to his wedding.” It seems like all you did now was cry. You didn’t understand why you were crying, it’s been five years. You should be over him by now.
“Anakin, as in Anakin Skywalker the-” you cut him off, “Yes, that’s him.” The tears were coming out of you like a river now. He let out a soft sigh before taking you in his embrace, he knew what had happened between you and Anakin.
You had been waiting all night for Anakin to come home. You knew that he was close to landing a lead role, so you had wanted to prepare a nice dinner for his efforts along with sharing some good news of your own. Just as you pulled the chicken out of the oven, the front door opened. Anakin set down his stuff with a sigh, coming up behind you to wrap his arms around you.
For a moment, you let yourself get lost in his embrace. You enjoyed the warmth he emitted, snuggling closer to him. Anakin was the first person you had ever truly loved. No one could ever compare to him.
“So, how’d it go Ani?” Expecting another rejection, you turned to cup his face. However you were proved wrong when a smile lit up the room. “I got it baby! I did it!” He screamed, lifting you up and placing kisses on your face. You screamed along with him, you were happy that he was finally being recognized for his talent.
“Anakin, that’s amazing!” You were jumping with joy, “I made roast chicken, let's discuss over dinner.” You began to plate the chicken along with the honey roasted carrots and potatoes. Anakin set up the plates and cutlery, getting two wine glasses and your favorite bottle of wine. Once you saw that he finished setting up, you put the chicken and sides down on the table. Taking out a knife, you cut out a piece of breast meat for him. You were quite excited for this meal, you tried a new recipe, resulting in the chicken looking juicy and flavorful. You then served yourself before sitting down. Anakin reached for the bottle of wine, pouring himself a glass first before reaching over to grab yours.
“Actually, Ani, I think I’ll stick with water tonight.” He gave you a questioning look, “I’m quite parched, and although I’d love a glass right now, water seems like the only thing that can quench my thirst. Thank you though.” He got up to get you a glass of water before returning to his seat.
“So, tell me about it Ani.” You started the conversation
“Well y/n/n, everything about it was great. After auditioning I was sure I wasn’t going to get a call back, but they did baby! They called me and wanted to discuss the role with me.” He continued, “We have to start filming soon but..” He paused
“But what, Ani?” you implored
“I’m going to be gone for a long time y/n, in Los Angeles…” that surprised you, he was supposed to be gone in LA while you were in NYC, “How long Anakin?” you asked, afraid of his answer.
“Almost a year, my flight leaves tomorrow at 4:35pm” you froze, how were you supposed… what if… you couldn’t think, so many thoughts and questions were running through your mind.
“Ani, you’re going to spend a whole year in Los Angeles..away from me.”
“Y/n, it doesn’t have to be that way.” He reassured you, “You can come with me, we can still be together.” He must have been joking, there was no way you were going to leave. “Anakin, you know I can’t! Everything that I’ve built for my career is here!”
“If you come with me, we can rebuild our future together. Nothing will stop us, we won’t have anything to worry about. Imagine it, you and I, walking down the red carpet together. Hand in hand.” You were appalled, was that all he really cared about? The fame and fortune?
“You can’t be serious right now, Anakin! Is that all you care about? The money and fame that comes with being an actor? We both know that the world doesn’t give two shits about people like us!” You screamed, your chest was heaving now.
“People like us? What do you even mean by that? Are you insinuating that I’ll never be successful?” By now his eyes were wide open, gone was the supposed celebratory night.
“No- Anakin you’re putting words into my mouth, I-” “THEN WHAT Y/N? WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY MEAN?” You took a deep breath before opening your mouth, “Ani, all I’m saying is that the people don’t care about nobodies, and they never will.”
“But that’s the thing y/n, everyone starts as a nobody, yet the only person who can change that is yourself. I’m sorry but I can’t be with someone who doesn’t believe in me.” His eyes glistened with tears, he sniffled quietly, “I’ll come back for my stuff tomorrow before I leave, but I can’t stay here tonight.” The awkward squeaking of his chair broke you out of your trance, you watched as he put on his jacket and collected his keys. Just as he was walking out the door he paused, “You know y/n, I would’ve gone anywhere in the world for you. I just wished you’d done the same for me.” He said before softly closing the door.
You got up from your seat and walked towards your bedroom. Sitting down on the bed, you let out a defeated sigh. You scanned the room, only now noticing how much of it was filled with Anakin’s things. His scent still lingered in the air. You didn’t realise you were crying until you felt a tear drop onto your hands. You wiped away the tears before reaching under your side of the bed and taking out a box. Gently grasping the picture, you took it out of the box before starting to cry again, “It was supposed to be us together, forever.”
“So what’re going to do y/n? Are you actually going to his wedding?” Steve questioned you. In response you gave him a shrug. You knew it was wrong of you to go, but Anakin had personally invited you himself. Even though the two of you hadn’t talked to each other for half of a decade, he was still someone you cared about. Hell, you and Anakin grew up together as best friends, you had to be there for him. It was the least you could do. “Yeah, I’m going, Steve.”
-
The day of the wedding, you woke up nervous. Who wouldn't be, the ex you’re still madly and deeply in love with was going to get married to someone that wasn’t you. You called out for Steve but got no reply. You let out a sigh before getting up to get your phone to text him.
You: Hey, wya?
Steve: Good Morning y/n, I’m currently out. I won’t be home until later today, sorry bug :((
You: What! I was relying on you to watch my kids
Steve: I know, I know, sowwy. Maybe you can text the babysitter?
You left Steve on read to quickly text your babysitter.
You: JAR JAR!
JJ: Yo, wassup. What can I do for you today?
You: Can you take care of my precious children today? Pretty please!!!
JJ: Of course I can, I’d love to.
You: Great thanks JJ! Please be here before 2:05pm :)
You were grateful that you had Jar Jar on days like this, while you hadn’t spent much time with him, you trusted him enough with your kids. Hopping into the shower, you washed your hair and body, letting the warm water and steam unwind you a little. By the time you were done showering it had been 11:35am, leaving a couple hours to get ready and maybe have a little snack.
Walking over to your closet, you pulled out a satin champagne dress. It had a low cut, showing a little cleavage. The fabric on the left side of your hip wrapped around your body, coming back up to where it started, giving you a slight slit. Then you moved onto makeup, deciding on going for a simple look. After applying your foundation, concealer, and contour, you moved onto the upper half of your face. You carefully filled in your brows, making sure each swipe was precise. Taking a spoolie, you blended the brow product ensuring that your brows weren’t so harsh looking. Next, you took your favorite mascara and applied it to your lashes. While there was some volume, you decided to put on some eyelashes so your eyes didn’t look so naked compared to the rest of your face. You moved onto blush and highlight, deciding on whatever complimented your skin. For the finishing touch, you chose a mauve-nude lipstick along with a glittery lipgloss. As for hair, you slicked it back, putting it into a nice tight low bun. By the time you were finished, the clock was at 1:25pm. It took you nearly two hours to get ready, but you still had time to accessorize and grab a snack.
You grabbed the first gold necklace you could find and put it on, along with a pair of dangly earrings. The house was quiet, so you assumed that the dogs were still asleep or taking a nap. Creeping into the kitchen, you settled on having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a cup of yogurt for breakfast. Something quick and easy, it would keep you sustained until the eating portion of the wedding. If you had to be real, that was the one thing you were looking forward to. I mean who doesn’t love free food? After cleaning up, you went back to your room taking a quick second to check up on the sleeping beast on your bed. Seeing as it was still asleep, you went to the closet and pulled out a jacket along with strappy gold heels. It was nearing 2pm so you picked up your purse and made sure you had everything you needed. Makeup? Check. Phone? Check. Keys? Check. Invitation? Check. You walked into the bathroom and checked yourself out one last time. As you were heading towards the door, the doorbell rang, signaling Jar Jar’s arrival. You went to open it and invited him in.
“Alright Jar Jar, I’ve gotta run. You know where the food is if they get hungry, they’ve been napping for a while now so they might wake up soon, you know the drill.” You told him
“Yeah, yeah. I’ve got this under control. I’ve done this like a hundred times, duh.” He announced, you smiled at him. He never failed to lift your mood with his sarcastic and goofy attitude. You gave him one last nod before grabbing your keys out of your purse to lock the door.
Hopping into your car, you typed the address into your phone and started the journey to the venue. It took about 25 minutes to get there, you arrived at 2:30, giving you some time to find parking and a seat at the ceremony. The event was pretty big, given that both Anakin and Padme were famous, there had been many guests. You chose a seat in the middle of all the chairs, not too close yet not too far. You looked around, trying to spot anyone you knew but you couldn’t find anyone. Just as you were about to go on your phone to pass the time you felt someone sit awfully close to you. You looked up realizing who it was.
“Anakin!” You were surprised, shouldn’t he be up at the front? “Why’re sitting next to me? Aren’t you supposed to be at the front?” You took a glance at him, noticing how well his tux fit him.
“Well yeah, but I’m nervous y/n/n..” he replied. “What, why? Isn’t this supposed to be the happiest day of your life..?” you asked, you were starting to have second thoughts, maybe you shouldn’t have come after all. “I guess… listen I gotta go now, but you’ll be at the reception yeah?” you nodded, then he got up and walked away.
Before you knew it, music was starting to play but no one walked in yet, signalling that they were going to begin shortly. You took the time to admire the venue, there was a light lace fabric spanning from wall to wall, acting as a backdrop. The venue itself was a beautiful, dark brick building. Strewn around the room were fairy lights, making the atmosphere warmer. At the ends of every row were lanterns, containing light pink rocks and a burning candle. Across the aisle laid a white runway, each side having flower petals scattered, but left a clear path for the bridal party to walk down.
The doors swiftly opened and the music changed pace, one by one the bridal party began to walk down the aisle until the only person left was the bride. Each bridesmaid wore a different style of dress that complimented their style, but the color remained the same. Noticing that everyone was standing up, you stood up too, straightening out your dress. The orchestra played Canon in D, a wedding classic. Turning to Padme, you first took in her beauty. Her hair was curled to perfection, tied back only leaving a few hairs to frame her face. Her features were soft and angelic looking, you really couldn’t tell if she was wearing makeup or not. Your eyes drifted to her dress, it was truly magnificent. It was white with ivory detailing, her flowy sleeves made of lace. It was as if she was an angel sent from the heavens. You continued to admire her, then your eyes fell to her swollen belly, one hand clasped over it while the other was holding her bouquet. You were shocked to the core, Anakin really didn’t love you anymore, did he? Of course, you weren’t a silly girl, you knew that he was going to move on from you, but you hadn’t expected this.
Just as Padme took Anakin’s hand, you flopped down into your chair. The remainder of the guests sat down too, commencing the ceremony.
“Friends and family, we are joined here today to celebrate the wedding of Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker.” Hold on, wait a second. Was that Obi Wan? Your whole body perked up, looking for the strawberry blonde. You were surprised that they chose Obi Wan to be their officiant. Given the fact that they’re both famous, you’d assume they’d have an actual priest at their wedding. To ya’know, keep up their reputation and appeal to their audience.
You should've seen by the look in my eyes, that there was something missing.
“Marriage is a pathway to a promise between two beings. That they will always love and trust each other. Creating a bond that can never be broken. So I’ll ask this now before we continue. If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace.” For a minute, the world around you stopped. All you could see was him, your Anakin. His eyes met your gaze, as if it was a silent plea.
Tearing your eyes away from him, you sunk into your seat. Oh gods, why did you just have to go to the store while Anakin was in town. All of this could’ve been avoided if you had just gone shopping on Monday, but who the hell goes grocery shopping on a Monday?
