Final Season Spec Game
Iâm out of tag games to speculate on season 7, so here we are! I wanted to keep these questions mostly upbeat (because we all know how this show can be sometimes lol weâre in for angst for sure đ) and thereâs 16 of them, one for each remaining ep! Feel free to play along everybody⌠Stay safe! đ
I swiped this from @katersannâ - great questions!
1. Which character are you most excited to learn the endgame of:Â
Thereâs only a handful of characters I truly care about anymore, and there will always be one that rises above the rest -
Obviously next season is going to feature the Anomaly in a big way, and since that whole thing seems deeply connected to Octavia, I think we can safely assume that this will be a big season for her. I hope she makes it out alive, but on some level, I wonât be surprised if she doesnât. Going out in a blaze of glory was always more her style. I think thatâs true even now.
2. Which character are you most excited to learn the backstory of:Â
Iâm definitely curious about Hope Diyoza. The fact that she and Octavia appeared to know each other in the s6 finale has huge implications. And Iâm sure her life has been really fuckinâ interesting - with a mother like Charmaine, how couldnât it be?
3. One character who deserves a new look:Â
Madi!
Sheâs not a scrappy forest child anymore, nor is she a Baby Warlord. Iâd love to see her in anything but leather (or a hospital gown, yikes.) I donât know how central to the main plot sheâll be, since she no longer has The Flame, but I do hope we get to see something about her trying to become a semi-normal kid.
4. Two locations you want to revisit:Â
If I had my druthers, Iâd love to see the Dropship again. It was such a central location in the first two seasons, and one of the things thatâs been tough for me since the second Praimfaya has been how we lost all those iconic locations.Â
I also really loved the look of Shallow Valley aka Eden. A very cute, aesthetically pleasing location, gone too soon.
5. Three brotps you hope get more screentime:Â
Octavia and Diyoza!
(Technically a Brot3 but just try and stop me!) Raven, Murphy, and Emori!
Raven and Echo!
6. Who will get the happiest ending:Â
Honestly a tough call, because I donât know if anyone will truly get a âhappyâ ending. If I had to guess, Raven and Echo are actually pretty high up there. As long as they both survive the season, I think theyâll finally find some peace on the other side.
7. Which minor or new characters you want to see more of:Â
Given that Jordan was a series regular last season, we saw a LOT less of him than I expected. I think heâs going to be an unexpected antagonist in the final season, which should be a lot of fun.
8. Who will eventually snap Jordan out of the funk we see him in, at the end of 6x13:Â
Agh, I donât know. He didnât really get a chance to connect with any of his parentsâ old friends, did he? The deepest connection he made was with Delilah, and sheâs dead and gone - but I donât think he believes that, I think heâs fully swallowed the Sanctum juice at this point. I could maybe see Raven snapping him out of it, or Bellamy. If itâs not them, itâll definitely be some message from Marper somehow. Or, tragically, he wonât make it out of the funk. Iâll be really mad if that happens, given who his namesake was. The Jordan curse.
9. Who will be the first to tell Bellamy he canât immediately run into the Anomaly after Octavia:Â
Oddly enough, my money is on Hope. And I think Bellamy will immediately distrust her and try to go anyway, but Echo will ultimately stop him.
10. To reference Montyâs âdo betterâ mantra:Â
Iâd like to hear it from Murphy, to be honest, or Emori. I donât think it was necessarily Clarkeâs right to take so much ownership of that one, last season.
11. To say 'go float yourselfâ:Â
I hope I hear it from the mouth of every single (former) Delinquent, lmao. Itâd actually be hilarious if someone like Emori or Echo said it, though. Show how itâs left the Ark as slang and entered the general parlance.Â
12. Random object or prop you would bring back for Season 7 if you could:Â
Lexaâs throne/Clarkeâs walking stick. I really fuckinâ loved that little callback, yâall. Clarke leaning on a piece of Lexa to make it through her time in isolation - ugh, murder me. Even if it isnât a major plot point, Iâd like to see it in the background somewhere. I donât think it made it off Earth, though.
13. Book One storyline/reference you want to see back for Season 7:Â
Weâve got 16 episodes, right? Bring back my funny fillers! I know they werenât common, and werenât 100% funny, but Iâd love to see an episode like âDay Tripâ again.
14. Dead character you would like mentioned:Â
Lincoln, Anya, and Nyko. Pay respect to the OG grounders. Even if itâs just in passing.
