#like I prefer the tinier feet on the original so I’m gonna slope the legs in a bit

This is definitely NOT one of those drastic “look how much my art has improved!” Redraw situations but I just decided to redo one of my favorite early drawings from when I was first starting to draw, on some bigger paper so I can try my hand at painting which is my weakest medium
And it’s subtle but I’m noticing a definite difference in my comprehension of perspective in particular
Like the first drawing was very much my best attempt. The second drawing I understood how to align the back box thing with the chest piece, and the imperfections in perspective (such as in the shoulder or the alignment of the feet) I maintained on purpose for the comedic quality I feel they have, as opposed to the first drawing where it was kinda the best I could do, but I accepted it because it looked funny.
#I still have some tweaking to do#like I prefer the tinier feet on the original so I’m gonna slope the legs in a bit#and adjust the head to look more towards the camera#which is what the original drawing sort of DID but I was TRYING to have it angled more like my second drawing#but the directly looking into the camera is MUCH funnier#and I have new ideas about how I might want to do the craters#a little more dr Seuss feel on the craters#it is NOT a drastic improvement but also have not been practicing in any way#I have no reason to be better other than like a handful of sketches I’ve been doing#and my 3D modeling stuff I’ve been doing for video games I guess?#but I’ve really let the drawing fall by the wayside which sucks because it’s a very grounding activity for me