“Alright, now that we have that out of the way, let's allow the bride and groom to share a few words.” Obi Wan handed the microphone to Anakin.
You should've known by the tone of my voice, but you didn't listen.
“You know Padme, never in a million years did I think I’d be getting married.” ouch, “Let alone to the girl of my dreams.” wow, it seems like Anakin was trying to make you more miserable than you already were. “So it’s so amazing that I’m standing here today, with you. Within the five years I’ve known you, three of them consisting of us being together, I’ve come to know what type of person you are. Padme is selfless, loving, and strong-willed. After our first movie together, I just knew that I had to have her. Every time I’d ask you out on a date, you’d laugh and say ‘Ask me tomorrow, Anakin’” cue the laughing, “so that’s what I did. Finally when you said yes, I felt like I was going to explode with excitement. After our first date, I just knew that I would love you forever, Padme.”
‘Cause it was us baby way before them.
The sun was softly shining through your curtains, you felt a hand brushing through your hair. Letting out a soft groan, the hand stopped, “Oh, please don’t stop on my account, Ani.” You looked up at him, a smile forming on his lips, “Good morning, angel.” You gave him a quick peck before saying good morning back, getting up to get ready for the day.
“So what’s the plan for today, Anakin?” You asked from the bathroom, picking up your toothbrush you applied tooth paste then proceeded to brush your teeth. Anakin’s arms suddenly wrapped around your torso, his chin resting on your head. “How about you go treat yourself, go shopping, maybe hang out with some friends, and when you come home, I’ll have dinner ready. How does that sound?” You pondered for a minute before nodding your head.
By the time you had arrived home, it was already 6:50pm. Unlocking the door, a delicious smell wafted from the kitchen. First you took off your shoes, leaving them by the door. Next came your jacket, hanging it on the coat rack. You snuck up behind Anakin, wrapping your arms around his neck. You could say sneaky snuggles were a daily thing in your relationship. “Whatcha cookin good lookin?” Anakin let out a snort, “Only the best for my girlfriend. How about you go sit down while I bring the food to the table.” You turned to the table, noticing everything was already set up. You took your seat just as Anakin laid down the meal. Chicken parmesan with homemade lasagna.
“Oh Ani, my favorite! You didn’t have to, what’s the occasion?” You squealed
“No reason, like I said, only the best for my girl.” He smiled, lifting up his wine glass, you mirrored his actions, “I’d like to make a toast dedicated to you, my lovely, beautiful, amazing girlfriend. I love you, forever.”
And I meant every word I said, when I said that I love you, I meant that I love you forever.
You were full on blushing now, “I love you too, Ani. A toast, to forever.” The two of you joined glasses, a clink echoed in the near quiet apartment.
You were awoken from your flashback by loud applause, did you just daydream during the remainder of the wedding? You turned to the old lady next to you, “Is it over?” She turned to look at you, appalled by your appearance but nodded nonetheless. “Oh am I crying,” awkward laugh, “I always cry at weddings..” You turned to look away and instead focused on the bride and groom newly wedded husband and wife making their way down the aisle. Both adorning smiles on their faces.
The guests were ushered outside near an open bar area. You were encouraged to take pictures but chose to watch the workers as they changed the venue from ceremony mode to reception mode. You noticed they kept most of the decorations, only adding circular tables and necessities. The lanterns now became centerpieces while the flowers scattered down the aisle were now randomly placed across the room. There was a long, rectangular table arranged in front of the white backdrop. Obviously for Padme and Anakin, along with their bridal party and family. You looked around quickly before leaving to go to the bathroom. Once there you took a deep breath and looked at yourself in the mirror. A gasp left your mouth, your looks were beyond atrocious. You closed your mouth before you could catch any flies and touched up your makeup.
Walking out of the bathroom you had nearly made it to the bar before you stumbled into somebody, “Hello there.” Seems like you couldn’t run away from your past, “Hello, Obi Wan. How are you?” After asking him, the two of you had spent the next fifteen minutes catching up on eachothers lives. Finally, the staff had announced that the tables were ready. Obi Wan promptly excused himself, now by yourself you went to go find your seat. To make your life easier, you went to the table where they had a list of names and where you could find your seat. You were sat at table three, pretty close to the front for someone who R.S.V.P.ed at the last second.
When you got to your table, you noticed there were already some people seated, none that you knew though. Sitting down, you began to mingle with your peers. Making small talk until the buffet was ready.
It took a while, but dinner was finally ready to start. You’d waited all day for this moment and you couldn’t wait. Once your table was dismissed, you got in line with a plate in your hand. The first thing you noticed was the variety, which was a good thing for you because you could eat to your heart's content. After making yourself a plate, you went back to your table to eat. You shoveled the delicious food into your mouth, hoping to get a second plate but you were interrupted by the clinking of glass. Toast time you thought to yourself, a frown upon your face. Darn, you were really keen on getting that second plate.
You zoned out during the toasts and eventually their first dance, all you could think about was getting out of this damn dress. You couldn’t wait to go home and take a hot shower while crying your eyes out. Coming back to the real world, you noted how everyone was standing up, crowding around Padme and Anakin as a cake was placed in front of them. Great, I really need to stop zoning out.
“Okay, before we continue with the cake cutting, I’d just like to say that not only is this cake to celebrate our marriage, but it’s also our gender reveal cake!” fuck, Fuck, FUCK..you really shouldn’t have come. God you’re so stupid, I mean why the fuck would would anyone think going to your exs wedding is a good idea. The room fell silent, anticipating the color of the cake. Gasps were let out when the piece of cake was shown. Pink and blue? Are they having- “Twins! We’re having twins!” Anakin shouted. You couldn’t breathe, you needed fresh air. You hurriedly stepped outside, choosing to sit down on a bench to try and collect your breath.
You must’ve been outside for a while because before you knew it, Anakin was sitting next to you. “What’re doing out here, Anakin? Shouldn’t you be inside dancing with your wife?” You asked.
“I wish..” Anakin scoffed, his eyebrows were furrowed deep in thought. “What do you mean? This is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. You just married the woman you love for crying out loud!” You protested.
Anakin let out a sigh, “Yeah, that’s just the thing. Padme was never supposed to get pregnant. We were never supposed to get married. The only reason why I proposed was because our agencies thought it would be good for our reputation.” This was some shocking news, you thought they truly loved each other. Well Anakin at least, you couldn’t speak for Padme.
“You know, the day after we broke up when I came to collect my belongings, I waited for you. I knew you were gone, waiting for me to finally leave. But I waited for you. For as long as I could.” You had no idea why Anakin was telling you this. Why would he bring something like this up… unless… no, it wasn’t possible.
When Anakin entered his your apartment, the first thing he noticed was how quiet it was. Sure, it was still morning, but you weren’t someone to sleep past 10 am. You had always enjoyed getting up early. It was before noon, so Anakin had just assumed you were out for brunch. He began to collect some of his belongings, only taking what was necessary. He didn’t want to take any of the pictures, just in case you missed him enough and wanted to longingly stare at them. So instead he took out his phone and took a photo of every picture he liked. The good, the bad, and the ugly; Anakin wanted to remember all of it. Entering your room, Anakin was quick to take what he needed. He almost left before he remembered the most important thing to him, his mother's ring. Anakin knew he couldn’t leave without so he went to find it. He searched high and low until he came across a box under the bed. Although the two of you were together, he never went through your things without permission. But Anakin was desperate, so he opened the box.
At first he was unsure of what he was looking at. Sure, the picture was simply black and white but he just couldn’t figure out what it was. Until his eyes drifted to the upper left hand corner, containing your full name, medical information, and the date. Was this what he thought it was? Were you pregnant? He took the ultrasound into his hands, forgetting about the ring.
He swore that at that very moment, he could’ve cried, and he did. What was he going to do now? He didn’t know if he should’ve waited for you to return or leave. On one hand he would be starting a family with you while on the other he would be following his dreams.
“So, you knew? That I was pregnant?” Anakin nodded his head, “..and you still chose to leave?” The words felt heavy on your tongue. “Believe me, I wanted to stay. For god's sake, y/n, I waited there for you. For HOURS! By the time I had to leave you still weren’t back. I had to choose between my passion and you. It wasn’t easy to make the decision, but you weren’t there and my future was awaiting me.” Anakin’s voice was quivering, it hurt him to think about this.
“Anakin, can I ask you a question?” Anakin nodded his head, motioning for you to go on. “The night we broke up, if I had told you that I was pregnant; would you have stayed?” His mouth opened as if he was going to answer, only for it to snap shut. Tears welled up in your eyes, you had your answer, “You know what, it doesn’t matter, it’s not like I kept the baby.” You shook your head, not wanting to cry in front of Anakin. You stood up, gathering your things and left without uttering another word to him. Everything he said to you was a lie, because if he had really loved you, he would’ve stayed.
And I'm gonna keep on loving you, because it's the only thing I wanna do.
-
By the time you had gotten home, you had much time to think. You’d spent the past five years dreaming of that exact moment. You would’ve told him you were pregnant, and in return he would’ve chosen to be with you. The two of you would get married and live a happy life with your children. But those dreams were shattered by the harsh reality. Anakin wouldn’t have stayed and he wouldn’t have married you.
Moving into the bathroom, you removed your makeup, seeing as it was ruined by your tears, again. Taking off your clothes, you hopped into the hot shower. You were going to cry but decided to give your eyes a rest since you had basically cried all the way home. After changing into your pajamas you creeped into your room.. Slowing making your way to bed, you got under the covers. Once you had almost fallen asleep, you felt something lay on your chest. You gently started stroking her hair, “Sorry, did I wake you, Shani?” you asked softly, a quiver in your voice.
“No, it’s okay momma. I was waiting for you to get home.” Her voice was quiet and delicate. “Are you okay momma?” Although she was barely five, she was a smart girl. She looked up, noticing your eyes were swollen. She must’ve heard the falter in your voice.
“Of course I am Ani, I’ve got my little angel with me.” She gently laid her head back down, her small arms doing their best to wrap around you. You continued stroking her hair until her breathing evened out, signalling she was asleep.
Soon after, you found yourself dozing off to the thought of what could’ve been.
I don't wanna sleep, I just wanna keep on loving you.

12 Days of Christmas with Jack:Day 5
Pairing: Jack Whiskey Daniels x OC (written in second person)
Rating:PG
Warnings: sad Jack, a bump in the road, mentions of his wife passing, I believe that’s it
Word Count:1,030
Author’s Notes: Whew posting this part feels like a sigh of relief I will not lie. This one was a tough one probably because of the dash of angst we experience. I really appreciate all the love and feedback so so so much ya’ll have no idea! I hope you all enjoy!! Special thanks to @clint-aww-no-barton as always
Part 4
You struggled to knock on the door in front of you with a massive box in your hands but you soon managed. When Jack opened the door you gave him a big smile from over said box.
“Darlin’ what in this world?” He was quick to take it from you and you let out a sigh of relief before following him inside his home.
You looked around letting out a soft chuckle at how much Jack’s home was so him down to every detail.
“What are you chuckling at?” He smiled over at you.
“Your home just fits you nicely. It’s very you and very nice,” you glanced over at him after taking a good look around.
He had sat down the box and was glancing inside.
“It’s decorations. I thought maybe I might could make your home a little more festive,” you gave him a slight look worried he would turn the idea down flat.
“You are something else. Go for it,” he shook his head and let out a laugh.