15. How do you think Hope and Octavia know each other (from season 6):Â
Thereâs been a lot of speculation about what this face was meant to imply -
Personally, when I look at Octaviaâs face, I see an entire goddamn story. Itâs a story I might fully be projecting, but Iâm going with my gut until proven otherwise. Octavia helped raise Hope. When she sees her, she looks at her the way one might a kid they havenât seen in a long time - thereâs surprise, tenderness, pride. A moment of almost not recognizing her, then realization thatâs sheâs the a kid she loves, all-grown-up now, and thatâs what makes her emotional.
My other theory is that Octavia didnât remember Hope at all until she saw her, which is why she looks confused, then surprised, then happy. Sheâs suddenly remembering a person who is very important to her, who she had forgotten (likely due to the timey-wimey/doorway weirdness of the Anomaly) and all of her memories coming back is what causes this reaction.
Iâm reasonably certain that there wonât be any romantic attachment between them. As much as Iâd love it, I just donât see the show making Octavia explicitly sapphic so late in the game. One of the consequences of trying to create a world where sexual orientation doesnât matter is that the writers tend to beat us over the head with what type of person each character is attracted to - thatâs why we see Clarke and Niylah together multiple times, and why Clarke and Cillian got together. The writers want us to remember, always, without subtlety, that Clarke likes both men and women.
We just havenât seen any real clues that Octavia is attracted to women. As much as Iâm pulling for it, itâs clear that the writers intend her relationship with Niylah to be platonic.Â
So, given all of that, I just donât think Hope and Octavia will be a romantic couple.
That only leaves us with so many options - either they were friends or like family. Given the weirdness of Diyoza going into the Anomaly pregnant and her fully grown daughter stepping out of it three days later, my money is on like family. I think Octavia and Diyoza raised Hope together in the Anomaly, somehow, and thatâs how they know each other.
16. How do you think it all will end?:Â
I think it will have a lot to do with the backdoor pilot, how much that retcons, and how committed they are to giving this show a satisfying ending when theyâve already creatively moved on to a new world.
If I pretend I donât know about the backdoor pilot, Iâm even less sure. Iâm hoping for a satisyfing ending. Not a happy one. I donât think that would be true to the series.
Iâm betting either Clarke or Bellamy dies, and my money has been on Bellamy for awhile. Call it a gut feeling.Â
I think almost everyone else will survive. Weâve lost a lot of people along the way in this show, and I think theyâll give us one Big Death of the season, so that death has the greatest impact. And since Iâm betting on it being Bellamy, well... that means Iâm pretty sure everyone else will make it.
Thereâs been a lot of little background info dropped about how impossible life on Sanctum is without constant maintenance, and most if not all of that maintenance came from the more-or-less free labor of the people serving the Primes. Itâs impossible to know how things will go in terms of Emori and Murphy being Primes now, and how long that will last. Because of that, and because of the âdoorwayâ to another world that the Anomaly allegedly is, Iâm betting Sanctum is not our final destination. Iâm thinking weâll end up on Earth again, somehow.
I hope it ends with everyone who survives together, and happy, and with a plan for a sustainable society that doesnât murder each other every two months.
Tagging: @boomhedaâ @awesomenell65â @captainwilldameronâ @blodkruâ @dylanobrienisbatmanâ @teeandsnowflakesâ and anyone else who I normally tag, Iâm honestly drawing a blank rn. The usual âplease steal thisâ rules apply!

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Good Place, Riverdale, Timeless, B99, Resident, Million Little Things, Flash and More
Got a scoop request? An anonymous tip youâre dying to share? Send any/all of the above to [email protected]
Question: Got any Riverdale scoop? Whatâs next for Archie? âKerri Ausiello: When we last saw Archie in the fall finale, he was dyeing his famous red locks and making a run for the Canadian border. Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wonât tell us who he finds when he gets there, but âhe is headed into the Canadian wilderness, for sure.â He wonât be seeing his dad Fred in the flesh anytime soon, though: It wasnât shown on-screen, but the EP confirms that Fred did make it back into Riverdale before the quarantine came down.
Question: Any Million Little Things scoop? My friends and I are obsessed with it and hope itâs back for another season. âMontreal4 Ausiello: Remember how showrunner DJ Nash said that everyone in the group of friends has a secret theyâve kept? Look for Reginaâs to come to light in Episode 14.
Question: Any scoop on what to expect when Greyâs Anatomy returns? âAl Ausiello: I will have a special holiday treat for you this coming Monday, so sit tight. In the meantime, I tried to get showrunner Krista Vernoff to share even the tiniest bit of intel about Jennifer Greyâs mysterious character and⌠I struck out. âI canât [say anything],â she responded. âBecause it would really ruin a twist and turn that I donât want to ruin.â Hmm⌠Iâm sticking with my initial prediction: Sheâs Joâs mom.
