actually uhh... the rep era secret sessions post... uh, kind of reminds me of V for a Vendetta... it’s a lot like V for Vendetta all this—

this plot summary is strictly based on the movie and not the comic... i’ll probably get a lotta details wrong but this will give you a general idea.and i’m going to skip over the guy fawkes mask screencaps just because it’s become it’s own thing and i want to stay in my lane in that regard..

- Evey, an employee of state run media in a dystopian England, is captured by secret police. a mysterious figure in a Guy Fawkes mask who goes by the name of V rescues Evey and takes her to their home and is more or less held captive although V is a great chef and moreover pleasant aside from being a vigilante.

- at some point Evey escapes and visits her mentor at work. her mentor shows his hidden collection of prohibited materials that the government suppresses.

- there is a raid at the mentor’s house and Evey is captured and tortured and lead to believe she is being held a prisoner of the government when in fact she is being kept by V themself in their home.

- “She is imprisoned and tortured for information about V, with her only solace being a note written by actress Valerie Page, a former prisoner who was tortured and killed for her lesbianism.” (from wikipedia). in her destitute conditions, the idea of a true love that meant something, even if forbidden, gives her the will to live.

- “Evey is told she will be executed unless she reveals V's location. When she says she would rather die, she is inexplicably released, and then finds herself in V's home. It turns out that V was the one who had "captured" her” (from wikipedia)

- Evey is radicalized and sort of like, well, V dies along the way and Evey organizes everyone in the city to take down the government on the 5th of November and everyone wears guy fawkes masks in solidarity

- at the end of the movie “Evey is asked for V's identity, to which she replies, "He was all of us." “ (Wikipedia)

- though in the movie V is by all accounts a man, many fans of the series have theorized V is in fact Valerie Page, the lesbian who penned the love letter that gave Evey hope through imprisionment

so i dunno... the whole like, the most genuine and earnest swifties being chosen and taken to Taylor’s home and making a personal connection with her.. and us gaylors are kinda like the renegade TV announcer, revealing truths to them... and then Taylor sort of “betraying” them (in this case feeding them the false narrative and making them defend it against us which is... torture i am sure) but through it all they find solace in the idea of her being in love despite all odds... and then they are radicalized to expose the truths of celebrity culture... and they get to save the world... upend institutions... in november... yeah.... just getting some similar vibes.... 😌 don’t mind me...