You couldn’t help but to let out a happy little sound and clapped your hands together before setting off to work.
***
You had strung lights outside and set up cute little Christmas trees next the door on each side before you set off working on the inside. You only let Jack help when you needed the extra height but you kept turning down any more help than that from him. You stood now on a small ladder just finishing up adding garland to his mantle above the fireplace before placing small Buffalo plaid Christmas trees to each corner. You were glancing over the pictures that were scattered there. Picture of Jack and his family along with pictures of him and his wife. She was beautiful and the smiles they wore warmed and broke your heart all at once. You picked up the picture closest to you. They were younger that much you could tell and in your mind you wondered how long it was before she passed.
“Is this her Jack? Ya’ll are beautiful together,” you mustered up a small smile before looking up at him.
The look on his face made your heart stop for a few seconds and he stepped to you before taking the picture from your hands and sitting it face down on the table next to his couch. Your eyebrows knitted together.
“Hey talk to me. What was that about?” You questioned him but he was quiet.
You had just messed up and you knew it. You shouldn’t have brought her up. The whole point of everything you had been doing was to keep him from feeling like this.
“I...I’m sorry Jack. I’ll...um just go. I was finished anyway,” you started to gather your things and started to slide on your jacket when you felt a hand around your wrist.
“Please don’t go,” his voice was so soft and his eyes were pleading.
Jack had slumped in slight defeat and you shrugged your jacket back off your shoulders. Jack pulled you to the couch and sat you both down. He sat forward with his elbows on his knees and let out a sigh. The silence seemed to stretch for miles before finally spoke.
“I’m really sorry Ryder. You deserved better than that and I shouldn’t have acted that way. You had all right to ask about her it’s just really hard. It’s hard to talk about her period but this time of year it’s a lot worse. Christmas, it was her favorite holiday,” he paused and looked at you a small sad smile on his lips.
“You remind me a lot of her in that sense. She would have loved all this. Ryder darlin’ you deserve to be happy. I still can’t believe you are doing all this for some ol’ cowboy who doesn’t deserve it by any means.”
“Jack Daniels you deserve to be happy. You deserve all of this. You are such a kind man and you deserve the world,” you had grabbed his hand as you spoke and he looked back at you.
You both shared a smile before he pulled you to him and hugged you tight. You felt it then. The butterflies were not just flying around they had erupted. You knew you had feelings for him but now it was just confirmed even more to yourself as he held you there.
“Now that we got past that, I believe something just might be missing,” Jack pulled away and looked around the room.
“Oh yeah and what’s that?” You asked with a smile relief filling you.
“A tree.”
“Then let’s go get one!!”
You quickly grabbed your jacket before Jack took your hand and walked you out to his truck.
The sun had not set quite yet but was sneaking behind the horizon as Jack drove to a Christmas tree farm just outside of town. The two of you climbed out and started to walk through trying to find that perfect tree. You stopped at one that in your eyes was perfect. It was fluffy and just the right height for Jack’s living room.
“I think I found the perfect one.”
Jack came to stand next to you placing his hands on his hips and looking the tree over himself.
“Darlin’ I believe you are right! Let’s do this.”
He set in with preparing to cut it down before doing just that. You helped in anyway you could until it was cut down and one of the workers came out to help Jack carry it to the truck. He paid for it before climbing in the truck and driving away.
“Wait we have to go get lights and ornaments!” You felt your excitement grow again.
“I think we can handle that too sugar,” he smiled over at you.
You could tell in his eyes that there was a part of him at least that was still holding back and holding on to the guilt he had over what happened today. It only pushed you further on wanting to make this a magical Christmas for him and to make sure he knows he deserves to be happy.

Chapter 5
Dove felt the blood drain from her face. Her stomach turned as she closed her eyes to keep from spilling the already minimal contents of her stomach onto the rooftop. A sudden shout followed by a click caused her eyes to shoot open. The brunette nudged her way past Glenn as she stared down at the other men in their group, weapons all pulled on each other except for T-Dog. Her heart sank before she heard Rick’s voice. “Drop it. Or I swear I’ll do it. I don’t care if every walker in the city hears it.”
There was an audible exhale from Glenn as the crossbow was lowered, but the way Daryl stared at T-Dog still made Dove uneasy. She stood on the edge of the platform as Daryl finally spoke. “Ya got a do-rag or something?” Much to her surprise, T-Dog reached into his pocket in order to provide Daryl with a blue bandana.
Finally feeling safe enough to descend, Dove to the few steps down to the rooftop slowly. Backpack straps clutched tight in her hand as the cool metal almost dug into the palm of her right hand, she came to a stop between T-Dog and Rick. It was like a train crash, you want to look away but you can’t.
“I guess the saw blade was too dull for the handcuffs,” Daryl spoke as he picked up his brother’s hand in a surprisingly delicate way, “Ain’t that a bitch.”
“I mean if I ever saw anything that looked like the definition of ‘ain’t that a bitch’ it might be that hand,” Dove whispered to Rick. Her stomach lurched again and she swallowed hard as she watched the hand be deposited in Glenn’s backpack. Glenn didn’t look pleased, but it wasn’t like any of them were going to stop Daryl Dixon anytime soon.
“Must have used a tourniquet. Maybe his belt? Would have been much more blood if he didn’t,” Daryl pointed towards the ground and Dove’s eyes scanned the fresh blood stains. Daryl began to walk off and with a nod from Rick, the others followed.
“I’m just going to pretend that Merle Dixon’s hand isn’t in my backpack right now,” Glenn said through gritted teeth as T-Dog walked off to collect Dale’s tools.
“I’m tellin’ you right now, if that shit starts stinkin’, I’m taking it out and using it for batting practice,” Dove shook her head. “Man this fuckin sucks.”
Daryl’s sudden shouts for his brother were definitely startling. Not only for the volume, but for the fact that they didn’t know if there were any walkers in the building that might hear him. She prayed there weren’t any.
As they walked into a room and saw two walkers down for the count, Dove let out an appreciative whistle.
“Had enough in him to take these two out one handed,” Daryl said as they all surveyed the room.
“That’s one tough son of a bitch,” Dove mumbled as she tiptoed past one of the walkers on the ground.
“Toughest asshole I ever met. Feed him a hammer, he’d crap out nails,” Daryl nodded as he reloaded his crossbow.
Dove walked slowly around the room, a quick peek out the window showed her there was nothing to see outside except the walkers roaming. Not that she expected much different.
“Any man can pass out from blood loss, no matter how tough he is,” Rick raised his gun and began to walk through the room.
“Plus, he was probably running on pure adrenaline. He might have crashed at some point. But like you said. Toughest asshole you ever met, right?” Dove raised an eyebrow at Daryl as she went to walk past him into the next room. “I mean I’m sure he’s fine,” her apology was lost as Daryl clenched his jaw, shook his head, and walked forward into the next room.
“Nice going,” Glenn shot her a thumbs up as he came up next to her.
“Shut up,” Dove grunted and stomped ahead, not wanting to fall behind too much.
~
The smell from the stove hit her before she even entered the room. Dove coughed and covered her mouth.
T-Dog covered the lower half of his face, “God what is that?”
Dove’s answer was muffled through her hand, “Burnt skin.” She caught the wary glance of her friend and shrugged. “What? I used to work in a crisis unit right out of college. Saw a lot of shit. But the smells would always be the thing that got me,” she shivered slightly as she stepped into the room just in time to see Rick approaching the stove.
Glenn approached from the side asking what it was and Rick just confirmed her suspicions. “Skin. He cauterized the stump.” That was it. Dove retched and ducked back out of the room. The contents of her stomach spilled out on the floor in front of her as she placed her hands on her knees to recover.
She heard footsteps approach and held a hand out into the room. “’m fine. Just give me a second.” Another cough echoed through the hallway before she was able to straighten up and reenter the room as she wiped her face on the sleeve of her shirt. “Sorry…”
The looks she got ranged from annoyed to sympathetic before Daryl shook his head and broke the silence. “He ain't dead. Nothin can kill Merle but Merle.”
Dove had to appreciate how much faith the man had in his brother. It was admirable. Just like she had to admire the fact that, in spite of an injury that could take another man out, Merle Dixon had somehow made it out of the building.
“Why the hell would he do that,” Glenn squinted at the bright light from the broken window.
“Why wouldn’t he? He’s out there alone as far as he knows,” Daryl mused as he pulled back from the window.
“You call that surviving? What are his odds out there,” T-Dog motioned towards the window.
“He’s right. Any sane man would assume that people who left him chained to the roof wouldn’t come back. Not that ya’ll didn’t have your reasons,” Dove shifted from foot to foot as T-Dog stared at her. She didn’t mean anything by it, but to her it seemed like nothing but facts.
“You couldn’t kill em,” Daryl stepped up to Rick. “Not so worried bout a dumb dead bastard.”
“What about 1,000 dumb dead bastards,” Rick snapped back. “Different story?”
“Take a tally, do what you want. I’m gonna go get him.” Daryl went to march off before Rick was able to stop him.
Dove’s wide eyes met Glenn’s shocked gaze as the two men argued about whether Daryl was going on not.
“You can’t stop me,” Daryl practically shouted.
The next thought that went through Dove’s head was that maybe Rick was actually a good cop as he was able to empathize with the other man. “He’s family, I get that. I went through hell to find mine. I know exactly how you feel.” It actually seemed to get through as Daryl stopped pacing like a caged animal. “He won’t get far with the injury. We could help you check a few blocks around but only if we keep a level head.”
T-Dog spoke as the attention turned to him, “Alright but only if we get those guns first. I’m not roaming the streets of Atlanta with just my good intentions.”
Rick turned his head and nodded towards Dove. The young woman paused for a moment. “T’s right. I’m in but…I mean if it comes down to it, a gun is much faster than a crowbar and I would just feel a lot safer if we got the guns first.” Her hazel eyes glanced towards Daryl and she furrowed her eyebrows. “But I do want to help you find your brother. Because if it was my sister, I wouldn’t stop lookin until I found her or I knew she was dead.”
The expression on Daryl’s face was unreadable as he nodded his head. “Alright. But we best go get those guns, then. Don’t want Merle bleedin out,” his eyes narrowed at Rick again before he shouldered his crossbow. This might be the most agreeable that they had ever seen him, even if he still looked like he was ready to fight.
~
The five of them had settled down in another room so that Glenn could look at the map. He knew where the guns were and he knew the city best. Dove had perched herself on the edge of a desk and it was there she sat, legs crossed, when Glenn mentioned his plan about going out to find the guns. Alone.
Rick immediately interrupted, “You’re not doing this alone.” Dove’s hands shook as she ran a hand down her face.
“Even I think it’s a bad idea and I don’t even like you much,” Daryl agreed.
“It’s a good idea,” Glenn interjected from his spot on the floor.
Dove threw a thumbtack from the desk in his direction. “It’s a fucking awful idea! What do you got a death wish or somethin’,” she hissed at the younger man as she bounced her leg and shook her head.
“If you just hear me out,” Glenn almost pleaded. She couldn’t even believe they were having this discussion. “If we go out in a group, we’re slow. We draw more attention. If I’m alone, I can move fast.”
She hated the fact that he sounded right. She tuned out the mapping of the city until she heard it. “That’s where Daryl, Dove, and I will go.” Her head snapped up as she looked across at Daryl. He looked equally confused.
“Why me?”
“You’re crossbow is quieter than his gun,” Glenn shrugged his shoulders.
Dove sighed, hopped down from the desk, and crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Yeah but why me?”