Question: Anything on The Good Place? (Janet, specifically.) âWhitney Ausiello: Everyoneâs favorite not-a-robot will be forever changed by having the humans materialize in Janet form, creator Michael Schur teases: âThe way to really have empathy for people is to walk a mile in their shoes, and she did, like, the inverse of that. A bunch of people walked in her weird body for a decent amount of time⌠so that is another contributing factor to her evolution.â He adds that the season finale âhas some pretty wonderful âcompare this version of Janet to the one you saw in the pilotâ kinds of scenes.â So enjoy, Janet fans!
Question: Iâm glad Dorian finally confronted Kaleb about his feeding problem on this weekâs Legacies. Can I stop worrying about MG now? âSusan Ausiello: I donât think itâs ever safe to stop worrying about MG, but as far as Kaleb goes, it sounds like Dorianâs pep talk was just the beginning. âKaleb has a lot of really big ideas, and a lot of opinions about how things should work,â series creator Julie Plec says. âMuch like in the real world when a hot-headed teenager thinks he can second guess what makes the rules the rules, heâs going to have a rude awakening pretty soon where he realizes he doesnât know as much as he thinks he knows.â
Question: The ending of New Amsterdamâs fall finale makes me think that Maxâs cancer is progressing quicker than first assessed. Will this affect the clinical trial Dr. Sharpe has gotten him into? âMalasha Ausiello: We brought your query to showrunner David Schulner, and he said: âWhile we canât reveal here what happened to Max on that dock, we will in our first episode back January 8. But, youâre right to ask if this will affect Maxâs clinical trial. It most definitely will. This setback will change a lot of things in Maxâs life. And Dr. Sharpeâs too. Thanks for watching and caring and writing to TVLine about the show.â
Question: Will The Flash give us any more hints about what Nora seems to be hiding? âSSH Ausiello: Now that we know there is some sort of alliance with Eobard Thawne, you should expect âa flash-forward flashback episodeâ that explains âhow all that came to be, which will be a lot of fun,â says showrunner Todd Helbing. âYouâll slowly start to get the pieces of info that you need, but there will probably be one episode where we explain how that all happened to get her to come back [in time].â
Question: Challenge: Make me look forward to the Schittâs Creek holiday episode more than I am already. â Belinda Ausiello: TVLineâs resident Schitthead Charlie Mason promises me that, no matter how great your expectations are, you wonât be disappointed â the special totally âsleighs.â Whatâs more, he issues a warning that the episode reveals a potential stumbling block to Alexis and Tedâs rekindled romance that neither she nor we anticipated.
Question: I need to know two things about Timeless: First, will #lyatt have a baby? Two, is Jessica really pregnant with Wyattâs baby? âMiwako Ausiello: In response to your second question, star Matt Lanter says, âWe address that [in the series finale, airing Dec. 20]. Weâll find out.â As for Wyatt, heâs not suspicious of Jessica and her baby news. âWeâve seen Wyatt be blinded by love throughout the last two seasons, though, and this is nothing new for him,â Lanter says. âInherently, heâs a good person with a good heart, and I think he has a hard time accepting that people he loves or cares about ⌠wouldnât be good. So I think itâs easier as an audience member to look at Jessica and go, âYeah, sheâs lying.â But I think Wyatt is just more blind to things.â
Question: How many time periods will we see in the Timeless finale? âAmanda Ausiello: âThere are two-plus time periods, I will say that, that we have not visited before,â showrunner Arika Lisanne Mittman shares, adding that the historical time trips highlight âethnic representations that we have not seen before [on the show]. Both of these stories are things that [are about] lesser known historical figures. You get to meet some new people that youâve probably never heard of.â
Question: Iâd love a Resident scoop on Conrad/Nic. âHolly Ausiello: I hope you enjoyed the coupleâs honeymoon phase while it lasted, because the back half of Season 2 will be ânothing but obstaclesâ for the pair, according to executive producer Todd Harthan. âIn just about every episode, thereâs a new one for them to overcome⌠and they just start stacking up,â Harthan says, adding that the couple will be especially preoccupied with the health of Conradâs father and Nicâs sister. âItâs going to be a âhold on and hope that they make itâ kind of ride,â he teases.