Glenn stared up at her, “Next to me, you’re the fastest. I mean you played sports.”
“Yeah like ten years ago in high school!” Dove rolled her eyes.
“But, you’re fast. If things go wrong, you run for the guns. They're the most important thing.” Glenn pointed to the map on the floor.
Dove’s eyes scanned the crudely drawn diagram of the streets with narrowed eyes before finally letting out a sigh. “Alright. I guess I’m in.”
“While they wait here in the alley,” Glenn placed a gum wrapper on the board, “I run up the street, grab the bag.” He then explained the positioning of the others in the group. It sounded way too easy and usually when things sound that easy, they aren’t. “Whichever direction I go, I got you in both places to cover me.” Dove nodded her head in appreciation as he finished his explanation.
“Hey kid,” Daryl finally spoke up, “What’d you do before all this?”
Glenn squinted, “Delivered pizzas. Why?”
Dove’s eyes widened as she let out a quiet snort of laughter before she nodded her head. “Makes sense. Gotta learn the backstreets to make those thirty minutes or less, ain’t that right?”
~
The ladder that they had to climb down was less than ideal. Dove sighed as she looked down at it before she held a hand out in front of Glenn. “Uh uh. Didn’t you ever hear of ladies first? Plus, I don’t exactly feel like having anyone check out my ass,” she held two fingers up to her eyes before turning her hand to point at the two men. She swung her leg over the edge of the building and placed a foot on the top rung of the ladder as she heard Daryl speak up.
“Not much to check out,” he said just loud enough for her to hear.
Dove smirked wickedly for a moment. “Then check this out,” she raised her middle finger at both of them before she began her descent.
She heard Glenn say something about being nice to Daryl before beginning his own descent. Wouldn’t that be the day.
A few rungs from the ground, Dove hopped off the ladder and landed with a quiet grunt before she stepped to the side.
Glenn stepped past her once they were all on the ground. “C’mon,” he motioned down the alley.
Dove followed close behind Daryl, crowbar raised slightly as she stood next to the dumpster. She still didn’t like this.
“You got some balls for a Chinaman,” Daryl stated.
“I’m Korean,” Glenn corrected.
“Is now really the time for this,” Dove hissed through gritted teeth
Then Glenn was off. Dove moved forward slightly before she felt a tight grip on her arm. Her knees hit the ground as she was pulled behind the dumpster, a retort lost on her lips as Daryl motioned for her to keep quiet. As quietly as she could, Dove moved to position herself between Daryl and the wall. Back against the dumpster, she said in a barely audible whisper, “What the fuck was that?”
“Someone’s comin,” Daryl whispered just as quietly. Before she could even think about anything else, he had jumped to his feet, crossbow raised.
“Whoa don’t shoot me,” another voice shouted as Dove jumped to her feet, “What do you want!”
“I’m looking for my brother. He’s hurt real bad, you seen em?” Daryl didn’t lower his crossbow. Dove’s gaze shifted quickly between the two men. Or rather, Daryl and the boy.
Suddenly the boy shouted in Spanish.
“Shut up! You’re gonna bring the geeks down on us! Answer me,” Daryl growled as he approached with the crossbow. Dove stepped out from behind the dumpster.
“Daryl stop it! He doesn’t know what you’re talking about,” she snapped at him. She hoped she was right. All of a sudden, the boy wouldn’t stop screaming for help. Dove ran towards Daryl just in time to see him hit the boy in the face with the crossbow. “Ah, shit.”
“Shut up,” Daryl repeated as he held a hand over the boy’s mouth. A yelp of surprise slipped through Dove’s lips as two men came barreling down the alley. The shoulder of one of the men connecting with her own as he ran past her. Her back slammed against the wall, the world started to spin as she hit her head. The crowbar was wrenched from her hand and she watched as the two men started to beat Daryl.
A quick burst of adrenaline hit her like a truck and she mumbled a quiet, “Motherfucker,” as she stumbled to her feet. The one closest held her crowbar in his hands. She took two quick steps towards him and grabbed the crowbar, her hands wrapped around the man’s own. “Stop it,” she grunted through gritted teeth as the man fought to get control of the crowbar back. The woman’s nails dug into his fingers and she thought she had it for a second before she felt the air leave her lungs. An elbow to the stomach sent her reeling back.
A commotion near the entrance to the alley stopped the two men. Her eyes went wide as she saw him. She was hoping he would have to take the other alley. One of the men screamed, “There’s the bag! Take it, take it.”
Dove shook her head and attempted to stumble to her feet again, the crowbar was close by. She thought about throwing it, but then the screams of one of the men drew her attention back. Daryl was up on his knees. He had shot the guy right in the ass. Any other time, she might have laughed. Glenn’s screams for help chilled her to the bone as she scrambled to regain her footing. Even when she did, the elbow to the stomach was really messing with her. “Glenn, run!” But it was useless, because they already had him. She was hot on Daryl’s heels as the car pulled away from the alley with Glenn and the men inside.
“Come back here! You sumbitches,” Daryl shouted as he started to pull the gate shut.
Dove tried to slip through the hole in the gate. She wanted to run after the car, run after Glenn. It was stupid and she wasn’t thinking straight, but she couldn’t let her friend die. A strong grip on her arm was the only thing that made her stop. She spun around, a wild look in her eye and met Daryl’s angry gaze as he shook his head. Dove’s attention turned back to the gate as the walkers began to pile against it. She couldn’t even hear the car anymore.
Glenn was gone.

No Control (Clyde Logan x OC) NSFW
Here’s my attempt at writing Clyde for another someone special. I’ve never wrote Clyde before, so just bear with me...
Of course, of course my car would break down, Amy thought to herself bitterly. She leant against the bonnet of her car, reaching for her phone out of her leather jacket. No signal. Yeah, course. It was 10:30pm, her car had broke down in a town she had no idea about and her phone had no signal. She groaned out in frustration, shoving her useless ass phone back in her pocket. She locked her car and started trudging down the dark road. It was obviously just her luck for all of this to happen. Next time, someone else was driving. The gravel crunched underneath her feet, as she carried on walking. She had absolutely no idea where she was walking to, but she needed to find somewhere that had a phone. It wasn’t long before she came into view of what looked like a bar. She huddled her jacket around her, approaching the bar, praying that she would be able to find a phone and call her friend. Amy peered up at the sign on top of the bar - Duck Tape. Amy thought it was a shot to see if anyone could help her. She jogged up the small steps leading to the porch. She pulled the door open and stepped into the bar. It was empty, apart from the lone bartender. He looked up from the cash register, catching eye contact with Amy.
‘Hey- uh, my car broke down and I don’t have any signal on my shitty phone- I don’t suppose you have a phone I could use?’ Amy rambled out, her breath hitching slightly as she properly took in the man standing behind the bar. Buttoned up grey shirt, dishevelled hair, he had a prosthetic arm and had a soft expression on his face.
‘Sure darlin’ He replied, nodding towards the phone on the bar. Amy gave me a small smile, walking over to the bar. Amy picked up the phone, dialling her friends number in. She waited a few seconds, but no reply.
‘Shit’ She murmured to herself, putting the phone back down and running a hand through her hair. Now what? She asked herself. She was all out of options. She sighed, turning back to the bartender.
‘Thanks for your help’ Before edging back towards the door.
‘If I may offer my assistance, my brother is a mechanic, maybe he could help ya’ll?’ He offered, placing the glasses he was cleaning on the counter. Amy paused, turning back to face him.
‘Are you sure? I wouldn’t wanna be a burden’ She confessed, giving him an awkward smile. She knew this was not the right time to think this, but he was fucking handsome. He was stirring something inside of Amy which was NOT appropriate right now. He shook his head, leaving the bar and walking towards Amy. She almost squeaked at the full size of him, he was... large.
‘Not a burden at all, darlin’. Cant’t let a pretty lady like you walk back to a broken car’ He assured, standing inches away from Amy. Would it be bad to jump his bones, Amy thought to herself. She pushed away the intrusive thought, and introduced her self.
‘I guess not- I’m Amy’ She stuck her hand out to shake his.
‘I’m Clyde’ He took Amy’s hand, shaking it lightly. Clyde.
‘Nice to meet you Clyde. So, I take it, this is your bar?’ Amy asked, looking around the little hut. Clyde nodded proudly, heading back to the bar.
‘Drink? On the house of course’ He added, smiling at Amy. Well, why not. She wasn’t exactly driving anywhere.
‘Sure, you choose’ She replied, sitting on one of the chairs at the bar. Clyde made her a drink, sliding it over to her. Amy sipped the drink, not over her earlier thoughts of wanting to jump this mans bones. Which was unusual for her, because she rarely would want to sleep with someone she had only known for 5 minutes. She glanced at him, getting caught up in pretty much staring at him. He was BUILT.
‘Are you eye fuckin me, darlin?’ Amy was completely snapped out of her meddling thoughts, as she tore her eyes away from Clyde’s body. She peeped back up, her eyes locking with Clyde’s. Heat crept instantly to her cheeks, she could feel herself getting flushed. Clyde was watching her, a smirk playing on his lips.
‘I- uh-’ Clyde shook his head, pressing his lips together not allowing Amy to protest.
‘Don’t worry, I’m not gonna lie and say I haven’t looked at you’ He assured her, raising his eyebrows. Amy’s breath hitched in her throat as she didn’t tear her eyes away from Clyde’s.
‘How lucky am I, that a pretty lady like you walked into my bar’ Clyde continued, coming back from behind the bar and heading round to Amy. Say something!
‘You can thank my shitty car for that’ Amy blurted out. She silently cussed herself. Say anything, anything other than that. Clyde chuckled lowly at her comment. Amy tried to pluck up the courage to say something back to him, because it was clear there was SOMETHING between the two of them.
‘How exactly would you like me to repay you, you know for your brother going to fix my car?’ Amy asked Clyde, swinging around on her chair so she could face him fully.
‘Well, darlin. I’m usually a gentleman, but right now, I’m thinking you let me fuck you over this bar’ Amy’s eyes widened at Clyde’s words, but she could feel herself literally getting wet at the thought.
‘Whatcha say?’ He asked Amy, closing the space between them. She bit down on her lower lip, knowing full well it’s exactly what she wanted.
‘What are you waiting for?’ That was all Clyde needed. He spun Amy off her chair, her back connecting with his chest as he bent her over the bar.
‘No control, huh?’ She teased as she could feel Clyde yanking down her jeans, along with her underwear. A smack to her ass, causing her to yelp, caught her off guard.
‘You betcha’ He grunted, Amy hearing the sound of his belt clanking to the floor. Within seconds, Clyde’s boxers were on the floor, his fingers swiping across Amy’s lips.
‘Suck them, darlin. I want you to get my fingers wet, so I can get your pussy wet’ He breathed in her ear, his draw driving her wild. Amy obeyed instantly, opening her mouth and allowing Clyde to dip his fingers into her mouth. She sucked obediently. Clyde moaned at the sensation of Amy’s tongue running across his fingers. He pulled them out, darting to her already dripping wet pussy.
‘Mm, you’re already wet. Such a dirty slut’ He murmured, causing Amy to gasp as he slid his fingers into her. He worked his fingers against Amy’s core, the feeling of her on his fingers, was making his cock twitch.
‘Shit, Clyde’ She breathed out, her hands gripping onto the bar.
‘Yeah- mm-’ Clyde stroked his cock, before grasping Amy’s hips, thrusting himself into her.
‘Fuck’ He whined, as Amy bit her lip, almost drawing blood.
‘You’re so big’ Amy choked out, feeling every inch of Clyde’s cock stuffing her. He groaned at her words, his hand coming around the base of her throat. Squeezing slightly, cutting off some of Amy’s breath.
‘You like that darlin? Mm, you like me fuckin’ you like this’ He growled, his grip on her throat not loosening.
‘Yes-’ She barely got the word out. Clyde go of her neck, his hand now entangling itself in her hair, wrenching her head back so he could look down at her.
‘Such a fuckin slut, aren’t you?’ He panted.
‘Yes sir’ She slurred out, causing Clyde to lose his mind, fucking her harder and faster. He let go of Amy’s hair, but guided her head to look across the bar. There was a mirror opposite them. She could see everything. Her hands gripping onto the bar, her face contorted into pleasure, Clyde behind her, fucking her as he fast as he could.
‘See what I’m doin to you, sweetheart?’ He rasped, keeping eye contact with Amy in the mirror.
‘You can’t cum yet, darlin. You’re taking my cock so well’ He praised, resting his head on the back of Amy’s as he thrusted into her.
‘Clyde- I can’t’ She huffed out, losing all control.
‘Beg me darlin. Let’s hear that pretty fuckin mouth of yours beg for me to let you cum’ He challenged.
‘Please- please let me cum’ Amy almost cried out.
‘More’ He demanded.
‘Fuck, Clyde. Let me cum all of your cock’ She groaned out, her vision was starting to blur.
‘Ugh, fuckin cum darlin, Cum with me’ And with those words, they both came at the same time. Both of them, sweaty hot messes. Amy attempted to regain her breathing, trying to overcome what had just happened. Clyde eventually pulled away from her, yanking his underwear and jeans back up.
‘Wait there, I’ll get you cleaned up’ Seconds later, he had a towel and was cleaning up the mess they’d both made. Amy sloppily but her underwear and jeans on, sitting back on the stool, wincing she did.
‘You okay? I didn’t hurt you, did I?’ Clyde’s expression was concerned as his hand softly pawed at your neck. Amy placed her hand over Clyde’s, holding it.
‘You didn’t hurt me, don’t worry’ She assured him, smiling lazily.
‘Good- you want to come back with me? I can lock up here, and you can get some rest before Jimmy fixes your car’ Clyde offered, hoping you’d say yes.
‘Tell your brother to take his time... I may stay for a while’

This time of the year was typically the calm before the storm.
Some would say that statement was a load of crap, given the amount of practices and training camps the Nekoma volleyball team had to attend, but for Kuroo it was relaxing.
It was a routine he would settle into and find comfort in while on the road to nationals, though he couldn’t say the same for his team.
He glanced over his shoulder, looking at the rest of the team piled into the bus bound for Fukurodani Academy.
The travel distance wasn’t ideal, and typically Nekoma hosted these sorts of practices before nationals.
But, Nekoma’s coach had made up his mind about the team attending a practice match at Fukurodani. And so began the herding of the cats.
Luckily they would be in good company; The teams were on fairly good terms with one another, so the day wouldn’t be full of fake pleasantries and awkward silences.
A monotone chirping noise followed by a mumbled curse pulled Kuroo from his thoughts and back to his seat.
He looked down at Kenma, who was now starting a new game on the handheld electronic he had brought along on the trip.
“If you start a new game you’ll just have to quit in the next 5 minutes,” Kuroo warned. He was beginning to recognize the buildings around them, meaning they would be arriving at Fukurodani soon.
“I can get through a quick round before we get there,” was Kenma’s quick reply.
Kuroo sighed dramatically before leaning on Kenma, causing him to misstep in his game and almost fall off a ledge.
“What’s the point of sitting beside you if you’re not going to talk to meeee?” he whined.
Kenma huffed, readjusting himself, “It’s better than sitting next to Lev and his snoring, isn’t it?”
Kuroo chuckled again, shaking his head slightly before relaxing into his seat.
The academy soon came into view; the sleeping teammates were woken up and multiple sighs of relief could be heard as their long journey would soon be over.
As promised, Kenma rushed through his current round on his game before turning off the handheld device and stuffing it in his jacket pocket.
The team exited the bus, hauling their gym bags over their shoulders and began making their way to the academy’s gym.
“Kurooooo!!!!”
That booming voice could only belong to one person on this campus, Kuroo thought to himself.
He greeted Bokuto with a big smile as the other captain approached him, leaving his team and coach behind at the entrance of the gym.
The two shook hands before exchanging a quick hug.
“Is there a reason you guys aren’t inside the gym waiting to get your asses kicked?” Kuroo smirked, pulling back and glancing at the Fukurodani team.
Bokuto turned to the team, offering a small awkward smile as he rubbed at the back of his neck. “Well... there was kind of a mix-up with the girl’s team... we might be sharing the gym today.”
Kuroo then noticed the team’s coach talking on his cellphone rather hastily, only to hang up with a defeated look on his face.
The old man turned to Nekoma’s coach and apologized for the change in plans.
Certain members of the team, Kuroo included, looked ecstatic at the change.
Fukurodani’ girl team was the stuff of legend. Two-time national champions in the women’s division with some of the fastest, most badass players Kuroo had seen. And they were going to get to share a gym with them?
“Their practice starts in about an hour, so we have the gym to ourselves until then.” Bokuto piped up, smiling as his coach began to unlock the gym.
The two coaches agreed to just do warmups until the other team arrived, that way once the practice match had started the girl’s team wouldn’t be interrupting the game.
Kuroo was in the middle of hitting a spike when the gym doors opened, revealing the girl’s team on the other side.
The Nekoma team paused what they were doing, observing the new faces as they entered the gym.
Then she entered. The team captain. Number 8.
She looked around the gym, face emotionless until her eyes seemed to settle on Kuroo, and she smiled.
Kuroo, for a moment, felt his heart skip a beat. He wondered why she wou-
“Gawking at my apprentice, huh?” Bokuto laughed, smacking Kuroo on his back and interrupting his train of thought.
“Apprentice?” Kuroo asked, glancing from her to Bokuto as she approached.
“Yeaaahhh, taught her everything I know. She would be hopeless without me.” He bragged, placing more emphasis on the word ‘hopeless’ than what was needed.
“Whatever helps you spike harder.” She said, placing her hands on her hips as she stood in front of the other team captains. “But I shouldn’t even give you that, since you guys stole our gym.”
“Hey hey, this is our gym too!” Bokuto objected, “We can’t let you girls hog the spotlight at nationals!”
She smirked, “Well let’s see which is more important and deserves more gym time, the boy’s team, or the two time national champions?”
Bokuto went red before she laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck in a bearhug. It left Kuroo feeling slightly awkward as the two embraced.
“You know I’m only joking.” She giggled, struggling to stay on her tip toes as Bokuto returned the hug and lifted her slightly.
The two lingered, only for a moment, before Bokuto coughed and let her go. “You don’t have to be so rude about it...”
“Talk about rude,” she huffed, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, “You haven’t even introduced me to your friend here.”
“Oh! Kuroo, this is (Y/n). (Y/n), Kuroo is the team captain of the Nekoma team!” Bokuto smiled, wrapping an arm around Kuroo.
(Y/n) smiled as Kuroo slightly shoved Bokuto before bowing.
“I know who you are, you’re kind of a legend,” Kuroo said, keeping his head bowed.
“H-hey, you don’t have to do that, “(Y/n) said, waiving for him to stand up straight.
“Riiight, (Y/n) here is from the west! The bowing makes her feel kind of awkward.” Bokuto explained, watching her bow slightly in return.
“Been here five years and still can’t really get used to it, no matter what my dad says.” She smiled awkwardly, relaxing slightly as Kuroo returned the smile.
The three were interrupted by (Y/n)’s coach calling for her to start her warmups with the team.
“Maybe we can play some matches whenever you guys are done... if the coaches are cool with it?” (Y/n) offered.
Kuroo’s heart skipped another beat. He’d have to offer the suggestion to his coach, playing a team like hers would be the practice they’d need before nationals.
Before he could respond (Y/n) was already jogging to her team and starting their warm-ups.
“She is... so much cooler in person...” Kuroo breathed, watching (Y/n) toss a couple of volleyballs to her teammates.
“Isn’t her accent funny?” Bokuto snickered, crossing his arms and nudging Kuroo.
Before either of them could continue fawning over her, they were called to begin the practice match.
Kuroo was never one to show off, at least that’s what he liked to tell himself right before he showed off, but he could tell he was spiking harder and diving faster in the practice match than he usually would.
Once Nekoma won their first set and switched sides of the court, he noticed how every now and then (Y/n) would stop to watch him play. Maybe that showing off was worth it. Just as he thought that, a ball landed right at his feet.
‘Well that was lame.’
“You can’t impress her if you don’t focus.” Kenma chastised him, his lips turned up ever so slightly into a smirk.
Kuroo sighed. “Could you say that any louder?”
“You’re the one being obvious about it.” Kenma shrugged, turning back to the other team as they began their serve.
Nekoma managed to win the match 2-1, much to Kuroo’s relief. Fukurodani was good, it was a close game.
Once the match had ended, he and Bokuto shook hands, only for (Y/n) to toss a volleyball their way.
Kuroo luckily caught it at the last second.
“Not bad,” (Y/n) smiled, almost being thrown off her balance as Bokuto went to her side and hugged her. “But let’s see how you do against their better half.”
“The coaches okayed it?” Kuroo smiled, passing the ball between his hands.
(Y/n) nodded, “On the condition that you let some of the Fukurodani boys mix in with your team. It would be unfair if poor Bokuto had to watch from the sidelines instead of get his practice time in.”
Bokuto laughed and quickly took the ball from Kuroo. “You’re on, captain!”
As Bokuto made his way to the two boys’ teams and gave them the news, Kuroo turned towards (Y/n) and crossed his arms.
“You sure you can handle us?” he smirked. “I saw you watching us play, you looked almost intimidated.”
“Like I said, you’re good.” She shrugged.
Kuroo’s smirk widened before (Y/n) leaned closer to him, rising on her tip toes so she could whisper in his ear.
“But I’m better.”
Chills.
She suddenly moved away, whistling at her team and catching their attention.
Despite the brief alliance between Bokuto’s and Kuroo’s best players, they still lost to (Y/n)’s team. It was close, but a loss is still a loss.
The teams thanked each other for the games and began lunch. The coaches agreed lunch would mark the end of the day for the teams, meaning Kuroo only had a small amount of time to continue socializing with (Y/n).
Once he had the lunch he packed in hand, he began scanning the gym for (Y/n), only to find she had disappeared.
Rather than put off his lunch, he opted to eat with his team and try to find her before they left. Halfway through his meal, Kenma revealed that he had seen (Y/n) and Bokuto go to eat their lunch outside. Once he saw Kuroo look around the gym for the 5th time that meal, he decided to put him out of his misery.
Kuroo finished his meal and tried to casually make his way outside in the direction Kenma had pointed.
Once he opened the door, he saw the two sitting right at the steps of the gym, having not noticed him.
He was prepared to make a grand entrance into their conversation but froze once he saw how (Y/n)’s shoulder’s sagged and her head hung low.
“You can’t keep working yourself like this, I always tell you to just take your time and-”
“You’re one of the most recognized aces in the nation, it’s so easy for you to say that. But you don’t really mean it.” (Y/n) interrupted Bokuto, her voice wavering slightly.
Bokuto sighed deeply, luckily not seeing Kuroo at the gym doors as he looked at (Y/n).
“So you’re really going to work your team to the bone? All cuz of a feeling you have?” he asked.