Question: Any hints on how to solve the Blindspot episode title puzzle for Season 4? âHannah Ausiello: âOh man! We finally built a title puzzle this season that is legit very hard to crack,â showrunner Martin Gero answers. âI will say this: The puzzle is an homage to some our favorite TV series and how they title the shows. Figure out which, and you might be a step closer.â
Question: Creekâs death on Midnight, Texas was so awful. Please promise me no one dies in tonightâs episode! âRina Ausiello: I cannot make that promise. But I can tell you that Mr. Snuggly makes it through OK. So thatâs something⌠right?
Question: Got any red-hot Chicago Fire scoopage, Aus? âGene Ausiello: I see what you did there and Iâm⌠very amused. Well done. The NBC drama is planning some girls-only bonding time for Sylvie, Stella and Emily. âTheyâre going to go on a road trip to [Sylvie] Brettâs hometown,â showrunner Derek Haas previews. The episode will air the week of Valentineâs Day, âso weâre calling it the Galentineâs trip.â Before that, though, the show will explore Emilyâs âattitudes towards dating, which are different than Brettâs, and I donât mean LGBTQ,â Haas explains. âI mean more of what [Emily, who is bisexual] considers casual versus what Brett considers casual. All of those dynamics are going to be deepened.â
Question: March is far away. I want American Gods scoop now! âRob Ausiello: Well, because you asked so nicely⌠Pablo Schrieber says the âantagonist and allyâ relationship between Mad Sweeney and Laura Moon will be tested big time by his allegiance to Mr. Wednesday when the Starz drama returns for Season 2. The leprechaunâs destiny âis tied to [Wednesday], no matter what, but itâs also very thoroughly tied to her,â the actor says. âSo Sweeney is walking the line, balancing what he owes Wednesday and what heâs realizing he feels in other places.â Hmm. Sounds a lot like weâll see Laura kissing the Blarney Stone before the seasonâs over, am I right?
Question: Can you give us any Outlander spoilers? (Especially involving Briannaâs and Jamieâs meeting!?!) This is my first time doing this â hope Iâm doing it correctly! âCarolina Ausiello: You did OK. Iâll send you some notes about how to refine your approach in a separate email. Regarding the question at hand, I turn it over to our resident sassenach, Kim Roots, who has seen the scene in question: âI have rather high standards for the huge moments on this show â the wedding night, the print shop reunion, etc. â and I was incredibly satisfied by how the father-daughter plays out in [episode number redacted according to Starzâs spoiler restrictions]. Fans of the book definitely wonât be disappointed.â
Question: Elizabeth and Henry on Madam Secretary are #couplegoals. Please tell me anything you can. âMary Ausiello: An upcoming episode opens with the McCords taking a tango lesson. And one of them is significantly more skilled than the other.
This AAnd That⌠⌠THE BLACKLIST: As teased in the Season 6 trailer, Red will spend some time behind bars after being double-crossed by a close confidant â but donât count him out just yet. âHeâs really been stripped of his superpowers,â series creator Jon Bokenkamp shares. âHeâs disconnected from his resources, he may have friends who will fall away and heâs sort of on his heels, which is new for us.â But Bokenkamp assures fans that âif anyone could embrace the solitude of a cell and the experience of incarceration with open arms, it would be Raymond Reddington. We have really high stakes, but we also have some of the most fun weâve had, as well.â ⌠BROOKLYN NINE-NINE: There will be one major.hilarious change when the sitcom makes the leap from Fox to NBC in January. âWeâre allowed to bleep and blur [now],â series co-creator Dan Goor recently told us. âFox had a no bleeping and no pixelation policy.â Now the gloves are off. âSome filthy, filthy things have been said,â added Terry Crews. âI had one [joke] where Iâm ashamed. Iâm actually very, very ashamed. It was so jarring that everyone was like, âWhoa,â and we needed to regroup⌠But holy cow, we never heard language like that on the show.â ⌠CHICAGO PD: Burgess is not the only one who will have a reaction to Upton and Ruzekâs romance. In an upcoming episode, Jay âresponds in a way I think youâd expect Halstead to respond,â showrunner Rick Eid teases, âand I think whatâs going on in his head is a little different than what he says.â Eid also adds that Jayâs ârelationship [with] Upton is interesting and evolving, so donât sleep on that.â ⌠HOUSEKEEPING NOTE: This is the last AA of â18 so happy holidays and all that jazz!
Thatâs a wrap! Please send questions, comments and anonymous tips to [email protected]. (Additional reporting by Kim Roots, Andy Swift, Dave Nemetz, Vlada Gelman and Diane Gordon)