(Y/n) nodded. “If there’s anything I can do to keep us from losing this, I’m going to do it... I can’t lose this for us my last year here.”
The two went silent. Bokuto slowly brushed his hand over (Y/n)’s, prompting her to take his hand and lace her fingers with his.
Kuroo swallowed before loudly opening the door, hoping it would give the impression he had just gotten there.
The two quickly turned to him, smiles on their faces as they released each other’s hands.
“We’re getting ready to leave,” Kuroo smiled, “just wanted to thank you for the games.”
“Thanks for being such a good sport about losing to a bunch of girls.”(Y/n) teased, standing up and making her way to Kuroo. The two shook hands, sending a small jolt of electricity through Kuroo’s fingers.
“You’re not just a bunch of girls, you’re one of the top teams in the nation. Don’t sell yourself short like that.” Kuroo chuckled.
“We should get inside and say bye to their team properly.” Bokuto interrupted, causing the two to end their slightly-too-long handshake.
The teams bowed and said their goodbyes, knowing they would most likely see each other at nationals.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fukurodani would be advancing to the Spring High Tournament, there was no doubt about it. Nekoma was exhausted, the loss hit harder than the fatigue itself.
Though Kuroo had been invited to catch the rest of the match for (Y/n)’s team, he declined Bokuto’s invitation. He decided he’d rather prepare to go home than rush to the other side of the building to watch girls’ tournament with the other team.
“We obviously still need to practice,” Kuroo began, “But we played well.”
He earned no response from his teammates. He looked up at the team, all scattered throughout the locker room and staring at the television mounted on the wall behind Kuroo.
“What’s so interesting that you can’t pay attention to my post-defeat speech?” he huffed, turning to look at the tv.
The match with Fukurodani’s female team was being broadcasted on the screen, but the game was at a standstill.
Cameramen rushed to a player’s side as she cradled her ankle and sobbed shakily. The ankle was twisted and curved in an unnatural direction, the result of some probable freak accident that happened on the court.
Kuroo saw the number on her jersey before he saw her face.
Number 8.
(Y/n) squealed and sobbed, staring down at her ankle in horror as her coach tried calming her down.
The team watched as she was hoisted up onto her good foot by her coach and ushered off the court to get medical attention.
“Do you think... they’re gonna be able to do it?” Lev spoke up.
“If they do, it will have to be without their captain.” Kuroo said. He bit his lip as the camera focused on (Y/n)’s retreating figure cut to the team’s assistant coach who had stayed behind.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been a little over a year since (Y/n)’s injury. Her team had ended up losing their match and didn’t make it to nationals.
Part of Kuroo felt guilty for not going to the match. If he had gone, he would have been able to see (Y/n) in the infirmary and see if she was alright.
All he had to go off of was the sporadic text messages he received from Bokuto afterwards.
Even then, he felt awkward constantly asking about (Y/n). It was clear she and Bokuto were close, and Kuroo didn’t want to give the wrong idea.
Kuroo had only known (Y/n) not even a full day but couldn’t deny the small attraction he felt for her.
It was kind of hot knowing there was someone who could beat him in volleyball... someone he found attractive at least.
This is what his mind was wondering to his first day of University. When the gen-ed professors rattled off about the syllabus and class guidelines, he thought of the practice match against (Y/n).
Though he was no longer on a team, he knew if he joined a club at his university he would have to think of strategies and plays to make him stand out.
Just as he thought about a particular back row attack (Y/n) had executed, the door of the lecture hall he was in swung open.
The professor sent a glare in the direction of the student who had just entered but softened her gaze once the student began to apologize profusely.
The voice was familiar, and the accent stuck out more than anything.
Kuroo quickly turned to the student, his jaw almost dropping once he saw (Y/n) desperately looking around the room for an open seat.
She had been drenched by the pouring rain; she most likely had begun to walk to class unaware of the weather forecast for the day.
Her eyes settled on Kuroo, then on the empty seat beside him.
He gave her a small smile and an awkward wave.
She returned both.
“If you could please take your seat, you can look over your classmate’s syllabus. I will give you yours after class.” The professor spoke, raising an eyebrow at (Y/n).
(Y/n) took a step towards Kuroo, froze, bowed at the professor, then rushed to the seat beside him.
Kuroo couldn’t help but snicker as some rainwater dripped off (Y/n)’s hair and onto his jacket.
She whispered an apology to him, trying to maintain some distance so she wouldn’t brush off any more water on him.
He placed the syllabus to the middle of the desk, took his pen, and wrote in the white space on the paper.
-Didn’t know it was going to rain today?
(Y/n) read the small note and playfully glared at him before taking her own pen and writing back.
-Nope. Had a party last night, woke up too late to check the weather.
-Already throwing ragers?
(Y/n) couldn’t help but snort as she wrote out her reply.
-It was an apartment-warming party, jerk.
-Well now that you know we’re classmates do I get an invitation to the next party?
(Y/n) glanced up from the paper, smiling softly as Kuroo raised an eyebrow at her expectantly.
-Maybe... you were so worried about my condition, it would be rude not to.
Kuroo’s eyes went wide for a moment. Of course Bokuto would blab to her about those texts. He hadn’t even asked about her often, but it must have been enough to warrant a report from Bokuto.
Rather than bring up the game or her injury, he instead opted to make her an offer she couldn’t refuse.
-How about I walk you to your next class with my trusty umbrella?
(Y/n) smiled softly and drew a small thumbs up under his message.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So, where we headed?” Kuroo asked, sitting on the corner of the desk as (Y/n) packed her things.
“You know you really don’t have to walk me.” She smiled, keeping her eyes on her things. “I wouldn’t want to make you late to your next class.”
Kuroo shrugged, “My next class isn’t until 11. I have plenty of time.”
“Plus,” he stood up, grabbing his umbrella and following (Y/n) out of the building, “I am dying to receive an invitation to one of your parties.”
(Y/n) smiled and stopped at the main building doors, waiting for Kuroo to open the umbrella.
The two stepped out into the rain, (Y/n) pressed close to Kuroo’s side. He never said it was a big umbrella, but it got the job done.
“Well, if you can handle a drunk Bokuto then you can definitely come.” she chuckled.
Kuroo felt a small pain in his stomach. “Bokuto’s coming here to?”
“He didn’t tell you?” (Y/n) asked, allowing Kuroo to pull her closer as a crowd of students moved past the two.
“We haven't really talked since nationals...” Kuroo trailed off. He felt (Y/n)’s smaller hand grip his jacket slightly.
“Well...” she bit her lip, “he lives about 10 minutes away from campus, 5 minutes from my building. So you two will be able to reconnect.”
Kuroo stopped suddenly, earning a look of confusion from (Y/n).
“This is the campus café...” she pointed out.
“Well you never said where your building was... plus you’re shivering! I’ll buy you a coco.” Kuroo said, adding an extra sprinkle of pep to his tone. He would have liked to tell her he’d rather reconnect with her, but it was their first time seeing each other after, well, the first time they ever met.
“I really don’t have time, I’m in building C and I heard my professor is kind of a freak about people being on time.” (Y/n) sighed.
Kuroo reluctantly turned from the café and continued on with (Y/n), trying to fill the void with small talk about class and the university. Once they arrived at Building C, (Y/n) was about to walk in when a heavy weight was placed on her shoulders.
She looked from the thick jacket to Kuroo, who smiled and shrugged at her. “Since you didn’t accept my coco, take me jacket to warm up. If you get sick you can’t host any parties.”
(Y/n) tried to refuse, only for Kuroo to start walking away.
“Wait!”
“Nope, not taking it back!”
“I need your phone number!”
oh...
Kuroo quickly turned around and jogged back to her. Rather than handing him her phone, she gently took his hand and began writing her number on his palm with a sharpie she pulled from her bag.
Kuroo wouldn’t help but smile softly to himself at the sight of his larger hand in hers. God, he was never this soft or this sappy, what was she doing to him.
“I’ll talk to you later... you can buy me a hot chocolate next time it rains.” She said. Without another word she turned towards the building and ran inside.
Kuroo looked back and forth between her retreating form and the number on his hand.
He really should have gotten that number a year ago, but better late than never.

Rebel Yell- 1
Summary: Let’s get something straight: he does not love you. He knows that for sure, because he doesn’t want to scream at you and he doesn’t want to get married, and that’s the only things he knows for sure about people who are in love. And he was doomed to kiss with his fists and scream and be angry and blame everyone but himself for the rest of his life. So, no. Billy did not love you. Billy Hargrove x Hopper!Reader
Word Count: 2079
AN: Hey all! Just a forward for this series, it does follow s2 kind of. Also, I have 8 parts currently written and it’s... it’s gonna be a long one, ya’ll.
It’s snowing, inside the trailer. The fluttering, gentle flakes kissing the furniture and disappearing against fabric and wood. Above, the colorful strings of lights twinkle to the distorted tune of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. It’s quiet, dark, peaceful.
Why, then, are you so afraid?
The lights flicker, the electric buzz bleeding into something far more sinister. A hiss. A growl. The snowflakes aren’t snow at all, but ash. The smell of gasoline replaces any hint of gingerbread. The growling grows louder, the lights match the speed of your racing heart. The lights fall like a rainbow on your face, but everytime they flash off, a dark shadow lingers over you. It stretches up the wall and ceiling, until there’s nothing left but long, crooked limbs and a blossoming head, it’s mouth open and hungry.
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
You jerk awake, snapping like a rubber band back into reality, where the only flickering light is the alarm clock by your bed. It takes a second for you to catch up, breathing the stale smell of the trailer- no gasoline or gingerbread or fear- and look at the clock. It’s 5:22, and the world is still asleep.
Shoving the covers off, you sit up, rubbing your palms in your eyes like you can blur away the nightmare. Stuffing your feet into your boots, the laces drag the ground as you shuffle quietly to the back door. The October air is welcoming on your skin, wiping away the sweat stuck to your forehead and shushing away your fears like a comforting kiss. A cigarette in hand, the smoke drifts towards the west, where your back deck overlooks the lake, and disappears into the night sky.
Always darkest, you think. Just before dawn.
It takes three cigarettes before the sun starts to rise. Birds begin to stretch their wings, chirping from the woods beyond the lake. Smothering the butts on the deck railing, you flick the last one over the side and slip back through the door. When it closes behind you, the sounds of morning are replaced by the sounds of sleep.
The snoring is muffled by the pillow over his head, held there by a limp arm. His legs stick out over the other end of the couch, all of it sinking under his weight. There’s a bottle, hanging limply in his other hand, two more on the table. Sighing, you reach toward him and tug gently on the pillow.
“Dad.” Your voice is a harsh whisper, no louder than his snores, and you clear your throat to swallow the remnants of sleep and smoke. “Dad, get up.”
He hugs the pillow tighter, a dragonesque snore pulling from his lips. You let go, frowning down at him, and grab the curtain on the window overhead. Pulling it open, the light spills over his sleeping form and the literred table.
“We’re both gonna be late,” louder this time, you grab up the empty bottles and clang them together. The snore turns into a groan turns into a sigh, and he throws the pillow onto the floor as you move toward the kitchen. “It’s Monday, Dad.”
“You’re insufferable,” he mumbled, the couch protesting loudly as he pushes himself up. “Who taught you to be so damn responsible?”
“Must’ve been Mom,” you shrug, turning the knobs on the stove as he lumbers toward the bathroom.
“Must’ve been.”
Seven thirty, the world is brighter and you’re both climbing into the car marked ‘Hawkins Police Dept.’ Warm air floods the vehicle as he pulls onto the road, driving straight toward the growing sun.
“You ready for that chemistry test?” One hand on the wheel, his eyes flickered over, trying to read your expression in the reflection of the window.
“Test was last week,” you said. Jim Hopper looks back at the dirty windshield, tapping his thumb on the wheel to the faint music coming from the dash.
“Really? How, uh, how’d it go?”
“Got a C.”
He doesn’t know if he should be disappointed or proud, but he nods anyway. “How ‘bout everything else? Grades look okay?”
“They’re fine,” you answer, tracing shapes on the car window. Even with the heat on, the windows fog over and it feels like winter. “Nancy wants to go to this Halloween party tomorrow.”
“Oh yeah? A party, huh?”
“Yeah,” you breathe on the glass, blurring out the frowning doodles. “We were thinking I’d spend the night with her after.”
Jim flicks the turn signal, pausing at a stop sign. “Just you and Nancy?”
“Yes, Dad. Just me and Nancy.”
“Where’s the party?”
“Tina’s.”
Jim frowns. Which one was Tina, again? Was she one of the ones he liked? “You’ll call when you make it to Nancy’s?”
“Yeah, okay. Does that mean I can go?” The car stops outside of Hawkins High School. Groups of students make their way toward the doors, books in hand and bags over their shoulders. Jim puts the car in park as you reach for the handle.
“Just don’t forget to call.”
The door slams shut behind you, your eyes already looking for a familiar BMW as you cross the gravel lot. A flash of blue, a dash of pink, and you recognize Steve and Nancy standing out of the car. Nancy spots you first, raising her hand to get your attention as you skid down the hill toward them.
The purr of a hot engine and squealing tires makes you pause at the edge of the lot. A midnight blue Camaro separates you from Nancy and Steve, blaring a song you’d heard a million times on your own stereo. It parks and the doors swing open. A red headed girl hops out of the passenger’s seat, points a skateboard for the middle school, and is gone.
The driver moves slower, one boot out and then the other, and when he stands tall, he’s nothing you had seen at Hawkins before. You would have recognized the denim-on-denim, steel-horse cowboy if you had seen him before.
The stranger pauses to look around, surveying the area like a wolf searching for prey. He turns on the spot, just enough for you to get a good look at his face. His jaw is square, a barely-there stubble over his cheeks and above wine red lips. He’s soft, with rough edges and sharp blue eyes. And when he walks away, he swaggers like a rockstar on stage.
“Who is that?”
“I have no idea-“
The moment passes, and you skip across the lot toward Nancy and Steve.
“Sorry I’m late,” you sigh, shifting the weight of your backpack. “Overslept.”
The three of you start for the school, following the steady stream of students through the halls. You shoulder pressed tight to Nancy’s, slipping through a doorway where Tina was handing out bright orange fliers for her party.
“Y/N,” Nancy pauses where the hall splits in three directions, tugging your sleeve. “You’re coming tonight, right? We can’t cancel again.”
You nod, moving toward your locker. “Yeah, I’ll be there.”
Satisfied, Nancy allows Steve to drag her off, the two of them disappearing into the flood of students. Turning back around, you twist open the lock on your locker and start unloading your books on the shelf, shoving the backpack to the bottom, on top of a pile of forgotten homework and clothes. Glancing up, you catch sight of the photograph pinned to the inside of the door.
You’re smiling, in the photo. A Polaroid taken at a carnival, you’re holding an ice cream cone and making a peace sign. Nancy holds her own cone, that cotton candy smile plastered on her rosy cheeks. On the other side of her, Barbara Holland is laughing.
It’s overcast when the last bell rings and students begin pouring out onto the asphalt. Leaves crunch under your feet as you weave between huddles of teenagers and their cars, searching absently for a familiar BMW. The click of wheels on the pavement behind you caught your attention, and you turned to see the redhead standing on the board, heading toward you as you passed by Tommy H’s car. The tail lights of the car flashed, and before you could warn the preteen, the car backed up and knocked her flat on her back. The skateboard slid under the car and came out the other side, hitting you in the foot as Tommy slammed on his brakes.
“Watch it, little twerp!” Carol leaned out the passenger window, sneering down at where the girl sprawled on the pavement. She clamored to her feet as you grabbed the skateboard off the ground.
“Shove it up your ass, Carol!” You hip checked the back of Tommy’s car as you rounded it, jostling her, and ignored the middle finger she sent you as you helped the middle schooler to her feet. Tommy backed up as soon as you both were clear, wheels churning dust as they peeled out of the lot.
“You okay, red?” She nodded, face flushed as red as her hair as she took the board back from you. “Hey, you’re the new kid, right?”
She rolled her eyes. “Yeah, I guess. It’s, uh, I’m Max.”
“Sorry, Max. Small town, word gets around. You can call me Hopper. Everyone does.”
Max flashes a quick smile before turning the board over to inspect it. “Crap, one of my bearings broke.”
Following her line of sight, you peer at the cracked piece of metal attached to the wheel. “Shit, I’m sorry. I don’t think Melvald’s carries anything like that, but I bet you can get them to order one.”
“Melvald’s? Where’s that?”
“Downtown, right by Radio Shack. It’s near the Palace Arcade, too, if that’s your kind of thing.”
Max smiles, tucking the board under her arm. “Thanks,” she says. Her smile vanishes, her eyes trained somewhere over your shoulder. You turn, spotting the familiar blue eyes watching you from beside the Camaro. “I better go before I get left behind. Can’t skate home without a board.”
“Yeah,” you mumble, adjusting the backpack on your shoulder. “What’s he, like your brother or something?”
Max snorted. “Or something.”
Max waved a half-hearted goodbye and you watched after her a moment as she neared the car before you continued your search for Steve or his notoriously loud BMW.
“Who were you talking to?”
Max rolled her eyes, yanking the passenger door open. “Nobody.”
“Nobody?”
The doors slammed and the car came to life, music blaring from the radio as the car reversed and swung out of the lot. “Just some girl.”
Barbara’s parents welcome you, Nancy and Steve into their home, each week, with hopeful smiles. All of you, seated around the flowery table with your plates loaded with take-out chicken, chatting lightly about things that don’t matter. The table behind you is decorated with various mismatched frames, all of them photos of Barb, and you keep looking at them like her eyes, all pairs, some behind thick glasses, others young and carefree, all watching you. Like they know the secret that you, Nancy and Steve have been keeping the better part of a year.
Barbara Holland was dead. You knew this. Steve knew. Nancy knew. Others, too, but it was still somehow something that was guised under Missing. There was nothing ‘Missing.’ There were no footprints to follow. Barbara Holland was dead, but her parents still held the door open for the three of you, still held out hope that someday their daughter would come home.
“It means we’re going to find our Barb,” Mrs. Holland was saying.
You stuck your fork into the macaroni and cheese. Nancy and Steve exchanged looks.
“For the first time in a long time, we’re hopeful.”
Nancy slipped away from the table, disappearing into the bathroom. Steve cleared his throat, trying to retain a semblance of normalcy with the Hollands. You didn’t look up, staring hard at the barely-touched plate in front of you.
Hawkins had not been the same since last November. Things had changed, forever tainted by the things that had happened. Will Byers disappeared and seemingly came back from the dead. Barbara Holland was taken and did not come back. Monsters proved themselves to be very real, and not the kind you had seen under your bed and in your closet in your youth. In short, life in Hawkins, Indiana, had been completely turned upside down.

Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Series Masterlist
Y/N woke up in pain. It’s probably because I had to throw up the water in my lungs, she thought bitterly. It was an awful pain that she never wanted to relieve again. The next pain that ranked up there in the worst pain she’s known was the thrumming in her head and the excruciating pain in her wrist.
She groaned, her uninjured hand reaching up to feel the back of her head. She winced at the tender flesh and could feel her pulse through the spot on her head. Strangely she felt little plastic like strings- stitches she realized. That couldn’t be right.
That dawned on her that she was laying on something too soft to be the grass in someplace too quiet to be beside the river. A flash of black and vivid gray shot across her memory, the shape fuzzy and strange.
Blearily, Y/N opened her eyes. She was alarmed, but also incredibly confused that she was sitting in what looked like a doctor’s office. The walls were bare apart from a beautiful portrait of a mountain in a dark frame. Pulling her gaze from the picture, she looked around the room to take the unassuming room in. The door clicked open and a woman with blazing red hair stepped in.
She glanced up from the clipboard in her hand, rooted in spot when she saw Y/N awake and alert. A look of relief washed over her face and the woman went to shout down the hall.
“She’s up!”
Y/N frowned, her heart rate picking up as the panic began to settle in. She had no idea who this woman was or even where she was for that matter. Nope, not good. Her eyes darted to the window and back to the door before she looked back at the woman.
“Oh, hey. No, it’s okay. I’m a friend I swear.” The woman soothed and grabbed the little stool on wheels next to a set of cabinets. She rolled it up next to the bed, her eyes soft but wary. “My name’s Natasha. You’re in our medical cabin where you were brought after you were pulled out of the river. You were in pretty rough shape. You had a gash on your forehead that needed to be stitched up and your wrist has a pretty bad fracture.” Natasha explained. Slowly, she reached out to Y/N, ready to pull back in case the young woman panicked further. “I’m going to help you sit up, okay?”
Y/N nodded, thankful for some help while her body trembled from the shock of it all. Careful of her wrist, Natasha helped her leaned her back against the wall and swung her legs out in front of her. As she did that, a man with a white coat walked in. He greeted Y/N warmly with a smile before he went to the sink to wash his hands.
“Good to see you up.” He said. “We were getting worried for a second there.”
He grabbed a pen from his coat pocket, a little flashlight she realized when he clicked one end, and stepped up in front of her. He instructed her to look at the light to check her pupil's dilations. Once satisfied, he turned and carefully took the IV drip from her arm and bandaged it up before she had time to blink.
“I’m Dr. Banner, but you can call me Bruce.” He grinned. “What should we call you?”
“Y/N,” She replied softly. She winced at the burn in her throat. Bruce noticed and motioned for Natasha to get her a cup of water.
“And what year is it?”
“2019?”
“Correct. Well Y/N I wish we could have met under better circumstances. But I’m happy to report that you’ve lucked out and don’t have a very serious concussion. You’ll probably be good here in a few days, but I still want to check in on your progress from time to time.”
“O-okay?” Y/N said uncertainly. She took a sip from the cup Natasha handed her, still utterly confused. “Um… Where am I exactly?”
“Oh! You’re in Blackhollow, just a little way north of the reserve. We’re the closest place that has the facilities to handle your situation, so you were brought here.” He responded from the clipboard Natasha walked in with. Y/N’s face scrunched in confusion, both with who could have brought her here and where Blackhollow was.
She had gone over the map of the area countless times until she was certain she had it memorized. Absolutely nowhere was there a place called Blackhollow. Especially not north of the reserve. That she knew for a fact was all protect lands and there shouldn’t be places like this around the area. No one was allowed to break the land and build something here. Biting her tongue, Y/N watched the two warily, sipping on the water to hide her nerves.
“I’m sure you're curious about the state of your wrist right now,” Bruce began, setting the clipboard down. “Natasha can you go grab some pain meds for her while I do that? Oh, and let Bucky know our patients awake.”
“Sure thing.” Natasha was already up and out of the door faster than Y/N had time to process.
“Wait, who’s Bucky?” She asked Bruce, who was now pulling out a set of x-rays from a folder. It caused her to pause, wondering when the heck they did those on her. “And how long was I out?”
“Bucky was the man who found you and pulled you out of the river,” Bruce explained and slid the x-rays on the lightbox. “And you’ve only been out for a few hours. We were about to have to get you in a car and take you to a nearby hospital to get you checked out if you didn’t wake up sooner. Fortunately, that didn’t need to happen.”
“Oh,” Y/N murmured and eyed the x-rays. “H-how did Bucky find me?”
Bruce shrugged, seemingly unbothered by that lack of information.
“He never said. Just that he pulled you out and brought you here. Although I am curious, how did you managed to fall the river?”
Y/N felt her face grow hot from embarrassment. She might be fuzzy on certain details afterward, but she definitely remembered that. Positively humiliated, she mumbled her story of how she was dive-bombed by two stupid birds and practically threw herself into the river to not lose an eyeball. Bruce at least tried to hide his grin by turning back to the x-ray.
“Well I’m sorry that happened but I’m glad you’re okay.” He said sincerely over his shoulder. “Let me go over your x-ray and then maybe Natasha will be back with some pain meds by now. I didn’t want to give you anything in case you were allergic.”
Y/N nodded and slowly stood, mindful of her wrist as she pushed off the bed. Bruce kept a careful eye on her, watching for any signs she might have a dizzy spell from standing. Her head hurt, well more like throbbed because of the concussion, but she didn’t want to throw up because of the spinning room. Confident enough in herself, Y/N walked over to stand beside Bruce and the x-rays.
He carefully explained the fracture and what might happen if she were to take the splint off. Not terribly keen on getting surgery, Y/N knew she’d be in some pain for some time until it healed. It also meant she’d have to explain to her mother why she got hurt and she already knew she was never going to hear the end of it. Y/N cringed and glanced at her wrist.
“Don’t worry too much about it. Accidents happen. I’m just glad Bucky pulled you out when he did.” Bruce tried to reassure her, somehow knowing she was starting to dread the future repercussions of her accident.
He was partly right. It was an accident, but she also kind of asked for it by standing too close to the edge. She stared guiltily at the wall, her shoulders dropping.
Bruce frowned and clicked the lightbox off. Before he could say anything else, there was a gentle knock at the door. Natasha opened the door and stepped in, a bottle of water in one hand and a cup with a few pills in the other.
“Take these, they’ll help your head and your wrist. I’ll make sure you have some for later.” Natasha instructed and passed her the little cup. “You can’t take any for another 8 hours and you shouldn’t drink anything while on them. And driving is out of the questions as well, at least until we know how you handle the medicine.”
Nodding mutely, Y/N took the pills, ready for her wrist to finally stop throbbing.
“I’ve gone ahead and sent Bucky to the main house. He’s going to get you some food started, we figured you haven’t eaten in a while.” Natasha said over her shoulder as she began to set out disinfectant wipes for the exam table. She wasn’t going to mention the reason why she sent him over was to cool down from his talk with Steve. Y/N didn’t need to meet that side of him, especially not for the first time. “I’ll walk you over and introduce you. He’s pretty anxious to know how you're doing.”
“O-oh, okay.” Y/N blinked. Natasha grinned and motioned her to follow. Y/N turned to Bruce, who had taken up the cleaning duty and waved goodbye. “Thank you, for everything. I’ll probably see you later?”
“Yes. I’ll check in on you in a little while to see how your feeling. Goodbye, Y/N.” Bruce chuckled and waved her off with a happy grin.
Natasha led her out of the medical cabin through a side door and down a dirt road. Y/N took a quick glance around the area, surprised at how seamlessly the cabin seemed to blend in with the forest. She picked up her pace, not wanting to be left behind in a strange place.
“So how long has this been here?” Y/N asked curiously.
“That’s a bit of a newer addition, maybe two years?” Natasha replied. “We don’t usually need it all that often, but on occasion, someone breaks an arm or something and we got tired having to drive an hour towards the nearest hospital.”
“Oh,” Y/N muttered lamely. “And there’s a main house?”
“Yes, it was the first house built here in the area and slowly as others came to settle here, more homes were built. The main house is used as kind of the common area, or any time we need to have meetings we all meet up there.”
“So like a city hall?”
“Kind of,” Natasha shrugged, “We don’t really consider this a city, hell it’s not even much of a town. But yeah, it kind of works that way.”
“So,” Y/N frowned, still a little confused. “Is-… Would you consider this more of a settlement?”
Natasha looked over her shoulder to Y/N, her brow raised. A guarded expression flashed across her face and for a second Y/N thought she’d tell her to mind her business. Natasha, however, let out a heavy sigh and turned back to face the road.
“In a way, I suppose.”
Y/N fell silent, not entirely certain what else to say. She didn’t want to step on Natasha’s toes any more than she was already had. Clearly, the topic of whatever Blackhollow was, was a touchy subject. She still had several questions, but Y/N thought it might be a good idea to wait and ask someone else.
The road wound through the trees, finally connecting with another road to a form a ‘t’. The left went around a sharp curve while the right went straight and disappeared through the trees. Natasha stopped short, and Y/N nearly slammed into the back of her. She stumbled and let out a surprised squeak.
“Sorry,” Natasha said and turned to face Y/N. “Before we go any further though, I need to explain a few things to you.”
“O-kay?” Y/N replied uncertainly, her eyes darting around the unassuming-looking road. Natasha took in a heavy breath before speaking.
“Blackhollow isn’t a town like you’re used to. We like to keep to ourselves, it’s one of the reasons why we’re where we are.” Natasha began seriously. “A lot of the people here won’t take kindly to you being here and might try to scare you off. If you feel like you’re being threatened, you probably are.”
“What-?” Y/N’s eyebrows shot up and her eyes went wide, but Natasha kept going.
“I’m not saying this to freak you out, but you need to understand. We’re a different breed out here. A little bit more dangerous and rougher around the edges. We like our privacy and do things a certain way.” Natasha continued with her face blank. Y/N was at a loss for words, completely thrown for a loop.
Now she was nervous, not like she wasn’t before, but now it was tenfold. Her instincts were screaming at her to make a break for it, to run somewhere else other than were ever Natasha was leading her. Of course, there was the problem that Y/N had no idea where she was, and all the trees looked the same so the possibility of her running in circles was fairly high.
“Ordinarily I’d say, ‘so long as you follow the rules, the others shouldn’t bother you’,” Natasha looked Y/N up and down, tilting her head to the side as she contemplated something. “But, something’s different about you. Don’t know what, don’t really care. All I know is if someone tries to chest up you, you better stand your ground.”
“’C-chest up’ me?” Y/N gaped. Natasha chuckled again and turned to take the left route and began to head down the road. Not really wanting to be left alone in the woods as the sun was beginning to set, Y/N reluctantly followed.
“Yep, kind of phrase we use around here. Pretty much it’s when someone gets in your face and tries to puff out their chest.” Natasha explained, showing her what she meant by pulling back her shoulders and jutting her chin out. “A lot of the time it’s to see if the other persons willing to get in a fight or not. More often than not its all for show.”
Y/N squinted at Natasha in disbelief. No way this could be real. I mean, do people really act like this around here? She thought to herself. But Natasha hadn’t done anything to make Y/N question her yet.
Natasha sent Y/N one more wide grin before she turned a sharp curve. Y/N sighed and glanced around the trees for a moment before turning back to where Natasha went. However, when she turned the same curve in the road, Natasha was gone and something else that lay in front of her that caught her off guard.
There was a giant clearing where the road suddenly faded off, huge and very out of place for the middle of the forest. It was nothing but a giant open field up against the mountain with the occasional trees scattered in the area. She could see the sky above, the fading light shining on the peculiar empty field.
She was also surprised to see how close they were to the mountain. It helped that she spent time learning the map before coming and now she had a better idea of where she was. She was miles from the campsite if she guessed right. Worse still, there was no sign of Natasha.
Her heart stopped. Y/N’s steps falter as her eyes darted around the clearing. A prickling feeling began growing in the back of her head. Everything nerve in her body was screaming at her to turn away, to run and not look back. It was suffocating, making it harder to breathe. It was clawing at her throat, trying to get out in a scream. She hesitated in her next step, finding it harder and harder to ignore the overwhelming sense of fear. The noise in her head grew louder and louder, sweat starting to bead across her forehead. She didn’t want to keep going, but she also needed to find Natasha.
Taking in a deep breath, Y/N tried to shove aside the terror inside her and took two steps forward. The voice was at its crescendo, making her knees grow week and her head pulsed in pain. The hair on her neck stood on its end, once again Y/N questioned her sanity. But something else was telling her to do this. She was stronger than whatever this was. Blindly following the little voice that tried to soothe her through the screams of fright, Y/N willed herself to take one more step with her eyes clenched shut. The relief was instantaneous. It was like the bubble burst and the scream ceased to exist. Cracking an eye open, Y/N gasped.
Natasha stood right in front of her, a proud smile on her face. If her sudden appearance wasn’t surprising enough, it’s what was behind the woman that was the icing to the cake.
In what used to be the wide clearing were several quaint little homes, all set up along the road that mysteriously appeared under her feet. It winded along, and up the mountain, disappearing further from sight. She could see more houses up the mountain as well, speckled in the densely wooded forest. Her mouth fell open in shock, her brain reeling to find an explanation.
“I-I-Wh-. But this-. Wait-.” Y/N stammered, unable to form any coherent words. Natasha laughed, light and airy despite the situation. It was enough to bring Y/N back with a snap. “What the actual fuck?!”
“There’s a lot I can’t explain. Not yet.” Natasha beamed and walked to Y/N side. She loped her arm through Y/N’s and started to walk towards the biggest house in the middle, practically dragging the stunned woman with. It must have been the main house, from its placement and all. What was even more peculiar was the strange wooden people that stood directly in front of it. “But you’re not crazy. If that helps.”
“I don’t think that will.” Y/N uttered, unable to stop from looking around. There were a few people standing around, in what she thought might be the front of their homes. They stared, some with confusion on their faces while others seemed passive. No one dared to step closer and greet the newcomer though, which did little to ease Y/N’s nerves. “What the actual fuck?”
Natasha snorted, finding the entire thing rather comical. Y/N shot her a glare.
“It’s not funny. What the fuck was that?”
“Wow, you’re pretty colorful when you’re in shock huh?” Natasha giggled. She went to walk around the pole, but Y/N stopped short.
Now that she was closer, Y/N realized it wasn’t just a wooden pillar in the ground. Towering high above was an intricately decorated totem pole, the paint, and carvings still distinct despite being in the open. In fact, it looked almost untouched by the test of time. She couldn’t tell if there was a story, but she recognized a bird, a wolf, and a bear among some of the animals. It seemed to hum with an energy Y/N couldn’t place, almost as if it was calling her to step closer.
“That’s been here since before I could remember,” Natasha said. Y/N blinked, the sudden interruption tearing her from the haze.
“O-oh.” Y/N cleared her throat and took a step back. If Natasha noticed the strange shift in Y/N, she didn’t comment. She ushered Y/N towards the step of the house by taking her arm back in hers. Y/N’s head swiveled around to stare back at the totem pole, thoroughly puzzled by the feeling she was getting from it. She eyed the strange markings on the back and had to do a double-take. It looked as if the marking began to glow and pulse, the grass bending with the ripple.
Nope, she denied. It’s gotta be the conclusion. That why I’m seeing things. Yep, lets just call it that.
Y/N didn’t know how much more she could take of this strange venture and as she stepped into the house that wasn’t there five minutes ago, she wondered just how much more was going to get thrown her way.
